Dibble being a grill dad is something I never thought I'd need. I can see this now; one summer day the sergeant comes down to the alley for a surprise inspection, and hears a ruckus. Given that Dibble has a day off, he'll just inspect in his stead, He turns the corner... and sees Dibble, clad in cheap sunglasses, horrible multicolored shirt, tan shorts and wearing socks with flip-flops. Working the grill, surrounded by the cats he's supposed to be keeping in line. Beautiful.

Mark my words, at minimum there is going to be a four year gap in U.S. military scholarship on anything to do with any topic that isn't white men.
I am not allowed to say something that is "an immutable quality of soldiers". What this means is that I can't say if someone was of any race. So I can't say someone was black. I can't say someone was asian. I can't say if they're Japanese-American. I also can't say anything about gender. So I can't say if someone's a woman. I can't say if someone's trans. I can't talk about sexuality, so I can't say if someone's gay.
This goes further than being unable to say "she's a woman" or "he was black." It also addresses any topic including them.
I cannot say "the first woman pilot," so Lieutenant Sally D. Murphy's achievement no longer matters. I cannot say "the first African-American man to be awarded the Medal of Honor," so I can't explain the significance of Sergeant William Harvey Carney's award. I cannot reference when Don't Ask, Don't Tell was enacted, or repealed, because I can't talk about gay people. I can't mention the anti-miscegenation laws that prevented the men of the 1st Filipino Regiment from marrying white women, because I can't mention race. The only reason I can even say Filipino is because that was in the unit's name. I can't write about the racial conflicts during the Vietnam era, because again, I can't mention race.
I wanted to do an article on the U.S. Army's 'ethnic battalions' in World War II, which were five units built around men who were either descendants of immigrants, or foreign aliens who volunteered for the Army, of specific nations. Austrian, Greek, Norwegian, Japanese-American, and Filipino. First strike, it was flagged because of the word 'ethnic' in the name. Second strike, the Japanese and Filipino part. Strangely, nobody had any issue with the European nations. Third, someone With Power saw the name of it and went "get rid of that as quickly as possible we do NOT want a DOGE visit to the museum."
So. You can see where that's heading.

Pairing: Tim Bradford x fem reader roommate
Warnings: surgery, Sergeant Grey foreshadowing
A/N: this takes place in season 5 episode 5 and is based on Selena Gomez's new single with Benny Blanco and Gracie Abrams.
Summary: You are best friends with Tim and have feelings for him. However he is with Ashley who annoys you.
Word Count : 2100+
Call Me When You Break Up
You and Tim have been best friends for years (maybe even more), and he’s also your roommate. He’s been there through all your hardships on and off the job. You would stay up and talk about everything even when you were taking off your makeup. It would be anything from weird situations on patrol to TV shows you both watched. But then he started dating Ashely after he worked with her father Jerry on that scavenger hunt; everything changed.
“Ugh, Ashely is here again.” You groan as Angela sits at her desk.
“What’s so bad about that?” Angela asks as she starts looking at the case file she just got.
“She’s annoying. Her voice is high-pitched, and she’s always interrupting us when we are trying to do our jobs. Even at home she just randomly shows up unannounced.” You explain to her as you both look across the room where Ashley is kissing Tim obnoxiously.
“Ah, I see. You're jealous, “she concludes with a smirk.
Recently you have been battling the lack of you and Tim. Going on dates with strangers and ending up in their beds just to suppress your feelings in the basement.
“I—I am not,” you say defensively while still stuttering lightly.
“Mhmm,” she replies, clearly not believing you, but she knows you all too well.
“Look, I’m emotionally bankrupt. It wouldn’t work out between us.” You say back.
“From what I’ve heard, he doesn’t seem so happy with her. He never speaks about her when I talk to him. I’m sure he’s got feelings for you that he’s too scared to admit. “Angela says trying to reassure you.
“Thanks, but unless he calls me when they break up, I won’t believe it.” you say back
₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩
“We should let Marshal pick the restaurant for all the sergeants' meetings,” Sergeant Grey says to Tim when they come back from the garage area.
“Nah, Ashley’s got me on this whole 30 diet, no bread,” he replies.
“You’re missing out,” Sergeant Grey says back.
‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐
“7-Adam-7 back up is needed at St. Stephen’s hospital; be advised the homicide suspect has disappeared within the hospital and is now on lockdown,” dispatch informs over the radio in your shop.
You nod at your rookie, Sara Murphy, and she picks up the radio and says, ”7-Adam-7, show us responding “.
“Good job, Boot.” You say as you hit the lights and sirens and head to the hospital.
‧₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚
When you walk into the hospital, you see Chen, Nolan, and Jaurez in the waiting room with Tim, who looks like he’s in pain.
“What happened?” you ask as you rush over to him as he winces when Lucy tries to get him into a chair.
“Nothing. I’m fine,” he says, clearly lying.
“No, you're not.” Lucy says before turning to you, "He took down a suspect, and his back started acting up.”
You look around, find the closest nurse, and wave them over.
“Lucy, you go with him, and I’ll let Sergeant Grey know that he cannot act as a supervisor. Murphy, I want you to help Nolan and Jaurez find the suspect. Do everything he tells you to do until I come back.” You explain taking charge because with Tim out of commission, you are now senior officer on scene.
“Yes, ma’am. “. Your rookie says, as you leave to go call Sergeant Grey.
₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊
“Oh, there you two are,” Sergeant Grey says as he steps into the observation room where Lopez and Harper are.
“Are you ok?” Lopez asks.
“Yeah, you’re looking kind of shiny.” Harper says.
“Yeah, I’m just feeling kind of warm. Anyway, I thought you two should know: Y/L/N called from the hospital; Tim’s out of commission, and there’s a homicide suspect on the loose. I got to go over to be a supervisor.”
“There’s a killer in the hospital with my mother, and is Tim ok?” Lopez asks, concerned for her best friend and mother.
“I don’t know the details on Tim yet, but your mother will be fine. I assigned Thorsen to her door.”.
‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧
After you call Sergeant Grey, you join the search for the homicide suspect.
“How’s it going at home with Ashley being around?” Murphy, your rookie asks.
“Boot, you know I don’t do personal questions,” you say back.
“To be clear, you said no personal questions in the shop.” She shoots back.
“Very well. Ashley is nice and all, but she’s there too often. She’s always leaving the kitchen a mess, and I can’t even talk to Tim when I need to because they're always making out or in his room and doing you know what. And I think I smelled my perfume on her last week. “You reply, sounding slightly confused about her possibly using your perfume.
“Oh, I see. You can’t even talk to him about it because she is always there and knowing you like to keep personal issues separate from work, so you can’t even talk to him about it.” Sara concludes
“Exactly,” you reply.
“You know you guys are so alike,” she says.
“What do you mean?” you ask, concerned.
“Well, from what Lucy has told me, you both are very professional and keep your personal lives separate, and you kind of have your own versions of ‘Tim Tests”. She explains.
“That reminds me I should probably go call Ashely and Genny and make sure they know he’s here,” you say, trying to change the subject.
‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐
Once you radio that the south wing is clear, you both step towards the elevator just as Sergeant Grey steps out.
“Oh, hi, Sir,” you say, greeting him before he passes out on the floor in front of you two.
“Oh no. I’ll go find a doctor,” Sara says to you before running off.
“Thank you,” you call after her as you check his pulse and call it in.
‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐
“Good thing I was on the Whole30 diet; food poisoning is no joke, “Tim says to Sergeant Grey in their shared hospital room.
“Oh, ahh, Marshal can never pick the breakfast place again.” Sergeant Grey groans in the bed next to him.
You walk into their room with Lucy and Sara in tow.
“This is kind of fun. It’s kind of like a sleepover,” Lucy says lightheartedly while Sara giggles quietly next to her.
Sergeant Grey rolls over and groans.
“Should I call the nurse?” Lucy asks, concerned.
“No, no, no, you need to get back to the station immediately,” he says while clearly in pain.
“What? Why?” Lucy asks, confused.
“Well, with both of us out of commission “, Tim starts while looking at you.
“And me having to lead the search in finding the homicide suspect.”
“And based on seniority, Smitty's in charge.” You both explain while looking nervous.
“Oh, OHHH,” Lucy says once she understands.
“You’re still standing there,” Sergeant Grey says.
“If you need anything, just call me, Lucy,” you say to her, and she thanks you before running out the door.
‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐
“You know it’s ok to be nervous, Tim,” Sergeant Grey says to reassure Tim about his surgery.
“I know, but I may or may not be able to walk after this. I’m going to go use my legs while I still can.” He says getting out of bed and putting on his hospital slides.
He stumbles into the hallway and sees a strange man that has blood on his scrubs. He knows it's the homicide suspect, so he tries to stop him, but he’s too weak from the fragment in his spine.
Sergeant Grey hears the commotion and comes out to see what's going on.
The suspect pushes Tim against the wall hard and runs and pushes Sergeant Grey as he escapes. A doctor runs down the hall and immediately takes Tim’s face in his hands, and Ashley runs over to them.
“The fragment must have moved closer to his spinal cord, and that's what's causing his paralysis. We need to do surgery now.” The doctor explains to her.
“Call my sister but don’t tell Y/N,” Tim says as Sergeant Grey walks over.
‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐
A couple of days later, while you're out with your friends, your phone rings.
“Hey, can you come back soon?” Tim asks when you pick up the phone.
“Yeah, are you ok?” You ask worriedly because he’s still on leave from his surgery.
“Yeah, I’m fine; I just need to see you,” he says a little nervously at the other end.
“Ok, I’ll be back soon," you reply, and you say goodbye to your friends.
‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐✩˚₊‧₊˚✩ 🪐
When you get home, you see Tim lounging on the couch with a beer sitting on the coffee table with the Rams game on. He’s wearing a tight grey short-sleeved shirt and grey sweatpants. Kojo is behind him in his bed, and once he hears the door shut, he happily runs over to you. He sits patiently at your feet as you take off your shoes and hang your pink Coach purse on the stand by the door.
“Hi, Kojo, "you greet while bending down to pet him. Once you stand and head over to the couch, you gesture for him to follow you.
“So, what’s up?” you ask Tim as you and Kojo plop down on the couch next to him.
He sighs nervously, grabs the remote next to him, and shuts the TV off. He takes a sip of his beer and turns his body to face you once he sets the bottle back down on the brown table in front of you.
“Well, Ashley broke up with me about a week ago," he says.
“I’m sorry, how do you feel about it?” You ask, sort of concerned.
“Well, at first, I was really upset considering she did break up with me right after I got out of surgery. “ He explains, looking at Kojo next to you.
“She did what?” You ask loud enough to startle him and Kojo.
He swallows, obviously not expecting you to react so abruptly.
“Yeah, that’s not even the worst part. She broke up with me because I didn’t want to retire. She didn’t want to go through what she’s been going through with Jerry,” he said.
“That makes me like her even less,” you grumble.
“Wait, you didn’t like her?” He asks, not knowing about your disapproval.
“Not at all. She was annoying,” you groan.
“What did she do that annoyed you?” He inquires, looking confused and concerned at the same time.
“Well, for starters, she would leave stuff out in the kitchen, and I'm pretty sure I smelled my perfume on her a couple of times,” you explain to him, clearly grateful that she wouldn’t be around anymore.
“Well, why didn’t you come to me when you had a problem with her?” He asks, sort of hurt, that you didn’t say anything. You were best friends after all.
“That’s another thing,” you start. “She was all over you so much that I couldn’t. You were always making out on the couch or doing who knows what in your room. Even at work I couldn’t escape it. I felt alone; all I had was Kojo, who I’m incredibly grateful for,” I say, turning toward him and petting his head.
“I’m sorry you felt so alone because of me. It’ll never happen again. And I mean it,” he says with a sad look on his face.
“It’s ok; it wasn’t your fault. So, was that what you needed to see me about?" You ask nervously, thinking there might be more to it than just talking about him breaking up with Ashley.
“Not exactly,” he says while sighing nervously. “I’ve been trying to figure out how to tell you this for a while now, but I've been so scared to ruin our friendship. I’m just going to come out and say it. I’ve been in love with you for at least a year now." He finally confesses.
You look at him shocked with your mouth agape. You didn’t expect him to confess.
“I’m in love with you too,” you finally say.
“So, all those nights you were gone didn’t mean anything?” He asks, remembering times you would go out and not come home until the next day with the same clothes on.
“No, I tried every possible replacement to surpass my feelings for you once you started dating Ashley. I could hear you two the nights I was here. “You explained.
He leans closer and cups your face gently and begins kissing you. You immediately start kissing him back as his soft lips brush against yours. You place your hand on his leg, and he lifts you up and sets you down in his lap, but then you remember his surgery and pull back.
“Tim, you literally had major surgery; what are you doing?” You ask heavily worried.
“I’m fine; I just want to hold you,” he protests with a cute, pouty face. “Also you taking charge the other day was hot”.
You climb off of him as you giggle at him and stand up and stick your arm out for him to grab.
“Come,” you say, and he stands up carefully and holds your hand.
You lead him into your room carefully, and Kojo follows closely. Kojo jumps on the foot of the bed while you sit by the pillows.
“Come lay down,” you say, gesturing to the space next to you.
He carefully rounds the front of your queen-sized bed and lies flat on his back.
Once you make sure he’s not in pain, you lean over, kiss his forehead, lay your head on his chest, and settle close to his side.
“I don’t think I've ever been in your room before,” he mutters above you.
“There never was a reason to,” you respond below him.
“There is now,” he chuckles softly.

Since I love both “911” and “Doctor Odyssey”, and they’re both Ryan Murphy shows, I’d love to see a hint that they’re in the same universe.
Like Tristan saying to Max “…yeah, it’s just a good thing we weren’t on that cruise ship that sunk last year…”
Avery: “Tristan…”
Tristan: “C’mon, you remember the story, Aves! There were actual pirates who took over the ship, then a big hurricane happened, and the ship actually sunk!”
Max: “I heard all the passengers got out alive, though. That’s extremely lucky.”
Avery: “One fatality among the crew. Apparently there was a female police sergeant and her husband -“
Tristan: “ - Who was a bloody firefighter -“
Avery: “ - And they helped save everybody. Pretty cool story…”

Z nation trivia
• Several of the actors/crew lived together while filming the first season in Spokane, Washington, to save on costs. This included Anastasia Baranova (Addy) and Michael Welch (Mack).
• The first season was recorded on a tight schedule, with an episode being fully recorded within six days, with most shoots only allowing three takes.
• Keith Allan (Murphy) was working for The Asylum production company as a stage hand when they were tasked with Z Nation (2014). They suggested he audition for the role of Murphy and he ended up getting the part
• In one of the episodes, survivors are seen eating "Twinkies" - a nod to Zombieland (2009).
• As the character of Murphy continued to evolve, it was decided that the blue skin aspect of the character would be removed. This was largely due to the fact that the makeup itself was extremely irritating to actor Keith Allan, causing some minor skin complications as he had no choice but to wear the make up sometimes over 12 hours a day during filming.
• As of the end of season 5, 10K's kill-count is 8,999.
• Season 3 was still filming while the first episodes of season 3 aired.
• Russell Hodgkinson, who played Steven "Doc" Beck, also appeared in Sharknado 5: Global Swarming (2017) in the same role.
• Kellita Smith currently plays Lt. Roberta Warren on Z-Nation. She then played Sergeant Roberta Warren in the movie Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! (2015). Both are productions of The Asylum.
• On December 23, 2018, Syfy canceled the series after five seasons.
• Tom Everett Scott knew when agreeing to play Garnett that his character would be killed off in episode 6 Resurrection Z (2014). Before recording the episode some producers brought up keeping his character on longer but this idea was shot down.
• According to Karl Schaefer the apocalypse of Z Nation began on November 9th 2016.
• Russell Hodgkinson (Doc) and his wife came up with the idea for 'Z Weed' while gardening in their backyard. Simply grow marijuana using compost containing dead zombie parts.
• As of Season 4, although still listed in the credits as part of the main cast, Anastasia Baranova is no longer a regular member of the cast and has been reduced to "recurring" status. Anastasia's contract is non-restricted, leaving her open to pursue other projects. During filming for Season 4, Anastasia was already tied to 3 other projects, including 2 television series and a movie. The character of Addy has therefore been temporarily written out of the show until Anastasia could commit to working on it again.
• Katy O'Brian confirmed that her character, George, is gay.
• Four different actresses have played Lucy in the series as of the end of season 3
• In the episode "Welcome to Murphytown," The Man escaped hand cuffs by cutting off his own hand. This is a reference to the movie Deadpool (2016) where he does the same thing. It also occurred in The Walking Dead when the character Merle was handcuffed on the roof. He cut his hand off to get free.
• Anastasia Baranova wanted her character, Addy, to be bi-sexual to represent more of the real world.

Aries Moon ✧ Leo Mars Allure
Tumblr media
When the mighty King, revered as Surya, the Sun itself, comes into contact with his unwavering sergeant major, Mangala, a celestial hellish harmony reaches a crescendo.
The power of Surya's unmatched authority coupled with his supreme, "cream of the crop" attitude, pairs perfectly with Mangala's sheer vitality, forcing the cosmos to bear witness to the brilliance of their reign as they not-so-modestly bask in the splendor of their shared glory.
Sun-Mars natives have an undeniable, almost boastful, stage presence- a blinding aura of raw magnetism that commands attention and cannot be rivaled. Solar sexuality awakens dormant souls- the sloths and the walking dead alike. While Mars ignites a thirst in these sleeping energies, like a general calling his men to battle. With these natives, you will often hear people call them their sexual awakening or first crush. This placement will have the public biting at your heels to get your attention.
The souls of these natives crave victory and recognition, subconsciously knowing that they will achieve all they desire on sheer will alone.

Masculines better embody the energies of this union, gifting them a warm, but regal disposition. Since this influence is manifesting through the moon, the thirst for bloodshed and aggression of this placement is toned down, resulting in a presence that exudes power without the need for boastfulness, displaying instead a humble swagger—confident but not arrogant. Their masculinity is subtle yet absolute, comfortable in their own skin without forcing the energy or pushing for dominance.

"Puppy Love" Chapter Five: Anything but Normal Day OR There’s No Place like Home
Tumblr media
chapter five: 4.9k words
It had been two days since Garnett had died. Warren was nearly catatonic and hadn’t spoken a word or shed a single tear since she mercied him. To your confusion, 10K also had not spoken more than three words—not to you, at least. Something had happened at Province Town between the two of you, but you had no idea what it could have been. Your mind kept going back to what he had muttered to himself right before the shot went off that killed Garnett. Looking back on it, you could’ve sworn he had said something like, “—gone with Cassandra.” Had he not wanted you to follow him? You were just trying to help. It was no use dwelling on it, but your mind still spun whenever you’d catch 10K staring at you and when he’d abruptly look away and avoid eye contact.
The group had made it to Kansas. You had only just left, five months back, but here you were again. You had stayed a year and a half longer after the tornado that took your friends from you. You had planned to stay away; you had gone so far northeast for a reason. The flat plains, flying by as the truck drove down an abandoned highway, reminded you of your memories here, both good and bad.
Citizen Z was speaking over the radio, giving one final salute to Sergeant Charles Garnett. You glanced at Warren, but her face held no emotion.
Suddenly, the radiator began smoking, and Doc was forced to pull to the side of the road. Addy and Mack had found a dirt bike back in Missouri, and they were driving up ahead but turned around when they realized you had stopped. When they reached your group, they hopped off the bike. 10K had dropped down from his spot in the truck bed and was climbing under the truck.
“Gee, if we only had a mechanic,” Muphy said, pointedly. Warren was in the backseat, completely lost to the rest of you.
“You gotta let her deal, man,” Doc said. “She’s got that post-traumatic stress.” Murphy wasn’t buying it, saying that everyone was stressed, all the time. He walked over to the open window on her side and repeatedly poked her. Whatever he said to her didn’t seem to convince her to come out.
“Alright,” Mack said, “Addy and I will scout up ahead. See if we can get some help.” You turned to look down the long, barren highway. There wasn’t much to see, and you weren’t sure you liked the idea of splitting the group up.
“We will?” Addy asked. The two of them discussed it before heading off. You gave Addy a hug before they left. As the bike started up, you waved goodbye, unsure of when you would see them again. You watched them drive off, leaving you all in their dust.
“I found the leak in the radiator hose,” 10K said from under the truck. He pulled himself out. “Taped it up a little bit, but we’re not going anywhere unless we get some water in there.” You immediately began digging around in your pack; you found your water bottle and handed it over. All your water, along with the rest of the group’s, was dumped into the radiator. You needed to remember to fill up the next chance you got. Once the truck was ready, 10K popped up and said, “I’ll drive.” You didn’t even know he could drive.
10K couldn’t drive. And he admitted as much. You and Cassandra shared a scared look before buckling up, glad you had decided to sit inside the truck instead of out in the bed. At least 10K seemed to be in a good mood. You, however, were feeling a bit sick. You closed your eyes and took deep breaths in and out.
A little ways down the road, after 10K had gotten the hang of driving, the vehicle came to a fork in the road. “Go right,” Murphy instructed.
“Why right?” Doc asked.
“Why not?” You couldn’t exactly argue with that logic.
Even more down the road, there came a series of signs. “No Z’s,” Doc read. “That’s a good sign.” You snorted at the pun. The next sign read that there was a gun show happening, today only. “Getting interesting.” The last sign came up. “Liquor! Now you’re talking. Murphy, we’re gonna have to let you navigate more often.” Murphy and Doc laughed. “Congratulations, son,” Doc said to 10K. “You’re now the designated driver.” You let out a single bark of a laugh at his misfortune.
“What’s that mean?” he asked. You thought it was incredibly endearing how out-of-touch he could be. You gave him a smile when he looked at you through the rearview, but he quickly shifted his gaze. Your face instantly dropped, and it seemed as though Cassandra noticed. She took your hand and gave it a comforting squeeze. You had no idea where you had gone wrong.
When you made it down the road to where the signs had been leading you, the truck was stopped by a couple of heavily armed men. “Y’all armed?” one of them asked.
“Obviously,” Cassandra said.
“Good. We don’t have time to babysit anyone.” They let you in.
Warren finally perked up at the mention of liquor. It was the first time she had willingly gotten out of the truck for anything other than bathroom breaks, so you weren’t about to discourage her as your group made your way to the entrance.
The woman sitting outside the gates welcomed your group and told you the entry fee was seven. You didn’t have seven of anything other than knives, and you weren’t about to part with those. Doc was bartering with some crystal he said he had back in the truck when the man sitting nearby said, “Back off with the toilet bowl cleanser meth. We only take that genuine, vein splitting, take you right out of this beautiful apocalypse and into a hell-hole meth.” You had no idea what he was talking about, but it seemed that Doc recognized the guy.
The man, who Doc called Sketchy McClain, gave you free entry. He walked you all over to his truckload of weapons that he had procured from a couple he had to mercy. He asked where Addy was, noticeably not mentioning Mack, and Doc explained that they’d gone ahead and had thought they might end up here. “No, haven’t seen them,” Sketchy said. “And I’m pretty sure I’d notice,” he joked. You scrunched up your nose in disgust and rolled your eyes. “What about these two? Never seen you ladies before,” he addressed you and Cassandra. “And I’m pretty sure I’d notice,” he repeated, this time with a wink. You crossed your arms over your chest.
“What’s all this?” Doc jumped in and changed the subject. Sketchy took the bait and showed off some of the weapons they had for sale.
“Just sit back, relax, and forget about the apocalypse,” he said.
“Aren’t you worried about the Z’s?” Cassandra asked.
“Look around. We’re in the middle of nowhere, Kansas. We’re surrounded by hundreds of square miles of nothing but fallow farmlands. There’s no Z’s here—nothing for them to eat. They’ve all moved on to the big cities.”
You nodded, agreeing. “When I was last here, I only ever encountered maybe three dozen Z’s over the course of two years. We should be fine,” you reassured your friends. This seemed to reassure Cassandra, at least.
“Don’t worry. I’ll protect you,” Sketchy told Cassandra. Nobody acknowledged the comment, and he pivoted to the bar nearby. All Warren needed to hear was “moonshine” before she was off. You wouldn’t mind a drink yourself, so you followed after her. You were also worried that she’d drink herself under the table.
In the bar, you weren’t surprised to find that it was a dingy, little place. You sat next to Warren at the bar, and she flagged down the bartender. He poured you each a drink, and you shot it back. The burning sensation wasn’t unpleasant, but the taste was unlike any booze you’d had before. You coughed, and your eyes watered. “Jesus,” you muttered. Warren didn’t look the least bit affected, and she pounded her glass against the table to ask for more. The bartender poured her one and offered you another, but you shook your head. “One’s enough for me, thanks.”
There was a man in the corner, strumming an unplugged, electric guitar. You hadn’t seen or heard live music in ages, so you went to sit closer. Doc, Cassandra, and 10K came through the doors. You noticed Murphy go over to talk to Doc, the two of them looking over at Warren. Doc walked farther into the room before raising his voice and asking, “Anybody know anybody in here named Wannamaker?”
“Who wants to know?”
“Oh, we’re just looking to trade. You know, just a little business. My friend said he might have a vehicle.” The bartender pointed Doc in the direction of a man that was passed out under a table. When he didn’t wake up, Doc turned to a man nearby.
You turned your attention back to the guitarist, and he gave you a small smirk and a wink. You smiled back, nervously, and he scooted closer to you. He stopped strumming now and was instead trying to engage you in conversation. You just nodded politely. He continued to move into your space, and you looked to your friends, hoping for a way out. Cassandra and Doc were listening intently to the drunk man in front of them as he rambled on about his “Formanmobile.” Luckily, you were able to catch 10K’s eye, but right as he was going to look away as he had been each time your gazes met, the man beside you wrapped his arm around your shoulder. This made 10K do a double-take, and this time he was able to see the discomfort in your face. In a few, quick strides, he made it over to where the pair of you were sitting. He held out his hand to you but was looking at the man. “Come on,” was all he said.
“Oh, yeah, okay,” you stuttered out as you took his hand. He pulled you up, but the man grabbed your other hand.
“Where you goin’, baby?” he asked. You tried to free your hand, but his grip was solid.
“Shooting,” 10K said as he readjusted the strap of his rifle, making sure it was visible to the man. The man let go of your hand and placed his above his head in surrender.
“Fine. Not worth it, anyway.” You quickly turned heel and followed 10K out of the bar. The moment you were outside, he dropped your hand.
This was your chance. The two of you were alone, and he had just come to your rescue. “Hey, can we talk?” you asked, looking up at him nervously through your lashes.
He eyed you up and down. When he licked his lips, you were sure that he was about to open up to you and beg for forgiveness, explaining his behavior. Instead, you watched his face take on a stoney, blank expression. “Can’t,” he said, turning without giving you another look. He stalked off towards Doc and Cassandra, and you let out a shaky breath. You turned back around to the bar, debating going back in and drowning your sorrows with Warren, but Cassandra called out your name and waved you over. You sighed, plastered on a smile, and jogged over to where they were standing in line for sign-ups. Apparently, 10K was going to compete in a shooting contest for some fancy gun. You were upset with him, but you still wanted to support him. So, you stood in line.
Once you were near to the front, Doc said, “Let’s hope they’ll take a busted up truck for the entrance fee.”
“That’s our only transpo,” you said. “How are we gonna make it to California without it?”
“Once 10K here wins that monster of a gun, we’re gonna trade up for a new vehicle.”
“But…10K deserves that gun. He’s the best sharpshooter here; I guarantee it. Why can’t he keep it?” You glanced at 10K, who had a slight pink tint to his cheeks. He was ignoring you, but he couldn’t completely shut you out. This realization that you were still getting through to him brought a small smile to your face. The smile instantly dropped as you watched 10K unabashedly check out a girl around your age while she was walking by after signing up herself. Your eyebrows knit together as she checked him out in return. You watched Cassandra and Doc give each other a look that said something you didn’t understand. “What?” you asked, your mood officially soured once again.
“Nothing, darling. Nothing at all.” Doc ruffled your hair, and you quickly combed it back into place with your fingers as you stepped up farther in line.
“Boys are clueless,” Cassandra whispered so that only you could hear. Your ears heated up.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Doc and Cassandra shared another look. “I’m gonna go look at their knife selection. Let me know when the competition starts.” You grumbled and walked away.
“I’ll come with you!” Cassandra said as she jogged to catch up with you. You sighed in resignation, although you were secretly grateful for the company.
Their knife selection was disappointing. They had nothing small enough to throw—at least, not accurately. Frustrated, you took one of your own knives and threw it into a nearby tree trunk. As you went to retrieve it, a voice came from behind you. “Woah, little mama, what’d that tree ever do to you?” You yanked your knife out and turned around. It was the guitarist from the bar.
“Call me that again, and the next one goes in your face.” You shoved past him, glad you were in public so that he couldn’t try anything. He spit on the ground after you as you walked away, calling you a “teasing whore” loud enough for some passersby to turn and look. Cassandra was about to get all up in his face, but you pulled her back and told her it wasn’t worth it. “Let’s just go,” you told her. She frowned but followed you.
While Doc and 10K continued to wait in line, you and Cassandra walked around the grounds and checked out all the weapons on sale. Neither of you were actually looking to trade-not that you had anything you’d be willing to trade anyway—but you needed something to do. Something away from the drama that seemed to surround you and 10K.
“What’s up with you guys?” Cassandra asked as you passed over the third table full of guns you’d seen in the last five minutes.
“What do you mean? Who?”
“You and 10K, obviously,” she said.
“Oh,” you replied. You avoided eye contact with her, hoping that she wouldn’t be able to tell just how hurt you had been at his recent actions towards you. Of course, she could tell. “I don’t know. I think I pissed him off somehow, but I can’t figure out what I did wrong.”
“Have you tried asking him?”
“He won’t talk to me!” You turned to her, exasperated. The vendor at the table told you to scoot if you weren’t going to buy anything, so the two of you walked away from the makeshift stalls and headed towards an empty picnic table. You couldn’t see Doc and 10K from this position, but you had a perfect view of where the competition was being set up, so you would know when it was time to join them once again. “I tried talking to him just outside the bar earlier, but he walked away from me. I don’t know what to do, Cass,” you whined.
“Boy problems in the middle of the zombie apocalypse,” Cassandra chuckled, shaking her head and smiling at you. You groaned and covered your face in your hands.
“It sounds so stupid when you say it like that!”
“It sounds so normal!” she countered. “Normal people problems are a nice thing to have when the alternative is what it is.”
“I guess you’re right,” you mumbled. She pulled your hands away from your face, and you gave her a weak and shaky smile. It wobbled as you said, “What am I gonna do? The boy I like won’t even look at me—” Cassandra cut you off.
“Ah-ha!” she said as though you had just revealed something groundbreaking and not something she already knew and had made clear that she knew. “Addy owes me a drink next time we see her.” You pushed her away from you playfully, but she just shot you an impish grin.
“You and Addy were betting on me? Not cool!” You tried your best to sound serious and upset, but you had to admit that it brought a small smile to your face.
“Took you long enough to admit it! Now she’s not even here to see me claim my victory. SMH.”
“OMG, you did not just say ‘SMH’,” you mocked her. She laughed and rolled her eyes at you.
“Yeah, okay, kid. Laugh it up.”
“You’re barely older than me!”
“Tell that to my two-year community college degree,” she teased.
“Not fair! I didn’t even get the opportunity to go to any kind of college,” you faux pouted. “And besides, not like you’re getting much use out of that degree; are you, grandma?”
“Clinical psychology and a minor in field biology are extremely useful in these trying times, actually,” Cassandra joked. “But seriously,” her voice sobered, “what are you going to do? About 10K?” You sighed and ran a hand over your hair.
“What can I do?” you asked.
“Tell him how you feel, maybe.” Your head whipped up, your eyes wide and staring at her.
“Are you crazy? I can’t just tell him I like him,” you hissed at her, your voice low and quiet so that no one nearby could eavesdrop.
“Okay, maybe you can’t come out and say it. But what if you could find some way to show it? Maybe that’d be enough for him to get the hint and stop acting like such a dick.” You nodded slowly, taking her advice to heart. Could that work? Words hadn’t gotten through to him, but it was possible that your actions could. “Something to think about,” she said, shrugging and getting up from the table as you saw Doc and 10K make their way to the competition field. You followed her, lost in thought.
You and Cassandra returned to Doc, just as 10K was catching up with the girl from earlier. You let out a huff but watched silently as 10K took his position. Doc was coaching him and rubbing his shoulders. Sketchy was explaining the rules. You just wanted to get this over with and get out of Kansas.
“Hey, darling. Who was that guy?” Doc asked you when you rejoined them. Apparently, he had been watching you two and witnessed your unpleasant interaction with the guitarist.
You sighed and pushed your hair away from your sweaty forehead. “Just some creep. Who knows what he wanted.”
“I can probably guess,” Cassandra said with a scowl and a narrowing of her eyes as she looked in his direction.
“Hey, maybe he could be my first kiss,” you joked without an ounce of humor in your tone. You were tired and didn’t want to think about pervy guitarists or cute snipers. Unfortunately, said cute sniper seemed to have overheard your and Cassandra’s conversation, and he was looking back at you. When you met his eyes, he frowned, shook his head, and turned toward the field as the shooting targets made their way across it. You looked to Cassandra, and she just gave you a similar reaction. You sighed and traded your attention from their disapproving looks towards the field as the competition began.
The targets were zombies, parading in a straight line after an ice cream truck. The jingle was attracting them, and it was such a ridiculous sight that you let out a sarcastic snort. 10K easily headshot each Z, round after round.
A commotion near the vehicles drew your attention. Murphy was being cornered by a group of armed men. You, Doc, and Cassandra hurried over, hoping to deescalate whatever problem Murphy had gotten himself into this time. One man, the one your friends had been talking to in the bar earlier, held his gun to Murphy’s temple. Just as he pulled the trigger, Cassandra moved his arm, and the bullet missed. Doc then had to grapple the man, and he let out another shot. You finally got in there, attempting to disarm the man, but his gun fired one, final time. In the scuffle, one of the other men shot the main guy. In the heart. Before you could properly mercy him, a Z with his pants around his ankles came lurching out of the outhouse.
The guitarist yelled out, “Zombies!” You, Doc, Cassandra, and Murphy ran like hell. Doc left Murphy in the truck, and you, he, and Cassandra went to go collect 10K and Warren.
Unfortunately, 10K was still in the competition—just one of three shooters left. You couldn’t leave now. Not when he was so close.
“Why are you called Ten Thousand?” you heard the female sniper ask.
“It’s how many Z’s I plan to kill.”
“How many you got?”
“Not counting today…”
“2,119,” you said along with him. Both he and the girl looked back at you. His eyes were wide, and you were embarrassed that you had known that. The girl faced forward once again, but 10K’s eyes stayed on you.
“I’ll still get more than you today,” the girl said. 10K snapped out of it and turned back around, shaking his head as if shaking you out of his mind.
“Maybe,” he said. “Maybe not.” 10K easily headshot the next Z. The three of you cheered him on. “You ready to give up?” he asked the girl.
“Never.”
“Never?”
“If this is your attempt at trying to psych me out, it’s failing miserably.” The man who was with her—you assumed he was her father—told her to stay focused. “That gun is mine.” You weren’t an expert, but you felt tension. And not just the competitive kind.
“Zombies!” Sketchy’s partner, Skeezy, called out. You turned to look. “Zombies inside the perimeter!” Sure enough, Z’s had begun to invade. The competition was still on, however.
It was the final round. You held your breath as 10K fired the first shot. Then, when the girl fired and the bullet went directly through the hole 10K had just created, you exhaled harshly. You had to admit, it was impressive. Skeezy declared it a tie which meant there was one more, sudden-death round to determine the winner.
“So, come on over and see me and put down your bets before the next round!” Sketchy announced through his traffic cone microphone. As people went and placed their bets, you decided to be brave. You went over and leaned down next to 10K. He pretended to be looking through his scope and preparing for the next shot, trying to ignore you, but you knew he felt your presence because he stiffened, and his jaw clenched.
It was now or never if you wanted to show 10K how you felt.
“Hey,” you started, and his head cocked ever so slightly to the side. “Look, I don’t know what’s going on between us right now, but I want you to know that I believe in you. I think you’ve got a real shot at this.” You paused. “No pun intended.” He looked as if he was holding back an annoyed but amused smirk, and this spurred you on. “You’ve got this,” you said, and you quickly leaned in and gave him a peck on the cheek. He whirled his head around just as you hastily turned and walked back to Doc and Cassandra. You couldn’t make eye contact with any one of them, but Cassandra nudged you with her elbow.
Fortunately for your embarrassment but unfortunately in every other regard, a horde of zombies was rapidly approaching. “We got a couple of fresh runners!” Sketchy called out, ready to use this to his advantage. The last round of the competition seemed to have come down to who could kill the most Z’s. 10K and the girl were able to easily put down the two runners.
10K even had to mercy the driver of the ice cream truck as a pack of zombies descended on him. One clean shot to the forehead declared him the winner. You, Doc, and Cassandra congratulated him before pulling him to his feet and rushing him over to the prize table. You hadn’t seen 10K smile so wide in a long time as he was handed his prize. But you didn’t have time to relish his happiness. You had to get out of there as fast as you could.
Doc and Cassandra ran ahead, and you headed for Warren. 10K didn’t follow you, so you looked back to see that he had gone with the other girl. You bit the inside of your cheek and kept running for the bar. You had to smash in the skulls of two Z’s, but you made it to the bar just as Warren was walking out. You called her name and watched as she expertly killed the pantsless Z from earlier. “Come on,” she said to you.
The two of you killed every Z in your path as you made your way back to the truck. Warren was on fire, and she almost seemed to be back to her regular self. She killed twice as many Z’s as you because at some point, you had become so entranced with watching her work that you could no longer move. You saw Doc and Cassandra nearby, in a similar state. “You’re looking better,” Cassandra said.
“Who’s next?” Warren asked. You had chills.
The four of you returned to the truck together, in silence. Once you were there, 10K was still nowhere in sight. You had been waiting for a couple of minutes when Murphy said, “How much longer are we going to wait for him?”
“Not much,” Warren responded.
“We can’t leave without him!” you said, indignantly.
“He’ll be here,” Doc insisted.
Just then, 10K came running up to the truck, yelling out, “Hey!” A grin broke out on your face but was quickly replaced with horror as you watched a Z come up from behind and grab him. You tried to climb over Murphy to get out of the truck, but the man was not budging. Warren was able to get out, luckily, but was unable to get a clear shot. “Get him!” 10K shouted, struggling against the Z’s strength.
“I can’t get a shot!”
“Hold him steady, kid!”
“I can’t,” he said. Just as you had switched tactics and began to climb over Cassandra to get out of the truck, the zombie’s head exploded. There was the girl from the competition, come to save his life. She was wielding 10K’s prize rifle. You got out anyway and ran to 10K’s side. You took his face in your hands, trying to make sure he hadn’t been hit by anything other than zombie guts, but he kept his eyes and a smile trained on the girl. She smiled back. Doc quickly pulled 10K away, trying to get him into the truck. The girl gave you a friendly wave as she got into her mini-van, and you waved back sheepishly. She was cute. And she was nice. And she had saved his life. Hell, who wouldn’t like her? You jumped into the back once more, after giving a final look to the girl.
10K was shell-shocked. Love-stricken, you might say. You couldn’t blame him. Still, it was one rejection too many, and you could feel your little, unrequited crush fizzling out. Maybe the two of you would only ever be friends. Did he even want to be your friend? You needed to know what had gone so wrong between the two of you, but you decided to give him space. You weren’t going to bother him anymore.
You turned toward the window and fell asleep, exhausted and still feeling a slight buzz—from both the shot you had taken earlier and the kiss you had given. Before you had fully drifted off, your eyes closed, you overheard a whispered conversation between 10K and Doc.
“She kissed me,” 10K said, awe in his voice. Your heart skipped a beat.
“I know, kid. We were there,” Doc chuckled.
“What?” 10K seemed confused, so Doc said your name. “Oh. No, not her.” Your heart skipped another beat, but it was an entirely different feeling this time. “Brittany. The sniper. The girl who just saved me.”
“Damn, kid!” Doc said, clapping him on the shoulder. “Two kisses from two pretty girls in one day! Somebody’s got game.”
“Do you think she liked me?”
“You gotta be more specific.”
“Brittany.”
You felt a pit form in your stomach. A single tear, born from both anger and sadness, slipped down your cheek. You forced yourself to ignore the rest of their conversation as you fell into a fitful sleep.

Still getting the hang of writing Coyle and his dynamic with my reagent so I wrote a lil thing about the in-universe acquisition of Murphy :3 CLOSEST THING TO FLUFF THESE BITCHES WILL EXPERIENCE. I also stuck with the name Ira for my reagent because he's a self insert anyway, whateverrrr
Ira could hear and smell Leland Coyle coming before he could even see him; The rhythmic thudding of his boots against tile and the cigarette smoke that preceded him were unmistakable. Ira stiffened in his bed, sitting at tense attention; There was never any guessing what sort of mood the officer would be in which always set him on edge. Coyle pushed the door to Ira's small cell open and casually leaned against the door frame to regard him cooly without a greeting. He seemed even taller outside of the trials somehow, probably due to him not slouching without having to lug around the heavy battery that powers his shock baton, but also because of the unnatural nature of his presence - he felt out of place here, his presence looming and imposing, like seeing a wolf waltz into a public park. Ira was so accustomed to seeing him snarling and lashing out like a wild animal that seeing him in any other state was almost more unnerving. Coyle watched the reagent for a beat too long, his expression unreadable as his eyes scanned across his body and came to rest upon the thing held in his lap.
"What in the Sam Hill is that thing?" Coyle drawled out, jabbing a finger at the stuffed animal in his arms.
"Oh, this is Mr. Lopsa… Dr. Easterman gave him to me." Ira held up the stuffed bunny, revealing its' worn rubber face plastered with a smile that was likely meant to come across as cheeky or mischievous but just made the thing look downright demonic. Coyle's expression visibly soured at mention of the doctor, his jaw tightening around his cigarette.
"Well it's ugly as shit," Coyle said gruffly as he stepped forward and snatched the rabbit from Ira's arms.
"Coyle!" Ira protested but Coyle ignored him, regarding the ugly thing with a sneer before tucking it under his arm.
"There's no reason you need this. You're not Easterman's dog." Ira's expression immediately fell, his eyes becoming glassy with tears over the loss of his one comfort in this sterile, soulless place. He resembled a kicked puppy, so much so that it even elicited the slightest pang of pity from Coyle. The feeling made his insides twist in a way that was foreign and deeply uncomfortable, so his next words came out quick and harsh,"Don't you start sniveling. Makes you look like a girl." Ira remained placidly silent, his mournful gaze shifting to the far wall - he was starting to dissociate, Coyle could see that he was starting to lose him. Coyle really hated it when Ira did that.
"Look, this stupid thing was probably mass produced in some commie sweatshop anyway. You can get a better one, something American made!" Coyle proclaimed as he began to pace, reminding Ira of a drill Sergeant from a war movie. "What's your favorite animal?" He suddenly asked, halting on his heels to face Ira again. Ira paused at the question, blinking blankly as he stared back at Coyle. "Come on Ira it's an easy question, favorite animal." Coyle pressed, snapping his fingers impatiently.
"Anteaters…" Ira answered slowly, his voice flat and quiet.
"Christ boy, why do you gotta be so weird? Why couldn't you have chosen somethin' normal like wolves or cats?" Coyle shot back with a snort.
Ira's brows furrowed in vague irritation and he retorted,"Oh yeah well what's your favorite animal?" Coyle grinned - Ira was engaging again, pulled back from the brink of that perilous abyss he seemed to be constantly teetering on.
"Wolverines. Now there's a good animal. Ferocious and meaner than Hell."
Ira had to admit that he wasn't surprised. If Leland Coyle were any animal, he could easily see him being a wolverine. What would that make him, then? Whatever wolverines prey upon. He supposed.
"Now you just sit pretty. I'll get you an anteater." Before Ira even had time to register his words the Sergeant was gone, his boots stomping against the floor as he marched off.
Ira didn't think much about the encounter for the new few days - he was far too preoccupied with the string of stressful trials he underwent. He was sitting on his bed grimacing and rubbing the sore spot on his hip where he received a blast of teeth-buckshot from Franco earlier when Coyle made his reappearance.
"Am I a man of my word or what?" Coyle asked proudly as he sauntered in, one hand held behind his back. When Ira raised a questioning eyebrow at him Coyle brought his hand forward to present what he had been hiding - an anteater stuffed animal. Ira's expression lit up with surprise and glee and he eagerly took the plush from Coyle, cradling it in a hug. It was soft and fit perfectly in Ira's arms, much to his delight, and carried the faint scent of the cigarette smoke that constantly clung to Coyle.
"You better appreciate it, you have no idea how difficult it was to get my hands on somethin' this niche from the outside." Ira's gaze shifted back up to Coyle and there was a tenderness there that Coyle had never seen. When the reagent spoke his voice was sincere and deliberate,
"I do… a lot. Thank you, Coyle." Coyle shifted his stance and crossed his arms, humming gruffly in reply. Somehow he hadn't expected a reaction like that.
"Good," He finally said with a satisfied nod. "You keep that in mind when you start feelin' a certain way about the doc. How he got you some mass produced garbage he likely gives out to any Reagent - you're not special to him, not like you are to me."

White Wolf's Bane Masterlist - Bucky/Reader and Bucky/OFC Series by BirdOfHermes (LokisBirdofHermes)

So I know that I only post my Loki/Reader and Thor/Reader content to this blog, but I felt like I'd be missing out by not posting my Bucky/Reader and Bucky/Original Female Character series here for people to find on their own as well. I'm not sure if people are sharing my Bucky/Reader fics on Tumblr the way they do my Harry/Murphy or Loki and Thor/Reader content, so I'll just dump it here just in case.
This is in chronological order of when I posted them. I'll reblog with updates and new links as I write and post more content.
White Wolf's Bane series page
Anchor: You are the lead agent for a SHIELD tactical unit and you've run several missions with James "Bucky" Barnes, but something awful happens and you're the only one who can help him. Bucky realizes he's not as okay as he thought he was and decides to seek some solace by becoming your friend. And maybe more. Pre Falcon and the Winter Soldier series AU.
The Winter Suitor: In this modern world, Mr. Bucky Barnes is a little behind the times, so he asks you to help him navigate the world of online dating. He's a regular at your diner and so he drops by to get tips on the best way to woo a lady of interest. Turns out, though, maybe you're both wooing someone a little closer to home.
Based on a line from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier show about Bucky trying online dating.
Kick It Up a Notch: You are a SHIELD Agent working with Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes on an assignment to bring down a Russian arms dealer named Claudia Petrov. You're undercover as the Winter Soldier's new handler, but the arms dealer decides she wants a piece of him in a way that has nothing to do with assassinations. Needless to say, you're unamused and things quickly kick themselves up a notch as you deal with the fallout of her "request." Post Endgame, pre Falcon and the Winter Soldier series AU.
One Size Fits All: You are a SHIELD field agent on assignment with Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes to retrieve some stolen SHIELD technology at an illegal auction at a white tie event. Out of all the things that could go wrong, your SHIELD-issued disguise doesn't fit due to your shapely body, so you and Bucky are forced to come up with another plan to complete the mission. And as you do, you discover that maybe there is a little more to this partnership than you thought. Pre Falcon and Winter Soldier series.
Thursday Blues: You've come down with a rotten case of the Thursday Blues. Thankfully, it turns out the cure is one James "Bucky" Barnes. Bucky/Reader.
Avenging Angel: You're walking home one night in New York and the unthinkable happens--a mugger attacks you. Fortunately, you have an avenging angel in your corner in the form of one Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes. Bucky/Reader.
Comfortable: You're pretty sure you were the first SHIELD agent slash spy to ever say the words, “shit, I forgot my weighted blanket.”
In which you, a SHIELD agent working with Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes on a mission in what remains of Sokovia, forgot to pack your weighted blanket and have anxiety and therefore cannot sleep without it, so Bucky comes up with an alternative solution. Pre Falcon and the Winter Soldier, post Endgame. Bucky/Reader.
El Tango de la Boda: You are a SHIELD agent who gets tapped for a mission with Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes: attend a wedding and intercept the sale of an illicit item. The catch is the exchange is at the target's wedding, so you and Bucky have to pretend to be a married couple. And you both realize you're way too good at being a fake couple for some reason. Bucky/Reader one-shot.
The Cookout: Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes has been granted the highest honor: attending your family cookout. However, he knows the only way to be invited back is to make the potato salad properly, so you teach Bucky how to make it and then it's off to hang out with your family. Will Bucky fit in? Bucky/Black Female Reader.
I'm Just a Square in Social Circle: You are having an extremely hard time taking the next step in any of your romantic relationships. You're painfully shy and nervous when it comes to the physical stuff and after a third potential beau turns you down, you ask your close friend Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes for advice. And it turns out Bucky has an idea. Bucky/Reader.
Die Another Day: Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes has been kidnapped by ex-Hydra agents who want to turn him back into the Winter Soldier, but they're inside an unsanctioned zone for American agents. You're told that Bucky can't be rescued, but you're not about to sit on your ass and let them torture him, so you plan a rescue by yourself. Bucky/Reader.
Defrosting: You and Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes are working on an assignment in Siberia to stop a bunch of gun runners, but you fall through the ice on a frozen lake while chasing the suspects and nearly freeze to death. You receive a tip that Volkov will be at an exclusive BDSM club and it is vital that you secure evidence from his cell phone to arrest and convict him, meaning you need to distract him for exactly five minutes while his phone is being cloned. You and Bucky will pose as a dominant and submissive couple entertaining him for those vital five minutes, resulting in a drastic change in your partnership and relationship. Bucky/Reader.
Just When I Thought I'd Seen It All: Bucky's being dragged to one of Sam Wilson's legendary Halloween costume parties and begs you to go with him so he'll have someone to talk to. Think Twice: You are a SHIELD agent who's been invited to a work Christmas party and so you beg your close friend, Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes, to come along with you to keep you company. At the Christmas party, you find out there is a male coworker who is interested in you and suddenly, Bucky says a few things without thinking twice and your relationship is headed for a drastic change.
Kiss of Life: You are the personal assistant to one Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes--a top notch lawyer who works with veterans. Everything's going great...until one day you come in and find that Bucky is in trouble. It turns out your benevolent boss is actually an incubus whose usual "donors" have suddenly abandoned him, meaning he has to feed tonight or he'll die. And seeing as he doesn't have anyone else, you volunteer as tribute and things get complicated. Bucky/Reader AU.

Distracted: You are a SHIELD medic on mission with Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes and the worst happens--you're caught by a Hydra agent and nearly killed, but Bucky saves you at the last second. You're now left dealing with the trauma of almost dying and the last person you ever expected to console you comes to your aid. Bucky/Reader.
The Buffer: You are a SHIELD agent on an assignment with a team to bust Hydra bases and you get hit with an experimental gun that was powered by the Mind Stone, giving you accidental telepathy and empathy. Bucky offers to take care of you alone since he's got such tight control over his emotions, effectively becoming your emotional buffer until your SHIELD team finds the man who shot you and reverse-engineers an antidote to the telepathy. It's going to be a bumpy ride in the meantime. Bucky/Reader.
A Welcome Distraction: It's one of the worst cliches in all of fiction, but you're smack dab in the middle of it--you come home early from work one night to find your boyfriend cheating on you with another woman, so you head to a nearby bar to drink away your troubles. It turns out that's a bar where Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes is a regular, and he offers to help take your mind off your woes. Post Falcon and Winter Soldier. Bucky/Black Female Reader.
The Accountant: Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes is settling into life after the Flag Smashers and needs a little bit of help, which is where he meets you: a SHIELD accountant proficient with SHIELD's wonky printers in the copy room. You strike up a friendship that is going well until one day, a rather unusual circumstance makes you avoid Bucky for the foreseeable future. Will your friendship survive a little awkward thing like having a smoking hot wet dream about the sergeant? Bucky's POV.
Armed and Dangerous: You are a barista at a coffee shop where Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes begins to frequent. You're fascinated with the sight of him and that vibranium arm, being an engineer working on her masters' degree, but you're too nervous to approach him. Then one day, Sergeant Barnes decides to introduce himself. Two-shot BuckyReader.
Cry to Me: You go over to your boyfriend's place after leaving work early only to find out he's been cheating on you with a coworker. Distraught, you return home and your next door neighbor, Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes, overhears you screaming at your ex-boyfriend over the phone. It turns out he's a bakery shop owner and offers to make you some sweets to help heal your broken heart and offers to teach you how to make sweets at home. You take him up on the offer and find that Bucky himself is sweeter than anything he makes in his shop. Baker Bucky/Reader AU.
Fractured: You are a former Black Widow who was broken free of the control after Natasha Romanov destroyed the program. You've been using your freedom to right the wrongs that the Black Widow program forced you to carry out, but one night you run into Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes on an op. You and he were part of a joint venture between the Black Widow program and Hydra to produce another Super Soldier through impregnation, but it never took. And this is the first time you've seen him since you both were freed from mind control, so there is a lot of trauma for two fractured people to get through together. Bucky/Asset Reader.
The Gentle Men: You, a PR rep for the Avengers, just went on yet another absolutely terrible date. Steve and Bucky are sympathetic to your troubles and offer to take you out themselves to show you a good time and to prove there are still gentlemen out there in the world. And things get even more interesting at the end of the night after you make a joke and find out both Avengers are more down bad for you than you thought. Bucky/Reader/Steve. Post Civil War, pre Infinity War AU.
A Cradle Song: You and Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes are happily married and have been for a couple of years. Bucky returns from a SHIELD mission with some food for thought--parenthood. He asks if you want to have a family someday. After careful consideration, you realize you'd love to have a baby with Bucky Barnes. Bucky/Reader babyfic.
Too Sweet: You are a SHIELD agent who regularly runs missions with Sam Wilson, Steve Rogers, and Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes. One night after a mission, you get insomnia and can't sleep, so you go make some coffee, intending to bring some to Bucky, only to overhear in his quarters singing a love song and playing guitar. You are absolutely enraptured upon finding that Bucky Barnes has an excellent singing voice and can't resist sneaking back night after night to hear him sing. But maybe Bucky's feelings aren't as mysterious as you think they are...
Bucky/Reader songfic, slight AU.

I also have a Ko-Fi. I accept fanfiction requests on a case by case basis. You can message me privately on here or on Ko-Fi to pitch a fic to me. Payment can be any amount, doesn't matter, but make sure you send it and get it approved before paying. Also, never mention Ko-Fi on AO3. If you do, you'll get us both banned.

‘9-1-1’ and ‘Doctor Odyssey’ Crossover: Angela Bassett Teases Athena’s ‘Ocean’s 11’-Style Casino Week Cruis
Tumblr media
Angela Bassett’s “9-1-1” character Athena Grant takes an unexpected cruise aboard the Odyssey Thursday, as two Ryan Murphy-created ABC shows cross over for the first time. The no-nonsense LAPD sergeant is called in to prevent a possible robbery during the ship’s Casino Week and the investigation — which includes glamming it up in beautiful gowns — takes longer than she expects. Bassett and “Doctor Odyssey” star Joshua Jackson, who plays dashing Dr. Max Bankman, teased what we can expect. “It’s our ‘Ocean’s 11’ episode with a heist,” said Jackson, who described it as a “return to the happy side of the show” after a tense two-parter with multiple shark attacks. Both stars said the show is a nice break from the chaos of real life — including the recent LA wildfires that claimed Jackson’s home — and from the more hectic pace of filming “9-1-1.”
