"My jolly sailor bold..."

Fingers fidget on the cutlass, fingering the sword as the singing grows louder and nearer, as their ship begins to hum and quake with the sound of their enchanting melodies. Between his knees lay the blunderbuss, the barrel gleaming from a fresh cleaning and the gunpowder loaded with a calm that defies the violence that may yet be...

"My heart is pierced by Cupid, I disdain all glitter and gold..." Cold water wells and washes up over the deck, the storm growing fiercer in temperament as their admirers grow and gather in number. All the crew has taken their proper place below the decks, all the lines and riggings secured, and only their first mate is left to greet them as they pull themselves onto the railings. Their scales gleaming as jewels, of rubies deep as blood and sapphires in the shades known only to the sea from whence they came, and their smiles are sultry, seductive as they reach out with grasping hands for their jolly sailor bold...

Thunder breaks, lightning burns across the sky with a blinding flash, and the sword sweeps through their song and grasp alike. Their singing becomes a wailing, a cacophony of enraged and hungering noises drowned out by the roaring of the blunderbuss and the crashing of the raging ocean waves. He is a blur amidst the salt and spray, his expression not one of admiration and love but rebuke and disdain, illuminated by the glimmering of steel sword and the belching of fire and smoke from the gun as these sirens are driven back and the deck grows slick not for the sea trying to swallow it but for the water of their life drenching the sturdy wood.

Their plying fingers turned raking claws lash out at his face, their tails so strong and sharpscaled whip to and fro to crush him, their beguiling smiles turned baring fangs sink into the flesh of his arms, and yet he does not falter to their song or savagery but withstands it. He endures, and returns every debt garnered by their deceit turned rage with interest until they flee back into the deepening depths, their haunting voices echoing in their wake even as the storm still howls across the endless waves...

... there is nothing can console me, but my jolly sailor bold...

Meet Al the Sharpscale Sun Dragon!

Age: 227 (about 22 in human years)

Powers: Dream and Fire magic

Likes: loving people, caring friends, warmth, games, the color purple

Dislikes: being left out, being alone, rude people, being cold

Communication: Telepathy, automatic writing, or tarot

Experience level: Beginner

Appearance:(In his own words) I am a bit smaller than the other dragons, only 3 feet wide, 8 feet long, and 6 feet tall. My wingspan is 10 feet wide. My eyes are tinged purple, with a ring of red-gold. I am in general smaller and weaker than most dragons of my species. My scales are large layered needles, made of shimmering gold, but not soft like gold, its as hard as steel.The top layer of the needles stand up when i am threatened, acting sort of like a porcupines does, and they can be launched out of my skin in defense. They grow back within a few months, but while they are growing back i am weaker. My teeth are very strong as well, they are made of the same thing that our scales are, but they are thicker and stronger. my nose is pointed but rounded off in the end, and I always have scales standing up around the ridge of our back, starting between our ears and ending at the end of our tail. Those scales are thicker, like our teeth.

Personality: (in his own words) I am quiet and kind, full of love for my family, and that includes what is to be my spirit family and companion. I am extremely protective of the ones i love. I love to lay around and watch my family have fun, but i rarely join in the fun as i am rarely pulled in. I love the life and love i receive being around my family. I feel stronger around them. Outside of that, I love playing games, like video games and such, especially rpg’s, but not any that you are killing dragons in, unless those dragons have actually done something wrong. I am playful and tend to be “catlike” pouncing and playing with my family and generally acting like a cat i guess. It is just my nature.

Companionship Needs: I would love to have a friend and family that i can love and be around. I would like a large family, but if yours is small right now then its okay as long as your family is going to grow larger, at least 5 other companions. I love attention, and would like to talk everyday please. And I would like a vessel! A metal trinket of some sort or metal jewelry would be amazing

Sandstone - Who in your life has been the most healing for you?So far? Khan Sharpscale. When Thrush’s mom left he was a kid still, no matter how much training he had, and stumbling into an adult that saw him and was basically like ‘oh no you’re alone OH NO I’M ADOPTING YOU ALL’ was probably the best thing that could have happened.

But he’s also just met his biological father, and that’s helping with things he didn’t know he was dealing with. So either of those dads, probably.

Daffodil - Do you like trying new things? What is something new you’d like to try?He loves to try new things! Thrush will try anything once, right now he’s very much keen on going on a hunt with the resident swamp-man in the party.

Green tea - Does Tea it exist in your world?  If so do you like it, and which kind is your favorite? He brews his own! Jasmine is his favorite.

Navy - have you ever been on a boat/sailing? does it exist in your world? did you enjoy it? He hasn’t been sailing, he’d be super down for it though, probably do a shitty pirate expression too.

Ivory - Do you play any musical instruments? If so, which ones and how well? He plays the violin, and he’s actually pretty good. Getting to practice with your best friend when she’s a bard is really helpful for critique and improvement.
