Shangguan glanced up toward Li Bai, deadpan glare, one of distrust and disgust. “Why am I not surprised?” Judgmental droll as she shifted against her bindings, rope thoroughly wrapped around her body, pushing up her breasts, burning into bare thighs. “Just get me out of here, already. And don’t mention a WORD of this to the Empress or Magistrate…” Continued struggles as she scowled at Li Bai, seeing a deeper LUST burning in his eyes. He really DID have a BDSM streak, huh?

She’d never felt more like a PIECE OF MEAT. And she’d spent years as a political prisoner and servant after her father was incarcerated for conspiracy to overthrow the monarchy. Still… There was something… EQUALLY ALLURING in Li Bai’s eyes… She’d also never really been afforded any freedom in her own life. Political slaves weren’t exactly ALLOWED to feel love. And many nobles would, ahem… INVITE THEMSELVES to be… ‘serviced’... by many of the maids. It was only with the favor of the Empress that Shangguan herself had escaped some of the WORSE fates of her fellow maids.

But still, the threat had made itself known. Sometimes a little too intimately… What she was feeling now confused her… Or perhaps EXCITED her? A girl not allowed to live her own life, actually feeling some level of WANT for the situation she was in? For the MAN who clearly wanted her, too… Maybe she’d have encouraged him if he wasn’t such a NARCISSISTIC ASSHAT. She could never allow him to know. So she tried to control her blush. Pinched her legs together to protect her modesty in her robe and maintained that murderous glare. “What are you waiting for? Gonna paint yourself a picture? Write a poem about it? Get me up!!” She just hoped he wouldn’t make her beg. She HATED begging…

“I don’t want it to just be ‘me’ and ‘you’ anymore,” she mumbles, outstretching an unsteady hand. Shangguan Qian is so far away that she can’t even brush the edge of her clothes, let alone grasp her. “Can we… Can we be an ‘us’ again? Please?”

Yun Weishan watches Shangguan Qian carefully for her answer, sifting through the fog of the sea in her eyes. Wearing white and framed by the candlelight, she looks a little too unreal, like she doesn’t belong in the same plane as her at all.

Shangguan Qian exhales. She glances at her hand, keeping it hovering, trembling in mid-air.

“That’s not up to me, is it?” she returns. “What about you, Yun Weishan? Will you show me mercy, or will this all end the same way?”
