Climb Mount Kenya At 4,986m (16,358ft) above sea level, this extinct volcano is the second-highest mountain in Africa. The Mountain Club of Kenya runs mountain huts and publishes guides for climbers. It is also one of Kenya's best rhino sanctuaries, supporting high concentrations of both black and white rhino, and you may spot a leopard in the giant yellowwood acacia trees. Help save the elephants at Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage Watch baby elephants play at the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, an important sanctuary where orphaned elephants are hand-reared before being released back into the wild. Step into the land of giants at Amboseli National Park The 392sq km (151sq mile) Amboseli National Park lies at the base of snow-capped Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak. Wildlife includes lion, cheetah, wildebeest, hippo and gazelle, but the park is most famous for the large herds of elephant attracted by the perennial swamps. Bird-watching is popular, and visitors can learn about the local Maasai people through homestead visits. Take the road less travelled to Lake Turkana In the barren northern reaches of Kenya, Lake Turkana is a strange and beautiful oasis, known to locals as the Jade Sea due to its size and striking colour. The lake provides great fishing, while its islands have healthy crocodile and hippo populations. The semi-nomadic Turkana tribe are just as interesting as the lake itself. Take to the skies in a hot air balloon Float over great herds of game in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Hour-long excursions set off at dawn and end with champagne breakfasts. Almost all the lodges in the reserve offer this experience, which gives ballooners the chance to see the wildebeest migration from the air between July and September. Day 1: Arrival at JKIA – Nairobi

Pick up from the airport on arrival and transfer you to boulevard hotel for overnight stay in readiness for your holiday safari the following morning with us (back of africa adventure).

NOTE:- if you opt not to have an overnight in nairobi then this tour can start immediately from the airport.

Day 2: Nairobi – Samburu Game Reserve

Pick up from your hotel at 0700 hrs or airport – program briefing session there after start off the trip with us towards the majestic mt. Kenya en route to the open savannah of samburu game reserve. Lunch at a lodge – afternoon game drives followed by dinner and overnight stay at samburu sopa lodge or similar standard.

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve

Full day spent exploring the park. Morning and afternoon game drives are offered – dinner and overnight stay at samburu sopa lodge or similar standard.

The highlights of samburu game reserve is the spectacular scenic beauty, rivers and forests. It is an area where the local people have a rich and colorful heritage. The reserves have numerous permanent springs and a wealth of wildlife which includes leopard, hippo, elephant, lion, reticulated giraffe, grevy’s zebra and crocodile in the ewaso nyiro river. Over 365 species of birds have been identified in the sanctuaries.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru National park.

We depart the lodge soon after breakfast and proceed to lake nakuru national park. Lunch enroute followed by an afternoon game drives as the pick lake. Dinner and overnight stay at flamingo hill lodge or lake nakuru sopa lodge.

Lake nakuru is a shallow alkaline lake on the edges of nakuru town and lies a distance of 160 kilometers from nairobi. The lake is world famous as home to millions of flamingoes. The number of flamingoes depends on the water level which determines the quantity of algae on which the birds feed. Flamingoes are known to migrate to other rift valley lakes whenever the water level is low. The national park surrounds the lake and was gazetted to protect the colony of flamingoes as well as provide sanctuary for endangered species such as the rhino. There are about 25 white and black rhinos, one of the largest concentrations in the country. Predators are also residents to this park while rothschild’s giraffe have been trans-located into the park for safety.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara

Breakfast then south through the beautiful savannahs and plains of the rift valley to arrive mara in good time for lunch afternoon game drives followed by dinner and overnight stay at mara leisure tented camp.

Day 6/7: Masai Mara

Spend the next two days on game drives exploring the masai mara. The open grasslands are home to incredibly rich and varied wildlife and the awesome, annual migration of millions of wildebeest and antelope is the highlight of any visit to africa from july to september. Optional balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of us$ 450 per person .dinner and overnight stay at mara leisure tented camp.

Day 8: Masai Mara – Serengeti National park

We leave the tented lodge soon after breakfast and drive through the southern part of the reserve viewing game as we proceed to the tanzanian border at isebania / sirari. Proceed to serengeti national park – game is viewed as we proceed to ikoma bushcamp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9: Serengeti National Park

Full day spent exploring the park. Dinner and overnight stay at ikoma bush camp.

Serengeti is africa’s most famous and tanzania’s largest park covering 14,736 sq km and is adjoining with the masai mara national reserve in kenya. With a wildebeest population of about 2 million and several other hoofed species (which include zebra, thomson’s gazelle, impala, topi, grants gazelle, kongoni, eland, kirk’s dik dik, klipspringer, roan, oryx, oribi, waterbuck, buffalo, giraffe and warthog), it is sure to attract a string of prey such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, golden jackals and bat eared foxes. Elephants are relatively scarce and the few remaining black rhinoceros are restricted to the moru koppies area.

Day 10 : Serengeti :Ngorongoro via Olduvai Gorge

Morning game drives then return to the lodge for breakfast – proceed e south to the magnificent ngorongoro crater via the historical olduvai gorge whilst game watching only interrupted by a picnic lunch enroute. Dinner and overnight stay at ngorongoro rhino lodge.the olduvai gorge cuts through rock beds layered in time sequence from 2 million years ago to the present. It is here where humanoid bones have been found dating back to over 1.75 million years including a direct ancestor of modern man. Fossil footprints (over three million years old) have also been found here and are the most ancient footprints yet discovered. There is an excellent site museum where you can explore the diggings.

Day 11: Ngorongoro Crater Tour

After an early breakfast, we drive south to the magnificent ngorongoro crater via the historical olduvai gorge whilst game watching only interrupted by a packed lunches. Dinner and overnight stay at ngorongoro rhino lodge.

The ngorongoro crater is the world’s biggest whole volcanic caldera at 8300 sq km and is arguably the most stunning arena. It is frequently described as one of the wonders of the world, not only because of its geological magnificence, but also because it serves as an extraordinary natural sanctuary for some of africa’s largest populations of large mammals. Ngorongoro and other freestanding mountains are volcanic in origin, formed during the fracturing process that created the rift valley 15 to 20 million years ago.

Day 12: Ngorongoro- Tarangire national park

Breakfast and drive to tarangire national park – lunch then proceed for afternoon game drives. Dinner and overnight stay at a tarangire roika tented camp herds of up to 300 elephants scratch the dry river bed for underground streams, while migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons. It’s the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the serengeti ecosystem – a smorgasbord for predators – and the one place in tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed.

10. Skeleton Coast, Namibia

Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve[3] is located in northern Malawi. It is a world-famous site due to its conservation efforts, championed by none other than Prince Harry of the British monarch.

Being a conservationists’ wildlife reserve, most of its elephants have been relocated from other Parks where they faced threats of poaching, drought, overpopulation, and diseases. Among the major sources of this relocation are the Liwonde and Machete National Parks.

So far, 500 elephants have been relocated into this Park. The park is optimized for tourist visits as a means of creating awareness of the conservation effort and also making the park more economically sustainable as the proceeds from tourism helps to plow back into the conservation efforts.
