🗣️ Cervin and Sherco!! :O
Cervin was sitting on his living room sofa, silently reading while the TV playing some show on low volume. Normally he preferred to read in pure silence, but sometimes a little background static never hurt anyone. It was an oddly quiet night, which was a fucking blessing considering what neighborhood he lived in. He reached over to his coffee table and grabbed his drink, sipping it softly as he peered over his glasses to read. Knock knock! Cervin raised an eyebrow and placed his drink and book down, turning his head to the door. He wasn't expecting anyone to show up. He sighed and stood, going over to the front door while adjusting his midnight blue cardigan. He had a sneaking suspicion it was a certain kismesis of his who tended to just... Show up whenever he damn well pleased, but was shocked when he opened the door and noticed none other than Sherco Cerade standing there. Sherco gave his neighbor a sheepish smile, playing with some of his hair. "0)-> Hey Cervin. Are y0u busy? <-(0" "Not re a lly. Why?" "0)-> Well uh... I just wanted t0 tell y0u s0mething, if that's 0kay with y0u! I understand if y0u wanna be- <-(0" "Cer a de. Just s a y it." The Indigoblood colored and let out a little giggle, his ears wiggling softly in embarrassment. "0)-> Well I just... I just wanted t0 thank y0u f0r like- Taking time 0ut 0f y0ur night t0 meet my sister and get t0 kn0w her! She d0esn't have many friends and is well... Scared 0f pe0ple. She was really scared 0f meeting y0u h0nestly. But like- I think she really appreciated h0w p0lite and patient y0u were with her! S0 I just... Wanted t0 thank y0u f0r making her feel welc0med in y0ur hive. <-(0" Cervin smiled a little and leaned on the doorframe, nodding slightly. "Of course. I s a w no re a son to be rude to her. She's your sister, a nd you're my friend. I m a y be an a sshole, but I'm not one to everyone I h a ppen to meet. Your sister's a lovely l a dy a s well. You c a n tell her I s a id th a t." Sherco smiled and chuckled, reaching over and pulling the Midblood into a tight hug. Cervin coughed a little but didn't respond with the usual "I can't breathe", instead just took the pain and hugged back.

Honda rider Joan Barreda became the first repeat stage winner of the 2022 Dakar Rally on Wednesday, while Danilo Petrucci put on a starring performance to finish third. In what was the longest stage of Dakar 2022 with a 464km special located between Al Qaisumah and Riyadh, two-time MotoGP race winner Petrucci set the early pace on the KTM as he led the pack until the first three waypoints. Barreda surged ahead at the next neutralisation mark and, although Petrucci was able to keep up with his pace initially, the Spanish rider was soon able to build a significant advantage out front. With the challenge from Petrucci subsiding, Barreda cruised to a 29th career stage win in Dakar, taking the top honours by 4m37s. Pablo Quintanilla made it a 1-2 for defending champions Honda, the Chilean rider moving clear of Petrucci at the penultimate waypoint and eventually finishing just over two minutes clear of the 31-year-old.
The Sherco TVS team enjoyed its strongest outing in Dakar so far, with sophomore year rider Rui Goncalves finishing eight minutes down on Barreda in fourth and teammate Lorenzo Santolino ending up right behind him in fifth. Further back, Sam Sunderland set the seventh-quickest time of the day to hold on to his lead in the overall standings. However, his GasGas teammate Daniel Sanders endured a much trickier day, finishing over 18 minutes off the pace in 17th. It was also a day of mixed fortunes for the factory KTM team with Matthias Walkner the only other rider apart from Petrucci to break inside the top 10. The 2018 Dakar winner ended the day eighth-quickest, eight places ahead of new teammate Kevin Benavides, while Toby Price struggled to 30th on the other factory KTM 450 Rally bike. Over at Yamaha, Adrien van Beveren led the charge for the Japanese manufacturer in 12th, while Andrew Short and Ross Branch were classified 14th and 15th respectively. In the general classification, Sunderland now holds a three-minute lead over Walkner, with van Beveren dropping to third on the lead Yamaha. Sanders moves up to fourth place after stewards cancelled a 10-minute Stage 2 penalty following a protest by his GasGas team. Santolino now sits fifth overall, while Quintanilla remains Honda’s top rider in sixth- 11m13s down on Sunderland. A second stage win in three days has propelled Barreda to seventh in the standings, just 13 minutes off the top spot.

At Dakar, this Noah hopes to expand his racing arc - other sports
It was December 2009. Harith Noah came home in the riverside Kerala town of Shoranur from his Sholai boarding school in Kodaikanal to find a new motorcycle wait as his Christmas present. An off-road race was being held at the same in the paddy fields near his house. The 16-year-old entered with his new toy. Though he finished last, the racing bug bit him, and he tore through the paddy fields for the next couple of years. The adrenaline rush from speed stayed with him. A decade on, Noah will realise a huge dream on Sunday when he makes his debut in the toughest off-road race of them all—the Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia.“It was a super feeling when I got to know I’ll be starting the Dakar. It’s the pinnacle of the sport. I am a little nervous and excited,” says Noah, who will be the third Indian, after CS Santosh and KP Aravind, to take part in the 42nd edition of the Dakar, to be run from Jan 5-17.At 5’ 10” and lean, Noah hasn’t really built the muscles the Dakar rally will demand. Most of his career, he has looped on tight and short dirt tracks, evading obstacles with steep jumps as a supercross and motocross specialist. In 2011, Noah got his first motocross bike, a gift on his 18th birthday, when he decided to take part in his first national race. “Amazingly and much to my surprise, I won the championship,” he says. TVS saw his talent and hired him. “Here I was a young racer with big dreams and I had a manufacturer knocking on my door. Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity,” he adds.Noah’s performance improved every year, and with it his stature on the domestic off-roading circuit. He won the national supercross championship seven times, in multiple categories. “I’d achieved all I wanted at the national level so I set my sights on Europe. The level of competition is much higher, and racing there, I felt, would help me take the next step.”But the move backfired. Moving to Europe in 2015 without a back-up plan, he ended up racing bicycles for a year. “After 2016, I realised how difficult it was going to be to find a ride there. I was studying as well. So, I decided to return.”On his return, TVS took Noah on board and he again started winning domestic off-road events. In 2017, he won all but one event he entered. “The one I didn’t win, I finished second. It was one of the best years of my career,” says the Kerala rider. The performances earned him a shot at his maiden international rally—the 2018 Rally of Morocco. “I completed, but tore my ACL and (other) ligaments in my knee. I didn’t know at the time, and I only got to know after finishing the national supercross championship later,” says Noah.Noah underwent surgery in December 2018 and was out of action for six months. But he made a strong comeback, finishing in the top-eight at the 2019 Baja Aragon in Spain.New focusHis new target is the Dakar. In the absence due to injury of Aravind, who completed the Dakar last year in his third attempt, Noah will join his Sherco TVS Rally teammates, Frenchmen Michael Metge and Johnny Aubert, and Spaniard Lorenzo Santolino. After 11 seasons in South America, the longest rally in the world has signed a five-year contract with Saudi Arabia. The rally will be run over 7,500km, 2,000km longer than last year. The competitive stages will comprise 5,000km with 75 percent sand dunes, in addition to unknown landscapes and unexpected challenges. The rally will start at Jeddah and end at Al Qiddiya.“The closest I have come to the Dakar was the 2018 Rally of Morocco. It was six days with one marathon stage. Dakar is double the distance, the hardest race there is,” says Noah. “I’ve discussed it a lot with Aravind, who told me to be careful the first week because Dakar is long. He asked me to save energy in the first week to emerge stronger in the second.”For Dakar, Noah had to drastically change his training and nutritional plan, and undergo a new fitness regime.“We’ve trained in France, Andorra (principality between France and Spain) and Morocco. Our training consisted of a lot of work like running, cycling, mountain biking, strength training, working on braking and things like arm strengthening,” says Noah. “Fitness-wise, I’ve had to train longer but with low intensity. Rallying has less intensity compared to supercross. For supercross, I used to do half-an-hour to one hour of high intensity training compared to four-and-a-half hours for rallying. Plus we used to ride 125km in a loop in Andorra and Spain. You also have to take care of your nutrition because you burn a lot of calories during the rally.”Noah believes it is his fitness regime and love for dunes that will help him. “My goal is to finish the Dakar. I like riding in the dunes. I and my teammates have trained for weeks in Morocco. I feel strong riding in the dunes and my speed is also improving. I feel fitness is my strongest point.” Read the full article

Early senses included ‘give an account of items received’ and ‘mention things in order’, which gave rise to the notion of ‘calculation’ and hence of ‘being of an opinion’.
