Anyway @ratstuckinamarble you may wish to know starting with G, after every season they released these comedic bonus shorts with a different art style with the home releases called Senki Zesshoushinai Symphogear

Just letting you know as soon as I can since you may want to consider watching the ones for G before GX if nothing else for the goofs, and going forward watching the ones for GX, AXZ and XV after their respective seasons

Miku in the OVAs is so outright thirsty for wife and I appreciate it.

I feel like the OVAs did a better job writing Noble Red than XV.

There was more acknowledgment of Elsa’s and Millaarc’s backstories.

Elsa asking “what’s freedom?” because before she was experimented by the Illuminati, she was abused and never let out by her family. She really doesn’t know what freedom is.

Millaarc being the most eager to escape the Illuminati because she at least at one point had a normal life. She ended up with the Illuminati because she was sold to them by a group who kidnapped and tortured her, but before that she (presumably) had a fairly normal life, so she remembers something better and wants to get back to it.

And Vanessa tries to take on a leadership role very quickly, but she comes off as a little weird to the other two because, despite technically being the adult of the three, she spent her whole life with the Illuminati and likely has less experience with normal healthy relationships than Millaarc.

And the entirety of the Penny Dreadful scene was really good. Showing their doubt about what they are doing, and how even though they feel this is the only way, they know it doesn’t justify it, and more importantly, how they know they will not only likely fail, but also end up dead.

In XV, it felt like Noble Red existed to just have another group of villain girls (which the OVA kind of had a joke about), but the OVA actually did something with them.

It’s not much, and they are still kind of a mess in the show proper, but they had good potential, and the OVA makes some use of it.
