センリョウ

千両は、アカネ科の常緑低木で、美しい赤い実をつけることで知られる植物です。日本原産で、主に本州の太平洋側や四国、九州などに自生しています。 千両の特徴は、何といってもその赤い実です。秋から冬にかけて、枝先に直径1センチメートルほどの鮮やかな赤い実をつけます。実は、熟すにつれて緑色から赤色へと変化し、その色合いはとても美しく、冬の庭に彩りを添えます。

Roxanne's japanese name is Tsutsuji, same as the japanese name for the Azelea, tsutsuji[躑躅]

Brawly's name is Touki from touki[当帰] japanese name for the Chinese medicinal herb, Dong Dang Gui, aka Female Ginseng. A neat association between physical fitness and a health supplement.

Wattson's name is Tessen, a pun on tessen[鉄線] meaning both "iron wire" and the Japanese name of the Chinese Clematis aka Leather Flower. It's in the same Clematis Genus that Lt.Surge(Matis) is named after.

Flannery's name is Asuna, which is actually a super common Japanese name, but given the ongoing theme seems to point to asunaro[翌檜] sometimes called the False Arborvitae, a species of conifer tree endemic to Japan.

Norman's name is Senri, taken from senryo[仙蓼] (Senri[センリ] from senryo[センリョ]) the Chloranthus glaber, a common herb in east Asia used in some New Year's celebration and notable for its red berries.

Winona's name is Nagi from nagi[梛], the Asian Bayberry tree. her outfit's color and hat shape come from its fruits

Tate & Liza's names are Fu & Ran from furan[風蘭] a type of flower called a "wind orchid."

Wallace's name is Mikuri from mikuri[実���] the japanese name for the Branched Bur-reed, Sparganium erectum. It's a reed, so it's a water plant tying into his type. They are not especially flashy looking though.

I wasn't going to include him in the images because it messed with my formatting but Juan's name is Adan, after adan[阿檀], japanese name of the Fragrant Screw Pine

Sidney's name is Kagetsu, supposedly kagetsu[花月] (lit."flower+moon") Japanese name for the Jade Plant aka Money Tree.

Phoebe's name is Fuyo from fuyo[芙蓉], the Cotton Rose, which is what she has in her hair.

Glacia's name is Prim(purimu[プリム]) likely referring to the Primrose.

Drake's name was Genji which I took to be a reference to the mokugenji[木患子] the "Golden Rain Tree," which is maybe better known for its use in buddhist exorcism than for its flowers or fruits. (Although the buddhist sutra, Fú shuō mù huàn zi jīng[佛說木槵子經]: "Buddha Speaks Of The Mukorossi Sutra," features a 108 bead chain made from the berries of this specific tree. But I'll be honest I don't know in what real capacity)
