Selva – 18 month old male Ibizan Hound (Podenco)

Selva is an 18 month old wire haired Ibizan Hound Podenco. The Podenco is a small sight hound, very much like a greyhound, Lurcher or Whippet in terms of temperament and generally hardy and rugged. Podencos are becoming popular here in the UK. They are active, athletic dogs and jump surprisingly high for their size. They tend to do well at agility and make wonderful pets. Unlike the greyhound, they don’t just hunt by sight, they also hunt by listening and tracking so they are very bright little buttons and make engaging, entertaining companions. Selva is very typical of the breed and is a sociable girl, she loves fuss and is very sweet with dogs that she meets out on her walks. She is good with older children but she is not used to very small children. She would live happily with a male dog but would also be fine as an only dog because she is very people orientated. She has not been tested with cats and we feel she would be best in a home without cats or small furries. Selva enjoys her walks and exercise and needs a secure garden to play in, she loves her toys and games and will be a devoted companion and pet for the right family.

FOSTERER’S REPORT: This lovely girl has been fostered by me and my daughter and she has come on leaps and bounds – literally! !! Her personality is finally shining through and she makes us laugh every day! She adores attention, especially cuddles and grooming and loves looking out of the window watching the world go by. She is fantastic on an extended lead and harness and loves meeting other dogs out and about. Her recall is getting better every day. Totally house trained. She eats her meals voluntarily in her crate where she has an abundance of pillows and soft toys that she loves to cuddle up to. All this little girl wants is love and hugs and lots of playtime. Her eyes are now shining. Please, please consider giving this lovely little soul a forever home. She has so much to give.

OTHER INFO: Selva has no known health issues. She is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, up to date with flea and worm treatments and has a full passport. Angel’s Kiss homes dogs throughout the UK but potential adopters must be willing to travel to meet Selva at her foster home in Scarborough.
