Blue Lock driving headcanons Why? Well why not

Btw I have zero idea what I’m even talking about here

Isagi:

Isagi was always use to either his dad or mom driving him around so he wouldn’t really think of getting a license ( especially when he’s in bluelock ), but at some point in few years he realized that the number 1 striker should probably know how to drive

Bachira

Probably knows how to drive a bike, besides that the closest thing he ever got to driving a car was one of them toy ones his classmate had

He would just let one of his friends ( aka Isagi ) drive him around , he’s more of a backseat princess than a passenger one

Chigiri:

Chigiri just lets his mom drive him around to school and such . His sister does as well when he’s visiting her

Chigiri is just a princess

Kunigami:

Sister kunigami was actually teaching Ren how to drive… but then Bluelock happened.. and then the wildcard

But after everything is settled he does touch the idea of learning how to drive again

Barou:

Barou got a sports car, black with red leather seats, for his 18th birthday from his father. A week or so later he got his license

he drives his two little sisters EVERYWHERE. The moment one or both of them are feeling a little down by just a little, Barou immediately gets the car ready to go to the mall and spoil them rotten

Barou has a couple of rules when it comes to having people in his car . And the number 1 rule is " NO EATING IN THE CAR ". Also has extra floor mats

Those rules don’t apply to his sisters btw

Shidou:

Does Shidou have a license? No , does he know how to drive? Yes , is he good at it? WELLL-

You won’t die but the amount of stress you’ll feel probably isn’t good ( unless your name is Itoshi Sae )

Aiku:

He knows how to drive ofc , after training with the U20 team he’s dangling his carkeys loudly with a cocky smug smirk asking if anyone’s up for a ride

He wants to learn how to ride a motorcycle at some point, do you know .. increase his popularity with the ladies

Karasu:

When Karasu’s 18th birthday was around the corner his older sister and grandma were teaching him late at night. Granny kept nagging at his ear the whole time .. but don’t worry everything tuned out alright, took his driving lesson a week after

Otoya:

Otoya thought about learning about how to drive just so he can seem more cool but ends up forgetting about it .after he met Karasu during bluelock he just uses him as his personal ride from now on

Yukimiya:

Yukki knows enough to drive around late at night he knows that if his eye condition gets worse that he won’t be able to do something like this again 

Rin:

Rin always knew that he’ll get his driving license eventually but he wasn’t in a rush… but the moment he heard both Isagi and Sae have theirs , Rin had to get his as soon as possible when he turned 18

Sae:

Sae has a license, he just likes it when other people drive him around instead( aka his manager)

The only reason he ever got it was because he wanted to go to the beach late at night alone without any worry

Lorenzo:

Snuffy had the great idea of teaching Lorenzo how to drive! … yeah the first time didn’t go so well.. might have ended with Snuffy needing his car fixed.. but Lorenzo is definitely getting better!!

Kaiser and Sae had the misfortune of being Lorenzo’s first two guests to ride around with… Kaiser felt like he was gonna have a heart attack meanwhile Sae was regretting his life choices that lead him here

Kaiser:

Kaiser finally had it .. a beautiful custom designed sports car , a hunk of steel and metal that was peak german engineering , something to show off how far he has come , something he bought from his well earned money

Ray Dark: it’s beautiful . Good choice, Kaiser.

Kaiser: oh ah- Well you don’t think that I, Michael kaiser , would have poor taste.

Ray Dark: No no of course not .. you’re no longer that helpless 15 year old I found. Why don’t you take her for a little ride?

-Lorenzo is at home, so Snuffy asks him to bring your bag, which he does

-he gives you a three-minute speech about how you keep forgetting your things all the time and that you really need to improve on that

-you expect him to let you go to school without your stuff, but when you get out of the car he just says "I'll be there with your stuff in 15 minutes" and drives off again

-as promised, he brings your bag but then scolds you once again for forgetting it, but this time in front of your friends so it's more embarrassing

Big brother!Karasu

-he needs to go to school as well, so he has the choice of either getting back home and getting your stuff (which would result in him missing his first class) or letting you go to school without anything

-he ends up handing you a piece of paper (that has a part cut off at the bottom) and a pen from his bag and tells you "Good luck surviving today"

-you somehow made it through the day, but only because your friends let you look into their books and also gave you paper to use

Big brother!Oliver

-he says "I guess you're going to school without your bag" and then he drives off without even saying goodbye

-but he's actually going back home to get your bag. He's just letting you believe he doesn't care to mess with you

-he bursts into your classroom in the middle of the lesson to give you your bag. And he also interrupts the class in general because nobody even knew he's your brother so now half of your classmates want to take photos with him

when snuffy announced that the team will be taking a beach trip as a treat for their hard work and victories during NEL, barou was IMMEDIATELY against it and just wanted to stay behind in the blue lock facility

from the wet sand sticking onto him everywhere to god knows what’s in the ocean (fish piss in there ya know), he was completely out.

he eventually relents when snuffy convinces him to go as it would be a good team bonding experience. and i mean who would say no to the team dad coach

barou also gets instantly annoyed that he can’t gel up his hair since the salty air and humidity will just ruin it so he’s gotta wear it down the whole trip. yet another reason for him to hate the beach

you sit next to him for the entire bus ride to his dismay and laugh at how much he overpacked for a simple day trip. he tells you to shut up to no avail as you keep cracking up at some of the things he brought.

when everyone gets there, barou sits under one of the umbrellas, far away from the tides and the wet sand, right next to aryu who’s trying to preserve his oh-so-fair skin away from the sun.

soon you ask to borrow his sunscreen since you somehow forgot your own. he does end up lending some to you while grumbling about how stupid you must be to not bring yours. then eventually you keep coming back to ask him for more things out of his heavy beach bag despite teasing him earlier because of it.

this does lead to the rest of the team asking for his stuff. oliver borrowing his extra pair of sandals. niko needing some burn gel since he accidentally fell asleep in the sun for five minutes and now the lower half of his face is sunburnt. sendou straight up taking some of his lip balm before he could even say no. lorenzo somehow eating half the snacks barou brought without him noticing.

later the team has a beach volleyball match and you invite him to join. he, of course, says no mainly because he’s disgusted by the feeling of the sand in his toes (and he’s also still pissy at everyone for taking his stuff).

so you gotta drag him out to play. and by that i mean physically drag him out by his arm while he doesn’t budge from his beach towel at all and looks at you crazy for even trying.

eventually snuffy tells you to stop and makes barou join the game to have fun with the others.

since no one in blue lock is normal, you guys play the game like your damn lives depend on it. with how egotistic the match goes, barou actually ends up enjoying it a lot. especially since he now has an excuse to finally destroy his own teammates.

(this also confuses and lowkey scares other clueless beachgoers who had the misfortune of witnessing you maniacs play)

after the game, you notice barou’s attitude and mood have greatly improved. most people wouldn’t even have noticed the change but you know him well enough to catch it.

you once got pinched by a tiny crab and placed it in barou’s hand, telling him it’s pretty crabby… like him…

he just stares at you before walking away with it, planning to release the teeny crustacean back into the water

later during the trip, he immediately jolts away when he sees your fingers covered in wet sand after making sand castles with niko with just your bare hands alone (they honestly ended up turning into sand mounds more than anything).

when you flick some of the sand onto his cheek as a joke just to see how he would react, you would think he saw the literal devil. the literal mortification on his face. thankfully he was petrified for a good few seconds which gave you plenty of time to run, living to see another day.

when everyone gets back, barou will never admit how much he actually enjoyed the trip and hanging out with the team. instead, he will grumble about how much sand got into his swim trunks and hair when he gets ready to shower.

but everyone knows he actually had a blast hanging out with the team for a day.

IsagiRin as a ship just doesn't work for me. Odk why just. Sorry I can NOT see your vision bestie. Half of the Blue Lock ships don't work for me especially when centered around Isagi because that boy switches side characters like they're pairs of shoes. In Blue Lock one or two sus or even sweet moments doesn't really amount to much to me because everyone has them here. That doesn't automatically mean date on a riverside resturant. On the other hand I totally could see Bachira x Isagi but I just think of them as really close friends because that's what gives me the most comfort being as some of the people who really saved my life were friends. I think it would be better if Bachira had a friend first and focused on himself before getting into any big relationship. Idk I guess that's more of a personal preferance

SPEAKING OF, I hate people who write Blue Lock smut w a burning passion. I'm not even gonna hit the whole iTS IMMorAL train it just usually sucks all the fun and personality out of the chosen character and is just trying to be as gross ans shocking as possible and twist them into somehow being pervs just bc they get all hyperactive when they play soccer. Like GET THERAPY. Half the time I go to the bllk tag im just scrolling like HE WOULD NOT FUCKING SAY THAT.

The anime gets a lot of slack but like... It's very difficult to transfer things from one medium to the other especially things as philisophical as Blue Lock

Fandom interpretations of Shidou are usually weirdly ooc because they wittle him down to like how cray cray he is or whatever and completely ignore for example, his respect for people who are also creative and out of the box or his ability to deal with lonliness and being othered by everyone

Characters that shouldn't be hated nearly as much as they are: NOA NOEL. You heard it here folks. I genuinely believe he's just trying his best and honestly most coaches would've asked to drop half the player he has to deal with by now like cmon you got an emo gymrat who was forced to become like you, you got a playee whos EYESIGHT IS FAILING but will literally start falling apart if you bench him, you got..kaiser and his lapdog ass cronie who dont listen to your plans at all, you got an entire rift between new and old players. Like how do you even fix that when you can't send people home (i think)? He gives good advice sometimes ngl and they're winning games so like...

Cont. Sure he isn't as funny or amusing to read as Lavinho or Chris and he isn't as open as Snuffy but DAMN IT he's doing his job ok? And all the dad son moments between him and Isagi are to die for.

Naruhayas little miniarc is honestly has the saddest backstory implications to me. THERE I SAID IT. Rin's is indeed tragic and heartwrenching but can be fixed, he can move on and heal if he so chooses. Bachira...ok nvm bachira's ties with it. Hiori's is an absolute tear jerker but he is still in Blue Lock. He still has some time to grow. Naruhaya? There's nothing that could be done to fix his position or bring him up or cut him from the weights dragging him down. We see so many characters in the Blue Lock universe rise from their poverty through soccer but DAMN IT NARUHAYA EXISTED TO SHOW THAT THAT IS A LUCKY AND FEW 2 PERCENT. HE PROBABLY HAD TO GIVE UP ON EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HIS DREAMS JUST TO SUPPORT THE VERY FAMILY HE LOVES SO MUCH. HIS PARENTS LITERALLY DIED. DO YOU UNDERSTAND? BACHIRA STILL HAS HIS MOM, RIN AT LEAST HAS HOPES OF RECONCILING WITH HIS BROTHER AND HIORI MIGHT ONE DAY SAFELY CUT HIS PARENTS OFF BUT HIS ARE IMPLIED TO BE GOOD PEOPLE JUST..STRAIGHT UP DEAD. Blue Lock Manga

After two weeks of creeping hysteria and stir-craziness redditors know what I mean, the scanlation for Chapter 222 (“Design”) has dropped. My usual new chapter rambling under the cut.

Previous chapter analyses

1. Hiori finds his mojo (isagi. it's been isagi all along)

I had hoped best boi's ego would be linked to combating Ubers more so than Isagi, but alas, the harem of simps/rivals proved too compelling to pass on. This seems to be set-up for Noa to substitute Hiori on in place of Kurona once the three-minute star change is over. But until then...

It's been pointed out on the subreddit that Isagi looks particularly good in that first panel. I would like to raise that Hiori is going doki-doki for Himsagi-kun in the second.

Guys, they know who they're appealing to with this manga. On that point...

2. Soccer Dad Star Showdown

Blue Lock!! Where one half of the fandom are here for the world-class ball keeping techniques and the other half of the fandom are here for... the world-class ball keeping techniques 😏 Guess what camp I'm in?

The effect normal panels of Snuffy and Noa have on me. Guess I have a kink for competent football dads 🤷 /s Chris Prince and Lavinho could never.

Anyway, Snuffy hits the pitch hot and doesn't let BM catch a break. I really enjoyed his and Noa's face off. As much chaos as Lavinho and Prince caused during the two previous matches, Snuffy strikes me as a far bigger threat in terms of dismantling BM's defence (and showing up Noa). It takes BM's two most talented forwards to see off the shot Snuffy sets up for Barou. At the end of the chapter, as Ubers regroup to take on BM's defence again, I have a sinking feeling Snuffy's going to win this confrontation. And perhaps he should. What's rational exactly about a team at war?

3. Ness tries

Like for real. He runs in, doesn't touch the ball, gets read to filth by a fifteen year old, and isn't seen again in this chapter.

When are we going to see some magic from the magician?

It's high time for Ness (as a professional player) to get his head in the game. This is the guy that outperformed everybody but Kaiser in the original BM stamina and technique test. He's subservient to his emperor, but even then, how is he this lacklustre?

Since Noa only cares about numbers, it seems like Ness is here to stay... but it sure is frustrating.

4. Superbowl: Kaiser V Barou V Isagi

This is my favourite panel this week. Clock the auras: puzzles, thorned vines and lightning collide at last. Dope. I'm still new to colouring, so I'm not touching this one, but I can't WAIT to see what someone with serious skill does with it 🔥🔥🔥

It's refreshing to see Kaiser get worked up over someone other than Isagi. Got to spread the frustration, right?

Last time, I predicted: I think Snuffy's MO will be to set up a goal for Barou, while knocking Kaiser and Isagi down a peg. I hope he synergises with Lorenzo! Noa will be man marking Snuffy, but might get time to do some Isagi coaching while he's out there, who knows?

So far so good, right? I think this prediction will carry over into the next chapter. I'll caveat one thing: Isagi and Kaiser's backs must ache from carrying both the offence and defence of Bastard Munchen. They're the only BM players that aren't part of the circus as of the end of this chapter. Raichi, Yukimiya, Mensah and Birkenstock found dead in a ditch /s

I predict Barou will score the next goal, with Lorenzo providing an assist. Then Noa will make a substitution with the aim of countering Lorenzo and Ubers in the final play of the game...

Four chapters ago (chp 218), I predicted: As for who’ll be the true game changer? Said it already, but if Hiori’s not getting subbed on for our newly christened royal trash!Ness in the next five chapters, I’ll eat my hat. 🐑

Have a funny feeling he'll get subbed in the chapter after next. If I'm decided a clown by chp 223, watch the egg on my face get cooked by chp 224. I don't think Ness is getting subbed out at this point.

All that I saw were centered around the music of Toto and Joseph’s solo work––the songs, the musicians, the concerts. Fascinating!  I wanted to know about the kid, the son, the man, the artist, the vocalist, the composer, who thrived, who struggled, who acted out, who cleaned up, and that’s exactly what generous Joseph gave us, no holds barred, no lines held, as it were. From his earliest days with his dad, John Williams, making genius in the other room, his actress-singer mother, Barbara Ruick, turning life into songs, he and his siblings performing on cue for their parents’ esteemed party guests, and forming their first band, together, picking up his first drink, finding mischief, getting busted, breaking bones, boarding school leading to his first gig… jingles, Vegas, Star Search - one story better than the last - to auditioning for Toto - how he got it, what it meant - how he lost it - what he did to ensure that it would never happen again - composing, scoring- working with a guy named Snuffy, guesting with Toto and Bobby Kimball, rejoining the band in 2010, now he and Lukather the two remaining old guard… full circle - still touring - and miraculously still a Novid!

eg: snuffy: anemo, because he has a dead friend, or ness: electro, because he’s a simp. (i’m so sorry about the snuffy one.)

manshine trio (they’re my favourites), bachira, niko, barou, sae, rin, shidou, charles, kurona, hiori, our beloved mc isagi, kuni (pre or post wildcard, up to you), and german frat boy (you know who i mean.)

15 characters is a lot so it’s understandable if you wanna shorten the list or not take this request 😭😭 i just thought of it in the shower and thought maybe you’d like it since we’re both genshin and bllk fans but i hope you like this idea!!

OMG I love this so freaking much, and I have been thinking about it since I got it this morning and you are not ready for the ride I am about to take you on in my reasonings <3 (Also I ended up having no ideas for Barou so I did pre and post wild card Kunigami!!) (And yes, Kaiser's will be a whole tangent about him since I love him so much, and I am very deeply connected to that man, my blue dyed tip hair and blue rose tattoo will agree.)

Just because I felt like elaborating more on your ideas I'm gonna start with Snuffy and Ness<3 Marc Snuffy: Anemo - I mean firstly and most importantly he lost his best friend and that's a very big key component in Anemo, but also he continued to go and find a reason to keep living on (winning the major 5 european championships) Alexis Ness: Electro - Not only falling under being a simp, following the path of Sara and her devotion towards the Raiden Shogun, but being seen as abnormal by even his own family for liking the things that he likes (Magic). Reo Mikage: Geo - Working really hard to be able to play football/soccer even with the bumps in his way like his parents (more specifically his dad, as shown in Episode Nagi) trying to get him to work more on taking over the company, but yet he still works hard on his dream to becoming a pro athlete. Nagi Seishiro: Anemo or Cryo - Nagi is a little weird since he could follow down the Anemo path like Sayu, but he also has a lot of tendencies to be a potential Cryo. Having his internal conflicts during the second selection to be able to break apart from Reo to become stronger and be able to compete at a level that challenges him, but also his past (seen in Ep. Nagi) of his parents kinda leaving him and abandoning him. Chigiri Hyoma: Hydro - Having himself a moral code that he created for himself to follow when it comes to playing football/soccer, and even with his injury continuing to follow the path that he created for himself to become the best and help him in his upbringing to get back to the way he was with no fear and continue to be a 'chosen one' Bachira Meguru: Pyro - Being very passionate about the sport that he plays and wanting to always surpass himself and become better. Even trying new chemical reactions and trying new things to become better then he was before. Niko Ikki: Dendro - The knowledge of the field that he has through his eyes and the way he sees the field. It could be under the consideration of "hidden" knowledge as it isn't something the other team knows about until you figure it out yourself, and with that he has a risk for trying new things to be able to score and continue using the knowledge that he has to grow and eventually be able to beat people using it. Sae Itoshi: Hydro or Cryo - At first with his whole thing for not thinking he's good enough to become the best striker after his whole thing and Spain (and most likely something to do with Leonardo Luna) which then turns him into having an internal conflict and then brings to his change and changing his morals to be instead the best midfielder but still keeping that mindset of being the best in something. Rin Itoshi: Cryo - Itoshi family thing, yet again, another Cryo. He also has a big internal conflict, but with his brother, as he is the main reason why he is even playing the sport and why he is so keen on becoming the best, and by that he really just means beating his brother. He also has quite a few of the tendencies of Cryo characters from the game, as he does mostly distance himself from others and is really only seen talking to them when somebody else approaches him first. Shidou Ryusei: Pyro - Another person who is quite passionate (even sometimes a little too much *cough cough* U20 game *cough cough*, especially when he finds people that he likes playing with (ex Charles and Sae). It is a little hard just because we don't know anything about his past so I'm really just basing it on the way he acts! Charles Chevalier: Pyro - Same thing as Shidou, as we really don't know anything about his past it makes it a little harder. Though I would like to say he def gives Pyro energy, same boat as Hu Tao. He is very passionate when on the feild, and about the way he acts towards the things that he likes, which is being a pain in the ass contrarian.

Kurona Ranze: Electro(?) - This one was I think the hardest for me since there isn't a lot on Kurona, but I did try my best! I was thinking more electro as he is most likely seen as more abnormal as he tends to stay behind and help out other players (ex. Isagi) which is most likely uncommon for a place like Blue Lock, since it's all about opening an ego and making things for yourself. Though I can say much as, we have nothing for his backstory, and nothing much on his wiki!

Hirori Yo: Dendro or Cryo - Hiroi has already been known as somebody who has a lot of info when it comes to football/soccer, most likely due to his parents. Though when he first meets Isagi and Nanase he is seen giving quite a bit of information out which ends up helping them in the long run, so his knowlodge of the game very deeply resonates with the dendro element. Though the constant struggle of trying to find out if what he's doing is right follows him along the way. As it was his parents main thing to get him to play, so constantly wanting to not do it does follow him and makes him question things for sure about it.

Isagi Yoichi: Hydro or Geo - A man who has his principals in check, your honor. This man is pretty good at know what's right and what's wrong and can often be seen as the person being in the middle of fights (Ex. Nagi and Barou) and making sure that things don't get to crazy between them. Though he also has a good work ethic and is always trying to make himself stronger and wants to boost himself to the next level.

Kunigami (Pre WC): Hydro - He has a very good goal in life, well at least at the start of Blue Lock. Wanting to be like the hero's he saw on TV, but also wanting everything to be fair. He is constantly making sure (even from the first time we saw him) that everything is fair game, even if it wasn't strictly mentioned in the rules.

Kunigami (Post WC): Cryo or Electro - They never outwardly said it but something must have happened to that man in Wild Card that they are not telling us! So in short I have a feeling that he is dealing with something from the past that went on in there. Though another thing that would go with Electro is his views were most likely changed though the process of Wild Card. Nobody just flips a switch like that for no reason. So a bigger picture to this is that he was probably learning things about what he needed to do to become the best and staying on the path he was, wasn't going to get him there.

Michael Kaiser: Cryo - Ah yes.. Kaiser. Boy do I have a lot to say about you. (And that's on having a similar backstory<3) His whole egotistical personality most likely stems from his childhood (as most things do about people) More often then not do kid who have no attention on them as children end up living for that attention and praise as they get older, case in point Kaiser basically wanting to be the best striker and having a pretty good title of it, until you learn that he wants to move on and make his own name, which is most likely another sign of him trying to have the attention on himself, though it also stems from the abandonment he had a as child not only form his mother, but the abandonment of a father figure from his dad. Though the conflict start coming in when you see the drastic change when Isagi starts scoring goals and making many more problems for the name that Kaiser was creating for himself. Though with a loss of figures of parents that is only to be expected as the praise is no longer coming from other people, but instead just the person that he manipulated (Ness.)

Now obviously I can go on and on about this, but I won't, you've already had to read through the rest of my brainrot so I won't be saying anything else<3

With cooler temperatures comes, for me, the transition from clear to brown liquor. Tonight I’m wearing flannel pajama bottoms, Haflinger slippers, and my favorite sweatshirt while enjoying a Manhattan as Sheila and I watch the Packers/Bears game. She’s a big fan of Green Bay. I just like a close game.

My brother is also a Packers fan. He goes to one or two games in Green Bay each year. I went with him and our dad once several years ago. I like Lambeau field and the history of the Packers.

Earlier tonight Sheila and I stopped by our nearby brewery. We laughed and talked with people around us. Our dogs were there too (with a dozen other dogs). The food truck was a brick-oven pizza thing. I wasn’t in the mood for pizza, so we got Snuffy’s burgers to go from the nearby restaurant..

I got a Plaza Burger. The Plaza is a bar in Madison, where I went to college. It’s one of my favorite Madison bars. A number of restaurants I’ve been to have copied the Plaza Burger (Swiss cheese, grilled onions, sour cream and chives on a pumpernickel bun). The burger was good, but the experience didn’t match up to some late night in 1986.

As I watch football I’m also doing laundry. The A/C is off. All the windows are open. I love smelling the dryer exhaust. It makes the house smell fresh.

It still gets me that this is the only fictional child in a divorce off the top of my head that's was peaceful. Not even Sesame Street's scrapped one with Snuffy was, it was a very volitile separation. With it popular to being a traumatic experience in media, seeing a positive handling of it is rare

To have it this earnest and still note the struggle of separated parents for a child is really something special. And I thank the staff (cough, @yafgcrich) for pulling it off over 20 years ago

Having a last turn over the golden high-heels in the mirror, putting well the dress on, you get out from the room walking downstairs. The garnet red satin dress falling to your ankles dances slightly with every step, crossing the door to the living room of Vicki's place. The crew leave in the background everything they're doing to stare at you with parted lips. Surprised in a kindly way. But no one says nothing.

“So, it's a good choice for Shanon's wedding?” You ask stretching arms to both sides of your body, turning on your feet completely so the men can also see your back almost bare.

“Sweet Jesus Christ, baby…” Your father says, getting up of his chair, walking close to you.

Holding one of your hands, he makes you turn again so he can say the whole outfit again. Taza is impressed and stupefy with his eyes touring the long dress.

“You stole my air”. Tranq says, leaning above the table where they're playing poker.

“And my heart”. Bishop agrees nodding with pursed lips.

“Yo! Riz, what do you think?” You ask your husband, raising an eyebrow expecting one of his compliments.

“Wha'?” He replies back, lifting his gaze of the cards, like he's looking at something normal and common he sees everyday.

“Could you please pay me some attention…?”

“I do it all the time. You're more annoying than Youtube premium adds”. Riz sighs rolling his eyes, making you frown and feeling how the rage runs through your body.

“Do you like it, or not?” With a heavy snort ignoring his comment, you point your own dress.

“Amma' one of your friends to feed your ego?” He asks then, leaving his cards on the table to cross his arms, lying on the chair.

The crew doesn't give credit.

“You're the one who bury it”.

“Yea', it's my only goal in life”. He nods, smiling somewhat petty pulling back his hair from the roots to his nape.

You don't say anything else, licking your lower lip as you let go your father's hand with the intention to walk back upstairs, so you can change it for your other clothes. But when you're about to continue your steps towards the door, Riz whistles you one time. Firmly.

“Com'ere, dumb ass”. Raising a hand to you, making you a slight gesture, you practically obey him being really mad at him.

“You're a fuckin' asshole, you know?”

“Yea', you're too. Seven years together and you still get snuffy”. Grabbing your wrist and pushing you into him, he forces you to sit on his lap surrounding you with his arms, as he leaves a kiss on your left shoulder. “No matter what kind of red you use, it's the best color fo' you. You look fuckin' heartbreaking with this dress and, remember my words, Shannon is gonna get vexed with you fo' get all the attention on her wedding”.

You look at him, pressing your lips so you avoid to smile because of his words, knowing his winning again. You hate him, so much. His fingertips traveling from top to bottom on your back in ephemeral caresses, as if you two were alone in the room, giving you nice chills.

“You make my fuckin' brain explode every time you breathe, wha'bout tha', ah?”

Raising both eyebrows with a incredulous look on your face, you can't help but finally smiling.

“And there it is. Now you have made my heart stop, mi vida”. He leans towards you, kissing that gesture on your lips so proud of it. “Now, get outta tha' fuckin' dress before I have to do'et, ending up traumatizing your father fo' making you scream out my name on the top floor”.

“For god's sake, Riz… You're such a romantic”. Vicki snorts rolling her eyes, before offering you a hand to get up of your husband's lap.

“That's why she married me”.

“At first I thought you had gotten her pregnant”. Taza says, sitting back on his chair. “When I knew it wasn't, well… to this day I keep wondering why she married you”.

“Dad, don' be rude”.

“It's my only job as father-in-law. Go get that dress off, I'm too old for another trauma”.

Luke signs up for a program that connects families with soldiers.

He gives them his name-- Lucas-124, though he prefers just Luke.

He gives them his favorite nonperishable/long shelf life foods-- he loves crackers smothered with peanut butter and honey.

He gives them his favorite color-- his armor is a bold ultramarine but he prefers pink.

He doesn't expect anything in return. The Marines are what families favor. Spartans are still shrouded in terrifying conspiracies and shadow. The people want to be inspired by regular heroes, not grossly threatening lab rat freaks.

He forgets about the program until, after a long arduous mission, he finds an envelope with a package waiting on his cot in his quarters.

Oh. Right.

My name is Caterina. I'm 10 years old. My dad is a soldier like you though you look way scarier. In a cool way. I love your eyes and how they don't match. Pink is also my favorite color! I'm allergic to peanut butter so I hope you don't mind we sent you some biscuits instead. They're my favorite. Maybe you'll like them better, they've got orange jelly and chocolate sprinkles on them. My mama told me soldiers like you don't have families like mine so I sent you someone to keep you company.

Luke opens the package, hands trembling. There's a little stuffed bunny inside, bubblegum pink, with button eyes and a little green bow. It smells like strawberries.

This is Snuffy. She's tough and full of love so she can keep you safe out there while you're keeping us safe down here at home. She's been my friend since I was a baby so please take good care of her and she'll take care of you.

Luke keeps that bunny, that damned stuffed little plush, and it anchors him through nightmares and panic attacks, comforts him after painful fieldwork, acts as his keeper when he's on the operating table after taking a grenade to the face.

Six years later Snuffy is as beat up as Luke is but he loves her all the same.

How your dad says "I love you" when he brings you to school

Noa doesn't even realize he's embarrassing you. He drops you off at school every day and with the usual cold expression on his face he says "I love you" and will not let you leave until you said "I love you too." Most of the time, that happens in the car. But sometimes, when you're in a hurry you forget about it because your mind is focused on grabbing your backpack and running to your friend group so you can get to class. That's when your father opens the car window and yells after you, repeating "I love you!" still with the same expression while you're running towards your friends. You have no other choice than to yell it back, which your friends love to tease you about.

Whenever Chris drives you to school, he lets you out on the parking lot and actually walks to the school building with you. Saying goodbye always takes at least five minutes and you've arrived too late for your class a handful of times because sometimes, your dad just can't let you go. He repeats how much he loves you over and over and hugs you so tight you barely get air to breathe. He doesn't care if your friends see and hear it either. If you tell him it makes you feel embarrassed, Chris insists there's no reason to feel that way. He's your dad and he wants to be as open about how much he loves you as he wants, and that's nothing you should be embarrassed of. Although, he tends to get overly emotional, considering you're just going to school and it won't even be long until he sees you again.

Lavinho embarrasses you in front of your friends fully on purpose. When he drops you off at school, he always gets out of the car as well to give you a goodbye hug. If he sees only one of your friends around, he starts embarrassing you by calling you cringy nicknames and repeating how much he loves you loud enough for everyone to hear. He loves to tease you in front of everyone as well. Don't even think about telling him to back down because he definitely won't. Actually, he'd become even worse if you told him to stop. He thinks that as your dad, it's part of his job to be at least a bit embarrassing sometimes. A lot of times, actually. Teasing is his main love language, okay?

Snuffy keeps the goodbyes and "I love you"s in the car when he drives you to school. He prefers to keep that between you and him, just sometimes he forgets about it and because he would hate to let you go without saying it, he quickly opens his window to yell it after you. Only when you turn around he realizes that it embarrassed you because everyone could hear. He feels sorry afterwards whenever that happens and apologizes as soon as he picks you up from school. And still, he can't help but do it, again and again, each time he forgets to say "I love you" when you're still in the car.
