TellyCafe: Barun Sobti's frantic but endearing b'day [27 August 2010]
Barun Sobti a.k.a Shravan of "Baat Hamari Pakki Hai" turned one year older on 21st of August. When TellyCafe contacted him, he was quite excited to inform us about his birthday as on his birthday we tried calling him but, he was quite busy and could not receive our call. But clearing the reality Barun says, "I was totally packed on Saturday as I was shooting till 3:00 am and as it was my birthday, I just rushed at my place, took shower and was back again at 7:00am to shoot which continued till evening." Adding to it, he further says, "So I was left with no time to receive any one's wishes. Again in the evening, I had planned to go out with my friends. So I just completed my work and left early on the day without wasting time." It seems it was damn hectic birthday for you Barun. Along with his friends he also celebrated his special day with the whole unit of 'Baat Hamari'... "On Friday night, I cut the cake on the set and the most special thing was when I personally gave the cake to the entire unit members myself. That was the moment which was very endearing for me," adds Barun. So what all gifts did you receive on your birthday? "Well, that was something funny as I am a movie buff, all my friends ended up giving me CDs of various movies. But gifts are really not important because I think being together on such special events is something called a real gift." Sobti informed us with full gratitude. But when asked for his wish list, he says, "I don't want to wish anything but just want to say that God should keep us going without any hurdles." Well! All we can say here is Belated Happy Birthday Barun.

India Forums: Sets of Baat Hamari Pakki Hai has a Special Guest.. [13 August 2010]
SET India’s Business Head Ajit Thakur visits sets of Tony and Deeya Singh’s ‘Baat Hamari Pakki Hai’ DJ Creative earns distinction of being the first production house to receive channel’s Business Head on the sets of its new show
Veteran TV serial production house, DJ's Creative fronted by the acclaimed producer Jodi of Tony and Deeya Singh had a surprise visitor on the sets of "Baat Hamari Pakki Hai" shown on Sony Entertainment Television. In a first-of-its-kind incident Ajit Thakur, Business Head – Sony Entertainment Television, visited the sets of Tony and Deeya Singh's much-talked about show to boost the morale of the cast and crew who had been shooting non-stop. It's rare for a channel's head honcho to visit the sets of a new show but Ajit Thakur charted a new course simply because of the exemplary production values exhibited by producers Tony and Deeya Singh in making the show an outstanding success.     The half-hour show by the creative duo of Tony and Deeya Singh, who earlier made shows like "Banegi Apni Baat "and "Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin" tries to focus on how marriages are made in heaven and that God will show you the signs that will lead you to your perfect match. The masters of the casting coup, Tony and Deeya Singh have chosen dedicated stars such as Barun Sobti, Ankita, Sai Deodhar, Himani Shivpuri, Vivek Mushran, Mona Ambegaonkar, Aditi Shriwaikar and Mihika Verma amongst others, who shot for hours continuously in order to keep pace with the hectic deadlines and schedules of telecast. In fact, Ajit Thakur interacted with the cast and crew including spot boys. A party atmosphere prevailed during the entire set and several photographs were clicked.   Producer Tony Singh of DJ's Creative said, "Sony Entertainment Television's Business Head Ajit Thakur's visit to the sets of 'Baat Hamari Pakki Hai' is a first-of-its-kind milestone and it speaks volumes about the success and significance of this show for the channel. As producers, we have always upheld the highest possible standards and production values in order to deliver compelling content to viewers. It's good that the channel appreciated the dedication and efforts made by the entire cast and crew who shot nonstop to meet deadlines."    Producer Deeya Singh of DJ's Creative added, "The show 'Baat Hamari Pakki Hai' coinciding with the wedding season in India, has endeared itself to the viewers. The unprecedented visit of SET India's Business Head Ajit Thakur shows that the channel is quite bullish on the ground-breaking plot's ability to resonate with Indian family audiences. We have a longstanding relationship with Sony TV and this visit has cemented our bond and brought our artistes closer to the channels."

TellyCafe: “I Thank Those Intelligent People for Watching Me” - Barun Sobti [3 August 2010]
Barun Sobti is the name who got recognition and popularity after portraying the character Shravan in Sony TV's 'Baat Hamari Pakki Hai'. The guy has reached a point where he has a good fan following. On popular demand TellyCafe has brought his exclusive interview where he shares his views about acting, stardom, hard work, and fans.
How is Barun in real life different from Shravan?
Barun is responsible, hardworking guy; he is pretty much focused and not confused. As I have worked in this industry I know how to manage things over here. I love to be happy and can be irresponsible sometimes. Not irresponsible actually but lazy. And what to say about Shravan, audience knows much better than me. Everyone knows how he is. Right!
How is the experience of essaying Shravan?
It's fantastic. The way the character has been conceived and written is just amazing. I love the way the character has evolved. The way he reacts in every situation is incredible. I think that is why the audience likes him so much. Viewers basically like the on-screen role which is essayed by the actor. They like the chemistry and the way actors are presented through their characters.
Viewers often say that Saachi (Ankita Sharma) of the show does not match up to you. What is your take on it?
Ankita is a fantastic actor and good looking too. The way she has essayed the role of Saachi is just outstanding. She has done true justice to the role. Beyond that I can't say anything because I think we are in no way different in our acting and performing skills. It may be the perception of the audience that they don't see us at par with each other.
Your character gets lots of sympathy from the audience. What do you have to say to it?
Shravan is the hero of the show and that's why he gets sympathy and support of the audience. I accept their sympathy as I think that my acting has impressed them and they are giving me their response. Whatever is the response of the audience to my acting - sympathy, anger, rudeness or anything else - I accept it completely.
Any crazy incidence you came across with a fan?
I hardly get time to go out and meet people but once I came across such an incident. I was busy shooting for a show. A fan named Tara came to meet me and I gave her my executive production man's number so that if necessary she could contact me. But she irked the production personnel with her incessant calls and request to speak with me. I was really very busy with my shoot and could not take up any of her calls. That was the only incident which I have come across so far.
How do you take your stardom?
I don't think I am a star till now. I stay away from the word stardom and believe that I am a normal person. I have learned from my parents to be down to earth. I have to go a long way from where I am now.
How was working with 'Baat Hamari Pakki...' team?
It is great to be with the team. I would like to share an incident about the team. Once my friend named Vishal from Delhi had come down to Mumbai at my place. That time I was very busy with the shooting and couldn't give him company. I asked him to visit the set once. He came and got along very well with my co-actors. And while returning, he was not in the mood to leave the set. So from this incident you can make out how great it is to work with the 'Baat Hamari...' team.
Do you find any difficulty while shooting or anything related to the show?
No such difficulty yet. However, sometimes we have to shoot for long hours at a stretch that affects the health. We sometimes work for 22 hours at a stretch. The schedule can extend to even 30 hours for some special episodes.
Your message for your fans!
I don't believe in the term 'fans'. According to me they are very sensible people and I would like to thank those intelligent people for watching me. Thank you very much.
