(1) The radial runout tolerance of the shaft (or shaft sleeve) where the mechanical seal is installed shall not exceed 0.04-0.06mm at most.
(2) The axial movement of the rotor does not exceed 0.3mm.
(3) The runout tolerance of the joint position of the sealing cavity and the sealing end cover facing the surface of the shaft (or shaft sleeve) shall not exceed 0.04-0.06mm.
2. Check and confirmation of the mechanical seals:
(1) Check whether the installed mechanical seals are the same as the required models.
(2) Before installation, carefully check with the general assembly drawings to see if the parts are complete.
(3) For mechanical seals driven by parallel springs, they can be divided into left or right handed ones, and must be selected according to rotation directions of the rotating shafts. 3. Installation method of such mechanical seals:
Installation methods vary with types of mechanical seals and types of machines, but installation essentials are almost the same. The installation steps and precautions are as follows:
(1)Determination of installation size: During installation, installation size of the mechanical seal should be guaranteed right according to the product instruction manual or sample book.
(2) Before loading, the shaft (sleeve) and gland should be free of burrs, and the bearing should be in good condition; the seals, shaft, sealing cavity and gland should all be cleaned. In order to reduce frictional resistance, the place where the mechanical seal will be installed on the shaft should be coated with a thin layer of oil for lubrication. If oil is not suitable because of the compatibility of rubber O-rings, soapy water can be applied. The structure of floating stationary seat without anti-rotation pin should not be oiled, and should be installed in the gland dry.
(3) Install the stationary seat of the mechanical seal together with the gland on the shaft firstďźbeing careful not to collide them with the shaftďź, and then install the rotary face assembly. The set screw of the spring seat or transmission seat should be evenly tightened several times.

Positive displacement compressors have a cavity that allows a volume of gas to enter the machine at atmospheric pressure. The chamber then becomes smaller, decreasing in volume while increasing the gas pressure. For example, on a piston compressor, the piston moves up the cylinder, shrinking the space above it, which means the air has to increase in pressure to fit in the smaller cavity.
In a twin rotor compressor, air is trapped and sealed between the male and female rotor profiles. As the rotors rotate and engage, air is pushed into smaller and smaller spaces along the rotors, and the pressure will increase again to allow a given volume of air to fit into the cavities in the compression chambers.
There are several single rotor compressor types - vane, liquid ring and scroll. Atlas Copco regards the âSF scroll compressor as its main product in this category. Some vacuum pumps also use this technique. But in a scroll compressor, a single helical rotor oscillates over similar fixed helixes, and as these helixes move toward each other, the cavity that traps air between them gets progressively smaller. The reduction in volume forces an increase in intake pressure for a fixed volume.
Air quality: Oil-free vs. oil-injected air compressors
