I love the ways in which Grind Session sucks. People love to think about THPS1, but seldom want to reckon with how clunky it actually was. GS is about as rough if not a little worse, but it's such a charmingly weird, methodical, and satisfying game to wrap your brain around. Whereas Neversoft was taking cues from skaters and going "okay how can we make this actually fun," I think Shaba Games was talking to some scrappier skaters and going "yes you guys are slowly driving yourselves insane trying to nail one line. we should translate that to a game." Which honestly kind of owns. Also just love the general design ethos and soundtrack too
