I’m beyond delighted to reveal the cover of The Dark Mirror, the fifth book in the Bone Season series, designed by Carmen R. Balit and illustrated by Ivan Belikov, with art direction by David Mann. 

I couldn’t love this cover more ��� it fits perfectly alongside the other books while also having a fresh, nocturnal palette for this brand-new instalment of the series. I can’t even imagine how gorgeous it’s going to look when it’s foiled. Endless thanks to Ivan, as always, for his exquisite illustrations.

The Dark Mirror will be published in hardback, ebook and audio format on 25 February 2025. Signed copies are available to pre-order now from Waterstones and Barnes & Noble; more special editions to be announced.

Like imagine everyone is battling, wielding fire, throwing up forcefields, swinging swords and daggers, when all of a sudden the entire area gets completely covered in shadows. No one can see a thing… until red lightning flashes through the room.

Thank you Shannon Messenger for saying in a relatively subtle way you are anti-Trump. I always had my suspicions (I mean COME ON, we’ve read the books, we know what their about) but this just confirmed it.

I’m not even kidding about this. The immense relief I feel as an American fan who has cried once an hour today, knowing that I can positive cry for about four minutes before dread crying again.

Tam and Linh's relationship is so beautiful. They had only each other since the very beginning, till they met with the Black Swan and even then, their bond is so much stronger than theirs with anyone else. Linh was the only one who was banished but Tam didn't want to live in a world without her by his side and joined her. Tam was said to be very protective of Linh during Exilium, never leaving her side. He only trusted Sophie when she risked herself for helping Linh. Tam was not ready to commit to the Black Swan but the moment Linh volunteered, Tam followed. Tam only joined the Neverseen when Gisela threatened Linh's safety. And when Linh heard the news, she didn't break down but fiercely believed that Tam can survive, that he'll make it out. And yet, the moment Sophie raised the possibility of Linh being able to telepathically communicate with Tam and hear his voice, Linh's eyes welled up with tears, full of hope. After being able to hear Linh telepathically, Tam cried in his room. He only talked with Rayni, because for a split second, when she asked him if he was doing okay, she sounded like Linh. They bicker and fight like any other pair of siblings but their love runs so deep. They're each other's first priority, always and forever more.
