Wow so the truth of substance X finally revealed.. for starters they’ve been drinking God’s lament all this time, which even the creator of substance x hates. The pill form is a way better alternative

But are the buffs you gain really worth giving up one of your primal urges? It’s kind of messed up that the guild has everyone drink that without explaining this stuff, or knowing it themselves. This does explain why Luciel has all these gorgeous girls around him and doesn’t even bat an eye. It makes for some funny interactions, but I’m rooting for him to actually get a gf 😂 at this point he’s OP enough to stop.

Summer 2023 Anime I’m Enjoying So Far

This is VERY early on in the Summer 2023 season. Most of these only have like one or two episodes so far, which means my general vibe assessment could be completely off the rails by the time we get halfway through the season.  Now, with those caveats, here are the Summer 2023 Anime I’m Enjoying: - The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today - Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead - The Great Cleric: White Collar Survival in Another World

The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today (Dekiru Neko wa Kyō mo Yūutsu):  Genre: Comedy Vibes: Jeeves & Wooster Tokyo Totoro Generally, a giant cat acts like a fastidious butler and cares for his owner.  The dream life.  Two episodes in and funny so far.

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead (Zom 100: Zombie ni Naru made ni Shitai 100 no Koto):  Genre: Comedy/horror Vibes: Dolly Parton’s 9-5 mashed-up with 28 Day Later (first episode only) Only one episode in and this one does a lot of initial setup for the main character to establish that his job was incredibly shitty, which is why when he discovers the zombie apocalypse is upon him, he’s hyped. 

Sidenote on this one:  It’s from newish studio BUG FILMS made up of a lot of former employees of a bigger studio - rumor on the internet (I read it on a forum) that they are definitely referencing their former employer in a lot of the shitty job scenes.  Dunno how true it is, but the animation is amazing.

The Great Cleric: White Collar Survival in Another World (Seija Musou: Salaryman, Isekai de Ikinokoru Tame ni Ayumu Michi): Genre: Comedy Isekai Vibes:  Vanilla Almond tea with extra milk and sugar While this is an Isekai (life in another world) genre anime, it avoids the usual tropes of 1. be horny 2. be bad-ass - which I’m appreciating.  Upon being reincarnated the protagonist promptly decides he wants to heal people and die of old age (instead of becoming an adventurer).  I mean, I know saying “he’s a sensible adult protagonist in an isekai” seems like I’m saying it’s boring, but I don’t think it is.  Only two episodes in and I like this dude and want him to succeed.

What I'm Watching, Summer 2023 Anime Season

New Stuff:

AI no Idenshi (The Gene of AI) - Episode 1 is basically a more ground level exploration of Lena by qntm. I'll see if it takes this somewhere new, or at least explores it effectively.

Helck - Shonen on the silly side. Dunno if I'll stick with it, but it's good dumb fun for now.

Higeki no Genkyou to Naru Saikyou Gedou Last Boss Joou wa Tami no Tame ni Tsukushimasu. (The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior) - What a mouthful. Here's to more villainess anime! It's pretty standard, if a bit confusing so far.

Jitsu wa Ore, Saikyou deshita? (Am I Actually the Strongest?) -This is an utter garbage show. I'm in for now.

Level 1 dakedo Unique Skill de Saikyou desu (My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1) - This has a few twists from the normal OP hero formula, I think I'll give it longer.

Liar Liar - High quality make-up-some-bullshit games. I'll give this one a shot.

Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan (2023) - I never actually watched the whole original, I'll keep with this while I can.

Seija Musou: Salaryman, Isekai de Ikinokoru Tame ni Ayumu Michi (The Great Cleric) - This seems surprisingly comfy? I'll watch for now.

Shiro Seijo to Kuro Bokushi (Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence) - A somewhat quirky setup for an unrequited feelings comedy. I might get bored and drop it, but not yet.

Synduality: Noir - Ergh. I'm going to try watch this because it's a half-decent mecha show and those are few and far between, but that "half" is doing a lot of work.

Undead Girl Murder Farce - There's something here. Sorta a Monogatari vibe, if it was about the people on the spooky side of things instead of the teenagers.

Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon (My Blissful Marriage) - This sure took a while with the Cinderalla setup. Suuuuuper slow in general. The supernatural hook is keeping me going for now.

Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha (The Dreaming Boy is a Realist) - This took me a while to figure out. I think it’s a banter show, ish. Episode to episode, mixed in with the banter is “hey, words have consequences”. The thing that made it hard to figure out is it’s also a romcom but we skipped the entire first act. He did the shitty protagonist stuff offscreen, and he has now stopped and the tsundere is making her initial tsun to dere turn accordingly.

Zom 100: Zombie ni Naru made ni Shitai 100 no Koto (Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead) - This looks like exactly the wacky fun I hoped for. Non-sequel anime of the season contender.

Sequels:

Mushoku Tensei II: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2) - Off to a solid start!

Tonikaku Kawaii: Joshikou-hen (TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You - High School Days) - More of an OK thing, I'm fine with that.

Carryovers:

Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha: Shijou Saikyou no Maou no Shiso, Tensei shite Shison-tachi no Gakkou e Kayou II (The Misfit of Demon King Academy Ⅱ) - Restarting from Winter 2023 after having been delayed due to "circumstances" (COVID).

Hall of Shame (things I dropped after one episode):

Uchi no Kaisha no Chiisai Senpai no Hanashi (My Tiny Senpai) - Usually I would be here for a cute little shortstack in a show about nothing but uh... no. This is too much nothing. Pass.

Suki na Ko ga Megane wo Wasureta (The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses) - Normally this would be my kind of show too, but the camera work makes me feel motion sick. Didn't even finish one episode.

Lv1 Maou to One Room Yuusha (Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero) - I dunno, everyone being an asshole and I don't really feel invested. Skip.

Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai suru (Reign of the Seven Spellblades) - I don't know why, but this didn't pull me in.

Summer 2023 Anime List

Last season went by fast and there were lots of hidden gems in there, and hopefully they'll get more seasons. This summer season is fullpacked and lots of goodies coming, and can't wait the hype of JJK 2nd season will bring and see Gojou once again animated so lots of screenshots coming your way :'D

Adventure and fantasy anime, PV looked great and funny, also characters seems to be rather nice.

うちの会社の小さい先輩の話/Uchi no Kaisha no Chiisai Senpai no Hanashi/My Company's Small Senpai

Height difference. Also they look so cute, so excitedly waiting how their relationship evolves. Kouhai is voiced Shin Yuuki, cast has also Shimazaki Nobunaga.

AYAKA/Ayaka: A Story of Bonds and Wounds

Excited with this one, looks amazing! Cast is great; Uemura Yuuto, Terashima Takuma, Umehara Yuuichirou, Toriumi Kousuke, Tsuda Kenjirou, Fukuyama Jun and Hayami Saori.

ライザのアトリエ ~常闇の女王と秘密の隠れ家~/Ryza no Atelier: Tokoyami no Joou to Himitsu no Kakurega/ Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout The Animation

PV looked nice, and story is rather interesting.

Murase Ayumu and Okamoto Nobuhiko in the cast, and PV looked funny and great. Isekai anime, and excited to see how it will turn out, and how story develops.

Lv1魔王とワンルーム勇者/Lv1 Maou to One Room Yuusha/Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero

Nakamura Yuuichi being main character's voice, so want to hear him much as possible, and PV was funny. The Demon Lord moves in with the Hero who isn't as strong as he used to be.

悲劇の元凶となる最強外道ラスボス女王は民の為に尽くします。/Higeki no Genkyou to Naru Saikyou Gedou Last Boss Joou wa Tami no Tame ni Tsukushimasu./he Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior

The cast is nice, it's including Fairouz Ai, Uchida Maaya, Suwabe Junichi and Ono Daisuke. PV looked great, and story is interesting so curious to see this.

Yay, so happy this got 2nd season so quickly. Can't wait to see these characters again, and how Kunato will face the evil tsukumogami who was responsible for what happened in the past and what haunts Kunato.

おかしな転生/Okashi na Tensei/ Sweet Reincarnation

As the title tells, lots of sweets and baking. Main character is voiced by Murase Ayumu, and the pâtissier is such cutie.

好きな子がめがねを忘れた/Suki na Ko ga Megane wo Wasureta/The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses

This looked so cute and sweet, and the cast is nice with Wakayama Shion, Itou Masahiro, Kimura Ryouhei and Kobayashi Yuusuke. So curious to see this.

This looked hilarious, and a bit different isekai anime, so want to see how it will be.

わたしの幸せな結婚/Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon/My Happy Marriage

Have been waiting for this quite a while, especially promo pics have been so beautiful. So ecxited to finally see it. Also to hear Ishikawa Kaito's voice with Kimura Ryouhei and Shimono Hiro.

Quite peculiar anime, and PV was more than interesting, so curious to see this, as detective is trying to locate her body with the friends and solving crimes in between.

呪術廻戦/Jujutsu Kaisen 2nd Season

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Can't just describe enough how much I've been waiting for this when it was announced. And finally see teen Gojou and hopefully lots of tiny Megumi and their lives together, so hopefully there's jujusanpo section as it was in first season.

Haven't seen the first adaption and heard that it was good so curious to see this new adpation. Also Saitou Souma being main character's voice, so happy to hear him with Yashiro Taku, Hino Satoshi and Uchida Yuuma.

Main character, voiced by Kawashima Reiji, looks so cute, and rather curious to see this isekai anime with different approach.

So happy that didn't need to wait a long when 2nd cour would come, and see Shall Fen Shall and other new characters.

PV looked really good, and story is interesting with the academy full of mysteries.

AIの遺電子/AI no Idenshi/The Gene of AI

I was really in awe when I saw PV first time, so have been curious ever since to see this. Doctor who fixes robots and humanoids. Doctor is voiced by Ootsuka Takeo who also is voicing Kunato from Monogatari.

Main character is voiced Kawashima Reiji, and PV was great, and fantasy world looked nice.

ダークギャザリング/Dark Gathering

Horror and supernatural anime, curious to see this, although haven't been that keen to watch horror but PV looked interesting, and one of the character is voiced by Shimazaki Nobunaga.

ゾン100～ゾンビになるまでにしたい100のこと～/Zom 100: Zombie ni Naru made ni Shitai 100 no Koto/Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead

Another horror and supernatural anime in a row with hint of comedy. PV looked promising, and main character is voiced by Umeda Shuuichirou who has so cute voice, also Furukawa Makoto is there.

Wow so Luciel has already gained a lot of respect from fellow clerics and even the pope.

I wish the show would’ve done stuff like this earlier. The training arc was ok for a couple episodes, but stuff got repetitive after a while and it really could’ve done with some good old fashioned adventuring.

It’s funny seeing how methodical luciel is with exploring the labyrinth. Taking his time, mapping out every trap etc. very smart. The training he did earlier on in the show has definitely paid off, though. The surprise from the others when he mentioned how he got to the level 10 boss room already was a clear indication of just how wild that is.

Looking forward to seeing what he gets up to next.

Damas y caballeros fue un placer ver este anime con ustedes. Un anime que me guste de principio a fin, el anime empezó normal pero fue agarrando fuerza con cada capitulo y lo que me gusto mas fue que el prota se iba fortaleciendo poco a poco con el pasar del tiempo con lo que tenia a su disposición para ser un isekai ya que todos saben que en un isekai el prota esta roto como todos sabemos. También algo que me gusto es que también consigue a sus waifus con esfuerzo y dedicación y no como el típico isekai del prota roto con 20 mil waifus detrás de el. Un anime bien hecho, que me gusto mucho y que lo recomiendo si o si. Mi calificación es 10/10. El anime se llama Seija Musou: Salaryman, Isekai de Ikinokoru Tame ni Ayumu Michi. #anime
