While it was true she had met many other people of her profession before, she had only met them once or twice. Never had she met the same plague Doctor more then twice, as her traveling lifestyle often meant that while she moved to other places, the others didn’t, having homes, offices and even family to care for. She remembered all of them, but not enough to regularly recall their names. 

One of them stood out as the exception, however. She still occasionally referred to him as ‘Prometheus’s creation’, even though she had actually remembered his name: Dr. Athanasius.

He was an interesting doctor, a creation of another from stone and earth, given life but without speech. His absence of speech suited him, in an odd way. She had trouble even imagining her fellow doctor vocalizing his thoughts, his silence speaking volumes even without his instrument.

She had met him only hours before the others tried to burn her at the stake, a brief stroll around bringing Doctor Feathers right to his doorstep. He had welcomed her in without hesitation, although seeing as you would likely need a pickaxe to harm him, she could understand why. He had let her wander around for nearly 7 hours, reading the many books he had on display and looking at all the odd things on his desk, several of which she only vaguely recognized. Above, on his wall, was a painting of a foreboding, sharp nosed man, contrasting harshly with his curly haired. smiling partner. Even after she had learned who they were, she couldn't imagine how on earth the two managed to get along. 

It was only after Dr. Athanasius had pointed it out that she realized she was indeed hungry, and bade her goodbyes. Alas, had she known that the townsmen would accost her and tie her to a burning pyre, she perhaps would have accepted his offer of tea first.
