Ngl it taking the FNaF fandom so long to figure out "ShatterVictim" is kinda embarrassing given this scene.

I mean, we all sorta vaguely knew that the puzzle pieces metaphor was prevalent in FNaF 4 + World (and later The Fourth Closet) and that it had something to do with the Crying Child's death and what happened to him afterward, but no one in the first few years ever stopped to wonder what that metaphor actually was.

I think part of the confusion came from Scott also using the puzzle pieces metaphor in his Steam post about FNaF 4 not being solved, which kind of made it seem like he just liked those words in that order and that they didn't mean much specifically in FNaF 4.

But taking the metaphor at face value, yeah, we are told directly, to our faces, in no uncertain terms, that the Crying Child's soul is broken up into multiple pieces following his death, even possibly before his death. And the promise to put those pieces back together is supposedly fulfilled during Happiest Day. Like, the 8-bit Fredbear is telling the Crying Child "yeah, don't worry, I'll take care of your soul, I'll get on that right now" and what they're doing is setting up the Happiest Day mini-game, so we can infer that the solution being set-up is being set up to solve the problem that the game is about.

I stumbled across two posts from adobe-outdesign where she basically came up with ShatterVictim, before it got that stupid name, in 2016 and 2017. The pieces literally were in place for us, all we had to do was look at the goddamn words.

Adobe adds the key observation that almost all the kids in Happiest Day look identical, all except the Puppet, and they look really similar to the Crying Child in FNaF 4. Now, I'm not sure if this was ever meant to suggest that part of the Crying Child's soul was attached to each kid, but what I can say is that it instantly made me think of this quote from the equivalent of Happiest Day in The Fourth Closet:

there were duplicates of each child

When a child's soul is fragmented, and hasn't been "put back together" yet, (Michael Brooks' words, not mine,) there are multiple hazy instances of them metaphorically running around, and then when the papers are stacked together and traced over, they come more into focus and combine. Almost like they're separated into scanlines. It wouldn't be unreasonable to speculate that, if we see multiple ghost children that all look the same, it might just be two ghost children that look really similar. (Though there are also identical alive children all over this series so, I doubt it.)

It's slap-in-the-face obvious in hindsight that the Bite Victim's soul shattered into multiple pieces, and fits with how the metaphor is used in FNaF 4 to believe that each of the four or five pieces ended up in an animatronic and that the reuniting of the MCI victims is how the pieces of the Bite Victim's soul came back together.

Scott told us there was something we missed in FNaF 4, and it seems like "ShatterVictim" is it. The very way he told us we missed a clue by using the pieces metaphor should've tipped us off to look there, but we all thought "nah he's probably just overly poetic for no reason."

My FNAF theories/headcanons

Some headcanons/theories I have about FNAF

William Afton’s origin. William’s darkness started with the divorce with his wife and her death. He killed Charlotte to destroy the image of Henry’s perfect family and to make him feel what he feels. Then CC was killed. Eventually he discovered remnant and William’s killings began. At first it started innocent. Using remnant bringing back his wife and putting CC back together, but William became obsessed with eternal life and his madness had consumed him.

Crying Child was friends with the Missing Children

Elizabeth and Charlie were friends

William's killed a total of 16 children before he was Springlocked.  Charlie, 5 from the MCI. 5 from the DCI. Elizabeth. Funtime Freddy victim and Michael’s bully friends

William’s goal in the games was to became immortal, but also to bring his family back as the Funtime Animatronics. Mrs Afton would become Ballora, Elizabeth as Baby obviously, CC as Funtime Freddy and once Michael is killed, he would become Funtime Foxy. And they would live forever as the Funtimes, eternal and killing together as a family unbroken!

In FNAF 4 we play as Michael Afton, the Nightmare Animatronics haunting him is Michael’s punishment for CC’s death

The reason why Cassidy is the vengeful spirit is because William killed her by forcing a Springlock failure in the Golden Freddy suit

the reason why Jeremy was specifically targeted as the Bite of 87 victim, is he knew too much. He saw everything in the minigames because Charlie showed him. So William snuck into FFP and hacked Mangle and had Mangle cause the Bite of 87.

There was a Foxy and Bonnie in the Pizzaplex. Foxes are clever, so Foxy might have noticed kids starting to go missing, so Vanny took care of him by orchestrating a "hook incident" in Kid’s Cove and when Bonnie took over Foxy's investigation, she hacked Monty to take care of him and Roxy took over Foxy's role and  Monty took over Bonnie's role in the band.

The reason why Monty is angry all the time is he was used to dismantle Glamrock Bonnie and all he feels is anger and guilt. And the final stage in Monty Golf arcade? That’s the virus taking hold of Monty’s worst aspect, pride.

Before Freddy shortcircuted on stage. Freddy helped kill the other 9 kids along with the other Glamrocks. Because a cut voiceline from Vanessa makes me wonder "If Freddy was working, we would have him by now."

The remnant of the missing children was burned away, but the agony remained, hence The Blob. But the agony of Henry is the host of The Blob. A better explanation or missed opportunity in not making Henry The Blob

There was a plan to do something similar to FNAF 3 with the arcade minigames for Security Breach by removing the glitches in the Glamrocks, hence "The Arcade Conspiracy"

Burntrap is going to assimilate The Blob and become the Afton Amalgamation from the books

What are the mci like in your au? (Like Personality, age, family, etc)

good question!

Charlie (while not technically not mci is still grouped with them) was the first to be killed (if you dont count 1983). She is also the oldest, being the same age as Michael around the time she was killed (13). I have a reference sheet with her personality! And she had a pretty decent family life, if you don’t count the blatant neglect from Henry, which makes her overprotective of the mci children.

Gabriel is pretty meek and shy, hence why Freddy is always hiding and never really attacks until you run out of power. He has pretty bad anxiety, and a general distrust for the claw machine because surely the claw is not that flimsy. He was the third victim and his family was the most active (besides Henry) in trying to find their kid. It did not go well. He was 11.

Susie is pretty outgoing but also a bit of a brat. She does not understand the concept of personal space, which can get annoying, but she was overall a good kid, just had the usual kid needs to learn concepts issue. Her dog died from a speeding car on a rainy afternoon, but the golden rabbit promised her that her dog Spot was safe! Chica is always moving and wanting to meet people now. She was the first victim and the youngest. She was 8.

Fritz is a rowdy kid with a lot of energy, and gave a the golden rabbit a run for his money. Fritz is exceptional at running, the speedy trickster kid put up a good fight. Ironically looked up to the FNAF 4 bullies as they were the “cool kids of the neighborhood”. Unfortunately that fascination is what made Fritz such an easy kid to manipulate. He was the second victim. He was 10. He has a brother named Jeremy.

(Note that because the fnaf bullies had masks on so no one could really identify them nor remember them, plus fazbear’s covered up the incident really well)

Jeremy is the older brother of Fritz, and is just as rowdy, if not more aggressive. He was learning karate and was trying to remember what to do if he was kidnapped. Too bad he didn’t remember in time. But he didn’t go down without a fight. There’s a reason why Bonnie is so aggressive. He was the fourth victim. He was 11.

Cassidy was the bite of 83’ kid. Yes thats a controversial take, but I’m willing to die on that hill. Cassidy’s body was separated from the Golden Freddy suit (FNAF 4 box but now in a grave) and is constantly wandering as a spectre, can’t really kill, not that he would want to, and is always scared. While he doesn’t fully forgive his big brother quite yet, he sees that Michael has changed, or at least Cassidy sees his brother in a different light now, as he has seen everything now. He has seen it all. He was 10.

I honestly think that Gregory can be the crying child of the fourth game, but in a little bit different way, I think he is the reincarnation of Evan.

We know that happiest day is clearly a reference to the bite because of its minigame parallel. We don't know when it happens, but it most likely happens on the same day as the sixth game fire. Because the puppet ascends to heaven at the same time as the MCI.

We also know that FNAF 3 and FNAF 6 Literally happens in the same year Cause of Henry's audios in one of the endings :

leaked emails from FNAF AR state vanny's age as being 23 years old. This would mean that she was likely born in the early 2000's as FNAF Help Wanted takes place in either 2023 or some time after it. But that would be too soon, Remember that fazbear ent. Had ended Along with everything. then help wanted could very well be a little more in the future. Remember that they remade their entire reputation in help wanted, It's literally a fresh start.

And yes, I analyzed our size on the playground. According to the websites I researched to make this stupid theory And the analysis of Gregory’s own character, I determine that he is... 7 years old. Theoretically making this game happen in 2030 And show that Vanessa was born in 2007.

But you may be asking yourself "why 7 years?", Because I believe that the games made by the indie developer had the same duration as Scott in real life since he is clearly parallel of him. Another thing This would give enough time to fazbear ent. To manage to return with enough money to create the virtual reality game, the mall and all that is happening in AR.

Surprisingly, this game has some parallels with FNAF 4.

He is being guided by a bear who is aware of his situation

Vanessa says that "your friends are with me" that sounds familiar with that one fredbear line.

Gregory might have something to do with Freddy's already. (Someone on Reddit pointed this out)

Reincarnation is perhaps a concept that has been shown since the 6th game.
