more leon headcanons
i miss him i miss him i miss him i miss him i miss him i miss him
i miss my wife, tails.
so lets talk about him.
⟢ leon was 6 years old when his family was murdered. there was a time when he could remember all of their faces. yet as he gets older, their faces have become a lot more blurry. sometimes he catches himself staring into the mirror. did nonno have the same nose as he did? was he the same blonde as his nonna? does he have his moms' smile? were his dad's eyes just as blue as his? when they looked at him, did they see themselves in him as he's so desperatley trying to remember them in him?
⟢ leon is the italian version of a "no sabo" kid. he knows the language, yet doesn't seem to be able to put the words together himself. he just kinda stands there nodding his head with a blank stare. then when he has to respond he's just kinda like "uuuhhhh tbh idk". he knows how to correctly pronounce some words and phrases, but that's about it.
⟡HOWEVER, he will call his lover with italian terms of endearment, i.e., amore mio, cucciolotta, cuore mio, piccola, etc. he might even say some phrases that he does know in italian, i.e., Io e te per sempre (you and me forever), sei la mia vita (you are my life), ti amo tanto (i love you so much), etc.
+p.s. sorry for any misinterpretations, i'm not italian but i am mexican so spanish and italian are not too different (???) but please correct me if i'm wrong!
⟢ leon has always been a dinosuar guy. he's watched probably every dino documentary thats ever been made and rewatches them whenever they're on. so, naturally, whenever he travels for work, he'll try his best to visit every museum he possibly can to see their dino exhibit and nothing else. of course, as het gets older (probably DI to RE6) he'll explore the other exhibits but for rn he'll just stick to the dino exhibits. and if you must ask him what his favorite dinosuar is, he'll say the answer he said as a kid, a spinosaurus. it's common enough for people to know and not give him a strange look of confusion. but really, his heart belongs to the pachycephalosaurus.
⟡ of course, in its natural progression, leon will also delve into a fascination of raptors and reptiles. he'll go to zoos and spend his time in the reptile exhibit. he'll also go bird watching for any avian raptors he can find. this also does mean that he has nice pair binoculars and will buy a native bird identify guide when he travels. his documentary options have now expanded with his two new interests which really excites him.
⟢ whether you believe it or not, leon is actually more of a fruity cocktail kinda guy. he doesn't mind beer or hard liquor, especially when he needs something strong and to the point. something to help him drink away the bad memories and all too realistic nightmares. but if he's just in the mood to enjoy himself, leon will cook up a salty dog or a cranberry vodka.
⟢ leon oh so terribly wants kids. but before he forces you into his life, he never thought that to be possible. so in his off time, he would volunteer for the NICU at the local hospital to be a baby cuddler. he got into it after he tried it with rebecca. it gave him the sense that everything will be okay, that even if he can't have a few of his own, at least he can be there for little ones that need someone, even if its for a moment.
⟡ TRUST, that once you do have a baby with this man, he's all over them. that baby will never not be in his arms or in the proximity of him. he's on spit up and diaper duty. baby wakes up late at night crying? no worries, he's already in the room (he was sleeping on the nursery floor). you will almost have to battle this man to hold YOUR baby.
⟢ leon is actually a really big fan of romcoms and time pieces. in fact, his favorite time piece movie is pride and prejudice. oh he absolutely adores romantic pieces like that especially because he's a hopeless romantic at heart. he's fallen in love with the idea of falling in love with a girl he's just met and having soft intimate moments with them. his guilty pleasure romcom is 13 going on 30, especially since after the whole plagas incident, the movie was just released and he binged that movie on repeat.
⟡ BUT, just because he likes time pieces and romcoms doesn't mean he doesn't like action or thriller movies. leon's a really big fan of the matrix series and star wars series. also the fast and furious franchise is actually where his love of fast cars and motorcycles stem from. he just can't do any horror movies because baby has trauma :(
₊˚⊹ ᥫ᭡. 𓂃
it's not much, but i thought these were silly and gave him a little more character. please let me know what you think or if you have any headcanons of your own!!!

𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐘 𝐁𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒. i was gonna ask her to be my real girlfriend.
word count. 1.5k warnings. chaewon being a bitch, misunderstandings, slander, breaking up.
It wasn't exactly convenient that two members of the group weren't speaking as they were preparing for their comeback. Today, especially. They would be appearing on Music Bank again for their half year special, as they were one of the first place winners this year. Nadia was okay now, or at least better. She wouldn't look Rei in the eye, though, and since they were next to each other in the official line up, it was an issue.
“Okay, can Sei stand next to Nadia instead?” Manager Iseul had asked them as they prepared backstage. Sei, who had just finished getting her necklace latched around her neck, stayed silent until the staff had exited the room.
“I'm fine with that, but wasn't the point in doing the official order so that new fans could learn our faces. It doesn't take a dumbass to tell me and Rei apart, but some people think Yoongi sunbaenim and J-Hope sunbaenim look alike.” With that, she glanced at their leader, who huffed as she cleared her curly hair out of her face.
“In my defense, they at the time looked very similar! And she's right. I would rather make sure everyone is comfortable and okay with it, but we're still a relatively new group.” She looked over to Nadia, who's eyes were focused on her DS, not playing any of them any mind.
“It would be preferred right now if the two switched.” He frowned, and Hades and Sei both nodded.
“So, Des.” Y/N called for her leader’s attention as Iseul left. “Are you excited to see your Jakey up close?” The younger girl teased, and Hades rolled her eyes despite the smile on her face that appeared on her face. ENHYPEN had also won first place this year, and they would be standing next to each other.
“He's not mine.” She denied. “But hopefully he will be soon.” She grinned, toying with her necklace. Sei squealed excitedly, spinning the younger girl’s chair around to face her. Y/N jumped off the couch and joined her.
“Are you gonna ask him out today?” Sei asked, both of her hands on Hades’s shoulders. While the two of them interrogated Hades, Rei had left the room unannounced. She found herself in front of Wonyoung’s prep room, knocking on it twice. The aforementioned girl opened the door, and Rei grinned, but the smile quickly dropped when she saw Wonyoung’s serious expression.
“Come in. I think we should talk.” Wonyoung had said, opening the door wider so she could enter. Once she did, she closed the door behind her, locking it so no one would accidently walk in.”When were you gonna tell me Nadia liked me?” She questioned the white-haired girl. After the two had been caught by the maknae, Nadia left nothing unsaid. Including the fact that she had liked Wonyoung. “No wonder you were so okay with me not wanting anyone to know, you were hiding shit from me and her!”
“I never told you because it wasn't my place to tell you about her crush.” Rei said, sitting down. Wonyoung walked over to stand in front of her, arm crossed.
“But it was your place to date me? Knowing she liked me?” Wonyoung’s voice rises, and her cheeks start getting redder. When Rei doesn't answer, Wonyoung shakes her head, walking over to her bag, digging through it. She walks back over to the girl, dropping a necklace Rei had gotten her for their first month anniversary into her lap. “Look, I care about you alot, I love you. But that is such a shitty thing for you to do. That's not something the rei i know, or i thought i knew, would do. I can't be with a liar.” Wonyoung's voice quivers, and she sits next to her. The two sit there, Wonyoung crying while Rei stares at the wall in front of the two. Wonyoung gulps, leaning in to kiss Rei’s cheek, but she stands up, gripping the necklace. She goes towards the door, not looking back.
“I’m sorry, Wonyoung.” Is all she says, still not facing her, before leaving the room. She makes it around the corner before she stops, leaning against the wall, sliding down it. Before she could fully process it, tears were streaming down her face. She put her hand over her mouth to try to stop the sounds from leaving her mouth, not wanting anyone to hear her. In the entire time she had been with the group, since the group was put together, nobody had ever seen her cry. Sei had joked she took Ariana Grande’s ‘No Tears Left to Cry.’ too seriously. She hears someone coming around the corner and stands up, wiping away her tears before plastering a smile onto her face. And turning the corner is no one other than Choi Chaewon.
“Sorry,” Chaewon says as she bumps into the girl, an innocent look on her face. Rei shakes her head, muttering an apology. Unbeknownst to Rei, Chaewon was standing outside of Wonyoung's room the entire time, Rei too distressed to notice her. “Do you know which way the Vevila dressing rooms are?” She asked, doe-eyed. Rei sniffs.
“Uh, the way you just came from, around the corner to the left. I have to use the bathroom.” She said monotone before turning around. Chaewon smirked as she watched the taller girl rush away.
“One down, four more to go.” Chaewon said happily as she skipped towards the dressing rooms. The door was cracked, not enough for them to see someone standing outside but enough for Chaewon to peek in.
“You're gonna ask Jake-oppa out right now?” Nadia asked, sitting criss crossed on the couch facing her leader.
“After I fixed my earrings, they're stuck on my dress.” She sighed, trying to unhook it without damaging the dress. Chaewon frowned, moving away from the door, heading back to her dressing room. Once there, she paced across her room. Hades confessing to Jake was not part of her plan. But with every error calls for room to improvise. Since Sunghoon wanted to play hard to get, it would hate for her to flirt with his members anyways.
Making her way to Jake’s dressing room, she was relieved to see Hades wasn't there. Quickly, she knocked on the door, smiling sweetly when he opened the door. When he realizes it's not staff or one of the boys, but instead Chaewon, he grimaces, closing the door in her face. However, Chaewon put her hand on the door, stopping it from closing completely. He sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“What the hell do you want, devil?” He stares at her deadpan, and she fake giggles, pushing the door open and stepping in. Jake stumbles back, surprised by the sudden amount of force.
“We need to talk, Jake-oppa. I have a secret i need to tell you.” She closes the door, stepping closer to him. He checks his watch, frowning.
“I really don't have time for that, but thanks.” He goes to pass her, but she stops him. Smiling, she pushes him back.
“No no, I really need to tell you. Ever since me and Sunghoon broke up, I started having these feelings-” She starts, but he pushes her back. She stumbles, and he dusts himself off.
“Just no, okay? I don't know what sick game you're trying to play with Sunghoon, or the Vevila girls, but you won't have me being caught up in it; Sunghoon already told me what you tried and Ni-Ki already told us what evil shit you've done.” Just as he finishes, there's a knock at the door. Before Jake can blink, Chaewon is at the door. She only needed to stall, anyways. She was playing chess, it doesn't matter if they thought they were beating her at checkers. Opening the door, she sees Hades standing there.
Hades looks confused, glancing at Jake in the room and Chaewon in front of her. When Jake had pushed her off earlier, her jacket ended up being crumpled, hair flipped differently then it was style. Hades looked back at Jake, who looked red, with his clothes somewhat wrinkled from Chaewon pushing him against the wall. Hades looked back at Chaewon, who smirked at her. Without saying a word, she turns around and heads back to the dressing room. Chaewon grins at him.
“Have a good day, Jakey.” She says, walking off. He sighs, grabbing his phone and opening Sunghoon’s contact. While he didn't want Hades to assume or misunderstand, knowing Chaewon, whatever she was doing, he wanted to be the one to tell him, before she could twist it into something else.
Meanwhile, Hades made her way to the rooms, bumping into Rei on her way. It was clear she was crying, but her makeup was fixed and she was trying to fake a smile.
“Hades, are you okay?” Rei asked, and Hades softened at hearing how cracked her voice sounds. Like she had been screaming at a wall. The past week had sucked, and because they all had been comforting Nadia, they had iced out Rei. And while Hades knew that there was more to the story than what Rei told Nadia, she hadn't stopped to ask her.
“I'm fine.” The leader says, wiping away a tear she didn't realize had fallen. “Come on, the show's about to start.” She sped up for pace to the room. Later, she would ask Rei what's wrong. Right now, it was time to plaster on a smile and be the leader they needed.
A/N. honestly i dont even know what to say, but #chaeflop_out😭 we got seiseung, but at what cost??
SYNOPSIS. Y/N never considered once after she debuted that she would get the chance to (fake)date Park Sunghoon, the boy she had a crush on since he debuted. Sunghoon on the other had never thought he would get the chance to date the newly debuted idol from VEVILA. Both feel as though they are on cloud nine, until Sunghoon has to mc with his ex, who can’t catch a hint.

Oi! Posso pedir uma reação dos personagens de JJK, onde eles pegam a s/n cantando e dançando uma música em português?? Obrigada! (Sei ler em inglês, mas não confio muito no meu potencial de escrever na língua, desculpa! 😳).
Hey! No problem!! I'm just going to translate so everybody can understand it ;) "Hi! Can I request for JJK characters reaction to s/o singing and dancing songs in portuguese? Thank you!"
JJK WITH S/O SINGING AND DANCING BRAZILIAN SONGS
Warning: suggestive
1. Gojo Satoru: he loves it. There is something about Brazilian moves that makes this guy goes crazy. The balance of the hips are just perfect and he also loves to see his Mochi singing in Portuguese. He hugs you from behind startling you but you continue to move because you know that is what he wants. Needless to say that the music is long gone forgotten and you two are moving in your pace.
2. Nanami Kento: Nanami here likes the flow that Brazilian music tends to have. He also likes how the language is melodic by its own and when you're the one singing, it warms his heart. Also he can't contain himself and just stays there staring at your sexy moves with your hips moving like that. He takes your hand and guides you to your room.
3. Itadori Yuji: he joins you immediately. He loves to dance specially with you. He has that wonderful smile on his face and you know that he's doing his favorite thing to do with you. All is amazing until he asks you: "Y/n, I didn't know Brazilians spoke Spanish". You flick his forehead. "It's Portuguese, idiot". "Ohh! Isn't it the same?".
4. Megumi Fushiguro: this boy is burning from inside out. While he watches you move your hips around he can only think how those moves can be used in your hot moments. He doesn't need an invitation to pull you by the waist so your chest is on his. He holds your legs so you can lock them around his waist while he drags you to the couch.
5. Kugisaki Nobara: she loves it. She wants you to teach her how to dance like that. She wants to learn everything. Samba, forró, funk, axé. But she has a thing for funk, I can feel it. If you add some Pabblo Vittar and teach her how to move, she'll totally post a video with the two of you twerking a la Brazil.
6. Inumaki Toge: first things first. Toge here wants to learn those axé dances that all Brazilian knows how to dance. Like "Dança da Mãozinha", "Onda Onda", "Brincadeira da Tomada". You dance them together but he can't take his eyes from your ass and eventually grab it.
7. Okkotsu Yuta: his cheeks are so red that no matter how much he tries he can't hide the redness all over them. But he is also so proud. He loves this unique side of yours. He also loves the language and he loves Brazilian music. He wants to know all about it and sometimes he even joins you with the singing since he started to learn the language and with the dance just so he can rest his hands shamelessly on your ass.
HEHE I loved this one. I'm a huge fan of Brazilian music. I just love all of it and I love to dance them. I know all the dances. Since I'm a Carnaval lover I learned those dances when I was a kid. Plus, Brazilian music is amazing! We have many talent people here and lots of genius. If anyone wants any indication, send me a message, I'll be glad to introduce you!

Not just a soft princess - Azula x female reader imagine: Part Three
Your relationship with Azula develops but a reality check makes you question if you are wise to trust the princess of the fire nation...
Part one here
Part two here
Part four here
Part five here
Part six here
Your POV
Since the day Azula stood up to Ozai for you things changed. You supposed word got out Azula was protecting you that’s why people started treating you better but it could also be due to Azula’s presence herself. After that night you saw a lot more of her and you weren’t complaining. She attended your lessons more frequently and even took over some portions of them herself. You got more freedom granted to you and when you were with Azula you didn’t even need a guard anymore. Thanks to the clause Azula placed in the contract there was no reason to force you and Zuko together and so you no longer dreaded all the formal occasions. Instead you were free to do as you wished at such events and that often included Azula. You found her presence comforting but also enjoyable. She was witty and clever, making you laugh with her deductions and well timed quips. You liked the proud blush that would fill her cheeks when she made you laugh and the only thing better was when she’d laugh at one of your own jokes. The way her mouth upturned into her signature smirk, how her shoulders would shake lightly and then she’d realise you were admiring her and be unable to meet your eyes for a few seconds. You’d never seen a sight so beautiful and were convinced there wasn’t anyone as beautiful as Azula, ever. You realised you’d developed more than a fondness for her when you found yourself thinking about her when she wasn’t around. The realisation made you nervous but also excited for one reason in particular. You were pretty sure the fire princess liked you too.
You were thinking about Azula as you dressed for the party that night. You had been at the fire nation for 2 months now and the constant feeling of dread and uncertainty was now more of a memory. You still missed home but it was no longer painful being here, you were adapting. That thought in mind you frowned when your maid asked you what dress you would like to wear tonight. There were dozens of beautiful options but they were all green given Ozai’s desire to make you up as a earth kingdom doll. You were sick of the colour green now and wanted to wear any other colour at this point. You’d noticed Azula constantly wore red and it always looked flattering. You couldn’t tell if that was because of Azula herself or if red was simply a flattering colour but the fire nation certainly did fashion better than the earth nation and if you were forced to live here you thought you should benefit from that. "Are there any red dresses?" you asked and the maid looked at you "red?". "Yes...i just thought as i’m part of the fire nation now maybe i could show it?". The maid smiled 'that sounds lovely princess y/n, i’ll go find one right away".
Azula’s POV
Azula stared out of the window as her father complained about some nobleman. Typically Azula would hang on her father’s every word and rush to assure him he was superior to everyone but lately her mind had been elsewhere...well it’d been on you more accurately. The truth was Azula had greatly enjoyed her time with you and found herself looking forward to the next chance she’d get to interact with you. Sure she’d had her friends Mai and Ty lee growing up but she’d never had someone she could relate to or feel solidarity with. With you Azula felt that. She’d always figured she was the exception to the typical princess role but you had made her see that was incorrect. You were smart and outspoken, you weren’t intimidated by the fire nation anymore and it showed. Your confidence seemed to grow each day and while it clearly bothered her father Azula relished in it. Despite the nation you were from, she couldn’t help but root for you and it had nothing to do with the fact your fate was tied to hers. It was because she genuinely liked and cared for you, something she’d never expected to happen.
Azula was ironically pulled out of her thoughts about you because of you.
"What is she doing?" Ozai snapped and Azula was so distracted she didn’t turn around for a few seconds. When she did her breath was knocked out of her. Her eyes were drawn to you immediately and they widened as a smile formed on her face. You were wearing her favourite shade of red and you looked amazing. The dress was simple and so was your hair and makeup but that seemed to make the effect all the more impactful, Azula remembered when she saw you back in Ba Sing Sei and how then you’d been dressed simply but still managed to look amazing. You didn’t need to dress up a diamond, it was beautiful no matter what adorned it. Azula was biased but saw this as a good sign, you had donned their colours, surely this showed your willingness to cooperate?
Her father didn’t agree. "I ordered all the maids to give her green clothing only! What use is she to us if you cannot identify her as earth kingdom royalty at a glance". Azula thought the emphasis on colour scheme a tad ridiculous but tried to appease her father "i think it is only for one night, this is good though. It seems she is showing loyalty to us". Ozai scoffed "as she should given all we’ve done for her, less of a prisoner and more of a honoured guest considering we’re housing and educating her for free". "She will get us the whole of the earth empire". "So you keep saying but so far all she has brought is Ba Sing Sei". Azula’s eye twitched. Ba Sing Sei was the biggest victory for the war in decades and was the brightest piece of the earth empire. For her father to disregard that was ludicrously idiotic but Azula knew he was just in a strop. He knew your use he was just annoyed he couldn’t exploit every drop of it at once and she was more determined than ever to prevent him for ever being able to do that to you.
Your POV
"You must've been dreadfully bored to make such a bold statement" a silky voice called and you didn’t even have to turn to know who it belonged to. Azula always found you sooner or later but she was definitely getting quicker. When you looked at Azula confused by her comment she gestured to your outfit "the dress, I can’t imagine what provoked you to don our colours". You laughed smiling "i thought a change would be nice, plus if this is to be my home now i thought showing some loyalty to it couldn’t hurt, but given your father’s reaction...". Azula almost scoffed but caught herself. "He was anxious but i made him see it correctly, that this a symbol of unity. How you were proclaiming your support and love for the fire nation simply by wearing a colour...a very subtle but effective political statement”. You smiled "yes but honestly? I’m just sick to death of the colour green". That thought never occurred to Azula and it caught her off guard making her laugh aloud. Something the princess had never done at a formal event. She caught herself quickly but blushed to see you were beaming at her reaction. "I’ve seen you wear it so successfully i thought i would try" you smiled and Azula looked at you surprised. "I...i am flattered". Azula’s slight blush deepened making you more confident and so you stepped back from her and opened your arms "so what’s the verdict? Did i pass in red?". Azula glanced over you very quickly her blush still very evident as she purposefully avoided looking you in the eye "you know you did, the colour suits you rather well, especially with your skin tone...." Azula trailed off before coughing "so yes you passed". You blushed smiling too "i would wear it more but i do not know if that is wise". Azula shook her head "i think green is safer". You nodded your head but felt deflated "i thought as much". "It’s lucky you look good in that colour too then i suppose" Azula commented suddenly and you looked at her in shock. "Maybe it is simply all colours?" she suggested "that wouldn't surprise me". "It wouldn't?" you asked and Azula shook her head "not at all princess". You looked away first, flustered and now blushing too and Azula grinned widely.
Mai and Zuko’s POV
Mai and Zuko watched you and discussed your show quietly. Zuko was worried what this would provoke from his father and Mai was worried Ozai would like seeing you in red. They were discussing which outcome was most likely when Azula approached you. They carried on talking when they noticed Azula laugh. An actual genuine unprovoked laugh. The couple went silent and Zuko spoke first after a delay "did my sister just....". "Burst out laughing? Yes". "When has she ever...". "Never" Mai finished "i’ve only seen her laugh when somebody falls or says something stupid". Zuko nodded "what on earth did y/n sat to her?”. Mai narrowed her eyes wondering just that too. "Could Azula...are they friends?" Zuko asked watching you two talk and Mai paused "Azula did keep her promise to protect her and she did add that marriage clause to her contract risking your father’s wrath". "But Azula never likes anyone" Zuko frowned "especially enough to put her neck on the line". "She must really like y/n then" Mai frowned as Azula suddenly blushed. Her and Zuko watched the two of you both blushing vividly, glancing at each other excitedly and they both inhaled. "She really really likes y/n" Zuko gaped and Mai nodded "and y/n her it appears .
Azula’s POV
Azula knew she had secured your place theoretically but she still worried you were physically vulnerable. She knew you were a skilled earth bender but you didn’t know how sneaky fire nation fighting was. The earth nation was upfront in their attacks but the fire nation was a fan of knives in the back and so Azula thought it wise to prepare you. So she invited you to join her for an hour a day to train.
Your POV
When Azula first invited you to spar with her your initial thought was suspicion. Why would the fire nation want to train you physically? However that was quickly overshadowed by excitement as Azula assured you that you’d be alone and that she just wanted to show you some basics. You’d seen Azula fight and were more than eager to receive tips from her. Not to mention it would make the seemingly never ending days go faster. You arrived at the sparring yard before the agreed time to find Azula already there. "You’re early" she commented dismissing your guards and you frowned "i apologise i thought the walk would take longer". "Do not apologise being early or on time are the only two acceptable options". You smiled getting the feeling Azula was early for everything and your smile lingered as the princess had you warm up. After your cardio Azula started showing you forms. Basic crucial ones first like how to avoid a knife strike or block a blow. She made it look so easy but was also a very good teacher. By the end of your third session you were able to successfully block Azula at her fastest pace and you were thrilled. Azula had been springing surprise attacks at you all session and even once she declared the session over she attacked you once again. You didn’t even register it but instead your body reacted and blocked her using perfect form. Azula looked at you impressed and a smile broke your face "i didn’t even think about it I just blocked you! I did it Azula!". Azula smirked at your endearing excitement "yes well done". "You are a very good teacher, i am a slow learner but you helped me master that in three days!". "It is only one of many forms" Azula replied "we still have many more to go before you are truly a master or i a good teacher". "Of course but this is a good first step is it not?" you asked. Azula would’ve said no. She was always hard on herself and didn’t believe in small victories but your smile was infectious and so she agreed "yes, you did well".
Azula’s POV
As your hand to hand combat improved Azula turned her attention to your bending. She was more than excited to have you display your bending again and not just because she found it enjoyable to watch. She also knew you’d been strictly forbidden from bending ever since you’d stepped foot in the fire nation. She figured it might make you more comfortable to be able to bend again and so she quickly worked it into your curriculum. She was impressed again as soon as she saw you bend. Earth was the element of strength and you were very skilled in that aspect. Azula would catch herself admiring your back and arms as your muscles tensed before she’d catch and scold herself for being unprofessional.
It soon became tradition that at the end of every session you and Azula would spar using your bending and it was the favourite part for both of you, You were both in your element (no pun intended) and Azula could get caught up in the feeling easily. Sometimes too much...
The two of you were sparring and it was going as it always did. You would stubbornly hold territory and refuse to move while Azula would flit around attempting to dislodge your stance. It took a while for either of you to wear the other down and so when Azula saw you starting to grow tired she got excited. She attacked your left side with a flurry of attacks coaxing you into exposing your other side to attacks. Azula knew you’d block the attack with your quick reflexes but when she finally saw you neglect your right side defences she acted. Azula reached out for your exposed arm directing a whip of fire straight for it. She smiled as you noticed and went to block it when you lost your footing. The floor was littered with debris from all your rocks that Azula had shattered and a piece had wormed it’s way directly between your feet. You stumbled over the rock your defence forgotten as you tried to regain your balance and Azula’s fire sped at you. Azula tried to yell but it was no use as her fire hit you knocking you over, a trail of smoke following.
Your POV
“Y/n” you heard Azula yell as the blast hit you. You had been knocked flat on the floor but managed to sit up. You arm had took the brunt of the attack and you clutched your arm tightly into your side as it pulsed in pain. Azula appeared by your side and stared at your arm horrified. The moment you saw her worried look you tried to play it off and smile. "I’m fine" you assured her but Azula shook her head "no you’re not, come here". You glanced down at your arm but held it out to her.
Azula inspected the burn and frowned. It wasn’t serious, the skin would be healed in a few weeks and it shouldn’t cause you too much pain in the meantime but it would scar. “It’s not too bad but it needs dressing...come on”. Azula soaked your arm and apologised as you winced. She carefully dried it and applied a cooling balm onto it. You flinched and she frowned “does it hurt?”. “Yes but that feels nice, it feels cold”. Azula nodded. She waited for the gel to soak in before bandaging your arm carefully. “We’re lucky it was just your arm...if you’d fallen and my fire hit you somewhere else...” Azula paused “I should’ve been more careful”. “It wasn’t your fault, it was just an accident” you tried but Azula shook her head “fire benders aren’t allowed accidents, accidents get people killed”. You watched Azula’s concentrated tense face and wished you could ease the guilt she seemed to feel. Azula finished bandaging your arm and tucked the bandages away expertly, you watched amazed as her fingers worked softly and swiftly. For the first time you noticed there were many small scars from burns and cuts along her fingers and you watched her face closely. The princess was immaculate but on closer inspection, you could see the small scars and flaws of any person. It didn’t surprise you Azula kept hers hidden, she seemed like the type to tightly guard her weaknesses and you frowned wondering if she’d been told to do that as a child. From how faded some of the scar were you were guessing she had and it made you angry. Azula was a powerful force of nature but she was still a human with flaws. Not despite those flaws but because of them you viewed her as the most beautiful and intelligent woman you’d ever known and you wanted her to know that.
"Finished" Azula declared and then looked up to see you staring at her. "Why are you looking at me like that?" she asked. In response you blinked and leant across the table to kiss her. Azula jumped pulling away as soon as you touched her and you jumped back too, upset and horrified you’d read her signals wrong. "You shouldn’t do that" Azula said and you blinked "i’m sorry i just thought...we’ve been flirting and I thought you might like me...". "No i meant here" Azula said cutting you off "we shouldn’t do that here but other places...". You paused and slowly smiled at Azula’s tone "other places....so you do like me?". Azula shushed you "not here too many ears come on" and held a hand out to you "but yes" she whispered as you took her hand. You smiled at her and Azula’s cheeks turned a shade of pink as she shot her eyes away from you. Azula led you through the palace confidently and to the royal gardens. You frowned figuring this was an open space with many prying eyes and ears but Azula just smiled more "as a child i learnt all the best places to hide are in here". "You had need of many hiding places?" you asked as Azula led you into the maze. She nodded "this was my mothers favourite place and so the last place she'd think to look for me when she wanted to yell at me, i hid right under her nose and avoided detection". Azula led you deep into the maze before she stopped suddenly "here". A large hedge stood before you and you frowned “Azula it’s...” but Azula just smiled “watch”. She pressed her hands under the left side and pushed the bush to the side. It moved aside easily and Azula stepped through. You followed and found yourself behind large grass sculptures. They perfectly obscured you and gave you a small secluded area. You were still admiring how the hedge just bounced back hiding your entrance perfectly when you realised Azula was close behind you staring at you. Suddenly she couldn’t wait any longer and she kissed you. You laughed at her eagerness but kissed her back. As you were taller Azula wrapped her arms around your neck to be able to reach you easier. You rested your hands on her waist and smirked as Azula almost made you lose your balance in her excitement. You were thoroughly enjoying the kiss when Azula broke it and shot away from you "come on we have to keep moving" she laughed and tugged you out of your hidden area. “Why?” you asked and Azula smiled “you only go undetected as long as you keep moving so that’s what we’ll do”. Azula tugged you into another perfectly hidden alcove and brought her lips to your again before pulling away again just as you were slipping into it. Azula smirked at you exasperated look and you got the feeling she was toying with you. So in the third hiding spot Azula brought you too as soon as she had hidden your entrance you trapped her against it. Being taller had it’s advantages and you gripped Azula’s waist while hovering over her “No more running princess”. Azula grinned and happily accepted her fate.
You liked these hiding places in the garden and apparently so did Azula. She leant against your arms the most content you’d ever seen her. You could see why she loved it here. You could hear other people in the gardens but it felt so wonderfully private. The weather was beautiful and you laid down looking at the sun. “This is one thing I have grown to love about the fire nation, the weather...it’s so nice and warm here” you smiled. “Well it is summer” Azula smirked leaning on her forearms to look down at you “but it is beautiful, wait until you see the festival for the summer solstice. The sky stays light all night and the streets are lit with lanterns everywhere, the whole city glows and all night you just bask in the beauty” Azula sighed “I can’t wait to show it you all”. “Yeah?” you asked and Azula nodded “it’s beautiful even in winter too! We don’t get snow but it gets colder meaning there’s fires on every street corner. They even make a hot chocolate with fire flakes that you have to try” Azula told you “we can take a trip into town and get one....and the restaurants serve festive dishes that are spiced to perfection we will see it all” Azula declared and you smiled. “That sounds amazing”. Azula smiled up at you before leaning further into you.
A while later with a large sigh Azula sat up moving off you “I have to go...my father requested to see me and Zuko, it must be important...if it wasn’t there’s no way I’d go” she told you and you smiled “I know, it’s fine i’ll find someway to manage without you”. Azula smirked “I know Mai and Ty lee were going shopping, you could always tag along with them...they’re not as good company as me of course but it may distract you until i’m done”. “Until you’re done?”. Azula nodded “how about I come join you when i’m finished?”. You nodded your head “sounds perfect” and kissed her softly. Azula smiled and lingered with you as long as she could before pulling back “come on”. She stood up swiftly before helping you up. You walked out of the gardens together and Azula stopped at one path “Ty lee and Mai will be that way, you should hurry so you catch them”. You nodded “have fun at your meeting” and with a purposeful brush against her hurried away. You noticed Azula stayed long enough to watch you walk away before she rushed off for the meeting and smirked, she was definitely going to be late for that.
You came around the corner abruptly and both Mai and Ty lee jumped. “Y/n” Ty lee said surprised “are you okay princess?”. You nodded “I was actually looking for you both, I was wondering if i could accompany you into town? Azula mentioned you were going and suggested you wouldn’t mind”. “Of course we don’t” Ty lee cried and Mai shot her a look. You glanced at Mai who paused before sighing “of course you can come princess”. You smiled “thanks” and went to walk out of the open door but Mai held out her arm “are you forgetting something? A royal can’t leave the palace without a quadrant of guards and a royal precession”. “But she’s not fire nation does she really have to?” Ty lee asked and Mai sighed “you know she does” and turned to call the nearest servant.
It was easy to forget everything the fire nation stood for while you were running around the gardens with Azula but it had a way of reminding you. Mai and Ty lee were not permitted in the royal procession with you and had to walk behind you. The fire nation guards cleared the way through the streets mercilessly and you could see why Mai hadn’t wanted you to come. The citizens were either excited to see you and got beaten back or had been pushed forwards accidentally and suffered the same fate. When you finally reached your destination you felt so malevolent and cruel as the towns people stared but dared not come close. You’d never left the palace in the earth kingdom but there were often parties when normal people could come and they never hesitated to approach or touch you, here you bet the guards would have their hands if they tried. “Y/n?” Ty lee asked as you stared at the guards *controlling* the crowd. “Are you okay?” Ty lee asked and you paused before nodding “i’m fine” and you followed her inside.
Everywhere you went caused a fuss and you felt like you stuck out like a sore thumb. Ty lee wanted to go clothes shopping with Mai but because none of the shops sold green clothes you couldn’t join in. Every time you left a store you had to get back into your stupid cart even if the store was simply down the street. Each store you went into ignored Ty lee and Mai and only focused on you being the royal. You hated all the special treatment you received. You didn’t deserve it and you didn’t want it but there was no escaping it. This was the fire nation.
“What’s wrong y/n?” Ty lee asked “ you’ve barely touched your food” she said noticing how you were just pushing it around. You frowned “I just feel like i ruined your day, everywhere I go I causes a scene, it must be so annoying”. Ty lee shook her head “you haven’t ruined anything we’re used to it”. “How?” you asked and Mai fixed you with a look “you’re not the first royal we’ve travelled with, Azula and Zuko have the same rules but they revel in it a lot more than you”. “They enjoy it?” you asked shocked. “Well not so much Zuko” Mai admitted “but Azula does, she says it reminds people of their position....beneath her”. Mai’s disgusted tone wasn’t lost on you but it did make you think. You didn’t doubt Mai was being truthful, you’d seen first hand how Azula could act but recently you’d started forgetting. You realised with a crashing taste of reality that Azula was probably only like she was with you, with everyone else...who knows how cruel she was. You stared down at your hands feeling guilty for your morning activities with her. What on earth had you been doing sneaking around with the princess that conquered your city. Azula had taken over your home and sent your uncle into exile. The only reason you were here was because she liked you, if you hadn’t have appealed to her would you be exiled too or worse? These thoughts worried you and you couldn’t help but feel like a hypocrite. You’d personally sworn to detest the fire nation but had fallen for the princess? You couldn’t allow that and so you decided to call whatever this was off with Azula. As soon as she joined you.
However Azula never made it to the cafe. When you returned to the palace in the evening there was still no word from her and you weren’t sure if you were relieved or not. The evening pressed on when suddenly there was a knock at your door. You opened it to find Azula smiling widely. “I know I missed this afternoon but I have a good reason!” she waved some servants into your room and you watched confused as they started packing your belongings. “Azula what on earth....”. “We don’t have time!” she said excitedly “we’re leaving tonight! Mai, Ty lee and Zuko have to come too but it will still be great y/n”. “What will be...where are we going?”. “Ember Islands” Azula smiled.

KOT Ficlet #5 (Momoya Natsu/ Yoshinaga Atsumu)
When the lights start flashing like a photo booth (And the stars exploding, we'll be fireproof.)
Warning: Themes of underage drinking and implied sexual content.
Natsu roughly based on this art by @sasukeslove
A small AU on MomoYoshi's first meeting:
...
Natsu is six when he learns about Angels.
He’s perched on mama’s lap, carrying a new storybook with tiny hands and slowly pronouncing all the words. Her proud smile encourages him to read the larger words too, the ones he’d avoid out of embarrassment—something about a pro-fe-cky and a pro-mice that He exists up there somewhere, over the pillowy clouds watching down on them.
Mama tucks him in that night and tells Natsu to close his eyes and pray because Angels only come to good boys.
He’s ten when it all sounds like bullshit to him.
Over the years, Mom’s rosy smile had withered into a fatigued sigh, a cry for help to the God that never answers no matter how much they pray. Dad was more a guest than a resident. He came around once in a while to eat lunch—with a taut smile plastered eerily over his smooth features—and swiftly vanish to not return in that week .
They’ve stopped waiting for him and Natsu stops asking questions.
He’s thirteen when he meets Sei, a child around his age, except so much more charming and calm and composed for someone that carried half the same set of genes Natsu had. He learns of his father’s betrayal and is honestly shocked at his own lack of surprise. Still, he questions his God and why why why would He let mom’s heart shatter like that?
Sei is quick to laugh and tell him that God doesn’t exist and mom is just a victim to their monster of a father.
So he goes home that day to his outraged mother, hair coloured like glittery Christmas tinsel and sapphire lenses replacing his usual shade of honey brown. She snaps at the sight, yelling at him till her throat closes up, till nothing but a harsh sob escapes her and he lets her. They both had to cope somehow.
By the fall of his fourteenth year, he gets pierced four times and stops talking to his mother almost completely.
To hell with dad. To hell with God.
Natsu is fifteen, and he doesn’t care about anything anymore.
He’s fifteen and quickly realising from his daily job as a guitarist in the club that girls aren't attractive no matter how much they flock around him. He still humours them sometimes, a touch here, a kiss there since the pay is good enough for him to add some extra service on his part.
Mom plies herself with work as often as possible, to douse her misery in the decayed scent of piled papers and clunking keyboards. She leaves Natsu to deal with everything else on his own like the obedient son he is, letting him go like dad left her.
Natsu is alright, though. He’s done this far longer than she knows.
He stops reaching out to her, stops talking to someone up in the skies, settling instead to live a tranquil life in the shadows, under the dependable shade of music. He hates people. He hates the world.
Natsu is basking in the warmth of another uneventful day in the club, when in walks a boy out of fucking nowhere and his entire world tips on its axis.
The boy takes shaky, wary steps as if he were balancing on a trapeze. Dark black bangs like thick black rain spill over the side of his face, half covering wide brown eyes. Splotches of pink and porcelain white stick out where his sweater ends and skin begins. He’s small and delicate and beautiful, Natsu’s heart skips a beat. Or two. Or maybe three.
And why should he lie? Natsu has seen beautiful, quite a few varieties of it too. But this…this was different. This was unreal.
The boy looks around nervously before he catches something and there’s a spark in those hazel eyes, sharp and electric, a smile tugging at his lips.
Natsu follows his gaze. On the stage lies his own guitar—a pre-performance habit for people to know he was next. He took great pride because this itself garnered more clusters than anyone in the entire house.
Natsu smiles. So he was a fan.
He downs the customary shot of vodka, waving at the people before hopping on stage and wrapping the sling around his neck. He scours the audience for a familiar face and it doesn’t take a lot, to spot a splatter of ink black in the crowd, batting eager eyelids at him. The smaller boy realises the attention on him and glances behind to confirm his suspicion.
By the time he swings around, eyes blown wide in a stare, Natsu plays the first chord.
In an instant, his expression shifts to a mix of awe and interest, a silent worship and a loud cheer compiled in one small, thin body. He claps more than anyone else in the room, beaming like a floodlight by the time Natsu finishes.
It was nothing strange. He played among cheers every day but none felt as satisfying with this voice hooting and clearly standing out from his regular gang of squealing girls. He throws his head back laughing back stage when no one is there to see.
By the time Natsu gets out on the floor again, a little more thrilled for the night and dressed in something less flashy, he’s gone. He screws his lips in displeasure and asks his friend to make him something stronger than the usual.
This happens more nights than not, and it was frustrating him.
The moment Angel boy—as he’s dubbed him, steps in through the door, Natsu traces his every move and quickly registers a pattern. He only comes around on days the club was the busiest—specifically during Natsu’s performance, talks to no one and leaves before he has the chance to even ask a name.
Not that Natsu was interested in him or anything. He was just curious, is all—why this boy looked like a starved pet every time he saw him on stage and if he really smelled like soft winter blankets and warm fireplaces, all angelic and pure.
Okay, so maybe he was a little interested.
Months pass like that.
The mid-November chill comes with its blistering snowstorms and the club is jam packed—winters were some of their busiest months—and Natsu’s up to perform. Instead of preparing, he watches the door resolutely from the bar, tapping impatiently at the table.
As routine, it barely opens a crack, and he sees a sliver of ebony snaking it’s way through the crowd. The boy stands on his tippy-toes which don’t give him much of a view, so he does these tiny jumps—that are so adorable, for a second Natsu forgets his own name—and scowls when he notices no guitar on stage.
He checks the time, the stage and then scans the crowd. The anticipation throbs through Natsu as he follows his eyes cross the room in slow motion, dragging dragging until they eventually land on him. Everything stills—the thundering music, the singing and all he can hear is the low thump of veins against his skin.
It’s over in a flash.
“That your Angel boy?” The bartender gestures at the figure turning tail and running, drying the pad on his prized work station. He skillfully pours two coloured liquids into an oddly shaped glass and passes it over the counter to him.
Natsu hums, swirling the absinthe stained drink in hand, eyeing the smaller boy gasp as a couple slams against the door, clearly piss drunk with her suspended over his thighs and gyrating her hips into the man.
“Hey, chief.”
“Hm?”
“You think I can get off early tonight?”
The man raises an eyebrow. “Like when?”
“Like now.” Natsu answers, never letting his gaze falter from the head full of black hair slowly receding through the crowd, horrified.
The man guffaws, lifting a glass of water—since he can’t drink on duty—and clinking it with Natsu’s.
“Must be fuckin’ Christmas if you’re taking interest in anyone, so I’ll let this one pass. Don’t scare him off now. He already looks like a trembling lamb.”
Natsu knocks back the contents, swallowing the liquid till it numbs his entire mouth and smirks.
“I’ll try.”
So he follows the boy. Hands are immediately all over him from faces he recognises in passing—a girl he once kissed, someone that made him cake, but he pushes them off.
His boy of interest forces the hood of his shirt up all the way, and glances behind him once before increasing his pace. Maybe the lights are really getting to him and maybe Natsu is a little tipsy when he reaches out to grab his hand.
The boy flips around to lock eyes frantically, as if a ghost had seized him.
“Hey.” Natsu musters his sweetest smile.
“Hi..” The boy replies.
And oh, his voice. It’s sugary sweet and so so soft like—like actual rolls of smooth and silky cotton had woven them. He blushes fiercely under Natsu’s relentless gaze and stares where their hands were connected in a tight grip as if it burned holes through him.
Natsu frowns. “Don’t run.”
The boy’s gaze shoots up, and he’s pulling away.
“I-I’m sorry I really h-have to go—”
“It’s my birthday.” Goddamn, he must be really wasted to admit that. Now that he thinks about it, what did he just drink?
Twentieth November, the day he was born and incidentally also the day he found his father’s tongue down another woman’s throat, holding a child over his shoulder.
“Oh,” The boy stops, pursing his lips and letting the hood go all the way down before flashing easily one of the most ethereal smiles Natsu has ever seen.
“Happy birthday.”
“Thanks,” he replies awkwardly. “It’s not going really well.”
“No?”
Natsu nods. “It’s nothing different.”
“You want it to be special?”
The buzz in his nerves practically screamed a yes to that—he wanted something to remember, to bury the horrible memories he associated with this day, for the days he wished he was never born in the first place. He wanted to fit it all in this one boy in one night, this angel he didn’t even know, to free him from himself.
Natsu tightens his grip. “Dance with me?”
Oh boy, the alcohol was talking.
Angel boy looks at Natsu with wide doe eyes, peers back at their hands and gulps. Natsu frowns and releases his hold. He was drunk, probably a little more than he’d admit to, but he didn’t want to pressurize anyone—not when this boy already looked so out of his element, a beige hoodie and skinny jeans in a club full of scantily clad folk.
But he reverses the roles, grabbing Natsu by the fingers so delicately, he releases a soft hum of satisfaction. He rubs fingers between his own, feeling the brush of calloused fingertips on them. It reminds him of mom’s soft chest rising and falling when she slept beside him because he was her ‘perfect little angel’ and made him feel safe.
He misses it. Misses being safe. Misses being loved.
“Okay,” the boy mumbles, peering from under his natural hood of hair with a light smile. “Okay. Let’s dance.”
Natsu doesn’t really know what he’s doing anymore. The lights blink and they’re suddenly in stop motion. It tricks his brain into thinking of them as pictures trapped some place in his brain forever. So he stares and stares and captures the blush spreading like wildfire across the boy’s face, a smile widening in tandem with the soft beats.
They’re two faces among a thousand on a random winter night. The music isn’t his type nor is his attire anything to be proud of. But this boy. Holy heavens, if he isn’t the prettiest thing ever then the stars should be ashamed because damn, he’d beat them even on a bad day.
His hair sways—a steady swing of left right left right and a pleasant smile sits snug on his features like that’s where they belonged, that’s where they had always belonged and Natsu closes his eyes when their hands meet again.
This is perfect.
It’s when the music stills that they transition to a slower lull of movement, and the blaze of liquor in his blood emboldens him into yanking the boy a little closer. He lets him fall with a small plop on his chest and laughs when he rubs his nose, scowling.
“Why do you never wait back?” He asks, exhaling at the warmth the boy’s presence brings. Natsu puts his hand around his waist and he swears, it was like he wasn’t human, like someone had sculpted him out of clay, moulded to near perfection. And maybe he’s treading into dangerous waters, but his mouth had a mind of its own and there’s nothing he could do to stop it.
“I always look for you after I’m done but you’re never here.”
Pair of hazelnut eyes sheepishly peer at him.
“I’m sorry. I’m just.… not good at socializing.”
“So you say,” Natsu laughs, “But you’re doing better than me.”
“No way!”
“Yes way.”
“You have to be kidding me you’re so cool—and and so beautiful I really cannot—since the beginning I haven’t been able to take my eyes off—”
He squeaks when he's dragged closer by the small of his back. Their eyes meet. Natsu sees flashes of every happy moment of his life mirrored in them; His first recital, mom’s naturally loud laugh, the first time he played the guitar. They reach into Natsu’s soul and drag out his joy like the reel of a kite.
“I thought you were an angel,” he chuckles so close, he feels the boy shiver against his cheek. “I still do. Everyone here calls you Angel boy. Score a drink from them with that name sometime. I’m sure they’ll oblige you.”
“Angel? I—” He breathes a giggle, twisting silver strands with his fingers. “If there’s any angel here, it’s you.”
But this is fake, he wants to say. It’s fake, artificial, made of desperation because he never wants to look into the mirror and see his father’s face staring back at him. He won’t be him. He won’t.
“Atsumu,” he says. “My name is Atsumu.”
“Atsumu.” Natsu repeats in his head till it rolls naturally over his tongue. Like Atsu meaning heat and summer and everything bright and cheery.
Natsu purposefully lingers near his ear, to breathe his name in the air, smiling, content.
“ ‘Tsumu. It’s cute,” he hums. “You’re cute.”
“Are you drunk?”
“Definitely.” He chuckles.
Atsumu whispers, low and uneasy. “C-can I ask you something?”
“Mhmm.” At this point, his voice gave him a greater high than the drink he had downed fifteen minutes ago. Or was it an hour? He couldn’t really tell and decided very quickly he didn’t care, anyway.
“Why don’t you.. come to school?”
Natsu’s eyes open a crack to glimpse at the boy who trembles softly under him, as if he were admitting to a crime.
“I—” he continues in alarm, “I swear I’m not a stalker I just—Oh my god please don’t misunderstand me—”
“Calm down.” Natsu shushes, smiling apologetically at the few people around him that had been torn out of their aggressive make-out session as if they weren’t the ones that needed a room. God, if he sees another dick hanging out, he’ll have to bust out the chainsaw in the basement and go wild.
“So,” he leads them to a quieter corner with very few people and lesser eyes their way. “School,” he waves a hand dismissively, “It’s boring. Lots of people. Annoying questions. You know the drill.”
“Right,” he gulps. “Right so, I’m uhh—in your class I don’t think you noticed and I’m from an instrument club and someone asked us a question. Something about erotic sounds—wait that sounds bad—not erotic erotic but.…Ah, I’m bad at explaining.”
Natsu doesn’t keep back the dreamy giggle that leaves him, swaying lightly to the music. He’s exactly as he imagined—hell, even his name was spot on—all warm and giggly and fluttery.
“I’m still listening,” Natsu smiles. “Go on.”
Atsumu scrunches his nose and continues. “So one of my club seniors—he comes of a little rough but he’s really nice—went to one of my other seniors house who I think he really likes, and her mother told him it’s—I’m sorry am I too confusing?”
“I think I can manage.”
“Okay, so basically, her mother says it’s the pause in between his words and actions. The space that is just…there. And so I was writing about it—because I write everything—and Oka-kun saw my book.”
Natsu scowls. “Oka is annoying like that.”
The boy giggles this time. “Funny. He said you’d say that.”
“It’d be nice if he attempted to change it, then.”
“And so he told me you play music, where you work and that maybe you could do something good for once—I didn’t say that he did—So…” He moves his hand vaguely around them. “Here I am.”
Natsu hums against his head, bringing him to a slower pace as the song changes.
“I’ll have to thank him for that.”
“You’re not..angry?” He says through furrowed brows. “Oka-kun said you would be if you found out.”
He’s certain if Oka showed up here uninvited, Natsu would promptly kick him out. Because Oka is annoying. Atsumu however….
“So? Did you get your answer?” He asks instead.
The smaller boy makes a face, pulling all his features in to make his button nose stand out more than it already does and pout.
Natsu laughs. He’s been doing a lot of that today. Laughing.
“I’ll take that as a no.”
“Don’t get me wrong! Your performances are splendid and I really can’t get enough of them but the answer…I still haven’t reached a conclusion.”
Natsu plays with the fingers in his hand, shuffling to let them sink into the gap between his. Atsumu stares and responds by shyly tucking his fingers in.
“Want me to help you?” He whispers, tapping the side of Atsumu’s waist with his other hand.
“Can you?” He whispers back.
Can he? Yes. Should he? Probably not.
But what use is logic anyway, when a boy the embodiment of a sunny summer day amid a bitter winter stood enclosed in his arms?
Yeah. To hell with logic.
Natsu sways his hips, raking his free hand through Atsumu’s hair. He releases a pleased sigh when the tiny fingers between his tighten as if it were the only thing anchoring him to reality, which was good. Natsu felt the same, like his sanity was slowly slipping through open fingers.
“Spaces…exist everywhere. In words, in voices, in time…” He draws their joined hands to his mouth, dragging wet lips over porcelain skin. Atsumu shudders, breathing in sharp, shallow exhales.
“These hands..there’s a space in between them too if you look carefully. We’re so close,” fingers tighten around his shirt. “But still never close enough.
He runs a palm down the boy’s face that angles and angles till plush, red lips are within kissing distance. They part and blow warm clouds of air that taste mint and chocolate in his mouth. Natsu smiles. “Space is where there is distance. Space is where there is intimacy. Space is where there is friction. And this exciting gap that keeps us wanting to be closer till not even an atom could squeeze in—” he leans in closer, “—is erotic.”
He backs away while he has the physical capacity to do so, before the alcohol overrides every decision in his head and they end up a tangled mess of limbs in some random hotel room, but Atsumu having none of it.
He pulls Natsu to himself, clutching the pleats of his shirt and tugging him down to his lips. Teeth knock loudly against each other and Natsu hisses lightly, parting to lick the tingle in the tip of his incisor away.
“S-sorry!” Atsumu covers his embarrassment behind shaky hands. Natsu wraps thin fingers under his chin, reeling him in slow and steady and closes the distance. It’s soft, like a snowflake on a tree, virgin snow settling on frozen water and ironically, melts him. It boils and freezes, ignites his soul into a firework of bursting flames. He’s touching, feeling, pulling until every inhale feels like fire in his lungs.
“Closer,” Atsumu murmurs, throwing nimble hands over his shoulder and locking their lips together like puzzle pieces on a gameboard. “Make the space go away.”
It’s chaotic, and it’s magical. Like every star in the galaxy twinkled around them tonight, like every blossoming flower settled wherever Atsumu touched him. He’s drunk on vodka, drunk on happiness, drunk on love.
Closer. Natsu pushes a knee in between his thighs. His mouth hangs open in a silent moan, eyes slowly rolling into the back of his head.
Closer. The hands in his air pull him in for another searing kiss, pressing for entry, to delve deeper, deeper into themselves. Atsumu nibbles lightly on his lip and Natsu lets him bruise him for tonight. To wreck him, destroy him.
Closer.
They settle for a slower casual rhythm when they part to breathe. He keeps them moving on the floor, smiling against a pair of swollen lips.
“School suddenly sounds much more interesting.” He says.
Atsumu squints incredulously. “We can’t do this at school.”
“No?”
“No!”
Natsu shrugs, pecking the tip of the boy’s nose. “Shame.”
“Then you’ll come?” Atsumu bumps his forehead against Natsu’s. “I’ll really see you tomorrow?”
“If you can walk home straight after tonight, then sure.”
Atsumu gasps and slaps him across the back, blushing as they leave the club, hand in hand, away into the wintery night.
Natsu turns sixteen—a little drunk, a lot happy—but he’s sixteen and he can pinpoint this as the day he falls in love even years later.
And every other birthday is insignificant but so much better, spent at home, in the arms of the boy that saved him in just one night, all those years ago.
Mom only ever asks where he’s going and who he’s moving in with while he packs his bags to leave. She frowns when he answers with the widest smile on his face, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
“An Angel.”
Ignore the sloppy writing haha. I'm writing this while travelling back home after a god awful six hour exam.
It felt too plotless to post on my ao3 kdkcd—
If you look at the colouring of Natsu I based it on (go give @sasukeslove all the real love), I imagine the art as the morning after when Oka's annoying Natsu and Atsumu walks in through the door (≧▽≦)

(Reincarnated Goddess Reader)
Shinnok has always looked down on them, not just the Elder Gods, but the weaker Gods as well, not just the Gods, but the Earthrealmers too. No one was safe from his undying hatred against all that opposed him. Though there was someone in particular that the mighty fallen Elder God hadn't looked down upon, even after he became a fallen Elder God. She was the graceful goddess of souls and light, also known as the guidance of souls.
~~~
A female with (s/c) skin, silky (h/c) hair, and vibrant (e/c) eyes walked through a grocery store with a mission in her head. To get the frosted lemon bread before someone else took it.
As the cart rumbled it's way through the isles filled with more important groceries, the female made her way to the bakery area of the small store.
There it was, right in her grasp, right in front of her face. A pearly smile graced (y/n)'s lips as her fingers grazed the surface of the plastic container filled with the last of the sweet lemon bread.
Though the little joy was quickly taken by a dirty blonde man standing at about six foot with darkened sun shades. "Hey! That was literally in my hands!"
The guy paused and looked at the girl, dipping his shades and taking them off. "Sorry sugar cakes, but I'm not giving these away."
(Y/n) huffed and whipped her hand to the man, taking back her sweet treat. "Who are you anyway?" She puffed her cheeks, put her treats in her small buggy, and crossed her arms at the man in front of her. "And what the hell does sugar cakes mean?"
"The name's Johnny Cage, world class actor and Special Force agent." He looked at her with an injured look inside his steel colored eyes. "As for sugar cakes, look at what you took from me."
"Excuse me, but YOU took this from ME." She moved in front of him so he couldn't even dare to take it from her cart.
The guy huffed in irritation. "Come on, I'll pay you back, I just REALLY want those lemon cakes!" Johnny pleaded, placing his sunglasses on his shirt making it drag down and show a small amount of a larger tattoo.
"No! These are mine! Why are you even here if you could go somewhere more fancy or something. Special Forces discounts or something?" (Y/n) complained.
"Seriously?"
"Yes, seriously." The girl took her small cart and walked her way to the check out. The man followed behind her and still followed her to her car even after she paid for it, begging for the sweet treat. "No, no, and no! Sorry but these are mine, go to another grocery store."
"But it's out of the way." He whined.
"Nope, sorry."
He watched her get in her car, for some odd reason helping her with her groceries. "Next time they are mine. Right?"
The girl sighed and rummaged around in a bag, getting out the plastic container with the lemon cakes. "Get in the passengers side."
"You aren't gonna kidnap me right?" He smirked at her.
"God no, I'm too lazy for that." She popped open the plastic, taking one and motioning to sit with her. "Want one or not?"
Johnny, finding the girl to be no threat, joined her in her car, leaving the doors wide open, and took a piece of the lemon bread.
"Okay, you're Johnny Cage right? Why would you join the military if you are an actor?" (Y/n) turned her head to the man, his amused look making the girl smile.
"Well I met the love of my life there."
"Geez, that's sappy." She replied back.
"Haha, yeah. Best choice of my life too. Had a sweet little girl too, much older now, but she's still my baby girl."
"Your an open book." (Y/n) sarcastically said, knowing it was the truth.
~~~
Time passed and it wasn't too difficult to become friends with the famous actor, and he truly was an open book. He didn't seem to mind though, about his relationship with his family and even the fact he started to ramble on about another world and a tournament to save Earth.
It was even more strange to know he didn't seem like he was lying or joking, but who was to judge? I mean, it sounded familiar for some reason, but a reason one couldn't point out.
"Your strange, you know that right?"
"Yup, Sony said that too." Johnny laughed to himself, the girl joining him for the heck of it. "Hell, I should get going, thanks for not being too much of an asshole."
"Hahaha, you too you piece of shit. It'd be nice to see you again, think I made a new friend."
Johnny nodded and left, waving before getting in his own car and driving off. "Oh shit my ice cream!" (Y/n) quickly took her leave, driving in front of the man she had just become friends with, and speeding none the less.
~~~
Johnny finally made his way to the Special Forces base, with time to spare before the sun drifted into the clutches of the stars.
"What took you so long Dad?" Johnny gave his attention to his daughter, a beauty made from two of the hottest people alive.
"Met a fan, nice person too."
"Yeah right," she shoved his shoulder as the two laughed at each other. "Anyway, Raidens' here and mom wants you to listen, it's something bad."
"Again? Geez, alright alright let's go."
The two Cages walked into a meeting room, Raiden, Sonya, and the others in Cassie's crew standing at a table. "Johnny Cage." Raiden stated.
"What's up Raidenny's." Raiden grumbled under his breath, something clearly wrong. "What's wrong?"
Sony placed her hands on the electronic map table and rested herself there while staring at her husband. "Raiden has found out something, well, more like somethings." She nodded to Raiden, allowing him to speak.
"Shinnok's amulet has been taken, replaced with an impressive decoy. We need to find it as fast as possible no matter the costs." Raiden paused, his brows furrowing.
Johnny noticed this and held his hand upon the thunder gods shoulder. "What's the other thing."
Raiden sighed and looked at everyone at the table, each person waiting intently. "If Shinnok is to be revived, then I know his targets. The Jin-Sei and another Goddess, one that has been dead for thousands of years."
"Why would a fallen Elder God Look for a dead God?" Johnny asked, his voice serious.
This time Cassie spoke up. "Apparently Raiden's Dad is Shinnok, and he thinks that Shinnok will try to reincarnate the Goddess. He said if she is reincarnated then Shinnok can do much more than kill people, he can control their souls and body. You know, like Quan Chi but in full control, and Quan Chi is an Elder God."
Johnny but his lip nervously. "How do you know this Goddess, Raiden? What does she even look like?"
Sony pushes herself off the table, though it was Kung Jin that replied. "We should worry more about the amulet Mr. Ca- Raiden?"
All eyes looked at Raiden, his shoulders and hands upon the table while they lightly burst with lightning. "The Goddess had (h/c) hair, (s/c) skin and bright (e/c) eyes. I remember she had a sweet tooth to Earthrealmer sweets."
"Who is she, Raiden?" Johnny pressed on, earning a mixed expression from the others in the room.
"My mother!" Raiden slammed his hands against the table, breaking it and shooting lightning through its now fried circuits. He heavily breathed in for a moment. "She is my mother, and Shinnok will not rest until she is revived."
Everything paused, the whole room going dead silent. Something hit Johnny though, something he needed to tell the God. "Listen, Raiden, I saw someone of the discription."
The thunder God looked up in a deepened sadness. "What?"
Everyone looked at Johnny as he continued. "Met her at the store, same description, even seemed to have a sweet tooth."
There was a deep sigh, but his body was still rigid. "We need to find her. Where does she live? Did she have her abilities as before?" So many questions were running through the God's head, like is she even okay?
"No and no, seemed to be normal. I'll send Cassie's team to find her, you guys have to look everywhere." Johnny pointed to his daughter, she was baffled by the sudden information, as everyone else was.
Sonya stood up straight and crossed her arms. "The rest of us will find the amulet." Everyone in the room nodded, understanding the mission at hand. "Johnny, go with Cassie. Raiden, what's her name?"
Johnny didn't allow the God to answer, trying to see if who he found was the right person. "(Y/n)."
Raiden nodded once at Johnny, probing his point that the girl he found was who was going to be hunted by the mighty fallen Elder God.
~~~
(Y/n) sighed and pulled out a small chocolate bar from her small stash of snacks. She pouted due to her ice cream melting to the point it became inedible, sitting on her small couch to continue to sulk.
From the time she had dashed from the store to get to her house, it had been about five hours, and those were a long five hours of sitting in front of the TV doin nothing.
(Y/n) sighed and grumbled, getting up from the couch once more to wonder around because the show had become a little too boring. The second she walked past the couch her door bell rang through out the house.
She paused, getting a strange feeling as she walked to her door. "Who is it?"
"I was wondering if you would like to see my product? It's is cheap and one hundred percent guaranteed to work."
(Y/n) cocked her head to the side in a confused motion, opening the door to see who was behind it.
Though she didn't have enough time to see who it was as a large hand wrapped around her face and tightly grip her neck. She gagged and thrashed in the persons grip, the sound of her front door closing behind them. Was there more than one person? If so then how many?
"Lord Shinnok will be pleased in your capture." A deep voice echoed through the apartment. A multitude of footsteps followed the voice, something that felt like hair wrapped around (y/n)'s waist and arms and dragged her closer to another person, their hands replacing the larger ones. Whoever was holding her now was clearly a female of sorts, a strong one at that, she could resist (y/n)'s struggles with ease.
"What the hell are you talking about?!" (Y/n) thrashed even more in an attempt to escape, but the female was stronger than that, and the new set of arms holding her legs together didn't help her. "Who-Who are you guys?!"
"Where are my manners? I am Quan Chi, faithful servant to Lord Shinnok." The deepest voice rang.
"I am Queen Sindel." The female voiced from behind (y/n).
The third voice followed, possibly the one that held her legs together. "My name is Lui Kang, Emperor of Netherrealm."
Listening to these foreign titles the fearful female struggled harder, especially when her limbs started to be tied behind her back and such. "Why are you doing this?!"
The deep voice, Quan Chi, replied to (y/n)'s fearful pleads. "Lord Shinnok is in need of your presence, and when D'Vorah gives me the amulet, he will return." (Y/n) could sense the smile upon Quan Chi's face, and it made the now bounded female shiver.
Another knock on the door sounded through the apartment, all heads moving in the direction of the wooden surface. "Hello? Yeah is this (y/n)'s residence? My name is Takeda Takahashi and I'm a friend of Johnny Cage."
Again there was a comical pause, but it quickly ended when (y/n) muffled up a scream and thrashed harder than ever, making her crash off her couch she was placed upon.
Dainty hands scooped (y/n) up and held her close, making her screaming and thrashing come to another halt. Though it was too late for the kidnappers, for the Takeda person had already heard what was behind the doors.
"Guys! Over here!" The once locked door was easily opened by a young man with black hair and cocky aura about him. "Don't make another move egg head."
"Your insults do not matter, it is the plan that must be rearranged." He looked at his captive, then at his slaves. He nodded in Liu Kang's direction, giving him the signal to take action as Quan Chi made a portal to Neatherrealm.
Takeda whipped out his weapon and allowed it to reveal its blades. Liu Kang rushed to meet his challenger. "You will meet your end young one."
"You'll meet your end, again."
"Your humor is dry."
"Geez, thanks." Takeda lashed his whip at Liu Kang, making the revenant jump out of the way as more challengers approached the two. A blonde female and a black female, each armed and ready to fight.
Sindel whipped her hair at the blonde, taking her gun away before she could even begin to use it. The black female grabbed Sindel's hair and tugged with all her might, making Sindel grunt and fall to the ground from the force.
Liu Kang eyed his new enemies, rushing up to the blonde female by jumping over Takeda. The revenant bicycle kicked the blonde until she was shoved off the railing of the second story apartment building.
The black female still kept a tight hold on the hair, and so to keep both revenants on their toes she took the white and black hair and wrapped it on Liu Kang's leg. Not knowing her hair was connected to her teammate, she retracted her hair and accidentally pulled Liu Kang back in the building, his head smashing hard against the railing.
Takeda whipped Quan Chi on his back, making his progress pause, but it was too late, the portal has already opened. The revenants seemed to be taken back into reality, the both of them rushing to Quan Chi.
The blonde had finally made her way back up to the apartment, now being joined by two others, a bowman and Johnny Cage.
By seeing her new friend the bounded female wiggled around once again. Quan Chi grabbed (y/n) and lifted her over her shoulder quickly, the two revenants rushing through the portal.
"We will have to meet another time, Mr. Cage."
"I don't think so, shit face." Johnny spat, clearly having some sort of vendetta against the spell caster. Just as the jokester said, Quan Chi wasn't going anywhere, for the blonde and the bowman shot the sorcerer in the same shoulder. Johnny then tore the female off his shoulder and punched Quan Chi unconscious.
The group of young adults assisted in freeing (y/n), a burst of questions coming from the girl. "Who the hell is that? Who the hell were the other two? Who are you all?"
Takeda grimaced at the bombardment of questions, though Johnny was the one to quickly fill it all in. "They are the bad guys, we are the good guys, anyway, we will explain it on the way."
"On the way where?"
The black girl sighed. "We're going to base, Special Forces base."
"How did I get into this? Johnny what did you tell them?!"
Johnny lifted his hands from tying up Quan Chi. "I didn't do anything, why would you expect that it was my fault?!"
Everyone took a sweet moment to look at the actor, and then at (y/n), the blonde stepping up to say something. "Yeah, what did you tell mom, dad?"
"Cassie, c'mon, let's just go."
~~~
(Y/n) walked around the base, it was just like how a military base would look like, if it was a bit more high tech. Either way it was fun to look around, seeing all the weapons, all the people, especially the ones with more of a strange look.
"(Y/n)."
(Y/n) turned her head in the direction of a blonde woman, older than the one that helped save her. "Um, yes?" She revealed her hand, wishing to shake the newcomers hand, which she did.
"My name is Sonya Blade, I'm the one in charge around here."
"Oh, uh, hello Mrs. Blade. I'm (y/n)."
"I know, if I could ask you to kindly stay in a close vicinity, that would be appreciated." Sonya has a bossy speech to her tone, and (y/n) didn't know if it was just because she was the boss or if it was because she had a bitter attitude.
"Um, sure. Yeah, of course."
"Thanks, there is also someone I want you to meet. Follow me."
(Y/n) nodded and followed without much of a question, all other than the one stuffed in the back of her mind. 'Who was she about to meet?'
She passed a metal case, one large enough for a male to be encased within its hard walls, she knew this is where that Quan Chi guy was, and by passing it she was given chills.
"Sorry," Sonya started. "But he won't be here for a while, he's looking for something important."
"That's fine, I don't mind waiting." (Y/n) bit her lip, wanting to ask something that has yet to be explained in all of this strange mess. She was already told about how there are more than one world, realms as they call it, and how some of the people had different abilities. Not to mention that Earthrealm was at war with another realm called Outworld, and even Neatherrealm if you look at the tension between the realms. But one question remained, why was she here in the first place? Okay, she had way more questions than one, but still, when were they going to be answered?
Sonya paused, as if hearing something that was off. She pulled out her gun and looked around. Then a sudden flash of lightning splashed in the middle of the clearing in the base. "There he is." She voiced, watching as the lightning disappeared as fast as it came, revealing a man with blinding white eyes under a bamboo hat and a, almost, martial artist outfit. It had accents of blue and small amounts of gold, counting the thick belt tightly around his waist.
(Y/n) leaned near the General and whispered one of the million questions in her mind. "How the hell did he do that?"
"Lady (y/n)," The seemingly godly man beamed. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you again. Earthrealm is in a state of panic, we need to get you to the Jin Sei to unlock your abilities, and your past memories."
"Wait-wait, memories? Abilities? I-I don't even know who you are, less of what you are talking about." (Y/n) interrupted.
"My manners," The man shook his head and bowed, which seemed to be an odd thing to Sonya, for her face became slightly surprised by his actions. "My name is Raiden, I am the protector of Earthrealm and the God of Thunder. As for the rest, I will only be able to show you."
"Just go, we don't have much time, and your help could mean the end of the war." (Y/n) turned to Sonya with a surprised look upon her face. "Trust him and go." She ordered once more.
Raiden extended his hand once he rose from his bow. "You will answer some of my questions, right?" The God nodded, earning a hesitant hand from the questioning female. Lightning engulfed her being, but it didn't hurt, instead it tingled through her skin and tickled. Sparks danced across her skin, giving off a comfortable warmth as her surrounding could not be seen anymore. The sparks died down, revealing a Chinese inspired temple surrounded by lamps in the darkness the surrounded the building. Rain started to drizzle from the thick clouds above.
"Lady (y/n), if you would follow me please." (Y/n) followed what he wanted, trailing behind him as he walked through a stone courtyard.
"Where are we going?" The female kindly asked.
"The Jin Sei, it is a force I am connected to, it gives me power as well as keeps Earthrealm protected."
"What would it do to me? You said it would give me powers that I already had, memories too? How would that even work?"
Raiden softly smiled to himself from her many questions and her clueless demeanor. "You are a reincarnate of a Goddess, your past life could, in theory, be unlocked by the Jin Sei."
(Y/n) didn't believe the God, then again, she had just learned there were Gods and other worlds, so heard this just added to the other crazy stuff she had been told. "What type of Goddess was I? How could I, even as a Goddess, stop a multi-realm war? It seems like an impossible fight."
"It seems like it would be, but being the Goddess of souls, you can do far more than fight. You are the most powerful Gods ever created, and you were one of the original Gods at that. I have no doubt you can do more than you think."
The two beings walked up the stairs to the temple, the rain falling faster and harder than before. "Wait, if I was so powerful, how did I die in the first place?"
Raiden's eyes were covered under his bamboo hat. "An Elder God by the name of Shinnok killed you. You had learned of a power you possessed and you planned to use it against him, once he found out he killed you." The God gritted his teeth, his brows furrowing. "The Elder Gods took care of him after your death, he swore vengeance."
"I'm a threat, to someone more powerful than you. I can't imagine that." (Y/n) lightly laughed as she entered the temple, waking deeper as she still followed Raiden. "Did I know you, in my past life? I guess you sound and look familiar, like deja vu."
"Yes, yes you knew me. We-we were close." He bit his lip as light began to illuminate their surroundings, a beautiful swirl of light showing itself.
"Wow." (Y/n) mumbled to herself. "Is this the, uh-?"
"Jin-Sei, yes. All you should have to do is step in it, and all should be revealed." Raiden looked down at the female, giving her a sympathetic look. "You must hurry, Shinnok's amulet has yet to be found and I fear the worst is yet to come. We need you."
(Y/n) nodded and took a long look at the Jin-Sei before slowly walking to the glowing swirl. "I just step in?" She asked, looking at Raiden to see if she was correct, he nodded in return to her question. Biting her lip once more she walking into the swirling mass of magic, a sudden feeling of being in antigravity lifting her body further into the tornado of energy. (Y/n)'s mind went blank for a moment as the energy took hold of her being, cleansing her of all of her filth, she felt pure and refreshed when stepping in.
Raiden watched as her body relaxed from its once tense stature, making her look exactly as he remembered. Raiden hoped Shinnok would not return and take her again, this time he was going to stop him.
~~~
Heavy steps resonated through the temple, an obsessive aura seething through the already thick atmosphere. A hand tightly gripped the amulet while a bug creature dragged Johnny Cage's body to the temple.
Shinnok could feel Raiden, he could feel the Jin-Sei, and he could tell someone he desired was here as well. The former Elder God gripped the amulet even harder, storming his way into the sacred room, the faint smell of alcohol and blood behind him.
Shinnok's white eyes scanned the room, finding the God assisting his mother from the Jin-Sei. "Raiden." The Elder God growled, placing his amulet upon his belt. "Your blood will paint the floors."
"Stop this, Shinnok! You have no reason to be here!" Raiden snapped back, spitting venom within his words.
Shinnok stepped forward, D'Vorah taking care of Johnny. "I have every reason to come here, you know that." He summoned his weapon as Raiden placed the Goddess down on the chilled steps of the inside of the temple walls and prepared himself for a fight. Lighting flashed over his arms and bit at his skin in a comforting feeling, though this was everything but a comforting time.
Raiden and Shinnok rushed at each other, both with the intention to kill each other. Raiden summoned lightning through his hands and shot at Shinnok, the Elder God dodging and summoning skeletal hands from the ground. Raiden flew above to dodge the hands, but they easily kept up with him, almost catching him every time.
The former Elder God grinned at Raiden's useless struggles, a hand being able to grab the God's leg and drag him back to the stone floor.
Raiden, before more bone hands could take a hold of him, electrified his whole body in a sudden burst. The lightning fluttered through the whole room, pausing D'Vorah's work and Shinnok's focus on the boney hand.
Raiden backed up, his back facing (y/n)'s unconscious body, his lungs burning from his weak attempt to stop Shinnok. "Your attempts are useless, Raiden! Fighting will get you nowhere." The former Elder God snapped, throwing his weapon into Raiden's shoulder. The force knocked Raiden back into a wall and with a struggle he pulled out the bladed staff.
"I will not stop, never." Raiden coughed out, a mumble and shuffling being heard behind him, though he didn't dare take his eyes off his enemy.
Shinnok on the other hand looked at the movement, a gleam of lust hitting his vision. He watched as the Goddess rose from her small slumber, her gaze hazy and mind fuzzy. It took a moment for her eyes to focus, and when her eyes locked with Shinnok, her mind rushed into a frenzy of treacherous memories. "Y-you!" She staggered up from the ground and pointed at the former Elder God, he had come back to collect her.
All her memories have been restored, keeping the ones she created in her short mortal lifetime as well, meaning she still knew what was going on. "Leave my son alone you fiend!" She stood beside Raiden, placing her hand upon his chest and slightly stepped in front of him as if to protect him, a motherly instinct.
"He isn't just-" Shinnok had started, but was being rudely interrupted by the Goddess.
"You never cared for either of my sons, you have no right to call them so." Her hand reaches for where a belt buckle would be, but what she wanted to feel wasn't there. Her own amulet has gone missing. In a fearful panic, (y/n) swiftly let her eyes travel around her waist to see if her golden and green amulet was anywhere to be found, but to no avail.
"Are you looking for this?" The Elder God cocked his head to the side, lifting up the amulet he had grown to call his own, as he listed over its power and its original user.
"By the Gods." (Y/n) cursed under her breath, stepping back and pushing Raiden with her. "That is mine."
"Not anymore." Shinnok summoned his bone hands and weapon one more time, clasping Raiden within the hand as he twirled his weapon around. (Y/n) just barely managed to jump away from the hands, needing to keep on her toes so she wouldn't get caught.
The Goddess huffed and summoned her own weapon, hoping fear wouldn't take over her like it had done before she was killed. Her weapon was that of a war hammer, similar to the one her other son had taken as his own, but instead of silver hers was gold with green gem stones. It held no specific power, but that was for another object, her stollen amulet.
The two beings looked at each other's souls through their whitened eyes, one glaring immensely, the other with amusement. They ran at each other, their weapons clashing producing sparks that danced across in the air until they fell dead onto the ground.
Shinnok was physically stronger, thankfully not as strong as Shao Kahn, but still strong none the less. The fallen Elder God uses his strength to push down the Goddess, (y/n) allowing her hammer to push his weapon to the side instead of her falling. She recoiled her hammer and slammed it against Shinnok's head, making him stagger back with blood dripping from his nose. "I forgot how skilled you were, darling."
"Your sweet words hit deaf ears!" She slammed her hammer down on his shoulder, then his back up under his jaw. Shinnok's bones cracked loudly, but he still stood tall. (Y/n) didn't stop though because she was getting the upper hand, just a little more beating up and then she could snatch her amulet back and trap him once again.
(Y/n) hit him harder and harder every time the war hammer collided with his body, she could feel the adrenaline and Raiden's aura cheering her on. Finally, after a long and hard beating, Shinnok had fallen, and with a quick throw of her hammer she allowed it to collide with D' Vorah and nock her out cold.
"It is over Shinnok, after all these years you have been taken down by what you loved the most. Serves you right." He seemed to be limp on the ground, so she grabbed him by his collar and lifted him to his knees, she moved her hand to take her amulet back, but it was nowhere to be seen.
(Y/n)'s eyes widened as she was head butted by the fallen Elder God. The Goddess staggered back and held her nose in pain, the God in front of her revealing the amulet. "I will never die, especially by your hands." A gorgeous but venomous light emerged from the amulet, dragging the Goddess into its clutches. Darkness engulfed the Goddess, making her feel as if she was floating in nothing, this was the end for her she thought.
~~~
Light emerged from the amulet, and (y/n) fell out of it in a daze. Quickly realizing she must have escaped somehow, and hoping desperately it was Raiden or her new friend Johnny Cage, she whipped her head around desperately. Though who looked back wasn't who she desired to see, the two figures proving they had absolute power over the situation, and she was the weak lamb to the hungry wolves.
The first figure, Shinnok, tightly held her so she wouldn't fall into the blue oblivion below. He floated, smiling down at her with a crazed look in his eyes.
The other figure though, was the worst thing imaginable. It consumed the realms and the Elder Gods as the two away from him watched in awe or horror. This being was the One Being, and the sights of him proved that Shinnok had won, and that he and her would be stuck together forever, never to be apart.
Seconds after Sero stepped into the blazing heat of the summer sun, sweat already pooling at the base of his spine under his thin tank-top, it began to snow.
Chilly pin-pricks dotted the back of his back. A gust of wind manifested out of nowhere and whipped against his tragically exposed sides. He held out his hand and watched as tiny white specks melted on his sweaty palm. Sero looked up, but the sun still beat down, unhindered by a single wisp of cloud. Goosebumps pimpled down his arms.
Well this sucks.
He was supposed to meet Todoroki in the quad five minutes ago for their daily study session (Sero had many charming qualities, and being fashionably late was one of them). Ever since their dorm’s AC had been tragically annihilated in an acid-related incident that Sero had absolutely no part in whatsoever, the quad was the best place to study. Outside, there was at least the suggestion of a breeze.
Okay, so it was a bit more than a suggestion now. More like a firm instruction, edging on harsh demand.
Sero rubbed his arms together, elbows tight against his poor exposed sides. Man oh man was he not a fan of winter. Winter meant trying to find the one jacket in the entire mall that suited his specific physique and hoping they still stocked it in his size. Where did the snow even come from? Why did it have to be now of all times? If he tried to make himself a jacket out of his tape would it actually work this time?
While Sero stood there freezing his ass off like an idiot instead of like, going back inside, a white-and-red head made its way through the quad to him.
fic art by @kim-namzoom!!!
“Hanta,” Todoroki greeted. His hair, grown lovingly past his shoulders in the spirit of spite (“My father despises it,” Todoroki had announced proudly after returning from winter break their second year), laid over his shoulder in a loose braid. Sero wondered who’d braided it for him. It looked nice.
By then, an icy sheen coated the ground and the wind blew loud enough to howl in his ear, and the nails on Sero’s fingers began to purple. “Dude, is this you?” Sero asked.
Todoroki shook his head. He stood close, nearly shoulder to shoulder. “I don’t know how to make snow.”
“Huh,” Sero said. “You should learn how. Then we could have snow cones like every day.”
Todoroki held out his hand - the right one - next to Sero’s.Whereas the snowflakes melted into watery mush in Sero’s palm after a few moments, they held their shape in Todoroki’s, forming a lacy layer of crystals over his slender fingers.
“Do you like snowcones?” Torodoki asked.
Sero shrugged. “Dunno, never had one.”
“Neither have I.”
Present Mic’s voice burst through the loudspeakers. “THERE HAS BEEN A QUIRK MISHAP! SORRY FOR THE UNFORESEEN WEATHER, KIDDOS! PLEASE MAKE YOUR WAY BACK TO YOUR ROOMS WHILE WE FIGURE OUT WHAT’S HAPPENING.”
The few students still standing outside slowly filed indoors.
“Maybe one of the first years?” Sero asked.
“Probably,” Todoroki said. He held up his hand. “They’re the ones most lacking in control...and yet, overflowing with arrogance.”
“Wow, sounds like someone I knew in first year.”
Todoroki nodded sagely. “Bakugou was certainly a handful.”
“I know you know who I was talking about,” Sero said, poking his shoulder.
Todoroki smirked. It was just the slight quirk of his lips, barely visible unless you knew to look for it. Sero knew to look. He’s seen that smile a lot, these days. Which was great, because Todoroki had a wonderful smile, but also not great, because whenever he made Todoroki smile, his heart doki-doki ’d so hard that he was positive Todoroki could hear it.
See, asking Todoroki to tutor him had been a highly calculated move that had not one, but two purposes: first, Sero was, is, and (if we’re being honest) probably always will be a terrible student and if there was any chance of him getting decent grades his last year of high school, he needed a tutor. He could have asked the other top-scoring students, but Momo and Kendo were too busy (he wasn’t the only idiot scrambling for a passing grade), Bakugou was too explodey, Iida was too boring, and Midoriya was too muttery. Todoroki was none of those things and also the hottest of the bunch, which lead to purpose number two: as his tutor, he and Todoroki could spend more time alone together. Why? Because six months had passed since Sero admitted to himself that he was no better than every other girl in school and was totally crushing on the Icy-hot hero Shouto and now he’s tired of pining like some basic bitch.
“Let’s study in my room,” Todoroki said.
Sero had been to Torodoki’s room like, a ton of times, but his heart still skipped a beat every time Todoroki invited him. “Lead the way, sensei,” he said.
“I’m not your sensei.”
“Your teaching prowess says otherwise, sensei.”
“Call me sensei one more time and I’ll have Bakugou quiz you on polar coordinates.”
“Now that’s just cruel,” Sero said. He spun in front of Todoroki. “But I don’t think you have the heart to follow through on that - ” Sero tapped his nose to the beat of his killing blow “ - sen-sei.”
Todoroki stared at him for a moment, pouting, cheeks pink from the cold. Then he pulled out his phone and began texting Bakugou.
“Noooooo shit I’m sorry I’ll stop! It was just a joke!”
This is it, Sero told himself. Snow storm wailing outside, holed up in Todoroki’s room, just the two of us - this is my moment.
Todoroki’s room hadn’t changed much since their first year. Decorative pot of bamboo in the corner (fake), tall, dark wooden drawers, a low desk free of clutter, tatami flooring, somehow. That ugly checkered mat by his desk. But where there once was one chair, now there were two. A pair of crocs (never worn) sat in front of his dresser. And on the dresser, crowding the decorative orb, half a dozen framed pictures: Todoroki, Midoriya, and Bakugou at the end of their internship with Endeavor; their class picture from last year; Natsuo and Fuyumi showering Todoroki in hugs; a selfie Sero took of him and Todoroki on their first day of their summer internship with Edgeshot.
There was also a behemoth purple beanbag sitting by the shoji screen. It looked wildly out of place with the rest of his traditional set-up. Sero dragged it over to Todoroki’s desk and flopped down into it.
Over the next twenty minutes, they reviewed that day’s lessons (apparently it’s like, good practice to review what you’ve learned that same day, which was annoying, but Sero’s grades had been going up, so whatever). Todoroki explained over and over until Sero actually understood how to convert Cartesian coordinates to polar coordinates. Maybe he wouldn’t have had to explain so many times if Sero had listened carefully, but, well, it was hard with Todoroki talking to him in the soothing, patient tone he took on when he was teaching. He just looked so cute with his brow furrowed, thinking up a new way to explain a concept that would penetrate Sero’s thick skull. Sero liked to think he had built up a tolerance to buff, attractive men over his nearly-three years at U.A., but he was still weak to Todoroki’s hands, to the way his tight t-shirt clung to his broad shoulders.
The fact that he was cold as shit wasn't helping him focus either. Faint shadows of falling snow danced along the translucent paper walls of the shoji screen, taunting him.
But hey, at least he vaguely understood the polar coordinate system.
“You know, you’re pretty good at this,” Sero said after he finally solved a difficult math problem all on his own. “I bet the others would die to get their hands on your notes.”
“Guess they’ll die, then.”
Sero snickered. “That’s rough, dude.”
Todoroki shrugged. “I’m not going to put effort into something I don’t like to do when I know they won’t appreciate it.”
Sero freezes. “Wait - you don’t like tutoring?”
“Well - ”
“Oh shit, am I making you do something you hate? Bro, why didn’t you tell me, I wouldn’t have - ”
“It’s different when it’s you,” Todoroki said sharply.
Sometimes, it was hard to tell when Todoroki was joking, or if he was actually serious. The look in those blue-brown eyes, though, showed his resolve loud and clear.
Todoroki immediately averted his eyes. “I like helping you,” he muttered, “so it’s fine.”
“Oh.”
Not for the first time, Sero wondered: why him? Todoroki had many other friends ...maybe friends that were smarter than he was and didn’t need tutoring, granted, but other friends he could be hanging out with. What’s the appeal? Was it his wonderfully terrible sense of humor? Was it the muscles he totally wasn't showing off? Was it because they shared the same taste in manga (oh yeah - he should ask Todoroki if he finished with week’s Shonen Champion)? Was it because he, unlike at least half of their year, was capable of talking at a normal volume? Over his time at U.A., Sero had gained more confidence in himself than he ever thought he would, but when it came to Todoroki, he still felt...small. Unsure if the light that shone from a great hero like Todoroki drowned out his own little spark.
Usually things between them were pretty chill, but after that comment, a weird kind of tension settled over the room. Not bad, just quiet, like when there's a sleeping cat on your laps and you're afraid any movement will wake it.
Pretty soon, though, Sero began to shiver. He couldn’t help it - there was a winter storm outside, apparently, and he was in a tank top and jorts, and seriously, did no one turn the heat on? Did no one turn the heat on and the AC miraculously began working again?
Todoroki was staring at him, too. God, he must have thought Sero was some kind of pansy, getting cold so easily, unable to regulate his own temperature like some people (though he guessed in that case, most people would be pansies to Todoroki).
13) Convert 2x−5x 3 =1+xy into polar coordinates.
Sero tapped his pen against his paper. Todoroki’s gaze followed the movement, then returned to his face. Sero could practically feel his impatience.
Sero put his pen down and stretched his arms over his head. Todoroki looked away. Got’em.
“You know...” Sero said. Todoroki glanced back at him. “...staring at me isn’t going to help me solve this stupid question any faster.”
“I wasn’t staring,” Todoroki said, crossing his arms like a petulant child.
Sero grinned. Anyone who knew him well can tell you that the Cool and Cold hero Shouto was just as petty as any mortal. Probably pettier, in fact. “You totally were.”
Todoroki frowned. “You were shivering.”
“Yeah, wonder why.”
Todoroki’s gaze shifted over to him. He looked Sero up and down. Sero tried and failed not to shiver. Todoroki’s clenched jaw softed and his eyes smiled and he stared - this time, he was definitely staring - Sero felt his face heating up (well, that’s one way to get warm).
Wordlessly, Todoroki got up and sat down next to him on the beanbag. Sero fell against him, shoulder to shoulder, hip to hip, thigh to thigh, the tips of Todoroki’s braid tickling his shoulder.
Sero froze up (pun intended). His heart pounded in his ears. But he knew what Todoroki was doing, so he didn’t feel guilty as he curled into his side, basking in the warmth like a cat in a strip of sunlight. And the warmth from Todoroki’s left side began to melt him down.
He pressed his cheek against Todoroki’s shoulder and said, “I thought you didn’t like people using you as a space heater.”
“Most people.”
Sero smirked. “So you’re saying I’m special?”
Todoroki looked at him and smiled. “Didn’t I say that earlier?”
Ohhhh man oh fuck. How could he just say that, looking at him like that, like he was more than just the plainest guy in class, like he really was special? Sero was known for keeping his cool, for being the chillest dude in the group, but with someone as special as Todoroki looking at him like he’s special…fuck.
“I mean, well, like that was just about tutoring and not, you know - ” nearly sitting in my fucking lap, “ - sharing personal space.”
“You looked cold,” Todoroki said. He could feel Todoroki’s breath on his cheek. “I didn’t want you to be distracted.”
“I’m a lot more distracted now.”
A part of him cringed as the words left his mouth. Oh god, why did I say that, was that even sexy? But another part of him pushed that part down and shushed it. This is the opening we’ve been waiting for, it said. Even if Todoroki turned him down, at least he could graduate without any regrets. Maybe he could even tell his grandkids that he once received a personal rejection from the great hero Shouto.
“Oh.” Todoroki said, shoulder tensing where Sero leaned against him. Sero braced himself mentally, the same way he did before he launched himself off a building, preparing for the inevitable gut-plunge as he swooped toward the ground. “...me too.”
And there’s the thrill of the upward swing.
Sero was an idiot, but he wasn’t stupid. He wouldn’t have shot his shot if he’d thought he had no chance. Still, hearing Todoroki say he feels it too took him by surprise in the best way possible. Like tasting the sweet tang of umiboshi in the center of a plain-looking onigiri. Like acing a test you thought you failed. Like snow in June.
The air between them was electric but still. Did that count as admitting their feelings? What should he say now? Where were they supposed to go from here? All Sero wanted to do his grab Todoroki’s hand and hold his stupid pretty face in his hands and kiss him silly, but they should probably like, talk about things -
“Hanta.”
“Yeah?”
“Can I kiss you?”
“Oh thank fuck - yes please.”
And then he was kissing Todoroki Shouto, son of number one hero Endeavor, one of the Big Three most promising students at the most prestigious hero school in the country. His lips were soft but clumsy, shy but adamant as he pressed against him. Sero cupped his face and felt the slight inhale of Shouto’s gasp. Despite being pinned down by the weight of Shouto’s chest on his and trapped between the strong forearms framing his face, the light that perpetually emanated from the great hero Shouto wasn’t overwhelming. Sero was warmed by his light instead of cowed by it. In that moment, Shouto’s light drew out the best in him - and his little spark ignited.
Yet, that question that always nagged him surfaced again: Why me?
As Shouto’s kisses began to trail down his neck, Sero figured he could ask why later - when Shouto wasn’t busy showing him it’s you, it’s you.
Even with the frozen tundra battering just outside, Sero was burning up again.
Sooooo here is the first chapter of hetalia highschool, or the thingy with tino and berwald.
Chapter 1~
The morning bell rang throughout the highschool, if you weren't there before that bell you might as well cancel all your plans for that afternoon because detention was already at your doorstep.
But today seemed different than all the others. Students all around seemed to be bouncing with joy, buzzing through the halls and whispering to friends. In a way it was quiet. Berwald wasn't a big fan of quiet. Quiet ment something was happening, something big, and big wasn't always the best, especially in highschool. Big in highschool ment some popular couple broke up under the bleachers, or a food fight broke out, a fight in the halls got popular on youtube or sometimes just celebrity drama that he didn't understand.
Berwald wanted to go through the halls without being noticed by anyone but that was sometimes hard to achieve since firstly, he was like 6'4" he couldn't just squirm around people like a 5 year old in a panic and secondly, his brother and cousin were both some of the most popular kids in the whole school. He wouldn't even get past Mrs. Jenns class without hearing "HEY BABY BRO!" And even if he wanted to ignore it his brother would start screaming and babbling on. But once again today was different. His brother only gave a simple wave and turned back to talking with his friends.
"Geez it might as well be the plague" Berwald said to himself in his head.
After setting up all his books in his desk perfectly he looked around at the classroom. It was only him the teacher and one of the quiet kids named Kiku. Then he noticed an extra desk on the other side of the room. Soon two teachers began ushering kids into the class and everyone sat down with big grins on their stupid faces.
"Well Eliza my dearest bestie, is he cute?"
"Or hot!?"
"Ew Sey, he's my cousin! But I must admit he gives off nice neighborhood kid vibes, haven't seen him in a while,"
Who?
The class quieted down and the principal walked in with a small boy trailing behind him. Berwald didn't even care to look up from the book he begun to read. Just another kid he thought.
"good morning students, as you know we have a new student joining our school. Please treat him with the same respect you show your other peers he is no different from the rest of you. Now would you like to introduce yourself?"
The boy shook his head. He was smiling a big happy grin. The boy waved and took a deep breath.
"hi, I'm tino," He said very softly and quietly. He was like a mouse, he practically squeaked!
"Now as we went over ways of communication, he will always have a journal by his desk. You can start a conversation with him at any appropriate times in the day. This will follow into your other classes. And as you also know we begin our ASL classes today."
Berwald's head perked up.
"Any questions?"
Many hands raised in the air.
"Not for him, for me. Do you need help with the schedule?"
"Ah, Ms. Brown, will we be able to talk to him later?" Ludwig one of the teachers pets asked.
"Yes, I said at appropriate times,"
"what type of times would those be?"
" Any breaks we have in the day, now Tino would you like to go to your new desk? I made sure it was by your cousins,"
He shook his head and walked over still fiddling with his shirt. He had a awkward smile and begun walking through the row to his desk.
Everyone was staring at him, they all seemed to be so interested in him. But Berwald was the most in the whole class.
"well this is gonna be interesting" he said in his head.
The 3K event
Okay so here I am making a massive 3K analysis again. I wanted to do one of Gray Fullbuster because he's a character I relate to the most and he's definitely one of the more complex characters. The rest is under the cut, be warned its long & you might not agree with some things but its a fact of life to not agree with everything.
To make it easier on my poor hands I am going to divide this up by arc! I will list the arc at the top starting from the beginning of the story. It will be two paragraphs of his behavior for each arc!
Maco Arc:
Gray here first appears nude, fighting and asking Lucy for her underwear because he lost his. That is mostly the extent of his appearance during that arc. Analyzing that small moment we can conclude: He has a nude problem, He has a temper, Him and Natsu don’t get along very well. We can also conclude or make an educated guess based on the fact that he is nude and asks Lucy for her underwear: He is a pervert or has those types of intentions.
We also have only just met him during that arc. So there isn’t going to be a lot of information about him at first. Looking at his behavior, he is certainly interesting and seems to almost be brash. There is something about him that does say he has a brain under his head of emo hair.
Daybreak arc:
This arc focuses on Natsu and Lucy and Happy.
Lullaby arc:
This is where we learn alot about Gray. His interaction with Natsu before Erza shows up says that they are in some type of friendship. It is clear that they can stop fighting one another but it appears they just want to fight one another. We definitely learn Gray is a humorous character based off of his reactions throughout the arc. His behavior suggests he is scared of Erza and gets along with Natsu when he needs to. Gray also seems to be more on the calm side of things unless he gets mad. Gray doesn't show that much emotion within his face when calm.
Gray seems to show his feelings and thoughts through actions. He also has some weird behavior and even strips off his clothing. He is a quick thinker when it counts and during the train station section of the arc, we see that he is strong in his own right. That idea is reinforced by the speed and strength of his ice magic during the battle with Lullaby. Based on all of this we can conclude that Gray is on Natsu’s level of power, He is strong and emotional in a way most people aren't. He has a stripping habit based on how when serious and on the magic car he stripped off his top.
Galuna Island Arc:
Here we learn so much about Gray. The paragraphs will be larger so please be prepared to read that.
Gray is clearly traumatized and doesn’t react normally because of it, Before Erza arrives to take them back to the Guild he is calm and collected. This suggests that it is a facade or only one part of him. Gray also has a tendency to ignore the pain he is in or twist it around. Gray is shown to have been the sole survivor of his village and having lost his parents to Delliora, a demon from the books of Zeref. This makes his actions against Lullaby who is also a demon from the books of Zeref seen in an entirely different light than before. Gray is faced with his adoptive brother who is destroying the ice that is his mentor or mother figure to get to Delliora. Gray clearly believes what happened that day was his fault.
Gray also irrationally thinks that Delliora who has been sealed away under lost magic is alive. This is shown when he tries to commit suicide to end Delliora. Surprisingly enough it is Natsu Dragneel or his rival that saves him and fights against Delliora. This moment is such a huge action. Here is really where they become even closer on Gray’s end of things. For him Natsu just destroyed the monster that took everything from him, the very thing he likely had nightmares about for years. The same event he cant process correctly because he is so emotionally vulnerable and traumatized is ended by his rival. Gray was actually set free at that moment. Afterwards there is an air of Gray that he didn’t have before. He seems almost relaxed but not sure what to do about it. Gray cannot believe he's finally free and he is also still processing that Natsu Dragneel was the one who put himself between Gray and the nightmare of his entire life.
To Gray his whole life just changed. Not only was his master set free finally but his friend saved him from self destruction. Looking at that attempted suicide it puts Gray and his character in a new light. It is clear he loves Fairy Tail and would do anything for his guild. It is purely the most drastic change in a character because he had everyone fooled. This is the first analysis of him:
Analyzing that small moment we can conclude: He has a nude problem, He has a temper, Him and Natsu don’t get along very well. We can also conclude or make an educated guess based on the fact that he is nude and asks Lucy for her underwear: He is a pervert or has those types of intentions.
Gray wore a mask and he had everyone fooled. Even the viewer/reader.
Phantom Lord Arc:
Here Gray is lighter. His character seems at peace until he sees the ruined guild hall. Almost all of his hurt and agony is thrown out the window in favor of his family. During the moments leading up to the fight Gray is stressed and angry. Like the rest of Fairy Tail he is mad. During the battles Gray doesn't hesitate. However the most outstanding moment that showed his actual character was when he stopped Juvia from dying. When he accidentally grabbed her chest during an attack and immediately backed off. Not getting into Juvia's character at all here however her reactions to those events influenced Gray’s own reaction. He wasn’t rude and didn’t attack her after the fight. He let her lay there and even smiled at her because Gray despite the mask he wore has the biggest heart in Fairy Tail.
Loke Arc:
This arc shows us a relaxed and genuinely worried Gray. He knows something is wrong with Loke during this arc, and like a friend is concerned about him. The two are painted to be friends and they both clearly have a history together based on the way Gray is worried. Gray isn’t exactly appearing in this arc a lot so sadly that's it.
Tower Of Heaven:
This mostly focuses on Erza but it does showcase that Gray despite being scared of her genuinely cares about her. It also shows again that Gray is awkward and doesn't exactly know what to do when his friends are upset. He cares about them but he hasn't figured out how to approach it or handle it,
Battle of Fairy Tail:
There isn't really anything that can be said about this that I haven't already said.
Oracion Seis arc:
Gray instantly is concerned about Wendy and wants to help her. He also automatically considers her a friend. Gray when fighting against them is clearly upset about them trying to destroy Wendy’s guild. He is mad and saddened like he is when Fairy Tail is facing a conflict. Once again showing Gray is more emotional than people give him credit for. He also backs and approves of Erza’s decision to allow Wendy to join Fairy Tail. It is clear Gray wasn’t about to let her wonder off without knowing if she would be okay first.
Daphne Arc:
I have said it before and I will say it again, there is no way Gray “ I care about my family “ Fullbuster would ever do anything like he supposedly did in that horribly written episode. I can admit that some points of Fairy Tails plot is stupid and or badly written but I don’t understand how it managed to embody a cringey fan fic from the early 200s that is in first person pov and has only 700 words and multiple chapters with no spaces.
Edolas Arc:
Gray is again upset about mistreatment and that his guild is being harmed. He also is once again showing his thinking side when he goes along with the plan Natsu, Erza and Him come up with to save their friends. He is worried about his guild mates fighting the King, but of course is relieved when they all come back alive and just a little banged up.
Tenrou Island Arc & X791 Arc:
Gray is deathly protective of his guild and it didn’t go over well when Ultear hurt Juvia. Now during this Arc Gray is targeted by Ultear because she believes he killed her mother and took her away from her. She intends on murdering Gray for it. He however is emotional about it because Ultear is UI’s bloodline. Both Gray and UI had no clue that she is alive and they certainly if aware of it would have torn that organization to shreds to reach her. Gray when faced with a monster coming to destroy them is more concerned about his family than the impending doom. He does like the rest of the guild stares death right in the eye without a hint of fear.
As any Fairy Tail member knows they are all together and they are never once going to go through something alone here. In the end when woken up by members of his guild he is happy to still be able to interact with his friends and family.
Key Of The Starry Sky Arc:
This arc mostly focuses on Lucy and the relationships of her family. There are however moments where other members of Fairy Tail have their own relationships with her explored. With Gray he is worried about her and doesn't want to lose his teammate and friend. Their relationship however is shown slightly from Gray's actions when fighting and doing his best to prevent her death. He doesn’t exactly have a relationship with her outside of friendship however that doesn't mean Gray can’t view her as an important part of his life like he does with the rest of his guild.
Grand Magic Games:
Gray's love for fighting is definitely shown here. He is also downright cheerful during the games at points. But he still is angry when his guild is targeted and when his guild mates are hurt. Gray does seem to have his head on straight during his fights, even cheering for his brother and telling him to essentially stop being stupid. Gray does get concerned about Gajeel and the Dragon corpses purely because he cares about his friends and also because he doesn't know if he feels so happy knowing dragons got pitted against one another here. He has been accused of murdering Frosch by Future Rogue who comes back through the gate. However it is believed he is lying because when Gray meets Frosch he thinks the excess is adorable and instantly wants to befriend them.
However an extreme point to know is that Gray dies for a period of time. Shoving Juvia and Meredy out of the way of a magic attack he got hit multiple times. The final shot was right through his head. Gray was however saved by Ultear who sacrificed her own life to turn back time. He has expressed no memory of this happening but says he has a blank spot in his memories he isn't sure about.
Eclipse celestial spirit arc:
Here Gray goes to fight Cancer and return him back to normal for Lucy. We also learn that Gray can’t dance well but since he was put on the spot he threw a routine together for his friends sake. He is also relieved when his friend Like or Leo is returned back to normal.
Sun village arc:
Gray is faced with the obseratady of being turned back into a child. It is also revealed that Gray can make ice disappear. He cant make the Ice that is covering the village go away without some effort. After they get the flame back to its strength he is shown confused about the ice around them. He can also safely cool others down with his magic. It really shows how much he has improved.
Tartaros arc:
Gray finds his dead father. Even though he receives a gift from his father it clearly doesn't change the pain he is in because of the loss. He is really shutting down at the fact that he lost his father twice. Gray however handles his grief differently than another character. He knew from the moment he saw his dad that he was dead. Gray looked at him and saw that without a problem. The problem here is that Grays has a knack for looking at things as his fault. He views this event has something he caused. No other character twists their pain and grief so badly. Gray knew his father was dead from the beginning. He already lost him, it's not that the second time didn't hurt just as badly it's that Gray could have prevented this. In his head he could have had his father back in his life. To Gray he failed and wasn't strong enough to save his father.
Avatar arc:
Gray is lost here. His guild, his constant in his life is gone. He has lost that contact with them. Gray clings to the part of his family that is with him. Erza scarlet. Now during the arc he had to renounce Fairy Tail and play a dark persona that isn't him for almost a year. For almost an entire year Gray was a monster he created. A monster he created for Erza, for this mission he threw himself into. He went through a massive transformation and Gray while parts of himself are still there has changed. His world view has been altered and Gray now knows that not even Fairy Tail is going to be his constant. I have written about this on my Ao3 Littledanceingdragons it is under the title: Undercover. I am not going to link it here check the notes since Tumblr shadowbans any post with links.
When Fairy Tail is brought back Gray is back to his normal self and even looks relieved because his family came back for him.
Alvarez empire arc:
This arc caused Gray so much pain. I am not going to cover the Juvia & Gray scene fully, mostly because that scene was so horribly written for a core plot moment it felt so forced and out of character.
That being said I am going to talk about how Gray would rather die than hurt a guildmate. Now this is purely because I think Gray has been pushed to his limit. He lost his father, fought demons, lost his family, transformed into a dark persona for a mission. At this point Gray at his lowest develops irrational thinking and suicidal thoughts and actions. It is crucial to remember the past for this so here are they key points of multiple paragraphs:
Gray also has a tendency to ignore the pain he is in or twist it around. Gray is shown to have been the sole survivor of his village and having lost his parents to Delliora, a demon from the books of Zeref. This makes his actions against Lullaby who is also a demon from the books of Zeref seen in an entirely different light than before. Gray is faced with his adoptive brother who is destroying the ice that is his mentor or mother figure to get to Delliora. Gray clearly believes what happened that day was his fault.
However an extreme point to know is that Gray dies for a period of time. Shoving Juvia and Meredy out of the way of a magic attack he got hit multiple times. The final shot was right through his head. Gray was however saved by Ultear who sacrificed her own life to turn back time.
He however is emotional about it because Ultear is UI’s bloodline.
He is mad and saddened like he is when Fairy Tail is facing a conflict. Once again showing Gray is more emotional than people give him credit for.
Gray here at that point has lost it. Thinking back on those episodes it makes sense for Gray to snap at some point. He has merely done it now, when in a war, after believing one of his guildmates died. Logically that makes sense and it is understandable. Getting to Natsu vs Gray fight. Ignoring that it doesn't make sense for the cause for Gray or the cause Canon says is what happened. The fight between them was more than out of character. Mainly for a point that Natsu has addressed before the war:
Fighting when your friends are on the line isn't fun.
Yes, they fight one another constantly. However it is really more accurate to say: Spar. It is described as this:
If you spar with someone, you exchange light blows — either literally by punching each other, or figuratively by exchanging verbal blows. If you box, you might spar with an opponent at the gym while you're training. You don't strike too hard — it's just practice.
Or in other words, it's not serious. Gray and Natsu aren't trying to kill each other. The only reason it is mentioned is because Gray is clearly in a bad place there. He is having a breakdown. I also direct your attention to the fact that Gray tried to kill himself because he felt like shit over it.
You all know the scene.
Leech Lord : Exes and enemies
Troy
Troy has fallen in love more times than he will ever admit, but none of them proceeded into anything even close to a relationship. None of them hate him, they tell incredibly embarrassing stories about how awkward he was maybe.. but they aren't enemies. Just people he'd rather forget and pretends he has.
Troy's real problems are the people who covet him.
He's made the mistake of very often choosing people to fuck that see that kind of choice - being singled out by their own God - as more of a statement about them than it actually is. To arrogant followers, God King Calypso turning a hungry eye to the curves of your body or sweat beading across your pecs means you're special now. You're better than others... That he cares about you specifically...
He doesn't, he'd be hard-pressed to even remember their names, but it's left him with a notable group of people who not only believe they are far more valuable than they actually are, but can also be viciously aggressive towards others they feel jealousy over him for.
Anyone with common sense could have told him this was a mistake, that he should be choosing outside the fanatics, he should be welcoming people who don't think he's a God into his bed chambers, but he wouldn't listen anyway. Them believing he is Holy is one of the reasons he chooses them in the first place.
The worst are the ones he's made this mistake with more than once. Akash, Bishop Sero, and other high ranking priests who left their old names behind and covered their dusty - blood soaked pasts with heavy robes and delusions of grandeur when they joined the clergy.
They COVET Father Troy, they've convinced each other they are his holy flock, his gilded chosen.. and they are viciously protective of this role they fabricated for themselves.
He can't even really describe their faces if you asked, but he remembers the taste of their skin, and he can recite the praise they dripped from hungry mouths like memorised gospel.
They were very, very stupid mistakes, and it takes him far too long to realise he's made them.
Seifa
Sei's been extremely careful with relationships in general and has so rarely entered into one in the first place, that she doesn't have any exes who'd shed consider as hating her. Not on good terms? Sure. She left them, after all. It was always her who wasn't happy. But hate? Nah. They could converse if needed. If she knew any of them were in trouble and helping out wasn't going to cost her neck? Well. Shhh.
What she does have however, is a trail of people she played far too heavy handed, and one in particular cost her a broken wrist, a split lip, and someone she will avoid for the rest of her life.
Sei, especially before the twins, used flirtation and manipulation often. It was a simple go too for getting what she wanted out of a deal, flattery played right towards someone who wants to fuck you gets you very far in being underestimated. Buttering up a group of competitors then somehow ending up embroiling them in a bar fight while you sit innocently with a cocktail is a valid business strategy... but she got lucky for far too long when it came to choosing marks, till she wasn't.
Archivald had decided she was his before she'd even hit full throttle with the giggling and fawning, and she'd noticed far too late how invested in that decision he'd become, and how quickly. It had started great, free drinks all night, the ear of the number 1 warp core importer planet-side, and his huge arm around her shoulders for half the night, no one else holding his interest for long enough to even bring up their bids.
It had ended terribly, she'd not stopped him from drinking when she should have, hadn't kept control of the act enough to give herself an out, hadn't noticed the jealousy in his glare when she'd started working the long legged blonde with the incredible range of welding-alloy stock later, and she'd paid the price.
He'd only landed one hit after the grab, but the force of his fist had cracked the wrist he seized her by, and the slap that came after split her lip badly enough to knock her out.
He was removed forcefully from the club before she came to, but the damage was done and she launched off station shortly after with a bruised ego and face.
She's toned it down since, sultry rather than vapid when she plays them now. Makes sure they don't forget who's really in control. -
He's not forgotten, she hears about it on the tradelines still, years later. The things he calls her, the contacts he's turned against her. Not that it matters NOW....
... Wrist still hurts sometimes though.
Tyreen
Having had no relationships in the past and no physical contact with followers, she's avoided the "insane fan / horrifying ex" situation, but is plennnnty hated on a personal level by more than enough people.
Tyreen has absolutely none of her Twin's gift with words when it comes to razor wit. Troy can cut people to the bone without stepping a foot out of line in professional situations, leave them sweating and powerless with just a couple of choice words and a pout of his lips, but Tyreen... she just straight up insults them.
She has no decorum. If she's annoyed with some arrogant suit eying her like something they'd scrape off their boot while still trying to manipulate what they want out of the COV in a meeting? She just tells them what she thinks.
Troy finds this fucking hilarious and is usually standing next to her, arms clasped behind his back as he stares watery eyed at the floor while biting the inside of his cheeks. But the investors? The wanna be sponsors? The people she's aiming her heavy handed spite at? They don't.
There's a reason by mid COV she hands over almost every deal and direct management case with a weapons manufacturer or multi billion dollar trade negotiation to Troy, the majority of upper management in organisations remotely on par with the cult refuse to be in the same room as her, and she's woefully ignorant at how much she's mocked behind closed doors.
Asks are Open!
Burning Up, Burnt Out
This is my work for the Nalu and Gruvia big bang @nalugruviaevents! I worked alongside @yaushie, who made the beautiful art to go with the fan fiction I wrote. Thanks to @celestial-fire-writer for being beta once again. Summary: Set in the year after Alvarez and before Lucy's book signing. The team is on a mission to help a native village on a island, but the celebrations afterwards leave Natsu to do some deep thinking about a certain celestial wizard that won’t seem to leave his mind.
ART BY @yaushie
The fire roared as cinders rose up in the night much like fireflies, stars gleamed in the night sky and the air tasted of smoked meat as the villagers threw their offerings into the large pit of wicked flames. The people cried out as they rejoiced, clapping their hands to the beats played by the drums. The women with sultry eyes moved around the flames like conspiring Wiccans, rising the spirits from the curling fire as they swayed their bodies in erotic and enticing ways. They stretched their arms high and grinded their hips, flicking their legs high in the air as they jumped to then push down and again use their footwork to circle around the fire.
The men sitting at the edge of the cluster of celebration hollered at the women as their skirts sashayed with their sensuous movements. Their tight bandeau leaving the skin of their midriffs exposed and subject to their hungry gazes of wonder and amazement. Many of them would stray just enough from their tight knit group of dancers to caress the cheek of a surrounding watcher, enticing and drawing them in with their deep gazes until they would lean forward in their daze. Then the women would skip back to join the large burning fire - leaving the crowd breathless and entranced. It was a game of cat and mouse and they were teasing minxes.
Natsu, like many others of the audience, watched on. His dark eyes were drawn into the soft exposed skin covered in a soft sheen of sweat, the strong and long legs that kicked up and the way their breasts were barely concealed in an orange fabric that was lined with gold trim. However, it wasn’t all the dancers that grabbed hold of his gaze. It was the billowing blonde hair that caught his breath, the deep brown eyes that occasionally glanced his way. Lucy, who was twisting and turning amongst the other women, had called him in. Her body stirred something in the pit of his stomach as she seemed to move with the fire, embodying the way the flames flickered and curled behind her.
He was completely enraptured. The thrum of the drums and strum of strings reverberating through his body, cutting off the noise of villagers who joined in the festival. Natsu couldn’t tear his gaze from her being, and he knew she had noticed his unwavering stare on her. Lucy grinded her hips more to the music, arched her back just a little bit further to uncover the view of the delicious skin of her neck, but it was her eyes - the way she peered up at him through thick lashes with flushed cheeks - that made him swallow hard and realise that he had been caught.
She knew he was captivated. Her eyes twinkled with mischief as she spun on her feet in rhythm, the deep brown hue making him their victim once again as he was locked in her gaze. He couldn’t count on both his hands and feet how many times her eyes had persuaded him and made his knees weak, lungs breathless - the way they shone when she smiled, crinkling slightly at the side, and sparkling like the stars she beckoned to her side in battle. It was especially painful when they would break in front of him, becoming watery and fragile. Those were times Natsu was lost, when he felt smaller and more vulnerable than when Igneel had disappeared. He couldn’t fight away her sadness. It made him… confused. His heart would feel like stone in his chest as if it had stopped beating and would tumble from its bone cage, a feeling in his throat that threatened to choke him.
She grinned at him. The smile was large as it accompanied her bright eyes, glinting gold from the fire. It pulled Natsu from the thoughts he always found himself puzzled when he looked at the celestial wizard for too long. Her hands clapped above her head before she skipped and flew through the air, her feet coming down to land gracefully before she dipped her body low.
The long blonde locks that had been tied loosely into twin ponytails danced behind her. They shined, illuminated by the flames as they whipped in the fresh night air. The glow reminded him of a far off time, a November sunset - her smile just as wide that day when they had come back from rescuing Macao at Mount Hakobe.
The sun was shining its last rays before it would sink below the horizon. Their shoes scuffing along the cobblestone street as they left the grinning father and son after they successfully brought Macao home to Romeo. The young boy’s shout of thanks echoed in their ears and a small smile still played on the blonde’s lips as they walked beside each other in a comfortable silence. Natsu peered at her from the side. She was strange - that, he was sure of. The newly joined member throwing herself into his business and then complaining every step of the way. Natsu didn’t like people like that. She acted like every other sucker who thought being a mage was a walk in the park and some sort of title that could be thrown around. However, her blind bravery to face the Vulcan alone surprised him; as did her tending to Macao’s wounds and the way she smiled. Natsu had faulted when she had looked back at the snot-nosed kid. He had nearly fallen flat on his face, but he only shook his head slightly, eyes leaving the weirdo to focus back on the path. He hoped Mirajane had something special to eat when he got back.
Natsu tore his gaze from Lucy. The feast before him had been half picked at, which had been extremely unlike him, yet he couldn’t bring himself to pick up another mouthful. Gray was still being patched up by the giggling old crones of the village, much to his dismay, and Erza was at the Chief’s table. He noticed Wendy had been dressed in the same outfit that Lucy was wearing, but she stayed far from the show that transpired in the middle of the village. His dark eyes flicked back up to the blonde as his thoughts drifted back to her. That had been happening a lot lately.
A sigh left his lips, the sound giving life to the muddled thoughts that plagued his mind. The mission had meant to be something for them all to unwind and to let them come back down to reality - to make the war a distant memory. However, the fire dragon slayer had only become more tense. His fists clenched at his side and his chest puffed out as he gritted his teeth. It was his instincts gearing him up for a fight. Yet, he couldn’t beat this down. What was he meant to do?
He gulped as the vulnerable feeling clogged his throat. He had learned, he had grown stronger. Fear didn’t stop him anymore. It was welcomed and used strategically against his opponent. Enemies that seemed impossible were always overcome. Natsu was ready to defeat anything in his way to protect his friends - to make sure their smiles kept true.
Lucy remained a puzzle.
He couldn’t get past it. Her eyes led to his lungs dysfunctioning. Her smiles made his palms sweaty with a heart that just wouldn’t stop pounding. The way she smelled, sweet and like the books she spent so much time with; it pulled him to her.
It made Natsu want to tug at his hair. When he had set out alone he spent most of his nights frustrated as he looked up to the stars, his thoughts drifting to the blonde that he left behind. She always said that they guided her, but Natsu only saw the vast midnight sky. The glinting lights seemed to taunt him rather than to offer solace for his troubles.
The celestial wizard wasn’t in danger and he certainly didn’t consider her to be an enemy. She was much more to him. Lucy was Lucy. Yet, she plagued his mind. It felt like he was missing something. The feeling built in his stomach, a nervousness he didn’t quite understand, and it was wrong. How was he meant to protect her from that? Something that was unknown to him?
Natsu felt the drums pick up speed, the vibrations humming in his veins, as the dance was coming to a close. Lucy clapped her hands as she moved her hips along with the other villagers - the movements absolutely tantalising. And Natsu watched her. His eyes filling with longing as they glazed over. She seemed like a friend to the fire as it bathed her in its light - the flames nearly consuming her as she pushed and pulled her body alongside it.
He could always ignore it. Feign ignorance so he could be welcomed into the bliss that he had lived in before he met her. Things would go back to normal. The simple life. It would be as easy as felling the tree that had begun to bind itself in his ribcage - the centre suffocating his heart. The branches would shrivel and slowly fall, the roots no longer embedding themselves in his bones and he would be free.
A thought he had believed foolishly. Even in the beginning he had tried to ignore her. She was a friend… and that was all. He’d asked her to be his partner because her heart was true. There was nothing else. However. it was the small spark, the tiny little wonder that ebbed at his mind that he should have listened to. Even when he thought he had overcome it, she always made sure to relight it. Always putting herself in harm's way for him, and yet he was meant to be the idiot. Natsu always thought the blonde did stupid things; like when she tried to stop the raft when they were battling the Oracion Seis. The girl had no clue what she was doing, yet she held onto him even as they plummeted down a waterfall.
He could still remember the sick feeling that swam in his stomach as he was swept up in the white rapids - Lucy by his side, her arms wrapped tight around him. No one had ever really cared about his motion sickness. It was always something considered a joke in the guild, a running gag people used to get under his skin. At other times it was an annoyance. If it had been anyone else they would have let the river take him. It was his own fault his stomach couldn’t beat the nauseating waves that rocked his mind. But, she was different. Natsu had never had someone care like she did. Running after him in his weakest moments no matter how pathetic they seemed. He would often think about when they fell from the waterfall. The sound of crashing water filling his ears, blocking out every other noise except his pounding heartbeat until they hit the river below. She’d made him fault again. His mind short circuiting when he looked at her until he could push out an earnest thank you.
The fire called to him as it burned, the flames being his own as he started off the celebration in the village with a mighty fire dragon roar. If all the way back then he had acknowledged the growth then maybe it wouldn’t be a mass of vines and prickly branches that threatened to suffocate him nearly every moment. Instead it had to be crushed into him, literally. Being stuck underneath boulders and watching as she refused to run. The same determination would always flicker in her eyes when he saw her in a fight, always reminding him of the time he could’ve lost her.
“Run for it, Lucy! He’s way stronger than he looks!! I’ll figure something out. Just get out of here!” He shouted, his fingers digging into the dirt as he desperately tried to claw his way out. If she had no magic power then-
“I won’t.”
Natsu stilled as her voice cut through the air, his throat going dry as Kain’s foot came down on her body a moment later, crushing her into the ground. He could barely breathe as she screamed out in agony. He could only watch as she was beaten down. Why wouldn’t she run?
Kain kicked her forward, the blonde gasping for breath as he walked over to her limp and bruised body before gripping onto her hair, the tresses spilling through his fingers as he lifted her up to her knees.
“I don’t want… to run away by myself…” she choked as she began to force a smile through the pain, blood dripping down her chin. Those brown eyes shining before they closed, her smile picking up into a grin. “Because…”
Natsu could only remained frozen in place as Kain pulled her higher into the air, his mind screaming at him to do something, anything, but his body wouldn’t listen. It couldn’t. Even with the weight of the rocks crushing him, her words had left him stiff with shock. He couldn’t tear his eyes away from her as her grin stretched wider and wider, a small blush rising on her cheeks.
“It’s always more fun when we’re together!”
Those words echoed in his heart for a long time after she had said them. It was as if his mind put them on repeat, always bringing him back to that moment at some of the strangest of times. He supposed that was when he really did begin to notice that there was something more with his partner. That moment shattered a wall he didn’t know he had built. He treated everyone at Fairy Tail like family, the people who made the guild a home, and Lucy was the same.
Except…. Lucy herself had become a home. He always found himself coming back to her at the end of a long day. She was comforting, she was strong and she was kind. His partner always managed to find the good in everything. Lucy had become a safe place and he just couldn’t stop himself from always being by her side, or noticing just how small her hands were. Or that little buzz of warmth that would linger when their skin would brush against one another, which seemed to be more often than not.
Natsu sighed as he finally leaned back, he seemed to be the only person not in the spirit of the festivities. He just couldn’t seem to enjoy the celebration even as more people began to join in with the women in the center. Even Wendy was coaxed into joining, Lucy grabbing her hands and pulling her into the group. Their smiles growing brighter as she twirled the younger girl. Everyone was cheering, the beat beginning to shake the table as it grew louder and louder.
After that day he could never stray from her side for too long. Coming back from Tenrou after seven years, he would try and protect her, be someone to rely on like he did with her. Except they were thrown into the Grand Magic Games only a few weeks later where he had to watch her fight and he couldn’t step in. Seeing Minerva torture her as she was defenceless. His hands bled as he had to sit back, nails digging into his palms as he shook with anger.
But, even when he was standing right next to her in front of future Rogue… He had come close to losing her so many times, even when he vowed to be there, just like with all his family. He could never save Lucy. That time would always haunt him. Watching as she fell to the ground, the hand where she had her guild mark... He couldn’t protect her! In two different strands of time he was useless. Lucy’s future was destroyed. She couldn’t be happy.
The tips of his fingers just barely grazed the darkness that took her away. Natsu could barely move as he watched her fall. He was too late. Even if it wasn’t Lucy from his age, from his time. He could’ve saved her. He could’ve fixed everything. It was all too real. If his Lucy wasn’t kneeling beside her he would’ve thought she was actually gone, that the only way he could’ve saved her had slipped right past him.
He knew he had to become stronger. She had dug herself too far into his heart. He would be enough to protect her future. That burned into his resolution when Lucy thanked him, the warmth of her hug still burning where her arms wrapped around him. It was then that he knew she’d always be by his side… because he had a future to protect. He had her future to keep fighting for.
Natsu loved her.
When her body laid limp in his arms, Natsu felt nothing but pain until a snap pulled him into a rage. She was stuck in Dimaria’s suspended time. He knew it now, but seeing her like that - he couldn’t even hear a heartbeat. It was all too much. The future he had promised to fight for, to live for and protect was now lifeless in his arms. That thought alone sent a blinding shock through his system, the feeling taking over his senses as he lost control. It was pathetic, but Natsu let himself to succumb to it. He would have fought the demon that was taking over, the END seed that was planted within him slowly sprouting as it filled him with poison, the whispers sometimes still echoing in his mind. He could only be thankful that Gray, and then Erza, had stepped in his way. They stalled his maniacal mission just long enough for him to collapse into her arms. He was home again and the anger washed away.
No matter what they went through they would always be together. Side by side. It didn’t matter whether they were battling some petty dark guild or stopping the end of the world. Today and everyday would always be an adventure. He knew it when he was falling out of the sky. His body battered from fighting with Acnologia, but a giant grin on his face as he knew who gave him the strength so he could do it.
He could barely contain the grin that pulled on his lips as he bared his teeth. Her eyes were blown wide as she stared at him in shock, Happy was in her arms beaming at him. When she smiled back up at him, tears filling her eyes, he knew that he was home. Lucy was home. The three of them would always be a family. A team.
“I’m home!” He chuckled, his smile beaming even wider.
She opened her mouth, a stray tear dribbling down her cheek as she managed to find her voice. Knowing they had finally won. That they had saved the world. She knew that if anyone could do it, it would be Natsu.
“Welcome home!” She cried and he felt the warmth spread through his chest.
In that moment Natsu knew that he could accomplish anything because he always had someone to return to - his guild, his best friend and a particular blonde that managed to start a fire in his heart.
His eyes were glued to Lucy as the dance came to an end. She kicked her leg into the air, following the rest of the group as they finished the song. The drums were intense as she twisted and moved around the fire, a sheen of sweat making her body shine in the fire light. With every spin and dip the flames seemed to copy her. His flames. Natsu couldn’t stop himself from staring. She had never looked more ethereal than in this moment. Her hair spun like gold thread as she turned with the fire behind her. Her hips drawing him in and alighting the embers in his chest, burning him up from the inside. The way she seemed to almost glow had him captivated - it was as if she was a goddess teasing him. Her long legs making his blood pump as they pulled down before leaping into the air. He had been in love with her since long ago.
The last hit on the drum resounded out in the village as all the dancers raised their hands, their chests rising and falling as their lungs struggled to heave in a breath from the movements of the dance. Her eyes burned into his as she grinned before being engulfed with the crowd. The people’s joyous cries replacing the beat that once hummed throughout the village.
She had been swept away from him as he sat in front of his meal. Natsu clenched his fist, offering his gaze back up to the heavens that could only mock him. The twinkling lights glinting down at him like all those nights before. Natsu cursed as he stood from his spot, glancing back at the blonde to find her and Wendy raised up by the village, the younger girl looking more sick than anything whilst Lucy laughed.
He smiled softly before he walked away. He had spent too much time caught up with the celestial spirit mage. Though he knew that he couldn’t help the pull that she had over him. It was as if Lucy was fire itself - a fire he couldn’t control. Ironic, considering the fact that fire was his to wield and command.
A sigh left his lips as his feet kept him walking to the edge of the village, where he could get away from the noise and away from her. He hoped it would ease the unwanted feelings. Yet, it never did. Natsu knew it, but he still walked - his eyes coming back to the stars as he breathed in the crisp air. When he exhaled the puff of air, it came out as smoke.
Tonight, seeing Lucy move that way, was almost earth shattering. She’d stirred up the heat in his chest once again, setting him alight and raising the flames higher and higher with every movement she made alongside the bonfire behind her. It was completely mesmerising. The heat seemed to lick at her skin and embody her very being. It only made the feelings harder to ignore as the embers rose into a wildfire.
Natsu wanted her. Lucy was just… Lucy. She was so good to him, so tantalisingly good that it made him feel weak at the knees. That vulnerable feeling that ate him up was because she made him feel like he was going to lose control. He wanted to hold her close, feel her soft flesh against his and breathe in that sent that made his mind go blank. She was everything to him. The blonde that had treated him to a meal all those years ago becoming someone he didn’t want to live without - someone he couldn't.
Natsu had to steady himself against a tree on the outskirts of the village, his heart rate becoming erratic when he thought of everything he wanted with Lucy. He wanted them to spend every moment together, each day planned with Lucy and leading her off to one mission then the next. However, as time passed he soon noticed that his plans with the blonde took at different turn. The thought of her soft pink lips and smooth skin playing on his mind. That was what had control of him now. The idea of her wrapped in his flames as he took her hard. The blush on her cheeks and how her mouth would part in a soft moan - it all made him feverish.
He was caught in a mess, Natsu shaking his head as he tried to collect his thoughts with a deep breath. He wanted Lucy, no, needed her. She had lit a fire that couldn’t be put out and he couldn’t wait to pull her into his chest and crash his lips onto her own. He loved her and by gods it was time she knew.
He had to tell her, his feet pushing him forward to where the team took rest. This feeling - the jitters that spun webs in his gut - only ushered him to continue forward and quickened his pace. He knew that Lucy was different, he had known from the very start. It had scared him. Igneel never mentioned anything to do with love. Even Makarov had only taught him one important lesson that he kept for the rest of his life, to love your family and to keep them safe.
The torches lit his way as he stumbled past people who had gotten too ahead of themselves in the festivities. Except as he rounded a corner and heard her laugh - his steps picked up into a sprint. The time was now, this is what he needed to do.
“Luc-”
Yet in all his resolve, he found himself pausing. There she was. His partner, but she wasn’t alone. He watched as she laughed, the sweet sound resonating in his ears, while waving away Happy. His best friend breezed up in the air as he yelled at the blonde. The faint traces of their conversation tell him that she’d insulted his chances of ever being the right man for Charla.
Now was his chance, but Natsu couldn't bring himself to take another step. Maybe it was the jittery nerves finally freezing up his muscles, or that she had made him falter again. All he knew was that as he watched his team, no - his family - he felt complete in a way that he hadn’t felt in a long, long time.
Lucy was softly smiling as she patted Happy on the back. Her outfit from the dance was gone. It was just her. It was Lucy. Her hair had been taken back up into her pony tail that she had started wearing when he had left her for a year. Her keys were placed on the right side of her hip, the usual brown belt holding them in place. Although she had grown over the years, the blonde hair now reaching past her shoulders and her outfits always being swapped, she was still the same. Her brown eyes were still kind. Their depths drawing him in every time he stared in them for too long, Just like everyone else, she would fight till her last breath for their guild - for him. Lucy was home.
As he watched them, the fire that had been burning so fiercely only blazed brighter. For so long he had been fighting it, thinking the roots that nearly suffocated him would form a forest and leave him in the dark. Now he felt as if he could breathe easier than ever before. This was his team, his family.
Natsu barely registered what was happening before he slipped his arms around both their shoulders, pulling his partners to him in a crushing side hug. His words left his lips as naturally as all the other times before.
“Whatcha guys doing?”
Happy cried out, “Natsu!” but he barely heard his partner as he felt a familiar pair of brown eyes staring at his face. It was Lucy, peering up at him with that concerned look she always wore.
“Where have you been? I was looking all over for you after the dance, but you were gone.”
She blinked and when Natsu turned he felt that familiar sensation, the second where his brain stopped functioning for just a moment. Those eyes would really be the death of him.
A wide grin crept up on his face, his canines flashing at her as he pulled them along forward. “I’ve been here weirdo. Don’t tell me you’re going blind now too,” he spoke before his gaze turned forward, “Come on! I heard there’s leftovers.”
“Aye!” Happy cheered as he flew from Natsu’s grip into the air, leaving him with just his arm around the blonde that nearly gave him heart palpitations. He felt the nervousness begin to swim in his gut, he knew she’d keep asking questions. The blonde blinked and to his surprise a soft laugh left her lips, her hand coming up to hide her face before she smiled.
“Yeah, I am still a bit hungry,” she breathed as she wiped her brow, “That dancing was really hard.”
Natu’s grin stretched even wider, if it was possible, as he raised his hand into the air. “To the leftovers!” he shouted, and his partners echoed his words before they dashed off. The task becoming a race in a few short moments that was soon joined in by Gray. Though, they didn’t get to destroy anything before Erza had stepped in with a giggling Wendy in tow. He grumbled as he rubbed the beginnings of what was soon to become an egg on his head, but a sweet melody lifted him from his troubles. He stared up to the smiling blonde and the grin came up on his face again.
This was his family, and he could still love Lucy. He didn’t need to change anything.
We’ll be together forever from now on
🌹🌹🌹🌹 (this is me poking your brain with a stick and muttering "c'mon, move" interpret the multiple roses as you wish!)
Alright, 4 WIPs! (Some have a rather thick coat of dust on them, haha)
1. Doug’s Boys (A Harvest Moon greaser AU where the boys at Doug’s Inn are in a turf war with a Yankee Girls gang in Forget-Me-Not Valley) In this excerpt, Cliff was spotted doing some recon in enemy territory and it didn’t end well...
“S-Seigi…” His blurry eyes traveled across the weapon.
Nami set down the camera she was preparing to load with film. She was surprised the boy was still conscious; she looked around them cautiously before squatting down beside him. “What are you going on about?” Her voice was serious, but he caught a hint of curiosity in it despite the ringing in his ears.
“Th-The kanji on your bat… seigi… m-means ‘justice’…” He slurred as he coughed and retched on that last word. Cliff looked up at her with dilated pupils; the signs of his concussion strongly evident. “I-I take it you knew that…”
She gave a slight nod. “Wrote it myself.” He was sure there was a smirk under that surgical mask as she stared at her pride and joy. The young woman pointed at the first character. “Sei. It means ‘right’. Gi. ‘Morality’.” She gestured toward the second half of the calligraphy.
He felt a wave of adrenaline rush through him again; he was so angry he could hardly stand it, but his body was too sore to move. “A-And do you see any of that in wh-what you do?!” He choked on vomit and blood.
So now he was willing to talk… She leaned into him so closely that they nearly touched. Nami kept her voice low. “Sometimes the right thing isn’t always the easiest… Look, I don’t hate you, so don’t give me a reason to.”
2. In This Corner of the Farm (A crossover between Harvest Moon and the movie/manga “In This Corner of the World” where Claire agrees to an arranged marriage and learns to live with her new family (Akiyama Village from TSN where Cliff’s family is still alive) away from a world she grew up in. My friend challenged me to combine the two, and it’s kinda been my secret little project only a couple of people have seen - written specially for a close friend. It’s pretty... explicit, so I’m not sure if there’s much interest from readers. Anyway, here’s a blurb from early on:
For as long as she could remember, Trent had helped clean her bumps and scrapes with a tender, steady hand that seemed to have experience well beyond his fifteen years. As a girl who lived on a farm and played outdoors every day, Claire was no stranger to minor injuries, but Trent always faithfully came to her side.
“It’s all I know. I’m going to be away at school all the time and never get to see anyone anymore.” There was a hopelessness to his voice that Claire wasn’t sure how to remedy.
“They’re just trying to help you have a good future,” she insisted with a sad smile. “I bet someday you’ll be saving peoples’ lives and you’ll be happy doing what you do.”
There was something so sincere about those clear blue eyes that the uptight boy couldn’t help but relax a bit. “Well, when you say it, I almost feel like I could believe you.”
Claire’s face lit up; Trent rarely gave a genuine grin, and when he did, it felt like she was the only one in the world he smiled for. She took his hand and twirled herself, her blonde hair fanning out as she drew out a soft chuckle from him.
“You’ll get to meet and help so many people! Just focus on that!” She spun once more and when he shyly let go of her hand, she continued to dance in the grass. The gentle breeze played with her loose hair like a set of celebratory streamers.
“Maybe it won’t be so bad…” He watched, entranced, as the girl moved to music he couldn’t hear, her natural talent a delight to behold. Claire’s face glowed as her eyes met his, and the color rising in her cheeks wasn’t solely from her movement.
3. The file is simply titled “MM”. It’s a Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask I was working on several years ago. After Link releases the spirit from the Deku Mask, he finds himself compelled to wear it, eager to understand this timid voice that keeps calling out to him in his mind when he dons it. He becomes obsessed with the mask, slowly forgetting which memories belong to him.
“Go ahead, try it on. You’re a brave kid, aren’t you?”
He gave an emphatic nod. That was the way it always was with the boy; he was always eager to let others define who he was. The princess had once referred to him as a ray of light, a courageous symbol of hope for her kingdom. That was his favorite description of anyone gave of him, and he did everything he could to live up to those expectations.
He held the mask up to his face and felt his head spin as a searing pain traveled across his body. He could hear the crackling of wood as the mask fused to his flesh and it felt as if his skin was being torn apart. He let out a muffled cry of pain as he doubled over and he realized at once that his body had become more rigid again.
4. The draft is titled “stale chocolate”. A small bit of original fiction I wrote a couple years back, and in a way, it almost feels complete as is. I'm on the fence about whether or not I want to play around with it some more.
While Renee couldn’t remember the last time she had been there, she definitely recalled the way she had left – doors slamming, gritted teeth, acid tears burning the corners of her eyes, and the awful flavor of stale chocolate lingering on her tongue.
Indeed, it had been an unpleasant experience. She had promised herself she would never go back there again.
It didn’t do well to dwell on the past, she reminded herself as she shifted in her seat on the bus. Knees closed, feet pressed together, posture erect, purse in her lap – she hated the overly formal stiff posture she had adopted in public since then. Perhaps it was because she wanted to prove to herself that she still knew how to conduct herself.
Renee always thought of herself as a sensible, practical sort. She didn’t read too much into daydreams, she always carried around something to write with, and she bought milk with the latest expiration date she could find on the shelf.
Perhaps practical and mature were two different categories altogether, she mused.
After all, an immature person could go off on a humiliating tirade and still buy fresh milk.
Weki Meki’s Reaction to Finding Out Their S/O is a Rapper When They Release a Disstrack on a Rapper that Insulted Them
Prompt: Can you make a Wceki miki reaction to finding out their gender neutral s/o is a rapper when they release a disstrack on another rapper who insulted their girlfriend
A/N: I wish Weki Meki would get the recognition they deserve.... But I hope you all enjoy! - Admin Kiwi
Suyeon: “Oh my god, I can’t believe....” She would definitely be torn, because on one hand, she’d know that if it got out that she was dating you, it could be bad for the group, but on the other hand, she would LOVE the drama and would laugh at the curses and disses as you played the track for her, kind of flattered by your defense and happy the person who insulted her was getting it back.
Elly: “Wait, that’s so awesome! You did that for me?” The insults would have made Elly really upset, although she’d be more angry than mad, so when you revealed your rapper status by showing her your diss track, she would totally love it, happy that you were getting her revenge for her, since she wouldn’t be able to say the things that you were saying herself as an idol.
Yoojung: “Um, you didn’t mention my name, did you?” Yoojung would be taken by surprise by the news. First, she’d be surprised that you hid being a rapper from her even though she was an idol rapper herself. Then, she’d be worried that people would blame her for the disstrack, and would make sure that you didn’t reveal her as your girlfriend before you posted the song.
Doyeon: “Wait, I kind of love that.” She would be a little pouty that you’d hidden your rapping from her, but as soon as she heard the disstrack, she’d forget, smiling and laughing at your disses. Even though she’d know that her company would get upset if they tied it back to her, she’d love it anyway and would be happy that you were defending her when she couldn’t really stick up for herself.
Sei: “C-can you say those things?” Sei would be really taken aback and in shock by the whole thing. She would be surprised by the language and disses as well, staring at you with wide eyes and innocently asking if you would get in trouble. But the insults would have really hurt her, and she’d be really touched that you were defending her, even if she wasn’t sure about the track itself.
Lua: “I appreciate you looking out for me, babe.” Hate comments and insults would get to Lua pretty easily, so she’d be pretty relieved and cheered up when you admitted that you were a rapper and showed her the disstrack you were working on to get back at the other rapper. She’d smile and give you a hug after listening, thanking you for having her back and making her feel better.
Rina: “I-I don’t know how to feel.” She would be really surprised at the disstrack, mostly by the aggressiveness of it, and at first, she would be a bit opposed to it. But once she remembered how mean the other rapper had been and the terrible things they’d said, she’d feel like it was kind of deserved and, although she’d make you promise not to reveal she’d see it, she’d give you her approval.
Lucy: “I don’t know what my company will say, but I love it!” Although she would be surprised at how sudden everything was, she would absolutely love that you were sticking up for her and calling the rapper out. She would be pretty hurt by the insults, and, even though she’d joke that the company wouldn’t like it, she’d lowkey recommend it to her fans, finally feeling better about the whole situation.
