What fun is there to be had in life when money is no concern? It’s a problem that only the world’s richest people could ever be worried about, too comfortable with their own lives to worry about anything else other than where their next source of entertainment is coming from. For Celestial Dragons, who believe themselves to be gods over humans, what better way of exercising your great wealth and power for your own petty amusement than to play games with the lives of those you consider mere mortals?
Occasionally when Celestial Dragons are bored or have a disagreement with one another, they decide to play a rather twisted game using only one of their many servants or slaves. These two slaves have very different roles however, one acting as a ‘hound’ to hunt and kill the other that assumes the role of ‘hare’ and the rule of the game is simple - the hound has approximately one to two years to find the hare and kill it wherever it may run or hide down in the world below. Each Celestial Dragon takes a close watch over their chosen character, keeping their Vivre Card close by as well as a Den Den Mushi so they can keep contact with their player at any time to enjoy all the stories regarding close calls, cunning escapes and bouts of attempted murder. The hare must use all it’s cleverness and tricks to stay ahead of the hound who in turn is allowed to use any means necessary to catch and kill it’s quarry. Once a month, the Celestial Dragon will arrange for their player to find a nearby location that’ll provide money, food, medicine and anything else that may be needed in that time so the ‘game’ can continue as long as possible. Should the hare win and avoid being killed, it wins both life and freedom, never to be a slave again. Should the hound win, it’ll be blessed with a rich life as a most esteemed servant or granted freedom if it so wishes, but should it fail to hunt and slay it’s prey before the game ends, it will find itself to be the one culled instead.
#❦;; musings#✚;; thoughts#So I had a dream last night and told pterodolphin about it earlier#Like instead of Dungeons and Dragons these bastards make their own game called The Hound and the Hare#One runs and one chases#All for their own petty amusement in some sort of manhunt hunger games type scenario#How else is a god supposed to have their fun after all?#I should be drafting but shower thoughts are coming hard today#Just an example of what a Celestial Dragon might do#♔;; Hoof of the Soaring Dragon#Additional note: It's a bad idea for a hare to kill their hound#Because then two more will be released#And if those are killed four will be released#Like you COULD kill the guy who has been seeking your death for over half a year#But then you'd have to deal with two strangers next in line to slay you#The game gets more difficult for the hare that way#So they must practise non-lethal tricks and self-defence as best they can#After all rabbits shouldn't be able to kill dogs#The game ends with the hare's death or when the agreed time limit is over
