Tinha certeza de que seria prazeroso discutir com a mulher e que, em seguida, acabaria sendo doloroso, o passado divertido com Sigrid se misturando ao presente incerto. Alguma coisa em sua mente tentava ativar o alerta de que algo estava errado, mas agia impulsivamente, quase desejoso. A irritação parecia estar um pouco além do necessário. "É só um vestido. Se estiver incomodada, te ajudo a tirar e depois te dou outro." Rebateu na intenção de deixá-la desconfortável contra a ansiedade que crescia por aquela possibilidade ser uma real. Um flashback lutava para inundar sua mente para lembrá-lo de onde havia vivido tudo aquilo antes — no meio de uma bagunça de changelings, vendo Sigrid agindo de forma tão mimada que havia despertado seu interesse até conseguir o que queria: cativá-la de alguma forma —, mas absolutamente nada conseguiu se sobrepor. "Isso está parecendo um pouco pessoal demais. Sai com muitos homens que te deixam de lado para chegarem ao ponto de exalar álcool pela pele?" Provocou, a curiosidade crescendo quase enciumada, como se fosse desgostar da resposta, qualquer que fosse, e ainda assim agradado por estar tentando atingir um íntimo que mal conhecia. Era quase como uma amiga antiga, mas não conseguia racicionar sobre. Ao menos se contentou com a resposta silenciosa de que ela havia decidido ficar ao invés de lhe dar as costas.

"Ótimo. Já estou ficando sem criatividade." Respondeu sobre a bebida, percebendo algo no modo em que ela falava. Parecia haver um fundo de nostalgia e dor que ele conhecia, sendo impedido de chegar a uma conclusão clara. Se lembrava de tavernas e do gosto doce, além do perfume de rosas penetrante que ficava grudado em suas roupas. Quase chegava ao rosto de Sigrid, contudo, bastava olhar para os olhos verdes brilhantes escondidos sob a máscara e não havia mais nada. Não conseguia não se frustrar com a sensação horrível de ter tido algo particular tomado de si, bloqueando que controlasse melhor as emoções. A expressão engraçada que a outra fez ao beber o atingiu com força daquela vez, revivendo um passado triste que o fez desviar o olhar para a pista de dança, pouco iluminada naquele momento para acompanhar a música mais agitada, exigindo poucos passos perfeitos. Quando se deparou com careta que tentava passar despercebida, notou o quano era similar a uma que vira tantas vezes e achava tão charmosa como agora, diferenciando o fato de estar em uma desconhecida. Teve vontade de rir e por isso deu outro gole, se incomodando com as notas doces da bebida que camuflavam muito bem o uísque. "Sim, popular. Você nunca esteve em muitos lugares além dos reservados para a nobreza, não é?" Deduziu rapidamente. Todos os sinais indicavam que era uma perfeita khajol e aquilo apenas o atiçava mais. Seus amigos tinham razão quando o zombavam a respeito das mulheres daquela linhagem, tão impossíveis de alcançar e ainda o atraindo veemente. Acentuou o olhar conforme ela se aproximou, permitindo a quebra entre o espaço, quase ansiando por aquilo. Os lábios franziram-se para baixo. "Não, só quando meu bom gosto é adivinhado por alguém." Deu uma piscada na direção dela, apenas brincando com a petulância alheia no início do encontro entre eles. Alguma coisa estalou em sua cabeça e tratou logo de se redimir pelo drink empurrado. "Se não quiser tomar, é só deixar o copo em alguma mesa. Alguém vai recolher. Ou beber." Cochichou como se fosse um segredo importante, não querendo irritá-la mais uma vez.

Respirou fundo uma vez e molhou os lábios para responder, mas parou no meio do caminho quando o aroma melado foi substituído pelo floral, o deixando enjoado. Não era nada ruim, mas o lembrou do quarto repleto de plantas e flores, com um armário cheio de frasquinhos por todos os cantos internos. Ficou desconfiado por alguns instantes antes de respondê-la no mesmo tom, percebendo que a encarava por tempo demais, perdido nos detalhes do rosto esculpido e carrancudo. Bonito demais. "Not really. Sempre bebi para agradar, mas nunca é minha primeira opção." E era verdade já que era o que Sigrid mais tolerava quando fugiam para pular de taverna em taverna até o dia ameaçar amanhecer.

A irritação subiu pelo peito enquanto sentia a pele esquentar, um pouco brava pela insolência do homem. Ele havia ajudado, mas não exatamente. Sigrid não se sentia ajudada, tampouco como uma dama que precisava de auxílio. Na verdade, a língua ainda ansiava por chicotear grosserias contra aquele que havia atentado quanto a elegância de suas vestes. Ou com aquele homem que havia surgido também, o dono de uma vez e postura familiares que apertava o estômago da khajol e fazia seu coração saltar. A sensação não era estranha, mas ainda não sabia nomear, tampouco identificar o causador do sentimento... como tudo e todos, apesar do conhecimento brincar na ponta da língua, Sigrid não conseguiu colocá-lo para fora, precisando contentar-se com a ignorância por pelo menos uma noite. "Os que não sabem se portar decentemente são os que mais precisam de rondas." Resmungou, percebendo pelas palavras dele de que deveria ser alguma figura de autoridade. Novamente a onda de familiaridade a abateu, quase a sufocando, mas conseguiu disfarçar o suficiente para fazer mais comentários ácidos. "Você parece exatamente o tipo que precisa de uma babá, mas não estou afim de bancar o posto. Se ficar bêbado, vai se virar sozinho. Não quero estar por perto quando causar um escândalo." Avisou ao acompanhá-lo pelo bar, a satisfação crescendo em seu interior. A despeito de pouco desejo quanto a possibilidade de se tornar uma possível babá de bêbado, estava feliz por estar ali. Com ele. Seu cérebro poderia não reconhecer a figura, mas o corpo certamente reagia a presença dele e ficava feliz.

Os olhos verdes acompanharam a bebida chegar, experimentando o desafio inundar suas intenções por conta das palavras dele. 'Vai querer ou posso procurar outra companhia?' Poderia não conhecê-lo, mas o gosto amargo na boca denunciou que não queria que ele procurasse outra companhia. Portanto ficou um pouco a contragosto, olhando em qualquer outra direção que não fosse o homem, apenas um pouco irritada, um pouco mais emburrada. No entanto, quando a bebida chegou, o cheiro trouxe recordações que relaxaram a expressão e partiram o coração de Sigrid na mesma intensidade. Conseguia reconhecer aquilo, pelo menos. E a saudade de Cillian atingiu o âmago, quebrando a essência da alma em vários pedacinhos. "Eu conheço isso, já tomei." A voz era um pouco arrogante, como se quisesse se exibir. Pegou um dos copos pequenos, analisando brevemente o líquido antes de virá-lo em sua boca. E se arrepender imediatamente da decisão. Amargo e um pouco doce ao mesmo tempo, forte e intenso, queimando a garganta e travando a mandíbula. Apesar da sensação e do sabor que fazia com que quisesse retorcer a expressão, Sigrid se manteve firme e séria, ainda que os olhos cintilassem com a garganta em chamas. "Uma delícia." Disse, engolindo em seco, forçando um sorriso, a mentira óbvia. "Não é o tipo de coisa que costumo tomar." Conseguiu falar após se recuperar, engolindo em seco novamente, piscando um pouco mais forte as pálpebras. "É uma bebida..." da classe baixa, pensou em dizer, mas não pegaria bem falar que um drink do baile do imperador era baixo. "É uma bebida popular." Aproveitou a chance então para tentar desvendar um pouco mais do desconhecido, inconscientemente se inclinando um pouco mais na direção dele. Talvez fosse a música alta ou apenas a vontade de estar mais próxima. "Costuma tomar sempre?"

Estar mais perto permitia que observasse melhor os detalhes dele e da roupa. As vestes curas faziam com que se recordasse de Void, o dragão de Cillian, que era tão escuro que parecia consumir toda luz ao redor. Aquele homem parecia reunir tais características: cabelos escuros e olhos escuros também, um conjunto que fazia o coração saltar e o rosto esquentar, dolorosamente perto de reconhecê-lo, mas sem nunca o fazer. Tinha certeza que o conhecia, mas ao mesmo tempo julgava que seria incapaz de esquecer aqueles olhos. "Você gosta disso?" A sentença foi quase um sussurro, um vestígio do gosto da bebida ainda na boca.

Verumlin Flor de revelación

Nombre vulgar: Flor de revelación Nombre científico: Puram veritatem Tipo: Hierba Dificultad: Media

Planta propia de las zonas más húmedas del pantano misterioso que es muy codiciada por sus múltiples usos alquímicos, entre los que destaca la capacidad para mostrar el verdadero aspecto de aquellos que tratan de ocultarse.

ETIMOLOGÍA: Esta curiosa flor fue bautizada en un principio con el nombre de Alba avem por la caprichosa forma de sus pétalos, pero con el paso de los siglos y el descubrimiento de su valor en lo relacionado con el mundo de las pociones y remedios, fue cambiando hasta representar, al menos a ojos de los elfos, la verdadera importancia que poseía.

MORFOLOGÍA: La Verumlin es una planta de tamaño medio que suele crecer en grupos muy concentrados, tiene el tallo delgado y algunas hojas en su base, pero lo que más destaca sin duda son sus flores, cuyos pétalos se abren creando la silueta de una paloma blanca con las alas extendidas, detalle por el cual suele llamar la atención de cuantos la encuentran en su camino.

DEBILIDADES Propia de un clima húmedo y fresco, la Verumlin no soporta las altas temperaturas ni las sequías, de ahí que rara vez se dé fuera del pantano u otras zonas con unas condiciones semejantes.

DISTRIBUCIÓN Y HÁBITAT Crecen en la parte más profunda del pantano misterioso, normalmente a la orilla de los lagos, de cuya humedad se aprovechan para proliferar y expandirse rápidamente por la zona.

REPRODUCCIÓN Y CICLO VITAL Durante el otoño, la Verumlin pierde sus flores y deja caer las semillas al suelo, éstas terminan germinando gracias a las lluvias del invierno o son transportadas por los animales del bosque a otras zonas, en que si se dan los parámetros adecuados, brotan creando un nuevo conjunto.

CULTIVO A pesar de su valor, este espécimen solo crece en la naturaleza, los intentos por cultivarlo en otros lugares han fracasado, obligando a los alquimistas a respetar su espacio y recolectarlo de manera responsable para que no se agote.

USO PARA PROFESIONES Una infusión de sus pétalos y parte de la raíz es suficiente para revertir ciertas pociones y conjuros, aquellos que afectan a la apariencia de quien los recibe, ya sea voluntaria o involuntariamente.

MITOS Y LEYENDAS Cuenta la leyenda que una famosa bruja de las islas, llamada Igritte, fue víctima de la envidia de su hermana pequeña Sigrid, quien harta de estar a la sombra de la primogénita de su familia, no solo en belleza sino también en habilidades mágicas, lanzó un conjuro a Igritte para que nadie pudiese volver a mirarla a la cara, arrebatándole su juventud y condenándola a vivir el resto de su vida con la apariencia de una enfermiza anciana.

Avergonzada por su situación, Igritte abandonó su hogar y se refugió en los bosques de Verisar, creyendo que allí nadie la vería, pero se equivocaba.

Una mañana, un joven elfo se topó con ella mientras cazaba, pero al verla huir no hizo nada, prosiguió su camino y éste lo llevó a terminar herido tras un enfrentamiento con una manada de scrunts. Pidió ayuda, y sin poder negársela, la hechicera acudió en su auxilio, sanando al muchacho y ganándose su gratitud con ello, agradecimiento que quiso demostrarle invitándola al asentamiento en que vivía.

Después de mucho tiempo vagando sola por el mundo, la joven dejó a un lado sus reparos y accedió a acompañar al cazador, que sin perder tiempo la presentó al sabio que lideraba a aquellos elfos. El anciano preguntó a la mujer qué podían hacer por ella para devolverle el favor, a lo que ella contestó revelándoles la historia de la traición de su hermana y el conjuro que le había echado, con la vaga esperanza de que pudiesen hacer algo al respecto.

El sabio consultó sus libros y no tardó en dar con la respuesta que necesitaban, acudió al bosque y recolectó algo de Verumlin, con la cual elaboró una poción lo suficientemente potente como para desvanecer los efectos de la magia de Sigrid.

Libre de aquel mal, Igritte se despidió de aquellos hombres, quedando en deuda con ellos para siempre, y regresó a su hogar, donde tras mucho tiempo pudo plantar cara a su hermana y acusarla frente a todos por lo que le había hecho. Sigrid fue condenada e Igritte recuperó poco a poco su vida anterior, convirtiéndose en una de las hechiceras más prometedoras del Hekshold.
