The most BEAUTIFUL thing I've seen in a LONG TIME
"Svairini" means "Freedom" (approximately) in Sanskrit. However, when it was in circulation, around 4000 years ago, it was used to degrade/slut-shame/put down women in business/working women, unmarried women, queer women, etc.
Now, the brand Svairini has reclaimed it to honor independence and individuality through personal style.
Their collections are GORGEOUS! And actually pretty accessible. I was guessing each piece would go for like $300 or so considering the craftsmanship, but they're actually around the $100-$150 range. Considering how much bang for your buck you're getting, it's absolutely worth it imo.
And the brand made a short film called Moksha.
"Moksha follows a forward-thinking young woman with an innate flair for high fashion that almost drowns in shame (literally) from a haunting conservative upbringing."
It's the story of the brand. It sounds really interesting!
"We boast proudly that over 90% of our crew are women, with a majority being WOC."
I'm losing my mind. Where has this been all my life lol
