Mere Sai - A Surreal Experience

Today I want to write a little about the serial, “Mere Sai” that was playing on Sony TV. I have been watching the serial regularly either on Sony TV when I am at home at the same time the serial plays or alternatively on the Sony Liv website, on days that I have missed watching it on television. The serial takes you through events that occurred when Baba was alive and the impact that Baba had on the lives of Shirdivaasi’s. Irrespective of one’s lineage, everyone was the same for Sai Baba. While watching the serial one gets so absorbed in Baba’s character, I actually start getting goose-bumps. There have been so many moments where I have actually lived through events depicted in the serial brimming with emotion on how Baba showered His blessings on all those who came to Him for help. Sai Baba selflessly devoted Himself to Shirdi and how lucky and blessed were all those who came in touch with Him. No one ever went empty handed. The very mud that came in contact with His feet was so blessed that seeing it would remove one from all grief/sorrow and give a divine experience. He collected foodgrains from the village every day and cooked food for the villagers and served them with so much love. What more can a Bhakt ask for? Being served by Sai Baba Himself!!!! Such was His cosmic presence that Baba knew exactly what is happening with His Bhakts at each moment of their lives and a mere thought/remembrance of Baba in the Bhakt’s mind and heart, relieved him/her of any agony the very same moment. Baba made everyone realize the importance of doing good deeds….What you sow you shall reap is a message that He constantly talks about which is so important in today’s age and will always be a message for the whole Humanity. Baba was the orchestrator of many events in the lives of His Bhakt’s and no one ever knew what was going on in Baba’s mind. Over a period of time, people who were very close to Him knew that whatever Baba said was always for someone’s good and with a purpose. So fortunate were those people who saw him, spoke to him, did Bhajan’s with him and got a chance to be with Him in whichever way or form. Everyone who came to Dwarka Mai never went back empty handed…." Dhanya" were all of them.

Coming back to the cast of the serial, Abeer Soofi did doing a terrific job of playing Baba’s character. The background music is top notch and mixed so well with the themes that it taps into the viewers psyche and one gets transported to Shirdi seamlessly. All the characters have been selected to play the role after much research and it feels like they were destined to be a part of this journey. I believe it is Baba’s blessings because of which they have been fortunate to get those roles and we as viewers are extremely fortunate to be blessed by Baba to live through this experience.
