In the mid-1950s, the U.S. Department of Defense sought a new assault rifle for its infantry, influenced by the adoption of the AK-47 and the U.S. withdrawal from the FAL program. The Springfield Armory's M14, a derivative of the M1 Garand chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO, was adopted in 1958 but soon proved inadequate in Vietnam.

Around the same time, Eugene Stoner developed the AR-10, a 7.62×51mm rifle, but its design struggled with the cartridge's recoil. When the U.S. military switched to 5.56×45mm, Stoner adapted the AR-10 into the AR-15, which ArmaLite proposed to the Army in 1959 but was initially rejected. In 1960, the Air Force, led by Gen. Curtis LeMay, ordered 6,000 AR-15s. By 1965, after proving reliable in combat, the Army adopted it as the M16, with the M16A1 in service until 1984. Before That.. COLT XM16E1

The Progenitor Of M16 Rifle Series. The one who started it all. The XM16E1 was the first true military-issued M16 variant and played a key role in transitioning the U.S. Army from the M14 Battle Rifle to a lightweight, high-rate-of-fire assault rifle. Key Features of the XM16E1:

Forward Assist: Unlike the initial AR-15 and early M16 models, the XM16E1 introduced a forward assist on the right side of the receiver to manually ensure the bolt was fully locked. This was a response to reliability concerns, though Stoner himself opposed its necessity.

Three-Prong Flash Hider: It retained the three-prong flash suppressor, which was later replaced with a birdcage-style suppressor on the M16A1 due to durability issues (the prongs could snag on vegetation).

Chrome-Lined Chamber Issue: Early XM16E1 rifles lacked chrome-lined chambers, leading to frequent malfunctions when used in Vietnam's humid jungle conditions. Fouling and corrosion contributed to "failure to extract" malfunctions, which were later addressed in the M16A1 by adding a chrome-lined chamber and barrel.

Problems & Fixes:

Ammunition Issue: The original 5.56×45mm M193 rounds used ball powder instead of extruded powder (as originally intended), leading to excessive fouling and jamming.

Cleaning Kits & Training: Many soldiers were not initially issued cleaning kits or proper maintenance instructions, worsening the reliability issues.

M16A1 Upgrade: The XM16E1 was formally redesignated as the M16A1 in 1967, incorporating a chrome-lined chamber and barrel, improved buffer system, and closed-end flash suppressor to resolve its issues.

COLT M16A1

The M16A1 was the first fully standardized M16 variant adopted by the U.S. military in 1967, replacing the XM16E1 and improving upon its shortcomings. COLT M16A2/M16A3

It introduced a three-round burst mode instead of full-auto M16A3, Variant that Issued for United States Navy Having A Full Auto Configuration like Old M16A1. Yess absolutely the best faction in the game 🙏💖💖 Lycaon was super hard to make yeah! I'm glad Nat helped with the head 😭🙏💖💖 I had to edit the head a lot tho but still worth it <3 The textures were also super hard to place since his legs are considered weapons so I had to fit 3 big textures on a small area 🥲🥲

Sims 4: Naturally Young Challenge

Disclaimer: This challenge doesn't require any DLCs or packs. I highly recommend the MCCC mod, although it's possible to play through the challenge without it. You may play with any mods or cc you like as long as it doesn't greatly impact the challenge.

People have been talking about this Sim for years. From what you heard, they live alone in a small house, living from the plants they grow. You know people who talked to them and who described them as a polite young Sim open to talk to strangers. So why does everyone seem so afraid of them?

Your parents told you never to go near the house this particular Sim lives in. As a child you never understood their concerns, but as you got older it became harder for the adults to hide things from you. Stories spread like fleas, after all. Stories about people who became too close with them... and who never returned from their house. Rumours about the Sim have always been part of the local life, each one more sickening than the other. Are the missing Sims held hostage? Killed? Locked away in the dark?

Despite the warnings, there are always those eager to meet this Sim, be it out of curiosity or even pity for the lonely dweller. And, well... You're young, you're supposed to be brave, right? But when you actually meet them, your heart stops for a moment. They're breathtakingly beautiful and their smile makes you fall in love instantly. Over your bliss you don't even notice the strangest thing about them; They're way too young to have been living here for as long as the people claim...

Welcome to the Naturally Young Challenge!

The goal of this challenge is to stay a young adult for as long as possible and to support yourself solely by fishing, planting and gathering. In order to maintain your youth (and, therefore, near immortality) you will need to rely on the life essence of others - and your most loyal friend, the Cow Plant.

CAS: To start the challenge, create a teenage Sim of any gender. They need the Romantic and Loves Outdoors trait, as well as the Freelance Botanist aspiration. Upon aging up to a young adult, you may freely choose your last trait (or traits if you play with mods that allow more than three traits).

Property: Move your Sim into a small home you can afford with the starting 20 000 Simoleons. The house should have a rather big property, as you'll need a lot of space for planting and uh.... other stuff. If you cannot find such a home, you may use the FreeRealEstate cheat, although you'll need to set your household funds to 3000 Simoleons afterwards (Cheat: money 3000).

Game options: If you want an easier challenge, set Sim lifespan to Normal. For the regular challenge it should be set to Short. Auto-age must be enabled.

You may not take a job. As long as you're a teen, I recommend skipping school - your grades won't matter anyway and you'll need the time. The only way to make money is by selling plants, fish or whatever you find by searching the area (minerals, fossils, frogs,...). You may not sell handmade items, books, paintings or photographs, although you are allowed to create them for your own use.

Apart from making money you'll need to raise your greatest weapon - the Cow Plant. The seed(s) may not be bought or taken from another Sim. You may have as many Cow Plants as you want, using them to gain the Essence of Life from other Sims in order to stay young forever. But here's the catch: No one would just randomly walk up to a dangerously looking plant belonging to a complete stranger, especially when they've been warned about said stranger their whole life. You'll need to earn their trust.

To make it short: In order for your Cow Plant to eat a Sim they need to be part of your household. You'll have to manually ask them to join - cheats aren't allowed. For a more difficult version your victim has to be your boyfriend/girlfriend before moving in with you. Alternatively, being friends with them is enough. As soon as they're part of your household you can take control of them and let them... Try to eat a plant's tongue? Honestly, who'd ever think eating something still attached to the mouth of a huge, sentient plant with dangerously looking teeth was a good idea? Anyway, the first time they are eaten apparently isn't enough reason to stay far away from the Cow Plant. The second time, chances are they'll die. Too bad!

After the Grim Reaper has done his work you may milk your Cow Plant. Voilà! You have a brand new glass of Life Essence to keep you young for a couple of days and a tombstone to prove it. Good thing you have your garden to hide the remains of your victim... Place the tombstone somewhere on your property and build your very own graveyard. Just don't be surprised to find some angry ghosts roaming your house.

The challenge can end in two ways:

Bad ending: If you age up to adult you officially lost and countless Sims died for nothing. Sorry not sorry.

Good ending: The Grim Reaper isn't impressed easily, but you do seem to put a lot of work into ending lives. As soon as you have ten (or more for a harder challenge) tombstones on your property the Grim Reaper grants you actual immortality as a sign of his respect. If you play with MCCC, flag your Sim as immortal.

Additional rules:

-> You may use cheats to remove any sad moodlets you receive from the death of one of your victims. I mean, that's what you wanted, right?

-> While you can own as many Cow Plants as you like, you're only allowed to harbour one Sim at a time. In order for another Sim to move in you first have to kill the first one.

-> You may take any aspiration after completing the Freelance Botanist one. However, you are not allowed to marry, have children or move out.

-> If you play with packs including occults, you may not be a vampire or ghost (for obvious reasons). Other occults are allowed, but may not use any abilities that influence relationships or grant them a longer life/immortality.

video games i'm loving rn

night in the woods - emotional story game about mental illness and change, and the struggle with dealing with that. you play as mae, a cat who has dropped out of college and returns to her home town, and there is a cast of loveable characters.

omori - tw for depression, anxiety and su1c1de. you play as omori. you are stuck in whitespace, but it is a pixelated story game about mental illness and trauma, and will give you trauma...

life is strange - story game where your choices matter. you play as max, a student at a posh private school who discovers she has the ability to rewind into the past and change her actions. love the characters and its nice to have my choices mean something (that sounds so melodramatic im sorry.)

the last of us part one - a zombie apocolypse game with found family. has some gore and is sad, but is a beautiful story and i luv ellie and joel. sad man is smuggling hyper child across america in a post apocolyptic world with zombies caused by a fungal infection. it just came out for pc.

undertale - not sure how to describe this. has found family i guess and a massive fandom. you play as you, the main character, and you are exploring a world??? and you can choose to be merciful or aggressive in this world. the music is haunting and beautiful, and it seems fun so far.

sally face - horror platformer with found family. you play as sally face, a young boy who has a facial disfigurment and has recently moved bc of the death of his mother. you meet a cast of fun characters and it is a story game, but it is very interactive and scary. i luv sal and larry's relationship and the dialogue feels so real and well developed.

minecraft - a classic cube sandbox game where you are placed into a world and must survive, you can do anythign basically. ive been playing with mods - all the mods 8 rn - and its super fun, it adds a freshness to the game that it has lacked (ive been playing it for 8 years lmao)

hades - a roguelike dungeon crawling combat game. you are the son of hades and are trying to escape the underworld with the help of the gods of olympus. it is combat based, but the story is fun and the game has good music. you are meant to die and repeat your escape attempts, and the game is interesting to learn.

celeste - a pixelated platformer. amazing trans rep and has a storyline i guess but is mainly platforming. i luv madeline and this game has the most amazing soundtrack. the controls are fun and easy to grasp and the fandom is so nice!!

legend of zelda: breath of the wild - a classic. love the open world, but im personally finding it too tricky. i like the game mechanics but my weapon's are constantly breaking and i am dying sm.

sims 4 - i have been playing the new 'growing together' expansion pack and it is so fun! the infants are so cute and it adds a whole layer of childhood. i have been addicted to cc shopping lately, and am playing with a few mods too!

my first username was hallowed-tyrfing, which is legendary sigurd’s weapon, since he was my favourite lord at the time (still love him but miccy takes that spot now lol)

my current username, similar to the previous one, is legendary deirdre’s weapon. this is because i heavily heavily relate to deirdre and she’s one of my favourite fire emblem characters :P

For my name it was a nickname I was giving back in middleschool! One of our teacher had a system where we worked with 'wifi' eachtime we talked in class we lost a bar of the "wifi" (was a weird joke and we never held count on that) All the kids usually joked if they needed 'wifi' , they would borrow mine if they wanted to talk more. (I was incredibly shy in middle school, I only talked to like 3 people at school;^;)

They called me Ms. Wifi because of that. I just thought it would be funny if I put 'miss' instead of 'ms' because of my terrible actual wifi connection I have at home lol.

Hello, I know that I just read your post about no longer doing sims 4 cc, but I did have a request/question if you would be available. I saw your raptor costume for the dogs and thought it was brilliant. I had the idea of something similar, but creating a costume for large dogs to look like the slags from borderlands. I hadn’t seen anyone do something with the pets like you did and I thought you may be the first person to ask on if it were even possible
