Anyone watching Sight Unseen?

Is anyone watching Sight Unseen? It has some great subtext potential.

Tess (Dolly Lewis) is a cop who has to leave her job when she loses her vision, but can't resist trying to solve her last case with the help of Sunny (Agam Darshi), a New York based shut-in that she is paired with as her eyes by an assistance app.

Sunny lives in a large, airy apartment and is usually eating, drinking or sorting her closet out while Tess illegally enters shady premsies to try and solve her crime. Apparently it's Sunny-er in NYC than it is in Toronto - some visual punning going on here.

Tess does give a slight Emily Prentiss vibe and she's got that woman alone, no talking about feelings vibe that we expect from TV cops.

You can see the possibilities in this - there's the whole odd couple, need to work together thing. Sunny is present for all sorts of personal and difficult moments for Tess, meanwhile Sunny's agoraphobia obviously stems from past violence that Tess doesn't yet know about. And they will have to save each other. Episode two and they're already sharing sad backstory.

Sexuality-wise Tess has a male ex-work partner hanging around and we see her have a one night stand with a guy in the first episode. Sunny has an estranged husband, seemingly because of her agoraphobia. I can work with both these for subtext, which is just as well because three episodes in I don't think we are going to get anything intentionally queer from this show.

I know one of the writers has used her struggles with vision loss to inform the story. I'm presuming the actor playing the main character can see, but Mia, a assistance worker tasked with helping a reluctant Tess adjust to her new disability, is played by Alice Christina-Corrigan who is visually impaired.

Watching a new blind cop drama in Canada called Sight Unseen. It deserves more people watching it. CTV hasn't done enough promotion with it. Wouldn't have known about it if my mom hadn't discovered it while browsing CTV.

Daniel Gillies of The Vampire Diaries is in it as a cop.

I'm enjoying all these new canadian shows. They're quite different, it is refreshing.They're mostly short-lived, which is a plus because the chance of getting bored or recycling stories are slim. One of my favourite shows of all times is "Flashpoint" , I really hope for a reboot.

1. Skymed

" The North challenges people Crys. Makes them grow. And it's not always pleasant, but you gotta give them the room to do that growing."

- The pilots are barely represented. I love small town shows. Even if my favourite character is coupled with my most hated character. And the cheating in this show is something else like a constant plot. But friendships are amazing.

2. Sight unseen

" Think of this as a chance to explore a new world. There are so many ways to navigate, but first, you need to understand the basics."

- It's the first show I watch with visual impairment being prominent. It's nice casting two actresses have their own experience with it, showing it's not just fiction. And Sunny's plot is integrated.

3. Wild cards

"We are like Bones and that dude from buffy, Castle and that hot girl."

- I miss these kind of shows.

4. Transplant (4 seasons)

"All of that to make yourself feel better about ruining the one good thing you had going on here"

- The show name being represented through the group literally and figuratively was a beautiful concept. And for once, romance isn't the main plot.

these are moments i wish i was a theorist! sunny fascinates me because shes obviously traumatized and i love traumatized characters (because im traumatized too) and i love seeing if theyre handled well or not. so far i think shes handled pretty well, but i AM wondering what this moment is about!

these are the highest quality screenshots i can manage to get, but theyre still not as great as i hoped. i just thought id try and put them up for anyone else who was wondering or for anyone who can decipher them and what this might be about!

i know we'll get answer eventually of course but aughhh im impatient and so interested in this character

The CW really likes it's Canadian partners, lol! It's probably smart of them to share the costs while they're trying to build a profitable network without CBS and the WB.

I saw someone in the comments mention them being more procedurals and that television has enough of those. I can agree, but also, procedurals get the most viewers, so it makes sense to aim for that demographic.
