I have never done a writblr intro, so here we go.

Hello! You can call me Shay. I'm a writer and artist living in the US. Welcome to my art and writing blog!

About me: I'm 25, asexual, transmasc, nonbinary (he/they/it), and unsure where I fall on the romantic spectrum. Tag and Ask game friendly! Asks and conversation encouraged. I'm more scared of you than you are of me, so it may take me a bit to respond. I never know what I'm doing at any given time, so I'm very sporadic in talking about or making anything related to stories or art. I follow/follow back using Shay-Puppity (my main account).

I'm creating my world "Exalos" through stories and art, filling the world with my beloved characters (distant sobbing and screaming). I mainly write in the genre of fantasy with a smattering of mystery, horror, romance, and slice of life. Many of my characters are LGBT+ and the world they live in has no drama surrounding that.

I'm currently focused on my WIP titled "Dread Secrets," but I have several other stories in various stages of development. Dread Secrets is my first time planning with the intent of actually writing and finishing the story. Volume of projects not indicative of me being put together, it is quite the opposite.

Summary: (WIP intro link)

Fifteen years ago, King Ansellus Kestrel of the kingdom Wisea made a last stand against the Dread Queen Celesto, his first love, as the benevolent kingdoms banded together to lay siege to the aptly named, Dread Kingdom. Against all odds, Celesto was beaten. Turned against by the Ancient of the Dread Forest, an unstable Celesto's final moments saw her body transform into a dark and twisted tree that screamed angrily into nothingness without a sound.

They had been in love, Ansellus willing to give Celesto anything he could give her. In four short years, their perfect life together fell to shambles as Celesto betrayed not only Ansellus, but friends and even her own goddaughter, Hibiki, who, even now, clings to her father to feel safe.

Xiang, a student of Prophis, attempts to aid a friend who is cursed to sleep with Grim Twilight Ivy growing around and from his body. His good intentions are rewarded by having a similar curse placed on Xiang himself. A strange mark over his heart and plagued by nightmares of being hunted by the Dread Queen Celesto in the ruins of the Dread Kingdom, Xiang leaves the ancient towers of Prophis to find a way to break the curse before succumbing to it himself. He is given a protector in the form of Malianna Ash, a half-immortal from the fiery Kingdom of Rosha.

Neph, a half-immortal in their early twenties, lives comfortably in the independent city of Rudrian with caretakers Sasha and Bryn Creek and their soft-spoken friend, Celine. Neph longs to gain recognition so they may ascend to immortality in the hopes of reuniting with their immortal mother in Elorial, the realm of immortals. They seize their chance after rescuing Xiang after the Prophis student is separated from Malianna by the crowds. Through the use of incessant nagging and a sprinkle of charisma, Neph manages to join the two strangers on their quest. Celine, who has always been at Neph's side, joins the group to aid them as both a healer and strong nature magic user.

What secrets hide in the past? Will Xiang be able to lift the curse from himself before it's too late? What dreadful secrets hide within the ruins of the Dread Kingdom? Did Celesto find some way to survive and lay low all those years ago, or is the curse the doing of someone else?

Summary: A fantasy story that follows the formation and eventual fall from grace of the Eleven Immortal Villains of the Dread Forest. A time when the citizens of Rusa and Centuros were ruled by Dissonantia Krone and her husband Draco Krone, before the two rulers became God of Chaos and Discord respectively. When Rusa and Centuros were constantly in a closely tied battle without bloodshed or animosity. Before the Dread Forest gained its name and the Ancient of Forests was worshiped by both Rusa and Centuros. When the Primordial of Life had curved horns upon its head and Immortals walked the same earth as mortals. How the mighty fall. Summary: A fantasy, slice of life story about a family of Gods in the Immortal Realm. Amphon, God of Blacksmiths, and Yvonna, God of Seamsters, adopted three young Immortals who’ve ascended to godhood. Fintan, God of Flames, is often sleeping in Amphon’s smelter, his blonde hair and skin stained with soot and ash, and he only leaves the home if it’s for his twin sister, Pangari, or adopted brother, Demarcus. Pangari, God of Shadows, is a bubbly and kind-hearted young woman with bright eyes and light blonde waves. She spends as much time as she can with her family, often dragging Fintan out of the smelter to go on walks. Demarcus, God of Artisans, is dutiful and is often working hard on a new blueprint or helping his adopted father design a new sword or gift for Yvonna. This is a story about found family and the bonds that are formed by accepting each other and protecting each other.

Summary: something goes here. There's a single part that I will legitimately cry while writing, it's the only thing I know will happen and it makes me sad. Great character moment though. Kit has a cat named Milo and I love their cat, it's the beacon of light in the bloody dark. That's all I've got so far. One scene and the MC has a cute cat. That's all you really need though...right?

Summary: something goes here. One of the MCs is probably the main MC because he's aro/ace and everyone around them is falling in love left, right, and center so it's like he's in the background if that makes sense? I haven't decided if that character is going to be called Season or Elio. This is the story with the most gay focus of any of my stories.

(old summary for some context: This story follows three couples as they pursue love. Elio has had feelings for his childhood friend Rowan for five years with the other not noticing and soon developing a crush on someone else. Elio decides to stop his feelings for Rowan, no matter how difficult, and allows his friends Dom and Dai to set him up with a temporary boyfriend Mingi. Once Elio decides to move on, Rowan soon discovers how much Elio has done for him over the years and abandons his crush to pursue Elio. Tia, friend of Elio and Dom and Dai has caught herself pining after her neighbor across the street named Mian. Despite all of her bravado and confident air, she can’t bring herself to talk coherently around Mian. No longer being pursued by Rowan, Wins begins to spend more time with Jun since they have many of the same interests. Jun stops spending time with Wins, putting Mingi first as the latter might have developed feelings for his temporary boyfriend. Can Amais, God of Love, help his heartless or will the God have them figure it out for themselves?)

POV: Pavel Night

Summary: (technically scrapped) A fantasy, mystery, suspense. Living under the same roof to save money with his six friends, Pavel has had the luxury of having a room to himself thanks to winning a long game of rock, paper, scissors. His ideal world is flipped when one of his friends, Lucas, asks if a friend of his could move in. Though Pavel doesn’t know the friend well, he trusts Lucas’ judgement of character and agrees to let the friend share a room with himself since it’d be easier than Malia moving her things out of one room and into another. As soon as this friend, Mirroh, arrives, Pavel feels a strange distrust of the stranger. Mirroh keeps to himself unless he’s with Lucas, and seems to settle in well enough. But when an accident leaves his friend Shen dead and Ambrose in critical condition, strange things begin to happen. Mirroh’s personality becomes stranger and he seems to know when something bad is about to happen, though he doesn’t seem to lift a finger to stop it. What’s stranger is Pavel wakes up to find himself back to the day of the first accident that began it all. What can Pavel do to prevent the accidents? Does Mirroh know something and is keeping it a secret? Who is the stranger that confirms that Pavel should not trust Mirroh? Should he listen to the stranger?

Meet My OCs: Cherevouse

Name: Cherevouse Cherene (she-ri-vow Sh-e-rah-nae) Nicknames: Chev, Shay. Date of Birth: twentieth of April, One-thousand fifty-five AA Age: 24 WIP: Sunset Role: Secondary Character

Quote: "Stop, The Law commands you! hah, I've always wanted to say that."

Background and personality:

Cherevouse was a orphan who was adopted by Angela and Marcus Price when she was just one year old, as a refugee from the city-state of Thae, a city which was besieged by the Winter court. as a infant, she was raised by Angela and Marcus, alongside the other children of the Price noble estate: Jayson, Charles, and Lena. Despite being adopted, Cheverouse uses the last name "Cherene" instead of "Price", to honor her blood parents.

Cheverouse has braided White hair and blueish eyes common to the residents of Thae. Her albinism causes them to look slightly purple in certain lighting conditions. She spent most of her time in the company of Jayson in her early days, since Charles was two years older and Lena had just been born when Cherevouse was 6. She was what one could call a "proper" child, and initially wished to pursue a job as a Teacher. her goal changed when the war started, and she decided to follow Jayson into the academy and take a shot at avenging her family.

Cherevouse has a playful sternness that leaves most people around her confused at how to act around her- at least until they get to know her. She gets things done when they need to get done, and a little bit of fun in the process never hurt anyone.

Hobbies:

Cherevouse loves to sing, but being an executive officer has prevented her from pursuing those hobbies. If asked, her response is, "Paperwork." aside from singing, she loves stargazing.

Relationships:

She and Jayson are engaged- a fact that she occasionally tosses around to First years much to her mirth and Jayson's chagrin. since Knights can't marry until after they have graduated, they are strictly Captain and executive officer, for now.

She has a good relationship with her adoptive parents, and is thankfull that such a family took her in- though she has some choice words about her Adoptive mom.

Cheverouse is very much the Mom of the Seventh Chapter Knights: managing the behind-the-scenes of the team and making sure everything runs smoothly, and makes sure that her relationship with Erain and Rai are friendly; she shares the belief with Jayson that comradery is a essential part in any Knight Chapter.

Miscellanea facts

in her native tongue, "Cheverouse" is a combination of "cheven", meaning "Call" or "Lull", and "ez'revouse", translating roughly to "Of ocean", "Call of (the) Ocean."

She's Pescatarian- that is, Only eats seafood, and not red meat or poultry, the like.

hi i was wondering if you were going to continue writing about jay white? i loved your one shot!! have you ever thought of turning him and presley’s story into like a small series?

Hey Anon. I do plan on writing more Jay White stories. I have at least another one-shot for him that takes place in 2020-2021 around the start of Strong through Resurgence with a different OFC, plus he's part of an AU series I'm planning, though I know that won't be for everyone's tastes.

Right now the stories above are all I really have planned, but it could change -- inspiration hits me like a freight train sometimes. I keep a running list of all my in-process stories (ranging from ideas to WIPs) here.

I however don't have plans to revisit Jay and Presley in the future. I am really proud of that story but very much feel like their story is pretty much done. There's a chance if I ever revisit that vague reiteration of time for NJPW they'll appear -- like if I wrote a one-shot for Tanga/Shay or Hikuleo and an OFC, Jay and Presley might appear in the background with mentions of how they're doing and what they've been up to, but I'd say the chances of that are really low and that the other NJPW stories planned are all pure one-shots that stand on their own. But thank you so much for your kind words about Jetlagged and Lovesick. It's one of my favorite one-shots I've written. I hope when I do get around to writing more Jay that you enjoy those, too.

2019 Creative Review

I gotta admit I've been pretty lacking this year in terms of creating something, at least it feels like it, especially since I drew near to nothing during my stay in Japan (except the manga which I'll come back to). But now I'm in an art mood again so hopefully there'll be continuous fanart again!

So I guess I'll just share a few of the things I liked that I made?

Like one of the first things last year was the little song comic and I still really like it actually. one of the few times I drew some sort of background-ish pictures. Also the Avatar prints that I made because I still love those kids so much and they will always hold a special place in my heart.

Drew some RWBY fanart too bc we've been blessed with bees

I also bought myself an ipad so I could use procreate and it really made things easier to just draw whenever and wherever I want which I absolutely love. Most of my creative content that year has been RWBY and FMA fanart I feel like, but I've also fleshed out my OCs a little bit and made the manga short about them that I drew in Japan (will post it soon)

and now some wips I want to work on this year (some of which I probably won't finish)

sooo yeah it has been an ok year imo. I think I ended it stronger though. Anyways here's to a new year of hopefully lots of creative content for all of us!

QUESTIONS:

1) Do you listen to music when you’re writing?

YES. I actually don’t know if I’ve ever written without music on in the background. I have to have music playing. I can’t handle silence and I can’t focus if like the TV is on. I usually have playlists for each of my projects, they change a lot and sometimes I just put on something generic. But yup. I always have music playing.

2) Does your family/friends know that your write stories/poems/etc.?

Yes. I’m lucky in that I have a very supportive family and group of friends. It actually never occurred to me not to tell people? But yeah. I’m lucky. Like, it’s kind of embarrassing because my mom is the best but she brags about me and I’m like THERE’S NOTHING TO BRAG ABOUT UNTIL I GET PUBLISHED! But yeah. Writing is my main focus, I don’t/didn’t go to college to focus on writing so you know, it kind of comes up a lot. I like to talk about it. What else would I even talk about? I’m so awkward it’s the only thing I have that I can hold a coherent conversation about!

3) What was your favorite book as a child?

The books that got me into reading and loving books and made me want to write were the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. So yeah. Those. The third, The Titan’s Curse, has always been my absolute favorite.

4) Tea or Coffee?

COFFEE. C.O.F.F.E.E. COOOOOFFFFFEEE. coffee. So yeah. I kind of like coffee. A little? Just a little. (I should go get some coffee...)

5) Notebooks and pens or laptop/computer?

I do most my writing on my computer. I love my computer, his name is Tom - Why? It’s Riddle... Get it? Tom Riddle? I didn’t come up with that. My brother did. I like taking credit. BUT, anyway. Writing/editing on the computer at my desk or on the floor, in bed, in a comfy chair? In front of the fireplace when it’s cold out! Anywhere. BUT I do a lot of outlining with just a notebook and pen and brainstorming is usually done on my phone while I’m doing other things.

6) How old were you when you started to write?

I’ve always wanted to write, I didn’t even know why for a long time before I started reading a lot but I still wanted to write. I wrote the first few chapters of a lot of terrible things when I was young that I don’t count. When I was 13/14, this was after I got into reading aka my first love, and I had this moment where I realized that yup. Writing. It’s the only life for me. Around then I got my first Big Idea, but I didn’t start writing it until my brother forced me (it was kind of a bet and also just a SHAY IF YOU WANT TO BE A FUCKING WRITER YOU HAVE TO FUCKING WRITE) when I was 16.

7) What is the first line of a WIP you’re working on?

I guess I’ll share the first lines of a couple original things? I don’t usually do that here but it sounds fun!

So the book I’m currently working on the third draft of, The Forgotten Name:

The King of Nightmares stared out at a crumbling world from the highest point of a castle in the sky, awaiting news from his spies that even then were scouring the world for signs of the thief.

And for the novel I’m outlining to write for NaNoWriMo next month I actually wrote a first sentence for it like two months ago because first sentences are IMPORTANT! But it might change when I actually write it... Stand in title is, Pocket Magician:

Ry stalked across the rooftops of Illium late into the night, paper birds fluttering over his shoulders as he made his way to the palace, a mask of molten silver covering his face and hiding the fact that he was of the sort that would never be allowed close to the prince he was heading to see.

8) Do you base your characters on real people or not?

Noooo. Nope. I’ve never really gotten why people would do that? No judgment, it’s just not for me. Sometimes I borrow names but even that is usually not from people close to me.

9) What does writing mean to you?

EVERYTHING. I don’t know how to answer this question except to say what I just told @maud-eration actually, and that’s that I don’t know what I would be without writing. I would have nothing. Like it’s just, honestly, everything to me, everything I want in life. I don’t think I’d be much of anything without it.

10) What is your least favorite trope to write?

Cliche romantic tropes which is ironic as it’s all I write in fanfic. BUT I don’t mean “cliche” as in like coffee shop AU. I mean cliche as in love triangles, insta-love, romance that takes over the plot in a fantasy novel. I love romance, I love having a good ship to root for and to write, but I don’t like it taking over. In my original stuff, I try not to write the cliche love story into my books. OH. And the bad boy who's actually good. I admit, I fall for that in a book, in the moment, but I also hate that so much. I refuse to write the cliche bad boy character. OOOHH, ALSO the main character with red hair trope! That’s a trope right? I mean, it’s everywhere. Especially in fantasy. I just swore to a friend that I would NEVER write a main character with red hair.

Hello again! This time I decided that I’d add a fic count to the log to make keeping these consistent a little easier. And also because I was curious how much I actually get through… (Of course it doesn’t include the fics I leave out.) I’ll also be going back and adding a count to the previous logs as well.

Hopefully the Red Paladin can win his familiar's trust and regain the strength to protect the city, before it is left in shambles ~ Awesome so far! Can't wait to read more!

When Lance arrives at The Garrison as a cargo pilot, he wishes he could go home. When Keith leaves, he expects to be respected by the teachers. When he joins Voltron, he thinks he might finally get the attention he deserves. He's wrong about a lot of things, but he hopes he's not wrong about the trust in his fellow paladins. Lance never expected for no one to answer his call for help. All he got was frustrated groans telling him to handle it. He doesn't handle it. ~ I have a feeling this is going to be really good! I might be wrong, but I hope I'm not. Even though this is rated teen the torture, psychological torture, and depression are rather prominent so it may be wise to treat this as a slightly higher rating.

Discovery Channel by DracoNorth Words: 11k, Rating: Explicit, Status: Complete Relationship(s): Klance Lance grit his teeth as Keith bit around his collarbone, he could feel the sharp sting of the mark and already could tell it would be one of the darkest ones Keith had ever given him. Just as the two were about to about to argue again, the door to the shower room swung open and all the blood within their bodies slowly turned to ice. Shiro walked in with a black towel slung low around his hips as he absently scratched at the back of his head and yawned, his eyes closed as he passed by the two's shared stall. “Do you think he noticed?” Lance murmured softly to Keith as they continued to watch their leader's back, the two of them slowly drifting apart from one another. “I noticed.” ~ I almost didn't read this one because of the second-hand embarrassment I was getting at the start. Not a bad fic all in all, but prepare for a lot of inconvenient cockblocking.

It was just too early for this nonsense. Or, alternatively, Hunk and Keith aren't very good field trip chaperones. ~ An intermission of fluffy Heith fluff for all your fluffy needs. <3 Well, it's actually a bit short for all of your fluffy needs, but I really liked that sentence so it gets to stay.

So fine, it’s what I’ll use.) Suddenly he crashes into something. He frowns, turning around. Lance couldn't remember a tree being there, and he definitely didn't remember trees having strong arms that could wrap around a person's waist. And they're there. Shiro and Keith. They're there, staring at him like this is a dream, like they can't believe they're looking at Lance. And suddenly all of Lance's buried feelings, all his forgotten memories are rushing back with the intensity equal to that of the rapids in a wide river. ~ I feel this could have been a bit longer and slightly more fleshed out, but still a nice fic.

A different part thinks, “I was born a girl so that’s what I must be.” Even though she knows that that isn’t how things work, that if it was Lance or Hunk — or anyone really — saying these things she would literally slap them until they started talking sense again. ~ Omg, this one made me want to hug both Pidge and the author! I can really relate to it and their feelings around being agender (I sometimes am as well, since it's in the range of my genderfluidity). Experiences obviously differ between different people, but go read it anyway! And leave the author some love~ They deserve it!

But I think an epilogue would have rounded it off really nicely. I'm not sure if the author is still considering writing one or not...

I keep looking at all my characters and fearing I don’t have any woman x woman pairs but then remember I have a whole story (idea) centered around a badass paring of women, another story that has not only a couple but also has a polyamorous woman x woman x woman relationship, then a side character I’m probably gonna give a girlfriend to in another story (but that WIP is new so I have no clue yet). I just keep forgetting because there are so many characters I’m keeping track of and so many pairings (cannon or not) that they keep getting confused.
