Yeah I'm supposed to like this cos I did use to be this massive seiyuu fan/blogger back in the day but yeah....I'm and old-school oldfart who doesn't care about the new generation of seiyuu idols. Plus I never liked the novel nor the manga nor the yuribaiting😬Pass from me...!

Yasumi and Yuhi you rocked my world. It’s a shame that this show didn’t get much hype, but it’s up there with the very best of the season for me.

That’s a wrap! After all the retakes and stress, Yasumi finally delivers the performance of her life. Of course admitting to needing Yuhi’s help was the key to unlock her full potential. I love how they gave us the raw performance with the storyboarding as well, just pure emotion from Yasumi’s Shirayuri. I got goosebumps. The director and older actors believed Yasumi could give a 120 point performance and she certainly did that.

Couldn’t end the episode without Yuhi’s patented “there it is, I really hate that about you” 😂 she’s such a tsundere

Even with all the work Yasumi put in with the Shirayuri role, without a doubt the hardest thing she’s had to do is figure out what she likes about Yuhi and praise her on air lmaoo. Asaka’s idea for that segment was brilliant, I’m sure half of their fans ship them by this point so may as well give them what they want.

“There’ll be times when I’m jealous and lash out at you” yea, we know Yuhi. That’s why we love you lmao. Eternal rivals is the perfect sort of confession between these two.

Fuck I’m going to miss this show so much. These girls were amazing and I learnt a lot about what it really means to be a seiyuu from this. It’ll be missed ❤️

Oh yea, Yubisaki listening to every episode of their show but still being an asshole to the girls will never make sense to me lmao

The official Twitter account for the novel says that K Nogatsu’s light novel Seiyu Radio No Ura Omote Anime will become an anime series. The news was dropped during a webcast meant to get fans excited for the publication of the series’ eighth and final volume. The Uraomote light novels, written by Seiyuu Radio, are reportedly getting the anime treatment. Even though we had two promotional images, we had no idea of the project’s extent or contents. You will find all the information you need right here.The Seiy Radio no Ura Omote Light Book Series by K Nigatsu and Saba Mizore is well-known in Japan. ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko imprint released it in February 2020. In June 2022, they will have released seven books. From March 2020 to July 2021, Umemi Makimoto drew a manga adaptation in ASCII Media Works’ manga magazine. All three volumes made it into a tankbon. Manga Recommendation

If anyone is in the mood for strong female bonds, I’d like you to check out “Seiyu Radio no Uraomote” or “The Two Sides of Seiyuu Radio”. Two highschool voice actors host a radio show where their public personas act all cute and get along but hate each other’s guts in real life. These rivals end up supporting each other in the ways they lack when they aren’t trading insults. 

What starts as an interesting dynamic quickly goes into a surprisingly gritty take on the idol industry as an introvert character struggles with wanting to be judge solely on her voice work but being forced to keep up a cutesy alter ego that sings and dances, getting stalked and having their personal information leaked online and invasions of privacy, the stress of overworking yourself, the heartbreaking desperation to become a hit before you fade into obscurity and become yesterday’s news and start to have a hard time being chosen for voice work.

These characters also do some very not straight things, but unfortunately it remains in the realm of subtext. One rival is constantly blown away by the other’s looks and voice. For how good it is, I think the lack of attention its gotten is criminal.

After that angsty week of Yuri seasonals this is the type of mood reset we needed from the girls 😭 Yasumi getting a pep talk and regaining her confidence, Karaoke, the Christmas date and the much improved performance at the end! Awesome episode

Kagasaki came in clutch with helping Yasumi get her mind right, but I still think all this blame goes on the production staff for rushing thru the casting and recording process and then not helping Yasumi really get into the role. Like ofc you’re gonna have “retake hell” if you give the script to someone the day before..

That aside, like I said last week Shirayuri is the ideal role for Yasumi and she should be able to summon her and really get into the character which she did!

The karaoke trip was a great opportunity to blow off steam for the girls and wow Yasumi really ate that performance of the OP up. I know the mega fan stalker dude was happy af to be around his oshi. Long as he keeps it wholesome and doesn’t do anything to them I’m fine with him fangirling out lol.

Yuhi is such a big tsundere, the Christmas gift scene was so cute and it was actually something that could really help Yasumi. Seeing similar Kamishiro anime would def give insight into how to perform! Her little bashful face was so sweet.

And way to end the episode with a bang. Yasumi looked like a totally different person today when performing. Killed her perfomance! Even the vets looked shocked lol. The production staff really owe her an apology but whatever.

I swear if this drops below a 7 after the final episode. I’m gonna be so annoyed. Pound for pound most underrated this season.

It’s so hard seeing Yasumi struggle like this and I don’t think the actress at the start of the episode who put all that pressure on her about the next episode did the right thing.. like Yasumi is literally in hs and in the biggest acting role of her life, clearly struggling and you say some “yea no big deal but the fate of the series kinda depends on you” 💀

Now I will praise the cast mates for not complaining about staying later to help Yasumi re record her lines. With all the pressure she’s under the last thing she needs is people getting upset with her about mistakes. BUT the one thing that’s making no sense to me is what exactly she’s doing wrong.

Like the director keeps complaining about her acting, but what’s she doing wrong and how can she fix it? This whole production is a nightmare because they didn’t even give her the script till last minute now they’re bitching about every mistake she’s making without even being constructive.

Yasumi’s flashback to how she got started as a seiyuu really got me in the feels and reminded me a lot of Chizuru and her grandmother’s arc from the latest season of kanokari. I hate that Yasumi’s grandma didn’t get to see her become a Pritia, but at the same time I sensed nothing but love and pride from her grandmother about seeing her granddaughter pursuing her passion. She would be very proud of Yasumi and continue to encourage her now.

“Even for the sake of my acting I could never be as earnest as you” 😢 beautiful final scene there between Yasumi and Yuhi. They’re so gay 😩 need the confession in the finale. Now that her biggest rival and fan is gonna critique her, I think Yasumi will be fine and deliver the performance of a lifetime in the finale. Can’t wait

Just as we thought all the drama with Yasumi and Yuhi was clearing up and they’d have a nice rebrand with the radio show, we’re back with arguably a way worse situation than before. Why can’t my babies just be happy 😭

Really getting annoyed with Yubisaki being an asshole to the girls for no reason. Like literally their only crime is clearing up Yuhi’s name and ending the face, Yubisaki acts like they killed her family or something, damn. She’s so insecure about the fake personality she wears that anything that threatens her position among her fans she dislikes. I hope she gets humbled soon.

The behind the scenes stuff in this show really makes me upset at times. Like how the management and producers talk about the seiyuus as if they’re just commodities.. like Yasumi overhearing the two suits talking in the break room. Everyone is so obsessed with projecting these happy facades that they forget the human behind them. I don’t think the entertainment industry has to be something inherently toxic.

Main theme of the episode of course being the conflict with Yuhi and her mom over her quitting being a seiyuu. Honestly, I do really understand where the mom is coming from. Someone stalking your daughter and finding out where y’all live is a serious reason for concern and on the surface, Yasumi’s whole “I’ll tell them to not do anything” idea sounds horribly naive. Still, making Yuhi quit is too cruel.

Idk how the girls are gonna handle this whole “don’t talk to me” challenge but it’ll be interesting to see play out. We’ve already seen some very unhinged mfs in this story and we know how idol otaku can be irl, so I hope nothing happens to the girls.

On the bright side, little Yuri bath action? Yuhi is so gay for Yasumi and I love it. Only thing that can cheer her up is Yasumi boobs 😂
