SHINZO ABE  (1954-Died July 8th 2022,at 67.Assassinated by gunshot), Japanese politician who served as Prime Minister of Japan and President of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) from 2006 to 2007 and again from 2012 to 2020. He is the longest-serving prime minister in Japanese history. Abe also served as Chief Cabinet Secretary from 2005 to 2006 under Junichiro Koizumi and was briefly the opposition leader in 2012. On 8 July 2022, Abe was shot by a former member of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force while delivering a campaign speech in Nara two days before the 10 July upper house elections; he was later pronounced dead in hospital. The suspect, who was arrested at the scene, confessed to targeting Abe because of the latter's ties with the Unification Church. Original Target of Yamagami: Hak Ja Han

It’s come out in the news in Japan that Tetsuya Yamagami planned to attack  Hak Ja Han when she visited Japan in 2019.

Han’s October 2019 visit was prompted by the Universal Peace Federation convocation, where she stressed South Korea-Japan unity to 40,000 people. During her convocation speech Han stated, “I believe that Korea and Japan share a common ancestry,” adding that all Pacific rim nations should “unite as one for the sake of peace.”

It’s being reported that during this trip he attempted to attend a members-only event where Han was present, but his efforts were thwarted, as he was not a member. 

He later was planning to travel to Korea to attack Han but COVID-19 border restrictions once again stopped him.
