Introduction

My first and foremost intention is to share Asian adaptations/translations/retellings of Les Misérables.

Call me Hadley.

I tag the country and the language of the adaptation or translation, and from there you can navigate.

Unfortunately much of my resources are Japanese, so there will be a bias on that in terms of Asian content. Bear with me please ㅜㅜ

If you need information on where to find these adaptations, I can provide them.

I do update my introduction quite frequently, since it contains a list of adaptations/translations I have talked about,, but since this was a much later addition I made to my pinned post after its creation, some people may not be aware there is in fact a list. The power went out, so I opened the windows... the weather's getting colder here in the region I work. ;3; I could hear the rainwater in the streets splash as cars drove through them in the early hours.

I watched some fairy tale anime episodes I had downloaded, too. Including a Thumbelina adaptation in Sekai Meisaku Douwa Manga Series (World Famous Fairy Tale Series)--this Thumbelina is very sweet and so is her mother, I appreciate that this adaptation tacks on a "Thumbelina asking the sparrow to deliver the happy news of her marriage to the fairy prince to her worried mother" ending, because how forgotten her loving mother is always upset me!

It's quite old, the character designs are lovely, but the animation is minimal (this is definitely the "moving manga" variety), but it was dreamy and sweet and I loved the use of colour. Thumbelina herself as well as her mother was cute and enjoyable!!

World Fairy Tale Series has my favourite Thumbelina (the art and character designs are all so lovely, Thumbelina kind of looks like an older Memole, and her prince is adorable--this one doesn't go for a very fantastic look despite him being a fairy, he kind of just looks like a very typical prince just very tiny)
