Okay guys. Hear me out.

What if my lonely DCA AU inhabitants (BW!Eclipse, Winged!Sun, Soft!Moon, and a few others) were all part of Eclipse's LibraryTM

Like. Winged Sun uses his wings to get books from high places, he reads to the kids in the kiddie corner, he's really helpful in dusting hard-to-reach areas, and such.

Soft Moon also reads to kids, but like, in a hushed voice. He also runs the Naptime Story corner.

Semi-Sentient Sun runs the front desk, checking books in and out, creates library accounts, and prints library cards. Doesn't really interact with the crowd much outside of standard "Thank you, friend!"

Candy Eclipse makes sure the place is safe (security?). Keeps kids from running, stops theft of books, uses his four arms to lug around heavy orders of new books

Bloodmoon (literally just a Bloodmoon I'd designed a while ago, never used him hghghg) is the janitor of sorts. Runs around and cleans messes.

And then BW Eclipse, surveys the place, making sure everyone is running smoothly, makes sure there's peace and harmony. Then reads in the corner.

HI I COME BEARING QUESTIONS ABOUT THE SEALS

with the genetic mutations, is it possible for those to have other visible genes like different striping patterns, point, or white spotting, or do they ALWAYS look like the example image

similar question but for melanistic & leucistic seals, do the brindled variants always have the same or similar striping pattern, or is it dependent on the stripe pattern genes?

and for tortoiseshells can they have points or white spotting showing on the sunlit parts or is it just always black & sunlit

what was the naming inspiration for sevralled & satursunned? all the genes have very interesting names and im curious about how u came up with them

final question that isn't that important im just nosy. are the seal genes (excluding the image part. i mean actually figuring out what all the genes were and how they interacted w/ each other and whatnot) something you worked on over a long period of time or did this just get blasted into your brain one day like a vision from god

WOOHOO! 1: Yes: Rusting & Blistering can both have white spotting. No: Leucism, Melanism, Albinism, and the three Blessings cannot have anything that isn't stated. 2: Brindled striping pattern is always similar to the diagram (not copy and paste, there is variation) and has nothing to do with stripe genes underneath. Tortoiseshelling works like how tortoiseshelling in domestic, real cats works and is different every time in placement. Colour is the same every time (that orange) and has nothing to do with sunlit colour* 3: No. They're always black and orange, though slightly different hues/saturations/brightnesses of oranges can occur 4: Sevralled was inspiried by the word several. Severalled seals have... several stripes. the 'a' prefix on a word means without/not. Aseveralled have only one stripe. They do not have several stripes. and Semisevralled is in the middle of that I'll explain semisunned too. semisunned is 'semi' because the greenish colour silver seals turn is only somewhat sun-like, not all the way to yellow. The 'satur' in satursunned is related to the word saturation, with satursunned seals being incredibly bright & sun-looking 5: I figured out all of their genetics in one sitting today. This might seem crazy, and yeah it probably is, but something that helped is 1: i like genetics, and 2: i have pretty good knowledge on how domestic cat genetics work, and a lot of caeseal genetics are directly based off of those. the image itself is even directly based off of a cat-genetics related image that i have saved. the way black and brown genes interact, and the entirety of the white spotting gene is directly taken from domestic cats. pointing is also from them. *this is something i should have stated in the image. this also applies to sunlit striped seals and dilute seals, as their splotchy markings are different every time. i will add this to the image (when i get the chance)

Planned Eclipsed Library Interactions for Chapter 1

Reader and Semi at the front desk; Reader nervously shuffling through their wallet with Sammy at our side while Semi just stares with his uncanny smile and his canon "old man attire."

Reader and Sammy in the car; Sammy asking when Mommy is going to come home and our tired response: "I don't know, Sams, I don't know."

Reader and Clipsy; Clipsy walking up to the desk to talk to Semi and freaking us out with his 15ft height.

[These are my "MUST HAVE's" for my first chapter, and I'm going to cry because I've never actually committed to something and I'm going to go crazy because this is going too far for my "no commitment" rule. I'm going to drop this at some point and make a lot of people annoyed and disappointed istg-]
