I've been a long time Magi The Magic of Labyrinth fan, and one of my favourite things from the series was the ability of the dungeon capturers to be a vessel and embody their Djinns. From the very first time that I was introduced to the series years ago, I'd thought a lot about how the Equip feature actually suits the Beyblade universe well, it would be a cool way to show the connection between a Beyblader and their Bit-beast.

Thanks to whoever sent in this prompt, because I was finally able to gather the motivation to work on making a Takao-Seiryu fusion edit!

Sinbad: He technically has 7 djinns, but the other three don’t really get used, the only reason he doesn’t have more is because he was banned from entering another dungeon by the Djinn because he already had too much power. His Valefor Djinn equip is interesting because he’s not just manifesting ice, he is restricting the movements of molecules in a substance, which allows him to manipulate its state. He can destroy entire mountains with one strike of lightning using Baal’s vessel. He can also create tornadoes that can destroy mountains using Focalor’s vessel. he really doesn’t like mountains apparently. He probably shouldn’t win because that would only inflate his ego further, but he is considered one of the most powerful people in-universe. Considering how many metal vessels he gathered over the years he feels like the definition of a multi element character. He was also the first person to conquer a dungeon and have a metal vessel (his first was Baal). As a whole Sinbads Djinn and ability to manipulate different elements are important aspects of his character because of the way it feeds into his arrogance and belief that he is above everyone else, having 7 of what are essentially womd in cannon does make him so much more powerful than most other people, which only isolated him further. He was put on a pedestal and seen as untouchable, he was idolised by one of the main characters. Having this kind of power cemented the fact that he is special, the singularity and that kind of thought process is what fuelled his actions later on. Sinbad is a deeply complex character, he did a lot of things wrong and is very morally grey, but it is undeniable that he turned out the way he did because of his lived experience, considering everything that happened it’s not surprising he did what he did even if I don’t agree with it. Anyway, his Valefor Djinn equip is essentially his fursona and I don’t think people appreciate that enough.

A compilation of some of my djinn equip Sinbad fanarts. The reasons I’m posting these now are because 1) the Baal one completely disappeared from my tumblr blog at some point. I have no clue what happened to it, I had many notes and lovely tags on it too. orz 2) today’s date is 7/7. I really love Sinbad from the manga/anime Magi: Labyrinth of Magic. He's so cool and badass at the same time (and so handsome too!) that I tried making a version of him on his Baal Djinn Equip mode. Took me more than a year doing this because I had to juggle my time for work, family and other social stuff. Too many small details, but I enjoyed every minute I'm doing it. I'm also *planning* on doing Focalor and Hakuryuu's Belial, if ever given the luxury of time. --- Enjoy, and have an awesome day! ( ˘ ³˘)

Magi needs more Love again!!

Since it has been quite a long time since Magi ended, I always feel quite empty. Nothing can ever conquer my intense love for this Series and I decided to do some stuff again every now and then between work and other things that are going on in my life. I bet tons of people have already translated the Magi Encyclopedia, but I’m just gonna pick stuff I personally want to try to scan and translate, as a humble peasant who is studying japanese all by her lonesome. So mistakes will probably occur but I will try my best! That said, let’s go go!! Of course I will start with some Sinbad stuff, cause I’m a Sin Hoe.

During Djinn Equip it will turn into 3 Necklaces. The Earrings are as usual. 

The whole body is covered in scales

It’s characteristics are the whole body being covered in scales and the tail of a dragon. According to Yunan, the tail is very fluffy.

The Djinn that resides in the sword - Baal

With a grumpy face, Baal is the blue dragon that manipulates Lightning.

The sword of Sin’s father Badr breaks during an adventure and he is now using a different one.

Magi Trivia

For anyone not having noticed this and only have seen the anime or never read Sinbad no Bouken, here’s some short Trivia!

The sword Sin is using after Sinbad no bouken ends and Magi starts is a completely different sword. That is because the sword of Badr was broken during the Arc of the destruction of Sindria 1.0 in Volume 17 of Sinbad no Bouken.

Barbarossa used the power of his Djinn ( Glasya-Labolas (グラシャラボラス)) to destroy the Metal Vessels of Serendine and Sinbad.

You know, i can't lie, i never noticed or put two and two together in regards to Baal and Sinbad in Magi / Sinbad in SnB being two completely different swords!! And now i'm just like....where did Sinbad in Magi get THAT sword from to rehouse Baal, how did i not notice this until now?! O_o
