I heard brain rot? Yeah. I’ve got it bad too

Time scooped Sky up and started out of this place when Sky protested.

“I can walk, Time. I’m not that badly injured…” Time could almost hear the rest of his plea as he squirmed in Time’s grip. Not useless. Not a burden. Please…

“I know.” He tightened his grip, allowing himself a moment to bury his face in Sky’s hair. “Please, Chosen. Allow me this assurance that my boys are safe now.” He recognized the haunted look in Warriors’s eyes. The one that said that he couldn’t do this with the Captain and that the man probably would struggle with any sort of contact until he could banish the memory of the sorceress' hands on him. Out of the two separated boys, they’d seen the least of Warriors as Cia severed the connection from the mirror at her whim and to do what she pleased without witnesses. He could imagine all too well what had happened when the mirror went dark. At his plea, Sky’s struggle and protest stilled, and he allowed Time to carry him.

(From my need to have soft Time and Sky stuff that wouldn’t leave my head until I’d written at least this far)

okay! so lets talk calamity jason, this is just an excuse for me to 1) reread some old faves 2) read some new faves cause i want to understand the blorbos and 3) shove more headcanons than can possibly ever fit into my lil tumblin posts

so this whole thing started as an off hand comment to local of @/localizationed fame about how jason kinda reminded me of hua cheng lmao (theyre also obv very different but the comment was Enough) and i was like lmao what if jay was just Literally a vengeful ghost and then AUs

i really want to explore chinese jason here, as lady shiva being his mom is one of my favorite theories (which is basically supported by canon, plus or minus a little tweaking) also!!! jason and cass being siblings with vastly different philosophies of violence and justice as products of their respective upbringings are just so fun to think about

im also including duke a Lot in my story plans just cause 1) i like him and 2) i am giving jason a lot of sky/sun/stars symbolism and there is one other bat that has that in Spades it feels wrong to basically give jay some fusion/solar flare powers without Also including duke's meta powers (even if at this point in the story duke legit didn't exist)

this is shaping up to be a very jason cass duke story line, steph will be showing up pretty soon (as indicated by the ending of chap 5!)

i want a satisfying ending with some good dad bruce im sorry for the haters but i like it when bruce has any amount of character development, doug thomas is already holding the weight of me projecting my dad onto him, he needs the backup (actually dukes parents are really a chance for me to fulfill my quota of giving One of these mfers good parents)

this is literally the header of my working document, it sums up my feelings on the direction this is all going quite nicely

jason as a vehicle for my rage at the writers who killed off steph without so much as a by your leave? its more likely than you think

he has a distance shortening knight chess piece, black water loves him a Theme

i have a crack scene written of jason calmly flipping over tables in metropolis when he wants to Really Fight

black water spritzed him with water when he was bad, but because hes black water, he just summoned a jet of water and made the spray bottle sound with his mouth

if i was going to have duke's parents jokerized i had a whole thingy where jay takes him in but because thats not going to happen, im thinking about duke's parents low key adopting jay (because who Wouldn't want more parents)

jay has a "demon mode" that he lives in when he's doubting his humanity, it would be big sexy if it wasn't so gosh darn sad

thank u kai, im sure this is more than what was anticipated but i can (and will) talk about this au for hours it has subsumed my brain

Another day another LU analysis with me!

Dawn 9 is here and with it the end of the next arc of the LU comic is done!

This update did a lot and is also a full 10 pages long! So there's a bunch to unpack!

Without further ado!

The letters!

So, Twilight, four and Time all appeared to get letters, with Time getting multiple (More on that later)

Twilights reaction to the super sale was my reaction while playing TP (I recently finished it for the first time! :D) when they opend the store in castle town. Every time i couldnt get there to get potions i was low key gutted.

And Four. Four's grandpa is a mood and i hope we get to meet him.

But... I, as a part of the The team is heading to Skyloft next, team. Believe that Sun has done this on purpose. (Or that the Skyloftians dont have the mail system for him to retrieve anything) but i like to think its the first one.

Hmmm.... Time got multiple letters. (That takes care of the letter discrepancy)

Twi asking about the ranch, Time looking to one of the letters. This tells me one of two things.

The letter he's looking to could be from Malon, and he's genuenly not concerned.

or The letter he's looking at isnt from malon. Infact, by the way he's looking at it i think its from his Zelda. Possibly a report about black bloods in his time period. (As last time we see them in Time's era. They dont actually fight anything)

Twilight being cheeky and Time's dad face are giving me life.

But... as we know, Time is Twilights direct decendant only by a few generations at most. With the infomation we have from Twilight princess with Shade. And from jojo with Time and Twilight. I'm seeing this conversation as more of a father and son conversation over brothers.

And the rest of this conversation follows this same pattern. Twilight is very much being scolded. He's biting back with what he see's as Time's own words. (not that time know's as such)

Twilight looks genuenly shocked to hear this.

From the hero's shade (Time) in twilight princess.

"You may be destined to become the hero of legend...but your current power would disgrace the proud green of the hero's tunic you wear. "

I am screaming

And now im screaming more. Twilight nooooooooooooo

The we care about Twilight's well being gang. Spoiling us with the full body shots againnnnnnn.

Give me more of these three i love them all together.

And I'm convinced that theres going to be something bad happens to time directly after the end of the LU timeline.

Time is missing an eye. So we know that Shade and Time are closer together than the hero of time (In game). SO.... If time dosent Die on the adventure with the chain. I'm almost convinced he does almost right after he returns back to his time.

The armour is almost identical. He has most of the scaring which lines up....

If the helmet turns up, then i think Time dies during this adventure. It's the only thing i can see as missing.

Twilight.... Now i think Twilight thinks that the gods are giving him an opportunity to save the hero of time from dying to become the heros shade. but thats the funky thing about timetravel.

(Depending on how Jojo and LU time travels works.)

I believe that the timetravel in LU solidifies the adventures of the other links. And that nothign that occours in this adventure impacts their adventures. Even if something was changed it wouldnt change the past.

IE - Twilight breaking his shadow crystal wouldnt mean that wild didnt remember having the wolf on his adventure - as its already happened.

(I hope that makes sense. - time travel is confusing i see it as an alternative timeline type thing)

Also Warriors, This is normal link behaviour. Just ask Time. He would eailsy tell you that he rolled around hyrule field.

Sky leading the charge! (I know its cause he knows the way and stuff But...)

It also makes a lot of sense. If Sky is the slowest of the group(Again not confirmed but we have had jokes about his stamina), it makes sense to put him at the front to maintain pace of the group. Stops people going too fast and prevents people from being left behind.

Which i might add has already happened. (Warriors and Hyrule im looking at you.)

We just need to read the boss partterns for a bit so we can then decide how to fight it. You know, like we did when we were in our adventures and had to figure out boss mechanics.

Important that hyrule is saying this as his game is arguably one of the hardest. He probably spent a long time on each boss learning attack patterns.

Oh this arc was fun! So much fun i love it so much okay

The orange glow of what I assume is ultrahand. Which would be it, If this next panel didn't exist.

Wild's eye is glowing orange. The eye which changes colour when he's looking at the orb.

So Wild's eye changes colour based on what ability he is using.

I wonder if it's a group drawing of the war heroes looking at a reference picture while trying to find information would make sense. Depending on the length of time it's been since he was fighting that war.

I reckon he's trying to figure out just who Time is. And has dug out a picture from the war. (Im unsure, do we get Big Brother Captain? Because I live for Big Brother Captain)

interesting we get symbols for these heroes.

What's the problem Time? Are you looking at someone who you recognise and now he's mentioned your hero title you dont want to talk about it?

Look at Malon, She's like 'You have gotta tell him.'

And Captain looks sad about it. Which tells me that he knows and that he's waiting for Time to approach him.

Thats interesting. We know we get Midna as a companion in Hyrule Warriors. And I assume that Fi mentioned Sky at one point.

I sense some Angst in our future.

Sun putting her hand on Sky's shoulder like that gives me life. i love these two a healthy amount okay.

Also these backgrounds are pretty, I love the triangle behind Sun and Sky here. Thats' Wisdom On the triforce (If observed on the left hand). And considering that sun is in the centre of the frame. I find this interesting. Maybe because they are learning a lot of information right now?

Okay, so you may be wondering who says this line on the left here. I was too. I reckon it's Sky. As a shock response to being mentioned by Captain.

Mainly because From the angle of the speech bubble and the location of the heroes in relation to Wild, it only gives a few heroes. Mainly Sky and Sun.

Sky asking this makes sense as he and sun are the newest to the group at this point.

Okay now its the time for the big one'

I've taken the time to translate the words I can identify and have extrapolated the rest of them from there. The language is Sheika, and most of these words are what (From what I understand) Is what Wild himself identifies each hero as.

A little more on this as well.

This circle around this orange arrow. I believe this is the arrow that Wild has chosen for them to approach. Orange if I had to give you a guess is Twilight's colour. Mainly from this bit before.

Backgrounds give a lot of information by themselves. This looks like a Twili portal.

The reason Wild chose that is unknown to me. During one of his adventures, he encountered Wolfie. So it makes sense. Maybe he was able to identify his name as Twilight. Or called the wolf that himself.

I suppose the next arc will give us more information!

I love group photos of any Calabar, it's awesome to see them all together. And watching fabrics flow is detail that I am obsessed with thank you.

Sky's walking stick! I love how inclusive of all sorts of things this AU is i thoroughly enjoy it. He gives me the I can kill you with this walking stick, but also have you met my wife vibes and i love him.

Time and Malon running off like this brings me great joy i love them.

And, sky. Are we talking about your journey or something else cause that's pretty ominous there. foreshadowing? Are we gonna get more about the past of these heroes at one point I'd love to know more about them.

It is a massive Hyrule, espically when you think about just how long it takes to get across each of them in-game. Wild's game it actually takes so long to get across even just Hyrule field.

Time please step back from the edge you're giving me anxiety.

Malon and Time are the absolute chaos of the group. Just look at them, Time has obviously never seen something like this and so him being the one who's like basically fallen over here makes so much sense.

I was thinking about it tho... And the sailcloths they are identical. And we know they are married...

What if the sailcloths are a sign of marriage in this universe? Why else would they both have the same one, down to the blue outline on the edge that is closest to them. Like you give your lover a meaningful symbol to show your love for them, and in Sky's case he made a sailcloth for sun after she made the one he's wearing for him during the events of Skyward sword.

I think its the same one because his one looks significantly bigger than hers, which to me tells of a practical use as well as a decorative or symbolic piece. 332

Like im probably reading too much into this but then again. They are so cute that they would actually do that.

Have I mentioned how much I love Captain? Cause he is just so chill, but also professional. Professionally chill? Sure.

I can see a stressful situation coming up, and he just is the stoic leader who gets everyone in line and ready to fight the threat.

And flower, Who is just so sweet. I can understand not wanting to be referred to as princess now that their Hyrule is like how it is. I'm surprised this hasn't come up sooner. But it's cute.

Oh the silent princess. How symbolic you are.

I know people are not really into the flower thing but I am, you think we will see some nightshade at one point?

The flower.

The 2 flower heads, one open, one closed, The blue into white. With the yellow detail. It's Flowers colour pallet to a T and I love it. Maybe as we progress through the story we will see pictures of the silent princess again but with a flowering bud or maybe if something bad happens a slightly sad looking one?

I am obsessed with symbolism, so if those become a thing watch this space cause I will be excited about it!

(In fact looking at it I think, the stem in the middle and the yellow on her clothes are colour-matched. A nice detail!)

🗡️Well... If we are talking my fave version from Linked universe is Sky, But if we are talking about Sacred realm, its Sky. If we are talking about Recalled, (where we haven't met him yet) It's, Sky. Bonus links Loft etc.

Basically, anywhere where our fave Skyloftian shows up it's him. And if he's not around it's the Captain. I've become more fond of the more I angst and whump him over the last few months.

(Look at how behaved I was, totally not unhinged when it comes to him okay it's fine... Blorbo beloved....)

🐦Oh this is a tough one, As I've got a bunch for hylians but none for anyone else. So let's use them, I like to think of Hylians a little like Cats? They have a heightened sense of hearing and can turn and twitch their ears to help them identify where a noise is coming from.. They also have better night vision than normal.

(I know cats do this but this is unresearched i just have cats)

👍Honestly I love the Legend has violet eyes, it's wonderful and I use it everywhere. But I can't remember for the life of me who's it is! (Please tell me if you know cause I don't and it makes me feel bad that I can't remember)

For the commentary ask game this fic from your whumptober Is the latest living rent free in my head

Another bolt of lightning cracked open the sky. Flashing through his eyes as memories surfaced. The shadow of pain exploded through his right arm as he held it. He could feel Fi pulsing calming thoughts on his back. The gentle strumming of the goddess harp flowed through his ears as she tried to soothe him.

He had to stand up. Please. Sky. Stand. Up. Maybe you should breathe. Deep breaths Sky.

He couldn’t, he couldn’t as much as he tried. He couldn’t.

The rain battered him more and more, soaking his clothes, and weighing him down like a boulder was forced on his chest. Lightning flashed across the sky and thunder rolled across the air as the storm continued in intensity. The sky blackened more as lightning continued to flash in his eyes. The scars on his right arm flared as he could feel the burning.

“My hate… never perishes. It is born anew in a cycle with no end.”

No…

No no no no. He was dead. Demise was dead. He couldn’t be speaking. His breathing quickened as his body began to shake. Please. Please.

A sound in the distance. Four feet, running.

“Sky?”

A voice broke through the rain. The sound of Hooves as something galloped across it. There was something else as well, but he couldn’t quite make it out.

“Sky? Where are you?!”

Who could that be? It didn’t sound like Twilight, and he was one of only a few of them who could ride.

“Sky! Sky can you hear me!?”

Time. Time had come looking for him.

“Sky?! Oh, Hylia above! Sky!”

He couldn’t look up, he was so cold. Fear had crept into the deepest depths of his soul. The lightning, the flashes, the pain. Demise would come for him. He felt himself shiver, his hair sticking to his face as the storm continued its never-ending assault on his mind and body.

He heard a transformation, a second form appearing in the rain. Lantern light illuminating the area around them. “Sweet Ordonia…” The rancher's voice was quiet, not usual for him.

Oh man, living rent free huh? Are you thinking how i could continue it? Cause I am.

Stormy Skies, Panicked heart

This is easily one of my faves!!!!!!!! Thanks for your interest, oh I'm excited to get into this one!

Okay, Okay. So I love this piece in general, and it's probably one of my fave if not my fave Whumptober story that I did this year. Like oh man I love it.

This particular passage, I'm gonna explain in the two half's. The bit with Sky on his own. And the bit where he begins to hear Time and Twilight looking for him.

This is a long one again! And is a little all over the place cause its more rambly than my normal answer posts. Because I am chaos. So we go for the feed saver again :)

Alright, We begin!!!

So Sky's section.

We should all know by now how much I love bullying the boy. The sweet Blorbo beloved. And this is another example, yes Sky is a god killer, Yes he's arguably the most powerful of the chain, only possibly matched by Time if someone had to try. But the man is still going to have some form of insecurities. Much the same with Legend. Storms are always a good one to work with generally because you can do a lot with the descriptors to change the feeling. I love working with weather in general, but I don't do it very often cause it's easy to lose your footing. (Or at least I know I can get carried away when using them.)

My thought process went to, how can I make this show how afraid. Something that shows just how afraid he is of what Demise did to him. Just cause demise died and he didn't, the Link that went into that fight was not the same one that left it. The scars on his arms and across his body are clear examples of that.

I am in the camp of Sky's Triforce Symbol being on his right hand, and that also being his main hand in combat. Unlike the others. who all have it on their left. So the scaring on his arm caused by the energy and pure power and hate that he would have had to fight during his fight has left magical scaring on his arm that flares in thunderstorms.

What's going on in Sky's head?

Well, thats in the passage. It makes the writing a little confusing to follow, I've been told in the past, but it shows precisely how muddled this storm has made him. Flipping from what is the narrator to his mind and back again, I hope makes you think more and more.

In the last section, I tried to make the sentences a short as I could. As his panic and fear reach what I would dictate as the peak during this story. He is afraid, he is lost and he needs help.

Now we get Time and Twilight

Fun fact, when I originally drafted this, I had Time and Wild/Warriors looking for Sky. It seemed like a weird combo but it was mainly cause they could all ride horses. I switched to Twilight relatively late in the draft as I felt it just worked better. Wolfie is fast, and Time with Epona would know the field better than anyone else. Wolfie is also a wolf. And you know. Is a good boy and can find things with scent.

It was also changed cause I wanted more interaction with these three. They need more.

This second section is more broken up than the first part, as to distinguish the thoughts to the narrators. Sky's thoughts are also a little more put together. As the voice breaks through the rain which essentially makes a curtain. Then the lamp light to make that break a little clearer.

Now, Sky recognises it's Time. Thats on its own between two patches of dialogue, both of which are from Time. The next form of movement is a shiver. where he was shaking before. It brings him back to his reality. He's cold. Stuck in the storm. As he's on the ground. Weighed down by fear.

Now Sky is still not out of the woods. He is still gripped by panic and fear, but something in him feels a little safer. And so lets them do what they must.

Generally, I've tried to leave this Fic a little open-ended, so I could continue it. (Mainly cause after the shenanigans that were whumptober I need to write me some fluff.) And this fic is the perfect one to do so!
