Was that Goto reading her notes in tears.... and he was surrounded by swarm of fireflies. It's Satoko's letter talking about how she loved him so I think it's him reading her letter and not seeing her there with him means she must've passed away from her illness early on.

And that place looks familiar:

" We'll look at fireflies everyday once we get out of here"

And even the title saying "Firefly Wedding"
