I think the only time I’m genuinely like “Fuck Adebisi he is a bad dude” is when he rips of Kenny’s book/stops letting him go to school and when he make Kenny, who he is sexually abusing, make a false report about the guy trying to rescue him accusing him of sexual abuse. Like Kenny seems so sad and ashamed when he’s talking about it I just want to snuggle him and rescue him and feed him soup and get high together.

What is the best prison drama you've seen and who is the best character?
Oz is one of my favorite drama shows. It doesn't get enough attention as one of HBO's first great shows (it started a couple of years before The Sopranos).
It had many great characters, so it's hard to pick one. I would pick either Tobias Beecher (played by Lee Tergesen), who's the closest thing to the protagonist this ensemble show has, or Ryan O'Reilly (Dean Winters)....or Chris Keller (Christopher Meloni) or one of the greatest and most despicable villains on TV, Vern Schillinger (J.K. Simmons). Maybe even another villain, Simon Adebisi (Adewale Akinnoye-Agbaje). The most admirable character, on the other hand, was probably Kareem Said (Eamonn Walker).
However, if you want something a bit less extreme and maybe more realistic (Oz gets very over the top - and while the plotlines are based on things that really happen, there was never a prison in the US where so many extreme things happened, especially over such a short period of time...), you can try the UK drama Time, starring Sean Bean and Stephen Graham.

Love how Busmalis and Said and O’Reily are in the same section. I picture them all saying “cool” in a different tone.

Oz fast food barista AU (as someone who has had 3yrs barista experience). Also their ages can be pretty flexible in this au. Maybe they're college students maybe they're middle aged idk.
Tobias: He's definitely a shift leader and is one of the most responsible employees. Customers like him and he's the person you go to when you need a shift covered. He may not be the fastest barista but he never messes the drinks up.
Busmalis: Random elderly coworker. He's nice but he is SO slow and it stresses everyone out when they see that he's scheduled for a morning rush. Also he spills everything.
Rebadow: Sweet old man customer who orders the same thing every time (black coffee, prefers to pour his own creamer. Also a bagel with butter, prefers to put the butter on himself). Leaves a $1 tip lol.
Chris: Fuck boy employee. Has slept with TOO many coworkers and slips his phone number to like 20 different customers every shift. He's kinda entertaining but otherwise miserable to be around. He isn't particularly good at making drinks and he def doesn't help with cleaning or prep,, but he is unfortunately good at drive thru and making tips.
Ryan: The workplace gossip and devils advocate- you want to know anything about anyone? Ask Ryan. Somehow, he knows everything. He riles people up for fun and pits his coworkers against each other. He spends a lot of the time in the back on his phone, or in the bathroom doings drugs (yes I had a coworker who would do this lol), but sometimes he does work hard; It's very on and off with him. If u work with him for long enough he will tell you about his own relationship troubles. Also he's weirdly obsessed with one customers (gloria).
Miguel: He's fun to work with and is a pretty fast barista, altho he gets in trouble often and has even been fired a few times but somehow they always take him back. Runs to the window whenever there's a dog and makes sure to give them a pup cup. Is the only one who likes cleaning the espresso machine.
Chico: Is best at the food station or as a barista. Sometimes comes to work high but somehow he works better that way. WILL fight customers he does not gaf. Will make shady comments to a customers face if they don't leave a tip. Does not care about milk allergies and rolls his eyes when asked to remake a drink.
Omar: Same as Busmalis where he makes a lot of mistakes😭. Can talk to customers for a long time even if they clearly want to leave and are over the convo. They try to keep him in the back doing prep or the dishes but he loves doing drive thru even though he messes everything up.
Kareem: Shift leader who dreams of becoming manager. WILL call you out if he catches you stealing or sitting around, like if he is on the schedule it will not be a chill shift. He gives good advice sometimes so you would probably like him if he wasn't your annoying snitch coworker lol. He's the only person who makes sure that the bathroom is clean. Is pretty good at making tips.
Kenny: That one random teenager. Probably the laziest employee. He sits on the counter and plays games on his phone, even in front of customers. He's kinda amusing until you remember that he's a misogynist. Constantly threatens to quit but he never does.
Augustus: Okay so since he's in a wheelchair he may have to just stay in one position (I did some googling). Like just drinks or just drive thru since it's pretty cramped behind the counter. He's excellent at taking orders and makes customers laugh. A man who values his breaks. Like he doesn't gaf if the drive thru line has 20 cars, he WILL go sit out back to get some air.
Schillinger: gets paid minimum wage but also thinks that the minimum wage should not be raised. CREEPY. Like you do not want to work a closing shift with him. Will go on racist rants and all you can do is nod. Is a terrible barista and thinks that oat milk is woke.
Mukada: I imagine him as an operations manager type of person? Like he randomly pops into the store to see if everything is going fine. Everyone scrambles when they see his car pull into the lot. Ignores all the dirty jokes that they make. Tries to gently guide everyone to follow the rules but it's hard.
Adebisi: Also a creep that you won't want to work alone with. Do not put this man on drive thru... but he's an alright barista actually. Likes coming up with his own drinks. Has earbuds in when working and no one can get him to take them out.
McManus: Manager who is mad about the fact that he works for a fast food place. Honestly tries to be chill but will lose his shit over the most random things. You can tell him the times that you prefer to work but he will ignore that and schedule you whenever anyways. Does not take shit from customers and will defend his employees against them.
Okay ermm there's prob a lot of other characters that I could do but lolol

Everybody loves Adebisi and like don't get me wrong hes an amazing character hes prolly my #4 favorite on the show but he is raping a teenage boy for the majority of the show, and hes the first person who helps set Toby up for Schillinger
hes cute and badass and has a lot of really great lines but hes no less evil than the aryans like what he does to kenny is as bad as what schillinger does to beecher

One fascinating thing about HBO’s Oz is looking at all the extras and main characters and figuring out their social circles within Em City and reactions to events. And even some throwaway dialogue and facial expressions tell you so much about the characters.
Like, Ryan O’Reily hung out with Beecher, Hill and Rebadow A LOT. He didn’t involve any of them in his schemes, nor did he target them for anything. He didn’t need to be around them for political purposes. He seemed to actually enjoy their company. Beecher and Ryan were pretty friendly for almost the entire series, barring that one episode in Season 4. Every time it showed something bad happening to Beecher, Ryan has a disgusted look on his face and even tried to wake him up when Beecher was sleeping off a hang over in season 2. Adebisi even shielded Ryan from Robson twice during Ryan’s little skirmishes with the Aryans in the kitchen.
Then there’s Timmy Kirk, before he went full on insane with his religious fanaticism. They way he introduces Patrick Keenan to Ryan and keeps throwing glances at him makes it seem like he did this as a favor to Ryan, knowing how he felt about Gloria. Introducing the guy and telling him he was the one who raped Dr. Nathan all but guaranteed Patrick’s death.
Beecher seemed pretty friendly with the Italians even before his deal with Pancamo. He was cheerfully playing basket ball with Zanghi and the others before he was told about his children being kidnapped. Beecher in general appeared to be, if not respected, liked by a number of inmates who weren’t with the Bikers and Aryans.
Bob Rebadow had butted heads and disagreed with Kareem Said in almost every conversation they had together, yet he was horrified when he learned of his death. He was also one of the few people who always treated Beecher well and seemed to care about his well being. Well, as much as he could bring himself to, considering how he’s seen so many prisoners come and go. When Beecher returned after his arms and legs were broken, he actually Rebadow actually touches Hill as if to alert him on his return and even says “hello Tobias”.
Vincent D'Arbouze, the poor lad who was Adebisi’s prag always hung around the Christians, probably seeking solace and comfort in Christianity.
Even someone as lame as Glen Shupe was seen hanging around Liam Meaney, Ryan and Cyril in a number of scenes. Cloutier hung around Beecher and Ryan. Busmalis and Rebadow would occasionally sit down with Fiona and Tony Masters etc.
Man, say what you want about Oz and the writing, but it truly was a unique show in the way it was filmed. Everyone had to be consistent and in character regardless if they were the main focus of the scene or not. They had to time everything right wherever a scene took place and sometimes you’d have so much going on in a single shot/take. It’s amazing. No show has done it since, at least to my knowledge.
