Sar Agha Seyed Village

Located 130km from Shahrekord and 45km from Kuhrang County, Sar Agha Seyed is a monument in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, Iran.

The village is well-known as the roofs of the houses below, are the yard of the houses above which is the same as Masouleh Village in Gilan Province but Sar Agha Seyed has a larger population and more houses. The houses are surrounded by the mountain.

Fix Skin

Our skin is a deceptively complex material, delicate but strong, protective but permeable. An ideal artificial skin substitute for wound healing must support blood vessel growth, have antibacterial properties, and be sufficiently porous for air and moisture exchange. A new approach has developed a scaffold to grow such tissue-engineered material by incorporating a glass-ceramic onto electrospun nanofibres made of chitosan – a sugar from shellfish outer skeletons – and gelatin (pictured). The scaffold was also laced with silver, which provides antibacterial properties, and was found to be compatible with the body and blood, and promoted cell growth. Connective cells (pink) fully attached and spread over the scaffold, and researchers then treated wounds on mice. The scaffolds showed good vessel and protein growth, and even supported the regeneration of glands and hair follicles, which means this approach may help wounds repair without leaving a scar.

Sage is an aromatic herb that is used ceremoniously in cultures from around the world, including the indigenous people of South and North America. "Smudging" is the traditional practice of burning dried sage in order to cleanse a person or living space.

It's not conclusively shown whether burning dried sage (called "smudging") can actually kill airborne bacteria, as is often claimed in headlines. For some people with certain health conditions, burning sage and other medicinal plants may even lead to unintended respiratory issues.

But for most people, burning sage is a pleasant and restorative activity that may boost mood and help restore a sense of peace and calm. For example, 2016 research out of the University of Mississippi reveals that white sage contains flavonoids which may activate receptors in the central nervous system related to reduced stress, better mood, and decreased pain. Additional research out of the Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences in Iran suggests sage may improve sleep.

When done correctly, smudging is a safe and enjoyable addition to any self-care routine or spiritual practice. Always look for high quality and ethically-cultivated sage.
