Easy On My Eyes - Benny x Reader
A/N: I decided to turn All I Dream Of into a series (?), as I wanted to do Benny seeing the reader for the first time. Also I have a few other idea's, which I am interested in exploring.
I know, so much Benny haha. But I will say I might have a Feyd series in the works...just not sure I can do his character justice. Were as so many stories on here I have read, and they are amazing!

She was all that I could see
She was all that was in front of me
Try to climb the mountain peaks
What if I only ever reach the sea?
Would you stay awake and wait for me?
-Easy On My Eyes by Stephen Sanchez
Benny never had an issue with women. They were always happy to flirt and be on the back of his bike. But when it came to his attention, when they didn't get it as much as they wanted, those women would loose it. And eventually they would walk away from him. Always wanting to change Benny, wanting him to be a person he wasn’t.
Benny doesn't ask nobody for nothing. And he doesn't want nothing from nobody. It's not him, never will be. Yet the one thing he wanted was someone who accepts him, all of him. And at times it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. Then there was you. A quiet, sweet little thing, Benny had thought when he first saw you.
It had been a warm spring afternoon. He'd pulled up by the curb of the large park in town, his bike seeming to be playing up. Shutting it off, Benny decided to let it sit for a while and hopefully he could get it to Cal. So there he was, leaning against his bike and having a cigarette. The looks he was getting weren't the warmest.
The next time Benny looked up and around he noticed you, walking next to an older woman, who he guessed to be your mother. The pair of you were carrying a few shopping bags, that was when Benny took in your uniform. And it told him you worked at the grocery shop that you both must have come from. The pastel green and blue dress looked good against your complexion, and your hair was pulled up in a ponytail with a few hairs that had come loose framing your face. You must have been working when your mother went in to do some shopping, making you help with getting the groceries home after you were finished work.
Your mother looked to be the one doing all the talking, while you had a look of boredom on your face. You weren’t afraid to show that side. Most women were brought up to always be poised, proper and wear a warm expression on their face. It was an act, a mask that mothers taught their daughters to do. Young women were expected to be perfect ladies. Yet you might look perfect, your bored expression told otherwise. It was a breath of fresh air to Benny.
When you walked past him, your mother looked to Benny before turning away in fear. Nothing new for him. Yet when you looked to him, your expression was blank. But in your eyes, for a brief moment, Benny thought he saw a spark of intrigue. Not to mention that you stared at him longer then most girls would. Then you had passed him. Benny watching the back of you, and your mother, as you walked on. But then he saw you look back at him over your shoulder for a moment.
That was it. From that moment on Benny knew he wanted to know you. And he had told himself every time you were near that he would talk to you. But something would always stop him from doing so. Call it nerves or being self conscious, but Benny would always falter. And then when his chance was lost, he’d kick himself over it.
So when you were leaving the diner, and a few of the other Vandals were making fun of you. That was it for Benny. He got defensive for you. A quiet woman who didn’t seem to speak up for herself. So it was his job to do it for you. And the surprised look upon your face, looking at him had been worth speaking up. Until you got scared and took off.
The guys who’d been teasing you then turned it on him. Laughing and saying he’d scared you off, how afraid of him you were. And Benny thought they were probably right. Yet he could of sworn he saw hope on your face. So he wasn’t ruling you out just yet. Benny was more determined now to speak to you, to learn more about you.
For the first time in a while Benny had something to chase after. And he wasn’t going to give up, or let it go.

A/N: Hi! Hi! I'm pretty new here so I hope I'm doing this right. I wanted to get back into writing so I thought why not give this a try! I hope you all can enjoy it!
Part 2
______________________________________________________________
Gojo
Gojo stood there with his eyes wide and mouth slightly open as he listened to Shoko give him the news. "Gojo… I'm so sorry." She whispered, unable to make eye contact with her old friend. He said nothing; all Gojo could do was stand there, his body trembling as his sapphire eyes trailed towards the open door behind Shoko, whose lips were still moving. There, through the small opening, he could see it. The table in which your now dead body lay unmoving and cold. 'She's right there…' Gojo thought while his fingers twitched, eyes wavering.
Shoko, who hadn't been able to look at her friend, slowly lifted her eyes only to stare in shock at what was before her. Gojo stood there not uttering a single word while tears leaked from his eyes. Shoko took note of the blood dripping from his lip as he unconsciously bit down on the tender flesh. "Gojo you-" He was gone Before she could finish her sentence. Three days later, he watched as your body entered the ground, or at least what was left of your body. "They say it was a special grade curse. It came out of nowhere and killed her comrades and the other sorcerers with her." Someone whispered. "I heard that Gojo was supposed to accompany them but got busy with another mission." Another added.
Gojo stood silently before your grave, his eyes masked with a blindfold. Though he appeared like he wasn't listening to anyone, he was. He listened to everyone at your funeral, ensuring that no one had bad-mouthed your name in his presence. 'Good…your name is still clean, my star.'
About a week after your death, Gojo requested to go on a mission due to his eagerness to get back into the field, so soon after your death, rumors began to spread amongst the sorcerers. Some said that Gojo was running away, while others claimed he never cared for you. As these rumors spread back home in another area of the country, Gojo stood in a deep crater; blood littered the space around him as curses kept coming from all directions. Gojo stood there, his usual sunglasses perched on the bridge of his nose.
He let out a deep breath while stepping forward, his body wobbling as if he wasn't fully aware of his movements. "Enough…" He whispered, his voice filled with venom. The curses paid him no mind while charging towards the sorcerer, each one determined to end his life. Gojo grits his teeth; if his jaw were to clench more, it would break. "Just hurry up and fucking die! All of you!" he shouted, tears running down his face. Gojo's eyes, usually so clear and bright as day, were bloodshot and contained a dark hue. "Die! Die! Die! Dammit!" He screamed as loud as he could while annihilating every curse.
Gojo's mind was blank of all rational thinking, his breathing heavy while his chest ached with each movement he made. "Why do you keep taking them from me?!?! What did I do to you, dammit?!?!" Gojo cursed all the gods, his heart unable to process any more pain. An image of you flashed through his mind. You were so beautiful as you stood in front of him. Your body language was everywhere as you shyly avoided eye contact with him.
"Haha! What's got you acting all shy like this? Am I that handsome that just standing next to me is too much?!" He cried out dramatically while pretending to shy away from false embarrassment. You stood there with a pout while looking up at your childish boyfriend. "Oh, shut up! As if!" Gojo just laughed while you punched his chest. You looked at him with a slight frown on your face. "Why do you always do that?" Gojo hummed, looking at you with a curious brow. "You always let me touch you…why?" Your question caused him to look up in thought before he smiled. "Don't know! I guess I love you that much!" He laughed, watching the giant blush cross your face as you looked away.
"A-anyways, Here!" You yelled, shoving the neatly wrapped gift towards him. He looked at the present, slightly surprised, before smiling as he happily snatched it from your hand. "Oh~ What's this~?" he sang while carefully unwrapping the gift. He smiled, seeing the glasses case, remembering how he had mentioned needing a new pair of sunglasses almost a month ago. He carefully opened the case, noting that this was the brand he loved. You were always so thoughtful and careful when it came to details. He loved how your eye would twitch whenever he purposely forgot an item you needed for events or cooking.
"So you won't complain anymore." Your words snapped him out of his thoughts as he looked at you. You stood there with a slight pout as you nervously messed with your fingers. "You keep forgetting so…I thought it would be a nice present." He felt his heart flutter as he watched you grow embarrassed, the blush on your face making him want to smother you in kisses. "Awe! My Y/n is the sweetest and most thoughtful!" He gushed while picking you up bridal style. You just screamed at him, face red, "I-idiot! Satoru put me down! I hate you!" You cried out while he just laughed.
Gojo stood there panting while the last curse vanished before his eyes. Just then, the bridge connecting his lens snapped, causing the sunglasses to fall from his face. He quickly caught them in his hands, staring down at the broken pieces. Tears formed in his eyes again as he bit his lip before falling to his knees.
"How am I supposed to get new glasses now, Y/n? I can't remember anything without you."
_______
Geto
Geto ran through the hospital corridors, screaming your name as he pushed past anyone in his way. His heart clenched when he turned the corner and saw his friend hunched over while sitting on the waiting bench. "Satoru! Where is she?!" Geto cried as he reached his best friend. Gojo looked at him with a pained expression as he slowly went and stood in front of your boyfriend. Gojo made sure to take in his friend's current appearance. Geto stood there, hands on his knees as his body heaved heavily with each gasp of breath. His hair started falling out of his usually kept bun while his eyes strained and filled with fear. It pained Gojo to see his best friend looking like such a wreck, and for good reason.
"Suguru…" He spoke in a defeated voice, tears pricking the corners of his eyes. Getos's heart stopped when he heard his name. he could feel his knees shake as he reached for his friend. "Hey…come on." He started as he gripped Gojo's uniform, his knuckles turning white. "She's fine, right, Satoru? She's really strong, remember! So she has to be…fine…" Geto trailed off as his mind processed the wet feeling on his hands. His body stiffened as he slowly looked down at the clothing he held in his fists. There, he noticed the blood staining the fabric. Tears started to spill from his eyes as he shook Gojo while screaming. "No! No! No! You promised me, Satoru!" cries echoed throughout the empty hall as Geto fell to his knees.
"You both promised me you'd be fine." Those words stung the blue-eyed sorcerer, who couldn't help but fall to the floor with his friend as he held him in his arms, mumbling apologies after apologies. "Tell me this is just one of her jokes, Satoru… It's one of her fucked up jokes." Geto continued to cry as loud as he could, unable to accept your sudden death. The next day, Geto had you cremated and brought you back to your shared home. You had no family and had always talked to him about how if you were to die first, you wished to be turned to ashes so you could still be near him. "What a stupid thing," Geto whispered as he sat on the floor, hugging your urn like it would vanish instantly, just like you had from his life.
________
Weeks went by, and no one had heard anything from Geto. He stayed locked inside his home, his eyes void of emotion as dark circles lay under his eyes from the immense lack of sleep. He sat on the floor of your shared room, scanning all the clothes and items that littered the area. His eyes felt so dry from all his tears within the last few weeks. He let out a small groan as he pinched the bridge of his nose before taking note of the small hairpin in his hand. It was a black hairpin with gold flakes splattered around it, a small crescent moon resting at the end with two small star chains that hung off it. He remembers seeing you always wear it, claiming it was your favorite.
"You know I can always buy you a new one, right?" Geto asked as he sat on the edge of your shared bed, his arm resting on his knee as he placed his chin in his palm. "Huh? What are you talking about?" You asked your boyfriend, a questioning look on your face. You were never one to ask for anything, nor did you like it when people bought you things, which was tough for Geto as he just wanted to spoil you. "The hairpin…you wear that one all the time. Don't you want a new one?" You just looked at Geto with a slight smile on your face.
"I don't mind wearing this one all the time! Besides, it's my favorite one!" You laughed, a slight hue on your cheeks while you went and gently touched the hairpin. "It's so beautiful and brings me joy…p-plus it reminds me of someone." With those last few words, Geto's ears twitched as a sly grin crossed his face. "Oh~ and do say who that someone is, my little angel~" Geto teased as he went and grabbed you by the waist, making sure to pull you back onto the bed with him. You just squealed as you laughed lightly, hitting his chest.
"Suguru! Stop it, you dummy!" Geto closed his eyes in bliss, loving how your laugh sounded so angelic to his ears. "Gosh, I love your laugh." He whispered as he hid, nuzzled into the crook of your neck. You blush, a slight smile on your face as the hairpin makes a little noise while you move to kiss Geto. He hummed as you pulled away before you started playing with each other's hair. "I love your hair… It's so pretty." You cooed, giving a strand a small kiss. Geto blushed before doing the same to yours. "I love yours as well."
Geto sat there, tears falling from his eyes once again as he clenched the hairpin in his hand, bringing it towards his lips and placing a shaky kiss.
"Y/n…my angel… who's going to play with my hair now…I wanna place this hairpin in your hair once again."
________
Nanami
Nanami stood there, eyes wide, as he held your hand in the hospital bed. You had been diagnosed with an incurable illness when you were very young. He knew this when he first asked you to be his girlfriend. He had thought that the disease wouldn't kill you for a long time as it had been over ten years since you had been diagnosed. He was such a fool. About five years into your relationship, your condition took an immense turn for the worse, and you were left bedridden with a time limit of only three months. Nanami couldn't believe you would be going through his life so suddenly. You, his precious flower.
He had made sure to visit you every single day, minus the days when he was forced away on missions that you would fight him to go on saying things like, "You can't stop saving people and doing your job just cause I'm sick Kento! That's so unattractive!" You would huff while pointing a finger at him. Nanami would flinch as if he were struck with an arrow by your words before setting off the next day to complete the mission as fast as possible. Each day, he would bring you gifts like flowers, books, desserts, you name it. Each time he did, you would scold him, saying things like 'I don't want you to regret spending your money on me.' or 'Kento darling! Just seeing your handsome face is enough for me!' He knew you hated receiving gifts, but at the same time, he loved seeing that soft smile that crossed your face each time it would process in your mind that he was thinking of you.
"Kento darling?" You whisper while your boyfriend lies with you on the hospital bed, his head resting on your chest as his arms wrap around you tightly. "Yes, my flower?" He lifted his head just so his tired eyes could meet your own. You smiled at him as you raised your hands to gently hold his cheeks, your thumbs rubbing the dark circles under his eyes. He instantly relaxed at the feeling of his eyes fluttering shut. "Have you been getting enough sleep?" Kento opened his eyes and saw your frown, causing him to let out a small chuckle as he went and kissed one of your wrists. It was true he was losing so much sleep, but he couldn't help it. Not having you next to him in your shared bed was killing him.
"I'm sorry, my flower…you know I can't lie to you." He whispered before nuzzling his head back onto your chest. You pout at this while resting a hand on his head, carefully running your fingers through his soft hair. He knew you hated when he overworked himself and wouldn't get proper sleep, but it was the only thing keeping him together. "Don't worry… I'll get some sleep right now." He whispered before shutting his eyes, drifting off to your heartbeat. "Kentoplease take care of yourself for me." You would whisper once you knew he was fully asleep.
_______
Kento held your hand, tears falling from his eyes as the nurses rushed into the room, one of them gently trying to push him away. He couldn't hear a single word anyone was saying as he gripped your now cold hand, refusing to let go of your soft skin for the last time. You just lay on the hospital bed, a faint smile on your face, while Nanami was pulled out of the room, screaming your name. After your funeral, Nanami completely submerged himself in his work, refusing to take any time for himself or others. Gojo would make sure to stop by to at least annoy Nanami into eating and drinking any of the snacks he would bring to ensure his friend would not suffer from starvation or dehydration.
"Nanami~ I brought you some delicious sweets from this shop I really liked~ Try 'em ~" Gojo sang as he danced into Nanami's office with a plastic bag. Nanami let out a deep sigh from his desk as he pinched the bridge of his nose. Placing his pen down, Nanami slowly lifted his head to look at Gojo, dark circles under his eyes. Gojo whistled, hand on his hip as he placed the bag in front of Nanami with a small thump. "You look like shit." Gojo laughed, earning a low grunt from the man who was already opening some of the snacks given to him. "Hey I'm gonna be going out tomorrow with Itadori if you would like to join us. It's my treat, so at least consider it!" He laughed, giving his friend a thumbs up.
Nanami just hummed, already deciding in his head that he wouldn't be going. Gojo just smiled as he went to leave while giving a lazy wave. "Get some sleep, will you?! Y/n wouldn't be too happy with you right now!" Nanami frowned at the mention of your name being used to guilt him into sleep. He finished eating some snacks and placed the rest aside for his dinner tonight. He rubs his eyes, leaning back in his chair, as he loosens the tie around his neck. He glances down at his desk, staring at the small photo of you happily smiling while wearing that sundress he always loved seeing on you. He smiles slightly at the memory before shaking his head.
He sits in his chair, preparing to focus only on his work. 'Energy pills,' he thinks to himself, having remembered keeping some stored in his bottom drawer from when he used to work all the time before he had met you. Nanami reaches into his drawer only to discover a small sleeping kit neatly placed on everything else. Nanami looks at it, surprised, before noticing a small note slip out from behind. He carefully picks the letter up while inspecting the sleeping kit. "Did Gojo slip this in here?" He mumbled to himself, unimpressed with his childish friend. He sighs as he opens the note, only for his eyes to widen at the familiar handwriting.
My Darling Kento,
Are you surprised? I knew you would be! I had Kiyotaka slip this into your desk to prepare for the future. I'm sure by now I have left this world along with you, my darling, who cherished me like no one else could have if my life had more years. I'm sorry to have caused you such stress, and I know you would scold me for apologizing. I do not regret anything from what we shared. You filled my life with joy, making this illness seem like some crazy thing I made up! I know you are probably working so hard right now, and I want to remind you to take care of yourself, Kento. Even though I am no longer by your side, it would hurt me to know I have caused you so much pain. Please find more happy memories, my darling Kento. I love you so much. Sleep well~
Kento gripped the corner of the letter, feeling it crinkle under his fingers. His giant tears dripped down his face, some landing on your handwriting, causing small smudges. Nanami quickly tries to rid his tears while gritting his teeth before letting out a loud yell as he sweeps everything off his desk, gripping his head as he cries, looking down at the photo of you.
"That's not fair Y/n…you should be making more memories with me."

"Kento…please take care of yourself for me." You would whisper once you knew he was fully asleep.

Time & Again (Blades)
A gift for @saibug1022 from @oh-so-youre-a-nerd (art exchange) featuring Salem’s MC, Asterin. Implied or referenced relationships: Asterin x Tyril; Asterin x Mal; Asterin x Aerin; Tyril x Mal. (So yes, that ask was from Thia but on my behalf hehe).
Warnings & A/N: This fic deals with canon compliant kindnapping, torture, and trauma. It also features medical torture and experimentation, compliant with this fic by Salem. ~3200 words
[Huge thanks to my proof-readers. Any mistakes are mine not their’s. There is only so much you can get me to edit haha.]
A bright, unnatural light overhead.
Thick, suffocating shadows blotting out the room.
Gleaming scalpels and saws reflecting that light into the shadows where it is consumed. Along with what little hope he may have clung to.
There is only that familiar all-consuming dread.
They are only snatches of memories, glimpses really, he can’t call them anything else. Nightmares maybe? For those bits of memory, visions, reality - he doesn’t know - what he does know is they are the only things to fill his waking dreams and haunt his sleepless nights.
He wants to close his eyes to escape but she waits for him on the other side. There is no escape and yet he succumbs to sleep where he is met with exactly what he feared he would find. What he always finds.
He’s not sure what is real and what blanks his mind is simply filling in to try and cope with the trauma. But he knows one thing-
She stands over him.
That’s how it always starts. Her over his prone, scared and beaten body.
At first she simply looks him over, taking notes here and there in the eerie quiet of the laboratory. Weeks, days, hours later - he doesn’t know - her examinations turn to poking and prodding. Measurements taken and written down in the margins of a parchment she keeps referring back to.
The feeling of emptiness is all that fills him.
He is alone.
So very alone.
The feeling that comes next - weeks, days, hours later - drowns out that emptiness. That dread is replaced by a deeper, more excruciating one.
The pain is all that fills him.
He is reminded he is not alone.
So very much not alone.
He jerks awake in the warm night of the Deadwood. It’s as dark as his memories. He watches Mal stoke the fire before Tyril throws another branch on.
“Do you think he remembers more than he’s telling us?” Mal whispers as Tyril takes a seat beside him on the cooling ground and wraps his arms around the rogue.
Asterin closes his eyes again and listens.
“You believe he would keep vital information from us?”
“No. No. Not like that sort. He said he was experimented on but doesn’t remember much,” Mal trails off as Tyril nods his head in understanding.
“It is possible.”
“Why won’t he talk to us about it?”
“He will when he is ready. Until then, we wait and offer what support we can.”
“Maybe I should go talk to him?”
She stands over him.
He’s back on that cold, metal table. He watches as she picks up a blunt ended scissors. He feels the cold metal on his skin as she slips it around the hem of his shirt and works her way up.
It is an out of place sound in so quiet a room. The tear of threads and the rhythmic click of the blades meeting as they get closer and closer to his neck.
He holds desperately still, not a single breath taken until she slips his tunic open and sets the scissors aside.
Weeks, days, hours later, who can say, his eyes fall closed and he reminds himself to breathe.
Breathe.
And he does, until that very breath is stolen from his lungs as he opens his eyes and finds her watching him. Her gaze is steady, cold, empty. Her face is the same mask until the smallest of grins tugs at her lips and her gaze turns bright and a unearthly fire lights her eyes in wicked mockery of his fear.
He jolts to the surface and sucks in a deep, cleansing breath of air as he swims through the murky water to the shoreline, crowded thick with all manner of lush, verdant life.
“Asterin!”
The cry greets him before he sees two sets of boots wade into the water to help pull him to shore. He waits, bent over, for his heart to calm down as Imtura stands beside him, on guard and at the ready. Tyril kneels down beside him in the mud and tilts his face up.
“Are you okay, Asterin?”
It’s a soft question.
He shakes his head, and the bad memories from him, and stands up as Mal calls out.
“Where’s Nia?”
She stands over him.
She picks up a needle and plunges it unceremoniously into his arm. He grits his teeth as she digs around until she finds a vein. She works methodically to attach a tube to it and he can only watch in horror as his blood drains from his body.
“It will help,” she says cooly.
“With what? Dying?” he quips.
“With what is to come next for you Realm-Walker.”
Her all-too-pleased grin is the last thing he sees before his body protects him and he passes out.
Weeks, days, hours later, he is awake and wishes he was not. The light is far too bright for his eyes and his mind swims as he struggles to move his head and regain his bearings.
Everything hurts and he is alone.
So very alone.
And yet he knows she’s there.
Not so very alone.
He can hear the quill scrap across the parchment, her gentle breathing, the lower murmur of many voices somewhere in the distance. Even the obsessive silence is loud.
She looks up as he groans at the pain his movements cost him and scowls at him before turning her attention back to her notes.
He starts as his hand falls on his shoulder.
“It’s okay, Asterin. Breathe.“
He turns slowly to face the person speaking to him, a part of him fearing the face won’t match the voice. But he finds he can breathe when that unsure smirk greets him.
“Aerin?”
“I’m right here.”
He shakes the already fleeting feelings of dread that cling to him but he can’t shake that all-consuming, bone-numbing fear he seems to carry with him now wherever he goes. He can’t shake the memory of her cold, calculating eyes, or the chill that runs down his spine upon remembering her smile.
mmm
The people of Riverbend draw his attention back and he smiles the same smile he has practiced since returning to this realm. What was it? Weeks, days, hours ago?
He doesn’t remember that much, only happiness. Bliss found them tucked between sheets as smooth, unscathed hands ran up his back. Stars, relief, sanctuary until it was torn from him in a few words, hastily scrawled on a piece of paper abandoned. Like him.
She stands over him.
It was as if he was no longer in his body but floating above it as he watches her hesitate but a moment before making the first incision starting near the left shoulder and working down to the end of the breastbone. He watches as she methodically repeats that same incision from his right shoulder before continuing down from the sternum, around his navel, until she pulls the scalpel from him and sets it aside.
He watches in horrified fascination as she moves aside tubes and casts another spell over him lulling him deeper into the strange inbetween world he’s found himself in.
The inbetween?
No, that can’t be right. The Watcher would be here then. No, this is some other-worldly space that is meant just for him. A trap just for his mind. Another trick she has played on him to confuse his already rapidly fraying sense of reality.
He turns back to the scene before him. It is a deeper cut than it feels, he thinks to himself.
She peels his skin back, as nonchalantly as if she were peeling an orange, and takes notes before reaching for a bone saw.
He reaches for her, desperate to stop what he knows will happen, but his hands reach blindly and fall through her as if she were not there.
She smiles knowingly and looks up to meet his eyes, seemingly knowing his consciousness is still there even as his body lays trapped, asleep.
Asleep. I’m only asleep, he reasons. But he knows that’s not true. That was a conversation from another time. Not now.
“It won’t hurt,” she says, bringing him back to the now, or then, or will be. Hells, he’s not even sure anymore.
He looks at her through tear-stained eyes.
“Why?” she asks as if reading his mind. “Because I’m curious.”
The widening grin is maddening and chills him to his core as he closes his eyes and listens to the sound of metal sawing through bone in the vast emptiness of the Shadow realm.
He is thrust back into another world as a dull humming sounds from copper pipes above them.
“We need to find a way out of here.”
He looks around wildly. Desperately trying to gain a hint as to where they are. He feels like he’s reeling, falling into some endless abyss until warm brown eyes meet his.
“Asterin?” Mal asks.
The dwarvish dungeons well beneath the subterranean city of Zaradun. He breathes. He’s here, not there. That is something at least.
“I got an idea. You with me, kit?”
He doesn’t remember that much, a tight swallow and a slight nod is all he is capable of until chapped lips meet his and he melts into the kiss. Bliss found them wrapped in each others arms. Nimble fingers teasing the fabric of his shirt. Warmth, relief, sanctuary until it was torn from him.
She stands over him.
Beating heart cupped in one hand as she moves the left lobe of his lung further to the side with the heart, to look deeper into the gapping cavity that is - was - his chest.
Huh, there is not as much blood as he would have expected.
“I stemmed the flow,” she says not looking up from her examination and probing deeper.
“What?”
“There is not much blood because I stemmed the flow. Makes it easier for me.”
He looks at her, she is almost giddy with excitement. It’s such a stark contrast to his own emotion. He looks back to his prone body, strapped to the table. Deathly still.
This isn’t real.
“If you say so,” she chuckles and tucks his heart back in place before turning to a scribe sitting in the corner.
“Chest contains the usual. The heart is within normal size for his species and in typical condition for an elf of his age. Lungs are supple and a healthy pink. Nothing of note in the upper cavity.”
She pauses and glances back at him.
“Moving on to the lower abdominal cavity.”
His wide eyes watch her every move.
“What are you looking f-“
“Whatever I please,” she says and looks down on his body as she brushes a stray hair back from his face with a bloody hand. He feels his blood on his scars as she traces one and then another near his eye. It’s warm still, slick. He can smell iron in the air.
He shouldn’t feel it but he does. He knows it’s real and he flinches as she caresses his cheek.
“No!”
His scream draws all their attention to him as they sit at a tiny, scared table. They all look up from their meager dinner plates to him.
“Asterin?”
He’s pale and shaking. He can feel it.
“I’m fine. There is nothing wrong with me,” he mumbles as he brushes Tyril’s hand from his arm and stares daggers into the violet eyes across the table from him.
“Dinvalir,” Tyril leans in and whispers, “that is not true.”
The creature of his nightmares stares back at him with a playful smile on her face.
“I can assure you there is nothing wrong with him. I checked. Thoroughly,,” she says in Tyril’s direction but her gaze remains fixed on Asterin.
“And just what does that mean?” Mal’s hard voice asks.
He narrows his eyes at Valax as he jumps up. Chair legs scrapping harshly against the floor and making Asterin flinch.
“Let’s just eat,” Asterin cuts off any further conversation.
He doesn’t remember that much, only Tyril’s firm, yet gentle, voice in his ear. Bliss found them in their own world of whispered comforts for a moment. Calmness, relief, sanctuary until it was torn from him.
She stands over him.
He’s sputtering on the bank of a river, coughing up water. The rain a deluge around them, watering long dead trees and parched ground. The sky, darker than is natural, adds to the oppressive nature of the realm.
“You saved me?”
It’s half statement, half question, and he is utterly and entirely confused.
“Your light-realm witch made sure I could do no other,” Valax crosses her arms.
“Of course.”
He would thank her but the pain that radiates from his chest stops him from such foolish behavior. After all, the water he is coughing up is from lungs she held, while the bones she cut from his body shield the heart she could have crushed in her hands.
She deserves no such kindness from him for she has shown him none.
“If you are quite through, we should find shelter,” she states and is walking away from him before he can respond.
He stands reluctantly and thinks over his nonexistent options. He does not want to follow her but neither of them have a choice right now. His body screams at him to run but she will find him. She is bound to him.
His worst nightmare, ever present, made hauntingly real. If he thought he could escape it - escape her - before, well he sure as hells can’t escape it now. Nia saw to that.
Does Nia even realize what she has done? Does she understand the re-lived pain she is inflicting on him by binding him to his kidnapper, his torturer. Logically he knows Nia was only trying to protect him, protect them all, but he can barely breathe with the thought of Valax, much less the reality of what he is subjected to now.
The cave is cold but dry and higher than any flash flooding could reach. He follows her in and stands warily off to the side, near enough the entrance to escape if she should turn on him.
“We should build a fire.”
“I suppose you should,” he states, aiming for her nonchalant coolness.
She glares at him and time stretches into eternity. He won’t give her the pleasure of looking away from her no matter what nightmares he sees fresh in the depths of her dangerous eyes. She relents before his resolve crumples and soon enough a fire is lit before them. Small but enough to keep them warm.
She sits down beside it and watches him over the flames.
“You should rest. I’ll keep first watch.”
His laugh is a bitter thing echoing off the high walls.
“I don’t think so.”
“Don’t be a fool. I require little sleep. You do.”
“Did my vivisection tell you that?”
He could almost fool himself into believing there is a flash of regret in her eyes but then again, fire plays dangerous tricks with those that believe it’s warmth will not burn.
“Your mortality does,” she murmurs into the flames.
He watches her a moment longer before settling down on the opposite side of the fire. Leary but exhausted enough to not care.
They watch each other for weeks, days, hours, he’s not sure. But they simply sit there for what could be eternity or mere seconds.
“Don’t look at me like that!” he finally snaps.
He doesn’t like what he sees with her eyes lit by and within from fire. There is something primordial, predatory, primal in the dark emptiness there.
“Like what?” she demands in turn.
“Like there is more you haven’t cut from me, more you haven’t discovered.”
“You think I’ve not exhausted all my options with you, day-walker?” she spits.
He feeezes a moment at her words, her tone, the shifting of her shoulders as if she is only barely holding herself back from ripping into him anew.
“I don’t care. Just don’t look at me like that.”
“What would you have me look at? There is not much here beside you and me.”
“Look at the fire then.”
“Fine,” she says and does as she was told.
Weeks, days, hours later he finds his eyes drooping with the weight of too many sleepless nights. Running from a demon that he can’t fight. A demon that now lies in wait, biding its precious time, before him.
“Talk to me,” he says.
“What.”
“You heard me.”
“What would you have me talk about?”
“I don’t care.”
He listens to her voice, asking occasional questions to keep her talking. She asks questions of her own which he answers cautiously.
He just needs to stay awake or at the very least know where she is by the sound of her voice. He cannot risk sleep with her here.
Keep her talking but don’t give anything away. Keep her talking but don’t give anything away. Keep her talking but don’t….
She stands over him.
“Seems there was more to discover about you after all,” she smirks.
He’s on his feet before she can move and he’s backed away from her, realizing too late that he is trapped between her standing in the mouth of the cave and the wall behind his back.
She watches him look around wildly for a moment before he has his sword in hand. She rolls her eyes at him and turns away.
“I hear your friends.”
“You do?”
The tip of his sword drops slightly until she takes a step towards him and he levels it at her in warning as he strains to listen.
Sure enough, he hears the telltale sounds of Mal and Tyril bickering and Imtura egging them on while Nia yells at them to shut up.
He smiles and gestures for Valax to continue on out of their shelter.
The earth is just as parched as it was the day before. Smooth dried mud cakes the ground and is already splitting, cracking, peeling away from the ground. There is no smell of fresh rain, only decay. It is nearly enough to break him until hope springs in his heart at the sight of them.
Soon he is wrapped in Mal and Tyril’s arms and he can’t help the choked sob that escapes him as he sinks into their embrace. He takes a deep breath. He is warm and safe.
“You came,” he whispers.
Joy leaps in his heart as they cling to him tighter in answer.
“You came for me.”
She stands over him.
“There is nothing here!” she fumes.
It’s a shout of disappointment. Anger. Frustration.
“Princess?” the scribe asks.
“Lower cavity shows nothing unusual. All organs are accounted for, healthy and normal. Nothing to explain,” she glances down, “him.”
He blinks a few times until she is in focus. He’s on his back on the same hard metal table. A bright, unnatural light hangs overhead.
The same thick, suffocating shadows blotting out the surrounding room.
She continues to look down at him, into his glazed over eyes, as she closes him back up.
The needle she uses to sew him up reflects the light into the shadows where it is consumed. Along with what little hope he may have been clinging to.
There is only that familiar all-consuming dread.
“I will learn your secrets. You will beg to tell me them before the end.”
How long has it been? Weeks, days, hours - he doesn’t know any more. Doesn’t know if he ever did.
But he’s alone.
So very alone.
And no one came for him.

that’s fine! i’m replying to it also…late-ish. i hope that you will graduate without a hitch! it’s always nice to hear from you!
and oh, i feel like chris from ASB might eat candy just to not make it ‘weird’, even if everyone would know, ‘nope still fucking strange’, haha. and well, ryan is just head over heels, he wanna be next to his crush, no matter what. and it’s like young love for him too. low-key obsessive one even. the smallest stuff would make him happy. and haha, yeah. i don’t remember what i wanted ASB be at first, besides being a pre-canon one-shot, but the direction that story took was…surprisingly romantic. usually, i write about way more messed up and twisted relationships, than that. like GP is kinda more in vein of my ‘typical’ grounds. but i’m gentle of ASB bc of it. of how different it is.
in that sense GP, is like ‘but what if ryan would actually begin to pay attention to how strange chris at times behaves’. in retrospective, it’s very scary to start seeing not all that ‘good’ parts of person, who you cherish or even thought you knew well, but maybe…you never knew them at all. i also like the idea of exploring more messed up versions of chris, bc in canon, you can look at his behavior and choices in two ways. he showed both compassion and selfishness throughout the story. but his situation kinda constructs him in a way, where you can kinda get some of his decisions, even if you're not siding with them. i also very displeased with how the game handled the whole chris & ryan’s situation toward the end, just tucking it away for more laura. like cool, bro. she’s fine, but ryan is like the center of the story in a way, i would wish to see more respectful handling of him. either way…
yeah, this also right. bc if chris acts different once he and ryan are alone, doesn’t it mean, that he’s capable of keeping the ‘mask’ of some sort in public? even in theory, it begs the question why he would need it. ryan isn’t at that stage of ‘doubt’ yet, but at some point, he will just have to wonder about certain things, bc they won’t add up. and you are spot on about dark romance, bc it’s what GP is. both chris and ryan would do…questionable things there. after all, ryan is canonically capable of deeds, that don’t paint a very good picture about him, when he sets his mind on smth. and i don’t talk only about his downright denial of idea that his mister h might be a bad guy. i mean, the fact that he’s able to saw someone’s hand off and shoot someone point blank in the face. and ah, he also killed jacob too (in one route), even if it was an accident. still, it kinda says smth about him. or him abandoning ‘his friends’, bc chris is more important to him and he doesn’t even second guess it.
as for chris’s wolf side in GP, it’s kinda hard to tell, bc while i do stand by theory that all werewolves were hyperfocused on chasing and maiming their fav person, if they were in their sight, idk if that last part can be changed in any way. like that their first instinct is to kill and eat and tear. turned emma literally torn abi’s heart out of her chest in one of deathscenes. max was trying to kill laura repeatedly. while laura herself went after travis, with their complicate relationships and all, this makes sense. nick had torn abi’s head off her shoulders. man, when i think about it, abs had it rough lmao. chris had instantly switched his attention from whoever was in the room to jump and kill ryan. so tbh, i don’t think that relationships that werewolves have with a person would influence their encounter in any meaningful way. but then again, who knows. maybe, there is some ways to make it work. after all, the quarry had deal with like uh, dark magic and stuff lol.
deer bit would have been a bit of a call back to ASB, where they nearly hit the animal, but it had bolted away, bc it recognized chris as an apex predator. ian also recognized chris and his kids as predators, so they cannot interact with him much, bc he’s afraid of them now. so like yeah, always look at animals reactions. they know so much more than we are, in some ways. but yeah, if they killed a deer together, his antlers would have been kept differently as trophy. not even bc of chris’s wolf part tbh, but bc chris is a country man, who was raised by specific traditions. for him that kind of thing is important and he would have felt like he and ryan had bonded over it lol. but your outlook on it is interesting and like, cute almost? fits the description of twisted and fluffy feelings, haha.
i know, it had been a long ass while, since i’ve updated and i can’t confidently say, when i will update the story again. might be next year, might be longer. might be at the end of this one. who knows. atm, my interest isn’t in anything supermassive related tbh. and i also had smth hella nasty happening to me like 3 months back, and it’s sickly and ironically enough related to some stuff that i wrote about in GP. but it was a real thing, so naturally yeah….it wasn’t fun. so, let’s just say, that i need more distance and time to kinda well, not associate that thing with what i’m writing about. esp bc sometimes i do write (even if i change some things a bit) about awful or odd stuff that i have actual experience with, but like, this accident had shaken me up pretty badly. so like, if the hiatus with this one be longer, it’s mostly due to that tbh. i need to be sure, that i wont accidentally trigger myself while writing some scene or generally, begin feeling some sort of way toward my own story, bc well, fiction is fiction. i do stand by that. but i’d rather avoid unnecessary stress for myself. and i also don’t want to taint my ships with whatever creepy, gross irl bullshit, it might have only a small connection with. regardless of this, i would always be happy to answer your questions or chit-chat about chris/ryan. i would just ask to keep the topic of filming and tapes out of it for now. no other restrictions, just that one bit. and like only for a while.
and also bc of that relation, i will kinda up skip detailed answer to that other section, but yes, you are correct that what ryan is intended to do.
oh, that’s fun idea! but idk if anyone after until dawn would ever go anywhere near the forest tbh. at least, not for a bit. but i can see ryan being online buddies with someone from until dawn and if they had died a gruesome death, he might wonder what had happened. and like for example, any survivor from there would surely be put into mental institution for a bit, so they might tell him what they saw and he’d be like ‘ah, okay’. and then he gets his job and he keeps recalling all those stories and kinda feel like smth is wrong in north kill too. an odd kind of wrong. but then again, if we imagine like ryan was idk, forgot his name, that one dude’s cousin and was dragged along to blackwood pines, and he was the only survivor. he might become a counselor, like years after. for example, he could have been underage during the events (like 16-17) and go to the north kill, when he hit 25 and decided that yeah, he might try to ‘overcome’ his fear of the outdoors. but also like supernatural investigator ryan sounds fun too. him literally going out and trying to see werewolves, only to ran into travis and chris, and generally feel like smth is odd going on. but honestly, if you would ever want to write your story or any chris/ryan stuff yourself, i would like to read it! i also need to apologize for my own two cents in this. i think your idea does have a lot of potential.
thank you for dropping by! i hope you are good and well too. i’m fine now, but man, the beginning of this year really kicked me into nuts, won’t lie.
With Valentines day around the corner, what do you think Chris and Ryan might do (GP and ASB) if they could spend the day together? Not both versions spending the day together, but individually. So how GP might spend it and how ASB might. It would be outside of camp time, so ig Ryan might be visiting Chris or something depending on how things are. There wouldn't be any campers or anyone at camp, so I'm assuming they'd basically have the place to themselves? They'd have some privacy, enough of it to spend the day together as they'd like. So, I got to wondering about what they might do, both their GP versions and ASB versions. It can be as simple or a bit fluffy, smutty or mundane as whatever, I'm just curious how it'd go. I was thinking maybe both vers might do something smutty, more so GP vers than ASB.
Speaking of GP, not to rush or preassure you, but how's it going with it? I think I have an idea of what Ryan might do next, I had something of a light bulb moment, haha.
it’s a fun question! esp bc usually i don’t tend to think about my ships doing stuff for ‘special’ days or having a domesticated routine. with this being said, i’ll try to reply to the best of my ability, but it might read idk maybe weird? if so, i do apologise! usually, most of set-ups for ships that i have are kinda idk, just not super normal or smth somewhat normal happens within the universe, that isn’t. anyhow……
but let’s see, let’s see….
in ASB setting, ryan is more active one. and while he technically won’t care about vd, he might think that it’s a good opportunity to kinda trick chris into doing smth ‘romantic’ for that evening. even if bc he’s kinda pinning so hard, that he would cling even to symbolic stuff, despite it holding no significance for him on its own. i feel like chris would be slightly confused why ryan wants to go into town and hang out, and not idk, do what they do everyday. i picture, that ryan won’t be able to stick around for longer, than a week, and he prob used some lame excuse as to why he’s there at all. chris didn’t pry, but it was clear, that ryan most likely wanted to be away from home, esp if it happens during the time, when he and his lil sister still live with their mother. anyhow, i don’t think that they would do smth crazy that day, ryan would just try to score those points, without chris realising what’s going on. they prob would end their ‘secret date’ in a movie theatre. and like ryan would pick the last seats, and chris be there sweating, bc it’s around time, when he understand why ryan insisted on them ‘going out’ lol. i imagine, ryan prob would also do smth cheeky as getting one of those candies with words like ‘you’re the one’ or smth. after all ASB was all about romance being there in the air, but nearly gentle-like, bc chris is so afraid to spoil one of the few good things, that he has. but like ASB ryan does sorta enjoy that he can make chris squirm like this. there is smth funny about 20 smth guy relentlessly teasing a middle aged man in such a form. like where he’s aware, that chris is attracted to him, but clearly he needs more time or whatever. like, ryan won’t just give up lol. and i think, that one of the most hilarious parts of this whole thing is that kaylee would tease chris about finally going on a date for the first time in ages. so it’s basically ‘everyone know what it is, but you’re playing’ moment. if only ASB chris was as weak willed as uh, little hope’s john, things might have progressed way faster. but i feel like him and ryan just having that nice, isolated memory, that is pretty calm and seemingly ‘small’ is part of what made their relationships in ASB feel so….uh centred? even partly bc chris wasn’t dating anyone for years, and ryan prob never went on real dates with anyone before, bc he thought that it’s boring. but it’s not boring with chris.
GP is a different kind of beast tho. also god forbid there be a full moon on that day, like dang. in general, i feel like ryan being alone with that type of chris in isolated camp ground would have a bit more tense feeling to it. there is just smth kinda so off about mister H sometimes, y’know? ryan not scared or anything, but he does feel how chris just kinda ‘shifts’, when he realises that they’re miles away from anyone else, and there is like just two of them and forest. nothing else. GP chris is kinda….well, low-key creepy like that, he might decide to ask ryan if he wants to go hunting with him that day. and ryan be like ‘you do hunt’, bc he didn’t peg chris as someone, who shoots things for sport, but chris seems to be tense, insisting that they’d do smth like that. so yeah, whatever, he guess? ryan naturally has no idea, that chris like really wrestling with his predatory instincts at that moment, he just needs to redirect it all somewhere. ryan does notice a lot of strange things about chris during that time, esp how he seems to just sorta know, where to seek a deer or how he can orient in the forest so oddly well and move without much of a sound. and i guess, in reverse to ASB, they find a deer and chris grips ryan’s hand before he can pull it away from the trigger, so they kill it together. ryan won’t sure how to feel, bc he didn’t want it to die. and he even less sure, when chris offers him to show how to separate fur from meat and all that stuff. for chris, it’s basic knowledge, he doesn’t treat it as smth big, but for city boy like ryan, it’s….odd. but he agrees, bc he doesn’t wanna look like a lil bitch, i guess lol. they spend that evening in blood and ryan is very dizzy and nauseous, when it ends. he was very close to chris during that time tho. they had their hands in animal’s organs together, feels kinda intimate, even if the situation itself is pretty iffy. in the end, chris tells ryan, that since he was the one, who killed it (not really lol), they should put that buck’s horns on some good display. so they do put it inside chris’s office, ryan even helps to pick a place for it. he isn’t sure why, but chris seems pleased and all that he can think of, despite that he kinda wants to shower and stinks like blood still (even if he’s in different clothes), is ‘wow our arms were next to one another, side by side, chris’s hand enveloped mine a few times to help me to move the knife’. If one would picture it in GP’s timeline, esp down the line, it would have made sense, i promise. like how strangely dark and gritty it is. love is a hunt, isn’t it?
either way, this what i meant, that my answer might be strange. i wouldn’t connect them banging to idk some specific date or day or them being more active in that specific area just bc it’s vd. if anything, vd can be a bit symbolic in another sense. it is a day of lovers after all, but ASB and GP address a different side of chris and ryan’s love in itself. it can be somewhat healing and actually good, even if it won’t solve all of chris’s problems, or will automatically make ryan aware about everything like in ASB. but it can also be intense and a tad destructive like in GP. so it’s not about sex at all, i suppose. or more so, i don’t think that they will bang too differently in both setups tbh lol. chris still has a wolf in him either way, and ryan is still like hella horny in both stories as well lol. in ASB ryan tricking chris into doing smth on that specific day is kinda still light and pinning, and more of like extra point. just gives them a bit more context of how they kinda always been together like that, it seems. in GP, i bet that neither chris or ryan are aware, that it’s vd, and it’s smth that ryan learns later on, and be like, ‘oh we did it on that day, huh’. and then be a bit of high school gal about it, haha.
ah, tbh i didn’t touch it at all. i have different hypefixation atm, and most of my freetime pours into doing stuff for my current ship / fav thing. i haven't brushed any of my supermassive wips. i know, it’s not fun to hear, but it is how it is atm. it’s hard to tell, when i will be interested in them again. like in ways, where i would want to rewatch stuff for the game or dwell back into my narratives for their pair. i’d be curious to hear what you think ryan might do tho. this version of him is sure daring and kinda short-sighted lol.

itto
arataki itto sighs for what feels like the nth time that afternoon. with his head lazily supported by his left hand he kicks another stray pebble lying by his foot, hoping to ease the boredom plaguing his being.
it doesn’t work, really. the poor rock skids down the path for nothing, and itto finds himself as grumpy as he used to be.
shinobu watches her leader, her friend, from where she sits on the ground tending to a small campfire in the hopes of finally making the gang some lunch. an idea hits the young girl then as she nods to herself, proud of her quick thinking.
she never did like the glum look on itto’s usually chipper expression.
“why don’t you write them a letter or something? you know, so you can actually find out how they’re doing instead of grouching around all day?”
shinobu is greeted with silence but not for long. itto’s head perks up with frightening speed at her suggestion, whirring around to face her with stars in his crimson eyes. she’s grateful for the mask currently on her face- she didn’t want itto to see the disappointment marring her lips.
“oh, shinobu! you’re a genius!”
“don’t tell me you haven’t thought of that before,” she tuts.
the only response she gets is the shy scratch itto gives to his neck, accompanied by his bashful chuckle.
“ah, well... you see...”
shaking her head in disbelief shinobu stands and turns to find her rucksack sitting by the nearby tree. to her relief, inside was a small notebook and a half-used pencil. it never hurt to carry such equipment around and it seemed this situation was a great example. she’d prefer for the oni to use some sort of ink so that his letter would look at least somewhat presentable but this would have to do, she supposed.
after taking the items out and turning back to face her friend, she found that itto was already looking at her expectantly with poorly suppressed excitement.
“here,” she said as she coaxed the paper and pencil into itto’s comically large hands.
the grin on his face grew even larger. “thanks, shinobu! you’re always so prepared- as expected of the arataki gang’s second in command, of course!”
“just,” shinobu could only sigh, “just try to keep your writing neat, alright?”
“hey! what’s that supposed to mean?!”
—
“hey, lovebug!
bet you weren’t expecting a letter from your one and oni, were ya? i’d take all the credit for this idea but i gotta hand over some of it to shinobu, haha! thought i was hiding my impatience pretty well but i guess not- she saw right through me and guessed what the problem was. said stuff about me being crabby, or something.
but anyways! i miss you :(
it’s so boring here without you to liven up the place. the gang’s fun and all, sure, but it’s just not the same without you. i’m still sad you didn’t allow me to come with, you know. hurts my big ol’ heart just thinking about your rejection!
i’ve cried and am still crying and it’s all your fault, lovebug. bring me something nice back to make up for it?
...joking! i forgave ya as soon as you hurt my feelings, hehe.
oh, by the way, i have a surprise for you when you come back! actually, screw the surprise- i found a really huge and strong-looking onikabuto when i was scouting for my next champion! i’d keep him for myself but it’s only right for you to have ‘em. you’ve never had an onikabuto of your own, right?
not only do you have the gang and i waiting but this lil guy’s just itching to finally meet you. i can just tell!
my arms are empty so hurry up and fill the space ;)
- itto.”
thoma
“—oma! thoma!”
“y-yes?”
the shoulder beneath ayaka’s palm jumps at her sudden touch. the young kamisato flits a worried glance to her brother sitting beside her and ayato could only crease his brows at thoma’s skittish reaction. a sigh slipped through thoma’s lips after realising what, or who, had surprised him.
ayaka withdrew her hand and instead layed it over his forearm in concern. the eldest kamisato shifted beside her to catch a better look at his friend who was seemingly in some form of distress.
“are you alright, thoma? you’ve been acting rather... odd, recently.”
“r-really? i guess the hot pot must be getting to me.”
ayato’s arms crossed in a way that said i don’t buy it, and ayaka’s brow raised at the evident lie.
the head housekeeper could only sag his shoulders in defeat, chuckling with slight embarrassment. it’s not like thoma’s surprised the two could make out his white lie. the trio had been friends for as long as he could remember, after all.
besides, there was nothing wrong with confiding in your closest confidants, right? with some newfound courage thoma managed to briefly explain his predicament.
neither ayato and ayaka looked too shocked with his explanation. it seemed like they were expecting such a confession, even.
“honestly, i just didn’t think i’d miss them this much... it’s not even like they left inazuma or anything! they always visit their parents at this time of the year but it’s never been an issue before.”
ayato leaned forward on the table decisively, a solution immediately brewing in his calculative mind. “then what say you to the idea of writing a small letter?”
“that’s a great idea!” voiced ayaka enthusiastically.
the young blond blinked, once, twice, before letting out a sound akin to that of a sad mewl. “but i don’t want to bother them! i might just end up being annoying.”
“don’t be silly, thoma. i’m sure they’ll appreciate it! i’d love to receive something if i were in their position. and besides,” she squeezed his arm encouragingly, “i think it shows how much you value their presence.”
with a single affirmative nod the kamisato clan’s leader stood and smoothed out his attire. “then that’s that. come, my office has an abundance of spare papers. although... i might need to send someone to fetch some envelopes,” ayato muttered.
“wait—!”
ayaka was already up and tugging him along before thoma could begin to refute their grandiose idea.
—
“hello sweetie,
sorry for reaching out to you all of a sudden- i was encouraged to do so by ayaka and ayato, so i hope you don’t mind receiving this. honestly speaking, though, i should thank them for their encouragement.
i’ve had the same idea for a while but i didn’t want to bother you or anything. after all, i’m normally used to these regular visits of yours and don’t feel the need to reach out but i guess i’m just missing you loads this time, huh?
i don’t know what else to write other than ‘i miss you and i can’t wait to have you back here with me’, so i think i’ll just tell you about how i’ve been doing! nothing bad’s happened, really: just helping around wherever i can. however my days are noticeably less... exciting? more dull? i’m not sure how to explain it completely but i can only guess it’s cause you’re not around.
who knew that a single person would make such a difference in my life?
i miss you, hun. come back safely, alright?
oh, you don’t have to reply back or anything! i’d hate to trouble you and i know you’re spending time with your family so don’t feel obligated to write me back, don’t worry.
with all my love,
- thoma.”
xiao
there’s a soft breeze that glides through the adeptus’ dark tresses, tousling the velvety strands in a gentle manner. xiao huffs a small sigh at the soothing feeling. a single, golden ginkgo leaf twirls aimlessly beside his head, and the man finds himself reaching out for the delicate thing.
it’s tiny in his palm. pretty and soft, and rather beautiful. xiao had been alive for time immemorial but had always found the leaf to be gorgeous. they flutter by like children born of wind and nature- golden rain when they fall in numbers, giving liyue its signature glow.
but most importanly, they signify home.
he crushes it. it reminds him of you.
you, who are currently not in his presence.
it’s been a few days since he’s last had contact with you and, although he was more than used to the feeling of being alone, being away from you had definitely done a number to his mood. your adventures had stolen you to the land of eternity- a place well out of his reach.
oh, how he hates what you’ve done to his mind. to not only his mind but to his body and soul, too. where xiao had been content with his lonesome in the past the arrival of your presence in his life had flipped his world upside down.
it didn’t feel right to not have you yapping away at him for hours on end. something he noticed rather quickly was how empty, how cold, his body had felt ever since your departure. he never could’ve imagined just how much he truly appreciated your body heat, how much he appreciated the fact that you’d share it with someone as monstrous as he.
xiao didn’t feel right, simply put. he had to reach out for you, had to have you here with him somehow- he had to.
with nothing but a resolute mind, xiao conjures up the image of a certain fatherly adeptus and finds himself by the man’s side a few seconds after.
the former archon smiles, taken by surprise at the younger male knelt before him.
“xiao?”
“rex lap— zhongli, i’m… in need of assistance.”
the eldest of the two places a welcoming hand on xiao’s shoulder, hoping to ease his rigid posture.
“of course,” zhongli begins. his hand glides down towards xiao’s upper arm in order to lift him from his lowly position, voice gentle and low timbre ever present. “lift yourself, there is no need. what may i help you with?”
alatus rises, grateful, and begins to explain his situation.
—
“(name),
forgive how stiff this letter might sound, i’ve never been good with words. i know you already knew this but i still feel the need to apologise. i’m sorry.
i just wanted to check in on you. it’s been a while since i’ve last seen you, since i’ve last heard from you. there’s an odd feeling in my chest- something that only ever appears in your absence. i’m not exactly sure what it is but i have an idea.
anxiety, i suppose, as you call it. worry. all those human emotions you’ve told me about.
but it’s normal, right? to be concerned for your partner like this, i mean. you always tell me you feel the same whenever i’m away.
it’s weird how our positions have now switched, but let me be straightforward: how are you? are you well?
i’ve told you to simply call out my name whenever you’re in need but i’m also aware of your capabilities and your love for independence. i won’t be one to strip you of such values.
(more regrettably, it’s much harder for me to locate you now that you’re outside the lands of liyue- that which i am eternally bound to.)
so, write back to me as soon as you receive this message. send it to wangshu inn, and verr goldet will be sure to hand it over to me.
don’t keep me waiting for too long,
- xiao.”

can we get headcanons for the reader getting the despair disease during a trial in DRV3? I don't have a particular pairing for this, you can choose if you'd like. I just love the entire class and I'd love to see how they'd react.
Kokichi, Shuichi, Maki, Rantaro, Kiyo, and Kaede’s s/o with the despair disease during a trial
note: sorry for my outburst awhile ago
cw: V3 spoilers (Rantaro)
#Kokichi Oma
is this a prank??
i mean- yeah, you’re def getting shuichi good but- yknow maybe we should focus on the case??
haha jkjk as if
as the trial progresses, he’s less convinced that it’s a prank
why are you acting like miu???
he’ll make kiibo bring you to your dorm to rest
robots can’t get sick after all
NEAT FREAK NEAT FREAK
he’d treat you like you had the fucking plague and would wear double masks
“KIIBO!! take care of my darling. why? because you can’t get sick, haven’t i told you already?!”
he’d be so needy when you’re finally better <33
#Shuichi Saihara
sussing monokuma hard
he’d probably be trying so hard to focus that his mind goes blank
all he can care for right now is you
as soon as any type of break starts, he’s running to you
“a-are you okay, s/o?!”
“tch, i’m fine! just leave me, Kuzuhara!”
HAHA MIU IS LAUGHING HER ASS OFF
he’s still kinda worried
OH THIS IS A MOTIVE?? ALREADY?!?
he’d leave you in your dorm and kaito volunteers to guard your dorm for his ‘soul bro’
he’d also frequently visit and check your temperature
still, he’s pretty worried, you’re pretty fragile right now and anyone could take advantage of it
he gets really protective of you after that thought
“shuichi, i am here to bring s/o their food”
“oh, i’ll give it to them, kirumi.”
“it may be eas-“
“i can do it, don’t worry. :)”
#Maki Harukawa
“upupuupu, looks like the next motive has already started!”
WHAT
she can’t give any more fucks about the dead person anymore, WHAT IS THIS MOTIVE
opposite day???
during the intermission, she probably almost choked it out of monokuma
whatever, ARE YOU OKAY? (*´Д`*)
DEMANDS that you get pardoned from this trial
she will take GOOD CARE of you until you’re better
#Rantaro Amami
he’s probably seen it before
it probably isn’t too rare that the despair disease is a motive
he’s determined to finish the trial as fast as he can
as soon as the blackened is executed, he’s running to you
*worried*
he’d probably quarantine you in your dorm
makes sure kirumi wears a mask when she sees you
he’d also treat you like you have the plague, i’m sorry, he just wants you better and not dead
#Korekiyo Shinguji
how peculiar
he just knows this fucking bear is why you’re acting out
if anyone, say miu or kokichi, even JOKINGLY says to kill you because you’re ’defective’ now, he will threaten to tear out their nerves
he’ll take very good care of you, even if you’re pushing him away
he’d tell you a ton of stories while you’re sick!!
he might get a bit frustrated sometimes when you spit out your food but, he’ll try his best to be patient
#Kaede Akamatsu
“s-s/o, what’s gotten into you?”
she’s trying to finish the case quickly
she’d probably play you a soft tune to help you rest
she’d also frequently check up on you!!
random hc but i feel like she’d love calling you her baby, so:
“my poor baby, how are you feeling?”
she’d try her best nurse you back to health so that another killing doesn’t happen

Any special touches are so welcome! And please, take your time writing. I know you are swamped with requests and I'm not going anywhere haha Sorry for the gigantic ask!!
Thank you! Wishing you all the inspiration and love! 💙
Hello author san! Im happy to see you here in my box! This is my very first time writing for our favourite Pastaboy!! Im so excited to write for him. I hope its good and I hope you like it @holykillercake swan~~
MR. MASK
Pairing: Killer X Reader
Warning: none. Its Killer fluff!!
Word count: 2.3K
Likes/votes, comments, shares/reblogs are appreciated!
Summary : being the new cook of the Kidd pirates, comes with a very suspicious and also a curious mask dude.
"Yes. I know that and I added extra sugar for Kidd", you replied to the mask dude who was telling you, the official cook for the crew, how to make coffee for the captain.
"Just making sure", he said and started to make pasta.
"I could make it for you", you said.
"Its alright. I can do it myself. You can now go and serve the coffee to the gang", he replied without even looking at you.
'This jerk... why the hell is he like this?', you cursed under your breath and went to the rowdy gang. Mornings were the only time of the day, the assholes didn't drink.
"Heat! Wire! Wake up!!", you knocked the door and went inside. The roomies had a drowsy look on their faces. But ofcourse these two and Killer mostly stayed up guarding the ship.
Then you went to Kidds cabin and knocked once before entering.
"Captain, wake up", you said and carefully placed the hottest mug on the side of the night stand. He just grunted and turned. You knew, once Kidd woke up his drink would turn warm. So his was extra hot than others.
Once when a traitor was about to kill Kidd in his sleep, the first mate used the boiling hot coffee which was on the captains stand just in time. So... its not only a drink but also a weapon.
You quickly handed the rest of the crew, their mugs and went to the kitchen to brew the stew for the breakfast. Yes ofcourse it was wished by Kidd himself the day before.
You saw the first mate eating his pasta peacefully with his mask on. Before you were the cook, he cooked for the crew and this became his habbit to eat before the crew. He never removed his mask. Not once he revealed his face.
It would be a lie, if you said you weren't interested how he looked like and why he wore his mask always. But slowly you got used to him and his behaviour around you.
He always told you what to add and always asked what you were making. His special interest to the ingredients was weird. He looked at the ingredients and cut them for you everytime. As if you'd poison the food, if he wasn't around.
You were getting pissed by his actions day by day. You went to the stove and continued to stir the stew.
The breakfast was hectic with the rowdy crew and their massive appetite. You did feel someone staring at you once in a while. There would be 2 people if you felt like someone is staring at you. One being heat and other, the blond. Heat sat beside you, so you knew it wasnt him. And you made sure Heat could over come his shyness and ask you for food instead of staring.
You turned to look at Killer and yes, his mask was facing you. You shook your head and continued to eat the food.
And after a bit of training with Heat and Wire, you went to the kitchen to make lunch.
You got irritated when you saw the vegetables already cut. It was the work of Killer and you couldn't do anything but to sigh. You quickly started to mix the already cut veggies with the spices.
Making the Lunch was a bit peaceful. Because during this time, Killer and Kidd used to talk about some upcoming events and handled some paperwork. Sometimes they would build machines or new types of weapons.
The dinner was again a bit difficult. You could cut the vegetables this time but, he'd come to the kitchen and ask you what you were making. Sometimes he used to read books during this time. Sometimes it felt weird if... he wasn't in the kitchen.
Just like everyday after dinner, you now sat in the kitchen alone and looked at the new recipes, thinking what to make tomorrow. And like a routine, Heat came towards the Kitchen and stared at you for a few seconds before calling you.
"Hey.. Y/N", you immediately looked at him and knew what he was about to say. So you got up and went towards the fridge.
"Can I have any leftover dessert you made today", he asked as you closed the door with the dessert in your hands.
Walking towards him you placed the food before him and sat opposite to him.
He smiled happily and took a bite of the dessert and started to eat it with delight.
Yes you loved to see people enjoy the food you make. So you always made sure to save a portion for him.
You decided to ask Heat the question you had for months.
"Heat, can I ask you something"
He swallowed the dessert in his mouth and nodded.
"So... its actually about Killer", you said. Heat curiously leaned over to listen to you.
So, actually.. i feel like he is really suspicious of whatever I do and its really bothering me", you said before closing the cook book and sitting straight.
"How can he be so suspicious even after I am here for more than 4 months. I mean, if he has any problem with me, he needs to tell me right. What should I do? ", you ended with an ask and looked at him curious eyes.
He took another bite of the dessert and started to think carefully.
Finally he answered by saying, "I am pretty sure Killer is not doubting you. Maybe its better if you ask him"
"Why do you think its not the case?"
"Well, if it was... you wouldn't be alive. Its as simple as that."
'Damn that makes perfect sense. Why didn't I think like that', you mentally facepalmed yourself.
"Y/N, I believe there is something else. Why not just ask him", he suggested taking another bite.
"Yeah... thanks", you smiled at him and leaned back into your chair as you continued, "ill do that"
But ofcourse. It wasn't that easy to ask Killer. So a few days passed and one evening, the crew reached an island.
After docking, Kidd wanted to get drunk and fight other drunkards in the bar. Thinking it was a good chance to slip out of the place. The island was beautiful and the stars started to twinkle in the sky.
You walked aimlessly in the streets, which were a bit dark but still were beautiful. You didn't have to be scared. You are strong. One of the Kidd pirates. The one who always trains with the super soldiers heat and wire.
Then a park caught your attention. Walking in it you saw a slide.
'Ha... memories', you thought as you walked towards it.
The next thing you knew was you climbing up on the slide. You were ready to slide down it then you noticed the mask staring at you. You didn't know what to do. Your mind was blocked with the embarrassment. Still you slid down. Oh my... the 2 seconds slide was definitely awkward.
Both of you were so silent and just kept staring at eachother, with a blank expression.
You swore you could see his shoulders shaking. Was he... trying to hold back his laughter?
"What is so funny?", you asked with your cheeks flushed pink.
Damn he turned to another side to avoid looking at you, while he still tried to hold his laugh.
"I.. I just felt like... playing because its been a while", you tried to explain yourself while folding your arms. Then he slowly turned to look at you.
"I... didn't ask you anything", he said folding his arms.
"Tsk... why did you come here anyway?", you asked but you didn't receive any answer. You started to walk towards the swing now. He quietly followed you a few steps behind. Well you got caught so, there is no reason to hide or sacrifice the urge to play.
You sat on the swing and looked at him slowly coming towards you.
"Killer! Push the swing up high", you asked.. more like ordered.
He stood behind you in a blink of an eye and pushed the swing forward. It had been so long since you played like this.
The cool breeze felt so good. You chuckled as soon as he pushed you a bit higher. Oh how it felt like music to his ears.
After a while you asked him to stop it. You tripped as you felt a bit dizzy after swinging for so long. Ofcourse Killer was there to make sure you didn't fall down. You tapped his shoulder and made him to sit on the swing.
"Now It's your turn", you declared.
"Woah, you don't have to", he said but you didn't care and pushed the swing forward. If Killer didn't have his mask on, you could've looked at how he blushed at your actions.
Then you suddenly thought about what Heat told you. You decided it was the correct time to ask him as it was neither awkward nor anyone interrupted you two.
"So, Killer I wanted to ask you something for a while now", you saw that Killer definitely flinched when you said it.
"Wh..what is it?", he replied trying to keep him as calm as ever.
"Do you not trust me?"
"Huh?"
"I mean, you are always in the kitchen, asking me what I was doing, what I was adding, what ingredients I was using. It feels like you don't trust me", you pushed him again but he stopped to swing, by placing his legs on the ground.
"Oh no! I do trust you. I never thought you'd misunderstand my actions", he said facing you. You gave him a confused expression for which, he turned away and sighed.
"I was... trying to help you", he mumbled.
Your cheeks turned red at his answer. Then everything made sense. The way he always tried to make you know what the crew liked. How he cut veggies and other items for you. How he made his own pasta to lessen your work.
'God damn it! Now that I think, Ofcourse he was helping me', you started to curse yourself inside.
"So... you didn't knew it", his faced down looking at the ground beneath him.
"Im sorry. Killer please forgive me", you crouched before him and looked up at his mask. 'Aww how sad he seemed now.
"I'm sorry I didn't notice that you were helping me", you said taking his hand in yours.
"Its alright. It might've been my fault. I am this weird looking mask dude. No wonder you got scared"
"No no Killer. Its not because of your mask. Its not your fault. It was my fault. You are calm and collected. You always analyse things before hand. You solve fights between the crew members. You always did help me. You were always around me and made sure I didn't feel uncomfortable. You are an amazing cook and a great partner", you ended saying it.
Well with the last part you got carried away and got real close to his mask. As if you were kissing his mask.
Oh damn. You pulled back but... you were damn fricking sure, you saw shiney light blue eyes.
"Thanks Y/N", he said getting up and as you both still held hands, he pulled you up.
He placed his other hand on your waist to make sure you had balence before letting you go. He waved to you and started to walk towards the exit.
For some reason, you felt like, you'd really miss something if you just let him go now. As if... you'd not see him like always. Your legs worked their way and now you were running behind Killer.
"Killer stop!", you said and he tuned back to look at you. You couldn't stop your legs and almost tackled him down. But he was way too strong for you to tackle him down. So now, his arms were supporting you. Again!
You almost died with embarrassment but... you had to tell him.
"I didn't hate it", you said but he didn't reply. More like he didn't even know what to reply. Or... he didnt even understand what you meant.
"I didn't hate when you helped me. Infact I... liked it. Thanks for helping me then and also from now on too. So please do stay with me", you ended the sentence with looking down at the ground. It was quiet for a while.
'The fuck... why did it sound like a-'
"Is this a confession?", he asked
Your cheeks turned red at his question.
"Ah- I... But...", you struggled to come with an answer then you noticed his shoulders shaking again.
"Idiot! Dont laugh!", you shoved him back and started to walk away.
"Hey wait. No one dared to shove me and walk away", he said and followed you. You smirked at that and continued to walk with your head up.
He then continued, "Well.... except for Kidd, when he is on his period"
This shit made you to crack up and you laughed.
"Damn Kidd would kill you", you said as you placed your hand in his and you two continued to talk. You felt so warm in your heart when you held Killers hand.
Maybe something was about to start between you two.
Meanwhile in the bar of the island.
"*Achoo* I hope I didn't catch a cold", Kidd said as he snatched a drink from another person and started to make a ruckus in the bar.
XOXOXOXO
I hope you enjoyed reading this story. I hope I made justice to my very first Killer fic. I enjoyed writing so much for Killer. He is a comfort charecter of mine after Sanji. I tried so much to get a good plot for Killer.

[warnings: cursing, mention of smoking, mention of household abuse of a teenager]
"what a plot twist you were."
—
The next day, you'd wakened with dry lungs and an even drier mouth.
It was true that smoking was bad for you—but it hadn't been as horrible as you'd thought. You'd try it again, but you couldn't see yourself becoming addicted.
Your mother wasn't home, again. You were quick to understand that she worked longer shifts now and you wouldn't see her a whole lot.
Not like you cared. Michelle never really liked you all that well. You'd probably have been dumped on the street a long time ago had your father not legally obligated to pay child support.
You'd never known him. You weren't sure if you wanted to.
She doesn't use child support for your well-being. Probably uses it to continuously feed her crippling gambling addiction and buy more pointless flowers for the apartment.
You were nervous about today. You'd never been the new girl before—and you didn't know what to expect about these kids. You doubted they were as cool as people as Larry and Sal.
You showered and put on your boyfriend jeans—which had holes in the knees, but you couldn't bother to concern yourself whether or not that conflicted with the dress code or not— and your light grey hoodie. You added a flannel on top of that which was a little too big for you. Don't forget the white sneakers which you should probably replace.
You pocketed your flip phone and slung your bag over your shoulder. Stopping in front of the mirror, you passed a hand through your hair, decided it was adequate, and walked into the kitchen. You grabbed an apple—you never really found yourself hungry in the mornings. Besides, it wasn't like your mother was around to make sure you were fed—and left the apartment.
You locked the door behind you and shoved the keys into the front pocket of your bag afterward.
You met with Sal and Larry at the foot of the front steps of the apartments, like you'd agreed the day prior. You couldn't help but feel a little nervous as you opened the door and walked down the three stairs.
"Hey!" Larry greets you first.
"Hey, Larry," you smile weakly, as you're not fully awake yet, but it still means as much as a smile you'd give him when you were awake. You turn your eyes to Sal, waving shortly. You were momentarily startled when you realized he'd already been looking at you. "Hi, Sal."
"Hey," he says your name pleasantly. "How are you feeling?"
It was sweet that he was concerned about your well-being. "Alright. My lungs hurt."
He hooked a thumb around the strap of his bag and slid it up and down. His hands were pale and veiny. His nails were painted black and the polish was chipped in a few places. "Yeah. You did a shit-ton of coughing."
You open your mouth to reply, but before you can he meets your eyes. His head is inclined slightly downward, tilted a bit. He peers at you through the shadows of the mask. Lash-fringed, blue angel eyes bore through yours.
His eyes are opalescent. It's almost as if every time you look at them they were a different shade of blue.
You're sure your gazes hadn't connected for more than 3 seconds but the feeling that spawns inside of you from that short contact is slightly jarring. You don't necessarily comprehend what is stirring in your gut and you don't have time to because Larry's speaking breaks through your reverie.
He begins to talk about the chaos the first day of school would be. You quickly forget what had happened before.
But nothing had happened. It was nothing.
When you'd arrived at school after a little bit of walking, you, Larry, and Sal received your schedules together.
"Fuck me," you murmur, mostly to yourself, as you look down at your paper. "Math is first. This always happens to me."
Larry laughs loudly. "Yeah. That does suck. Mrs. Packerton looks like a walking corpse."
Sal jerks his head upward from his schedule. "That's fucked, Larry. She's an old lady."
"I don't care. Pretty sure she's secretly evil anyway."
Sal looks as though he's done reasoning with how harshly true Larry is most of the time. He shakes his head and looks back at you. "Well, if it's any consolation—I've also got math first. So, you know. We could go together," he pauses. "If you want."
You grin. "Yeah. Sure. At least I'll know someone there."
Larry flicks his eyes between the both of you before stopping them on Sal. "Hopefully you won't have Travis again," His eyebrows twitch. "He always has math first."
"Travis?" You echo curiously.
The two boys exchange a glance.
"Just a guy we know who-" Sal starts, hurrying to finish the sentence.
He was rushing so Larry wouldn't cut in and say something but it happened before he even had a chance. "He's a little fucker we know who gives Sal shit. 24/7. He makes my blood boil."
You furrow your eyebrows. "What- why? What's wrong with him?"
"Nothing," Sal replies. "Pretty sure he's really troubled. Not unlike the rest of us."
"Doesn't mean he should take it out on other people." Larry scoffs. "I know it bothers you, dude."
Sal doesn't reply—seems as though he's growing uncomfortable speaking about all of it.
"Hey, guys!"
A voice calls, having grown closer halfway through her sentence. You all turn towards it. A girl, leggy and taller than both you and Sal, with long locks and eyes greener than a spring clover. There was something homey in the way her chocolate brown hair brought warmth to her features.
A boy is beside her, with ginger hair with eyes a deep shade of the richest earth. His skin is pale and freckled. He carries himself with an air of bluntness and just a little bit awkwardly—his facial expression is very blank, you note.
"Hey, Ash. Shocked you aren't late," Larry grins.
"Ash" rolls her eyes at him and mirrors his expression. "You know Todd would never let that happen."
"No, I wouldn't." Todd deadpans.
Ash turns toward you after laughing enough to flash the white gleam of her teeth and a slight dimple in her cheek. "Hey!" She then says your name prettily and juts out her hand. "Nice to meet you. I'm Ashley."
You don't ask her how she knows your name. Instead, you sincerely smile, take her hand and shake it. "Nice to meet you," you return, and then turn toward Todd. "You, too."
Todd is already an interesting character. He doesn't smile but his expression is cordial. "Welcome to Nockfell."
Your smile widens.
"Have you guys gotten your schedules yet?" Sal speaks up after having been quiet for a moment. He must've been reading over his schedule to himself.
"Oh! Yeah," Ashley opened her other hand, the one she hadn't shaken your hand with, and unfolded a now very crumpled piece of paper. She passed summer green over the list. "I've got biology."
Todd didn't even look at his list. "I have history."
Sal looks at you. His gaze easily levels with yours. "Looks like it's just me and you then."
Your face feels hot. "Haha," you suddenly feel nervous. "You're right. Sit beside me, okay?"
His eyebrows jump—that much you can tell by the way his eyes move. Tucking a strand of loose blue hair behind his ear, he replies: "Will do."
His ears are double pierced.
The bell's shrill ringing floods the halls. You wince, and you and Sal's eye contact is broken. Before that happens, though, you see Larry grinning to himself.
Weirdo, you think lightheartedly.
Everyone parts after that. Larry and Ash walk away together. They must both have biology, you thought. Todd leaves by himself to his respective class and you and Sal head towards math.
For a moment, the silence is unbearable. You've never been alone with a boy. Well, you weren't alone, just not in a group with other people. The noiselessness begins to bother you so you fleetingly think of something to say and blurt the first thing that comes to mind.
"The piercings," you say suddenly.
He turns his head toward you. You look up to him before looking straight. "What?"
Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god, you thought. All I do is make a mockery of myself.
"I like them!" you add, hurriedly. "They're pierced twice. That's really cool. Looks good on you."
He laughs shyly. "Thanks. I like your shoes."
"My shoes?" You look down and laugh. They were so worn. "Why?" You continue to giggle. "They're falling apart at the seams, haha."
"That's the best kind of shoe," he retorts. He jerks his chin towards his sneakers, a muted shade of cornflower blue. "Look at mine. They barely fit and they're- like, super constricting. Also super ratty—but I can't seem to get rid of them."
You laugh with him. "They look better than mine, at least."
You're glad the ice was broken so fast. You liked him.
The class was boring and uninteresting as any math class would be. You do work. You glance over at Sal a few times throughout the class—not to cheat, just to see how he was fairing—and he was writing answers down with a quick response time and humble confidence within the drawl of his handwriting.
Alright, so he was smart. Not much of a surprise there. You could tell just how perceptive of a boy he was.
You stared hopelessly at an answer on your sheet you'd yet to fill out and twirled the pencil around in your fingers.
Suddenly, a pale hand with black nails has nimbly reached over and hastily circled what you assume was the correct answer to the question with his pencil. You look up to Sal in surprise and appreciation, who's already back in his seat as if nothing had happened.
You giggle before you can stop yourself when he raises a hand and raises a finger in front of the prosthetic's mouth, to tell you "shh."
Mrs. Packerton slowly pivots away from the chalkboard and passes her eyes over the class. You and Sal quickly break eye contact and look down on your papers. Sal's shoulders shake in your peripheral vision and you press your knuckles to your lips and force a bored expression on your paper.
Before the bell rang, you noticed a blond boy with tan skin and caramel eyes in front of you and Sal, occasionally shooting your friend bitter looks. It left a sour taste in your mouth, but you didn't mention it.
You find Ash and Larry before your next class. You think you've burst a blood vessel from how hard you'd laughed when you left the classroom.
"I thought I'd cracked a rib," Sal states over your laughter. as you walked up to Larry and Ashley.
Larry and Ashley exchange a look. Larry is the first to state the obvious. "What the hell happened to you two?"
You and Sal look toward each other and make eye contact. That's the last straw. You cover your mouth and try and hold it in.
"I-" Sal inhales. "It doesn't matter," he breathes out, an amused lilt in his tone. "How was class?"
"Bad," Larry and Ashley reply, in synchronization.
"Really?" You ask, surprised. "Biology can be fun."
"This biology isn't," Ashley sighs. "Not when you're just staring at cells and organisms for 20 minutes and then being expected to do work on it and understand what's happening."
"Well, math wasn't any better," you reply. "If it's any consolation—I don't think I got any answers right except for the one Sal did for me."
"I thought math was fine," Sal chimes in.
"That's because you're fucking Albert Einstein reincarnate," Larry squints. "Please have mercy on our mortal souls, Math God."
"Oh my god," Sal looks down. "Please don't make this into another nickname."
"I like it!" Ashley grins.
You know they're teasing but you can't find it in you to join in after he helped you out in class. Instead, you resign into silence and watch as countless students filter through the halls, bumping into each other as they pass and chatting with their peers.
Through the crowd, at the far end of the hall, you see him. The blond boy who'd been eying Sal in class. He was looking at him in the same way he had been then, with threat and resent shadowing his polished amber eyes.
It looks as if he's readying himself to approach.
You glance toward Larry, Sal, and Ashley. They seem occupied well enough, so you slip into the crowd and head towards who you've now pieced together to be: "Travis," you state, as you stand in front of him. "That's you, right?"
He regards you with distaste. "Do I know you?"
You suck your teeth. "No," you tell him your name. "I came to ask you something."
Despite himself and his embitterment, his eyes shine with hesitant curiosity. You take that as your answer. In spite of his stance over you and his general advantage of being bigger, you hold his gaze with blunt intent.
"What were you planning on doing when you walked over?"
"Why do you fucking care what I do?"
You shrug. "I don't know, Travis. I just think you need to learn how to pick your battles."
"Pick my fucking battles.. you know what? I think I will go over there-"
As he takes a step forward, you raise your hand and your palm roughly hits his chest, stopping him in his tracks—not because of strength (he's at an advantage, and he could easily walk right through) but because of the views he had, or rather—the views pushed upon him.
You saw the golden cross swinging off of his neck as soon as you approached. You'd also seen the gnarly black eye he wore on his face.
It was safe to assume he was being beaten at home and by a parent. And, most of the time.. when an adult is religious they will use several methods to further push it upon their child. Like sinner's guilt. And abuse.
If Travis' extremely religious guardian were to ever find out he'd harmed a girl, especially under the eyes of many others—it wouldn't turn out very well for him.
Yes, maybe you were being manipulative. But you were being manipulative for the good of both Sal and Travis.
"Step down," you advised. "This won't go very well."
You steadily meet his eyes. The stare between the two of you lasts for an even amount of time. Finally, he breaks that contact, jerks away with you, huffs, and walks his way around you and down the hall.
After that, you returned with the excuse of exchanging books from your locker, after Larry had asked you where you had wandered off to. No one seemed to have noticed Travis standing ominously at the end of the hall or your altercation with him.
At the end of school, you were beat. You said goodbye to both Ashley and Todd. Afterward, you, Larry, and Sal head for Addison's Apartments.
"You know, we don't have to go home yet," you say.
The boys turn to you curiously, as you kick a pebble as you walk along the side of the road. The beginnings of the sunset blossom in the sky—orange and fruity like tangerine jelly and amaranth pink like homemade strawberry frosting. like home. It fills you up inside and makes you feel so sweet.
"You guys wanna see a movie?"
Larry grins. "We don't have money."
"Who says we need money?"
When you'd arrived at the movie theater, all three of you had circled to the side exit. After a few moments of waiting suspiciously, an older couple exited through the doors. Larry caught the handle before it closed, and you brushed past them and quickly entered the theater. Before the doors closed, you heard them mumbling about "pesky children," or something.
Once you'd gotten in, you scanned each screening room and what movie the doors said it was playing.
You and Sal decided on a scary movie. Larry was not amused. Whatsoever. Apparently, horror is not his thing.
Before you entered, you frowned.
"We have no popcorn.."
In moments, Larry was reaching into a nearby trash can and pulling out an empty bucket that improbably had popcorn inside of it at some point in time. He then walked away, holding this empty popcorn bucket. It was so bizarre and you would have laughed had not been extremely confused.
"What.." Sal murmured, looking to you. "You think he'll come back?"
"I don't know where he would even be coming back from," You admitted.
It wasn't very long until he'd returned, with the empty bucket he'd taken from the trash now full of popcorn.
"Mandatory free refills," He said to your baffled face, pointing toward the poster on the wall above the trash can which read exactly what he'd just said. "You can never forget the hustle, kids."
"Oh my god," Sal mumbled and you barely heard him beneath Larry's laughter.
The movie was horribly made, and it still somehow scared the shit out of Larry. It may as well have been a comedy with how hard you'd laughed. Multiple other people in the theater had told you to shut Larry up but that was impossible when he was screaming every time a shadow would come on screen or the scene would change.
You, being between Larry and Sal, originally thought you'd had the best seat. You were wrong. Not only was Larry cowering into you and screaming directly in your ear, but Sal had simultaneously begun to throw popcorn at Larry's face to shut him up. That only resulted in popcorn. All over.
Needless to say, you left before the movie ended because of the fear of being escorted out by the employees.
"I'm never seeing a movie with you again," Sal squinted towards Larry. The three of you were now on the way back to the apartments. The night was thick and pearly moonlight bounced off old the white of his prosthetic face. "I think my eardrums are bleeding."
"It's the horror movies! This isn't my fault. Both of you ganged up on me and chose it."
You giggled to yourself.
Sal, beside you, suddenly stopped. "Wait, Y/N."
You stopped, and Larry halted a few feet away, as he'd been walking a bit ahead. Sal leaned forward and reached toward your face. Your body felt as though it had been zapped and you stood still.
He reached into your hair and pulled out a piece of popcorn.
"Huh." You said, dumbly. "How'd that get there?"
Larry's approaching footsteps were fast and leggy. He reached into Sal's hand, plucked the piece of popcorn between his fingers and fucking ate it.
"Jesus Christ, I can't do this anymore," Sal shook his head.
"What? It looked okay."
Recovering quickly from whatever had happened to you, you laughed.
You also inwardly denied what your body was feeling because you knew it was much too soon.

Hi!!
Villain’s lover finding out that villain is a villain?
You did something like this before and I really liked it lol
<3
Hiya! I definitely don’t remember doing something like this (maybe the love potion/spell story?), but I’d be happy to write this haha.
******
Pacing in the kitchen, Lover bit her nails until her teeth met skin. A few fingertips bled and even then, she continued to chow down on the dead skin surrounding her short nails. She didn’t know what else to do with her hands; they were shaking, and they wouldn’t stop.
The news still played in the background. Lover considered time and time again to turn it off, but she couldn’t because moving on would be easier if she turned it off. This wasn’t something to be ignored. Not at all. But at the same time, when she deliberately thought of it, she nearly ripped her hair out.
Where was she supposed to go? She couldn’t just up and leave, could she? That was a mean thing to do and her- her husband was…Lover looked at the tv again. The same image was on the screen- blurred from a clip of action, but no less recognizable. The masked villain- now unmasked for the first time ever- was, without a doubt, Lover’s significant other. What would he do to her if she left?
But she was running out of time. She didn’t know that for sure, but if she were a villain- or hero, or anyone who needed to hide her identity- and her face was realized, she would haul ass back home, or- or anywhere where she wouldn’t be known. So, maybe Villain wouldn’t come home at all. Maybe her internal conflict was pointless for this very time being, but…if he did come home and she wasn’t gone, she’d be trapped. And if he did come home and she was gone, she’d be likely hunted. Right? Isn’t that what happened in the movies? Or books? Or…well, Lover hadn’t really seen this scenario if she was honest.
Lover liked to watch the ditzy princess movies. She even had a magazine subscription to “Royals Suggest…”, a collection of fashion statement clothing worn by royalty around the world, all too expensive for Lover to ever buy, but she enjoyed looking. This. This is what Lover knew; a bunch of too-expensive designer clothing brand names. She didn’t know what to do when her husband was a madman who destroyed cities just to listen to their screams. Or what to do when-
A door clicked open and Lover’s eyes went wide. She let her bloodied fingers drop to her sides, then thought better of it and hid them behind her back. Maybe she should have grabbed a knife.
Listening intently now, Lover heard her partner’s footsteps tread through the house. He was in the living room, she could tell, and she suddenly felt very sorry for herself for having not turned the television off earlier. She squeezed her eyes shut and sunk to the cold, tiled floor quietly. Behind the island counter, Lover hoped she wouldn’t be found. Villain would have no reason to come into the kitchen- not yet at least. He always took his bag- that’s where his suit and mask must have been all along, dammit- to their bedroom after greeting Lover.
What if he didn’t go to his bedroom before trying to find Lover? She’d be found easily. Their house wasn’t enormous- not necessarily small, but Villain wouldn’t have to wander around forever. What was she even planning on doing, though? Lover’s mind was so panicked at this point that she only wanted to hide forever.
Wouldn’t that be a trip- for her to hide in her own house forever without Villain knowing and chasing her around city to city? Lover sighed, shaking her head. If she did that- or if she left at all, Villain would destroy even more just to find her. Then it wouldn’t be Villain’s fault, it would be hers. A villain’s accomplice, even if she hadn’t meant for him to respond that way.
So, what did she do, then? Self-sacrifice? Live with Villain, despite knowing who and what he was- what he was. What he is. He’s capable of so much- just to preserve everyone else? Lover couldn’t be with this man, but she couldn’t let anyone be harmed because she decided to run away.
“Lover? What are you doing on the floor? And with the lights off?”
Lover gasped, putting a hand to her even-more-rapidly beating heart. She sighed, setting herself into a calmer mindset- if that was even possible. “I- my head was hurting.” A loud bang resonated from the television- from the news, where they were still talking about Villain, but she pretended she wasn’t listening. “Actually, will you…turn the tv off? I was going to when I went back to the living room, but” -she shrugged on the floor- “I didn’t exactly make it back. It was playing-”
“Sh, sh, sh. You’ll give yourself a bigger headache if you don’t stop talking.” Villain chuckled, and began walking to the living room, but not before he bent down and planted a kiss on Lover’s forehead.
He didn’t buy it. There was no way he bought her act.
Wincing as she heard Villain hum in the living room, she watched as he passed back through the kitchen into the hall which led to their room. Lover picked herself back up off the floor and opened the fridge, pulling out a bag of whole carrots. Next, she grabbed a cutting board and a knife. She began chopping.
When Villain walked back in, she asked, “How was work today?” Lover asked this every day, but this was the first time she ever swallowed after asking. Chop, chop, chop, chop.
“It was an exhausting day, but- let me do this for you. You have a headache. I don’t want you to chop your fingers off by accident.”
“No, it’s fine. I got it.” Chop, chop, ch-
He grabbed her wrist lightly then plucked the knife from her hands. Villain nodded forward, telling her to sit on one of the barstools opposite of him. Lover felt she had no choice; she did as she suggested, even if it hadn’t been in a villainous way.
“Work was tiring. Some idiot decided to hack one of our major programs. Wasn’t as secure as we thought, so tonight I’ll have to do some repairs, and tomorrow…I’ll just have to trace the hack back to the original device and shut it down, so it doesn’t happen again.”
What he meant, Lover thought, was this; Hero managed to steal the mask off my face today in front of a hundred reporters and now everyone knows who I am, so tonight I’m going to fix my mask- just to poke the bear- and I’m going to find Hero so I can kill them. She wanted the knife back.
“How long has your head been hurting?” The question was so innocent, but Lover knew- God, she just knew what he was getting at. The news had been on when he came home. He knew she saw and now he was playing with her.
Lover blinked, and then blinked again. Lie, she thought to herself, but she couldn’t think of a number. “I don’t know.”
“That bad, huh?”
She nodded slightly as she played with her fingers beneath the table. Her fingertips were so incredibly raw from her chewing at them in all her nervousness, but touching the sensitive spots was the only thing keeping her together. The tiny tinges of pain were grounding her.
“Did they report about the hack on the news?”
Her chest tightened. “I- I don’t know.” A sharp inhale and a thumb gesturing to the blank television. “I was watching Flintstones when I got the headache. I- uh- I stopped paying attention.” Lover looked down at her fingers before looking up again. “Do you remember the dino’s name from the show?”
Still chopping the vegetables, Villain said, “I don’t.” Chop. Chop. “I thought Flintstones played on a different channel? Weird, that it came on before the news.”
“Guess it was a special.”
Villain smiled at Lover and laid the knife down, bending so that both of his elbows touched the table. “I wonder if this happened to Hero when I ripped their mask off a month ago.”
Lover tried to control her reaction- she did. Despite her effort, her eyes widened, and she remembered to squint instead. “What do you mean?” A false and singular laugh. “Did you have a silly dream last night?” She gave a smile, a loving one, a teasing one.
Continuing like Lover hadn’t spoken at all, he said, “I’m sure there were many hugs involved. Maybe even kissing. Everyone loves a hero, right?”
“Whoever fights him clearly doesn’t,” Lover tried. Maybe if she referred to the situation from a third person perspective then he would drop it. She was an observer of the media, and she had a headache when it was on today. That was all.
“Maybe I should be happy you’re pretending not to know, but then that would just be ignorant, wouldn’t it be?”
“Villain, I don’t know what you’re talking about. Are…Are you feeling okay? Maybe you should take a nap.” She didn’t want to, but Lover reached across the island counter and intertwined her fingers with Villain’s as they were lain on the table. “You said it was a rough day at work. A nap is always a nice stress reliever.”
He hummed in return, just like he did when he turned the tv off. Lover had thought asking him to do that was such a brilliant idea- thought it proved she was paying no attention to it. “You had a headache you couldn’t even stand from, but the moment I walked away from you, you found an excuse to start chopping carrots.” His fingers flexed- barely- as he said the word ‘chopping’. If anyone had been watching the interaction, they wouldn’t have even noticed the way his grip became tighter.
Lover told him, “It was no excuse. I always make dinner when you come home- even through a headache.” She smiled at him again. How long could she keep this up? How long until he accepted she was telling the truth?
“Come here. I’m going to show you something.”
“But the carr-”
“The carrots will be fine.”
Villain pulled her along through the kitchen and the hall until they walked into their bedroom. Lover could feel her heart throbbing against her chest. She already knew what he was doing. He was making it so that she couldn’t deny what she already knew anymore; Villain was a villain.
“You can sit on the bed while I grab it.”
There was no way out of this. Maybe she should have insisted she stayed in the kitchen while he grabbed his bag, but he wouldn’t have fallen for that. He would have known what she was up to, even if she didn’t.
Lover remained in the doorway of their bedroom, feeling safer there than in the bedroom where there was no hall to run down as an escape. “If I sit on the bed, I might fall asleep in it,” she said to Villain with a tiny chuckle.
“Naps are always a nice stress reliever.” She didn’t like how he threw her own words back at her.
Maybe she should just admit what she knew. Maybe if she did, this wouldn’t be so prolonged and drawn out. If she admitted it, she could stop wondering what he would do to her.
With a deep breath, she began, “I-” but what to say? Lover nearly told him she wanted this relationship they had to be normal, that she just wanted to go back to being a regular, human, husband and wife. This wasn’t what she wanted, though. She wanted to be rid of him. “I saw the news, if that’s what you want to hear.” Her head ducked down as Villain dropped the bag and walked towards her in the doorway.
His hand touched beneath her chin and she sucked in a broken breath. Villain tilted her head up gently. “It wasn’t so hard to admit, was it? Tell me why you were so scared to tell me.”
Shaking her head and squeezing her eyes shut, she reached up towards the hand on her chin, wanting to push it away. Villain caught her wrist with his free hand. She didn’t use her own free hand to try again. His touch was gentle, but Lover knew what it- what he- was capable of. He could crush her. Easily.
“Why couldn’t you admit it?”
“Don’t,” She gasped because of her panicked lungs. “Don’t make me say. You know the answer.” Because she was scared. Because everything was up in the air, now, unpredictable. He was unpredictable. What if he tried to kill her?
Villain’s head tilted and he stared into his lover’s eyes. “You aren’t the only one who knows. You aren’t the only one to watch the news. It would be foolish of me to act against you because then I’d have to do the same to everyone else, too. Exhausting.” His hand left Lover’s chin and went to her hair. He pushed a strand of hair behind her ear and sighed. “Not to mention, I do love you. You know that, right?”
She shook her head again. “You can’t.”
“Why not?”
“Because- because you- you’re…” He was a monster, but she couldn’t say that, not so blatantly.
Taking a deep breath, Villain smirked- not deviously, but intriguingly. “I haven’t the opportunity to use this yet.”
“W-what?” Lover’s breaths picked up speed, and she didn’t feel as terrified as she used her free hand to push Villain away. “Use what?” What else could he do? On television, he could fly, and he was strong, but that- that was it! There was nothing else. “Stay away. Stay away from me, Villain. Please.” She kept her head at a downward angle, not wanting to face him- never wanting to face him ever again.
Villain was perfectly calm as he took a step towards her, forcing her back into the wall of the hall. She had no room to run. “Look at me, Lover. Just look at me, okay?”
“No. No, why?” Her hands were pressed, fingers flayed against the wall behind her.
“Because,” he said, and placed a hand on her cheek. She flinched, but what he said next made her stupidly look up. “I want you to see how much I love you. Eyes are windows to the soul, aren’t they? Just look at me, the way you did the day of our wedding.”
‘Eyes are windows to the soul.’
Yes, they certainly were.
Lover blinked, her eyes falling to Villain’s nose- a button nose, one that made her smile. She bopped it with a finger as she always did. “You’re home,” she said to Villain. “How was work?”

S i e b e n S i n n e (Seven Senses) III
⋆ pairing: catking!san x reader (x human!woo young)
⋆ genre: yandere au, fantasy au, suggestive
⋆ trigger warnings ⚠️ strong language, yanderish behaviour, possessiveness, violence
⋆ words: 3,500
a/n: last part of this journey, don’t forget San is more like a soft yandere... I know some of you won’t be happy with the ending but it was too much fun haha
part I part II part III
⋆ „But I won’t ever be able to turn into a human again.“
─────────────────────
You definitely felt more energy while being in the body of a real cat but also the castle seemed to be much more distant now. You didn’t even know how to turn back into the other form so you just ran until the walls came into your view that shielded the gardens of the castle from outside.
It was very easy to just jump up and use your claws to get steady on the surface. Being a cat was indeed fun but you wouldn’t want to get used to it.
Emerging the building you were confused on how to enter it because all the doors seemed to be locked. After a little while of not knowing what to do you decide to descend some balconies and stop in front of a large room where a big desk was set.
Was this San‘s workspace?
A meow escapes you without knowing when you see a chair turning and San looks outside only to see you leaning against one of the big windows with your paws.
He frowns and stands up to open the window to sniff the air. „(y/n)?“ You try to shy away from him but he’s quicker to take you into his arms and press you against his chest while closing the window again. He sits down on his chair and places you on his lap to look at you with heartily eyes.
„I should be angry that Hong Joong came back here without you but I see you seem to have a little problem there...“ You purr at the feeling of him caressing your (y/h/c) colored fur with pleasurable motions.
„You can still talk you know?“
You lick your paws out of instinct and shriek a little bit when you feel something itching in San‘s lap. Jumping on to his desk you sit down in front of him muttering. „It happened when I wanted to go into the shop and now... I don’t know how to turn back.“
This makes the cat king laugh out loud and he bops your little cat nose. „It’s ok. I was afraid something happened to you...“ His eyes are full with worry but it vanishes as quickly when he stands up to take you into his arms again. He kneels down and with a small push he rolls you over and you feel yourself changing back.
You lay on the ground your tail swinging quickly while you examine your body. „Oh, thanks!“ You smile at him and he hums at you.
„I hope you had a nice day anyway. After this the next time you get out of this castle I will be the one on your side.“ Worry takes over your features and you are afraid he would do something to Hong Joong for not being careful enough.
„Don’t worry. Hong Joong is one of my dearest friends. If something happened however...“
There was nothing you could do now then wait. And you did until the day you woke up and knew soon you would be free again. Hopefully everything would go smoothly today.
Woo Young didn’t know how long he layed in the grass of the wide meadow he woke up but he was sure there wasn’t much time left when he saw the hectic pace of the towns people and the carriages that passed him.
Disoriented he literally lived the past days like a stray tomcat looking for you in all places. It was only when he emerged an older woman with gray cat ears that he decided to ask what the ruckus was about.
„Oh boy where do you even live? Today’s the wedding of our king choi and his beloved (y/n)!“ She smiles and gives him a flower after leaving the boy standing there dumbfounded.
„Oh my god...“ You were in the palace.
He demonized the mask seller for not telling him this important information and started to follow the way of the carriages like a maniac.
Standing in front of the big gate guards were quick to push him back when he tried to casually walk inside the royal grounds.
„No trespassing for uninvited!“
He waited a second after another cat bowed down in front of the guards to tell them he was late for the kitchen help. It was pretty obvious when he imitated this action to them earning him a questioning look by the guard.
„I am here for the kitchen help!“
„Sir Min Gi! The chef is asking where all the servants are!“ Min Gi debates with himself for a second when he utters something and points for Woo Young to enter.
„Today everything has to be perfect. Men, get back to work and you, tell the chef there’s help coming.“
Everywhere he can hear cheering and laughter while the castle is in full festival mood. He wanders around trying to find a tip for your location and comes to a halt when two equally rich clothed people pass him in a hallway. He quickly looks to the ground bowing but not misses the gaze of the man with the black ears and tail.
Woo Young mirrors the glare with a bad feeling not knowing who this person was or why he could swear he smirked after he saw the boy.
He continues his way through the corridors and just when he swears he saw a white fabric a servant stops him. „You! We have to get ready and why do still not wear your clothes?“
„I ehm ...“ He stutters and the man rolls with his eyes annoyed. He turns Woo Young around and pushes him into another direction ranting about how everything is messed up now and that they should better hurry up.
With all the guards and servants around having an eye on everything he gives up to look for you. He has to get you when the ceremony starts.
You find yourself in front of a mirror all dolled up the necklace on your neck feeling like it’s suffocating you. A sigh escapes your shaking lips when Ye Ri comes in to announce that it’s time for you. Joy is busy picking on your gown and hair to make sure everything looks perfect while you are praying every second your plan works.
Soon you would be back to your own world. Living with your mom and going back to school. Seeing Jang Mi ranting about you and having Woo Young to annoy you every chance he gets. You stick to the memories like they could vanish out of your head any moment.
And then the door opens and you’re getting outside into the big gardens where the ceremony is being held. Music starts to play and you can see all the guests turning their heads to your direction where you try to not faint.
Everything is decorated like you would want it to at your imagination of a perfect wedding. The guests look mostly rich and their ears twitch in excitement at the arrival of the bride. Turning your attention back to the end of the path where he is standing.
San looks devilishly handsome. He gasps when he sees you and you also forget to move for a moment. So much beauty wasted on a man like him.
Cat. He’s a cat. Don’t forget that.
Making your way to the podest where he’s standing you hear the little remarks some of the guest make and start to feel insecure.
„She’s so beautiful! Look at her ears and tail I bet she has the prettiest fur...“
„And to be this lucky! King Choi looks breathtaking like always!“
San takes your hand in his when you shyly look up to him. His tail is swinging agitated from side to side tingling with yours occasionally.
From the outside you two probably had to look like the perfect match but you knew how cruel the king could be. The pastor finally starts his speech while San doesn’t take his eyes off you any second.
You on the other hand focus your gaze on his tie mind really blank the whole time. Only when you’re asked to answer you look up to him seeing his shining orbs and suddenly the man announces you to cats in marriage with the guest awaitening the magic kiss.
San carefully takes your hands in his and looks at you promising. Then he leans down and his lips collide with yours in a sensual way leaving you no option to kiss him back. He feels soft and his tongue provokes to claim your mouth with a longing force. He embraces your waist and kisses you for god knows how long leaving you with a bubbly feeling in the stomach that doesn’t feel as bad as you would’ve guessed. Everyone‘s clapping and San smiles and waves at the guests feeling the happiest he ever did.
The party is in full swing when suddenly the big doors to the hall open and servants bring in the wedding cake with spray fountains on the top. You gasp at the size but freeze in your spot next to the king when you see a face you nearly forgot.
You’re trembling and about to stand up when you feel San‘s eyes locked on your form. „Are you ok, my queen?“
Slowly you turn to him and put on a fake smile to not gain any more attention. He smirks and leans down to whisper in your ear. „I am as much nervous because of the wedding night as you are. I have a surprise for you by the way...“
You frown at him and quickly lock your eyes back on your friend. Woo Young‘s ears twitch still not used to the loud noises and he nearly doubles over when seeing you next to the king.
Anger is building up inside of him but you mouth him to wait. You don’t know why and how he managed to get to you but the love you had for him just sparked again and left you with a warm feeling.
He came here. To rescue you!
Woo Young is quickly out of your eyes knowing you have to get to the kitchen to meet him while San leads you to the cake and of course his hand is over yours when he feeds you a piece of it.
Guest after guest scurries to you and the king to make conversation and congratulate you. The people were nice and you didn’t have a problem to talk feely with them much to San‘s goodwill.
Music starts to play and you and San dance to the first song. It would probably feel very romantic if your thoughts wouldn’t be with Woo Young every second and you fear that San recognizes your change in behavior.
After that the party really starts and cats are storming the dance floor.
You realize the time has come to get out of here. You dismiss yourself with a lie to use the restroom and go straight to the cabin in the bathroom where you hid other clothes.
You put on the uniform of the servants and look from left to right before you leave into the hallway. Walking to the kitchen with quick steps you’re trying to look busy while finding Woo Young. Tears are flowing down your cheeks when you see the boy looking out of the window his tail in between his fingers playing with it.
You stand next to him poking him on the side to gain his attention and quickly usher him to stop when he whisper-yells your name and tries to hug you.
„Listen, I have a plan to get out of here but we have to go now.“
„Alright.“ He takes your hand in his and holds it so desperately fearing he would lose you again if he let go. „I just missed you so much. I was so afraid, (y/n).“
„I missed you, too. I cannot put into words how thankful I am that you came here to save me.“ You both smile at eachother and you hurry to make him follow you out of the castle.
You both run like wolves chased you and so often turned around to see if someone followed you. Much to your disbelief no one seemed to recognize your absense meaning you really could have a chance.
The place where you met the mask seller moves closer any second and your heartbeat doesn’t seem to slow down. Sweat is forming on yours and Woo Young‘s forehead when you stop in your tracks to look around desperately.
„Are you awaitening someone?“ He talks between taking deep breaths.
„Yes. Someone who helped me and someone who will get us out of here.“
After a minute you suddenly hear foot steps in the distance and because it already got pretty dark outside you only recognize him when he’s embracing you.
„Yeo Sang!“
„We have to hurry up! I’ve seen San and some guards searching up the castle for you (y/n)! And who’s this?“
„This is my friend, Woo Young.“ You smile shyly and Yeo Sang nods understanding your relationship when the boy takes your hand in his.
The three of your run as fast as you can again into the direction of the portal passing the town, villages and forests until you can hear a slight buzzing.
„Here!“ Your gaze drifts not only to Woo Young but Yeo Sang, too, seeing the relief in their eyes being so close to be free and out of this world.
For Woo Young it is only important to have you on his side again so he takes your hand and motions for Yeo Sang to get the fuck out of here.
„Yeo Sang, you first!“ Yeo Sang nods at you and a tear rolls down his cheek.
„Thank you for everything, (y/n).“ He gets through the portal and your heart skips a beat.
He’s finally free...
You watch Woo Young in awe and with desperation in both your eyes you make confident steps to the portal. Just when you walk into the light something seems to pull you back and you realize it’s Woo Young who doesn’t seem to be able to walk through the portal.
You tumble back and frown becoming nervous. „What is going on? Why aren’t we able to go?“ You ask in desperation watching the boy shake his head while the moon illuminates the scene in a mysterious light.
„I didn’t know what it meant... but I guess that’s the price.“
„What the hell are you talking about?“
„This guy. He told me I had to pay later for it.“
„Woo Young. How were you able to come here?“
The glare he gives you tells you more than he could explain now. You had a problem. A big problem.
„We have to find this motherfucker and - “
„Ouch, your choice of words is hurting me.“ Suddenly Seong Hwa steps out of the dark of the trees and sends the two of you an intriguing smirk.
„You knew he was here! You knew it all along! Why didn’t you tell me?“
You’re angered and Woo Young tries to hold you back ashamed he got tricked so easily.
„You didn’t ask, little cat.“ A few seconds pass by with you letting out a hiss ready to attack if needed.
„Okay, you promised me you would help us. Now do whatever so he can leave this place.“
Seong Hwa chuckles lowly and raises his eyebrows at your words. „I can do that. But there’s a price for it.“
„Wh- what?! Are you nuts?“
„Listen, I am a merchant. I serve the one who pays the most... so tell me can you give me something that is more precious than what the other bidder gives me?“
„What other bidder?“ You grit your teeth at his words and don’t notice your hands turn into little fists.
„Your journey finally ends here, my wife.“
A dozen guards step out of the shadow all lead by the one you were running from - King Choi San himself.
You take a step back letting go of Woo Young‘s hand out of pure shock. „How? That’s not possible!“
San sends you the angriest look he had and grimaces at your reaction. „This is my kingdom after all. Nothing happens without my consent.“
He just states impassively and motions for his guards to get you.
„Stop! Seong Hwa, whatever he gives you I will double it! I will give you everything!“
He shakes his head and sighs. „I am afraid you won’t be able to give me more because... I already got everything I wanted thanks to the king and you, too.“
You’re feeling dizzy because of the situation and start to cry when Woo Young turns to you looking as lost as yourself.
„You loose. Your plan was actually a good one but you didn’t have a chance in the beginning, (y/n).“
„(y/n), he won’t have you. Go through the portal and leave me here.“
The guards and San get into position at Woo Young‘s words being prepared to stop you any second from leaving this world and becoming a human again.
„If you go I will torture and kill him in the cruelest way.“ San‘s orbs turn darker than you ever saw it and his words shake your bones. He doesn’t play around you know that. And in this moment you know exactly what to do.
Not what you want to do but... what is the right decision.
„I won’t go. I want to talk to the mask seller for a second.“
San and Seong Hwa share a quick look and the cat king smiles at you nodding afterwards.
Woo Young takes a few steps to the portal searching your face for answer his question what you’re planning. You dismiss him with an assuring smile and wait until Seong Hwa is in front of you.
„Did you already take his soul?“
„Not yet. I still have his human mask with me.“
You debate for a moment not knowing if he would agree with it. „If he stays here San is going to kill him. If I stay here I will still be the queen and his wife.“
„That’s right.“
„But I won’t ever be able to turn into a human again.“
„Yep.“ He grins at you from ear to ear already knowing what you’re up to.
„Mask seller, please give him back his human mask. I will stay here and you... you can have my human soul.“ He raises one eyebrow searching your face.
„You know you will never see him again right? He might never give you up...“
You’re crying again at the thoughts and bite your lips. „I want him to be happy. Can you make him forget about his feelings for me and everything that happened here?“
„I can do that.“ With a swift move of his index you can feel the mask appearing in your hand.
You nod at him and turn around to get to Woo Young Seong Hwa quickly in your tracks to make sure you don’t do anything funny.
„What’s going on, (y/n)?“ You surprise him with a desperate kiss. San only huffs in the background not forgetting about the wedding night he still has with you and where he would let out all the anger he has in himself right now.
He reluctantly pulls away still in the bliss of the kiss when you mouth to him ,I love you‘. He frowns and yells out when you crash the mask on his face and push him into the portal.
The last thing Woo Young sees is your smile and then his world turns dark.
San‘s eyes were focused on you the whole time. It felt like if he looked away for only a mere second you would vanish. He could never allow that. No one could take you from him. You were his.
„S-san, please, I need you to touch me.“
A breathles chuckle leaves the king at your neediness. The bliss of the still lingering marks on your skin ignite a fire in him he didn’t know before. A feeling of passion and desire; but also something darker… possession.
He had you on his mercy. His fingers slowly leaving trails down your spine until they landed on the curve of your waist. Your eyes were closed so you felt the tingle of the king‘s finger tips only more.
„Sleep my little kitten. You’ll always be safe with me…“
If you weren’t so lulled in his words and touches you would’ve known that his innocent smile hides something you should more than fear.
But you gave yourself to him and there was no turning back.

20th: you meet oikawa in a coffee shop.
- maybe it’s fate. maybe it’s a cute meet. maybe i’m just writing whatever floats into my mind HAHA
no. of words: 2.4k +
ruhevuevhbefhiewf well. this. i hope you like this. i was just VOMITING OUT WORDS. I HOPE THIS MADE SENSE. ILY
oikawa knows you as the girl that always comes in every saturday morning.
the first time he sees you, he forgets how to breathe.
he’s busy typing up a report on his computer, a vanilla latte beside him, when he hears the doorbell jingle, and feels the hot air rush into the shop. he looks up, and his hand stills.
you walk into the shop with ease, sneakers squeaking slightly on the darkwood floors, your hair flowing prettily behind you, your attention focused on whatever you were typing into your phone, and he stops breathing entirely.
you’re beautiful.
he always believed in love at first sight, being the stupid, sappy romantic he was, and he was certain that you were his.
he completely ignores the report that was waiting to be completed in front of him, and instead opts to continue to stare at you. he wants to walk up and introduce himself to you, and maybe get your number or ask you out, but for the first time, he’s never been so nervous in trying to hit someone up. what if he screws things up? what if you think he’s just an arrogant, entitled man? what if you think that he’s creepy? what if you have a boyfriend?
and so, he merely remains quietly in his seat, his eyes burning holes into you, and he feels a warmth spread across his chest when he sees you smile at the barista, and begin to chat with her about the weather.
when the barista finally finishes your drink, he watches you thank the barista with another blinding smile of yours, and watches you carefully balance the cup of tea, and head out of the shop with that smile of yours still present on your face.
he doesn’t finish the report that day, because his mind is full of you, and that smile of yours.
-
the second time he sees you, he makes a complete klutz of himself and forgets how to think about anything but you.
he’s typing up yet another report on his computer when he hears a laugh.
he looks up immediately, and feels a quick swoop in his chest when he realises that the laugh came from you. you’re leaning against the counter, chatting happily with the barista, and your smile is just so bright and radiant, it causes his heart to clench at how pretty you are.
you let out another laugh again when the barista says something to you, and he instantly feels his heart begin to hammer against his chest, because how the heck can he be attracted to a laugh?
he tries to take in a deep breath to calm himself, and brings up a hand to pat his chest to tell his heart to calm the fuck down, but he accidentally knocks over his cup of vanilla latte and it spills all over the table and onto the floor.
he winces as he watches the liquid drip down from the table and onto the puddle that was forming on the floor, and he instantly rushes to the counter to get himself some napkins to clean up the mess. oikawa makes sure to avoid making eye-contact with you or the barista, and he’s sure that his cheeks are red based on the burn he feels in his cheeks, and he hopes that you don’t find him weird.
when he sees a shadow fall onto him, he wants to hit himself at once. because he was obviously troubling the nice barista at the counter, and he was obviously making her job even harder.
“i’m so sorry for bothering you,” he says, scrubbing hard on the floor when he hears a laugh that sounds suspiciously like the laugh that he heard just a while ago that caused him to make such a complete fool of himself.
looking up slightly, he blinks when he sees you squat beside him to help scrub at the floors with some napkins that you took yourself.
“don’t be silly,” you declare, waving him off with a soggy napkin, before returning to scrub at the mess on the floor, “it’s not your fault.”
oikawa doesn’t know what to think except for omg she’s here. omg she’s next to me. omg she smells good. omg she’s next to me. omg.
when he continues to remain silent because he’s freaking out in his mind, you turn to look at him with a concerned gaze, and say, “don’t worry, really. you’re not bothering anyone, it was just an accident.”
the reassuring smile you shoot his way causes him to stop thinking of anything else and only think of you.
-
the third time he sees you, he forgets how to talk.
for some reason, that saturday morning, the coffee shop was absolutely packed, and thank god he got there early, because there were literally no seats left in the shop by the time the rush hour rolled around.
he’s busy typing yet another report onto his computer when he feels a light tap on his shoulder and he startles, almost spilling his cup of vanilla latte over himself.
he turns to stare at the culprit, and he instantly feels his heart start to thud against his ribs when he spots you standing before him, a guilty smile present on your face.
“i’m so sorry for startling you,” you apologise, before shifting a little on the spot, and he can’t help but think that you look absolutely adorable, but then he snaps his attention back to you when he realises that you’ve got more to say.
“i’m so sorry, but could i sit opposite you? my usual spot’s been taken and there’s no other empty seats in the shop,” you say, looking at him with a nervous smile, and oikawa’s mind blanks for a whole entire minute.
when he finally comes to his senses, he continues to stare at you, and you shift back awkwardly, and when you open your mouth to say something, oikawa jumps, and says, “no.’
instantly, he wants to whack himself, because what? what just came out of his mouth? and he watches you with widened eyes when you nod slowly and say, “oh! okay.”
“no wait!” he blurts out, reaching out to grab your hand to prevent you from leaving, and when you turn back in surprise, he quickly releases his grip on your wrist, “sorry. i meant yes. yes that you can sit. of course you can sit.”
you nod at him with that smile of yours surfacing on your face, and oikawa realises that he’s never seen anyone that pretty before.
“thank you,” you say, sitting across from him and pulling your laptop out from your back, and oikawa nods.
“welcome you’re.”
he immediately wants to hit himself when he hears the words leave his mouth, but relaxes slightly when you let out a laugh.
-
oikawa got to know you in the little things you did.
okay. that sounded creepy. he sounded like a stalker.
you came in to get tea to go if you were going to study at home, but you always made sure to stop for a few minutes to chat with the barista, whom you’ve seem to have made friends with. you got a vanilla macchiato and always sat down on a seat by the corner in the shop if you decided that you were going to study in the cafe.
he liked it whenever you studied in the cafe. you would always pass by his table to head to the counter to get a top up from the barista, always making sure to check up on her with that smile of yours hanging on your face, occasionally laughing at something funny she said. if the coffee shop was quiet enough, oikawa was able to hear your quips at the barista, and when he first heard the sarcasm oozing in your tone when you spoke to her, he nearly died and ascended to heaven. you were caring, funny, friendly, witty, and pretty. was there anything else that you weren’t?
what he liked the most was that you didn’t have a boyfriend, or a girlfriend. he nearly cried of happiness when he accidentally overheard you talking to the barista about your non-existent love life one day when the shop only had the three of you, but he pretended he didn’t hear anything, because eavesdropping on someone’s private conversations were rude.
what oikawa didn’t like, however, was the fact that he was still too much of a coward to approach you. he normally wasn’t this shitty in getting to know people, but there was something about you that always made him nervous. whenever you caught his eye as you were leaving or standing up to get a refill, you always shot him a friendly smile, and even though he managed to smile back, he still couldn’t muster up the courage to approach you.
he was still afraid that you would find him creepy. or weird.
-
because he keeps heading back to the shop, the barista eventually recognises him, and starts to call him “vanilla latte boy”. he also learns that the barista’s name was miyo, and sort of befriended her as well.
“hey, vanilla latte boy!” he hears from the direction of the counter when he trudges into the shop one rainy day, and he laughs and rolls his eyes, stowing away his umbrella and trying to dry it by the side.
“that’s not even original. isn’t it a mouthful to call me that? you already know my name’s oikawa,” he says, tucking the umbrella safely into a nook by the side.
then, he hears a laugh that he recognises all too well, judging from the way his heart just starts to beat erratically against his chest, and he whips his head up so fast it nearly gives him whiplash.
“hi!” you say cheerfully, waving from the seat by the counter, and oikawa widens his eyes.
you’re so pretty.
and cute.
he might be in love.
miyo clears her throat, and oikawa startles when he realises that he hasn’t responded to your salutation.
“oh,” he scrambles to find the words to say, “hi. yes. hello!”
you probably think he’s weird, he thinks when he sees an amused smile playing on your face.
“hey,” you say, reaching a hand out to him, “i’ve seen you around a few times, but never got the chance to introduce myself to you. my name’s (Y/N)!”
oh. so you did remember him.
“i’m oikawa,” he says, smiling at you and reaching for your hand, trying to mask the fact that his heart was going a million miles per hour.
when his hands finally clapses with yours, he nearly forgets to breathe again.
thunder rumbles in the distance just as the both of your hands pull away, and the rain starts to patter against the window panes even harder than before.
“looks like the both of you will be here for a while,” miyo remarks, eyeing the distant dark clouds outside the window, “oikawa, do you want a coffee or tea?”
“a vanilla latte,” he says immediately, and blinks when he hears your voice say the exact same thing.
when he turns to face you, your eyes are looking straight at the floor, but you laugh casually and say, “oh, i just noticed that you always order that, and i’ve never seen you drink anything else.”
-
the rain doesn’t let up at all, and instead becomes heavier when evening falls, and oikawa’s getting ready to head home.
you left the shop awhile ago, saying that you needed to make use of the opportunity to run home while the rain was a slight drizzle, turning down the offer by miyo of lending an umbrella, and left the shop in a hurry, making sure to wave goodbye to oikawa.
he waves goodbye to miyo as he heads out of the shop, and is about to head down the street when he catches a familiar figure.
it’s you.
and you’re drenched.
he instantly runs to you as fast as he can, and holds up the umbrella above you, prompting you to glance up.
“oikawa,” you say with a smile, and he tries to ignore the way his heart clenches when you say his name.
“take my jacket, you’re going to catch a cold if you don’t,” he says quickly, reaching into his bag to pass you the jacket, and oikawa’s heart swoops against his chest when you reach out thankfully and pull it on.
“thank you,” you say, and he waves it off, “i was trying to run, but then the rain got even heavier than before.”
oikawa glances up at the sky, and nods, before clenching his jaw slightly, “i’m taking you home.”
you widen your eyes and turn to look at him.
“no, it’s okay, i don’t want to be a bother,” you begin, and oikawa shakes his head.
“you aren’t. i don’t mind, which way to your house?” he asks, and when it’s clear that he won’t relent, you sigh and start walking to the left.
-
it’s a little awkward on the walk, and oikawa isn’t sure what to say or what to ask. what if he asks too intrusive questions?
“hey, oikawa?” you say softly, and oikawa tries to ignore the thudding in his chest as he turns to face you, “yeah?”
“thanks for walking me home,” you say, and oikawa smiles at you, “of course.”
the both of you lapse into silence again, and oikawa tightens his hold on the umbrella as he tries to think of things to talk to you about.
“you’re really sweet, you know? and cute.” you say, and the last two words are in a tone so soft that he wouldn’t have caught it if he wasn’t paying attention to you.
“you’re cute too,” he says, and ignores the heat he feels rush into his cheeks.
he smiles when you look up at him and smile.
when the both of you finally reach your house, oikawa stops you from taking the jacket off to return it to him.
when you look up at him with a questioning gaze, he sucks in a deep breath, and thinks it’s either now or never, and musters up the courage to grin at you.
“keep it,” he says, “you can return it to me tomorrow.”
he silently stares at you when you blink, and he’s never felt so nervous in waiting for someone’s reply to him.
“how do you even know if i’m free tomorrow?” you finally say with a cheeky smile playing on your lips, and oikawa grins.
“just taking a wild guess,” he answers, and grins even more when you smile even wider.
“you’re lucky, then,” you say, beaming up at him with that smile of yours, “i do happen to be free tomorrow. see you here at two then?”
oikawa smiles, and feels the tension in his jaw slacken, “see you tomorrow.”
“it’s a date!” you smile, waving at him as you shut the door behind you, wrapping his jacket around you.
“it’s a date,” oikawa repeats, and he’s sure that love at first sight really does exist.

——————
Tapping your fingers on a surface repeatedly is a past time that Iida found rather irritable. Along with chewing or clicking on pens, bobbling your knee, fumbling with your hands, things like that.
Though, Iida couldn’t help himself from tugging and tapping on the light red watch strapped firmly to his wrist, checking it habitually.
Uraraka eyed Iida as he tiredly rubbed at the bridge of his nose, staring down the black clock hands as they moved too slowly for his liking. “8 more hours till I can see (L/n)-kun again...” he mumbled ever so quietly, pulling his grey sleeve back down.
He drummed his fingers on the side of his desk once more. Uraraka pursed her lips.
————
“Ne, Iida-kun, you look sort of...restless, these days. Did something happen?”
Iida looked up from his lunch. He hadn’t realized he was picking at his rice until Midoryia set a hand on his shoulder. He untensed and grasped his chopsticks correctly. “I assure you everything’s..alrig-“
“Who is ‘(L/n)-kun’, Iida?”
Uraraka butt in, both hands clenched and resting on the table. Iida stood silent for a tad too long.
“W-well I heard you mumble something about ‘8 more hours till I can see ‘(L/n)-kun’ again’ in class today a-and I was just wondering-“
“It’s no one you know.” Iidas voice was uncharacteristically dismissive and unstable. Two words that never would be used to describe Iida Tenya.
Iida abruptly rose from his seat. “I apologize. I need to do something.”
He briskly walked towards the exit of the cafeteria. Midoryia watched as he discreetly fumbled with the straps of a light red watch barely hidden by his blazer sleeve. He turned back to the table, to Uraraka and Todoroki.
“What do you think happened to Iida-kun? He barely seems like himself...”
“It’s been like that for about a month now, has it not?” Todoroki tapped on his chin with the butt of his chopsticks. Uraraka sighed.
“think it has something to do with this ‘(L/n)’ person?”
Todoroki shrugged. Midoryia sighed, bringing a forkful of rice into his mouth before stopping. “Actually, I think I remember Iida asking me about someone like, a month ago.”
“Was it ‘(L/n)-kun’?” Todoroki and Uraraka questioned, almost in unison. Midoryia let his fork drop back into his bowl. “I...I’m not sure. I think he was asking me about a name like...Ryota? No...Tadashi? No no, that wasn’t it...”
Midoryia rubbed at his chin, before a name popped into his mouth. “Oh! I remember! He asked me...”
———
“...Midoryia-kun, have you seen (L/n)-kun this morning? I haven’t seen him and he has my Quirk-Law textbook.”
Midoryia looked at Iida like he grew a second head. “...gomen, who?
It was Iida’s turn to look confused. He stopped eating his breakfast and faced Midoryia fully. “...(L/n)-kun. (L/n) (Y/n)?”
“Theres no one here named that, Iida-kun...” Midoryia awkwardly gulped down his water, filling his mouth to prevent him from accidentally saying something harsh. He wasn’t sure if he was in the wrong, or Iida was just plain on delusional.
Iida pursed his lips and turned to Uraraka, Tsuyu, and Todoroki. Perhaps Midoryia was just feeling a bit amnesic. Plus, (Y/n) was real close with Uraraka, even if it was slightly to close for his liking. So, she was bound to be able to answer Iidas inklings, right?
“Uraraka-kun, surely you’ve seen (L/n)-kun this morning, am I wrong? A-and what about you, Tsuy-I mean Tsu-chan. Todoroki-kun.”
All three of them gave him the same look of disarray Midoryia had gave him. Tsuyu shook her head while Todoroki grunted out a “no.” Uraraka pitifully set a hand on Iidas shoulder.
“Iida, are you feeling alright? There’s no one here named ‘(L/n)’...”
“Sure there is!” Iida was starting to get a little frazzled. Is this some kind of sick joke? If it was, he’d be willing to laugh it off right now. Surely any second, (L/n) would come running down, claiming he overslept and scarf down his breakfast. Where was he? He was waiting.
One by one, everyone surrounding Iida started to oogle at him, watching as their level headed class rep unraveled at the seams. “W-why must you all look at me like I’m crazy! Have you all forgotten about your own classmate?!”
Iida cursed himself for raising his voice. He let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding while Yaoyorozu silently counted all the people eating breakfast.
“...19...20. Yeah, no, everyone’s here. All 20. We have not forgotten anyone, Iida-san.”
Iida grit his teeth, a wave of worry piercing down his spine. “20? You can’t have counted 20 in this class if you have not counted (L/n)-kun!”
Everyone copied the look of confusion Iidas friends made. He broke into a cold sweat, grasping at the corners of the table. “(L/n)! (H/c) hair? (E/c) eyes? Accidentally stepped on Bakugou-kuns toe and had to be sent to the nurses office last week?”
People murmured and shook their heads amongst themselves. Some with genuine confusion and others with plain worry. Iida’s lost it, is what their probably thinking.
Iida stammered. “H-how can-“
“Iida-chan, don’t you think we would’ve known if we forgot someone? And don’t you think it’s weird we all collectively forgot this person you’re talking about? Sorry to say, Iida-chan, but this (L/n) person most likely isn’t real. Or we just don’t know him, kero.”
Iida opened his mouth to say something. Tsuyu looked at him with her blank stare, before subtly gesturing to everyone else with her head. He looked around the table.
Everyone either nodded tentatively or downcast their eyes as to mask their pitiful agreement. Everyone seemed to silently agree with her. Iida was stunned into submission.
He scrambled out of his seat. His voice cracked in disbelief. This was a joke. It had to be. “I-I’m going to go wake him up. He’s...he’s probably still sleeping. That’s all. You all are just being delusional.”
He walked as calmly as he could away from the common room, but once he turned the corner, he started sprinting. He hiked up the fabric of his pants over his calves as he ran, running up the stairs next to the elevator. The elevator would’ve took too long.
Running up to the fourth floor, he skidded to a halt in-front of (Y/n’s) dorm. Iida’s hand went up to grasp the doorknob, before hesitating and letting it rest flaccidly on the handle.
“(L/n)-kun?” Nothing was heard or called from inside the room. He really is a heavy sleeper. Iida swallowed the growing lump in his throat. Why was he so nervous?
Outside (Y/n’s) room, he knocked gently on the frame of the door. His voice wavered. “(L/n)!”
There’s no response.
“(Y/n)-kun!”
Nothing.
He really didn’t want to enter his room like this. It was a breach of privacy. What if he was just changing? No, if he were changing he could’ve surely heard him knock and call out his name. He has to be asleep.
He really left him no choice. Iida gently opened the door.
“...(y/-“
White.
He was face to face with an white, blank, empty room. The supplementary provided curtains were drawn closed and there was dust gathering around the bare floorboards. There was no trace of the dimly lit room, with papers strewn across the wooden desk and a bed that was never folded or made. There was no trace of the oddly sweet smell that came from his room, that never really bothered anyone, but no one ever knew was caused it.
There was no trace of (L/n) (Y/n).
Iida felt his knees buckle from underneath him. His legs promptly folded together, his engines digging into the skin of thighs. His jaw went slack. He heard footsteps echoing closer, eventually dying out with the assumption that that someone was behind him. He felt uneasy. He felt like throwing up.
“Iida...?” Uraraka’s voice was soft, like treading on thin ice. He heard Yaoyorozu hum softly, worry lacing her vocal cords. He panned his head slowly towards them, not wanting to look at the blank room once filled with life anymore.
“He’s...gone.”
“‘He’ was never here, Iida-San” Yaoyorozu crouched down, tucking her elbows in. “Do you need to talk to a professional...?”
“No! I need to speak with (L/...” Iida’s voice trailed off. There was no point in fighting a losing battle. He knew Uraraka and Yaoyorozu wouldn’t believe him. No one seemed to.
“...most likely...”
———
Uraraka’s eyes widened. “I...I remember that!”
Midoryia shoveled some food into his mouth. “Yeah, he seemed really out of it since then. He didn’t even notice when Kaminari-kun cheated on last weeks quiz.”
“Don’t you think it’s odd he still hasn’t gotten over this person even after a month? Iida isn’t the type to dwell on things. Whoever this (L/n) person is, he’s obviously important to him in some way.” Todoroki slurped up more of his soba. Midoryia and Uraraka silently agreed.
“Well-Deku said it himself-this person isn’t real!” Uraraka knitted her eyebrows together, slumping back in her chair. “And even if we tried asking Iida, he’ll probably blow us off again...”
“Still...he got me curious...I wonder what ‘(L/n)-kun’ looks like...”
Midoryia’s ears perked up. He shuffled around in his pockets, fishing out his phone and booting up a search engine. Typing vigorously, Todoroki and Uraraka leaned over the table and across his shoulder to see what he was typing. His screen turned pink, displaying a website.
“M-My mom was talking about this place a few days ago...I-we could get some information out of Iida-if he lets us take him-and know what (L/n)-kun looks like-!”
The bell rang, cutting Midoryia off promptly. He saved the address down in his notes, sending the web address to his two friends and pocketing his phone once more. Todoroki set his tray on top of the trash can, dusting off his blazer.
“It’s decided. We’ll go after afternoon classes. I’ll go get a permission slip from Mr Aizawa to leave campus. I trust you two can convince Iida to come along?”
Midoryia and Uraraka nodded. It was a plan.
———
The four stood in front of a small corner shop, it’s sign looking like it was made of cheap plastic, with the words “Art through words” written in dark pink cursive.
It was very off putting, but it had been gaining popularity through social media and other networking apps. Apparently it’s very popular with people who lost a loved one or police looking for a sketch of a villain.
“I...still don’t see why you two requested my presence he-“
“We just wanna know something.” Was all Uraraka said. Midoryia and Todoroki had a firm grip on each of Iidas shoulder blades, shoving him in through the narrow door while Uraraka strut in happily.
The doorbell gave a small jingle. A pale, soft-eyed woman looked up from her desk, her reddish-pink lips quirking up into a soft smile. Her wavy blond hair flowed as she stood up from her chair, leaning over the receptionist desk and resting her elbows on the surface.
“I take it you must be ‘Izuku’. Thank you for calling earlier.”
Midoryia hummed. The lady smiled warmly, leaving her desk to lead them to a door. “Well, follow me, kids. Sorry, my receptionist is on break-I don’t want you to think I’m some sort of scam arti-“
“No no, we’ve seen you around on videotube...and your quirk is amazing...”
“I’m sorry, may I ask who and what we are doing here?”
Everyone turned to Iida. The woman smiled gently, taking a seat behind a sketchbook propped up by an easel. The 4 took a seat across from her, sinking down into a pink couch. “I apologize. Let me give you my formal greeting.”
“My name is Kaitekina Byouga. I can illustrate anything someone describes with complete accuracy, as long as you aren’t lying about your description.” Iida pursed his lips.
“My business usually caters towards people who lose loved ones, so it’s strange to see such...young teenagers in my studio,”
Iida stiffened. He finally caught on. ‘Lost loved one’. It was obvious. He supressed a pointed glare at his friends, choosing to adjust his glasses instead.
“Alright,” Kaitekina flipped open her sketchbook, setting it back down on the easel. “Who’s going to describe something to me?”
Everyone gestured at Iida.

Mismatch- Part 17
Bio Dad Bruce Wayne Month 2020
“Push me off the roof you coward!”
First< Previous > Next
------
“So do you want to be Batman or should I?” Marion brings out the two outfits identical in every way except size.
“It’s not actually dressing up,” Marinette scolds fixing her hair.
“Well then you single handedly ruined halloween,” Marion grins coming up behind her, “Everyone wears them for it,”
“Don’t exaggerate,” Marinette watches him warily in the mirror, prepared to defend if-when he makes a move to mess up her hair.
“So Batman or Robin?” Marion holds the outfits up, dangerous close to her head.
“I don’t care,” Marinette stands up, spinning around, using the chair as a shield.
“Coin flip then,” Marion drapes them over the chair, “Oooh foreshadowing!”
“Please tell me you're going to take this marginally seriously?” Marinette leans back on the dresser as he fishes for a coin.
“You’re starting to sound like our manager,” Marion flips the coin with extra flare, “Heads,”
“You should thank Kate for setting this up,” Marinette catches the coin before he can, “Tails,”
She takes the Robin outfit from the chair, ducking Marion as she passes.
“You know I don’t think Kate wants to see me,” Marion takes his outfit behind the opposite curtain, “She's pretty stressed something will go wrong,”
“In Gotham?” Marinette pokes her head out the curtain on the other side of the room.
“I know, crazy right,” Marion also peaks through the curtain, “Where would she get that idea?”
“Who knows?” Marinette cheekily grins before ducking back behind the curtain.
“If we get attacked again I think we might give aunt- I mean,” Marion pauses pulling on his grey turtleneck, “ugh, this is hard,”
“Mari, the outfits are designed for easy use,” Marinette teases, tone sounding half hearted even from this distance.
“What are you calling her in your head?” Marion pulls the turtle neck down all the way.
“Selina,” Marinette answers, as he shrugs on his hooded crop top over the turtleneck, split into two colours to make a vague bat-shape. “Although I just avoid saying it out loud,”
“Great minds think alike,” Marion pulls on his grey leggings, that Marinette had thankfully made into thermals.
“I’m the only great mind here,” Marinette teases, Marion lets out fake gasp as he pulls a pair of shorts over his leggings, “You just like to copy,”
“How dare you!” Marion pulls the curtains aside dramatically, Marinette doesn't even look up from where she's putting on bracelets, “Dishonour! Dishonour on you, Dishonour on your kwami! Dis-”
“Hey!” Tikki flies out of the backpack.
“Sorry Tikki,” Marion looks away from the fuming Kwami, trying to avoid her by pulling on his black and blue boots.
“It’s ok Tikki,” Marinette finishes putting green and gold bracelets up to her elbows, “He’s just trying to be funny,”
“And succeeding!” Marion corrects, smoothing a mask over his eyes.
“Ah-ha,” Marinette stands, black and yellow scarf flaring out at the back.
“You know I don’t think she agrees,” Marion stage whispers to Plagg from his bag.
“Ah-ha,” Plagg says in the same tone, as Marion is pulling on his black gloves.
“Traitors, all of you,”
“Hey look,” Marinette bumps his shoulder, nodding towards someone.
“It’s Jason,” Marion whispers back excitedly, moving to wave.
“MCD doesn't know him,” Marinette grabs his arm, “Let’s hope this isn’t as awkward as it was with Chloe,”
“I thought that was fun,”
“Of course you did,”
"Hi," Jason approaches nervously, completely different to how Marion's met him before, it's cute.
"Oh hello, stranger," Marion grins, ignoring the kick from Marinette, he'll be careful, it's fine he's got this, "Whats your name?"
"Jason," Oh my God he's blushing!
"Jasin," Marion repeats pretending to write on what he was handed.
"Um…." Jason looks like he's about to correct Marion, this will be perfect- "yep,"
Fuck fuck fuck i though he would correct me fuck, Marinette help! Marinette rolls her eyes at his pleading look.
"Jason, CD," Pointing to the page without writing, "son,"
"Ohhhh Jason,” Marion says, as if he had come to some amazing realisation, Marinette looks like she wants to slap him, “haha, sorry, of course, I just didn’t hear you right, because I don’t know your name, why would I know your name? It's-"
Marinette rightfully cuts off his rambling with a swift kick, that both knew would never actually hurt him. At least Jason looks just as embarrassed as him, neither quite knowing how to start the conversation back up,"
"How about we take a picture?" Marinette says, their saving grace.
"Yeah, that would be great," Jason fumbles for his phone, Marion hopes his mask will cover his blush, as he remembers what Jason had said about him at dinner, the only reason he was blushing.
They take a nice picture together. Then one where Marion throws bunny ears behind MDC. She swats his hand away and he pushes her out of frame. The next picture is one of him and Jason with Marinette rising up, like a threatening blur in the background.
"Aw thats a nice picture" Marion looks over Jason shoulder, they were meant to be with the next person already but they were a design hopeful, babbling to MDC about her designs, "You should send it to me,"
"Of course," Jason seems flustered with his proximity, enough so that he didn't see Marion's trap.
"Great heres my number," Marion quickly writes it down on blank piece of paper, a picture seeming a bit too narcissistic at that point.
"...Waut,"
"Well you have to send it to me someway," Marion shrugs, conveniently ignori-forgetting that pictures were sent through his social media all the time.
"Right... right," Jason seems to be in a bit of a daze when Marion sends him off, standing next to Marinette as the fan leaves.
They watch Jason leave. Marinette starts giggling when he almost runs into a wall.
“Are you ok?" Marion asks, partly for the security guard who was waiting for their ok to send the next person up.
“You are such a dork,” She breaths through her upcoming laughter, “I think I need a minute,”
“Fine but if I get a hopeful fashion designer I’m telling them your new direction is crocs,” Marion huffs, not really insulted, but if he didn't act it she would only up the anti.
“Do it and your casket will be made out of crocs,” Marinette threatens ineffectively, walking to the backstage door.
“I kinda want to see that,”
“You’d be dead,” Marinette calls from the door.
“Minor issue,”
Marinette waves him off, which could have been an aborted swat. He watches as the crowd nearby begin whispering, some offering others to go first to stall for time. Marion plans to shove this in her face next time Marinette claims she isn’t popular. He’s about to take a camera out for evidence when one of the groups, fast tracked but the crowd, approaches.
Marion goes to do his more basic greetings when a gun is shoved in his face. The group made up of armed men surrounding him, one holding a camera.
“Smile for the camera,” The figure pulls his coat back, revealing the frankly disturbing face of the Joker.
“Oh it’s you,” Marion keeps a blank face, evidently confusing him, “Any chance two-face will show up?”
“.... No?” Marion fights to keep his composure as the crowd are threatened by the remaining thugs, pushing them to the ground.
“Pity, what a waste of good foreshadowing,” Marion shrugs casually, that camera is probably filming.
“What,” Marion supposes its a rare thing to see the Joker taken aback, but watching a group of armed men storm backstage distracts him from the sight.
“Nothing, I just made a brilliant joke earlier and you're sort of ruining it,” Marion makes exaggerated gestures, testing his limits, the guns follow him but don’t shoot. “Anyway are you here for an autograph or what?”
“I’m not-” He watches the Joker's face twist in gruesome realisation, “you’re trying to stall me,”
“Stall you from what?” Marion tries not to make his scan of the crowd obvious, “Please go in depth,”
“How about on the way up to the roof?” Chilling smile, but Marion is too used to fear to let it get to him.
“Oh goodie, I hear it has wonderful views,” Marion claps his hands, probably getting weird looks from the goons hiding behind masks, but who are they to judge?
He’s guided to the elevator. The Joker making the mistake of not tying his hands, or gagging him. He feels Kaalki and Plagg tense in his pocket.
“Huh, no elevator music,” Marion observes as the elevator starts to rise, “I just kind of expected it at this point,”
“You are strange,” Marion makes the mistake of glancing over, the Joker does not seem perturbed by that fact.
“You’re telling me that?” Marion tilts his head, “Actually that's quite the achievement,”
The Joker starts to go on about his plan, something about throwing MCD off the roof in front of the crowd for whatever reason, he’s not really listening. No, instead he’s made his own plan. There's no way Marinette was caught, not when she has no one to look after. She must be somewhere in the building, probably as Sparrow. It’s best if Sparrow and Songbird are seen near their other identities as little as possible, so he had to deal with the camera. If she saw the footage, which was probably being broadcast (a brilliant idea, really, no problems with that) she would intercept them. The best position would be on the elevator, but he had to buy time.
The cameras closest so he strikes, hitting it out of the goons hand, mid sentence. In the split second confusion he hits the number panel, lighting up all but a few.
“Huh, that was easy,” Marion says with genuine surprise.
“And here I thought you were being a good hostage,” Marion feels several guns press against him, but it’s only the pistol with the Joker at the end that worries him.
“Sorry to disappoint,” Marion smirks cockily, the threats turning more violent.
No, not threats, promises. Marion debates calling on Kaalki, while he’s still able too. It wouldn’t be great for a miraculous to be seen in a different country, but better than the one that can teleport than Ladybug. If Marinette couldn’t stop them in time she would surely turn to Ladybug and pick him up as he falls, right in front of the crowd and cameras. Not great.
There were other heroes in Gotham, they both knew. And if it was just him at stake he would put faith in them. But it’s not. He’s Chat Noir and there's not enough time to train a new Black Cat, not anymore.
The elevator finally reaches the top. Marion braces to help Marinette fight on the other side of the door. It opens. There’s no one. Great, great, great .
“Well, well, well why don’t we see what's behind that mask and carve up your pretty face, hm?” Joker leads him close enough to the edge of the building that anyone else should be scared.
“That sounds counter productive,” Might as well try plan b, he should have come up with one, but as is he’ll have to wing it, “Weren’t you going to throw me off the roof?”
“Eager aren't you?” Not really “After, promise,”
That grin paired with the knife inching closer should scare him, but honestly the only thing that truly scares him anymore is someone going for his ring, or Ladybug’s.
“What's the point? I’d be dead soon anyway, sounds like a waste of time,” Marion debates adding a yawn to match the tone, but it seems like overkill.
“A few screams are never a waste of time,” Marion is backed up further to the edge of the roof, able to see the fretting crowd below.
“Sounds to me like you just don’t have any confidence,” Marion says with all the sass he can muster, which is a lot.
“Oh, do explain,” The knife inching closer to the edge of his mask encourages the opposite, but he was never much good with warnings.
“If you really believe your plan will work and I wouldn’t be saved by I-don’t-know, Batman?” Yep that strikes a cord, probably not the best cord to strike with a knife in your face, oh well his wounds will heal soon anyway, “Then you’d throw me over the roof, a few cuts doesn't matter much when your dead,”
He can see the gears turning, debating if there's merit to his bullshit or if it’s just that. Honestly Marion doesn't know either.
“Revealing my identity and stuff is just a way for you to feel like you’ve won when Batman beats you,” He carefully doesn't emphasise the ‘when’, making it sound casual, like a given fact, “Cutting my face is just admitting you think the heroes will win,”
Just a little bit more. He’s almost pulled off plan ‘b’ for bat-shit crazy. He has the horse miraculous in his grip, Kaalki won’t like it but it's hard to put glasses on in mid air.
“Besides, won’t the mask leave a bit more impact?”
Hook. Line. Sinker.
“You really think the Bats going to save you huh?” The grin is unnerving, so Marion matches it with one of his own.
“I do,” He challenges, chin tilted up, “do you,”
He hears a cackle that would have surely appeared in his fear toxin dream if he heard it before. He’s pushed, vest twisted in the jokers grip, trying to stay balanced on the very edge.
“I like you kid,” And yeah, by that smile it’s not a good thing.
“Goodie,” Marion says sardonically, ignoring the shouting below, probably because his torso is all the way off the edge.
“Make sure to scream,” He feels the grip loosen, not having the natural response to grab onto something.
“I won’t,” he sends one last smirk as he’s dropped, weight sending him off balance and off the edge.
He’s in free fall and knows the screaming is not his own. He’s too busy debating the right time to transform. The street is getting closer and closer, no staff or grappling hook to save him.
“Klakki!-”
The air gets knocked out of him at the sudden change in directions. He can feel the arm and hears the glass shattering. For all the speed of a few seconds ago he is not expecting the quiet that follows. He’s leaning forward against someone's chest, both crouched down inside the building he just fell from. He recognises the shade of red first, Marinette had spent weeks with it pinned up all over their room and Marion has been wearing it ever since. He relaxes.
“Are you ok?” He gets pulled back from the chest, his complaints are cut off, a gloved hand tracing over his cheek, he feels the sting so it must be cut.
“Yeah I’m fine,” Probably not convincing, since his crush is the closest he’s ever been and Marion is almost the same shade of red.
“You’re fine?” The disbelief is clear and it takes Marion a second to realise why.
“I mean… Oh no! Trauma!” Marion tries to fall dramatically but the arm still on his back catches him.
“Good thing you’re a popstar not an actor,” Marion feels relief at the stiff atmosphere relaxing.
“Excuse you,” He snaps back up, poking Red Hood’s chest, smirking, “I’d make a wonderful actor,”
“Yeah, yeah,” Red Hood looks away, as far as Marion can tell with the helmet, “You sure you’re ok?”
“Yes, are you?” Marion stresses, remembering that he broke through the glass.
“... what?” Red Hood's full attention comes back to him.
“Are you ok?” Marion tries not to get annoyed at the answer, humour then, “After all breaking through a window isn’t much fun,”
You idiot you can't use his line on him ! Not in different identities! What if he figures it out?!
“Yeah.. yeah," He looks away again, "I’m… great,”
Marion smiles, guess things did turn out great in the end.
“CD!” Marion jumps out his skin, both suddenly realising how they looked and stand, Marinette runs right up to him, “Are you ok!?”
“Yep I’m… great,” Marion exchanges a private glance with Red Hood as Marinette frets over him.
“Thank goodness,” She sighs, shoulders sagging, then coming back up to hit him over the head, “Then why are you such an idiot!”
“Natural talent?” Marion rubs the spot, she put some Ladybug strength in that one.
“At least you’re good at something,” She sighs, brushing her hand over the spot.
“Rude,” Marion pouts, even as his head feels better, and his cut is startling to close up.
“If every things ok then,” Red Hood says awkwardly, “I’ve got a clown to go beat up,”
I Forgot!! How do you forget that! Marion yells at himself When your crush saves you from falling to your death…. Less romantic than it seemed in the moment.
“Have fun….” Marion waves, increasing the awkwardness ten fold, “dear god, I am an idiot!”
He groans into Marinette's shoulder after Red Hood left.
“Yes, but blush later, we need to be ready to provide backup,” Marinette pulls him out of the room stepping over broken glass.
“Uh- yeah! Right! lets go,” Marion snaps out of it, running after her.
“You are such a mess,” She insults as they jog, or with their speed, sprint up the stairs.
“Of all people you don’t get to call me that,” Marion needn't remind her of how she spilt orange juice all over herself at breakfast.
“... You just fell off a building, I was talking about your clothes,” Marinette has on her, ‘you’re an idiot’ face, well practiced that one.
“Oh,”
“But yeah you are a walking disaster,” She speeds up.
“Hey!” Marion sprints after her.
They reach the roof, not as out of breath as they should be.
“I thought I told you to stay put?” Red Hood snaps, alone on the roof.
“You didn’t,” They chorus coincidentally.
“I thought you had common sense,”
“We don’t,” They chorus on purpose.
Red Hood just shakes his head, probably smiling under the helmet.
“So the Joker escaped?” Marinette is the first to wipe the grin off her face.
“He was gone when I got up here,” Red Hood shrugs, “Waiting on intel,”
Probably from oracle.
“I didn’t say thank you!” Marion realises, not used to being the one saved.
“You don’t have to,” He looks away again, “Just doing my job,”
“But I want to,” Marion walks into his line of sight “So thank you,”
“Yeah well… thanks too I guess,” He looks away again and it's starting to get annoying.
“For what,” Marion leans over enough that he should be in sight, but he can't see his eye to confirm.
“I like the outfit you designed off me,” Marion freezes, almost stumbling over, “The interview was… entertaining,”
With that killing blow, a grappling hook is sent out and Red Hook is whisked away.
“.... Hey, can I borrow your miraculous?” Marion says blankly when Marinette comes to stand by him, “I need to wish myself out of existence real quick,”

alternatively, mission goes awry and reader looses her memory. IDK WHY IM CRAVING ANGST AND PAIN HAHA but either way thank u!
Angst and pain is a specialty... let’s see how I do with this...

Remember Me
Bucky sat next to your hospital bed holding your hand, rubbing your knuckles with his thumb. You groan quietly as your eyes flutter open. At first you look up at the ceiling, and then when you hear a voice you look in that direction.
“Y/N? Oh baby, I am so happy you are okay.” Bucky says as he presses the red button on your bed. “What happened?” you asked in a raspy voice. Bucky cups your cheek which makes you tense. Bucky’s brow furrows but he clears his throat, “Uh... you got hit by an explosion on the mission. You’ve been unconsciousness for three days.” Bucky says.
You nod and open your mouth to say something when Dr. Cho walks in, “Well nice to see you awake Y/N. How do you feel?” she asks with a smile. You look at Bucky for a second who gives you a small smile of encouragement. “Um... okay I guess, but... who is Y/N?” you ask. Dr. Cho frowns slightly, but recovers quickly.
“Can you tell me the last thing you remember?” she asks. You close your eyes and try to think, but your mind is just completely blank. “I... I don’t know. What does this mean?” you ask in a panic. Bucky steps closer, his brows furrowed in concern, “It’s okay Doll. You’re going to be okay.” he says quietly.
“Who are you?! How do you know it will be okay when I don’t know who you are!” you say having difficulty breathing. Dr. Cho grabbed the oxygen mask and put it over your nose and mouth, before turning toward Bucky. “Sergeant Barnes, you need to leave, and tell the rest of the team to stay away until we can figure out what it going on.” she says.
“No way, I am not leaving my...” “You have to! I need to keep her calm. Most likely this is just some amnesia due to the trauma, but I need to make sure, and her getting all upset is not going to help. You need to stay away until I have made sure nothing else is wrong.” she says interrupting Bucky. Bucky looks at you sadly, you sitting there with the oxygen mask on and your eyes closed. He nodded sadly to Dr. Cho and left the room.
“Okay Y/N, we are going to run some simple tests to make sure everything okay, does that sound alright with you?” Dr. Cho asks patiently. You nod as you continue to take deep breaths.
--
“Sergeant Barnes, everything looks good with the tests. Agent Y/L/N seems to have trauma induced amnesia.” Dr. Cho says. Steve pats Bucky on the shoulder as Bucky nods, “How long with it last?” he asks, tears starting to slowly fall down his cheeks in fear and relief. “Unfortunately that is something we cannot foresee. It could be hours, days, weeks, months... even...” Dr. Cho trailed off, her meaning understood.
Bucky stood up and walked out of the conference room and stood at the window to your room. You were sitting there in your bed, looking so scared and helpless. He wants nothing more than to bring your memories back to you, have you remember him.
“You okay Buck?” Steve asked walking up behind Bucky looking into your room. Bucky drops and shakes his head, “It’s my fault. I should have protected her better, then she wouldn’t be like this... wouldn’t be scared and not know who I am or who she is.” he says.
“It’s not your fault, Buck. You can’t control everything that happens on missions and...” “It doesn’t matter. I just want her to get better, and the fact that I can’t help her is the worst feeling in the world.” Bucky says before walking away from the window.
--
Three weeks later you wake up in the middle of the night with a start. You look over and see Bucky sitting next to your bed sleeping. You look at him and see the pain in his features even asleep. You feel in your gut that he is someone more special than the rest of the people you have met. You wish that you could make it better, because the guilt that you don’t know who he is, is eating you alive.
Bucky shifts and wakes up, looking at you before sitting up looking guilty. “Sorry, I was hoping to be gone before you woke up.” he says. “It’s okay. Do you come every night?” you ask. He gives you a sheepish smile, “Yeah. I uh... I’ve never spent a night apart from you since...” he trails off looking at the floor.
“Um... who are you to me?” you ask quietly. Bucky scootched his chair slightly and cleared his throat. “Well, we met about five years ago, and you hated me when you first got here.” he says with a chuckle. “But I won you over with my charm....eventually.” he says. You smile, sitting back and listening to him speak, his voice is very soothing.
“And then we became best friends, but I knew I was madly in love with you. It took you some time, but eventually you realized you felt the same. You kissed me first. Surprised the hell out of me, but it was the best day of my life, until our wedding day. You were running late, and I was nervous you had changed your mind, but when you walked up the aisle you said --” “There are two things I am certain of, that I am a badass Avenger and that you are the love of my life.” you say.
Bucky looked at you in shock as you sat there with tears in your eyes. “Y/N?” Bucky asks leaning closer to you. “Hi baby. I’m so sorry.” you say with tears in your eyes. “No... no it’s not your fault. I should have protected you better, I vowed to protect you and I failed.” he said tears falling from his eyes also.
“Shut up, you can’t control everything that happens on missions.” you scold, making Bucky laugh. Bucky stands and hovers over you, “I thought I would never get to talk to you like this again, I was so scared.” he said before kissing you passionately. You kiss him back with as much fervor, your hands running through his hair.
“There is one thing you need to know besides that you are the love of my life. I will always, ALWAYS come back to you.” you say against his lips. “I love you Y/N Barnes.” he says. You sniff and smile at your husband, “I love you too Bucky Barnes, more than anything.”
