I decided slow things down a bit both in approach and subject matter. Playing with a lot of hatching and how the absence of the hatching can create volume in the negative space.

I really love the feeling of drawing with a dip pen on toothy paper.

"Nightmare dark window"

It began with a dark nightmare. But the true horror came when the nightmare spilled into reality. I witnessed the depths of human nature, the unspeakable things people are capable of when simply given the chance. It was a revelation, a chilling awakening to the truth that evil flows from humanity as naturally as honey from a bee. To live through life without grasping this, without feeling the weight of it, is to walk through the world blind.

لقد بدأت القصة بكابوس مظلم، ولكن الرعب الحقيقي تجسد عندما تحول الكابوس إلى حقيقة. لقد شهدت خفايا الطبيعة البشرية، والأشياء التي لا يمكن وصفها والتي قد يرتكبها البشر عندما تتاح لهم الفرصة. لقد كان ذلك بمثابة كشف، وإيقاظ مرعب لحقيقة مفادها أن الشر يتدفق من البشرية بش��ل طبيعي كما يتدفق العسل من النحلة. إن العيش في الحياة دون فهم هذا، ودون الشعور بثقله، هو بمثابة حياة في ظلام حالك دائم.

Just rewatched the Secret of Nimh for the first time in years and this movie has such gorgeous animation! I made these sketch studies while watching it!

Rendering Experiment - Portrait Study

I've had this little portrait sketch for a while and I've been afraid to render it because I really enjoyed how the sketchy shading looked, so I decided to try and do some stylistic lineart/shading to try and keep the interest that the sketch had. I think it turned out looking pretty cool, and it was definitely a fun experiment! What do you think?
