Pavia hates it. He hates being forced to fight even if the rush of it is exhilarating. More specifically, he hates "dying." Many times, he's fought and been dealt a fatal blow. During that time, it's almost like fainting. He sees the blow coming but can't do anything about it as it hits him only for him to wake up back on the main screen. The "home screen" he sometimes hears it being called.
It's almost like he misses a part of his memory. Like a chunk was taken out and not given back. He knows that’s not the case, as he quite honestly died, but he can’t help himself from feeling that way.
Against the odds, he doesn't hate the player. He can see they're just clueless he's self-aware. He knows they wouldn't be making him do it against his will if they knew. He can hear whenever they panic when he's low, muttering about how they wish they had put a healer on the team and had enough luck to get a good one from a "banner." He's talked to others, ones who are aware. Granted, he can only talk to them once the player is off the game, and it isn't too many.
The player holds the tendency to stick only to one team. Something they seem to have experience doing by the way they talk about some game called "Honkai Star Rail."
The system he's trapped by doesn't allow him to stray far from his preprogrammed lines. He can change them up only slightly. Where his lines, though different, are so similar that they're barely noticeable. He hates that, but at least he holds some sort of control.
Saying the lines over and over again is something he holds large hatred for. It has become tiring, but he can’t do anything against the system. He's talked to X a few times about it, and X has said that even he doesn't know what to do, but he's working on it.
He wonders what X is doing because he hasn't seen him in a while.
Maybe he'll be able to talk to the player, maybe not. Whatever's the case, he'll keep trying. He's stubborn just as they are, and he'll keep pushing because the player is not clueless. He's taken notice of their brows furrowing when his morning line is different and when his battle lines sound more annoyed.
They'll find out in one way or another.

;R1999 - Self-Aware AU
Headcanons about an Alternate Universe in which everyone knows they're living inside a videogame. However, Vertin is the only one aware of the entity inhabiting her own mind, the real conductor - the "Player".
this is one of my favorite AUs to slap on whatever media I'm into so here we are <3 not sure if anyone's done this already, but PLEASE PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE link me if you've seen any other ppl write for this AU! this one and any actor AUs are my absolute fave
this is just a word vomit introduction for fun, to get the basic ideas out of my head, so I can start writing for characters individually!
Okay, okay! First of all, some context for the AU before I go deranged overexplaining my HCs!
Aside from the "Storm", there is something else that haunts the people of this world: the fact that their lives are nothing but a simulacrum, part of a game.
The requirements to obtain this "self-awareness" is unknown. Those within the Foundation believe it's related to their respective "roles", that only the main and relevant characters are given the chance to fully open their eyes to the truth. Those within Manus Vindictae claim that one must be strong enough to break through the fog of complacency and their assigned scripts, to have their full potential unleashed and obtain true liberation. Either way, similar to the "Storm", this is a well-kept secret for a very good reason - everyone wants to have the upperhand.
There is one outlier to this whole system. Vertin is not only aware of the truth of this world, but also of her duty as the eyes and hands of the "Player". She must experience it all for their sake. Or rather, whatever she experiences will be the story that the Player will see.
This applies to her suitcase, the place where the Player's influence increases tenfold, bending everything and everyone to their will through her own body and voice. The longer one stays within her suitcase - or within her general vicinity - the easier it is for them to become self-aware.
How does one become "self-aware" and what does it entail?
The requirements and the catalyst for a character to become self-aware are still a mystery. But that's mostly because I specifically wanted to keep them as vague as possible, to allow some flexibility for NPCs and other characters outside of Vertin's suitcase.
The whole process of gaining sentience or self-awareness is mostly described as waking up from a nightmare, or a very, very realistic dream. It's like a switch, something that happens in a second without any warnings whatsoever.
I like to think that most of the people who wake up are easy to spot, because it's a jarring experience and panicking is the most normal reaction - but that they're often taken care of by the Foundation or recruited by Manus Vindictae.
The levels of awareness also depend heavily on each individual - some only know that nothing is truly real, that everything they've done up until that point was just a carefully scripted lie, the most basic realization. Others can understand the rules that govern this game and use them to their advantage, either through observation and study or just inherently.
Overall, the experience of being sentient varies as well, with some describing a disconnect from their body, while others feel exactly the opposite. Again, keeping it pretty vague so that people can fill in with their own ideas!
I'll talk about Vertin's case in detail when we get to her specific bullet point, but the same way the Player is able to experience the "story" through her eyes, she's able to see the same things they do - this includes the UI, the menus and everything you can interact with in-game.
Vertin as a character and a vessel for the Player.
The most common thing I've seen in self-aware AUs in my years of fandom is to turn the player stand-in (the main character that serves for the player to experience the story through and/or project onto, depending on the genre of the game) into an obstacle, one that keeps the characters from truly interacting with the Player, capital P.
The second most common thing I've seen is to simply ignore the existence of this player stand-in and replace it with the Player themself, either through isekai methods or thanks to the customization the game allows, etc etc.
When it comes to Vertin in this AU, I know I want her to retain her role as the center of everything, instead of being sidelined by the Player. She's THE Timekeeper, after all.
There's still some details I'm trying to iron out, like whether she's always been self-aware or if she became self-aware at some point during her childhood at the St. Pavlov Foundation. But I like to think that her relationship to the Player is a parallel to her immunity to the "Storm" - neither of these two things are inherently good nor bad. Surviving the "Storm" is helpful, sure, but it's painful for her. Having an entity like the "Player" haunting her is scary, sure, but it can be an advantage. It's a matter of how she utilizes the assets she was given, since her adaptability and determination are big aspects of her character. Vertin makes up for her mediocre arcane skills with unconventional plans and strategies.
But this isn't to say that Vertin isn't affected by the presence of the Player. Ironically, she's the one person whose freedom is limited. During battles, her skills and Tuning are available to you, they can also prove to be vital to win a fight, but in the end you're still the one calling the shots and choosing when her friends get to attack. You're the one choosing the layout of the Wilderness. You're the one picking which one of her friends deserves to become stronger.
In the last bullet point I mentioned that some characters can understand the rules of the game - Vertin is the most extreme case, as she can see the same UI as you do. She learns the way you like to fight your battles, your own strategies, she can see this and more.
Overall it's a very complex dynamic. It's not as easy as saying that she likes or dislikes you, that she considers you a friend or foe. You're part of her, you influence each other in many aspects and are stuck together for reasons she can't even fathom. While you may be able to read her thoughts most of the time, she becomes invisible once you enter the suitcase - the main menu of the game. Sure, the character you selected to greet you every day is actually talking to her, not you, but she's out of your view and therefore, out of our range. That's when Vertin wonders the sort of person that you are, if you care about her friends as much as she does. Are you playing just to be entertained? Are you invested in these events? Will you be there for her until the end of her story?
Another detail I like to think about is that Vertin is the only one who knows your name. Because at the very beginning, you were asked to input a name and she was there.
[screenshot was taken from this video, since it's the first one I could find that showed this specific part of the game lol]
Well, "your name" not quite right - she knows that whatever you wrote there is the name linked to your account, at least. And that's the name she knows you as.
Those who take residence in Vertin's suitcase or spend prolonged amounts of time with her, growing closer to her and all, end up becoming self-aware. This is a direct side-effect of your presence.
I like to think that characters who reach the 100% Bond can begin to sense the Player, to see the world in a similar way as Vertin does. Maybe even feel their presence EXACTLY like Vertin does whenever there's a battle. There is someone else on the other side of this screen, the fourth wall, who watches over them.
To some, it's hard to differentiate Vertin from the Player, as they just go hand in hand - but Sonetto, for example, has the easiest time telling the two apart.
On the subject of freedom and acting out of script.
The Foundation, Manus Vindictae, Laplace... It doesn't matter if they're self-aware and acting outside of what their script dictates, because they're missing one key ingredient: you. No one else but Vertin and her group knows about your existence, after all.
They don't know that the only story that matters is the one that Vertin is part of. The one that the Player gets to see and read and experience. And because the game gives you a very limited view into the lives of these characters, you don't know what neither Arcana nor Constantine do behind the scenes. You and Vertin don't see that, therefore, it never truly mattered.
Those most likely to start "acting out" are the troublemakers within Vertin's suitcase. Characters who are too curious for their own good, who are more susceptible to supernatural entities, who are just too impulsive - they would start to test the limits and see how far they can go, how much they can interact with the Player. Can the game be broken should they end up shattering the fourth wall? Is there a way for the Player to communicate with them? What will happen to Vertin?
I like to think that Vertin probably supports this, as she's rather curious herself, prone to questioning everything. She would also like to learn more about the Player, to truly tear into the game and see the full extent of your influence and her freedom.
Sometimes, Regulus and X will change their usual voicelines, just enough to be noticeable if one pays enough attention. Characters like Sotheby or Leilani might slip up and address the Player, rather than Vertin. Lilya, Pavia, Bkornblume have new animations and different expressions, ones you've never seen before - they stare ahead, as if searching for something, and then smirk or hum to themselves, deep in thought, like they realized something you're not privy of.
Sometimes, if you leave them as your selected assistant on the main menu, you can catch them muttering to themselves - idle quotes you never heard enough, about the outside world. Diggers does this the most, it's almost embarassing how easy it is to catch him talking nonsense, followed by Sonetto. If you leave Medicine Pocket alone for too long, you might come back to a screen covered in weird scratch marks.
On the subject of these characters being curious about the outside world and all, I think that a good chunk of them are generally content with the way things are?
We have to remember that in-universe, they're arcanists displaced from their respective eras. Their best chance at surviving is siding with Vertin, and if Vertin is content with the way things are, then there's no point in trying to disrupt what they have right now. They're curious enough to prod, but only as far as Vertin allows it.
And I think that's it for the word vomit!
There are some details I didn't know where to fit in, like the possibility of the fourth wall slowly dissipating the more time the Player invests in the game, leading to some characters being able to directly hear you if you talk while playing and whatnot. Or what would happen should someone outside of Vertin's suitcase figure out the existence of the Player, let alone interact with you in some way.
Or the concept of death being meaningless, unless it was pre-established by the game itself.
In Borderlands, there's this game mechanic where you can just be revived over and over and pay a percentage of your money as a fee, even though the canon that's established is that you play through the whole story without dying a SINGLE time - because the revival mechanics aren't canon. There's the divide between story and gameplay. That's pretty much the standard. But what about the deaths in battles in R1999? The amount of times I died to 1.3's UTTU's Flash Gathering is insane. How do self-aware characters feel about this, now that they know that they're bound to die over and over and be brought back because you have to do your Pneuma Analysis or reach the final stage of Limbo?
But that's pretty much it for now, I think I got most thoughts out of my system! Thank you for reading!

Congrats on getting Aleph!! I haven't pulled yet, but hopefully I will get him (still grinding for pulls 😭) But I am thinking of the Self-aware AU where the reader gets him and immediately puts on the homepage to show off merchandise of his. Like the reader immediately shows him the shrine they've made for him, so he would come home. (Then maybe cry about he depleted all of their resources, but it was worth it.) Then they show him like posters, cutouts, keychains, and standees of him. (Maybe we can throw in the custom body pillow, too.) Will he just immediately blank out like 'oh..Woah, I think this person likes me a lot...I don't know whether to be flattered or creeped out'?
May you get the red mop man ՞⸝⸝ᵒ̴̶̷ 𓈞 ᵒ̴̶̷⸝⸝՞
Yeah, you basically got him, he would be surprised, Aleph would take like a long pause, looking over the shrine, the items with his various alters on them, before he makes the observation of…
“You are either obsessed with me, or my arrival has been severely exciting to you…..” Said Aleph, tilting his head before he suddenly turned to his resonance levels and insight, seeing that he was immediately overwhelmed by how quickly you upgraded him, his vision distorted slightly before they seemed to clear….
“Oh?……” Aleph said, his fingers pressed against the screen to see the world beyond you, your room, the open door that lead to the rest of the house, your room was…. Simple, quaint even (besides the shrine-)
The small fascination in him seemed to be renewed…
What ever will he do now that he became aware of you now?

Disabled Characters in Reverse: 1999 - Part 3
Welcome to the final installment of this list of the game's disabled characters (for now), and we are ending it with the most interesting of them: the neurodivergent characters!

These characters are particularly special since a lot of them are mainly speculated, but they draw heavy parallels to their respective conditions that they had to be taken note of.
Now because there are so many characters, they became an entire category of their own instead of being lumped with the previous post, and this became undoubtedly one of the longest texts I've written down among most of the analysis posts I've made for this game.
I hope that you enjoy reading this final piece, let's get started.
Autism: 37, Horropedia, Melania, Balloon Party, Avgust

All of these characters are incredibly similar to each other, and yet they all have their share differences. For example, both Horropedia and 37 are characters that embody one of the main stereotypes about autism: Incredibly intelligent characters who fixate on specific subjects. 37’s focus is on mathematics, while Horropedia’s is the horror genre. Even their personalities are quite similar: arrogant yet kind and understanding people.
They lace their speech with associations to their topic of interest, and will infodump about it unprompted. The two of them also struggle to pick up social cues, nor can tell if the information they’re sharing is unsolicited because the information is normal to themselves.
However, the difference between them in this is that Horropedia is more carefree about it, whilst 37 is more self-aware about the fact that she can’t come to a mutual understanding with others.
The rest of the characters here also share these traits, but they all stand out in their own ways:
Melania’s intricate way of making plans tends to be in the form of academic exams. These tend to be her greatest motivator when it comes to doing work, and gets easily frustrated when having to change them. She also has a set routine that she gets easily surprised by sudden interruptions.
Balloon Party’s speech is found to be unconventional (i.e. the speech impediment from earlier, the tone of her voice is found to be naturally flat) and is paired with word association and echolalia.
Avgust has a unique understanding of the world around him, with him associating everything and everyone with more innocent concepts. (e.g. his father’s death is often referred to as him “sleeping in the mines”) None of these mean that he doesn’t understand things like death as what they are, only that he’s very young among the cast and has been raised in a healthy environment that allows him to continue thinking this way for a bit longer.
ADHD: Regulus & Eagle

With Regulus, it’s more of a headcanon than it is backed by evidence, but the main points that can be found for her are her restlessness, lacking attention span, and her impulsivity. They’re common aspects (hyperactive) in ADHD, and thus they aren’t exactly conclusive.
But I also found that Regulus also tends to bring her interests to light when navigating through conversations, and this with the reasons mentioned above makes me personally believe that Regulus does not just strictly have ADHD, but still overall neurodivergent.
Eagle seems to have the inattentive type of ADHD. A more established indicator of her likely having it is through her anecdote, where she was said to have had some sort of attention-deficit. In that anecdote, Eagle mainly acts on her own impulses such as jumping to try to find the missing boy scout, and even helping X if it meant that it progressed her mission.
She struggles to take rejection and constantly tries to prove herself to be able to gain the acceptance she’s looking for. It made me believe that she has Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria. (RSD)
While these alone aren’t conclusive either, they still give me enough reason to believe that Eagle could be implied to be neurodivergent too.
AuDHD (Autism + ADHD): Vertin, Marcus, AliEn T

From the earlier points, we find that some of the mixed traits that make for auDHD are found in Vertin, Marcus, and AliEn T. All three of them are quite emotional (even Vertin in spite of her stoicism) and impulsive people, where they tend to jump into action when they have a rough plan set in mind. They also have their own interests (wildlife, reading, Earth) and tend to get absorbed into their own thoughts quite often. Because of the latter, they tend to lead themselves into executive dysfunction. Some things about them differ, however.
Starting with Vertin, most of the “obvious” signs are present in her childhood, where she was restless and curious of the world beyond SPDM, making it difficult for her to focus in school. Yet, she still kept up with topics that interested her, going as far as skipping classes to learn in her own way.
She has gotten punished often for her “defiance,” and ended up being radicalized by it and by the trauma she faced in Chapter 3. Currently, she masks quite heavily to a degree, leaving her main indicators to be her tactile tendencies (i.e. touching things and others out of curiosity) and her becoming absorbed to her own thoughts.
Meanwhile, Marcus is an incredibly anxious person. She often relied on someone like Hofmann to socialize with others and make decisions for her since she struggled greatly in that aspect. She can be easily upset by things and even by her own overthinking, taking rejection quite poorly before resorting to immediately coming up with ways to resolve it.
She often retreats back to reading to be able to ground herself from any stress. But now with everything that’s happened, Marcus has begun working on herself and mustering the courage to be able to push her limits independently.
We’re not entirely sure about how AliEn T’s home society is structured, but it can be argued that his and our societies tend to parallel each other. For example, AliEn T is seen as a bit eccentric to his kind like the regional manager and co-workers because of him being emotionally prone and being very fixated on the Earth. (which his society collectively avoids)
A lot of his notes about his home in the anecdote imply that in his home society, they have their equivalent of some of the struggles found in the neurodivergent experience, which is why he and Officer Williams in the anecdote could empathize with each other.
Others / Related but non-diagnostic: Mesmer Jr., Isolde, Pickles, Kaalaa Baunaa, Tooth Fairy, Blonney

As I explained in the previous post, Mesmer Jr. and Isolde both greatly suffer from conditions that particularly stem from their trauma and subsequent C-PTSD.
Again, Mesmer Jr. is heavily hinted to have OCD, while Isolde has many disorders linked to C-PTSD. (formerly named as "hysteria") Due to the nature of their respective conditions, they both deserve a place here in this list.
It can be assumed that Pickles is neurodivergent due to him being nicknamed as an “indigo pup.” While this might be related to his arcane skill, the nickname is also intriguing because it's like the term “indigo children.”
“Indigo children” are classified as those who are incredibly intelligent and possess special talents or powers according to the New Age concept. However, this classification is closely associated with neurodivergence due to the similar descriptions.
Meanwhile, Kaalaa Baunaa, Tooth Fairy, and Blonney have shared stories in which they've had to maintain some form of distance towards their arcanist identities due to the hostile nature of their environments. They embraced it as part of themselves in the end, though.
Kaalaa Baunaa has been an avid researcher ever since she was young, and enjoys maintaining punctuality through routines. However, she had been often discriminated against in her initial workplace, where her arcanist identity had been picked out first before taking her research in consideration; even her research had been disregarded due to the “unconventional” methods that she applied to conduct them.
It can be considered a familiar feeling among neurodivergent people and it is incredibly frustrating when it happens. For KB, it had gotten bad to the point of her (and Kumar) getting kicked out of their institution, but it never stopped either of them from continuing to do their work.
Tooth Fairy and Blonney both grew up in mixed societies, where they had to force themselves to conform to be able to be accepted in both human and arcanist social spaces.
Tooth Fairy, while achieving this balance in her college years, had never been treated as an equal by either side due to both her arcanist identity and frequency to interact with humans. She was bullied for it and was even taken advantage of when she made the medicine in her character story. These experiences led her to accept her own identity and eventually stop overtly conforming to both societies.
Blonney meanwhile moved to a predominantly human society, where she greatly conformed to human ideals and trends to “fit in” with the humans. But she was still off-handedly discriminated against due to simply just being an arcanist. She tried really hard to suppress herself, to the point that she dimmed her own “light” and was unable to use her personalized arcane skill. But when she came back to Green Lake, her mask slowly fell apart, and then it reignited her passion, which allowed her to begin accepting herself again.
Honorable Mentions
Sonetto, Matilda, Sotheby, Ezra, Jessica - Autism (mainly credited from: @/H0LOdm on twt)
While these are mainly headcanon, some of these characters here do display neurodivergent traits in their own ways, most especially the latter 3 of these characters here. They all struggle to pick up social cues and tend to struggle in (conventionally) socializing/empathizing with others.
Sotheby and Jessica in particular both lace their language using their interests and the environment they grew up in. Ezra also uses his interests in fungi as a conversation starter with others, eager to see any mushrooms that might be potentially found anywhere.
Final Notes and Thanks
When I started writing these down I didn't really think much of it outside of the fact that there were so many characters who were particularly neurodivergent, which then further extended to the rest of the disabled characters as well. I tried my best to word these as respectfully as I can, and that I hope people could find fun in reading these as much as I did writing them.
I give my acknowledgements to these people for their help and support for the creation of list in entirety: Jager, Lupjo, Reg, Bee ( @e-0timely ) , Abyss ( @abyss-idiot ), and Tokki
Considering the nature of this list, I want to say that are non-conclusive and can be interpreted in any way you want. As I said in my previous version of this post, "...Every experience is different, and I think these characters here openly show that."
Feel free to add your own insights, corrections, and even your own headcanons here. Thanks for reading, and have the two links to the first two lists down here.

A little ask about that self aware sahsrau, is there a possibility of multiverse? Sorry, I just love crossovers a bit too much
So, whenever we, player, leave, is it equals of our presence suddenly disappearing? I am sure it would cause a lot of panic and trying to figure out where we went. Meanwhile we decide to take a break and play something else, like Genshin, Wuthering waves, Reverse: 1999, ZZZ, Arknights, cookie run, etc. If they SOMEHOW is able to find clues where we are, would they be interested to find out about other worlds and that we are basically can travel in them?
Ohhh, the multiverse idea is so fun and definitely possible! 🤔 I can totally see the crew freaking out when we suddenly disappear—like, one minute we’re guiding them, and the next… poof nothing. They’d definitely panic, trying to figure out where we went, and maybe even start questioning everything they knew about the universe. Welt (or perhaps Dan Heng) would be the one obsessing over the theories, trying to trace the “anomaly” in the stars, and Himeko might start plotting very detailed notes about the "disappearance."
Now, imagine when they somehow do find clues… like an offhand comment or a strange glitch in the system that hints at our presence in other worlds. Suddenly, the idea of multiple universes—other games, other worlds—becomes a reality for them! And I can just imagine how curious they’d get! "You mean, you're not just a part of this world? You can travel between all these places?!" The thought of being able to visit places like Genshin, Wuthering Waves, Arknights, etc would have them itching to know more! Maybe Silver Wolf would even want to hack into these worlds for fun and cause a little chaos. 🤭
It would lead to them wondering if they could follow us through these other realms or if they could somehow come along for the ride. Maybe even plot out some crossovers, like whoa, what if the Xianzhou crew stumbled upon a different universe and met some of our other favorites?
They’d definitely be too curious for their own good, but in the best way! ✨

Hello hello! You can call me Trash. I’m a multi-fandom writing account, a side account to 2 blogs dedicated to a fandom I’m interested, each different.
Made this blog to essentially write about the other fandoms I enjoy and have fun, I’ll be writing when I have free time

I can write both platonic and romantic
-> My requests are open.
Please note that since I do run 2 other writing blogs, requests and replies may take longer, so please be patient with me
Fandoms I’m in (More TBA probably lol)

-> No NSFW, suggestive can be considered but may be ignored if I get too uncomfortable with the idea.
-> This is not a dark content blog, so most things under that category is a no
-> Once again you’ll likely have to be extremely patient with me if you do request
-> I have a right to not want to write something. This is self explanatory and likely didn’t need to be said lol but just encase

Shadow Work and Dream Analysis
I'm not sure if Reverse 1999 directly references Carl Jung, but his theories on dream analysis and shadow work would fit right into the lore. Jungian analysis is, like psychoanalysis, a method to access, experience and integrate unconscious material into awareness. This post touches on some of the things I find interesting in regards to Reverse 1999. I'll also include links to sources! Note, this is a simplified version of a broad topic. Please feel free to add-on or let me know if I got something wrong.
Psychologist Carl Jung believed that dreams represent internal conflicts and can guide us toward healing. He developed the concept of "active imagination," where individuals interact with dream figures to uncover hidden emotions and insights. The article encourages readers to engage with their dreams consciously, using imagination as a tool for personal transformation (link to article).
Doesn't this remind you of Artificial Somnambulism and Pneuma Analysis?
Moving on, Shadow work is a type of psychotherapy based on Carl Jung's concept of the "shadow self." The shadow self represents the parts of the psyche that people typically keep hidden, such as trauma, resentment, and undesirable traits. Jung saw the shadow self as a counterpart to the persona, the public-facing side of our personality. He believed that while the shadow might include negative impulses like anger, it also holds potential for positive qualities like creativity.
This bit I find especially interesting in relation to Vertin's stoicism she displays, vs the emotional turmoil and impulses she feels inside. We the players are privy to this part of her because we see see her conversations with the voices in her head. Sonetto would also be a great character to study under this lens...
The goal of shadow work is to integrate the shadow and persona, helping individuals manage repressed emotions and gain a deeper understanding of themselves. Jung also linked the shadow to the collective unconscious, suggesting that societal issues like racism are part of this hidden self. Practicing shadow work (although a difficult and definitely not pain-free process) can help people confront personal and societal challenges, leading to greater self-acceptance and understanding.
Techniques for shadow work include:
Dream analysis: A person can log their dreams and look for repeating themes or symbols to see whether they notice aspects of their mind that they usually ignore.
Journaling: Journaling can help a person explore their unconscious thoughts and desires by looking for patterns and themes. A person may follow prompts, tell stories, talk about their day, or engage in free association.
Psychoanalysis: In psychoanalytic psychotherapy, an analyst helps a person interpret dream archetypes, symbols in their unconscious mind, and the true motives behind their actions.
Sand tray therapy: Sand tray therapy uses sand, water, and a variety of miniatures to create stories that represent a person’s inner world. It may help the person become aware of unknown past or current challenges in life. This may be a stretch (a looong stretch), but Vertin's Wilderness could be a form of sand tray therapy. She has islands, streams, and lots of miniatures to play with and that idea makes me happy, even if it's not what the devs meant to do🫡

link to sand tray article because it's cool and worth taking a look at

You just downloaded Reverse 1999 a few weeks ago, played through the first book out of four, and grinded those teardrops just so you would get a chance at the Knight. From the ads alone, you have pretty high expectations for it. You've seen some of the characters from the trailers, but one character you’re wanting to aim to get is Pavia in terms of 4-stars. You don’t quite know what it is that draws you too him, but you have a feeling it’s his accent and attitude. Yes, he may be insane, but…oh well? In all defense, you've crushed on villain characters like Pantalone from Genshin Impact, so he's not as bad.
You click the summon screen and click the ten pull. No luck with get Pavia or the Knight. As you go through two more summons, your disappointment begins growing. You summarize that life must hate you because God you’re getting all 4-stars besides Pavia. You go through one more and press skip, praying and finally. It’s not the Knight, but it’s Pavia. You quickly go to where all your characters are and click him, grinning like an idiot as you level him up and get him to Insight one. You are low on the Dust, but that’s fine. You press the three dots and lines at the bottom of the screen and change the character on the home screen from Apple to Pavia.
You give a grin at him on your screen and click him. You listen to his line before you do it again, and again, and again trying to see if you can get that ‘interact with a character 10 times’ achievement because you just remembered you didn’t have that one done.
While checking the tasks to see if you got it, you don’t see how his face twists into annoyance or how he adjusts his posture. As soon as you click out of it, everything goes back to normal. Though, you can swear his lines seem to be said with a little more grit to them, almost as if he’s saying them through his teeth.
Almost as if he’s annoyed.

Multifandom Masterlist
────────༺♰༻────────
The promised navigation since I started to reblog and create more fics, I’ll put it here for an easier directory. For Awareness/Fundraisers for those in need.
Warning: I write almost anything, smut, angst, fluff, etc, I can write for both x reader, MLM, and WLW ships. However, My main would be x readers, cause I like self-indulging in them and creating indulgences for the readers. I use You/yourself when it is for x readers, but If they are not the main ship, I use either she/her, he/him, or they/them, depending on what type of character I would use for the Main Character as a side character with a ship or not.
You can call me Jen, or Echo, anything would be fine, I mostly write fluff with angst though, so If you want smut, just ask! And please do help me with the tagging cause I’m not the best at understanding it. ────────༺♰༻────────
Things to remember:
˗ˋˏ ♡ ˎˊ˗ Requests are CLOSED˗ˋˏ ♡ ˎˊ˗
- Request/s pending: 6 (I'll create rules soon :D so far just request without restrictions I don't mind ^_^, smut, fluff, etc hehe :D let your creative juices flow through you!
Fics tagged as series will be separated from one-shot fics.
The master list will be continuously updated as I create new fics!
This blog is 18+ since I will create smut soon once I get a request from it, or If I get an idea. So Minors, please do not interact with fics tagged for mature audiences, I know I can't stop you from reading, however, I can ask you to not try to request Matured fics (Fluff, angst, and others are allowed!) do not comment on the fics that are tagged 18+ too.
I will start updating what fics I'm currently working on.
One shots/Non-series are automatically counted as finished since they're just one shot.
I will add requests that I received here and once they're out I will mark them as done.
I don't do fics half-assedly, I like to take my time to enjoy and indulge in it myself, I'm kind of a perfectionist so I apologize if I take too long to post, usually, I'm busy and possibly will get even more busier soon, I'm growing hehe, more responsibilities come as time continues. ◝(ᵔᵕᵔ)◜
My fandoms will continuously grow, I'm a multifandom after all, and this will be updated often if I ever finish the series I read.
For now, my obsession is on Twisted Wonderland, I love writing about them, so I apologize if the other fandoms aren't filled yet, but I will write for them soon.
The updates are very inconsistent due to my schedule and responsibilities, I hope everyone's patient for it, thank you!
────────༺♰༻────────
I do not consent to stealing, translating, or putting my work in AI. I put effort into creating my fics, please remember that. I will ALWAYS finish my fics, do not use any type of AI to try and finish it for me, I will drop it if I hear any news about my work being fed to AI. ────────༺♰༻──────── Fandom/s:

I was wondering... I've been reading the self-aware au and I wonder if Manus Vindictae is also aware of the player— How does Forget Me Not even react to the concept of the player too if he's ever self-aware of it? A human who calls the shots on the story progressing (clearing levels) and also the one who beats his ass in battle (i had to insight 2 level 20 my arcanists to beat him under 10 turns in hard mode)
Can he hear the player? Can he see them? (I tend to gush over him whenever he speaks, I repeat the scenes he's in 😭 i miss him sm in the story) sorry for all these questions!!! Im so curious of self-aware aus and how they work and yours particularly was REALLY good
;R1999 FORGET ME NOT - Self Aware AU
Headcanons about Forget Me Not within the Self Aware AU.
this is a very good opportunity to think about non-playable characters within the game, actually! ty for the ask o7
there was someone who commented on one of my self-aware posts saying it was kind of like analog horror and I agree lolol
I vaguely remember mentioning that the requirements needed in order to be aware of the Player's existence were to either reach a 100% bond and/or to be exposed to Vertin's constant presence.
Forget Me Not, as an NPC with little to no actual relevant weight in the grand scheme of things (he is only relevant during the 1929 arc as of now) doesn't meet any of these requirements, so I don't think he'd be aware of the player!
His self-awareness is limited to knowing the world around him is fake, which fuels his self-deprecating and self-defeating, deranged, depressing mindset. I like to imagine Forget Me Not doesn't even understand that the world he lives in is a game, he just knows it's fake and that no matter what he does or says, no one will truly remember. Things will inexplicably reset or loop, and even so, he's not aware of the many times he's been forced to battle Vertin and the others because the Player had to grind specific materials. And so on and so forth. In his eyes, the "high power" that could attempt to control this empty world would be Arcana and no one else--after all, she's the one who opened his eyes to the truth through indoctrination.
When it comes to the figure of the Player, I wanted to portray an extremely obscure and detached figure. Vertin herself can't even fully wrap her head around the Player's existence, she doesn't even know if you're human--if the protagonist, the character "closest" to the Player is still left in the dark about these aspects, imagine how it is for other characters who don't have the privilege of acting your will, of being your hands and eyes. Sonetto can't even get a proper look at the Player, she still needs an insane amount of time lingering around Vertin to become more attuned to this somewhat eldritch entity tied to her. Characters of "equal" importance to Vertin, such as Arcana, may be able to perceive the Player in their own unique ways just like her, but everyone else? They need these special cases to even notice such a presence. Vertin is your only link to this world. You're the one looking in, this is a one-way mirror and only a very select few can look into the abyss and realize that something -someone else- is out there, staring back.
Like, of course I'll make exceptions or bend the rules if people request direct interactions between a character and the Player, but if we're talking about the setting as it is, then this is how I picture it.
Can he hear or see the Player? Nope. He doesn't have the means to. He doesn't even know they exist.
Forget Me Not feels superior with his self-awareness, gloating about how he's not like the common rubble who goes on about their day, entirely blind to the horrors. And yet, he's not aware of his limited perception of the world. It's very ironic, the way he looks down on others for the very same crime he's guilty of: obliviousness. Forget Me Not believes everyone outside of Manus Vindictae is too dumb, too unworthy of the freedom that comes with self-awareness. But really, this is just the blind leading the blind at the end of the day. Within Manus Vindictae, we only have Arcana and Forget Me Not as important characters, so it's hard for me to make a proper frame of reference, but overall I think that only Arcana is fully self-aware. Everyone else's perception of reality are equal or slightly inferior to Forget Me Not.
I think this falls in line with his modus operandi, so to speak! The way he believes he truly understands how things are, while turning his back on reality at the same time because he can't take it. He's too delusional, too unstable and frail to acknowledge that he may not be right, that he may be just as lost as when he first opened his eyes, that Vertin, someone so utterly disconnected from his ideals and morals and views, is the "chosen one."
As usual, Forget Me Not prefers to live a lie an double down on his usual habits than realize he always had the chance to change for the better and he just never had the courage to take that road.
How would he react upon finding out the Player's existence and their opinion on him?
I don't know the specifics around how exactly he finds out this piece of information, but either way, Forget Me Not would probably be shaken to his core! This isn't an easy pill to swallow in the slightest. You have to understand that every single time you beat him in battle, he 100% believed it was all Vertin's prowess.
How was he supposed to know she had someone guiding her? How was any of this fair?
Essentially, Forget Me Not has to confront the fact that all of his struggles, all the constant fighting and every conscious choice he's made to further ruin his life, were predetermined, already set in stone by forces beyond his comprehension. It's both freeing and claustrophobic, especially for a character like him who revels in misery and his status as an underdog earning his vengeance. He's done so much, he's worked so hard to get to where he is, and sure, his life is far from ideal, he's still the same self-destructive man, but now you're telling him that this was what the world planned from the very beginning? He had no say in anything? Someone out there decided that he was meant to be like this, and even after gaining self-awareness, he wasn't good or strong enough to break away from the script--in fact, he played right into someone else's trap.
I feel like Forget Me Not, at this point, would continue to do the only thing he knows: he doubles down. He redirects all of his hatred and all of his feelings towards the figure of the Player, if only to justify his existence--he can't live as a free man, he can't be seen as a living being worthy of respect because the plot commands it, he doesn't know where his own conscience begins and where the script and dialogue he's meant to say ends. So he might as well keep digging his own grave.
He loathes the Player more than anything else, because if there was no one to play this game, none of this would've happened in the first place. He fully blames you for every single thing, no matter how big or small. Everything that is wrong with his life can be traced to the person booting up this goddamn game every single day.
And if he learns that you replay each cutscene that he's in, he takes that as an offense.
This is just cruel mockery to Forget Me Not--not only you're the reason he's turned into such a miserable excuse of a man, but now you've turned him into your personal little jester, to sing and dance for your entertainment.
If he finds out that you hate him? That's good, it's a mutual feeling and it makes this tantrum he's throwing much more easier to deal with. But if he finds out that he's your favorite character? It kills him from the inside. How dare you?
His voice gets sharper, more visceral--every word is drenched with such profound hatred that you, from your side of the screen, can't help but think that Forget Me Not's voice actor is doing such a great job! And the artstyle is so good, his expressions look so real!
I can also see Forget Me Not eventually struggle with the fact that the Player loves him and sees him as their favorite character. It's not as easy and straightforward as hating you anymore--he doesn't even know you. He doesn't even know what to trust anymore.
Given how depressing he can be, I think he may latch onto the Player? The rug keeps being pulled from under his feet each and every time, but your existence, as awful and mysterious and controversial as it may be, is real. You're real. I have a lot of thoughts about this specific dynamic, but I'll leave them for another post so this one doesn't end up being suuuper long lol
On the subject of finding out that the Player is a human.
This one is easy! If someone were to tell Forget Me Not that the Player, the bane of his existence, is a human, then he'll just be in denial about it!
I really just like the idea of Forget Me Not having no means whatsoever to interact with the Player, it makes things so much more frustrating for him. Of course this means that everything he does know come from third-parties. And this piece of information is an extra layer of stress that he can't physically process at the same time as everything else in regards to his self-awareness, so he chooses to ignore it. To debate it. To simply deny it.
What, is he just supposed to believe everything he's told about you now? He can't even perceive you properly, let alone understand the sort of creature you are and your influence on this world--for all he knows, the people claiming to see and talk to you are all liars! All of his informants and spies could just be dead wrong, they may have misheard something on the way!
You can't be human, because he can't take another blow to his pride like this. It's humiliating enough to be played like a fiddle in such a way, Forget Me Not doesn't even want to think about the possibility of this small, fake world being at the mercy of a human--part of the very same group that caused him so much pain over the years.

Spoilers for chapter 4 of Reverse:1999 just a lil bit
I am unable to contain my sheer sadness for Schneider AND my pride for Sonetto's growth. By chapter 2 we are all aware of Schneider's rejection from the Foundation, leading her to join Manus Vindictae to protect her family.

All she wished for was to live just a little longer, to keep her family safe, to live through the "Storm" and grasp the future. But no.

Prepare yourself for the shit you bout to see

I don't think I've been this fucking angry over a video game ever since Wilbur in counter:side. This made me go, "ARE YOU SHITTING ME!?!" Like damn Sonetto had self control here the debate duel must have let her relieve some aggression cuz I would have murked that bitch.

Sonetto, I'm proud of you.
#reverse: 1999 spoilers#reverse: 1999#reverse 1999#do you think she found the note when she helped with the wounds in chapter 2-12#or do you think she found it from the fallen coat after Schneider had been reversed?#i have a lot more to say but I have an exam and im also super tired#everyone say thank you to Sonetto#she truly venged Schneider#I believe

Okay so I had to take a photo because for some reason I was unable to respond to this (Sorry anon ˶o̴̶̷᷄‸o̴̶̷̥᷅˶) BUT HILARIOUS TO THINK ABOUT
Like bro- Aleph is just staring at this message, Dr. Merlin and the Idealist scoffing and both agreeing for the rarest time of not beefing on sight with each other- looking at this short and unconvincing confession.
The idealist is ABHORRED- there is no poetry, no flowery language, NOTHING?! He just can’t, he will not take this already failing confession to your attention it is that offending to him, throw it in the trash! Burn it with the fire of his own SOUL!!!!!
Dr. Merlin is grumbling, now intensely, so this fool thinks that they have a chance with you? Their perfection? Their transcendentality? Nope! Not today, not ever. Dr. Merlin is too stubborn on letting this imperfection try to get you, much less even approve of this confession. If that were him, he would make something grand, but no, instead like the gentleman he is, he admires you from afar.
The Answering Machine only observes and is monotonous in his response, even then, he disapproves of the confession.
Safe to say, that confession is not even reaching your messages as somehow- oh no! Your wi-fi is acting all weird, connection is hard, and suddenly, oh oops- that friend’s number is deleted, better stay that way if you don’t want Aleph being aggressive with your communication to that friend. Dr. Merlin is the main orchestrator of being sure that friend is cut out of your life, whether planting some damning evidence, making them look bad in front of the entire friend group- or redirecting the message to someone else, but something tells me that Aleph will not take that so lightly.
