President Ramkalawan Elevates Seychelles Defence Officers
Presidential Honors for Defence Officers
From the heart of Victoria, Seychelles, a significant event unfolded as President Wavel Ramkalawan, also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, presided over a prestigious ceremony. Here, he honored Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF) officers with promotions and commissions, acknowledging their merit, expertise, and exceptional leadership. The ceremony, imbued with tradition and respect, began with a blessing from Chaplain Lieutenant Colonel Louis Agathine.
President's Commendation and Call for Excellence
Recognizing Officer Achievements In his address, President Ramkalawan extended heartfelt congratulations to the SDF officers. He recognized their capabilities, furthered by studies, qualifying them for their new ranks. He lauded these men and women in uniform for their continuous dedication to serving their country and its citizens. A List of Achievements The ceremony was marked by the promotion of 14 officers to various ranks, recognizing their service and dedication. These promotions included Lieutenant Colonel Rodney Zarine, Majors such as Dr. Dania Woodcock, and Captains including Mr. Daniel Magloire, Mr. Michel Payet, among others. The event also acknowledged the promotion of several Lieutenants, such as Mr. Gerry Boniface, Ms. Stephanie Anderson, and Mr. Christopher Hoareau. Special Mention Ms. Melina Crispin received special recognition for her promotion to Lieutenant before her assignment to Manama, Bahrain, as the "Maritime Security Enhancement Training (MSET) Planner" at the CMF Headquarters.
Commissioning of Devoted Personnel
Honoring Dedicated Service In addition to promotions, two devoted personnel were commissioned as officers in the SDF, acknowledging their years of dedicated service and expertise. These were Major Donn Du Perez and Lieutenant Sandy Ernesta, both specialists in their respective fields.
