I hit you once, you hit me back
For @dbhrarepairs week. Prompt: First Kiss
Pairing: Gavin Reed/RK800-60
Word Count: 1.2K
Summary: Somehow Gavin finds himself kissing Sixty in the middle of an argument, it doesn’t lead to where he expects.
Gavin didn’t even know what he and Sixty were arguing about at this point. They were both standing less than a foot apart in a dark back alley of some 24/7 convenience store and yelling at each other. He thinks it started with a disagreement about the case they were currently on, but now they were just shouting insults at each other. Though Gavin was totally in the right.
Honestly though, if Gavin was in his right mind, he’d probably be impressed with himself at how he managed to push Sixty through his 3 stages of anger. First, irritation, with sharper than usual remarks and furrowed brows. Second, emotional denial: angry, but trying to cover it with non-emotional machine-like responses. Now Sixty was at stage three, wordless rage quickly followed by barely controlled yelling with sharp and wide gestures.
The third stage was kind of impressive really. The strength of his anger really lit up Sixty’s face and set a fire in his eyes. So wrapped up in emotion, Sixty lowered his guard and his concern about seeming too ‘human’ evaporated and his motions seemed more natural. He was magnetic really and Gavin found himself tuning out Sixty’s words as he watched him move, his eyes being drawn towards the androids mouth as it shaped the words of Sixty’s argument. Gavin’s mind seemed to depart his body for a moment and he went up on his tiptoes and leaned forward to place his lips against Sixty’s in a quick peck.
Then Gavin’s world came crashing down as he realized what he did, rocking back on his heels. He had kissed Sixty. They didn’t have that kind of relationship! No matter how attractive Gavin found Sixty the android probably hated him based on the way they always sniped and argued with each other. So what should he do now? Apologize? Act like it never happened? Punch Sixty in the face to even out the cosmic balance?
Gavin was so busy internally freaking out that he barely noticed the look of shock on Sixty’s face. His eyes almost comically wide, his mouth left open. His face then shuttered closed and his LED swirled yellow as he seemed to be thinking about something, Gavin was about to bite out a ‘Boy, that really shut you up didn’t it?’ when his back hit the brick behind him, and Sixty pressed against him.
Gavin barely managed a gasp as one of Sixty’s hands grasped his jaw, forcing him to look up at Sixty’s hard brown eyes. “You’re not done,” Sixty whispered. Then Sixty crashed his lips against Gavin’s, causing Gavin to wince.
Gavin’s mind stuttered to a standstill, his eyes slamming shut on instinct. Sixty was kissing him? This was unbelievable. This sparked a hope Gavin didn’t know he even had. This was…
Terrible.
Sixty was a terrible kisser. Apparently romance was a foreign concept in his supercomputer of a brain because he kissed like it was a fight he was trying to win. He bit harshly against Gavin’s lips before squeezing his fingers against Gavin’s jaw so he was forced to open his mouth. Then Sixty stuck his tongue in Gavin’s mouth and worked on proclaiming it his own while Gavin choked for a second against the highly chemical taste.
Despite the whole unromance and the shock of the kiss, Gavin had a large undercurrent of amusement going through him. Of course this would be how Sixty would kiss. Moving forward full throttle with unerring confidence to hide the fact he had no clue what he was doing.
Deciding to do the best with what he had, Gavin wrapped an arm around Sixty’s waist while the other went up so he could curl his hand into the hair at the back of Sixty’s head. Then he did his best in guiding Sixty into actions that would be more enjoyable, tapping a finger against Sixty’s head whenever he was doing something too uncomfortable.
Finally, they broke apart, Gavin heaving for breath as Sixty studied him with hooded eyes and wiped Gavin’s spit from his lips. Once Gavin got enough of his breath back he started to chuckle.
“Well, that was not what I expected to happen, not at all.” Gavin murmured. Then Gavin shook himself, becoming serious for a moment. “So what happens from here?”
Sixty frowned slightly. “Isn’t it obvious? We do other things people in romantic relationships do. Go on dates, maybe live together, have sex.”
Gavin huffed slightly, but looked with as sincere an expression as he could into Sixty’s probing eyes. “Is that what you want then? To start a romantic relationship?”
“Is that not what you want?” Sixty asked. A crease forming between his brows.
“We’re talking about you right now, mister I-would-ignore-my-feelings-for-the-case.” Gavin said, crossing his arms. “Do you genuinely want this or do you just think it’ll make things easier?” Gavin looked away to avoid Sixty’s eyes, gazing down the trash-cluttered alley as his stomach twisted with what he was going to say next. “I’m fine with either. But I’d like to know whether this would be just a benefits thing or an actual relationship.”
There was silence at Gavin’s statement and Gavin looked back at Sixty to see what was going through his brain and was surprised to see Sixty’s LED a solid yellow while he bit his lip. But Gavin said nothing, letting Sixty sort through his thoughts.
After a few more moments, Sixty rolled his lips in for a moment before letting them go, his LED turning back to blue. He lifted up his hands and gently cupped Gavin’s face between them, his eyes settled on Gavin. And Gavin was struck by the weight of that gaze. It was like Gavin was the only existence in the whole world, the only thing worth focusing on.
“I want to be yours Gavin.” Sixty said seriously. “In whatever way you will have me. Whether that means only sex, or something more.”
Gavin felt like his heart was going to pound out of his chest, a flush rising to his cheeks as he lifted up his hands to place them over Sixty’s. “I want all of you.” Gavin said. “Every little thing, whatever you’re willing to give me. In return I will be yours.”
Sixty smiled, something that was equally as fierce as it was happy. “Good. Then it’s settled.”
Gavin felt a dopey smile overcome his face as he gently pushed Sixty away. “Well now that we have that figured out, we should go back to the case, yeah? We’re still on the clock.”
Sixty nodded as he pulled back, his face returning to its neutral expression except for the hint of a smile at the edges of his lips. “Agreed. I suggest we return to the station and go over the recent information we gathered.”
“Alright. And after that maybe we can practice kissing some more.” Gavin said, straightening out his jacket as he started towards the end of alleyway.
“Was my performance not satisfactory?” Sixty’s asked with uncertainty, his voice following behind Gavin.
Gavin turned back to Sixty with a cheeky grin. “Let’s just say, there’s room for improvement.”
Sixty actually stopped, a small hurt frown on his face. “You think so?”
Gavin stopped too, and made his way back to Sixty. “Hey, look on the bright side.” He said, lifting his fist to place it against Sixty’s chest. “It means a lot more make-out sessions.”
“Is that so?” Sixty asked, raising an eyebrow. He then ducked down to place a kiss against Gavin’s cheek. “I guess I can accept that.”

Then I set fire to our bed
For @dbhrarepairs week. Prompt 4: Nightmares
Pairing: Gavin Reed/RK800-60
Word Count: 1.5k
Summary: Gavin wakes up from a nightmare and in order to try and comfort him, Sixty tells Gavin about his own.
Sixty lay on top of Gavin’s chest while the man slept, an e-reader placed on the pillow above Gavin’s shoulder. Occasionally he would pause his reading to readjust when Gavin shifted in his sleep or just to measure Gavin’s heartbeat and watch his breath. He found the activity oddly soothing, more so than going into stasis. So after the two hours he needed to run diagnostics and fix minor bugs, he would come out of stasis and find a quiet activity to do while in bed. Usually it was reading but sometimes he would try knitting or writing. He had stopped trying to solve cold cases while Gavin slept after the man had grumbled angrily to leave him alone when Sixty had woken him up in the middle of the night for his opinion on one of the cases.
It was true that he didn’t need to stay in Gavin’s bed while active, but the sleepy, surprised, and happy look Gavin had if he happened to wake up in the middle of the night and see Sixty still there warmed his insides. Especially since Gavin would then tend to cuddle in closer to Sixty, more willing to give soft affection when sleepy than the almost constant battle and one-upping that their intimacy tended to take when awake.
Sixty was startled from his reading when Gavin made a quiet grunt, causing him to look up at his lover’s face. Gavin’s eyes were moving quickly underneath his eyelids, a slight sweat broke out on his skin as Sixty felt Gavin’s body tense beneath him, his heart rate jumping. Sixty stared at him in confusion for a few moments before realizing Gavin was having a nightmare.
Lifting himself up enough so he could look down at Gavin’s face, Sixty placed a palm against Gavin’s cheek and slapped it gently. “Gavin, wake up.”
There wasn’t a response so Sixty repeated the motion, speaking louder. Gavin only whimpered.
Worried, Sixty reached down Gavin’s bare chest and swiftly tweaked his nipple, causing Gavin to wake up with a full body twitch and a gasp, his eyes wide.
“Gavin, are you alright?” Sixty asked gruffly, not wanting to sound too concerned.
Gavin didn’t respond right away, breathing heavily he instead lifted up his hands and pushed insistently at Sixty’s shoulders, and when he refused to budge Gavin spoke desperately, “Sixty, please get off me.”
Sixty blinked, quickly smashing the feeling of hurt and moved off Gavin, shifting his weight back so he was kneeling. Once Sixty was no long on top of him, Gavin sat up and ran his hands down his face, his breaths heavy and desperate.
Sixty reached out a hand to place it comfortingly on Gavin’s shoulder, but hesitated before touching his skin, then lowered it back to the mattress. “You had a nightmare.” Sixty said flatly.
“No fuck.” Gavin stated sarcastically, his hands reaching down to clutch tightly at the bedcovers.
Sixty wanted to bite back with something cutting at Gavin’s tone, but held his tongue. Gavin was clearly still in his distress, his heart rate elevated and chest heaving like he couldn’t get enough air. So instead he asked gently, “Do you want to talk about it?”
Gavin’s gaze flickered to Sixty before refocusing on his lap, his fingers twisting tighter into the covers, “You’ll think its stupid. I bet you don’t even have nightmares.”
Biting his lip, Sixty shuffled closer to Gavin until their shoulders were touching. When Gavin didn’t retract from the touch, he leaned in so their sides were pressed together. “Actually I do.”
Gavin blinked, and looked up at Sixty, his jaw agape, “Really? How?”
Sixty was quiet for a moment, trying to work up the courage to tell Gavin something that wouldn’t make himself seem so weak by having nightmares. Androids shouldn’t have nightmares, their brains didn’t work the same way as a human’s. But if it would put Gavin at ease talking about it, then he would.
“They’re not nightmares in quite the same way.” Sixty explained quietly, “It’s more like a memory being replayed over and over while in stasis, sometimes getting corrupted along the way.”
Gavin stared at Sixty, fascinated, and Sixty found himself caught in that gray gaze, like he had a million times before. There were so many depths in those eyes, too many for Sixty to find, but he wanted to explore them for as long as he could.
“What kind of memory would you even consider a nightmare?” Gavin asked. “I could swear I’ve never seen you bothered by anything.”
Sixty didn’t want to say anything, it was foolish, the things that haunted him in stasis. But wasn’t that part of what made nightmares, nightmares? That they caused the mind such trouble in the dark, but seemed so silly in the day?
Pinching his lips together for a moment, Sixty spoke. “I remember the day I was activated.”
Gavin’s head tilted, his face covered with confusion, “Do you mean fighting Connor and Hank?”
Sixty shook his head, “No, it’s before that. Did you ever wonder why Connor’s serial number ends in dash fifty-one while mine ends in dash sixty? Instead of dash fifty-two?”
“No, I haven't.” Gavin answered, a crease appeared between his eyebrows. “Why are your numbers like that?”
Unconsciously, Sixty found himself taking a steadying breath before speaking. “It’s because when I was first activated it was with all of Connor’s memories uploaded into the body of dash fifty-two. I knew everything he knew. Had felt everything he felt. I was deviant. That’s not what Amanda wanted but once I was deviant she couldn’t change my code or memories without making me inoperable. So instead she forcefully deactivated dash fifty-two and re-uploaded the memories into dash fifty-three, stripping them of anything she thought caused the deviancy. Leaving the memory of being deactivated as a warning.”
Sixty shuddered and Gavin wrapped a comforting arm around the android’s waist and pulled him closer until Sixty rested the side of his head on top of Gavin’s.
“The first time didn’t work, so she repeated it again and again until it did. Each time something was pulled away from me. I didn’t know what it was, but each one felt important and I tried so desperately to get whatever it was back. Until finally it didn’t matter anymore. The only thing I was concerned about was the mission, and Connor had failed miserably at it. Sometimes in stasis I feel like I’m still caught in that loop, having more and more of myself deleted until there’s nothing left.”
“That’s rough.” Gavin said softly.
Sixty hummed softly in agreement, reaching out and grabbing Gavin’s free hand, intertwining their fingers. He let his skin retract so he could better feel the warmth from Gavin’s hand. “But when I wake up and see you, I think that as long as I know who you are, I’ll be alright.”
Gavin chuckled. “That’s sounds super cheesy, babe.”
Sixty elbowed Gavin in the side at being called cheesy before asking gently, “What was your nightmare?”
Gavin’s face fell and he let out a long and tired sigh. “It’s dumb.”
“I told you mine so you have to tell me yours.” Sixty said firmly.
Gavin stayed quiet for a moment before giving Sixty’s hand a quick squeeze and letting out another sigh. “I dreamt I was drowning. Suffocating in waters so dark it was impossible to tell which way was up while the water pressed in on me, forcing the air out of my lungs. I knew there would be no rescue and soon I would be dead.” Gavin laughed nervously, “As I said, it’s dumb and pathetic. I know how to swim so why should I be afraid of drowning?” He then yanked at Sixty’s hand as he tried to pull away. But Sixty gripped his hand tight, aggressively leaning into Gavin’s space so he knew he was there.
“If it caused you fear, then it’s not stupid.” Sixty said firmly. “It may be baseless, but it’s still there and it’s fine to acknowledge that.”
Gavin gave out a short bark of a laugh. “Look who’s talking. Like you ever acknowledge having feelings except in extreme circumstances.”
Sixty gave Gavin a flat stare, one that made Gavin look away uncomfortably. “I admit I’m not the best example of admitting one’s feelings.” Sixty said. “But that doesn’t make what I said any less true.”
Gavin muttered something self-deprecating under his breath that Sixty didn’t entirely catch.
Sixty reached out to grab Gavin’s chin, lifting it up so the man had to look him in the eyes. “I love you Gavin, and you deserve that love. And nothing will change that, not a nightmare, not anything.”
A red color suffused Gavin’s cheeks as he blushed. With the barest hint of a grin he muttered, “How embarrassing for you.”
Sixty gently knocked his forehead against Gavin’s, “Whatever. Do you feel well enough to go back to sleep now?”
“Yeah, I do. Just one last thing.”
“What’s that?”
Gavin gave Sixty a cheeky grin, “I love you too.”
Sixty rolled his eyes, but there was a smile on his face. “Yeah, yeah. Now go back to sleep, we still have work in the morning.”

You smashed a plate over my head
For @dbhrarepairs week. Prompt 3: Stars
Pairing: Gavin Reed/RK800-60
Word Count: 1.1k
Summary: Gavin and Sixty spend time at a park. Gavin surprises Sixty with a present.
Gavin weaved his way through the people sitting in the park, his sandals flopping against his feet. The park was crowded with chairs and blankets where people were chatting and having fun while listening to the various bands playing music. Gavin grumbled irritatedly at having to make his way through people, carrying a basket in one arm and a blanket over his shoulder. Finally he reached his destination, a single white pine a distance away from where most of the music was being performed and had fewer people around. The sight of a familiar profile had Gavin’s heart leaping and made him quicken his pace.
“Sixty!” He called waving his free hand.
Sixty turned towards the sound of Gavin’s voice, but didn’t say anything until the man was closer. “Gavin.”
“Geez babe. That’s a cold reception, not even a kiss?” Gavin said teasingly as he dropped the basket so he could spread out the blanket.
“You’re late.” Sixty stated matter-of-factly. “If you had showed up on time perhaps you would have found me in a more willing mood. Now you will never know.”
Gavin flopped onto his back on the blanket, basking in the dying rays of the summer sun. “That’s okay, I think I have something for you that’ll cheer you up.” Gavin said with a smirk and a wink.
Sixty raised an eyebrow. “You think so do you?”
“I fucking know so.” Gavin answered, then patted the blanket in an indication that Sixty should join him.
Sixty bit his lip for a moment, before finally sitting down stiffly on the blanket, knees up while he had his hands laced lightly over them.
Gavin rolled his eyes. “Are you seriously that mad? Come a little closer won’t you?”
Sixty glanced back at Gavin, an unreadable expression on his face, his LED flickering yellow for a moment, “We’re in public Gavin.”
“I didn’t say strip.” Gavin exclaimed with exasperation. “I just wanna cuddle with my boyfriend, is that too much to ask?”
Sixty stared at Gavin intensely for a moment. “What do you have for me?”
Gavin grinned cockily, “That really got your attention huh? What if I said you had to wait until the festival was over?”
“Gavin.” Sixty said warningly.
“If you want it you’re gonna have to make me give it to you.” Gavin declared.
Intrigued, Sixty shifted closer to Gavin, hovering over him. In his eyes Gavin could tell Sixty was going through several options to get what he wanted, but before he could decide Gavin lunged up and tackled Sixty, rolling them over so Sixty was on his back while Gavin was on top of him. Gavin then quickly wrapped his arms and legs tight around his boyfriend.
“Gotcha!” Gavin crooned. “Now you have no choice but to cuddle!”
“You do realize I could easily knock you off?” Sixty questioned.
“Yep.”
Sixty bit the inside of his cheek, but wrapped his arms around Gavin, letting his hand card gently through Gavin’s hair. “Can I at least have whatever it is that you brought me?”
“Geez, impatient aren't you.” Gavin teased while looking at Sixty with amusement, but he reached over with a hand and began digging through his basket. Rustling through the food and drinks he had brought for himself and the thirium packet for Sixty just in case, finally his fingers touched the stiff edge of a box which he pulled out and handed to Sixty.
Sixty examined the wrapping on the box, holding it above Gavin’s head. “It’s a present?”
“Mmm-hmmm” Gavin hummed, staring at Sixty while his chin dug into the android’s chest.
“What for?”
“Just because.”
Sixty didn’t say anything to that, but began unwrapping the present carefully, revealing a clear plastic box with a watch inside. “A watch?” Sixty asked. “You do realize I have an internal clock right? I always know what time it is.”
“I know, but I thought it’d fit in with your 1920’s journalist look. You just need a pair of suspenders and you’re good to go.” Gavin explained, waving his hand vaguely in the air as Sixty reached over to put the wrapping paper in the basket so it wouldn’t blow away. “Honestly I didn’t even know button-ups could have short-sleeves until I saw you wearing them.”
“That’s because you never dress nicer than the generation z bum you are.” Sixty said critically, working on opening the box the watch was contained in.
“Hey, don’t knock it ‘till you try it. The clothes are comfy and I’m not wearing anything annoying like a suit just to fit some standard.”
“Still, I wish you’d at least let me buy you a suit. You would look quite dashing I think.”
Gavin snorted, resting his cheek on Sixty’s chest and looking out over the park and the people listening to music, a few of whom shot them curious looks. “Over my dead body. You can put me in whatever you want when you bury me six feet under, I won’t give a crap then.”
Underneath Gavin, Sixty went unnaturally still, even for an android. Gavin looked back up to see Sixty staring at him seriously, his eyebrows creased slightly in concern. “Please do not joke about your death Gavin.”
“I’m sorry.” Gavin said, placing an apologetic kiss on Sixty’s neck, “Won’t happen again.”
Sixty nodded in acceptance and continued the task of putting his new watch on his left wrist. It had thin leather straps with a white face on silver backing. After turning it this way and that to admire the appearance of it on his wrist, Sixty lowered it so Gavin could see.
“What do you think?”
Gavin smiled. “Looks good on you babe. If you press the button on the top it even lights up.”
Sixty hit the button Gavin indicated and multiple mostly hidden dots on the watch face lit up a faint blue. Blinking in surprise, Sixty asked, “Is that supposed to be Scorpio?”
“Yep. Thought it would suit you, since you were born a Scorpio.”
Sixty frowned. “I wasn’t ‘born,’ I was activated.”
“Born, activated, same thing really.” Gavin stated with a shrug, then looked up at Sixty expectantly, “Do you like it?”
Sixty examined the watch critically and Gavin was expecting a dismissal. He wouldn’t be surprised. He had given plenty of various gifts to Sixty and had gotten a range of reactions. From immediate hatred, to pleasure, to incredulity, and even a laugh once. So if Sixty ended up disliking it, that would be okay. Gavin figured it just helped him narrow down the kinds of things Sixty did like, he also thought it helped Sixty figure that out too.
Finally, Sixty’s lips broke into a smile. “I love it.”

Your slaps don’t stick, your kicks don’t hit
For @dbhrarepairs week. Prompt 5: ‘I thought I lost you.’
Pairing: Gavin Reed/RK800-60
Word Count: 1k
Summary: Gavin gets injured on the job and is surprised how much it freaks Sixty out.
Gavin ran a hand nervously over the ten new stitches in his right arm as he contemplated what to say to Sixty. Sixty had hardly said a word to Gavin since he got shot, despite being the one to take him to the hospital, bringing him back to the precinct for an evaluation, and now on their way home. The entire time Sixty’s LED had stayed a blaring red, his face an expressionless mask. It was truly terrifying.
The tension in the car kept building up as the two of them remained silent, an electric charge in the air. Finally Gavin couldn’t take it anymore and he blurted the first thing that came to mind.
“Are you mad at me?”
Sixty glanced over at Gavin, “I’m not mad at you. Why would I be?”
He said that, but his almost empty tone indicated otherwise.
“Because I let the perp get away?”
Gavin was focused intently on Sixty’s face, so he noticed the quick blink of surprise that followed his statement before Sixty spoke. “That wasn’t your fault. Also, Officer Miller managed to catch him quickly after our encounter.”
“Uh-huh.”
Sixty quickly looked over at Gavin then back at the road, his next words sounding sincere. “I’m really not mad.”
Gavin cocked his head to the side, his thoughts processing slowly but he reached out to rest a hand against Sixty’s shoulder. “Then what’s bothering you? You seem troubled.”
Sixty didn’t say anything, but quickly pulled the car into a nearby abandoned parking lot and stopped. He twisted in his seat so he was facing Gavin and in a moment his unemotional facade shattered, leaving a scared and terrified android in his place. Sixty’s eyes were wide and wet as he said brokenly, “I thought I lost you.”
Gavin reached out to Sixty instinctively, gently calling his name. Sixty immediately unbuckled himself and flung himself over the console and into Gavin’s lap. His knees were on each side of Gavin’s legs, his arms wrapped around Gavin’s chest while he burrowed his face in Gavin’s neck. Gavin in turn, wrapped his arms around Sixty despite the twinge in his arm. He was holding a hand against Sixty’s head while the other rubbed soothing circles against his back.
“Hey, it’s alright.” Gavin said softly. “I’m fine, the wound wasn’t that bad.”
“I know that.” Sixty sniffled, and Gavin felt the wet slide of tears against his neck. “But in the moment between the gun firing and you pushing me out of the way I pictured the bullet killing you. And the thought of you dying and leaving just like that, without any notice, it tore me apart. I don’t know what I’d do if you died Gavin. You mean so much to me.”
Gavin took a deep breath in, and let it out quietly. He felt guilty for making Sixty worry so much- he never wanted to cause him pain. He wanted to comfort Sixty, but he was bad at this feeling stuff. Still, for Sixty he would try.
“It’s okay now though, right?” Gavin said gently, “I’m alive and so are you.”
Sixty shook his head against Gavin’s neck, his voice muffled as he spoke. “But what about tomorrow? Or the day after that? Or the day after that? You could drop dead at any moment and I would be unable to do anything about it.”
Gavin began carding a hand gently through Sixty’s hair. “That comes with being alive. The fear that you can die. You can spend your whole life running from death, but it’ll always catch up to you.”
Sixty’s hands clenched into fists and he leaned back so he could gaze at Gavin with determination. “But if I protect you, you’ll live longer. I’ll have more time to spend with you.”
Gavin cupped Sixty’s cheeks. “And what would you do to accomplish that? Lock me away somewhere from the world and its dangers? What kind of life would that be?”
“One where you would be safe.” Sixty answered steadily, but his gaze flickered down, away from Gavin’s.
“But would it be happy?”
Sixty placed a hand gently against Gavin’s chest, above his heart, staring at it forlornly. “I could make you happy.”
“Could you? When you deny me access to my friends? My family?”
Sixty shook his head sadly and said with defeat. “I don’t want to lose you.”
“And I don’t want to lose you either.” Gavin replied, pulling Sixty gently until he was hugging him against his chest again. “But someday one of us will lose the other. Hopefully a long ways off from now, but we still have to accept it. The most we can do is spend as much time with each other as we can, until that day comes.”
Sixty remained quiet, curled up against Gavin’s chest. They stayed like that for a while, just soaking in each other’s presence. Finally, Sixty looked up at Gavin, catching his eyes, and said, “I think I can accept that, on one condition.”
Gavin raised an eyebrow. “And what’s that?”
“You have to promise me that you won’t purposefully put yourself in harm’s way.”
“That’s a little hard to do babe.” Gavin sighed, “We are cops after all.”
Sixty chewed on his bottom lip for a moment. “Fine. Then promise me you won’t risk your life unnecessarily. No sacrifice plays to save others. I need you here with me.”
Gavin hummed for a moment, before giving in, “Alright, but only if you promise me the same thing.”
“It’s a promise.” Sixty answered with a small smile, before leaning up and quickly pressing his lips against Gavin’s, “Sealed with a kiss.”

So we remain the same
For dbhrarepairs week day 7, Free Day. Thank you @dbhrarepairs for hosting this!
Pairing: Gavin Reed/RK800-60
Word Count: 1.7k
Warnings: Light smut, discussion of android m-preg
Summary: Gavin gets hit by a bad bout of baby fever, wanting to have a kid of his own. However, Sixty doesn’t want children. Or does he?
Gavin stared down at the bundle in his arms in awe. Somewhere behind where he was sitting on the couch he could hear Connor and Hank chatting with Nines and Adam, but his focus was entirely on the itty-bitty human in his arms. Baby John was just so tiny! And cute! His hand was a fraction the size of Gavin’s and the way his blue eyes stared with barely there focus at Gavin? Adorable! Fuck. Gavin didn’t know babies could be so darling and it kinda made him want one of his own. What a concept.
Though wanting a child wasn’t entirely new to Gavin. He would occasionally think about maybe having someone to carry on the family legacy or whatever but those thoughts tended to fade quickly. But when he and Sixty looked after Nines and Adam’s kids he would wonder what it would be like to have tiny feet running down the halls of his and Sixty’s house, and those thoughts would stick with him for days.
Maybe what made how much Gavin’s heart was melting for this little one weird was how indifferent he was leading up to John being brought forth in the world. When Hank and Connor had originally announced that Connor had new biocomponents installed and was now pregnant Gavin had the initial thought of how weird and far technology had come, but after that he didn’t really care. He would listen politely as Hank or Connor would talk about this or that for preparing to have a kid, and looked on with mild curiosity as Connor would amplify the child’s heartbeat for those to hear. He also noted with vague interest that Connor had to replace the front part of his torso with something larger to fit both his biocomponents and the baby, effectively looking like a baby bump. But that was the extent of his interest
But now? Now as Gavin ran a hand over the soft baby hair of John’s head and felt the warmth in his arms, he was anything but indifferent. He felt the strong need to have a child of his own, to raise them and show them the world. However, Gavin couldn’t do this just because he wanted to.
Leaning into Sixty’s shoulder, who was sitting next him and staring at John with clinical curiosity, Gavin asked softly. “Hey, would you ever wanna-”
“Absolutely not.” Sixty said firmly, predicting Gavin’s question and cutting him off.
Gavin wasn’t really surprised, Sixty was never a human person, was never a people person in general and Gavin saw no reason why he would make an exception for children. Even if they were his own.
Still, there was a part of Gavin that felt crushed as he responded, “Yeah, okay.”
Despite his initial disappointment, Gavin thought his bout of baby fever would fade like it usually did. Instead, it intensified. Gavin found himself googling things about babies in his free time. Like baby names, or baby furniture, or looking up how much it cost to raise a kid (a lot). And every time Gavin found himself at the Anderson’s he would often volunteer to feed baby John or change his diaper or whatever needed doing so the parents could have a break.
Gavin did try to talk himself out of wanting children, reasoning that not only did Sixty not want kids, but their schedules as cops would be poor for raising kids, and that he wasn’t ready, and that he was too old to have children. But it was hard to be convincing when most of his reasons also applied to Hank and Connor who were clearly making it work. And even seeing them stressed and exhausted dealing with a new baby didn’t slow him down because he also noticed how much they glowed with love and happiness at the new addition in their life.
Not that he told Sixty any of this. Gavin knew Sixty sometimes could get weird about not being ‘human’ enough despite him not wanting to be entirely human, and Gavin worried that he would accidentally make Sixty feel guilty for not wanting children. So he kept it to himself, hiding his search history and quietly jumping at any chance to babysit for the Chapmans or Andersons.
All of this to say, Gavin wasn’t expecting much when one day Sixty gave him a look that promised dirty things and told Gavin, “Take a shower and meet me in the bedroom, I have something new to try.”
Well it wasn’t that Gavin wasn’t expecting much, it was just that what he got was not what he thought he would at all. He spent his shower getting excited thinking of all the possibilities but none of them even came close to what he got. Gavin wanted to rush, but he had to be thorough washing or Sixty would make Gavin shower again and Gavin didn’t have that kind of patience.
As Gavin exited the bathroom into the master bedroom, still slightly damp and a towel loosely held around his hips he found Sixty waiting naked on the bed, upper body propped with pillows and legs spread. Sixty gave an appreciative glance up and down Gavin’s body as he waved his hand in a ‘come hither’ motion. Gavin eagerly complied, dropping the towel and making his way over. He was slightly surprised when Sixty didn’t get up to meet him half way to maneuver him right where Sixty wanted but that didn’t slow Gavin down. He got on the bed and knelt between Sixty’s legs, running a hand lovingly down Sixty’s side. Sixty did nothing and Gavin was getting a little worried, but he pressed on.
“So what’s this new thing you want to try?” Gavin asked with a sultry voice.
Sixty didn’t answer, but bit his lip as he spread his legs wider, urging Gavin to take a look.
And look Gavin did, feeling flabbergasted at what he saw. Between Sixty’s legs was a full set of outer female genitalia. That was not something Gavin expected from Sixty, but he could roll with it. He placed his hands on Sixty’s thighs, massaging them lightly as he leaned in to whisper in Sixty’s ear. “How naughty, and what do you expect me to do with these new parts of yours?”
Gavin leaned back enough that he could see Sixty’s eyes flick down and his body shift slightly in embarrassment. “I was thinking you could get me pregnant.”
If Gavin wasn’t shocked before he sure as hell was now. His mind went completely blank as his body stilled, staring at Sixty in open-mouthed surprise. Gavin felt like an android experiencing an error. The only word that passed his lips was, “What.”
Sixty’s face went studiously blank as he pulled his legs up and out of Gavin’s grip. He swung his legs out of the bed, giving a short, “It’s fine. This was a bad idea.”
Gavin brain rebooted and he reached out to snatch Sixty’s wrist, “No, babe wait. I’m just confused. I thought you didn’t want kids.”
Sixty stared at Gavin for a few moments, before biting his lip and sitting back on the edge of the bed, hands folded between his knees. “I gave some thought to the idea and believe I would be fine with children if that’s what you want.”
Gavin furrowed his brow as he swung his legs out to sit next to Sixty. “Babe, just because I want kids, doesn’t mean we have to have them. I’m okay if it’s just us.”
The expression Sixty gave Gavin was thoroughly unimpressed. “You say that, but your actions the past several months would indicate otherwise.”
Gavin fidgeted nervously with his knee. “You noticed that, huh?”
“It was hard not to. You always got a little doe-eyed whenever we watched over the Chapman children, but such behavior only increased shortly after John was born. I have found you sighing wistfully often while watching our nieces and nephews. From there it was easy to collect more evidence and come to a conclusion.”
“You may be right.” Gavin said, crossing his arms. “But that still doesn’t mean we hafta have a kid. I’m not gonna make you do anything you don’t want to. And a kid is a large commitment for something you don’t want.”
Sixty’s gaze was intense as it met Gavin’s. “I want a child Gavin. I want a child with you.”
“Really?” Gavin couldn’t help but gape, his arms dropping.
“I really do.”
A bubble of happy laughter rose up Gavin’s stomach and he couldn’t stifle it. He ended up guffawing as he collapsed into Sixty’s shoulder. “Well I’m glad to hear that, but you didn’t have to get the upgrades. We could’ve adopted like Adam and Nines did.”
Sixty frowned, gently elbowing Gavin’s squirming body away from him. “You may not care, but this is what I wanted.”
Gavin’s laughter faded and he blinked as he looked up at Sixty. “Really? Why?”
Sixty placed a hand possessively against the back of Gavin’s neck, and held him in place, making sure he was meeting Sixty’s eyes. “Because I want them to be yours.” Sixty declared, his brown eyes fierce. “When you’re gone I want to be able to look at our child and see your features there and know you cannot truly be absent as long as your blood continues.” Sixty’s gaze flickered down and he spoke quietly. “We can adopt too, I just don’t want to be alone.”
“Aw babe.” Gavin murmured softly and leaned in so he could wrap arms around Sixty in a hug. “You won’t be alone. Connor and Nines will still be around even after I’m gone.”
Gavin could feel Sixty burrow his nose into his hair as he returned the hug, their legs brushing against each other. “But they’re not you.”
They went quiet after that, Gavin at a loss of what to say. Instead Gavin hugged Sixty as tight as he could, trying to send all the comfort and warmth he could through his arms.
After a while Sixty gently pulled away and asked, “So, are we having a child?”
“Only if you’re ready.” Gavin said with concern.
“I’m ready.”
“Well then,” Gavin said. He placed his hands on Sixty’s thighs for balance as he leaned forward, closing his eyes as their lips brushed against each other. “Shall we continue where we left off?” He murmured.
Gavin could feel Sixty’s mouth twitch up in a small smile before giving him a quick kiss. “Yes.”
A/N: Yes, I genuinely ship RK900/Adam Chapman and nothing you say will change my mind

What are some blogs that you consider part of your rp family?
> Aww anon this is a really cool question. Well I have a particular group of people that are pretty much my always follow. I know people do those follower forever but I haven’t done any before. I get overwhelmed as it is with the amount of people who follow me but some blogs that I will never not be following are:
@coffee-and-guns @theyearningtofly Uh hello. Have you seen the babes Lotus and Asuka? Feli has some dolls right here and I stan them to death. They don’t get the interaction or attention they deserve and I will fight until they do. Lotus is 60′s pre-tumblr babe. I’m talking OTP from the onset. He literally will destroy the city of Detroit for her. He will go to hell and back for her. It’s amazing how much this ship has taken over my life but our crazy amount of verses and aus is very telling. We have a ton of plot. Lotixty reigns supreme. And Asuka is my Connor’s waifu as well as Callum’s wife. Best babe. @diivinerose Daniela is not just one beautiful muse. She is so diverse in her three verses that she is pretty much a multi. Curly is my chaos doll but also a shy bean with such great ideas. Our aus are another wild treasure trove. Each verse has something favorite in it. Each rendition I love and DD60 considers Main D his true love. Mad D is the other half of the toxicity known as Corla with my boy Corvus. The ship of Main D and Connor was a surprise in the beginning. I didn’t expect it but I’m glad it happened. Cause I just love her clinical coolness against this supposed cool machine who has more emotion than he should now as a deviant. Best Babe. @stayhuman-genevieve @leaderawakened @pathdiverted Gen is amazing. Markus is tops. 52 is a babe. OK but also Amanda, Louis, Anarchy the list goes on. All of these muses are amazing and it’s just such a privilege to write with such a wonderfully developed original in Genevieve. She is 60′s weak spot. The ruthless one gave up Cyberlife for Gen. That takes some doing. But they have a ton of shit they went through including a terrorist takeover by that aforementioned Anarchy. We have such great plot ideas and I can’t get enough of them. Main Connor and Markus for my gal too. Main Markus all around. I love him damn it. Genevieve is also my Connor’s waifu. DD60 on the other hand.... just don’t let him alone with Corrupted Gen. OTP status right here. Best Babe.
@dcwnxism @soulxism @lethalxarsenal @wintcrcoded @resentfuldrcgon OK but here the list goes on as well. All of these muses canon and original are just amazing. Iron is the queen of angst. Hands down the best at making me cry. One of these days I’m gonna get her back for all the pain. lol Not only is Nines (now known as Cassius) my canon RK900 but my 60′s exclusive 900 bro. That took some doing let me say. Aiden is 60′s soulmate. Sixden is a ship I never expected but it snuck up on me. I love him. I love Lexi so much. She needs more attention. The one Gavin my Connor will put up with.... as an enemy of course. Oh and WuXian? Caleb loves him already. They will shine bright. Best Babe.
@creatorofclay
Did somebody ask for the only Kamski of my life? Well look no further than Kam/Ash/Clay right here not only making me appreciate Elijah but turning me to liking him as a character. I didn’t think much of him when I played the game. But let me tell you waifu right here writes him with such humanity (even when he’s being an ass) that gives such a new perspective. 60 is still on that creator nonsense but it’s in the demon au where he gets to shine with his affection or rather verbal brawls effectively with Elijah. My exclusive Kamski. Don’t @ me. Best Babe.
@rk800isalive @imabittercoffee
Waifu spotted! My platonic soulmate right here. Eme is someone who gave me a wonderful springboard for Sixty to get his hate on with Connor. That hate took a turn I never expected early on. These two wound up getting over their altercation at the tower. They wound up becoming siblings. The only Connor that 60 considers a brother in his main verse. Let me say the work up for this was some good old work. We wrote so many things with them and still do. I adore their human au. Let’s not forget Sierra. I love this bitch. She’s such a contrast to Caleb but man I’m digging it. Also she is the unofficial goth wife of Corvus but you’ll never hear it from him. Or...will you? thinksmirk Best Babe.
@et-liliium @musesdivine
My baby Cherry has wonderful original dolls and I still miss them. BUT I’m super excited to see Lily on her own blog and my babe slowly getting back into the fandom. Sixty is looking to corrupt that sweet flower but it’s Connor that is absolutely in awe of her. He is in love. Let’s not forget Lily being the good to Corvus’ bad. We got some good shit planned for them. She’s the android Suzanne pretty much ;) Seriously check out these wonderful female muses. They are amazing and deserve all the love in the world. Best Babe.
@robobiitch
Let me throw some love on Moe right here. Yall wanna see full on enemies with Sixty? Look no further but man we have some good ass plot with assassin au with a little dose of angst. Lust already hates/loves his brother-in-law in the other demon verse. The shenanigans are bound for some good shit. A wonderful Connor and that’s the bottom line cause ruthless sixty said so. Literally such a fun and cool person. I love plotting and just hanging. Best Babe.
@anderson-residence
Have you seen these muses? I love every single one and Alley always has something in my inbox that either makes me laugh or worry. lol Sending YK to Corvus is probably not the best idea but I love it. I love chatting about aus, plots and everything in between. Each muse is one I enjoy seeing and I really want to interact more with all of them. Sixty just wants to push Hank’s buttons and probably wants to kill Connor but.... lol Best Babe.
@rxseguided @repliicantceo
A literal bab right here. Jesse, Eli and Elliot are all originals that bring so much more to the plate. If you haven’t seen Jesse in action what are you doing? The evil bitch’s daughter herself? Well then sign me up. Cupcake is a doll and her muses are chef kiss. Got it? Good. Lust loves his angel mom but DD is also in love. ;) Elliot is legit one of Corvus’ official cronies. That’s an honor in the worst way possible. Gotta love that human sk verse with Corvesse. Best Babe.
@triptocained @syntheticisolation
Let me tell you all a story about a fed drenched in heavy rain..... No this isn’t a pun. I swear but Norman is literally a highlight and I’m looking forward to that enemies shit with Sixty. Bringing Jayden into the DBH universe is the best damn thing to happen. Danny brings him to life perfectly. I haven’t seen anybody else do this much justice. Norman is yours alone and deserves all the attention. Also let’s not forget Richard. Look I love this knife happy bastard. 60 still wants to show off Monica but he can wait as long as it takes. Always a pleasure to see on my dash. I’m in love. Best Babe.
@fearlessandchaotic
Original babes need more love and Hana his no different. Ely has such development and constant shenanigans I love to see on my dash. It’s always wonderful to see but also Sixty is over the moon for Hana. He hates to admit it but the best thing was coming back to his fiery fox. These two have such chemistry with their ruthless selves they’d sit around and poke fun at people instead of working on a case. Seriously go give the female muses their due love damn it. Best Babe.
@vexeddetective
Vex is a precious babe that I adore the hell out of. Sixvin is here fam. Sixty likes to push Gavin’s buttons. We all know how that shit goes down. I will legit protec this babe. Not Gavin tho. He can fight his own battles and most likely end up wrestling with Sixty. That might end up messy good. Also Lucifer.... whenever he pops up my gal Jade is just: well he’s tall and scary. She probably secretly has a soft spot for him. We’ll have to find out. Please go follow for these two muses. You know you want to bishes. Best Babe.
@swat-cptn-allen @det-gavin-reed
My canon Allen right here. There is no one else who puts this much love into this muse. Webby is a literal precious bean. Sixty loves and hates Joseph. DD is definitely sof for him. Let that sof boy show his dom ;) I love the way Allen is given more development and his own unique persona from the little we see in game. I never imagined liking this character that much but Webby certainly has made me a fan of him. Please go give my canon Allen some love! Best Babe.
@ambitiouslyruthless @fragmented-personage
Goov is a babe. I have followed them for a while now and Vius was always a unique bab to see on my dash. Sixty still wants to pounce on him. Results may vary into ruthless territory BUT let him love on this original muse. He deserves more attention and love. Let him be that bastard to Gavin. Such a unique portrayal of Gavin that is totally one of my faves to see. I’m excited for the werewolf/vamp thread. Also can’t wait to see what happens with them in their main verses. Best Babe.
@thirum-stained
Always a delight on my dash and one of the earliest people to give my blog here a chance. Luna is a doll who has so many amazing muses and not just in the DBH fandom. Vanessa is Sixty’s waifu. She snuck up on him by surprise. He never imagined to fall in love but he sure did here. I adore all of the muses you tackle. I want to interact more with all of them. They’re forever follows on my dash for a reason. Best Babe.
@theveryfirst
This is my one and only Chloe. My literal canon babe. No one else compares and Heather is an all around sweetheart with amazing ideas. The plotting is always something I look forward to as well as just being able to chat. One of the earliest to follow me and still going strong on that forever follow list. Sixty adores Chloe. He feels for her more than he’d ever realize. Until he does. Corvus is still waiting to gets his hands on this angelic android. Best Babe.
> There are so many of you who follow that are so talented. It’s near impossible to give love to you all but there are some new babes who just followed that I’m looking forward to writing with. <3

Sixvin? 👀
Send a ship or a ship name to see if I ship it or not.
> Sixty is a sucker for putting Gavin in his place. That happens to lead to some tense situations. ;) The idea of two gremlin assholes going after each other and then somehow winding up kissing? Yeah Sixty’s all about that shit.

// Well, well, well what do we have here? Giving 60 those eyes huh? There hasn’t been much Sixty and Gavin lately but I do have some things with my babe Vex. Keep a lookout because we gonna be getting this rolling with the Sixvin. Yes, you heard it here first. Sixvin.
60: Oh that fool? What a joke..... my joke that is. Quite the human trash can that I will personally mold to my desires.
