Causes, Symptoms, and Treatments of Discoid Eczema
Tumblr media
Discoid eczema, also known as nummular eczema, is a type of eczema that causes itchy, coin-shaped patches of red, inflamed skin. Here are the causes, symptoms, and treatments of discoid eczema:
Causes: The exact cause of discoid eczema is unknown, but it is thought to be related to a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Certain triggers can also cause flare-ups, such as stress, dry skin, contact with irritants, and bacterial or viral infections.
Symptoms: The symptoms of discoid eczema include:
Round or oval-shaped patches of red, inflamed skin
Itching and burning sensations
Dry and scaly skin
Crusting and oozing
Thickened and leathery skin
Treatments: The treatment of discoid eczema involves relieving symptoms and preventing flare-ups. Here are some options:
Topical corticosteroids: These are creams or ointments that reduce inflammation and itching.
Emollients: These are moisturizing creams that help to hydrate and protect the skin.
Antihistamines: These are medications that can help to reduce itching and improve sleep.
Antibiotics or antiviral medications: These may be prescribed if a bacterial or viral infection is present.
Phototherapy: This involves exposing the skin to ultraviolet light to reduce inflammation and itching.
Lifestyle changes: These may include avoiding triggers, such as irritants or stress, and maintaining good skin hygiene.
It is important to seek medical advice if you suspect that you have discoid eczema, as a doctor can confirm the diagnosis and recommend appropriate treatment.

Do you always make sure you take off your makeup before going to bed? Every night? Even if you’re exhausted after a late night party? or maybe ended up falling asleep on the couch? Or you simply just didn’t have enough energy to go through the whole process of taking off your makeup from your face?
Well, you’re not alone. In a recent survey, it has been shown that many women end up sleeping with makeup on at least twice a week. Though these very women are well aware of how skipping their skin care routine can cause damage to their skin.
Known Damages caused by not removing makeup
Acne prone skin
Oily skin
Brittle eyelashes
Eye irritation
Premature Aging
Dry Lips
Clogged hair follicles
Possible eyelid cysts
Despite knowing the consequence, why is it hard for us to follow our skincare regime? And why does makeup removal fall on the bottom of our priority list at times? We think ” How much harm can our makeup do anyway?” and ignore the warnings that we are well aware of.
For most women, it comes down to their priority, from tackling work, kids, and home which makes it hard at times to go through all the hassle just to remove their makeup.
from washing, scrubbing and toning your face can seem like a mountainous task to do when all you want to do is sleep after a hard day.
Though you may find it hard, there are simple and tactful ways to remove your makeup. Here are a few makeup removal techniques I find useful!
1.Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water. (All Skin types, even sensitive) 400 ml = 200 uses
All-in-1 Cleanser & Makeup Remover. Cleanses + removes makeup + refreshes. No rinse, no harsh rubbing. For face, lips, and eyes.
This All-in-1 cleanser is surprisingly powerful yet gentle to the skin. It is specially formulated to effectively cleanse, remove makeup, and refresh skin. Like a magnet, micelles capture and lift away dirt, oil and makeup without harsh rubbing, leaving skin perfectly clean, and refreshed without over-drying.
What I loved about it? – My Skin was left perfectly cleansed and refreshed without a greasy residue and it was an all in one which was very convenient, especially to remove not just my foundation but my lipstick and eye makeup (safe to use)!

2. Garnier Purifying cleansing wipes (For Combination to oily skin) X 25 wipes per pack
Gentle cleansing wipes that remove makeup while fighting impurities For combination to oily skin
Pure Active 2 in 1 Cleansing Wipes removes makeup and purifies skin at the same time. Wipes are thick and made with a quilted soft tissue, incorporating an ultra-effective make-up removing technology which removes impurities, make-up, and even waterproof mascara.
What I loved about it? – Since I have an oily skin prone to acne, this wipe helped remove all the residue without leaving a greasy feeling on my skin, I felt refreshed and clean.
How to Use Apply it on your face, or eyes, or lips. Leave it for 5 seconds then wipe your makeup gently with no need to rub or rinse.
If you have an oily, acne-prone skin, I suggest next morning to use a good anti-blackhead scrub such as:
3. Garnier Anti-blackheads scrub (Oily spot-prone skin) 150 ml
A scrub that acts to remove blackheads For combination to oily skin prone to imperfections
The anti-blackhead scrub was specially formulated to deeply cleanse the skin and purify it by removing excess oils and reducing impurities. Its creamy formula delivers a double anti-spot and anti-marks action to leave the skin more clear and pure.
What I loved about it? – Leaves my skin smooth, reducing signs of blackheads and fading my acne marks! the more you use the product the better results you see.
How to use: Apply it to wet face and gently massage, focus on areas like forehead, nose, and chin then rinse thoroughly.
I hope you find this useful and understand the importance to remove your makeup before going to bed. You wouldn’t want those nasty chemicals absorbed and cause any damage to your skin or even health issues.
This is not a sponsored post, I was provided these products in exchange for a review all opinions here are my personal honest opinions.
