oh WONDERFUL question tessa i am so sorry i left this stewing in my askbox for so long that your old blog is now deactivated SCREAM. okay but here are my takes

(this is with the assumption jo, ellen and charlie never died and are therefore older when they meet the wayward gang)

jo, charlie and donna are all exactly the same age so i think they all bond together very quickly. sapphic polycule time fr. also jocharlie is of course a traditionally popular sapphicnatural ship and we all know my personal obsession with charliedonna BUT jodonna may also be incredible incredibly inspired. donna has a much healthier relationship to hunting than jo, and also entered into it much later in life. jo has a badassery and charm which i thinkk donna would really dig and basically blondie4blondie what could go wrong.

obviously my instinct is to put ellen and jody together buttt i'm not sure how great they'd actually be. they both have very strong opinions and some pretty decent tempers so i'm not sure if they'd be too similar to really jam. also, they both deserve lives outside being defined as Mother Figure and i think when they get together they might end up chatting about raising kids single-handedly and losing your husband very young so not the lightest convos to segue into a relationship.

@magdaclaire has of course written the incredible ellen/missouri fics though so i think ellen meeting missouri's granddaughter with patience would be quite a formative experience for her. and also, ellen interacting with a bunch of young female hunters who are so capable and remind her so much of jo... she probably cries many tears for times past and present

jo takes one look at claire and claire takes one look at jo and they are literal friends for life jo is essentially her aunt. jo in her 30s mentoring a 19 year old claire is like. yeah. fixing me
