Toon Time Theater presents... THE 6TH U-PICK POLL!

Hello, anime fans. This is Gabriel Ramos, the DJ and broadcaster for T3 Express and Toon Time Theater. August will be a heated up month considering how many cartoons will be joining the Saturday morning lineup now that HAIKYU!! Season 1 and THE SLAYERS TRY ended their runs. However, I've been indecisive on what to broadcast on August 10. I know (lunar) Tanabata will be happening, but I want to wrap up that Japanese holiday with something loud and strong. The possible programs and blocks for this poll are as follows:

You have until August 9 at 2 PM PDT to make your selection. When the time comes, I will end the T3 Express peepshow to review your selections before live-streaming SAILOR MOON. The cartoon (or block) with the most votes will join the Saturday Morning Animation Cram Session officially. Think of this U-PICK poll as a Tanabata tree, and think of your vote as a wish strip. Once Tanabata ends, I will cut off the poll time, and the most-voted program or block will flow away, with your wish being granted.

M’kay I’m watching slayers revolution right now. Gotta say, I find it hilarious that Lina drove bandits to near extinction. At this point, she may have a body count that exceeds the average monster’s. Also not a fan of the new voice they got for Xellos. Sounds too high pitched. Then again, I did watch the entirety of Slayers, Slayers Next, and Slayers Try back to back, so that might also be the whiplash talking. Lina, Gourry, Amelia, and Zel’s voices anre anll great though. Also, Pokota is starting to grate on my nerves. Sympathetic backstory aside, he feels a bit overpowered in terms of the story. I mean, a replica sword of light and dragon slave? Just one would be fine, I mean we’ve had characters who can cast dragon slave and characters with light based weapons before, but having both feels a bit Gary Stu-ish (or Westley Crusher-ish, if you prefer). Also, I love how being Lina Inverse is now a crime. Frankly, I’m surprised this hasn’t happened sooner, though I sincerely doubt many armed forces could reasonably arrest Lina. Though given the prevalence of magic in this world, I assume there are anti-magic prisons in at least some capacity. Also, apparently Rezo is alive in some capacity. Curious to see where that plot thread leads. At this point I’m hoping for a fun Slyphiel appearance to make up for her lack of appearances in Try. I know there’s an appearance from Naga this season, so I’m 100% look forward for that. Also I’m liking the Inspector guy more and more for being the one to consistently point out how Lina’s actions are pretty criminal when you get right down to it, with the sorceress in question’s companions being unable to mount any defense in her favor because they sorta agree with it. I also like how he isn’t as much of an inspector Javert expy as he first appeared by using Lina as a pretense to bust criminals.

Since 2022 is almost over, it’s time to look back on every costume I made this year!!

The first costume I made this year was Cruise Ship! Amelia from Slayers Revolution. This was my favorite episode of season 4, and it was a lot of fun getting to be Amelia again! I made the dress from leftover Poplin and the bow from some leftover matte satin, which was also made via the classic Sailor Bows tutorial by @sparklepipsi ! This is such a comfy costume, as well as great casual wear!

Honestly, I was disappointed that Lina wasn’t dragged to court for the crime of being Lina Inverse, because, frankly, it would be absolutely hilarious to see how Lina’s friends would try and fail to mount a credible defense. All of them did kind of agree with Wizer that being Lina is a serious crime. I mean, this whole business was a long time coming with how much property damage Lina has caused. Plus, imagine all the callbacks they could make by bringing in characters from previous series as witnesses. Hell, we could even get a Luna Inverse cameo at the trial just to make Lina’s experience suck all that more! Maybe the first half could serve as a parody of recap episodes, where the various witnesses recount the events of the series but either biased by their understandable grudge against Lina or filtered through their … eccentric view of things. Actually, this kinda makes me wanna write a fanfic about this.

Promo for U-PICK No.6 on Toon Time Theater

Hey, anime fans! I, Gabriel Ramos, is here to announce the 6th U-PICK poll just in time for the (lunar) Tanabata celebrations. Starting August 2 at 2 PM PDT, you have nine non-E/I cartoons and an E/I block to vote. The cartoon and/or E/I block with the most votes will be added to the Saturday Morning Animation Cram Session the day after this U-PICK poll ends, which will land on August 9 right before the SAILOR MOON broadcasts for that day.

I have more single-cour cartoons up my sleeve, and I even re-added some programs from my first-ever poll since my account wasn't fully functional back then, and rarely anyone voted. Now that I am back better than ever, I figured I will use next month's allowance to promote the poll for a higher chance of getting lots and lots of votes. The programs and block are as follows:

-I hadn't realized how lighter his hair was in comparison to what I drew in the comic. In my defense, I didn't have a lot of access to reference images.

-Yes he dyes his hair. Even if he might be a vampire, it's kind of a Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer situation. Only less punk.

-Owen (who sometimes appears in the background of the tabern) has a matching vest. Because they're besties.

-Originally, he had sandals. But I changed that cause they seemed a bit uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. And also they were harder to draw.

-He got hired by Bdubs, hence the stars on his pants.

-The stars around his head are only for aesthetic purposes. I have no lore explanation for those. They just looked neat
