Period dramas- El Mestre Que Va Prometre El Mar (The teacher who promised the sea) (2023)

The film focuses on the life of Antoni Benaiges , a teacher from Mont-roig del Camp, in the Baix Camp, in Tarragona, Catalunya, who in 1935 was sent to the public school in Bañuelos de Bureba, a small town in the province of Burgos, Castilla la Vieja (Castilla y León). Little by little, and thanks to a pioneering and revolutionary teaching methodology for the time, he will begin to transform the lives of his students, but also that of the town, which is not always to everyone's taste.

It's based on the book of the same name by Francesc Escribano and has been adapted for the big screen by Albert Val, and its director is Patrícia Font.

To tell the story of Antoni Benaiges (Enric Auquer), the film interweaves past and present and the master's story will be known through the eyes of Ariadna (Laia Costa), a woman looking for her great-grandfather who disappeared during the Civil War.

The producers of the film wanted to emphasize the essence of this exciting story: " 'El mestre que va prometre el mar'  is a great story that has been unfairly forgotten for many years. With this film we are repairing an oblivion and at the same time valuing the work of the republican teachers and recognizing the struggle of so many people who still continue to search for their relatives buried anonymously in mass graves. An exciting and fully valid story.

Part of the technical team is made up of David Valldepérez, director of photography; Josep Rosell, art director; Dani Arregui, editor, and Natasha Arizu, composer, among other professionals.  

The film is shot for six weeks in various locations in the demarcation of Barcelona, in Mura, and in Briviesca (Burgos). It is a production of Minoria Absoluta, Lastor Media, Filmax and Mestres Films AIE. 

RTVE and TV3 participate and it has the support of the ICAA and the ICEC . Filmax is in charge of distribution to cinemas.

They say that wherever there is good, the bad lurks behind.

Y/N had never had it easy, and while that may seem trivial to some given that everyone knew who she was due to her father's massive name in the business world; she'd struggled to gain acceptance in the public eye - merely being reduced to a 'nepo kid' despite her massive success as a musical artist, it seemed to take a backseat whenever people dug deep into her life, paying more attention to her love life rather than her music.

You see, Y/N has had many lovers which some took as a sign of her being some sort of Casanova - from long term relationship to short flings, it seemed as if whomever she was with, she'd bound to be the next hot topic and when she met Andreas, she realized exactly why people were intrigued by her love life, Andreas was a professional football player and being such meant that he was equally well known as she is - they'd eventually cross paths and a love story blossoms.

Or what looked like a love story.

Andreas was possessive, far too possessive that it seemed to seep through the façade she had in public, people would notice hints and clues of her less than stellar situation, and after months of silently suffering; she'd finally rid herself of him and released the album Agrio which was a clear and direct message towards him.

Y/N had then decided to vanish from the public eye to go on a self love and rediscovery journey, her place of choosing you may ask, she'd chosen Paris - as one of her close friends happened to live there, Kylian Mbappe; the pair had maintained a close friendship for several years thanks to running in the same circles, and through Kylian she'd met the man of her dreams.

The six foot tall, inked Spaniard was a combination of gentle yet assertive, initially she'd wanted to resist him as her heart was still healing yet it was his presence and support which helped push her through the path of healing, eventually leading to the best kind of love she can hope.

Three years and two babies later, she'd been more than happy that it lead to her composing an album by the title of Amante - an ode to the man that saved her from herself, and yet in the midst of the happy bubble she lived in, there was always that inkling feeling that something was bound to happen, something that would pull her away from the cloud she was floating in.

" Amor, are you ready? I - " Sergio's words die down the minute his eyes land on his wife, donning a beautiful emerald green dress that hugged her curves in ways which definitely tugged on his heart and had shoot blood straight down. " Oh Dios Mío " he murmurs.

Y/N turns around with a shy smile, her hair cascading her soft features which were highlighted by the makeup that adorned her face. " Is it bad? " she wonders.

" Bad? " Sergio echoes before shaking his head, " My beautiful wife is everything but bad " he adds before a naughty smirk appears, " she's very bad in bed when she doesn't listen but right now ... let's just say, I'm reconsidering going to this stupid event before the match "

" Sese " Y/N whines, " when did we get a night for ourselves since Marco and Romano's birth hm? I wanna feel less like a mother and more like a girl, out with her man "

Sergio chuckles, wrapping both of his arms around her waist to tug her closer. " The way I see it, you're still that girl " he nods, " my wild girl who just so happens to be the best mother in the entire world, and the most talented singer "

" My baby " Y/N cradles his face to plant a soft peck, " Te quiero "

" Yo también te quiero mi vida " Sergio smiles.

The event was lavish just as Y/N expected, however with her little knowledge over football; she stuck to standing next to Sergio as he chatted away with players from his team as well as players from opposing teams, Y/N would pitch in every now and then if a question was directed to her but overall had remained silent for the most part with a sense of dread washing over her, unsure why, it wasn't until she looked up that she realized exactly why she felt it.

There, a few feet away, stood Andreas with a beautiful model hanging on his arm,

She shouldn't feel like this, especially now given the fact that she's married with children yet the effects of the trauma he subjected on her still remained, she gently untangles herself from Sergio who was deeply engrossed in a conversation with Kylian to notice, she wanted to get some fresh air and was unsure where she should go; on an impulse, she makes a beeline to the women's bathroom and along the way her shoulder collides with the one person she didn't want to see.

" Y/N " Andreas smiles smugly, " Fancy seeing you here "

Y/N responds with a tight lipped smile, " Andreas "

" Now darling " Andreas chuckles, " Are you still angry with me? "

" The better wording would be that I fucking hate you, but you already know that " Y/N responds with the same smile. " Excuse me "

She was stopped when Andreas placed a hand over her elbow, " Can we talk? "

Y/N looks at his hand and violently rips her arm away, " Don't you dare touch me? "

" When did you become such a bitch? " Andreas asks, " I'm guessing it's because of that sleazy husband of yours "

Y/N had endured a lot in her life yet what she will never endure, is any one insulting Sergio, " That sleazy person is the best man in the entire world, he'd managed to do in two months what you couldn't do in five years which is to actually be man "

Before Andreas could bite back, he feels a hand on his shoulder which caused him to whip his head, ready to growl only to shrink as he realized who he came face to face with.

Sergio gives him a smile, " Andreas, right? "

" Y- Yeah " Andreas responds, completely different from the way he spoke to Y/N.

" I heard wonderful things about you " Sergio smiles.

Andreas furrows his brows. " Huh? "

" Yeah " Sergio laughs, " Apparently you like to abuse your power over men, emotionally drain them, hurt them with your words all so you can say I'm a big and powerful footballer " he hisses, " wish I can say the same about your interesting football abilities " he smirks, " or lack there of "

" I ... " Andreas began.

" No .. no, I clearly saw what my happened " Sergio said, " You were disturbing My Wife and if there's one thing I don't tolerate, is when people to try hurt her so If I were you, I'd sleep with one eye open and pray I am not in the starting eleven for tomorrow's match because while I would love nothing more than to beat you senseless for being a misogynistic piece of human garbage, I know better than to embarrass my wife who's the most prettiest girl here, so .. " he grins then gently grabs Y/N to stand next to him, " See you on the pitch amigo "

The couple turn around, with Sergio tightening his embrace on Y/N and whispering, " Next time you want to go somewhere, I'm coming with you ok "

" Ok " Y/N nods before looking at him. " I love you "

" I love you too baby " Sergio smiles.

I haven't seen him since. He had shot a Zeffirelli before, I think. He was initially a stage actor, like many English people. I guess he's still playing. Comencini's film sometimes resembles Watteau's paintings.

70 is also the time when I filmed in “Corbari” by Valentino Orsini. This is the story of a resistance fighter in Cologne. A true story. I myself play the role of a resistance fighter. We are all shot. I would love to see it again. I can't say anything special about Corbari other than the fact that I have good memories of both the film and Giuliano Gemma. Coming back to fantasy, do you know that Dario Argento asked me to play in Suspiria? Unfortunately, I was not free.

Following that, you played in Necropilis by Franco Brocani.

Yes, it's a thriller where I play the role of a witch. There are plenty of references in this film to Bava, for example. It's pretty much the only thriller film I've made. Ah, there is "Lifespan" also in 75. But in 71, I play the fortune teller in "Arcana" by Giulio Questi. Again, a film that I am proud of. There is also "Bianco, Rosso e..." by Alberto Lattuada. It's a parody starring Sophia Loren. The story of a star who, following a car accident, finds herself in a suburban hospital, and she asks for her pedicurist, her astrologer... In it, Sophia Loren is a nun and Adriano Celentano is a patient. Me, the victim of my car accident, all plastered in my bed, someone gives me a slap to calm me down. It was very funny to play the role of a pain in the ass. It's a story inspired by Gina Lollobrigida's car accident. The same year, I filmed in “Il Sergente Klems” by Sergio Grieco with Peter Straus who had just filmed in “Soldat Bleu”. It was a shoot that lasted months and months, deep in the desert in Tunisia.

Grrrrr…Un 70% de la población porteña, la repudian al calificar su trabajo como deshonesto y carente de transparencia, responsabilizándola de solapar a funcionarios municipales en el presunto “desvió de recursos” y recurrente a sus mentiras compulsivas debido a su mitomanía. Grrrrr…En su prematura, alocada y desesperada ambición de poder, por posicionarse en el estado para lograr su nominación como candidata a la gubernatura de Guerrero en 2027, la alcaldesa Abelina López, no solo anunció que “ya inició la construcción del segundo piso de la 4T”, así como solicitar licencia en enero al cabildo, para recorrer libremente el estado. Grrrrr…Trasciende que ya se amafió con el ex gobernador Héctor Astudillo Flores, para iniciar su guerra sucia, a fin de hacer un lado a los actuales senadores Beatriz Mujica Murga y el “Toro” Salgado Macedonio. Grrrrr…Esperanzada en el impulso y protección de recién nombrado secretario de Economía, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, con quien presuntamente se asoció para la renta de las 100 patrullas y cuatro ambulancias a la empresa Casanova Vallejo, que en ese momento estaba inhabilitada y multada por la Secretaría de la Función Pública del Gobierno de la República que encabeza el presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador. Grrrrr…Cabe recordar que el proyecto, que fue impulsado por la SER, y Marcelo Ebrard lo anunció desde el pasado 21 de julio del 2022, que tenía como objetivo disminuir la contaminación en el río La Sabana de Acapulco, que contemplaba la construcción de más de 20 kilómetros de colectores y 13 km de desazolve, además de rehabilitar la planta de tratamiento Renacimiento. Grrrrr…Obra que beneficiaría alrededor de 236 mil personas que residen en 79 colonias vecinas al río La Sabana. Jamás se llevó a cabo. Siendo la primera gran mentira de la alcaldesa. Grrrrr…Para comenzar la campaña en la entidad para posicionarse como candidata a la gubernatura en 2027, motivo para el cual ya la “nueva adquisición astudillista Sergio Flores en Comunicación Social, quien ya trabaja con comunicadores de las principales regiones del Estado. Yen breve no sería nada extraño que fracasado subsecretario de Turismo, Noé Peralta Herrera, compadrito consentido del ex gobernador sea nombrado secretario de Turismo Municipal. Grrrrr…Abelina López, como abogada egresada de la UAGro, con doctorado marca patito del Conamat Acapulco, emule el comportamiento del presidente AMLO, de no respetar las leyes y mentir compulsivamente en su mañanera, en el caso de la alcaldesa además de mentir evade su responsabilidad. Grrrrr…Acapulco registra una evidente ausencia de gobierno. Los servicios públicos básicos elementales están colapsados, en materia seguridad el municipio cumplió 524 días sin secretario de Seguridad Pública en un territorio asolado por la inseguridad, la violencia y los asesinatos todos los días. Grrrrr…La mitomanía de la alcaldesa, según punto de los psicólogos- es parte de su presunto trastorno psicológico que consiste en mentir de manera compulsiva y patológica, como es el caso del programa de los semáforos, obra que lleva a cabo SEDATU como parte de la reconstrucción de Acapulco, tras la devastación de OTIS, con una inversión de 58 millones de pesos. Grrrrr…Sería bueno que sus principales “asesores” el conductor de radio Miguel Ángel López Sotelo, el transportista Ruperto Rodríguez, Noe Peralta Herrera, compadrito de Astudillo, el empresario Jesús Zamora y René Lobato Ramírez, salvo este último, los demás carecen de conocimientos en estrategias de operación política en materia de posicionamiento. Grrrrr…Además, creen que tienen buen prestigio en la entidad, pero cada uno tiene su historia que en su momento se las contaré. Bien dice el dicho “Dios los hace y ellos se juntan. Grrrrr…Además, hay que recordar que en la FGR la alcaldesa Abelina López, tiene un pendiente y no precisamente por invasora de terrenos, sino de la comisión de los dos marinos Óscar Manuel González Andrade y Victoriano Rodríguez Zurita, que actualmente se encuentran desaparecidos desde el pasado marzo, para que dieran seguridad al senador por Morena, José Narro Céspedes. Grrrrr…Bastante trabajo van a tener sus sesudos asesores y operadores políticos para hacerle ver a la alcaldesa reelecta López Rodríguez, que Acapulco no se rige por usos y costumbres sino se rige por el Derecho por el cual la Auditoría Superior de la Federación ASF dio a conocer en su portal oficial y a la opinión pública, el haber detectado un desfalco por 27.1 millones de pesos a su administración. Grrrrr…Dicho desfalco correspondiente al año fiscal 2022, del Fondo de Aportaciones para la Infraestructura Social Municipal (FAISM), registrándose a la administración de Acapulco en el 4o lugar a nivel nacional en ese rubro, de los más de 2,400 municipios que hay en el país. Grrrrr…Todo un récord, de quienes se dicen que No son iguales, pero resultaron ser peores. Grrrrr…Este desfalco detectado por la ASF de esta administración por 27.1 millones de pesos, y sin lugar a duda es sólo la punta del iceberg de lo que se ha empezado a descoser morenista, qué con su slogan de "continuidad" y el inicio de la construcción del segundo piso de la 4T y cuyas virtudes de No mentir, No robar y No engañar, No se cumplen. Grrrrr…Los problemas de Acapulco, no se van a solucionar, mientras Abelina López, siga utilizando la mentira como una herramienta para afrontar la realidad. La tome como si fuera un recurso más para mantener su ego a salvo y para manejar y relacionarse en diferentes situaciones. Esta actitud suele producir malestar en la población que no ve con buenos ojos como la alcaldesa evade su responsabilidad constitucional. Grrrrr…Más claro que ls aguas negras de la Coca Cola, no puede ser. ¿Otra vez el dinero de los acapulqueños será invertido en la promoción política de Abelina? Serán tres años muy difíciles para Acapulco bajo el poder de la mafia del poder dijera AMLO. Grrrrr…Se avistan tres años de violencia desmedida y tres años de rendición de culto a la imagen y de abandono y olvidó al puerto... cómo siempre, precisamente por esa ambición de poder de López Rodríguez, de verse “transformar Guerrero” desde la capital del estado. Soló que su protector ya fue bien pagado con su reelección y su senaduría, además de la secretaria de Economía, ya no le van a cuadrar los números. Ofelia Irene Grabowski Edery nació el 10 de septiembre en Iquitos, Perú, en 1936 en el seno de una familia de origen judío. Su padre, Segismundo Pedro Grabowski,era polaco de ascendencia asquenazí, y su madre, Julia Edery, descendiente de sefardíes franceses que emigraron a Tánger, Marruecos. Estudió en Lima en el colegio Rosa de América, y después incursionó en teatro y participó en el concurso La Más Bella del Perú.

Pronto consiguió su primer papel estelar, La Mariposa, la musa de Agustín Lara (interpretado por Germán Robles), en La vida de Agustín Lara (1959), y también participó en Escuela de verano (1959), con Tin Tan, y Una señora movida (1959), con Clavillazo.Gracias al éxito de su actuación en la película biográfica de Agustín Lara, Montesco fue contratada para interpretar papeles estelares en Vuelta al paraíso (1960), con Lilia Prado y Sergio Bustamante; Cuando regrese mamá (1961), con Rafael Bertrand y María Duval; Muchachas que trabajan (1961), con Ariadna Welter, Rosita Arenas y Angélica María; y Que me maten en tus brazos (1961), con Antonio Aguilar, Jaime Fernández y David Reynoso. Otro de sus primeros éxitos fue su participación estelar en Juan sin miedo (1961), con Luis Aguilar, y también ganó fama por sus actuaciones en El ángel exterminador (1962), de Luis Buñuel, y Santo contra las mujeres vampiro (1962), de Alfonso Corona Blake.

Incursionó en el canto con sus interpretaciones de «El que a hierro mata» y «Por ahí nomás» en Martín Romero El Rápido (1966), película western donde compartió créditos estelares con Fernando Casanova, Armando Silvestre y María Duval. Trabajó con los cómicos Marco Antonio Campos «Viruta» y Gaspar Henaine «Capulina» en Un par de robachicos (1967). Logró una de sus mejores actuaciones dramáticas en Valentín de la Sierra (1968), con Antonio Aguilar, y también son notables en su carrera las seis películas que coprotagonizó con Rodolfo de Anda, entre ellas El zurdo (1965), Un hombre peligroso (1965), Una horca para El Texano (1967) y Arriba las manos, Texano (1967).

También tuvo grandes éxitos en la televisión con sus actuaciones en las telenovelas Intriga (1968), Destino a la gloria (1968), Encadenados (1969) y El carruaje (1972),[1] en esta última interpretó a la emperatriz Eugenia de Montijo al lado del actor español Antonio Passy como el emperador Napoleón III.

Contrajo matrimonio con el actor Álvaro Ortiz, con quien tuvo un hijo. Ortiz, hermano de la productora Angélica Ortiz y tío de la actriz y cantante Angélica María, produjo la película peruana A la sombra del sol (1967), de la que fueron protagonistas él y Montesco.16 de junio de 1983, Montesco falleció en Ciudad de México El 16 de junio de 1983, Montesco falleció en Ciudad de México a los 46 años de edad, a causa de cáncer de estómago. Su cuerpo fue sepultado en una cripta dentro de la parcela de la Asociación Nacional de Actores (ANDA) del Panteón Jardín, ubicado en la misma ciudad.

A sus 92 años Chufo Llorens sigue publicando libros y como nos tiene acostumbrados lo hace con un tocho en toda regla eso si,se toma su tiempo para escribirlo,tres años después de su anterior novela “El destino de los héroes,del que por cierto publiqué en su día reseña en este blog.

Lo he leído bastante rápido,la novela se lee ágilmente la verdad si bien no es de los mejores que ha escrito,no tiene la garra de anteriores.

E si prepara a una grande festa perché il 7 novembre festeggerà 35 anni di impegno civico e sociale al fianco dei cittadini, riconfermandosi il programma satirico di informazione da Guinness, il più longevo al mondo per numero di puntate. Dietro al bancone c'è la coppia, ormai affiatatissima, formata da Alessandro Siani e Vanessa Incontrada, al terzo anno insieme. Confermate anche le Veline, la mora Cosmary Fasanelli e la bionda Anastasia Ronca, e la collaudata squadra degli inviati sparsi per l’Italia, che ogni giorno scendono in strada, rischiando botte e insulti, per smascherare abusi e soprusi con le loro inchieste. 3 years passed and now she is dead to the spotlight. Loyal fans only remember her. But, she was hard to recognize. She is a University of Madrid student in Public Health now. Nobody knows where she came from. They know she is from Sevilla. She is a madrista.

Comes in contact with the Real Madrid team where she is a part of Medical team. She becomes friends with them. She is jolly and kind. never had a bf. Joined the team during 2010.

Sergio and her have been really close for a year. He sees her as the kindest soul and pure at heart. He couldn't help but fall in love with her. She did give him a chance.

However, one day through his brother, he comes to know about her past. He asks her about everything but she didn't have it in her to tell the truth. Her trauma got the best of her and she had to see him walk away.

I see Sergio as the type who is unsure but still protects her dignity. He walked out but never stopped caring. She tells him eventually. He takes his time to understand her again, way before she could open up. In 2013, she finally tells him and he swears to protect her no matter what.

It's long but its out.

in all honesty the plot is so intricate that I might need to reread it over and over again to fully grasp it, I love the complexity though and tbh, I think this can be a fun challenge to tackle when time is on my side, the push and pull, feelings that are just ... 🤌🏻

OK, I haven't watched all Tina's films but I have watched lots of films of hers, so here I will add my ranking and a little explanation about my choosing, I hope it will be useful :)

L'Urlo (Tinto Brass) - Without any doubt I would rank this as her best role although the film is very surrealist and maybe not eveybody likes it. It was filmes in 1968, shown at some festivals in 1970 and released in 1974. Tina's role is really dramatic and great.

2. L'Uomo, L'Orgoglio, La Vendetta (Luigi Bazzoni) - Tina's role as Carmen, in this spaghetti western based on the novel Carmen by Prosper Mérimée is just perfect, she nails it every second she appears in the film. The film is good but Tina is just great.

3. Metello (Mauro Bolognini) - This is a very beautiful film and Tina makes a great performance, in fact this was her favourite film from her carrer and she loved working in it.

4. Torso (Sergio Martino) - Another film I would reccomend is Torso, for Tina's performance, the plot, the places where is filmed and for the OST!! This film is just great and one of the first films of a psycho killer ever made!

5. Corbari (Valentino Orsini) - And the last film I would reccomend (making a TOP 5 is ok? or do you want more? 😜) is Corbari. Tina's acting is great in it, her character is a very strong woman who fights for her ideals and who also takes care of her lover and friends, a very mature woman.

There are more great films in which Tina plays a smaller role such as Fellini's Casanova, but I think five films is a good list. Tina made some great choices in the films she worked in but others weren't that good, in any case she showed she was a very versatile actress that could play any kind of woman.
