Artwork I commissioned from @rainbow-zebra-art of my Sabezra fankids, Brycan and Mazal Wren-Bridger! Thank you so much for this, RZ!
As a reminder for anyone interested, these two exist in my personal Star Wars AU, which is a hybrid of the Legends EU, Disney Canon, and other SW properties I want to squeeze in. I'll put some more specific stuff about them under the cut.
BRYCAN WREN-BRIDGER
Brycan was born on Krownest in 10 ABY, growing up in the immediate aftermath of the Thrawn Campaign. He grows up as a close friend of Jacen, Jaina and Anakin Solo, while also being super close to his "uncles" Kanan and Zeb and "aunts" Hera and Ketsu. Brycan is a kind and friendly boy who nontheless has a sarcastic streak rivaling his parents, and his passion for athletics and martial arts serves him well in his Mandalorian upbringing and Jedi training. Unsurprisingly, Brycan still grows up with a good deal of pressure, what with being descended from two cultural factions known for conflict with each other and being the child of two prominent war heroes. Determined to live up to his heritage while also stepping out of his parents' shadows, Brycan becomes a passionate Mandalorian warrior before enrolling in Luke Skywalker's Jedi Paraxeum on Yavin 4 at age 14. He does struggle to reconcile the contradictory aspects of the Mandalorians and the Jedi, but he does eventually learn to form a good balance with the help of his parents and Din Djarin.
The Yuuzhan Vong War puts Brycan though the biggest wringer yet, as the horrors of war cost him multiple friends and his mother is grievously wounded shortly after giving birth to his sister Mazal. He is roped into a faction of more militant Mandalorian crusaders who encourage him to give into his passions and pain, leading to a tense conflict with his father and a personal vendetta with the Vong commander Nas Choka. However, Ezra manages to save his son from falling down the dark path, and he rejects the hollow promises of revenge. He finally comes into his own as a Jedi Knight by wars' end, priding himself as a credit to his forebearers as a true Mandalorian Jedi.
Other notes:
-Brycan built his lightsaber in imitation of designs favored during the High Republic, featuring a physical crossguard below the emitter. Reflecting his mixture of Jedi and Mandalorian tradition, the crossguard is composed of solid beskar while his kyber crystal is an Adegan sapphire.
-Brycan is one of the most accomplished lightsaber duelists of his generation, mastering both the Shien and Djem-So sides of Form V as well as boasting a comprehensive academic understanding of numerous martial arts from across the galaxy. Thouhg he favors his lightsaber, he always wears a Mandalorian vambrace wherever he goes, loaded with a Dur-24 wrist laser, a fibercord whip, a portable energy shield, and whistling birds.
-Brycan's strength in the Force is easily comparable to his dad, though he appropriately focuses on the more physical aspects of his power. He's not as advanced a telepath as Ezra, but he compensates by being an awesome telekinetic and taking up a special interest in energy diffusion.
-While not as vibrant as his mom, he still inherited Sabine's artistic skill, particularly as a sketch artist. He can produce a nearly flawless rendering of someone in a heartbeat and has a talent for hand-drawn maps and starcharts. He occasionally cooks up new designs for his mom to try out.
-His best friend is Han and Leia's daughter Jaina, both of their natural fighting instincts feeding their desire to test and improve themselves. Sparring together is their favorite pastime, where they have traded wins and losses over the years.
-While a combat-oriented Jedi raised as a Mandalorian does raise some immediate assumptions, Brycan's passion for fighting is not as a blood sport. He sees it as a way of expression of his spirit, and he puts it to use for the good of others. He lives by the Form V maxim of "peace through superior firepower", wielding his skill to strike out at injustice and protect the innocent, not to flaunt his power. He doesn't go looking to pick a fight, but if fighting needs to be done, he is razor-keen and committed.
-Teenage rebellion and war trauma aside, he loves his parents more than anything in the world and adores his younger sister Mazal.
-Despite lacking Ezra's strong affinity for animals, Brycan does owns a Loth-wolf he rescued as a cub named Beskad (the mando'a word for "sword"). The two are nearly inseparable, though his efforts to mold Beskad into an oversized hunting dog have had minimal success.
MAZAL WREN-BRIDGER
Mazal was born on Mandalore in 26 ABY during the height of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion. Growing up in the shadow of the conflict, Mazal resolved to do her part to help put the galaxy back together after being nearly ripped apart. Like her older brother, Mazal initially wanted to become a powerful Mandalorian Jedi warrior, joining in the battles and adventures. However, this was shattered when she went on her first serious combat mission, helping in an effort to subdue a combine of pirates seeking to exploit the post-war chaos on Carlac. The mission ended in a horrific disaster, with the strike team being decimated in an ambush and narrowly escaping back to GA space. Traumatized by her experiences, Mazal found her previous passion lost, even considering turning in her lightsaber and throwing out her armor so as to never be stained by that violence again. Fortunately, Mazal received much-needed counseling from both Jedi Healers and more mundane therapists, and Sabine helped her daughter rediscover her calling. Feeling that the galaxy needed healing hands far more than warriors, Mazal was drawn to the ideals of the late Duchess Satine Kryze, seeing the value of promoting peace over the use of force. Taking up the path of a Jedi Healer and joining the reformed Mandalorian Protectors, Mazal channeled her passion into humanitarian aid, traveling the galaxy to help pick up the pieces of disaster and conflict. In a way, she does manage to become just as much of a Mandalorian Jedi as Brycan, albeit one dedicated to the higher calling of the Force and the more grounded tenents of the Resol'nare.
Other notes:
-"Mazal" is a Hebrew name meaning "good fortune". I chose this to fit a naming theme with her father Ezra as well as to reflect the safety of her birth given Sabine's injuries soon afterward.
-Despite no longer being a dedicated fighter, Mazal still keeps up on her training. She may not like fighting, but if the people she's helping need a lightsaber to protect them or Mandalorian armor to shield them, she won't hesitate to use it.
-Powerful in her own right, Mazal's Force abilities manifest strongest in her advanced skill in the healing arts, directly studying under Master Cilghal at the Jedi Academy. She also shares her father's sense-based aptitude, focusing on life-detection and projective telepathy to aid in her relief work.
-Unlike Brycan, Mazal is just as much of an artist as Sabine, constantly redecorating her room with new paintings and sketches. Her hair is her most common canvas, rarely going a month with the same dye job.
-Mazal is a self-professed daddy's girl; not even the Force can get Ezra to say no to her. At the same time, possibly as a result of having come so close to losing her and her mother, Ezra is almost overprotective of her, and was beside himself when she came home shell-shocked from Carlac. Sabine grows closer to her during her recovery period, and their time painting together played a big part in getting her back on her feet.
-She gets along well with Ben Skywalker, both being close to each other during their training. Outside of her family, Ben's the one she can confide in the most.
-Mazal is bi and dates Zay Versio as a teenager.
Feel free to ask me more about these two!

Also here's the thing about Taylor Swift calling herself "goth punk". There is literally nothing stoping her from listening to a bunch of goth and punk music for inspiration and making a genre and aesthetic switch. None of us would listen to it and we'd all bully her for it but she's very rich she doesn't have to notice us doing that. But instead of putting on corpse paint she's putting on clown makeup and walking out here like "Better Than Revenge had an electric guitar in it so basically I'm super edgy." And then the egirl Swifties wonder why we gatekeep. It's because the scene is a rich subculture with audacious fashion and experimental music which pushes boundaries and y'all want to demean it until it means a girl in shien leggings who listens to Paramore but only Still Into You and Ain't It Fun. I know the same bitches who are drawing little black hearts on their cheeks and getting mad about us gatekeeping against people who have never even heard a Siouxie song are the same people who threw eraser bits into my hair in middle school when I had it teased up and bullied me for wearing a choker I made out of a belt. You want to be cool and jaded like us but you don't want to actually be cringey enough to dress like and listen to the same music as the freak tranny you went to school with who wore socks on his arms and safety pins in his ears, well guess what that's what goth and emo and punk is. When you're the outcast, and you've been singled out your whole life, dressing scary and listening to loud music and getting angry and using the aesthetics of pain and death become a way to take your power back. They can't accept and embrace that weirdo outsider element and that's why they'll never be genuine. They don't care about that shit they just want to be someone's goth gf.

How I Think Certain DuckTales (2017) Characters Would Wield A Lightsaber
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok. Here I’ll be going over how I think certain DuckTales (2017) characters would wield a lightsaber in a fight if they were lightsaber duelists. This post was partly inspired by @writebackatya’s If You Could Give Any DuckTales (2017) Character A Gun Which One Would You Give It To post and credit also goes to @boingodigitalart since I probably couldn’t have found it if he hadn’t reblogged it. The idea of DuckTales (2017) characters wielding guns got me to think about how they might wield lightsabers. I’ll be determining what types of lightsaber fighting styles from the Star Wars mythos they might prefer based on their personalities and the skills they already have. Also, Spoiler Alert for the DuckTales (2017) TV series and the Star Wars franchise. With all that out of the way, let’s dive right in.
Tumblr media
As shown in the episode ‘The First Adventure!’, Scrooge seemed to favor both blocking and attacking in a sword fight. So, if Scrooge were to use a lightsaber, he might try out something like Djem So, a lightsaber combat form that’s, as stated in The Jedi Path book, about both blocking and attacking in a lightsaber-to-lightsaber duel. Scrooge might also practice Shien, a lightsaber combat form which, as stated in the Fightsaber Jedi Lightsaber Combat book, is basically about reflecting blaster bolts back at the opponent since, as shown in the episode ‘Moonvasion! Part 1’, Scrooge seems to have some skills reflecting blaster bolts back at an opponent. Also, given that, as shown in the episode ‘The First Adventure!’, Scrooge uses his cane as a pogo stick, he might use a sabercane in the same way since, as shown in the Star Wars The Clone Wars episode ‘Lightsaber Lost’, a sabercane is basically lightsaber hidden inside a cane.
Tumblr media
As shown in the episode ‘The Golden Lagoon Of White Agony Plains!’, Goldie seems to favor parrying in a melee fight. So, I think that means that Goldie might also try out Djem So if she were to use a lightsaber. After all, as also stated in The Jedi Path book, ripostes are a part of Djem So. Also, Goldie might try out a lightsaber move like Trakata which, as shown in the Star Wars Visions episode ‘The Elder’, is a lightsaber move that involves getting the opponent focused on attacking their adversary’s lightsaber blade before that adversary turns their lightsaber off and then turns it back on as a way to catch their opponent off-guard. After all, as also shown in the episode ‘The Golden Lagoon Of White Agony Plains!’, Goldie is a really skilled thief and con artist who likes to outwit and trick the people around her. Trakata would be pretty risky since turning your lightsaber off mid-combat does run the risk of getting hit by the opponent’s lightsaber as a YouTuber named EckhartsLadder pointed out in their Why didn’t Jedi/Sith TURN OFF THEIR LIGHTSABERS to avoid an opponent’s blade? | Star Wars Lore YouTube video. But, since Goldie is, as I already pointed out, a skilled thief and con artist, and, as shown in the episode ‘The Golden Lagoon Of White Agony Plains!’, seemed to know a thing or 2 about melee combat. I think that she would know just the right time to use Trakata. So, I think that a lightsaber move like Trakata would be fitting for someone like Goldie.
Tumblr media
As shown in the episode ‘Daytrip Of Doom!’, Donald fights with a lot of rage that he allows to guide him and focuses mostly on offense by coming at his opponent with a series of wild movements and, as shown in the episode ‘What Ever Happened To Donald Duck?!’, Donald focuses his rage and uses it to protect his family. So, if he were to use a lightsaber, I think that he would try out a combination between Juyo and Vaapad. After all, as shown in The Force Unleashed novelization, Juyo was a form designed for offense and was described as a vicious form of lightsaber combat that is filled with fury and, as shown in the Revenge Of The Sith novelization, Vaapad involved the practitioner using anger as a weapon without letting it control them. Given everything I already said, Donald lets his anger guide him but also focuses and uses it to protect his family. So, I think that a combination between Juyo and Vaapad would be fitting for Donald since he lets his anger guide him like a Sith but also doesn’t let it make him hurt his loved ones like a Jedi.
Tumblr media
As shown in the episode ‘Louie’s Eleven!’, Daisy fights pretty ferociously and is able to focus her rage for a specific task just like Donald. So, if Daisy were to use a lightsaber, she might try out a combination of Juyo and Vaapad for the same reasons I said Donald might in my previous point. But, as also shown in the episode ‘Louie’s Eleven!’, Daisy seems to prefer dodging and evading and then delivering a ferocious counterattack while Donald, on the other hand, seems to prefer charging the enemy head-on. So, during a lightsaber duel, Daisy might dodge and evade the opponent’s lightsaber strikes and then counter with ferocious lightsaber strikes with her combination between Juyo and Vaapad as opposed to Donald who would probably just charge the opponent head-on.
Tumblr media
As shown in the episode ‘Nothing Can Stop Della Duck!’, Della used acrobatics during her fight against the Gilded Man. So, if Della were to use a lightsaber, she might try out Ataru. After all, shown in The Jedi Path book, Ataru involves acrobatics and it also involves all sorts of energetic movements. And, as shown in the episode ‘What Ever Happened To Della Duck?!’, Della can be quite energetic. Also, using Ataru might allow Della to outmaneuver her opponent with its acrobatics and deliver all kinds of punches and kicks as well as lightsaber strikes. Plus, as also shown in the episode ‘What Ever Happened To Della Duck?!’, Della has a prosthetic leg. So, the kicks Della delivers with her prosthetic would probably do more damage.
Tumblr media
As shown in the episode ‘Daytrip Of Doom!’, Webby is quite the combat enthusiast. So, if Webby were to use a lightsaber, she might try out every form of lightsaber combat. After all, given that Webby is a combat enthusiast, she would probably really relish the opportunity to practice as many moves as possible with a weapon she’s never seen before. Webby’s combat enthusiasm probably also means that she would really like to practice lightsaber combat forms with quite a few different types of lightsabers like the regular single-bladed lightsaber, 2 single-bladed lightsabers at the same time, the double-bladed saberstaff, etc. Also, as shown in the episode ‘From The Confidential Casefiles Of Agent 22!’, Webby was trained to fight by her grandma Beakley who was a secret agent. So, I think that means it would be easy for Webby to deduce the strengths and weaknesses of certain lightsaber combat forms. For example, Webby would probably be able to easily deduce that Soresu would only, as Darth Traya described Soresu in the Knights Of The Old Republic 2 video game, delay the inevitable since Soresu, as shown in The Jedi Path book, is a lightsaber combat form that only focuses on defense without any focus on offense thus leaving no room to counterattack.
Tumblr media
As shown in the episode ‘The Phantom And The Sorceress!’, Lena has magical powers at her disposal that she can use in combat. So, if Lena were to use a lightsaber, I think that she would try out Niman. As shown in The Jedi Path book, Niman is a form of lightsaber combat that encourages integrating Force abilities into lightsaber combat. Obviously, Lena doesn’t have the Force. But Lena’s magical abilities would make a sufficient substitute. Also, Lena might get some help from Webby to use a lightsaber properly. After all, as shown in the episode ‘The Other Bin Of Scrooge McDuck!’, Lena and Webby have a strong bond and, as I already pointed out in my previous point, Webby was trained to fight by her grandma Beakley who was a secret agent. And I think that Webby would be incredibly thrilled to spar with Lena given their bond and the fact that, as I also already pointed out in my previous point, Webby is a combat enthusiast.
Tumblr media
As shown in the episode ‘The Duck Knight Returns!’, Drake Mallard AKA Darkwing Duck is able to take quite a bit of punishment and keep on fighting. So, if Drake were to use a lightsaber, I think that he would try out Djem So. After all, like I pointed out earlier, Djem So is about both blocking and attacking. And, as shown in the episode ‘Moonvasion! Part 1’, Drake takes the enemy’s punishment and counters with his own strikes. the defensive part of Djem So would be perfect when paired with Drake’s resilience and ability to persevere and the offensive part of Djem So would be perfect when paired with Drake’s ability to fight back while persevering through the enemy’s attacks. But I think Drake might also practice Soresu. After all, as also shown in the episode ‘Moonvasion! Part 1’, Drake has a limit to how much punishment he can take before collapsing and is somewhat lacking in terms of fighting skills compared to other characters from the DuckTales (2017) TV series. Plus, Drake might exercise more caution when dealing with an opponent who is wielding a lightsaber since, as shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 2: A Case Of Mistaken Reality!’, Drake as well as Launchpad were able to think up strategies to take down the Fearsome Four by playing off their weaknesses that they read and watched in in-universe Darkwing Duck media. And, as shown in the Star Wars: Darth Bane: Rule Of Two novel, Darth Bane taught Darth Zannah Soresu in order for Darth Zannah to accommodate for her relative lack of physical prowess with Soresu’s dedication to defense and redirection. So, Soresu might also help Drake accommodate for his relative lack of fighting skills. And Drake might also practice a little bit of Ataru. After all, as shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 1: The St. Canardian Guardian!’, Drake sometimes fights with acrobatics and, like I pointed out earlier, Ataru is about acrobatics.
Well, that’s all for this post.
See you all next time.

Independent and apolitical planet, known for their ethical raising of livestock. N'Zoth is also called Takodana's far-moon.

Weapon(s) : two lightsabers, both pale yellow Fighting style : master of Shien & Djem So, proficient in Soresu and Makashi. Former Jedi master : Kit Fisto Current duties : i'm part of an investigation team that is looking for Sifo Dyas, I'm regularly sent on missions on other systems, and I sometimes act as a substitute teacher at the Temple.
Tumblr media
ᴍ ᴊᴏᴜʀɴᴇʏ ɪɴ ᴛʜɪꜱ ᴅʀ
My S/O : Obi Wan Kenobi (26) Trope : childhood rivals to colleagues to lovers
Tumblr media
Backstory : I was born on N'Zoth to a Zoth farmer and a Coruscanti smuggler who had been seeking refuge. Soon after my birth, my father, the smuggler, is contacted by an old friend of his and he is never seen again. My mother falls ill and passes away soon after (sad backstory who's surprised). The rest of the community proceeds to raise me together.
On my third birthday, a Zoth trader who suspects I may be force sensitive goes off-planet to Takodana and presents me to Maz Kanata, who is force-sensitive. Maz confirms his suspicions.
This confirmation triggers several intense community meetings on N'Zoth. It is common knowledge that force-sensitives can have a hard time in the future if they receive no training (this is specific to my dr). On top of that, the Zoth deeply respect the jedi and what they stand for, so they'd be honored if one of their members became one (I might make another post on this lol, but in my dr the Jedi are known to be fierce protectors of apolitical planets like N'Zoth).
However, the Zoth are a very tight-knit group who have difficulty sending anyone from the community away...ultimately, they are unable to reach a decision. They call upon the Jedi Council to send someone to talk to them.
Kit Fisto is sent and helps reach a settlement. The Zoth decide on leaving me to the Jedi Order, with the sole condition that I'd be able to visit my home planet as much as I wanted. I become a Youngling at the Temple and then Kit Fisto's Padawan.
At around 6/7, Young Obi Wan starts fueling animosity and competitiveness between us (he'd probably say it was me who started it but don't trust him guys he is a liar and a cheat). We spend our Youngling and early Padawan years trying to one-up each other constantly. The whole thing must've been so silly to watch from the pov of an older Jedi Master but to us it was life or death.
We eventually grow out of it and we go our own way.
Fast forward to my early twenties, I pass my last Jedi Trials on a difficult mission with Kit Fisto. I get knighted and start going on missions alone.
Tumblr media
My first shift : I am currently hitching a ride inside a small commercial ship, on my way back to the Jedi Temple. A few days later, the Naboo blockade happens. I am called to go to a meeting with the Jedi Council to discuss sending reinforcements. I interact with Obi Wan for the first time in years.
He will get knighted by the end of the Naboo conflict (Qui Gon does not die in my dr).
Tumblr media
Following events (for now) : my dr *loosely* follows the plot of Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and a tiiiiny bit of Revenge of the Sith. I have switched some dates around and shortened the duration of the main conflict (2/3 years instead of 10+). There are far less battles and there is no actual "war".
In my dr, Sifo Dyas is still alive. Soon after my knighting I become part of the investigation team that is looking into his disappearance. A few months after my first shift and through our investigations, our evidence starts hinting that Palpatine was somehow involved.
Anakin had been found by Qui Gon a few years prior to the Naboo blockade and became Windu's padawan. In the future, he becomes a knight, does not turn to the dark side, and will catch Palpatine alongside his former master. Order 66 is never initiated (thank fuck).
(I haven't watched SW rebels yet so some things might change if I decide to include some parts of the show).
Tumblr media
*note : the Jedi Order in my dr has a slightly different dynamic that the canon one. The canon one raises some ethical questions that I just don't want to deal with when I shift there heh. Might make a post on the changes I made idk.*

Chapter 10 from Memories
Okay, sorry. I know i said that i would post the last chapters on the same post, but now i'm not. I have now finished chapter 10 and working on chapter 11. I really hope you enjoyed the story and I will probably begin soon on a new one. I just really love writing 😅 Anyway, here is chapter 10.
Chapter 10
The negotiator
summary: I love to put Maul, Sidious, Dooku and Grievous in a battle against the Jedi, just to see how their reactions would be if they had to work together. Hope you enjoy it !
Scarif
When he landed on Scarif, he saw a big house. They’re probably in there, thought the Jedi. But he could also feel something was wrong and it became stronger every second he came closer to the house. Obi-Wan could feel that Qui-Gon and the others were in danger. He entered the house and was surprised that there weren’t any guards. Then the young man saw Qui-Gon, Ahsoka and Anakin sitting on the square. He ran towards them and removed their handcuffs. ‘You shouldn’t have come,’ said Qui-Gon. Obi-Wan looked confused. ‘They are looking for you !’ said Anakin. ‘Then let’s get out of here.’ The other Jedi stood up and they ran towards the door. But before they could reach it, the door closed. Qui-Gon heard someone shouting his name. He turned around and saw Sidious, Dooku, Maul and Grievous. ‘Since when are they working together ?’ said Ahsoka. ‘Since we want you Jedi extinct. I will get my revenge on you, Kenobi !’ ‘I thought you already wanted that,’ said Anakin, with a sassy smile. ‘I would like to see you try.’ ‘With pleasure,’ said the Sith lord.
‘How are we going to do it ? Alone or together ?’ ‘Let’s first try alone,’ said Qui-Gon. Just on time. Maul attacked Ahsoka, Grievous Anakin, Dooku Qui-Gon and Sidious Obi-Wan. The Sith lord had never been so full of hatred, he wanted to destroy Kenobi at every cost. At the same time Ahsoka had her hands full on Maul. He's fast for a guy who lost his legs, she thought. Maul was arrogant, but he didn’t know one thing. And that was that Ahsoka was trained by Anakin Skywalker. The young Jedi had become a master at Shien and Djem So. She had been practicing with Rex, Fives, Jesse, Echo and a few others. Maul barely stood a chance against her. While Ahsoka was busy with Maul, was Anakin trying to block and avoid Grievous’ lightsabers. Thank god he can’t use the Force, thought Anakin.
Sidious was furious. He had tried everything. Wait…. There was one thing he hadn’t tried yet. The Sith Force-pushed Kenobi as hard as he could and sended lightning right after that.
Obi-Wan was surprised how easy the fight went. Perhaps my memories are coming back, he thought. Then suddenly he was thrown backwards. The Jedi made a backflip and ignited his lightsaber at the exact moment he landed. And it was good that it had become a habit, because Sidious sended Force-lightning right after that. Kenobi could block it just in time. Then the Sith lord pushed him against the wall and started to electrocute him. The Jedi felt confused. Was he dying or was he just starting to see random things that he couldn’t remember ? Kenobi didn’t feel the pain, he could only focus on those images. He saw him, Qui-Gon and a beautiful looking girl on the run for bounty hunters. Then he saw Anakin, Ahsoka and him picnicking with people in white armor. The sun shone at its brightest and a few of them jumped in the sea to cool down. Who were they ? He tried to remember, but there was some kind of blockade.
Anakin was still trying to avoid Grievous’ lightsabers when he saw Sidious electrocuting the very same man who had trained him. Anakin gathered all the strength in him, he connected with the Force and pushed Sidious with the Force as hard as he could. He ran to Obi-Wan. ‘Are..you..okay ?’ he asked, out of breath. ‘Yes, i’m alright, Anakin. It feels good to be back,’ said the older Jedi. ‘Wait.. Are you..’ ‘Yes. Thanks to you and Qui-Gon. And Ahsoka of course. Now let’s get him.’ Anakin almost couldn’t believe his ears. His master had his memories back ! But the only thing that he said was: ‘This is where the fun begins.’ The two men shared a look.
The two Jedi saw Sidious walking towards them, igniting his sabers. ‘I will take him on the right and you on the left.’ ‘As you say so, Master.’ They both laughed. A few years ago, just before the Clone Wars, they had a fight with Dooku. Sidious attacked and the fight began.
In the meantime was Grievous searching for a Jedi to slay. He decided to help Dooku. It became a bit too dangerous when Grievous arrived. Qui-Gon decided to see how things went at Ahsoka.
Anakin was surprised to see how powerful his old master had become. He sensed the calmness in his master and knew that that was his strength. Obi-Wan Kenobi had never been so powerful before. They both took their stance. Anakin used Form V and Obi-Wan Form III, also better known as Soresu. The two young Jedi shared a look. They would do this together. Dying or surviving. Anakin felt that Obi-Wan was nervous through their bond. He sent a reassuring smile and the older Jedi answered it.
Sidious was delighted. The Jedi had his memories back, so now would be the perfect time for revenge. He only needed to get close to Qui-Gon. That was all he needed. But first he had to go through Skywalker and Kenobi. This wouldn’t be easy. Both Skywalker and Kenobi were powerful warriors. Perhaps…. No, that was too difficult. What was he worrying about ? He was a bloody Sith lord ! That answer came five seconds later. In the form of two lightsabers.
Ahsoka and Qui-Gon were both exhausted. They had been fighting for more than twenty minutes against three Sith. Actually two and a half Sith, but still… We need to get out of here, thought Qui-Gon. Or we will never make it. He said that to Ahsoka. She nodded and made a backflip towards her master and grandmaster. ‘We need to get out of here !’ she shouted. ‘Alright, we’re coming !’ replied Anakin back, while blocking one of Sidious’ lightsabers. He nodded to Obi-Wan. ‘Three…two…one… now !!’ They both made a backflip at the exact same moment and landed near Ahsoka and Qui-Gon. ‘So, how are we gonna get out of here ?’ Qui-Gon asked. ‘We can jump over the gate, but first we need to get rid of them.’ ‘Good thinking, my old padawan. Force push ?’ They all nodded and Ahsoka counted: ‘Three…two…one… now !’ The four Jedi all pushed at the same moment and the Sith were blown backwards. They jumped over the gate and ran for their lives. Once on the ship took Anakin off and flew to space.

Manga the Week of 9/15/21
SEAN: Gonna start reversing the list more often as, no offense to Seven Seas, I am tired of Airship getting the first image every week.
So we start with Yen On, who have a plethora of “delayed from August… and July” debuts for us! Four of them, in fact.
Bond and Book (Musubu to Hon) is a new series from the author of the Book Girl light novels, which I greatly enjoyed when they came out ages ago. Sadly, they came out before the LN boom, so sold poorly – I hope this does better. It seems to be a linked story series, as the books overall involve a young man who can “hear the voices of books”, and each book has him dealing with a specific problem. The first is called The Devotion of “The Surgery Room” (a short story by Japanese author Kyōka Izumi).
ASH: This sounds right up my alley. I, too, enjoyed what I read of Book Girl and I like book-ish type stories.
SEAN: Second we have If the RPG World Had Social Media… (Moshi Role Playing Game no Sekai ni SNS ga Attara), a series which I’m going to take a wild guess is a comedy. Would you challenge the demon lord via text?
Third we have Magistellus Bad Trip. A Certain Magical Index may be dead in North America, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a new series by the same author. A VR city with gambling and high stakes is about to be taken by a young man and his succubus partner.
Lastly, we get a spinoff from The Irregular at Magic High School, the appropriately named The The Irregular at Magic High School. Seems to be more of a continuation than a legit spinoff – they’re even keeping the numbering, as this is Vol. 17. But it has to be a new series, I’m sure.
ASH: Huh! That’s an interesting way of doing it.
SEAN: Viz Media debuts Mao, the new Rumiko Takahashi series. This runs in Weekly Shonen Sunday, and is definitely a step back towards serious supernatural/horror themed stories.
MICHELLE: Kinda curious about this one.
ASH: Same!
MELINDA: And me!
SEAN: Also from Viz: a double shot of Kenjiro Hata, as we get Fly Me to the Moon 7 and Hayate the Combat Butler 38. Other than that, it’s tie-ins galore, as we see Kirby Manga Mania 2, Pokemon: Sun & Moon 11, Splatoon 13, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess 9, and YO-KAI WATCH 18.
Tokyopop has A Gentle Noble’s Vacation Recommendation 4.
SuBLime debuts Black or White (Kuro ka Shiro ka), which runs in Kadokawa’s Emerald. Two actors who are typecast in roles they’d rather not be doing are secretly lovers.
ASH: I’m looking forward to giving this one a try.
MELINDA: That does sound interesting, actually.
SEAN: Also from SuBLime, we have Jealousy 4 and Given 6.
MICHELLE: I am so behind on Given already.
ASH: I’m a bit behind, too, despite enjoying the series!
SEAN: Square Enix has the 4th volume of A Man and His Cat.
MICHELLE: Yay!
MELINDA: Another yay!
SEAN: Another small week from Seven Seas. They have The Ideal Sponger Life 9, Plus-Sized Elf 7, and Reincarnated As a Sword 7.
One Peace debuts Multi-Mind Mayhem (Isekai Tensei Soudouki), based on the as yet unlicensed light novel. This story of a man with three different souls in his body – his own, a Japanese samurai, and a Japanese otaku – comes from Alpha Polis.
ASH: I am possibly intrigued.
SEAN: Kodansha, in print, has Orient 4 and A School Frozen in Time 3.
MICHELLE: I enjoyed the first volume of A School Frozen in Time.
ASH: I still need to read it, but I do have a copy!
SEAN: Digitally, as always, much more. Two debuts. Turns Out My Online Friend is My Real-Life Boss! (Online Game Nakama to Sashi Off shitara Shokuba no Onijoushi ga Kita) is a BL title from Ichijinsha’s Gateau, about a guy who tries to destress after days dealing with his evil boss by talking with a gaming friend online. then they meet up in real life and… yeah, you guessed it.
The other debuts is also BL and also from Ichijinsha’s Gateau. We’re On Our Own From Here (Konosaki wa Futarikiride) is a high school romance between two boys, spurred on by a girl seemingly confessing to one.
MICHELLE: This looks really cute!
MELINDA: I’m a sucker for this type of story.
SEAN: There’s also Abe-kun’s Got Me Now! 7, Ace of the Diamond 34, Giant Killing 26, Police in a Pod 4, The Springtime of My Life Began with You 4, Tokyo Revengers 22, We Must Never Fall in Love 8, and Yamaguchi-kun Isn’t So Bad 2.
MICHELLE: Lots of stuff here that I’m interested in! Mostly the sports, not gonna lie.
ASH: I’ll admit to being fond of sports manga, too.
SEAN: J-Novel Club debuts Dragon Daddy Diaries: A Girl Grows to Greatness (Totsuzen Papa ni Natta Saikyou Dragon no Kosodate Nikki: Kawaii Musume, Honobono to Ningenkai Saikyou ni Sodatsu), a title from the author of Sexiled and A Lily Blooms in Another World, so again, I would not worry about daddy-daughter issues here. This looks super cute, and is about what you’d expect: a dragon adopting and raising a human child.
ASH: Another book to add to the list to check out!
Also on the light novel tip from J-Novel Club: The Apothecary Diaries 3, Culinary Chronicles of the Court Flower 3, Perry Rhodan NEO 3, The Sidekick Never Gets the Girl, Let Alone the Protag’s Sister! 2, and A Wild Last Boss Appeared! 6.
Lastly we have Airship. In print, they’ve got How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom 12 and Muscles Are Better Than Magic! 3.
Two early digital debuts. The Most Notorious “Talker” Runs the World’s Greatest Clan (Saikyou no Shien-shoku “Wajutsushi” Dearu ore wa Sekai Saikyou Kuran o Shitagaeru). Sigh. Weak. But really strong. Betrayed. Evil? Probably, but he’s our hero. Moving on.
Planet of the Orcs is from Kodansha’s Legend Novels line, and therefore I expect it to be pretentious as hell, even though when I look at the premise all I can do is sing “ORCS WITH GUNS!” to the tune of Duran Duran’s Girls on Film.
That’s a big chunk of stuff… but is it for you?

G E N E R A L I N F O R M A T I O N
Name: Josren Ifol
Age: 17
Species: Miraluka
Gender: Female (she/her)
Birth: 37 BBY
Affiliations: Luka Sene, Jedi Order
Era: Clone Wars
P H Y S I C A L I N F O R M A T I O N
Height: 5’ 6”
Skin tone: Light
Eyes: None
Hair color: Brown
Hairstyle: Ponytail with messy bangs
A B O U T T H E M
Homeworld: Alpheridies
Language(s): Miralukese, Galactic Basic Standard, Binary
Personality: Josren is a very emotional and expressive person. She has to since she has no eyes and half her face is covered by a mask. She also makes up for this by using the force to convey her emotions if they're strong enough, causing other force-sensitives to feel similar emotions.
Backstory: Josren Ifol is the daughter of Zadek and Aileeh Ifol on the planet Alpheridies. She lived a relatively comfortable life and, when she displayed more advanced abilities with the Force, she was brought to be trained and educated at the Luka Sene. For many years, she lived and learned with her brothers and sisters until Jedi came to Alpheridies looking for force-sensitive beings to help fight in the war against the Separatists. Being the naive and eager girl she was, Josren was quick to volunteer and fight at the age of 14. Many of her people, including her teacher warned her and tried to convince her otherwise, but Josren wanted to try and help people all over the galaxy. So, she left with a few others to Coruscant and to the Jedi Temple. She was initially taught the beliefs of the Jedi and taught how to fight with a lightsaber. Training went by pretty fast since the girl was already taught the basics of combat during her time at the Luka Sene. She also had to construct and learn how to wield a lightsaber. Although this time, instead of combat being a means of self-defense, it was to be used in the means of attack. The training is what started opening her eyes to how contradictory the Jedi were—supposed peacekeepers fighting in a war.
She was assigned to Jedi Master Kit Fisto as an apprentice. Her first mission was helping her master track down Viceroy Gunray where she met Fisto's former padawan. They soon found out it was a trap. Most of their clone squad had been killed by Grievous and Josren became angry over their deaths and wanted revenge, the anger translating through the force, causing Nahdar to become angry as well. Josren herself starts to calm down each time Fisto reminds the two but Nahdar doesn't calm down until eventually, Nahdar is separated from the two and ultimately killed by Grievous in a duel. The two then go to escape, fighting off Grievous and his droids before flying away. After this mission, they mourn over the deaths of the clones and Nahdar and Kit teaches Josren how to control her emotions more since he could feel through the force that she was projecting her emotions through it. This makes Josren feel guilty and responsible for the death of Nahdar, making her hesitant to use the force as often as she used to. Yoda then offered to teach Josren a few lessons after Kit Fisto reported to the Council what happened and help her regain her confidence and have better control.
Soon, Josren and Master Fisto were assigned to go to the Ord Cestus medical station in order to gather supplies and aid for Master Windu and get them ready to be shipped off on Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee's ship. When word got out that Geonosian brain worms had taken control of the ship, Josren became increasingly worried for the people on board, especially for Ahsoka whom the young padawan had befriended. When they eventually boarded, Josren was quick to care for the Togruta and make sure her friend was in stable condition. It was also there that she met Barriss.
Once regaining her confidence, Josren rejoined her master and helped fight in the war. In her free time, she’d often meditate or look through the archives to expand her knowledge in both the Force and combat, befriending Jocasta Nu.
When Order 66 took place, Josren was at the Jedi Temple. She was doing her usual studying when she heard blaster shots. Investigating, she found the 501st marching into the Temple and shooting at other Jedi. Josren was about to fight when a hand grabs her shoulder. Jocasta stops her and shoves a sack into her arms, a youngling sleeping in it. Jocasta ordered Josren to leave the temple and run far, far away. Josren did as she was told, escaping to the Underworld of Coruscant with the child in hand. She soon left the planet altogether. Only then did Josren take a breath and try to use the force to sense if any other Jedi were alive. She found only death, fear, and pain.

Skills:
-Force: She is very connected to the force. Able to see extremely well using force sight, she's a bit more advanced than most her age with the force, especially thanks to her teachers at the Luka Sene training her pretty early. She's able to do basic things such as telekinesis, but also force jumps, jedi mind tricks, occasionally getting visions, and other force sub-powers. As she trains, her perception of the force becomes even stronger and her trust in it helps her learn abilities pretty fast compared to other jedi her age. She also uses the force to compensate for the lack of experience she has in combat since many combatants have been training for the better part of their lives while she has only trained for around 2 years. Some special force techniques she learns to use are animal bond and psychometry.
-Jar'Kai: She often used this technique and wielded two lightsabers, both usually in the unorthodox reverse grip. Although she still trained with one lightsaber in order to not be so dependent on both sabers.
-Form IV, Ataru: She utilized this form often thanks to her acrobatic skills and her master himself a user of this form. Often, Josren will maneuver her way around her opponent using flips and handsprings. It's also handy when trying to dodge blasters. She used this in pair with Djem So, using acrobatics to dodge and disorient her opponent before unleashing a number of powerful blows.
-Form V, Shien/Djem So: One of the first forms she learned, Josren utilized this technique often. Although pretty incompatible with Form IV, Josren used it because she preferred the reverse grip the form made so easily capable. She mixed it with the acrobatics of Ataru, dodging then striking with many powerful blows. She also used it to deflect blaster shots, often using her lightsaber to deflect them toward a chosen target.
-Marksman: She has great aim. Josren is able to deflect blaster shots with her lightsaber and hit her intended target spot on. She also has skill with shooting a blaster itself, hardly missing.
-Pilot: She's able to fly a ship extremely well and maneuver her way out of tight places. She's also able to fire the ship's guns accurately to knock down another ship.
Inventory:
-Blue Shoto Lightsaber
-Purple Shoto Lightsaber

Limitations and Weaknesses:
-Reckless: She tends to jump into battle thanks to her enthusiasm, often not seeing the big picture and putting herself and a lot of others in danger. She becomes less and less reckless as she gets older, but sometimes she can't help it
-Weak in combat: She's only studied the different forms of lightsaber combat for about two~ years. On top of that, she added a second lightsaber to her repertoire. To compensate for this lack of skill, especially in lightsaber battles, Josren relies on the force since she's been practicing and perfecting her connection all her life.
-Overly emotional: She often projects her emotions into the Force, causing not only others, but also herself to be emotional and distracted.

“Two Sides of the Coin” | Chapter 16: Memory in a Shallow Grave | Jidné Sheedra x Cal Kestis
Summary: Hell-bent on exacting revenge and retrieving the Holocron, the dreaded Darth Vader is now on the hunt for the young Jedi Knight, Cal Kestis. Under the assumption that he still possessed the artifact, while fueled by the intrigue of the boy’s strength and skill with the Force, the dark lord hires the bounty hunter, Jidné Sheedra, to track him down and have him delivered alive. However, the task becomes a trial for young Jidné, as she faces a conflict that tests her beliefs of a scarred past she had hidden for so long.
A/N: This has got to be the longest reply (in the guise of a fic chapter) I’ve ever written! ;A; I hope you don’t mind the 4000+ or so word count, honey... because this is the part where Order 66 angst kicks in T^T

Jidné passed the time by studying the Holocrons she borrowed from the Archives, she came across Master Kit Fisto’s Holocron wherein he has discovered the ancient lightsaber modification that allows one’s saber to function underwater as it would on dry land. The little Padawan was intrigued and fascinated, so she set aside the other datacrons to listen to this particular one.
For the rest of the afternoon, she whiled away in reviewing the instructions and carefully studied the cross-sections. She realized that in order for this modification to work, she will need a second kyber crystal for the energy channels to route one another—since a single kyber would short-circuit if submerged or activated underwater.
“That would mean going to Ilum again,” Jidné thought out loud in the solace of her dorm. “I wonder if I could ask Master Anesh. I bet she’d allow me.”
“Jidné?” the disembodied voice of her master beckoned her.
The girl’s head jerked to the direction where she found the voice, she seals the Holocron shut using the Force with promptness and sees Master Anesh walking into the garden square. Jidné set aside the artifact on the bench along with her leather-bound journals where she copied the things she liked page after page, she landed on her feet as Nomara approached her little Padawan.
“I’m here, Master Anesh,”
Nomara peeked over the child’s shoulder and saw the Holocron sitting atop a small pile of notebooks.
“Have you been busy?”
“Just studying, I have something to tell you as well, Master Anesh!”
“Later, after today’s practice,”
Jidné nodded in agreement, then the master noticed the four turquoise beads adorning the end of her Padawan braid.
“Did you do something with your braid?”
“Hmm? Oh, remember our mission back in Alderaan? A peddler sold these beads. I thought the color’s pretty and they resembled the ones on your headband, so I thought of decorating my braid with it—to make it look like yours!” the Padawan girl beamed.
The radiance of her innocence endeared her master, the gesture warmed Nomara’s heart that she had to clutch her chest out of impulse.
“How sweet of you. I think it made your braid twice as prettier,”
“Thank you, Master!”
“You’re welcome. Come now, my little one, we’ve much to do for today’s practice,”
Jidné timed the moment where she can ask Master Anesh if she’ll permit to go to Ilum for that one requirement of the modification. Outspoken and carefree as ever, the Padawan girl decided to speak it out anyway before they could commence the training session.
“Master, if I may ask,”
“Yes, what is it, Jidné?”
“About your saber. Is it waterproof? I mean, can you use it underwater?” the Togruta slighted her head to the side, shooting the girl an attentive look.
“Yes, I can use it underwater. Why the sudden interest?”
“I came across a Holocron that shows how to modify the saber to make it work while in the water,”
The Togruta smiled, clearly recalling and knowing what the little Padawan is referring to.
“Ah, so that Holocron over there must be a copy of Master Fisto’s,”
“Yes, well, I was wondering if…” she trailed off rather bashfully, almost too shy to speak. “I could ask permission to go to Ilum—with you, of course! To get that second crystal to make it work,”
Nomara smiled, her response to Jidné’s request birthed a wide grin across the little ten-year-old’s face. The girl sprang up and down from the floor out of sheer excitement, her ecstatic “Yes!” echod across the emptiness of the gardens.
“But first, we still have instruction. We’re going to need to work on your Force Shroud. Remember when you told me that you still had trouble in using it? Well, we’ll work on that, okay?”
The girl flashed a small smile, “I’d like that very much.”
“We’ll begin when you’re ready,”
The Padawan did a series of stretches for warm-ups, as well as her spinning exercises for her lightsaber handling. Nomara’s teaching methods were similar to how Master Caius trained her—he didn’t rely on drones and droids, he personally sparred with Nomara during her days as an apprentice as well as enemies in the battlefield.
Nomara shed off her long, brown robes—making it easier for her to engage in combat against her Padawan. In between strikes and dodges, the Jedi Master bantered with the Padawan—giving her words of affirmation or extra tips to better the girl’s combat style. Jidné showed the same amount of promise that she demonstrated in the Initiate Trials; her skill with the lightsaber amplified with Anesh’s rather hands-on method of training, motivated by the aspiration to master Form V: Shien & Djem So—which the master can clearly see in the Padawan’s pattern of movement.
“Steel your nerves, Jidné, that way your Force Shroud doesn’t falter in the slightest scare!” Nomara coached, and the sharp-witted girl took that into mind.
In the next move, Jidné did steel her nerves while cloaked within her Force Shroud, she evaded Nomara’s line of sight and studied her master’s watchfulness until she could find the window of opportunity to strike. Jidné jabbed at Nomara’s direction—to which she flexibly deflected—but immediately pulled away to mislead her master’s eyes; again, she observed the Togruta’s expression and quickly realized that Nomara is still searching for the invisible Padawan.
“Very good, Jidné!” Master Anesh commended albeit incapable to find her Padawan.
Perhaps Jidné didn’t notice it—she didn’t turn visible when she landed that jab and only found out after Master Anesh affirmed her. The child was satisfied and proud of herself, continuing in that same rhythm, the instruction carried on until dusk.

22 BBY
A year has passed since the Clone Wars began.
Members of the Jedi Council were, by default, appointed as generals, much to their chagrin and great contrast to the principles of their Order. A handful of Jedi were also dispatched as an auxiliary military group to aid the clones in fighting the war against Separatist and the droid army.
Seeing that it couldn’t be helped, Nomara—along with her little Padawan—has been named a general. She made peace with the fact that she can never keep a protective umbrella above Jidné’s head—away from all sorts of harm and violence—given that this was the life that her mother preferred for her than digging the earth to live back in her homeworld of Eshyn.
At the disposal of the Jedi General are the 304th Battalion of clones commanded by the trooper captain—CT-7462 or Captain Gat—and a fleet spearheaded by the Venator-class cruiser named Wayward Patriot. The Patriot became the pair’s second home after the Jedi Temple, Jidné’s only consolation and company aside from her master were the clones—which greatly fascinated her. She talked their way into their hearts with her curious questions and playful nature.
“Is training hard for you guys?” Jidné inquired.
The clone chuckled, “Well, it gets a bit tricky sometimes. I mean, it can’t be any different from your training, eh, kiddo?”
“Nah, I have it hard too, I guess,” Jidné shrugged one shoulder, then slowly breaks down into little chuckles. “Who doesn’t get their nerves worked up when they’re fighting another youngling with tons of masters and other kids watching you?”
“Ooh, that does sound tough!” the second clone played along while being genuinely bemused by the girl.
Despite the war, Nomara and Jidné continued their usual days for practice and instruction. The Padawan has made progress in utilizing her Force Shroud until she can now manipulate and bend it to her will. The eleven-year-old also found it thrilling and frightening at the same time—to be exposed to such degree of violence at this early a stage of her life.
“Run along now, little Jid,” the first clone tussled the girl’s head. “General Anesh is waiting for you. Best not to keep her waiting,”
“Right, see you guys later in my free time!”
Jidné hopped and skipped through the corridors of the Patriot until she found the specific room where she usually has her physical lessons with Master Anesh. She walked in on her master conversing with the clone accompanying them on the control room. The Padawan cleared her throat politely to call Nomara’s attention.
“Ah, Jidné, just in time,” Master Anesh cooed, gingerly dismissing the clone with a slow wave of the hand. “Are you ready for today’s practice?”
“Yes, Master Anesh,”
“Very good,” the Togruta turned to the terminal to press a pattern of buttons and then beckoned her Padawan. “Come now, my little one.”
The two of them descended from the control room for the ground level of the room via a turbolift. When they walked to the center of the room, Nomara held up a small remote in hand—with the single touch of a button, the tiles of the floor started to rise, take shape, hover and stick to the walls. The shifting and changing of the environment startled Jidné at first, but she got the hint.
“I didn’t know this room has that!” she beamed.
“It’s very conducive for using skills that you’ll often be utilizing in the battlefield,”
“I’m ready, Master!”
“I like your enthusiasm, Jidné,” Nomara smiled back. “Alright then, whenever you’re ready.”
Beginning with the physical exercises, little Jidné did her personalized set of stretches, she also studied the room—how it looked like, where the blocks are for her to take cover or use to her advantage—with a single passing glance before signaling her master to commence.
“Remember what I taught you, little one,”
“I always do, Master!”
The tile where Master Anesh elevated her until she stands in the same level as the control room, her pedestal remotely stayed in that height. Meanwhile, Jidné remained in the ground, her senses keening as she continues to study the structure of the room—given that the tiles and blocks can change at any given moment of Nomara’s command—while anticipating for her master’s starting signal.
Turrets unfolded from the ceiling of the room, their loud whirring alerted the girl, Nomara forewarned the girl that the guns were configured with non-lethal projectiles set for a training setting.
“Shall we begin, Jidné?”
The girl buckled, “Ready when you are, Master!”
Observing the Padawan scamper across the room, evading blaster fire here and there, Nomara can’t help but ponder to herself in her mind as she watched the girl skillfully evade and deflect the projectiles.
She has become more adept than I either hoped or imagine. That’s good. She’s learned to be strong and willful with the Force.
Her thinking led her to become off-guard of other thoughts. Out of the blue, the whistling noise the turrets made whenever they fire stimulated blurry images and incoherent sounds ringing in Nomara’s drums. She brought her hand to her head, massaging the base of her montral as she struggled to ease the sudden heaviness that she feels within her but couldn’t find.

20 BBY, THE DAY OF THE JEDI PURGE
Jidné joined her master in the conference at the bridge comprised of the admiral manning the Patriot, real-time hologram projections of the Jedi Generals Plo Koon, Depa Billaba and her Padawan Caleb Dume joining the transmission. Jidné recognized Caleb as she has met him during a joint campaign with their masters; the two children smiled at one another upon finding each other in the conference.
The masters concurred in giving each other reinforcement if the need arises. Jidné intently studied the projections flashing in the holotable, reading the inscriptions and data numbers floating beside the diagrams of the weapons and map.
“May the Force be with us all,” Plo Koon bade, not out of custom but out of heart before his projection fizzled out of existence, followed by the other Jedi Masters and the other Padawan.
Nomara released a long sigh, she remained leaning by the edge of the table, her hand brought to her lip as she spaced out into deep thought. Jidné noticed this and didn’t disturb her until she opened her eyes again. The little girl wondered if the Togruta had the same thoughts she’s been having of late, she meant to disclose it to her master but they’ve been piled with tons of transmissions as the tension of the war rages on.
“There seems to be no end, does it, little one?”
“I suppose so, Master, but… We are doing a big help, aren’t we?”
The Togruta noticed the little girl’s tone to have mellowed but there’s a tinge of concern to it. Nomara places her hand gingerly on her dear Padawan’s head, stroking her hair down to her beaded Padawan braid.
“Yes, we are. It’s our job as peacekeepers to stop this kind of destruction from disturbing the planets who don’t deserve and need chaos,”
The master’s words did little to console the girl, despite managing a smile at the Togruta, the feeling of being downtrodden persisted within the young learner. Nomara then shepherded the child to the hangar where their starships await them. Along the way, Jidné didn’t seem to be herself lately.
“Your silence says a lot on your mind, child,”
Jidné jumped a bit, startled that her master pointed out her silence.
“Master, something doesn’t feel right. Please tell me you feel it, too,” it was unusual for Jidné to speak in a hushed tone, Nomara sensed the pang of worry that rung between the words of her Padawan.
She thought she had fully buried that worry into the recesses of her mind, but she was proven otherwise when the same heavy feeling returned to her—clutching and wrenching at her core. It was a bothersome feeling that she can’t exactly pinpoint… at least not yet.
“Yes, I have, my little Padawan. Although, much like yourself, I cannot seem to place my finger where it originates,”
Deploying from the underbelly of the Patriot, Nomara and Jidné’s starfighters led on a squadron of fighter pilots to the surface. The vessels dotted the sky in a crisp V-formation and circled the perimeter of the city in Modala, where thousands—if not hundreds—of battle droids were marching in organized blocks and columns, with the superweapon guarded in the middle of the formation.
“Cleaver, make sure you charge and prepare your ion cannons. We’re going to put that superweapon completely out of commission before it could reach the legislative building!” Nomara barked through her radio.
The fleet of fighters closed in on the surface, getting more range at the enemy by the minute. The droid army was alerted when their radars and scanners picked up a multitude of signatures coming from the Jedi’s fleet and their clones. The sight of their ships caused panic among the sentient, metal beanpoles that are the battle droids.
Nomara forewarned the entire fleet to disperse once the high-intensity ion cannon is fired. When the signal was given, all of the ships flew away from the blast radius that could disable their ships’ auxiliary and main power grids and made a running pass around the perimeter to find a safe landing spot.
“Prepare to continue this on land!”
Jidné licked her lips, a smug smirk curled on her face, “This is where the fun begins!”
The ground assault was tense. The flock of LAAT gunships assisted Nomara from the air, amplifying their firepower against the approaching droids and their superweapon.
Lightsaber in hand, both master and apprentice charged through the line of battle, deflecting blaster fire and cutting down the battle droids by the numbers until they could reach the building in the heart of the city.
The battle was won, but not the war. What seemed to be only hours felt like days, the Jedi and her Padawan have secured the legislative building as the Separatist general who hid in it willingly relinquished it after being arrested. Despite their victory today, Master Anesh could not shake the dark feeling that lingered within her heart.
“General Anesh,” a clone approached the pair to report, standing just behind Jidné. “We’ve made a sweep in the building. The captives and the guards have been freed and are taken to a medical ward in the city.”
“Very good news, please relay that to me later for my report to the Council,”
“Understood, General,” the captain erected his posture and saluted at the Togruta. He excused himself and was about to return to his post by the door, but in the middle of his walk, he answered an incoming transmission labeled as urgent.
Execute Order 66. Groaned an ancient, raspy voice through the muffled feedback of the clone trooper’s comlink.
The Togruta turned her attention to her little Padawan, overlooking the city through the window of the office space.
“Now that Modala’s been freed, are we going to give Master Plo or Master Billaba some reinforcements?”
“That still depends, my little one, we have yet to expect their transmiss—” Nomara abruptly left her sentence hanging, her hand instinctively went to the base of her montral, her fingers curling around the fullness of the horn to alleviate the aching but to no avail.
“Master, are you okay?” Jidné’s voice shuddered.
At the corner of her eye, Nomara spotted the clone aiming his rifle straight at the child’s head; the Padawan noticed the steely look in her master’s eyes and followed its direction, looking over her shoulder only to be face-to-face with the hole of a blaster’s barrel. Everything seemed move in slow motion, her heartbeat was the only thing ringing in her eardrums; the adrenaline sharpened her reflexes and senses, the Togruta brandished her saber, pushed the girl out of the line of fire and then cut down the clone. Jidné registered everything when the deed was done.
“Wha—what was that!? Was he gonna shoot me?! What’s going on?!” Jidné bombarded her master with question who was still recovering from the nausea.
“Jidné, something’s not right. Something’s very wrong,” Nomara panted. “Our clones have betrayed us. We need to leave this place. Now!”
“They’re in here!” the shout of a clone roared through the door, muffling his voice.
Nomara thought fast, she locked the door using the Force and laid out the escape plan to the girl as concisely as possible. However, they were cut short when one of the clones planted a sticky bomb to the door. The master and apprentice quickly cut down the clones that were coming after them, even after that run-in, neither of them withdrew their sabers.
“Where do we go from here?” Nomara thought out loud.
The Padawan peeked over the window again and saw that their starfighters were still intact.
“Master! Our starfighters!”
Both of them vaulted over the desk where they took cover, but before they could leave the room and run out into the open—with the risk of being chased by their clones—the Togruta grabbed Jidné by the shoulder and knelt to her Padawan’s height. Her plan was to split up—making herself live bait to lure out the clones so that Jidné can get to the ships safely. Of course, Jidné preferred sticking close with her master as much as possible, but Nomara tried to talk her into it.
“Whatever happens, you run. Do you understand?”
“Yes,” Jidné shuddered. Unable to contain her fear, she threw herself into Nomara’s arms and the Togruta embraced her Padawan in the tightest she could.
Master Anesh held the girl’s small face in her elegant hands, “Now, be brave. Don’t look back. I’ll be right with you. I promise.”
Jidné nodded, in turn, her master mouthed “Go” and the little Padawan girl bolted through the halls. Her legs carried her fast as they could, evading the clones whose senses are now on high-alert for both Jedi and Padawan. As much as she wanted to use her Force Shroud, the sheer levels of stress intervened with her focus—being able to only use it for a few minutes’ worth of running—when she felt that she’s re-materializing, she hugged the walls before turning around a corner to see if the coast was clear.
What went wrong? What changed? These questions screamed and ricocheted on the walls of her skull, and were answered by missed blaster fire and angry shouts of the clones, claiming that they’ve spotted the Jedi running.
“Where’s the little girl!?”
“She’ll come around, get the Jedi!”
Jidné crept to another path in the intersection, she was too busy focusing on the two clones who were in the corner that she didn’t notice the clone in the path where she’s heading into and bumped into his side. The clone was understandably startled, but upon sight of the Padawan, he swung his rifle and struck her across the face, a portion of the weapon had scraped the skin—producing a cut on her cheekbone.
The young Padawan was too frightened and confused to think fast, she crawled backwards—away from the Stormtrooper who was already aiming the barrel at her heart, until an indigo beam of light flew his way, cutting through his torso forward and then another when the lightsaber was spinning back to the direction of its owner.
“Jidné! Are you alright?!”
“Yes, Master Anesh!”
A clone appears out of the corner at the end of the hallway, “The Jedi and the little girl are here! Don’t let them escape!!!”
“This way, child! Come on!”
“Coming, Master!”
The two bolted through the grand, luxurious hallways now strewn with bodies of clones—both from the siege and their betrayal against the Jedi. The closer they think they’re getting to the exit where their starships are, the farther the clones push them in—cornering them into the building like mice in a maze.
Eventually, the clones have led them into the central foyer of the legislative building where they surround the master and her Padawan in a circle. This wasn’t part of Nomara’s plan, so she collected all of her might in her body—while praying to the Force to be with her—and then invisible yet torrential ripples exploded out of her hands, throwing the clones off of their feet and disorienting them. While there’s still a chance, before any of the clones could get back up on their feet again, both Jedi returned to following their original path.
“Keep up with me, Jidné!”
“I’m trying, Master!”
Finally! After losing their breath from evading the clones, the starships were in sight. The hope they thought was lost was regained. The two of them dashed out of the main entrance, the wake of destruction from the siege still ran fresh as smoke pillared to the heavens.
Just when they thought they’ve finally secured their escape, a line of troopers with an ARC Trooper in the middle stood in their way between the starships.
“Get behind me, little one!”
Jidné literally went back-to-back with Master Anesh, lightsaber in hand, and faced the direction of the main entrance anticipating the clones that the Togruta had disoriented using the Force. Not a moment later, the same clones from inside had reached them in the outer lobby.
“Jidné, I want you to do exactly as I say, do you hear me?”
“Yes, Master…”
Nomara spoke in the calmest of voices that Jidné has ever heard amidst the chaos, “Use your Shroud. Now.”
The Padawan’s eyes widened, partially with confusion and immense horror, she had a clue of what her master’s plan is. She didn’t like it—not a single bit.
“Jidné,” Nomara spoke calmly again, but the tone of her voice was hard and strict, so as to not give away their bluff to the troopers. The Togruta’s eye glanced to the side, looking at the frightened Padawan. “Now.”
The ARC Trooper, already trigger-happy, barked at his brothers, “Blast her!!”
“JIDNÉ, NOW!!”
“NOOOOOOOO….!!!!”
In the blink of an eye, Jidné felt like she was flying—and flying she was, Nomara had used the Force on the Padawan to send her out of the line of fire. Jidné only landed a feet away from the circle of clones with the Jedi in the center, deflecting and banking away their shots with the remainders of her strength. Obviously, it was too much for one exhausted Jedi to overpower a ring of fifteen or so clone troopers shooting at her from all directions. The little girl, unaware that she had absentmindedly activated her Force Shroud, witnessed the clone troopers—the other people she called her friends ever since this war began—pelt her master’s body with blaster fire.
Nomara, her body riddled with bullet holes through her armor and clothes, spotted little Jidné—in this instance, she was surprised to be able to see Jidné while the child was under the influence of the Force Shroud, she didn’t sought for the explanation, she was glad that her dear Padawan is unseen and unharmed, although it saddened her when their eyes met; never have Nomara ever seen the little girl so stricken with terror upon what she’s seeing.
As the final fulfillment of her promise—not to the mother anymore, but to the child albeit unspoken—Nomara called upon the Force, amplifying her the nearly-fluctuating energy within her. She pulled her arm back, fist clenched in the tightest that she could hold, and struck the soil hard—this wave was very much stronger than the last, the seismic magnitude of Nomara’s Force ability sent the clones literally flying. Some of the clones caught in the shockwave have died from a shattered spine or a cracked skull upon impact of a rock or the stone ground when they landed.
When the wave died down, Jidné is unscathed, though she’s left with the unfathomable degree of fear that her thirteen-year-old mind couldn’t wrap around. Nomara was still standing—however she’s clinging onto the last threads of dear life as she knows it. The Padawan scrambled up to her feet and caught her master before she could fumble near-dead to the soil.
“Master…” Jidné sobbed, cradling Nomara’s head on her lap.
“Jidné…” Nomara gasped, her vision already blurring and a black ring bordered her eyes.
“I’m here, Master…!”
The master hoists her weak hand to the Padawan’s cheek, her thumb ran across a tear streaming down the girl’s face. She choked as she struggled to speak.
“Jidné… you have to go…”
“No, I can’t leave you here!”
“Please… Jidné, more of them will be coming for you,” coughed Nomara, a tear rolled over her cheek. “Save yourself… Run!”
And with that final word, the bright, sparkling teal of Nomara’s eyes have turned milky and lifeless. Jidné couldn’t yet accept the reality of her master’s death, she shook the Togruta in a hopeless plea to wake up and there was no response. Nomara’s head bobbed limply in Jidné’s scrawny arms, the strand of beads fell from the montral headband and clattered to the dust. The girl picked it up and kept it in her pocket, regretting her decision of setting up a pyre for the deceased Jedi, seeing that this would alert the other clones who might still be looking for her.
Following her master’s final request, Jidné did run. Eventually, her running has brought her into the dense urban area of Modala, the entrance of her new life while leaving behind the one she has always known.
——————————————————–
CURRENT TIMELINE
“And ever since then, I survived Modala… somehow. But it still haunts me up to this day, I can’t seem to let go of it even if I wanted to,”
“We all have lost someone during the Jedi Purge. I know how hard it is to overcome the sadness,”
“Yeah… It’s just difficult to find more ways to cope,”
“How about making me vice president of cheering you up?”
Jidné turned her head to the boy. She chuckled, endeared by his child-like purity, a similar trait she has buried within the depths of her core, though she doesn’t realize that.
“Here, I got something for you,”
Cal produced a trinket strand similar to Jidné’s: a chain of Featherfern and Royal Fluzz buds—two for each—encased in transparent, glass beads. The Jedi girl admired the handiwork with wonderment.
“It’s a saber tassel like yours, I made it myself. My first gift as vice president of cheering you up,”
“It’s beautiful,” Jidné sighed, not wasting a second in tying it up along with her original tassel at the pommel.
She secured it with a tight double-knot, the new addition to her pommel dangled with the turquoise beads as she held it up in front of her and Cal. Finally, her tassel got prettier with the variety in color. She turned to the redhead and smiled warmly at him.
“Thank you… so much,”
“C’mere, you must be cold,” Cal cooed, lifting up his arm to open the sleeve of his poncho to offer his side to Jidné.
The girl scooted closer to the redhead’s side until his arm could wrap around her shoulder. She released what ought to be the biggest sigh to date, she felt her entire body soften up the moment Cal held her close, nuzzling his cheek against her head and curling his fingers tighter around her arm. For the first time in years, she felt safe.

NIF2
Instead of waiting for the high def episodes (I get 6 eps every Fri), I caved and watched the snippets on bilibili. By no means the complete eps but enough to cry.
I'm taking a leaf from the Chinese-fandom.
FLASHBACKS ARE KILLERS.
TINGSHENG HAS GONE HOME TO BE WITH SHIEN-SHEN AND JINGYAN.
TEARS/SOBBING, AND MEILING!!!
Dasao getting there too late. Tong Liya is amazing in this role.
Also, if the kid Emperor manages to survive the last 12 eps (he is a Xiao, and the good ones tend to die) he will be a force to be reckoned with. And his whole relationship with the Changlin household is so complicated and sad. His scene with Pingjing was a killer. All he wants is to have his Pingjing gege back, and he can't have that because he is the Emperor and Pingjing can't take one more hit.
Pingjing breaks my heart - he knows it is all his fault. And yes, people (fuck you Xun and Empror) caused this, but Pingjing knew the consequences and he still chose to do what he did (the right thing but horrible consequences). And he has so much guilt because it is alway someone else that pays the price. He is just so tired of it all, and say goodbye to Yuanshi and not thw Emperor. PINGJING! CRIES.
Xun and the Empress can die in a fucking fire.
And then we see the repercussion of a country without its biggest military force. Organisation, reputation and a united front is a massive part of war, and without Changlin, a newly minted young Emperor, and the deaths of Xiao Tingsheng, Xiao Pingzhang and the exile of Xiao Pingjing all within the breadth of 3 years. Yeah, this is what fucking happens. They can smell the blood in the water.
And then comes Xiao Yuanqi. Holy shit. I'm still sitting on the fence with him. I feel that at the end of the day he is the one that is going to bring me satisfaction. I can't see Pingjing taking revenge, but Yuanqi, yeah, I can see him raining bloody vengeance onto the Empress, Xun and whomever he thinks has wronged him. And he has got to be thinking about Tingsheng. I don't doubt he loved the old lord.
You know, as much as I hate Xun, he is actually partially right. A country shouldn't be so dependent on one force, on one family for its military defense. But his reasons are backed up by paranoia and jealousy, and despite his pretty words he still wants to be the one in power because he thinks he knows best.

Learning the powerful ways of the darkness, the once Eliksni Baron abounded her House and learned ancient dark ways of The Force. For Decades she would suffer in darkness, sacrifice her very identity and will to this greater power that would nearly take her life again and again. From the torment burned away the once Eliksni Baron, and from the ashes would rise a powerful Sith, Darth Erebus.
Returning to the system she once called home, she made her presence known by approaching other Houses and without reason, she would slaughter them aimlessly, to bring death and fire across the land and Houses, devastating each and everyone across the planets. It was unclear if Darth Erebus was doing this for some act of revenge of a past self, to sharpen his abilities further, or simply watch everything around her burn. Not only the Fallen fall to her hand, the Hive, the Cabal, the Vex, even Guardians. She fights in ancient ways, mastering the forms of Juyo (Form of the Seventh), Shien and Djem So (Both Forms of the 5th), making her a deadly match against groups of soldiers and single powerful opponents. The manner of mindset she has when she fights is not filled with rage nor calm state of mind, but this emptiness within and only a desire to bring all around her to ash.
