"Blue moon of Cantessy, keep on shinin'~♪ ...Oh! Sorry, I got wrapped up in the song. Anyway, wecome! I'm Kusaoi, and as you can probably tell I'm a Grass-type specialist. It kind of fits with the music I like, and honestly I really just love the nature around here. It's a little like my old home, but very different in a refreshing way. Oh, speaking of refreshing, we should probably get to that battle, yes?"

Here's Pokemon Plow's second Gym Leader! Fun little fact, did you know Japan has a Bluegrass scene? I remembered that from an episode of a local channel's culture show, so that's what inspired the direction I went with this one.

In Plow Version's Rosin Falls Gym, you'll face off against the grass-type specialist Kusaoi. An immigrant from Johto, Kusaoi has had a love of Bluegrass music ever since they first heard a local group play. Unfortunately their parents weren't the biggest fan of Bluegrass music themselves, nor respecting their gender identity and other things. So for a myriad of reasons that include that, they moved to Cantessy, specifically the town where many famous Bluegrass musicians got their start. And they just happened to find a regional Oddish hanging out around their new house the very day they finally moved in, how convenient :D Anyway, if you're going to fight them, you're obviously going to need to get to them first. You'll have to navigate walls of vines in the shape of a musical staff and notes, somewhat similar to Coumarine City's gym in X and Y, and at the end Kusaoi will be waiting for you.

Kusaoi may be a grass-type specialist, but they do have a little bit of variety in their team to keep you on your toes a bit, unless you chose Calflame in which case you might just steamroll them. They have a Pipkern at level 21 that already knows a few fire-type moves to deal with bugs, a Snover at level 23 to deal with flying-types, and finally their Blossimer at level 25 who they'll join in with for Union Battle. After becoming Champion, you can rematch Kusaoi with a higher-leveled full team of six: Bellossom, Leafeon, Flapple, Pepkornel, Abomasnow, and Blossimer.

(and yes, I know their name is just a clumsy smushing of the Japanese words for "grass" and "blue", but I unfortunately couldn't figure out a good pre-existing name for them that fit the naming themes I was using, and as it's definitely not their birth name I'm going to make that their in-universe reason for choosing that name hehe)
