New DESI results strengthen hints that dark energy may evolve
The Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument used millions of galaxies and quasars to build the largest 3D map of our universe to date. Combining the DESI data with other experiments shows signs that the impact of dark energy may be weakening over time
The fate of the universe hinges on the balance between matter and dark energy: the fundamental ingredient that drives its accelerating expansion. New results from the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) collaboration use the largest 3D map of our universe ever made to track dark energy’s influence over the past 11 billion years. Researchers see hints that dark energy, widely thought to be a “cosmological constant,” might be evolving over time in unexpected ways.
DESI is an international experiment with more than 900 researchers from over 70 institutions around the world and is managed by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab). The collaboration shared their findings today in multiple papers that will be posted on the online repository arXiv and in a presentation at the American Physical Society’s Global Physics Summit in Anaheim, California.
“What we are seeing is deeply intriguing,” said Alexie Leauthaud-Harnett, co-spokesperson for DESI and a professor at UC Santa Cruz. “It is exciting to think that we may be on the cusp of a major discovery about dark energy and the fundamental nature of our universe.”
Taken alone, DESI’s data are consistent with our standard model of the universe: Lambda CDM (where CDM is cold dark matter and Lambda represents the simplest case of dark energy, where it acts as a cosmological constant). However, when paired with other measurements, there are mounting indications that the impact of dark energy may be weakening over time and that other models may be a better fit. Those other measurements include the light leftover from the dawn of the universe (the cosmic microwave background or CMB), exploding stars (supernovae), and how light from distant galaxies is warped by gravity (weak lensing).
“We’re guided by Occam’s razor, and the simplest explanation for what we see is shifting,” said Will Percival, co-spokesperson for DESI and a professor at the University of Waterloo. “It’s looking more and more like we may need to modify our standard model of cosmology to make these different datasets make sense together — and evolving dark energy seems promising.”
So far, the preference for an evolving dark energy has not risen to “5 sigma,” the gold standard in physics that represents the threshold for a discovery. However, different combinations of DESI data with the CMB, weak lensing, and supernovae datasets range from 2.8 to 4.2 sigma. (A 3-sigma event has a 0.3% chance of being a statistical fluke, but many 3-sigma events in physics have faded away with more data.) The analysis used a technique to hide the results from the scientists until the end, mitigating any unconscious bias about the data.
“We're in the business of letting the universe tell us how it works, and maybe the universe is telling us it's more complicated than we thought it was,” said Andrei Cuceu, a postdoctoral researcher at Berkeley Lab and co-chair of DESI’s Lyman-alpha working group, which uses the distribution of intergalactic hydrogen gas to map the distant universe. “It's interesting and gives us more confidence to see that many different lines of evidence are pointing in the same direction.”
DESI is one of the most extensive surveys of the cosmos ever conducted. The state-of-the-art instrument, which capture light from 5,000 galaxies simultaneously, was constructed and is operated with funding from the DOE Office of Science. DESI is mounted on the U.S. National Science Foundation’s Nicholas U. Mayall 4-meter Telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory (a program of NSF NOIRLab) in Arizona. The experiment is now in its fourth of five years surveying the sky, with plans to measure roughly 50 million galaxies and quasars (extremely distant yet bright objects with black holes at their cores) by the time the project ends.
The new analysis uses data from the first three years of observations and includes nearly 15 million of the best measured galaxies and quasars. It’s a major leap forward, improving the experiment’s precision with a dataset that is more than double what was used in DESI’s first analysis, which also hinted at an evolving dark energy.
“It’s not just that the data continue to show a preference for evolving dark energy, but that the evidence is stronger now than it was,” said Seshadri Nadathur, professor at the University of Portsmouth and co-chair of DESI’s Galaxy and Quasar Clustering working group. “We’ve also performed many additional tests compared to the first year, and they’re making us confident that the results aren't driven by some unknown effect in the data that we haven't accounted for.”
DESI tracks dark energy’s influence by studying how matter is spread across the universe. Events in the very early universe left subtle patterns in how matter is distributed, a feature called baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO). That BAO pattern acts as a standard ruler, with its size at different times directly affected by how the universe was expanding. Measuring the ruler at different distances shows researchers the strength of dark energy throughout history. DESI’s precision with this approach is the best in the world.
“For a couple of decades, we’ve had this standard model of cosmology that is really impressive,” said Willem Elbers, a postdoctoral researcher at Durham University and co-chair of DESI’s Cosmological Parameter Estimation working group, which works out the numbers that describe our universe. “As our data are getting more and more precise, we’re finding potential cracks in the model and realizing we may need something new to explain all the results together.”
The collaboration will soon begin work on additional analyses to extract even more information from the current dataset, and DESI will continue collecting data. Other experiments coming online over the next several years will also provide complementary datasets for future analyses.
“Our results are fertile ground for our theory colleagues as they look at new and existing models, and we’re excited to see what they come up with,” said Michael Levi, DESI director and a scientist at Berkeley Lab. "Whatever the nature of dark energy is, it will shape the future of our universe. It's pretty remarkable that we can look up at the sky with our telescopes and try to answer one of the biggest questions that humanity has ever asked.”

Ok, so I was looking through the Encyclopedia trying to see if I can maybe place what era the Chain is currently in with the Skulltula design.
Now, it should be noted at this moment I am working under the assumption that this Skulltula is native to this era. With that being said, analysis time.
So the Chain is (if we are assuming the Skulltula is native to this era) is not in an era in the Downfall Timeline. Skulltulas are present in every timeline but the Downfall Timeline.
Originally, I was pretty confident that despite what Twilight said, they were somewhere near his era, but after a little more research, I think they are somewhere bewteen Sky and Time's era. Technically, that would mean it's possibly around Four's era but to my knowledge Skulltulas are not a known enemy for him.

It shares most features with Time's era's Skulltula (note the mostly white skull abdomen, yellow/black legs, and red eyes) but it has spiky bits on its abdomen only seen on Skyward Sword's Skulltula.
I'll make the bold assumptions that this temple is Ocarina of Time's Forest Temple before there was a full forest.
Alternatively, it's a grounded version of the Palace of Winds. Visually, it shares details and could help explain why there are statutes that Twilight can control with his Dominion Rod because it's a Temple from the Oocca race.

This is a project analyzing and taking a look at the fashion design and application in the multimedia series, The IDOLM@STER: Shiny Colors. This section is about the classic idol star and sky-themed unit of the series, illumination STARS! If you want to jump to a specific section, go here!

UNIT PROFILE

UNIT COSTUME ANALYSIS
Foreword: This is the first thread I wrote, so it’s going to be a bit all over the place, but the later sections are much more organized and consistent… Nevertheless, thanks for reading!
The poster unit of Shiny Colors, illumination STARS is comprised of the red, blue, and yellow representatives of the branch. Like the other iM@S “traffic light” units, their costumes have of simple but classic idol elements as well as symbology representing their branch.
Using their costume “Sparkle Illumination,” I’ve shown some examples of classic idol elements and Shiny Colors symbology that are present in illumination STARS’s unit ensembles. These themes will be expanded on in their other costumes’ analyses later!
The third theme, “Individuality in Unity,” describes how their costumes, though similar in design, have minute changes in detail to show off the members’ unique personalities. As the members are the red/blue/yellow reps of Shiny, this theme is central to their dynamic as a unit.
Here their costumes “Siriusly Crown” and “Planetes Series” are showcasing the theme “Individuality in Unity.” The variation in details can be seen in many idol costumes, but it’s very prevalent in iS’s costumes to symbolize their typical “red/blue/yellow” traits.
This isn’t to say that iS is a basic “red/blue/yellow” unit though. The members’ personalities deviate from the typical “red/blue/yellow” traits: Mano (introverted and shy), Hiori (self-conscious and emotionally charged), and Meguru (lonely and sensitive). But more on that later!

UNIT COSTUME #1 - Sparkle Illumination (スパークルイルミネーション)



“Sparkle Illumination” is iS’s main unit costume, and is the most representative of the unit, their core themes, and aestethic. The name references the branch name, Shiny Colors, as well as their unit name, illumination STARS.

Speaking of symbology, this costume shares a lot in common with the branch-wide main costume, “Beyond the Blue Sky.” Their shared elements (seen in picture) and them both being the first costumes you ever see in the game symbolize the first flight into the sky with the player.

Though the costume is mostly the same across all members, there are some minute differences in detail that show the individuality and personality of Mano, Hiori, and Meguru. As seen in the graphic, it is mainly in the sleeves and bottoms.

Bringing back this image from earlier, the classic idol elements, sky/space motifs, and color scheme of “Sparkle Illumination” represent their newness to the idol world as well as their (seemingly typical) desire to “illuminate” the idol world with their own unique color.

UNIT COSTUME #2 - Siriusly Crown (シリウスリークラウン)
“Siriusly Crown” is iS’s second unit costume, the first part of the name being a play on Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky, & the word “seriously.” The costume represents Mano, Hiori, & Meguru earnestly chasing their dreams of becoming the brightest idols in the world.



As hinted by the name, this costume has a very heavy star motif. Their bottoms feature a pastel starry galaxy and gold stars adorn their bodies in their bows, armbands, and chains. The frills, bows, preppy tops, and soft pastels give the costume a softer edge.
Compared to “Sparkle Illumination” which focused more on classic idol elements & the “wing/sky” motif, Siriusly Crown leans in more into the “space” theming of their unit and shows more variation between their respective costumes. Both costumes have the same star armbands.
Though “Siriusly Crown” has the same color scheme throughout all the costumes, there are many detail variations that emphasize the individuality of each member. Mano’s is pure and fairytale-like, Hiori’s is classy and chic, and Meguru’s is sporty and bright.

This picture elaborates more on the variation in costume between Mano, Hiori, and Meguru and how it showcases their charm and unique personalities. For Siriusly Crown, the most difference is in their top and bottom styles which tells the viewer more about them visually.
Siriusly Crown’s design heavily references Mano as the center, leader, & the glue that holds the unit together. The majority of the costume is light pinks and lilacs (colors that Mano wears in later costumes), while dark blue and gold are accents, giving dimension to the costume.
Along with the color scheme, the symmetric detailing signals to the viewer that Mano is the center/leader of iS and is the unit’s core. Hiori/Meguru’s details having similar but opposite placements denotes their supporting of Mano, being an irreplaceable part of the team.

UNIT COSTUME #3: Twinkly Cheerful (トゥインクリーチアフル)



“Twinkly Cheerful” is illumination STARS’ third unit costume. “Twinkly” obviously refers to their unit name, & just like with Siriusly Crown, a very heavy star motif. This costume’s theme is joy in unity, holding hands to transform into idols magical-girl style, hence “cheerful.”
This costume shares many elements with past costumes “Sparkle Illumination” and “Siriusly Crown,” as seen in the graphic. It combines the classic idol costume feel of Sparkle Illumination with the heavy sky/space symbolism of Siriusly Crown with a “popstar” aesthetic.
Because the concept of this costume is “unity,” the costumes are mostly similar with small differences in the tops and the sleeves. Even their hairstyles are similar high ponytails. Mano is still identifiable as the center, but the costumes look much more unified.
Twinkly Cheerful leans heavy into the western “popstar” look with the starwing insignia, polkadot sheer fabric, furs, dual-color headbands, cropped top, & in-ear mic, reminiscent of a poppy girl group. In a way, they’ve transformed (see animation) into the idols of their dreams.

UNIT COSTUME #4: Planetes Series | Stella / Luna / Sol (プラテネスシリーズ | ステラ・ルーナ・ソール)
“Planetes Series” is illumination STARS’ fourth set of unit costumes and features the idols as angelic guardians of a city lost to time. These outfit mark a new direction these & later costumes take the “sky/space” theme, presenting the girls as higher powers or cosmic forces.



“Planetes Series” is the only illumination STARS unit costume that has separate names for each variation. Planetes Sol (Meguru) represents the sun/day, Planetes Luna (Hiori) represents the moon/night, & Planetes Stella (Mano) represents shooting stars/dawn.
Compared to all of the costumes we’ve seen so far, “Planetes Series” has the most variation in costume between the idols with different color schemes, fabrics, and textures. However, shared core elements and explicit theming assist in connecting them together.
In the Planetes Series, each idol represents a form of illumination in the sky, a “star” type, as well as a period in the diurnal cycle. True to their unit name, each idol illuminates a distinct time of day using their own “star” (sun/stars/shooting stars).

Mano’s position as leader/center is reinforced in these costumes as she represents dawn/dusk, the liminal states between day (Meguru) & night (Hiori). Unlike the sun or moon that are seen only at day/night, shooting stars are seen at the cusp between night and day.

Poem: The Fox's Affection
This poem was specifically written for a side-challenge of the event, where we were encouraged to make an offering to Gumiho in the form of a piece of art. The nine-tailed fox drawing I made was paired with this one. This poem also netted me the win for this challenge, which I am very proud of!
The Fox’s Affection
Her eyes reflect the sky’s and seas’ blues,
Her fur’s a great many red and yellow hues.
She decorates herself with gold jewellery bright,
Though her fox marble she keeps safe inside,
Yet from the public her splendid self she does not hide
For the sight of people brings her ample delight.
Her tails look soft-
Her claws are sheathed-
Her tails look soft, but you best not touch.
Her claws are sheathed, but she can still scratch.
With her coat touched by the sun,
She prances around having her fun.
Peaches are her most favourite of all time,
As sure as the number of her tails is nine.
A nine-tailed fox once a cub has not forgotten her roots.
Under her soft gaze little foxes play in the woods.
At the bundles of fur quietly she coos,
Every foolish predator away she shoos.
Early spring brings a new begin’,
Little cubs fill the dens to the brim.
This family of foxes, are they her true kin?
It does not matter, filial piety to all she will bring.
There behind branches and leaves,
Hidden where precious life grows,
Where no human is dropping eaves,
Her true heart and temper she shows.
This kind yao, her we now beseech.
A vixen people can no longer relegate to infamy,
For who cannot relate to the love for one’s family.
The little red fox, gift her a peach!
Don’t expect much in return just do her this kindness,
For a happy little fox is a sight that can cure blindness.
So let’s get into the analysis for this really long poem!
The title becomes self-explanatory around the midpoint. The ‘affection’ is referring to Gumiho’s love for peaches and her kin with a little bit of her people watching hobby sprinkled in for good measure. It is intentionally misleading and meant to make the reader think it will be about a lover when it is about family. (Intentional on my part at least. On my character’s though? Not so much, in world it is just an amusing little coincidence.)
This time the number of stanzas and verses has little meaning except that seven can be a good number for relationships in Chinese numerology. That the first and last stanza each having six verses while the remaining ones only have four merely has an aesthetically value.
With how long this poem is there are basically two parts to it. The first part focuses on Gumiho’s appearance, identity as a yaoguai and apparent personality. Meanwhile the second one revolves around her past and love for her fellow foxes as well as her softer side. Of course I am also referencing her visiting the woods to see the foxes living there.
The fox marble or fox bead of a gumiho is said to consist of knowledge and the gumiho usually keeps it inside of her. It can be used by her to steal a human’s soul and is very valuable to the gumiho as it is providing her with power. If a human manages to swallow it they will gain special abilities/preternatural knowledge if they manage to observe the sky, the land and the people.
There is a bit of a parallel at the end of the first and last stanza with the reference to watching a creature bringing the observer joy, showing in a more subtle way that the yaoguai in question and humans are not so different in what can make them happy.
Now let me share with you a rejected verse that would have gone into the first stanza right after the jewellery verse: ‘Glistening under her fox fire’s light.’ I ultimately decided to take this one out for two reasons. Both because I wanted to keep the number of verses even for the flow and because I was not sure if fox fire is even a part of her set of powers as that is an ability more in line with kitsune rather than gumiho.
In the second stanza consist once more of two pairs of verses in line with a classic Chinese style of poetry. One of these will likely show up in most poems of mine as I really enjoy this style personally. Either way the topic of her tails and claws is connected to her fur and jewellery mentioned in the first stanza. It is the fur of her tails that is soft and she wears golden nail guards matching her gold jewellery. Additionally ‘touch’ and ‘scratch’ both refer to a manner of physical interaction and are mentioned in succession as the first action described would result in the second.
The following stanza not only addresses her personality, but also acts as a transition to the second part of the poem starting on what she likes to do. The line about Gumiho’s coat being touched by the sun has a dual meaning here. For one it is the colouration of course, but it can also refer to her playing in the sun and enjoying its warmth similarly how foxes like to do.
The next two stanzas are a pair, the first one focusing on the cubs and the second one bringing up the parents with both being about her familial connection to foxes. Both also carry the same rhyme scheme.
The sixth stanza mostly came about because I wanted to implement a cross rhyme as well and not just couplet and mono rhymes and evolved further meaning. Branches and leaves of a tree are often used allegorically for family trees not to mention that they are living plants as well, so they are equally symbolic of the growing nature, growing cubs and growing fox families.
There is also a slight juxtaposition of the outer world revolving around nature and animals like these foxes and the inner world of here specifically Gumiho. This is also mirrored in the mention of humans who are heavily focused on the mind so the inner world, something that Gumiho has achieved through cultivating into sapience as well, while the outer world is more focused on the body.
Additionally in the first and last verse two things are mentioned each with ‘branches and leaves’ and ‘heart and temper’, while ‘where’ is present both in the second and third. The cross rhyme also shows how intertwined the outer and inner world is for Gumiho.
The last stanza is mostly flattery towards Gumiho, which is also sprinkled in throughout the poem, but it also reflects the two part nature of the poem and by extension Gumiho with its first half equally referring to Gumiho as a yao and the second focusing once more on her fox kin nature. Also in character the author definitely thought of the adorable sight of an actual little fox enjoying fruit when writing the last three verses, hence the ‘little’.

hi guys lets analyse this poem that c!wilbur wrote about Las Nevadas! I’m gonna go through line-by-line then come to a conclusion just like a secondary school poetry analysis essay yass, ill do it under a cut seeing as i think this is gonna get pretty long.
“I am the gilding of the gold” the first line in the poem establishes how c!wilbur view’s las nevadas as a whole, it summarises his thoughts about it both as a “structure” and as its function within the SMP. “gilding” the the process of layering a thin layer of gold over something, in order to give it the impression of being entirely gold, or to add frivolity to the item. something important about the gilding process is that usually, because the gold is so reflective and is very thin, it makes imperfections in the item below it easier to see.
c!wilbur comparing las nevadas to the gilding process shows us two things he thinks, he thinks that the country is in some way fake/ covering up for something, and he thinks that this covering up makes las nevadas appear more valuable than it actually is. I would even go so far as to say that he is comparing c!quackity to the “gold” in this metaphor. c!wilbur could be implying that c!quackity is using las nevadas as a gilding in order to appear more valuable/ more important than he truly is.
“i am the painting of the lily” we all know that lillies can represent grief, so one aspect of this line is fairly straight-forward. Lillies can also represent love, and purity as well, which i think is something that c!wilbur himself feels in multitudes towards c!quackity, he obviously wants to compete with him, this is a form of love itself, but there is also a kind of grief there with their shared history. and this bleeds into c!wilbur’s view of las nevadas, its a grief and love that he feels for his own failure to lead a country. But another aspect of the line is that the lily in question is a painted one. this connotates again, a fakeness that c!wilbur feels that las nevadas holds. the lily isnt real, so therefore las nevadas isnt real, so therefore it isnt as real as any feelings that c!wilbur had surrounding L’manburg, it isnt worth as much.
“i am the crushing of the sand, i am the tirading tide of bland” i combined these lines because in wilbur’s reading of the poem, these lines particularly flowed into eachother in the rythm of the poem. the crushing of sand refers, obviously, to las nevadas’ location of a desert, but could also be refering to feeling “ground down” by ones environment. las nevadas is something of which its immense weight will crush you and overwhelm you. overwhelm with ehat exacty? well we get our answer in the next line: it overwhelms you with how bland it is. the pervasive theme of fakeness carries through to this line too. the consistant bland-ness and emptiness that c!wilbur feels from las nevadas is crushing him, and weighing him down to the point of almost sweeping him away in the “tide”.
“i am the taunting silver light which penetrates and scars the sky” to c!wilbur, las nevadas is an eyesore. it’s an ugly creation which he feels taunted by, and seemingly hates to look at. its invasive.
“i am the remenants of hopes and dreams of all good men that come to die” this could be foreshadowing to whats to come further in the short story. it also represents how c!wilbur thinks of the rest of the people in las nevadas (likely including c!quackity, he once thought of him as a good man)
“i am the surgeon’s chromium dagger” i think the “surgeon” here is referring to quackity, i think the choice of dagger is interesting here. surgeons perform very precise operations that require precise equiptment, yet the surgeon in this metaphor is weilding a dagger, a weapon which is not at all careful or precise. this could represent that c!wilbur feels that while c!quackity is a precise and careful person, his “dagger” that he is choosing to weild, is clumsy and not effective for whatever he is trying to do, its basically going to cause more harm than good for the “patients”
“i am the turgid las nevadas” we finally get a name for the perspective of the poem in the last line, where las nevadas refers to itself as “turgid”. again, doubling down on the idea of las nevadas being needlessly frivilous and fake.. “pompous” as the definition puts it.
c!wilbur views las nevadas as a frivilous, ingenuine, eye-sore, that c!quackity is utilising for his own betterment against all logic and reason. seeing las nevadas makes c!wilbur grieve, both for the loss of his own country, and partially for the president of this new one.

Great analysis! You’re right on point!! I had the pleasure of boarding this scene and I’m so glad you picked up on a lot of the symbolism here. You’ll also notice Douxie, despite being told there is nothing that can be done, tells Jim that they will find a way to reverse his ailment.
It’s a huge part of who he is that even in this moment where he as to abide by Merlin’s orders he is still fighting for what he believes in, the need to fight relentlessly to save a life. He makes a promise he has full intention to keep, but it’s the very opposite of what Merlin would have done.
Other fun things to notice in this scene is the staging. You’ll notice Douxie is backed by the turning gears and green light of the Heart of Avalon. I staged him there because the chaotic spinning of the gears alluded to his chaotic turmoil emotionally and internally. And the green light symbolizes Merlin. Together the gears and the lighting are Merlin’s words and his way pressing down on Douxie’s soldiers and his conscience.
As contrast, Claire is backed by the square, rigid lines of the castle wall. She is rigid and is desperately pulling him towards what she believes is stability or something that can guarantee his survival. You’ll also notice directionality here. Left symbolizes staying in the past and going right means returning to the present. You’ll notice Claire pulls Jim leftward, and Douxie pulls him right.
But one key moment is the hand clasp (also the profile shot) where you are neither looking left (where Claire pulled him towards the past) nor are you looking right (at the Heart of Avalon). You look center, and this center symbolizes Douxie fighting for a third option. It is neither left (disruption of time, altered life by staying in the past) and it is neither right (returning to the present/certain doom). He is promising that he will help them find a way to save Jim, and to trust him.
That’s why that dialogue is specifically staged over those shots, and the hand clasp at that angle. In the boards, I actually had his bracer hand up, so you saw the blue light of his magic which was also symbolic of Douxie finding a third option, but they just had his right hand in the final (shucks!!! My symbolism!!).
If you also look closely at the composition you’ll also notice Claire and Jim are separated by the Bg elements, wall vs sky. And when Jim turns to tell Claire the news... You guessed it, he’s backed by the green rotating gears representative of Merlin. He is breaking to her the messed up reality that Merlin forewarned him of.
Anywhere you see those gears and the green, it’s the weight of this decision pressing on the characters. And you already remarked on the end of the scene where Douxie takes accountability for his action. The staging there follows everything I just described as well, as does the lighting!!
Anyway, fun little tidbits for you! That was a super fun scene to craft, a lot of visual language and symbolism in there, all reinforcing and emphasizing the emotional state of the characters and their struggles :)

Teny, having the person behind the story telling me exactly the kind of symbolism she intended in a scene is just... absolute gold. I love symbolism and parallelism and how narrative, characterization, and meaning are all supported by every tool in the visual narrative box. And as a fan-turning-pro, I’m still learning a LOT and commentary like this helps me see just how much care and thought went into this show, and validates the gut reaction all us fans have had about how narratively masterful Wizards (and the TOA universe) really is.
Like the directional symbolism! That blew my mind! Cuz in the end, we have Douxie leading them rightward (to the future), through Merlin’s green light, but guided fundamentally by his own staff’s blue and thus his own conscience. Also I wonder if the stable arcs behind Doux in that last GIF are a mirror to the unstable ones of Merlin’s Heart of Avalon––a way of pointing out that although Douxie is following the pattern set by Merlin’s shifting moral compass, he’s still holding to Claire’s stability. Using Merlin’s magic, but with his more constant, noble morality. (And going off that, these arcs mirror each other by cascading upward in opposite directions––Merlin’s arcs rising to the right and to the future, and Doux’s rising to the left and to the past, or Claire’s moral standard.)
Also the fact that Merlin’s Avalon arcs rotate downward in such a way that they cut through/push down on Douxie’s head, with an especially high-contrast panel––Unlike when he’s making the promise, in which the Heart of Avalon fades just a tad into the background and doesn’t rotate down on him so much as around him. In framing Douxie against the Heart, the shots move from a Medium Full Shot to a Medium Closeup and finally to a Closeup when he makes the promise––making him slowly larger against Merlin’s Heart of Avalon, his own morality against Merlin’s philosophy. Exquisite combination of prop design, lighting, shots, and narrative symbolism.
And the lighting you mentioned!! Jim’s is red, Merlin’s green, Douxie's blue. Claire’s is purple, but here it’s also the natural, human light of the doorway she’s trying to draw Jim towards. And like you said, Jim choosing Merlin’s path puts him in the backdrop of the Heart of Avalon, bringing Claire into that moral space too. Now this sweet Jlaire moment is heightened by tension just knowing this symbolism!!!
I always loved the interplay of Merlin’s green magic with Douxie’s hair, and knowing your intentional purpose in clashing them makes me all the more excited for scenes like the one before Charlemagne destroys the staff, because the green in Doux’s hair is almost as strong as the blue––showing how much he doesn’t want to let go of Merlin, and how much his staff and his presence is overwhelming his own sense of self and confidence.
Thank you, Teny, for sharing your incredible thought process behind this pivotal scene and letting us know the kind of visual narrative techniques you’ve used to bring out the drama and poignancy of everyone involved. Your love for these characters and this show is truly inspiring. I’ve just started my animation degree at San Jose State University and interactions like yours inspires me to know that the kind of professional I want to be is out there making art, being a storyteller, nerding out, and being awesome. Welcome to gaylor tumblr!!! I'm a swiftgron but excited for some balanced kaylor takes. could you do a minipost of all the karlie references taylor did with lover era promo (like the butterfly mural)? TSYM and welcome again!!!
Thank you for the welcome! I’ve been on here for years but haven’t been gaylor on main in years! AND EVERYONE IS SO NICE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love that people are open to multiple interpretations and one of them is that we’re all clowns who know nothing
And ok omg so this was fun but also bittersweet and I had a post and lost it, but here is a mostly picture based summary of highlights:
The butterfly mural. Probably the loudest Kaylor nod. It was commissioned by Taylor to the artist Kelsey Montague who had famously painted a wings mural Taylor got a pic with in 2014. She also less famously doodled over the Kaylor Vogue cover with butterfly wings (wings are her thing), and it was shared on her website and all her socials. Kelsey said she didn’t know it was Taylor who requested the mural, but some standout images in it include the giraffe pattern on the outside, two ladybugs/ ladybirds (nice pun, Taylor 😉🐞🐞) and of course daisies


In YNTCD video there are plenty of trailers, including one with pride flag rainbow stripes and one in the lesbian flag colours, but there is only one airstream. It is outside the airstream that people protest. There was an airstream in their vogue photo shoot. Also interesting that the airstream was the yellow scene, Taylor had described Karlie as “sunshine” in the vogue best best friends video, the yellow stripe in the pride flag represents “sunlight and happiness” ☀️ (happiness 😳 don’t @ me, evermore album!😫😭)
In the same yellow scene, Taylor is sipping a cocktail with a straw that reads lover, fashioned in the same style as the bride straw Karlie had during her bachelorette weekend in 2018..... which included going to rep tour Nashville. Of course Taylor sold these straws as merch too.


We also got smacked with some Daisy imagery in YNTCD, and Taylor liked this post on tumblr about taking her Daisy away while the world burned behind her (and it was tweeted by someone with Karlie as their profile pic, then shared to tumblr by a Karlie fan -ksunshinek - the sunshine really jumped out ☀️☀️☀️

Taylor’s performance outfit for the VMAs had a striking resemblance to one Karlie wore in a photo shoot in 2017. She likes twinning with Karlie, most famously her Out Of The Woods look on 1989 tour matching the bodysuit Karlie wore at VSFS 2013.
Lover the song. It was first released as a single on August 16th, 13 days after Karlie’s birthday and placed as the 3rd track on the album, Karlie’s bday is the 3rd. Then on some “”random”” Tuesday she drops the Lover remix with Shawn which includes a gold heart over her eye (gold is a Karlie thing), and that random Tuesday happened to be November 13th, the 6 year anniversary of when they first met! 13 days later she released the Lover first dance remix, but it was also the day after she performed it at the AMAs so isn’t as Kaylor

The heart purse merch. First of all, Taylor was papped with her black heart purse twice in June 2014, one of those times was sneaking in that garden gate at Karlie’s West Village home and then hanging out. Reachy, but the colour palette of the era was mostly 4 colours - the green, blue, purple & pink - but there were 3 options for the purse - reachy, but 3 is Karlie’s number
The album photo shoot behind the scenes video, Hi there, King of My Heart! Karlie is a Leo. These pics were said to be taken at her LA home (but I can’t find more sources other than fans, idk, maybe they went to a secret session and recognised it?), but the Lion in a crown being part of Taylor’s decor is interesting and it had nothing to do with the content of the photo shoot
In the video for ME! there was a panther looking figurine on the table near the window. Karlie’s walk is known as the panther

December was a fun month. On the 4th, aka, kissgate day, Taylor was randomly papped leaving Stella McCartney’s studio in London wearing her VSFS angel wings ring which is believed to have been given to her by Karlie as it is a gift from VS to their angels in the fashion show.
Project Runway had a challenge involving animal print and just decided to promote the Cats movie in it by having one of the giant prop doors and included footage from filming Cats in it..... strange.... but before the episode aired, Taylor posted this pic of herself with one of the giant prop doors. It was a very weird way of them being linked when no one on the project runway team was linked to the movie in any way AT ALL

I’m sure there is more, I didn’t do any lyric analysis and just pointed the most obvious Kaylor symbols in ME! & YNTCD. I didn’t go through all the interviews either yet, but these things seemed to be the most memorable and loudest moments. Karlie threw out some signals too, like constant sunset/ sky pics. She hasn’t posted a sky picture since April, but was allllll about the sky in Lover era, but this was about Taylor’s signals.

The Existence of Capitalism in Skyword Sword and How it Makes No Sense Contextually
First off, before I begin, I would like to make it clear that this is not meant to be a a post to bring politics into Zelda; it is my analysis of the information we are given about Skyloft and subsequent questioning of a lot of different canonical aspects. This also won't contain any major spoilers for Skyward Sword, as this is viewed almost entirely from a world-building perspective. Continued beneath the cut (because this is a monstrous post)
The Canon Economy In game, the citizens of Skyloft rely on a monetary system of trade, i.e. using money to purchase goods. This in and of itself works fine for the game, but I'll get into later why it's not very well founded later on. We see that the Skyloftians have to pay for necessities such as food in game. Seeing as this isn't something that carries much weight story-wise, it's hard to find lots of information, but it can be asssumed that Skyloft operates on a typical "use money to purchase goods" system. Furthermore, the only large source of food we see in game (pumpkin island), appears to be owned privately. Patrons must pay to consume pumpkin soup. This indicates that other islands with the means for producing food may also be owned privately, though these theoretical islands do not exist canonically. Most of this will become relevant as this post goes on; for now it offers contextual knowledge. The Money Problem
Across the Zelda franchise, Rupees act as the main currency. It is not stated anywhere how or where Rupees are created, so there's a few potential routes.
1.) Rupees are mined from the earth.
In the very first installation of the franchise, rupees are referred to as Rubies by the game manual. Rubies being used to refer to them implies that they may share similar properties -- so from here we can assume that rupees are some sort of gemstone that are mined from the earth and made into money. If you're thinking, "but money is made out of paper, why would they use gemstones?", then I will direct you to the historical use of silver and gold as currency. 2.) Rupees are created magically.
In game, rupees can be obtained in an eclectic variety of methods. Killing monsters, cutting grass, and so on and so forth. This could imply that they are generated by some outside force at seemingly random. This particular theory is the weakest of the three.
3.) Rupees are formed via living organisms.
Hear me out. Seeing as a potential drop of enemies is rupees, the creation of rupees is not explicitly stated, and they're not so common that they're essentially worthless, one could assume that, similar to pearls, rupees are created by living organisms. This would explain why they are dropped sometimes by enemies, and even why you find them in the grass (outside of the minish) -- if a monster dies, the rupee(s) could be left behind in the grass and so forth. When taken in the context of Skyloft, the theoretical origin of rupees that makes the most sense at a first glance is the second one -- there are few monsters on Skyloft, which rules out no. 3, and seeing as they have very limited ground to work with, mining is out of the question. However, when we look at the option of magical origins, it starts to break down -- they can't exactly disperse any excess money, as they are extremely limited in who they can trade with, and if money just keeps showing up out of nowhere the economy will inevitably undergo inflation, which wouldn't be good for anyone. So, this leaves us with a limited supply of rupees on Skyloft, following either theory 1 or 3.
The problem here is that they live on a floating island, and frequently travel between multiple of these islands. If, say, one was to drop something off the edge, we know that it would be as good as lost canonically -- they cannot reach the surface, and therefore have no method of retrieving any objects lost in this manner.
In my initial ramble about this, the example I used was this: Young children clearly exist on Skyloft, and typically children enjoy playing with things and imitating their parents. I'm sure most people have had an experience in which a young child has either destroyed or lost money. If there's one toddler that has the idea to start chucking money over the edge, they could potentially even wreck the economy depending on the current finite amount of rupees available on Skyloft and the amount of which is being thrown off. Basically, the economy of Skyloft could be wrecked by a child.
They could potentially use something other than rupees as money, but options here are pretty much nonexistent -- what would they use? The amount of resources they'd have to use to produce money simply wouldn't make sense, seeing as they have limited resources -- which brings us to our next section.
Limited Resources
To add to the dubious monetary system of Skyloft, we have the very clearly limited resources. They live on floating islands. In the sky. With no access to the greater world below. They have very limited room for production. Even with the small canonical population of Skyloft (we're strongly going to assume that the npcs present in SkSw are not the extent of the sky's population, however, because otherwise they'd be competing with the lines of the european royalty), managing food would be a large and very important undertaking. In order to keep myself going a rant worthy of its own post, I won't be going too into depth on how they would make use of the land for survival. All that is needed to know is that food is very much limited and also, obviously, essential for survival.
When looking at an isolated community like this, food would likely be the most important part of life on Skyloft. If food isn't available, you die. Given that it is so important to have food in this situation, it would be a reasonable assumption to have a community in which everyone works to ensure the production of food. With these circumstances, the private ownership (for profit) of gardens is both unrealistic and extremely unethical. Farmers could charge a premium for food, making themselves extremely wealthy, and everyone else would be forced to pay these rates in order to survive.
Summary of Canonical Issues
Basically, we have this community in which resources are vastly limited, obtaining replacements for lost money is more-or-less out of the question, and the community would likely be all working together for the collective benefit of said community. In this context, having both money and capitalism make very little sense, and capitalism on its own is horribly unethical.
Potential Solutions
The full scope of world-building solutions to the "look at it wrong and it crumbles" situation of Skyloft gets into far more than the economy, and this post particularly was spawned from a conversation about Skyloftian food production. This will be pretty much a summary, but if I get around to making a separate post for the food and resources of Skyloft, I'll link it here and reblog this with a link as well. Anyways.
The conclusion I eventually came to falls into socialism. There's not really a central government on Skyloft, so production would be in the hands of the community at large. They would all be working for the benefit of one another and continued survival of their civilization, and seeing how essential food is, wages wouldn't really be a factor either -- you garden, or you die. This eliminates the need for money, as essential goods can be obtained via working for them and contributing to the community. Outside of essentials, any luxury items could be obtained through the trade of items or skill, which would make sense. Someone who is, for example, a woodcarver, could want silk from a weaver. Instead of paying in money, which wouldn't serve any purpose outside of luxury items, they could instead carve something for the weaver. This continues to promote the learning and use of specialized skillsets while avoiding the money conundrum. Plus, seeing as Skyloft would likely be tightly knit as a community, it fits far nicer than charging your neighbor ridiculous prices.
Also, as a bonus thought, Rupees would probably just be seen as gemstones on Skyloft. They could be used by craftsman or as decoration. I'm at a loss as to how to end this post, because I pretty much summed up the bulk of everything I could without going on wild tangents, so I leave you with this:

This design office is delighted by the awards and prizes received by two outstanding buildings that they were able to successfully complete despite the difficulties caused by the lockdown:
The district and shopping center ALEJA in Ljubljana, which was completed in spring 2020, has won the ICONIC AWARD 2021 in the category “Innovative Architecture” and is also one of four projects worldwide nominated for the Global RLI Award in the category “International Shopping Center – New Build”.
The innovative Viega seminar and distribution center in Attersee, which opened this summer, generates more energy than it consumes. The ecological flagship project has been recognized by the award of platinum certification by the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) and Gold certification by the Austrian government’s “klimaaktiv” initiative.
Both projects were exclusively integrally and digitally designed with BIM (Building Information Modeling) by ATP architects engineers. BIM2FIM – which was used at Viega – is currently a major talking point in the sector.

Kai-Uwe Reitmann
The architect and urban manager is the new Managing Director of ATP TLP Moscow.
Already based in Russia for many years, the German expert Kai-Uwe Reitmann moved in June from Drees & Sommer to ATP TLP Moscow. In line with ATP’s successful dual management system he will lead the 90-strong team of the joint venture with TLP Tsimailo Lyashenko & Partners alongside the engineer Vladimir Horton. “My objective is to further develop the position of ATP TLP as one of the few international design offices in Russia and to build bridges with Europe,” says the new Managing Director.
Reitmann replaces the Austrian industrial engineer Karl Pein who, after five years, has now returned to Styria, where he continues to be active for ATP.

ATP is planning a new, state-of-the-art headquarters in Moscow for Russia’s most powerful financial institution. ATP has designed Sberbank City as a dynamic office quarter with a full range of cultural, educational, leisure, and health facilities.

Learning with BIM: High school graduation project for Africa
Lisa Kogler and Hanna Draxl, pupils of HTL Imst, chose a graduation project that combines references to traditional African building culture with all the requirements of climate-friendly construction. The design for a ward at the “Jordan Medical Center” (JMC) in Ghana, which is funded by donations, has received a number of awards and was created as a “digital twin” using Building Information Modeling in cooperation with ATP’s BIM manager Philipp Zimmermann.
BIM-QM: Learning from Mistakes
On this year’s – virtual – Heinze ArchitekTOUR, Lars Oberwinter, Managing Director of the ATP subsidiary Plandata, is lecturing on “BIM Quality Management 2.0”. As part of his lecture the BIM expert is presenting two tools developed by Plandata that will soon be available on the market and explained how one really can learn from mistakes (in BIM models).

The skin of the Slovenian “dragon”, which reacts to rising temperatures, is shimmering and the green activity roof is luring visitors. Im Lenz, CH
A new urban district with more than 500 apartments as well as office, commercial and retail space has been created on a former industrial site in the Swiss town of Lenzburg. The guiding principle for the design of the “Im Lenz” district is sustainable urban development. ATP Zurich was commissioned to design four of the twelve buildings.

Weberzeile, Ried i. I., AT
ATP’s Weberzeile is a newly built shopping center that has been extremely successfully integrated into the existing urban structure of a medium-sized town. The retail complex acts as an “anchor” between the old town and the commercial/industrial zone. The success of the strategy was recognized in Weberzeile’s reception of the ICSC Regeneration Award 2017.

Curtis Fluentis, CH
Despite the high levels of noise pollution from two main transport axes ATP Zurich succeeded in creating a housing and commercial complex with high residential quality. A continuous five-part building provides noise protection to the internal courtyards and loggias.

Municipal Offices, Vomp, AT
A powerful and self-conscious ensemble of two separately accessed building volumes with a connecting wing cleverly exploits the height difference across the site. The roof and the façade play with the materiality of a Tyrolean village as a means of integrating the building complex into the surrounding urban structure.

IN-Tower, DE
Ingolstadt’s first high-rise building acts as a link between the new station building and the “Glacis” – the green belt surrounding the old town. The striking complex accentuates the entrance to the site of the North Station and will act as a powerful symbol for rail passengers arriving in the town in future.

The central requirement of the invited competition was to meet the needs of the growing company and create a link with the heart of Bolzano to the west. The concept by ATP Innsbruck envisages a flexible, column-free office tower that is well-proportioned from an urban design point of view and which, despite its central location, makes it possible to “work surrounded by greenery”

ATP Vienna was able to secure first place in this EU-wide, open realization competition in this urban development area in Vienna with a concept for a ‘Plus Energie’ building. The project is based on the concept of breaking down the traditional perimeter block.

The complex requirements of the realization competition demanded the development of a concept for the district which combined high-quality urban design with an innovative residential approach oriented to the needs of children and old people. The concept behind the winning project by ATP Munich includes a reorganization of the area in urban design terms which focuses on reinvigorating the entrance to the district and providing a high quality user experience on the planned district squares. The administration building is an example of successful Corporate Architecture for a food industry company. It speaks a clear architectural language and was designed using a sustainable design approach.

A thousand stars

Prompt: “Happy Birthday!” “It’s pitch black and I can still see you blushing.”
Synopsis: “Now I have the stars in the palm of my hands!” That bright, flushed smile as you squished his sparkly cheeks captivated the hero instantly, and at that moment he was certain of one thing.
Here’s entry number three for @bnhabookclub ’s bingo and celebrating deku events! I want to thank my friends @savagetrickster , @dragonhrte , @samanthaa-leanne , @hawks-senseis for helping me out with some ideas, and @fanfic-me-up for beta reading this for me!
Looking up at this vast, starry night reminded you of how big this world really was. Compared to the bright stars scattered across the wide, limitless sky, the both of you were seemingly like nothing but little specks of dust.
Yet somehow, you were able to find each other amongst the billions of people walking around the earth.
Bodies snuggled together, craving for more of that soothing warmth that could only be offered by the one whom you shared this special bond with. Not even the heat of the bright bonfire eating its way through the wood, with sparks flying above it, could warm up your tangled bodies just as nicely as the male hugging you closer to himself.
“Did you ever think that we would be here?” Your fiance’s husky voice broke the comforting silence. Turninging slightly in place to look back at him, your questioning eyes begged for him to continue. “I mean, since I was a kid, I just…thought that after becoming a hero, I’d never have the chance to find my soulmate.”
His scarred hands encircled themselves around your sides, grasping tightly around your psyche. Izuku’s hold was practically desperate like he was fearful of letting go. Because in a way, he was afraid that this was all just a dream, too good to be true, and if he dared to let go, everything he worked so hard for alongside you, would end up disappearing into nothingness.
A soft, smaller hand laid over his own comfortingly. Making him look down at your hands. Even in the dark night, you both could still watch the bright glow coming from the red string bonding you together for life.
“And yet,” Your other hand caressed his cheek, bringing him closer to lay a soft peck on his freckles covered cheek, smooth lips lingering in place as he nuzzled his face gently against yours. “It was the very thing that brought us together in the first place.”
You couldn’t help giggling tenderly by his displays of affection as he continued nuzzling your face, before kissing your shoulder delicately. A lot of people may not know this, but when both of you are alone, Izuku can be the most affectionate, sweetest guy to exist. You couldn’t have asked for a better soulmate than him.
Meeting your soulmate was a moment in life that neither of you would be able to forget. Not even once your memories eventually start fading with age, and the people may only remember Deku as a retired number one hero and previous symbol of peace.
“Did you ever think that we would be here?” You asked softly, looking back at the black sky littered with thousands and thousands of never-ending stars “Camping together, cuddling under the stars as we celebrate the birthday of the greatest hero?”
He shook his head in response, rocking your bodies together back and forth, thinking back to the time you guys met. A moment in life that he would always cherish since he never expected to meet you in the first place, but as always, fate usually has their ways of bringing people together.
Izuku would have never imagined meeting his soulmate in the middle of patrolling. The memory of the red string becoming shorter and shorter, pulling him forwards with great force, until it made him crash into a girl too busy running late for work, to notice the string on her pinky going in the same direction as her. Both groaned painfully when they fell down together, and papers flew everywhere around them.
You could still remember the way that red string tangled your bodies together, glowing brightly as it signaled the end of a search. Neither of you would stop staring at each other, or even bothered to get up as you greeted one another with a shy smile, and a breathless greeting as your hearts kept beating erratically with nothing but pure joy the moment you held hands for the first time.
And I’m thinking ‘bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe just the touch of a hand.
Oh me I fall in love with you every single day
And I just wanna tell you I am
Don’t get him started on the first time you spent the night together. He’ll always cherish the way you smiled at him as you held a glitter pen close to his face. An empty bottle of wine laid at the other side of the couch, along with a pair of empty cups. All ignored in favor of tracing inky, glitter-covered patterns all over his face, and laughing cheerfully at his flustered expression for having your bodies so close to each other.
“Now I have the stars in the palm of my hands!” That bright, flushed smile as you squished his sparkly cheeks captivated the hero instantly, and at that moment he was certain of one thing.
He wanted to spend his whole life with you. Tracing galaxies all over each other’s skins, while laughing at nothing in particular...although that last one, was actually the wine’s fault. But he couldn’t complain if it meant seeing you having the time of your life with your beloved soulmate.
It made your one year anniversary just as magical as the day you met.
When the day finally came, and he kneeled down in front of you, pulling out that golden band to propose under a starry night. That wide, euphoric and teary-eyed smile as you looked down at him, before tackling him down, all while yelling out “yes!” at the same time you began to blissfully kiss your now fiance, over and over again.
It made it clear for Izuku, he knew it had been a decision he’d never come to regret as he laughed wholeheartedly by his soulmate’s euphoric attitude.
So honey now

Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
I’m thinking out loud
Maybe we found love right where we are.
Now here you were, taking a break from everything and everybody a few weeks before the big day finally arrived. And what a better way to disconnect from everything, than to go camping together and enjoy one of the things that brought so much happiness to you both.
“Izuku?” Your voice snapped him out of his recalling, and he turned back to look at his dear, albeit worried fiance. “Everything okay?”
“Ah! Y-Yeah! Just, thinking about something!” He may be a grown man now. But Midoriya Izuku will always be that sweet, shy guys from his high school years. The same one that would always stammer whenever he happened to get lost in his own thoughts.
“Babe, It’s pitch black and I can still see you blushing.” He ignored your squinting with a burst of light-hearted laughter and intertwined your hands together.
He brought them closer to his face, kissing the back of your hand softly, right above the finger where a small, red string was tied around the very same place where a gold ring, adorned with little stars signals for an upcoming future together, where you shall both live happily together.
“Oh! Right!”
Untangling yourself from Izuku’s embrace -much to his dislike-. You crawled inside the shared tent and began rummaging through your bag in search of something. When Izuku saw you coming out of the tent with a wrapped gift in hand and a big smile, he couldn’t help looking at the gift in your hands with curiosity.
“Happy birthday!”
When you gave him the box, he stared at it silently for a whole minute, before looking at you with a growing smile. Turns out the gift wasn’t actually wrapped, it was only a decorated box he opened easily.
And when he saw his gift, it was like watching the same boy from high school that couldn’t help crying over the smallest gestures.
Inside the box, laid an All Might hardcover notebook decorated with the words “Hero Analysis: Pro Hero Edition” in bold, metallic red lettering.
He stared at his gift silently, finger tracing the white outline of the letters, feeling the texture of the leather, the material felt, and looked pretty expensive, almost like something only a professional would carry around.
Something a pro hero like Deku would carry around.
“Where did you get this?” He looked up at your cheerful, quiet self. Who only kept swaying from side to side with hands intertwined behind your back.
“I ordered it from a website that makes personalized notebooks! Your mom told me how much you adore All-Might related merchh, and I just happened to remember this site a friend told me about.” You sat down beside him, pleased by the way he looked at his gift with sparks in his eyes.
“Do you like it?”
He looked back at you with small, happy tears prickling the corners of his eyes, which he quickly wiped away before they could fall on top of his newest notebook.
“It’s perfect.” His arms wrapped around your shoulders, pulling you closer to him as he gave the crown of your head another kiss in gratitude. “Just like you.”
“I’m glad you like it.” Once again, you snuggled closer to his body, lifting your head up to give your dear soulmate a kiss, that he happily returned with all of the love he had to give under the light of a thousand stars.
He couldn’t wait to spend the rest of your lives happily together, and being able to start a family with the one fate decided would be the right one for him.

Hello lovelies! Since quarantine is separating many lovers all around the world I thought about how the boys would handle being away from their girlfriend. It’s obviously smutty. Every piece is about 1000 words each.
Trigger warning: swearing; smut, hinted and sometimes pretty descriptive, really it depends. LOADS OF SEX TOYS (it was supposed to be a sex-toy themed thingy because yay!self-love and yes, you can use them together with your significant other too), some mild bdsm here and there, praise kink (you know where it comes from), swearing and alcohol (nothing extreme, just tipsy), masturbation and that should be pretty much everything. Also, nipple piercing? Tae is frustrated, Jimin is the bratties brat to ever brat (takes one to know one LOL) and Koo is a switch (and by switch I mean he’s shy but nasty, and I still don’t know what’s his trigger).

You loved listening to Jimin, especially when he came home in the evening and told you about his day. You loved chitchatting while preparing dinner, you loved having his head on your lap, his fingers intertwined with yours, your free hand caressing his scalp and handcombing his hair. You loved his tenderness, his voice growing sleepy as it got late. You loved climbing in bed and feeling his hand snake around your waist from behind you, naturally and innocently palming your breast as he fell asleep.
You were listening to his voice through the speakers of your phone, video calling each other as you made dinner and he had a brunch together with the boys in Paris. Last night it had been their last concert of the European Tour and soon they would be heading back to Seoul, even though their schedule included a couple weeks in the US before actually returning to their motherland. He wasn’t yet allowed to tell you their plans but supposedly they had to meet a coreographer and visit a couple studios.
It was extraordinarily hilarious to watch him talk as he filled his mouth with continental breakfast, sickeningly sweet apple juice and pain brioche and bacon endlessly flowing around him. Every now and then he interrupted himself to reply to the boys, who sometimes appeared behind him, sleepy, a bit groggy and absolutely exhausted. Suga was propped on his elbows against the countertop, his eyes closing again as he waited for coffee, Namjoon, with a disgusted expression hugged the sugar bowl to his chest and poured a worrying amount of sweetener in his oversized cup of coffee. JK, his shirt sweaty, was drinking a smoothie after his morning workout. Taehyung was nowhere to be seen, but knowing him, he was probably still sleeping.
“Jin hyung yesterday had a flimsy shirt. I think we have never seen that much skin of him! It was so windy!!!” Jimin said, imitating the shirt lifting, his teasing voice all out while his eyes disappeared in a big smile.
You had held on pretty fairly for the whole tour, always taking twenty minutes to have a chat almost every day. You had visited him mid-tour in New York for a couple days, but otherwise you had endured the distance with a tight-lipped smile.
But right now you felt your heart chipping slightly, tears coming to your eyes. You promptly swiped them away.
Jimin, always so attuned to your emotions, noticed it right away. “Baby, are you okay?”
“Yeah, it’s the onions!” You smiled and quickly went back to your cooking. But he knew. Seventeen more days until he could see you again. And hold you. And lose himself in you again. He wasn’t bold enough for steamy video calls like Tae. And it’s not like those could provide the kind of emotional support that made him crave for intimacy and reassured him after it. But still, he wanted you to know.
So that night, after making his suitcase, he entered a website he had been tiptoeing around for a while and started exploring, sometimes with shame tinting his cheeks, sometimes with curiosity capturing his stare, sometimes with desire warming his loins. After a thorough analysis of every single category, he checked the basket and proceeded to shipping and payment.
A couple days later you awoke to pictures flooding your twitter feed, your beautiful boyfriend and his six band mates walking out of the LAX airport, Jimin wearing a flowing, quite see-through sky blue shirt embroidered in lilies, his delirious ballerina legs clad in his usual skinny black jeans. Blonde and gracious, lips pouty and pink, sunglasses on, he waved at the crowd and disappeared inside a grey van with a flirty grin. You barely held in a moan. And the long time without any kind of intimacy was most definitely getting to your head. Your fingers toyed with the edge of your panties, almost ready to give up on your intention of waiting for Jimin to come back and get you wild. But right in that moment your doorbell rang and you quickly donned a robe to answer the door. As you saw the delivery boy from the security cam, your first thought was that you had not ordered anything and out of suspicion you properly got dressed. But when he got to your apartment’s door he mentioned the name of the sender and everything made sense, though you hadn’t quite expected a surprise. You thanked him and got inside, package in hand, straight to the kitchen where you grabbed a knife and tore the seal. It was quite heavy and big, and the tag name was not recognisable. With increased curiosity, you opened the lid and saw a small envelope. It had been typed but it seemed to be signed under Jimin’s safe name, Your angel fairy.
“There are things you promised me and things I promised you for when I come back. But there is just one thing we both promised to each other for eternity. And that is Love. Every single object in here is only aimed at that. For a loving heartfelt and gentle as a cherry. For a loving playful and childlike like tickles. For a loving sparkling like twin falling stars. For a loving loyal and enthralling like chains of gold. For a loving sturdy and stinging as wood and leather. For a loving precious like a gem. And finally for a loving eternal as the darkness of the night. To my beloved,
From your angel fairy.”
He had really splurged on this.
You bit your lip in anticipation and tried to guess who was who. Because for those seven types of loving there were seven corresponding items. The first one had to be the massage candles. You once had told him you wanted to try and massage him with those and probably cherries were his fragrance of choice.
The second must have been the tickler, the delicate white feathers perfectly matching Jimin’s personality and taste. Twin falling stars was a bit trickier but at the bottom of the box you found a smaller elegant box containing a delicate chain with two star-shaped, sparkly nipple clamps, which you absolutely adored.
The chains of gold must have been the fine jewellery harness designed to wrap around your neck, snake down between your breasts and loosely hang around your waist in multiple strings.
The wood and leather must have been the double sided paddle, one softened with some padding and leather, the other nothing but unforgiving hardwood. A corner of your mind went back to that time he had brought your large wooden hair-brush on top of your bed and asked you if you wanted to try it on him, you remembered how you had curled a hand around his cheek, comforting and reassuring him, praising him, showing that there was nothing to be ashamed or afraid of. The bright red colour of his behind the morning after, your worried expression and his face hiding in your neck when he told you not to worry because he had enjoyed every second of it.
That loving, precious like a gem, could be nothing but the buttplug, which you had confessed you wanted to try on yourself during your last escapade in New York. You looked forward to that.
And finally the darkness of the night - the blindfold. Black and silken.
“A little bird told me you received a package... How do you like it?” There it was, Jimin’s text. You couldn’t wait for that little brat to come back home.
Taehyung
Brazil was beautiful. A beautiful hot mess. He felt sweat in his every nook and cranny, the humidity sticking to his skin even though it was almost midnight. As he got out of the shower he looked at himself in the mirror. He still felt messy.
He also felt like calling you. Right then and there.
He felt like being at home and walking in your shared room naked and getting head from you. With the windows open and some night breeze flowing in.
“Thinking about you.” He simply texted.
“Just out of a meeting. Can’t wait to head home.” You replied. “But I still have a lot to do.”
“I miss you in my bed.”
“Do you, now?” You were half walking half texting, waiting to get your lunch.
“I need you to get rid of some steam...”
“Tonight, promise.” As your order was ready, you quickly proceeded to eat.
Taehyung didn’t reply. He was tired and you were busy.
He collapsed in bed shortly after putting down his phone.
His sleep was troubled, he woke up tangled in the sheets, his leg thrown over a mountain of pillows and his hips were agonisingly pressing against the humid white cotton. Again, he felt sweaty. And turned on. He felt compressed. Like a clown inside a box that jumps out when you open it. He wondered what it would take for his box to be opened.
When he woke up he saw your “good morning” text, replied quickly before rinsing his face and hitting the gym in the hotel. He overworked himself in hope it could get the thought of you out of his head. Instead, every exercise had him thinking about new ways to fuck you, a stronger, healthier body meaning nothing but much more force and more experimental and effective angles. Jungkook and Jimin obviously noticed, while Namjoon and Jin kept obliviously running on the treadmill.
“You think he’s angry?” Asked Jungkook.
“Just repressed. We should tell the girls to warn his girlfriend. Maybe we should have her come meet him.”
“The trip is long and she’s gonna be jet-lagged out of her mind. Let’s just tell the girls and have the two of them figure it out.”
Jungkook told his girlfriend through text: “Can you tell Tae’s girlfriend to call him? He’s getting sour.”
“Told her. She said she on it. Luv you. Later.” Jungkook blushed thinking about his plans for later that night and then moved on with his exercises.
Taehyung kept bench pressing like he wanted to lift the whole world with his two bare shouders.
At around four pm, his phone far away from him to keep him from doing something stupid, Taehyung was stage rehearsing, his voice rougher and angrier than ever, his whole body craving for release and intimacy. At this point Yoongi too had noticed, giving a small side glance to Jimin, who shook his shoulders in hopelessness.
As he grew more and more insufferable, Namjoon saw it was almost six pm and called for a break, immediately nearing Taehyung and taking him aside for a while.
“What’s wrong.” Namjoon didn’t approach the matter softly.
Taehyung took a pause. Namjoon was almost tempted to call Jimin. Maybe he knew how to deal with this. Maybe he was too rough, too direct or too logical rather than emotional, he could —
“I miss her, hyung.” Taehyung said. Namjoon exhaled heavily. He knew how that felt. “I miss her and we call each other every day, we text, but it’s so bad. I miss everything about her. I thought it was a crush and that it would be easy. After all we’ve been dating for a couple months and...” Namjoon waited, his eyes fixed on Tae. “But I think I’m in love. It’s like, here.” He pressed his fist between his ribs and his stomach. “And I’m so tense, all the time. At night it’s even worse. I haven’t been sleeping much.”
Namjoon waited as if to let him speak, but apparently he was done. “Do you want to call her? Take the rest of the day off and we go on without you?”
“She’s sleeping right now. Fucking time zones. And if I call her, it will get worse.”
Namjoon knew. The wanting, the longing. It just intensifies.
Namjoon checked his phone. “Okay. Rehearsal’s almost over anyways. You just need to survive a couple more songs, then we’re gonna take a night just the seven of us, yeah?”
Taehyung nodded.
“Also, schedule a video call. We’ll be in London in four days and time difference will be easier.” He patted his shoulder. “And please, get laid. Or you can take it out on the stage tomorrow. Army will go feral if they see you like this.”
Taehyung chuckled.
“Do we have anything scheduled tomorrow morning?”
“Concert tomorrow night so no schedule until 11. Jin, JK and I are hitting the gym at nine, if you wanna join.”
“We‘ll see.” Tae smiled. He felt better.
Rehearsal ended up okay after that, Taehyung in a more playful mood. As soon as he got to his phone he saw one of your texts, he was tempted opening it right away, but he waited when he saw it was a lengthy voice note.
He arrived in his hotel room and hit the shower straight away. He was supposed to meet the others in half an hour, and he knew if he laid down and listened to your text he would get distracted and call you. As he got out of the shower he got dressed and sat on the bed, his phone tempting him. Damn it. He opened the text.
“Taehyung-“ A heavy breath. “I’ve been missing you.” Your voice was soft and delicate, almost sleepy. “It’s five am and I can’t sleep.” A raspy moan followed and he had to rewind the text and turn up the volume. Moan confirmed. “I can’t stop thinking about you. Your hands on me, everywhere. The way you kissed me before you left.” This time the moaning was clearer and louder. “Every time I touch myself I feel like my fingers aren’t long or strong enough compared to yours.” Tae felt that comment in his bones. He would be late to dinner anyway. From his phone you emitted a small whimper. “Good, the way you went down on me. I’ve tried toys that could possibly substitute you as long as you’re away but no toy could ever look at me like you did that night, with your mouth latched on my clit and your hand grasping my thighs.” He could almost taste you. God, that night had been indecent to say the least. “I can’t wait to have you back. I’m gonna have you laid out in bed, spread wide on top of the sheets and I’m gonna ride you until I can‘t even remember how much I missed you.”
Now Taehyung moaned himself. He texted you. It was nine am in Seoul, that meant you were at work, that meant you’d be worked up all day long.
“I’m free tomorrow morning. That is tonight, to you. I wanna see that nasty shit you’ve been up to with my wanna-be substitute. Maybe if you’re good enough I’m gonna send you a little something too. But you’ll have to earn it.”
He was already going to send you a golden necklace with a vibrating pendant anyway.
Jungkook
He didn’t let himself think about you much. Just ten minutes in the shower. Sometimes eight were enough, it just depended on how turned on he was. Even though your trip to Australia was making things difficult, you still managed to see each other every day or so. Sometimes you just had dinner with a screen in front of each other, chatting about your day. Sometimes you called after dinner, a glass of wine, some laughter, the boys coming in every now and then to say hi and ask how you were doing. Other times it was strictly the two of you, your soft voice reassuring him as he confessed how he was feeling. This distance had seriously improved your communication, especially since there was no way to use body language to express feelings and emotions. You reminded him daily that you love him, always telling him before you closed the call. He told you daily about what was going on and how he felt about it. He really hoped you would keep being so talkative when you came back. Most importantly, he hoped you would keep praising him. Sometimes he did exactly what you wanted so that you would praise him. He realised that the more he expressed how he felt, the more loving and praising you grew.
Your stay in Australia was supposed to last a little more than five weeks. Three weeks had gone by quickly, always busy with paperwork or work appointments. However, lately you had started missing Jungkook a little bit too severely. You knew he was shy and you would never press him into doing anything he didn’t hint at you. So when one night, after a glass of wine too many, he started talking about how much he missed your body, you replied encouragingly, leading him on.
“What do you miss about it?”
“You know. Waking up beside you. Feeling you next to me early in the morning.”
“I miss that too. Starting the day without you in the shower is difficult,” you teased, pushing it a little.
He blushed a little. “Do you miss that too?”
“I miss all of that. Do you?” You filled your glass once more. Maybe it would help you loosen up a little.
“You know I do.” He mirrored your gesture and took a sip.
“It feels good when you say it,” you answered, undoing a button of your blouse.
“I miss your body a lot. Even though I don’t usually think about it. It gets worse,” he said, eyes were glued to your fingers.
“I’m happy that you told me. It makes me feel like I’m not alone in this.”
“You are not alone. But I wish I was there.” He was going to evaporate.
You took a deep breath.
“What would you do if you were here?”
“Kiss you. Straight away. I’d hold you so tight I’d almost suffocate you.” He didn’t hesitate one second before answering your question. But then he took a long pause. “I would pick you up, wrap your legs around my waist. Lay you down on the bed. Kiss you harder.”
You licked your lips. “Have you been hitting the gym more often lately?”
He was a little bit confused by your question but he nodded.
“It shows. You look stronger. Makes me wonder how good it will be when we do it again.”
His mouth hung open. “I—“
“Use your words, sweetie.”
His situation got even worse as he blushed for the nickname. And then his whole demeanour did a 180. “Forget the bed. I think I’m gonna slam you against the wall. You’d be wearing a skirt and it would be so easy to slip inside you.”
You worded the next sentence carefully. If you pushed it too much, he would emotionally ball up like a hedgehog and shut you out. “Would you have me against the wall?”
“Fuck you standing? Yes, babe.” He pressed his tongue against his cheek, then clenched his jaw. His hand was laying on his thigh, slipping slowly to his crotch. Nothing you were going to notice since his camera was on his face and part of his chest.
“But you know I’m heavy, right?”
“You’re not that heavy. I can pick you up if I want to. And lately you’ve been looking thinner. I hope you’re eating. I love feeling you up,” he purred.
“I’ve been working out too. I have to get you out of my head.”
“What do you need to get out of your head?”
“All the things I want from you.” You needed him to push you a little.
“What do you want?”
“I want you inside me.”
“Yeah, and? Come on, babe, use your words.” His smile was borderline sadistic as he used your own words against you.
“Messy, sweaty. I don’t care if it hurts. I want you to fuck me so hard I’ll be feeling it for days afterwards.”
He moaned a little at that. How tight you would feel around him... He realised it was the right moment to tell you. “I got us something.”
“What?”
“It’s supposed to arrive by the time you’re here.”
“Really? What is it?”
He took a deep breath and then he started spitting out words at an alarming rate.
“The other day at the gym there was this couple doing something like couple yoga or something, and she was hanging from a hammock of sort and I couldn’t help but think about how intimate it was and how much I wanted to do that with you and I got us a swing.”
“You what?” You brought the glass to your lips again. Smiling.
“I got us a swing.”
“What kind of swing, baby?”
“That kind of swing. I saw it in a... video, sometime ago, and I remembered it and I wanna use it with you. If you want to, I mean, we don’t have to—” He babbled adorably.
“What if I want to?”
He inhaled and took a sip of wine.
“I can’t wait to use it with you. I keep imagining the sound of you slamming against me. I’ll moan for you so loud and lovely that everyone will know you’re loving me nice and good. You’re amazing, Koo.”
He basked in your compliment. “Come back home soon. Otherwise I’ll have to come and get you. Cuff you to my own wrist and bring you back to my side, where you belong.”
“Can’t wait to put my hands on you. My mouth,” you murmured, one more button coming undone.
“You can’t right now, but if you take off your shirt maybe you might convince me to take the first plane to Sydney.”
His hand had already undone his belt and he was almost going to undo the button of his jeans when you said, “do you think I could convince you if I told you I’m not wearing a bra right now?”
He looked shocked. “You should show me.”
You quickly undid your blouse and let it hang open. That’s when he noticed something glittering.
“Is it...”
“I thought I could use the time away to get it done, so it can properly heal.”
Right there, on your right nipple you let the small piercing show.
“You’re so getting fucked when you come back. First I’ll get my tongue on that and you know exactly where it’s gonna go next.”
You grinned devilishly. “Good, because it’s all I’ve been thinking of.”

“coney island” lyrical analysis
As I promised in my evermore album song analysis (read part 1 of that here), I’ve done a deeper dive into the song coney island.
This song makes me feel so many things because it reminds me of my first serious relationship, so I’ve got a lot to say about it. I hope you enjoy reading. Just remember that this is my own interpretation, so if you don’t agree, that’s okay, you don’t have to. Love y’all.
PS - Anything crossed out is just a section that I’ve already covered that didn’t change lyrically the second time around.

[Verse 1] Break my soul in two Looking for you but you’re right here If I can’t relate to you anymore Then who am I related to?
The first narrator is hurting from the end of this relationship closing in on them. They looking for the person they fell in love with, but they’ve changed so much that they are almost unrecognizable. The narrator feels like they can’t even confide in them anymore, and wonders who they can talk to now.
And if this is the long haul How’d we get here so soon?
The couple thought they won’t last forever, but now it seems that they’ve gotten to the end much sooner than they anticipated.
Did I close my fist around something delicate? Did I shatter you?
They think something they did caused this relationship to break. They didn’t mean to suffocate the other person, but they might have anyway.
[Pre-Chorus] And I’m sitting on a bench in Coney Island wondering where did my baby go? The fast times, the bright lights, the merry go Sorry for not making you my centerfold
Now they’re here alone, missing their partner. Thinking about all the fun and excitement they used to share. Thinking maybe if they had made the relationship and their partner their number one priority, they might not have fallen apart.

They’ve been here before. The problems, the arguments, the “disappointments”. It’s nothing new anymore, they’re stuck in this endless cycle that they escape from.
And it gets colder and colder When the sun goes down
As the relationship is coming to an end, they’re drifting farther apart, becoming more and more closed off to one another. There’s no more warmth or light coming from this person they used to love dearly.
[Verse 2] The question pounds my head “What’s a lifetime of achievement?” If I pushed you to the edge But you were too polite to leave me
The second narrator is blaming themselves. Thinking of all the time they spent trying to give them this perfect life together, but realizing they neglected the relationship itself. Arguing with their partner over petty things, not being emotionally there like they should have. They know they didn’t do enough, but their partner didn’t want to give up on them or this life they were trying to build.
And do you miss the rogue Who coaxed you into paradise and left you there?
They’re feeling like they tricked their partner into believing this was going to be different. In the beginning, it was happy, and they were thriving in the ‘honeymoon phase’ of the relationship. Now, they’ve become someone else in the mundane of the same old things.
Will you forgive my soul When you’re too wise to trust me and too old to care?
They are hoping the other person will be able to move on, even though they know they broke them.
[Pre-Chorus 2] ‘Cause we were like the mall before the Internet It was the one place to be The mischief, the gift wrapped suburban dreams Sorry for not winning you an arcade ring
This relationship used to be their everything. They had fun together, and they always wanted to be near each other. Thinking about the perfect life they thought they would have, all nice and easy. But, the narrator regrets not keeping their promises and not providing them with these dreams.

[Bridge] Were you waiting at our old spot In the tree line by the gold clock Did I leave you hanging every single day?
Their partner needed them to be there, but they weren’t. They left their partner hanging, waiting.
Were you standing in the hallway With a big cake, happy birthday
This is where we get to the references to Taylor’s past relationships. This seems to be a call back to Jake Gyllenhaal, and the infamous song The Moment I Knew where he didn’t show up the her birthday party.
Did I paint your bluest skies the darkest gray? A universe away
These lines seem to point the lyrics in Dear John “you paint me a blue sky and go back and turn it to rain”, a song assumed to be about Taylor’s relationship with John Mayer.
And when I got into the accident The sight that flashed before me was your face
This sounds like a throwback to the accident mentioned in her song Out of the Woods, which is supposedly about Harry Styles, “Remember when you hit the brakes too soon? Twenty stitches in a hospital room.”
But when I walked up to the podium I think that I forgot to say your name
This is most likely a reference to Calvin Harris and how he didn’t thank her for her work on his song “This Is What You Came For” during his 2016 VMAs acceptance speech for Best Male Video.

The outro just reiterates earlier points. As the relationship is ending, they are both thinking about their partner and how they regret not giving them more love and attention, for not letting the relationship be a more important part in their life.

What's your opinion on the four saints of unknown rank? And assuming one of the cloths is the Coma Berenices one like in the novel, which are the remaining three in your opinion?
Edited because I made a mistake and the total of the Cloths was 87 and not the correct 88.
Under the cut, this post is very long (mostly because of huge lists I wrote down). Also, of course this is just my reasoning. There could be a way simpler interpretation of all of this, but I love in depth analysis and I applied it here as well.
I actually have a big theory about it. Crazy and convoluted, but a good theory for how I look at things. Please don’t take it too seriously, the usual disclaimer. I’m just a fan that loves to delve too much into this stuff. Bear with me.
There’s a lot of Cloths we don’t know about, even if we add all the existing series to the list. There’s 72 Cloths, taking away the Gold ones, and we only know 62. If I counted correctly, this takes into consideration all the non-Gold Cloths of the entire franchise, though I might be wrong.

This gives us 26 remaining options, but there’s also a problem: two of the constellations in this list are obsolete constellations, aka constellations that don’t exist anymore. Obviously, the Corona Cloths don’t make the list, since they’re not Saints of Athena. So, the constellations we have left are not 26, but 28. Minus the Zodiac constellation, they are 16.

The anime has the Fornax Cloth, as does Saint Seiya Online; I didn’t count it in the previous list because I’m not sure if the Fornax Saint is actually a Saint (since in Italy he’s quite literally called “Knight of the Flame”, not of the fornax, and he has the name “Saint of the Flame” alongside “Ennetsu Saint”).
The Eridanus Cloth appeared briefly in the anime, I put it on this list because there’s no named Saint linked to it. It’s not relevant to the point I’ll be making in a while, so it can stay in both lists. The same goes for the Indus Cloth and the Tucana Cloth.
The Mensa Cloth appears only in Saint Seiya Online, so I decided to put it in this list instead of the previous one.
The Sculptor Cloth was mentioned alongside the Caelum Cloth in the Taizen, so it’s actually a known Cloth, but since it has no named Saint I decided to put it here.
All the other ones never appeared in any iteration of the frachise (as far as I know).
Out of these 16, there’s two of them that apparently aren’t existing Cloths, since two obsolete constellations took their place. Following this reasoning, it actually makes sense for at least those two to be unknown. But what about the other two? What about Coma Berenices and the other one? Maybe Coma Berenice and one of these other constellation are not in the list. Maybe there’s two more obsolete constellation that are in their place. Maybe, 4 out of the 16 constellations up there, Coma Berenices included, are not linked to Athena, maybe 4 obsolete constellations are in their place. 2 of them are absolutely out of the picture, because of Cerberus and Reindeer, so it makes sense to complete the set and put 2 more obsolete constellations to substitute 2 “normal” ones. Maybe those 3 constellation alongside Coma Berenices are the most modern ones of the bunch, aka Telescopium (telescope), Microscopium (microscope), and Antlia (air pump), which... in my opinion, don’t really belong. Other modern ones, like Fornax and Mensa, seem more appropriate for the “mythological” setting of Saint Seiya. But these three... well, to me, they seem way too weird, especially if you think that the Cloths were made way back in the old times. If we follow what the series has already done, aka using obsolete constellations, it’s easy to take two more from the list and use them to replace two of the unknown ones.
In fact, we do have one more obsolete constellation. We have Noctua, the Owl. As we all know, the Owl Cloth belongs to Partita. Sure, it became a Surplice, but it’s still there. This does nothing but reinforce my theory. This leaves us with only one obsolete constellation missing, so it’s perfectly believable that 4 of those 88 modern constellations are unknown Cloths that were replaces by 4 other ones.
In short, we have Solarium and Cerberus in place of, let’s say as an example, Coma Berenices and Antlia, and two more to replace Telescopium and Microscopium. You could point out the problem of: aren’t obsolete constellation “not in the sky” anymore because other ones have their place? Well, yes, but! Cerberus and Hercules share the same space, almost. One of the stars of Cerbeus, the main one in fact, is 109 Herculis, a star that belongs to the Hercules constellation. So, if this merge can happen in canon, I won’t consider it a problem in this case.
This leads me to believe that the 4 unknown Cloths are Coma Berenices (already known), Antlia, Telescopium and Microscopium. I’m not sure if we know when those 4 Cloths were made, so I won’t make any more guesses as to why those 3 modern ones are part of the group (aside from “they don’t seem to belong”), but this is my idea. It took way too long for me to come up with this, probably a time I could have used in a more constructive way since there’s probably a way easier explanation somewhere, but I have fun doing this so... this is it.
I do actually have the fourth obsolete constellation in my own headcanons, Antinoo (it specifically represents an Ancient Greek man, who was also adored as either a deity or a deified mortal). I just wanted to add this to conclude all this convoluted reasoning that has probably no reason to even exist.
Basically, the four obsolete constellation and the respective (well, they can be rearranged as you want, there’s no problems in mixing them up as I stated before) unknown ones are:
Coma Berenices / Cerberus
Antlia / Antinoo
Microscopium / Noctua
Telescopium / Solarium

5) What's their favorite color?
Todd: Green. To Todd, green is the color of "the future." It's seeing healthy trees for the first time in his life and laying in lawn clippings because he can't believe he now lives in a place where something like grass is a concern for people. That something so mundane matters speaks to the ease of people's lives. When he applied to a program "looking for the best and brightest to represent Earth's interests in one of the many colonies across the stars!" (A decade before he exited said program and was assigned and sent to the Halcyon colony that was already straying from Earth's vision), he kept his forms and documents in a bright green folder.
Garfield: Dark blue. To Garfield, dark blue is to color of "home." It was one of the colors of his old tossball team. The seat he sat in on the cross country bus trip he took to get away from his abusive father was dark blue. The sky from Coach's house was dark blue and full of stars at night. His bedsheets and curtains in his first apartment were dark blue. In Halcyon, his hair is green because he dyed his hair dark blue and gold (his team's colors) but the first time he showered they mixed into a dark greenish color and faded from there.
14) Favorite fruit?
Todd: Pears. They're softer and sweeter than apples. He housed pears like a madman whenever they were in season.
Garfield: Limes. For some reason, he can't get enough of limes. His favorite drink was even a lime flavored soda. He couldn't tell you the amount of chemical burns he got on the inside of his mouth from all that citric acid. To be fair, he also wouldn't connect the two dots though, not on his own at least.

19) What were their parents like?
Todd: He doesn't remember anything about his mother other than her name was Adelaide, she had brown eyes, and she called him Little Toad because as a toddler he loved jumping. She died to sickness when he was still very young. He has a lot of memories of his dad Sean though. Sean taught him marksmanship and how to speak and read the different languages and dialects of the region (instead of just the one Adelaide knew). They didn't ever have much more than each other, a rifle, and a couple handfuls of bullets at any given time, but Sean always made sure to get his hands on some sort of sweet around Todd's birthday, and they'd share it to celebrate, even if all they had was a single dirty sugar cube. He was where Todd got his genius but also where he got his temper (though it rarely came out for either of them, it could be violently deadly to cross them). He was also the one who taught Todd risk analysis and to be cautious and careful. His death taught Todd that you could do everything right but the universe will still take you out of the game if you've got no one watching your back.
Garfield: Unlike Todd, Garfield has no memories of his mother. He never knew if she left him and his dad, or dumped him off on his dad, or died in childbirth, or was killed by his dad, or died some other way, or didn't die, or what. As stated above in the answer to question 5, his dad was abusive. There's cigarette burns on his shoulders and one on his left eyelid. He has plenty of other scars as well, crisscrossing his body. His bones have all been broken at some point and he had several concussions before age 10. He accidentally tricked his dad into over dosing on sleeping pills and alcohol at age 14 and escaped into the night, buying cross country bus fare with his dad's money and never looking back. Most of his memories of his dad are inaccessible to him because of the trauma associated with them. He just can't make himself remember the details (not that he ever wanted to) but the feelings are still there, especially when he closes his eyes at night (or when his trauma is triggered). As a result of his father's abuse, he is also 46% blind in his left eye and has permanent brain damage, which (along with a lack of schooling) explains his lack of any perception or intelligence scores in game. (I didn't know you could have "Minimal" in a stat but he has it in those 2. Basically just wrote his in game flaws into his backstory instead)
