Band of Brothers Ages: IRL vs. Actors
Did you know that according to a 1947 study, almost half the men who served in WWII were still under age 26 by the end of the war?
What this is : A (very long) post comparing the ages of the actors in Band of Brothers vs. the IRL figures they are portraying.
Background: Did I need to do this? No. Did anyone ask for this? Also no. Did I do it anyway? Yes.
Disclaimers: This is SUPER approximate for the most part. I based IRL ages off of D-Day unless otherwise noted, and actor ages off of January 1, 2000, the year filming took place (the latter is where the most variation will be because I didn't try to figure out what month filming started). I also didn't fact-check birthdays beyond googling. Most are sourced from the Band of Brothers and Military Wikis on fandom.com, Wikipedia, and IMDb.
I broke them up into rough categories, which are, again, approximate. I know I often forget how young the real life people were here, and this was a good reminder of that. I also found it interesting to see which actors were actually younger than their roles!

Twins Take Royals In Opener!
Royals 3 Twins 8 W-Lopez (11-8) L-Singer (8-8)
The Minnesota Twins split a huge series with the Indians this past weekend. They had another big series against the Royals starting tonight at Target Field. The Royals were ready from the start as Bobby Witt Jr. crushed a Pablo Lopez sweeper out to left for a solo homer. This put Kansas City up by a run before the Twins grabbed a bat. The Royals kept adding on in the second as MJ Melendez reached on catcher's interference and Maikel Garcia lined a two-out single to right. Kyle Isbel singled home a run and the Royals doubled their lead. The Twins answered in the second when Carlos Santana drew a two-out walk and Ryan Jeffers singled. Austin Martin singled home a run and the Twins were within a run. Willi Castro followed and smacked a Brady Singer slider out to right for a three-run homer. Trevor Larnach kept the inning alive with a base hit and Royce Lewis hammered a Brady Singer fastball out to left for a two-run shot. This put the Twins up 6-2 and Pablo Lopez cruised through the middle innings. The Royals inched closer in the sixth when MJ Melendez doubled and Adam Frazier singled him home. The Twins got that run back in the seventh as Trevor Larnach drew a lead-off walk and Royce Lewis reached on an error. Matt Wallner hit a run-scoring single to right and Manny Margot hit a sac fly to center. The Minnesota lead grew to five after seven innings of pay. Trevor Richards put up a zero in the eighth and Scott Blewett had a 1-2-3 ninth as the Twins took the opener from the Royals tonight.
-Final Thoughts- Pablo Lopez was solid tonight with six very good innings. He allowed three runs on six hits with five strikeouts. Griffin Jax had a scoreless seventh, Trevor Richards fanned two in the eighth, and Scott Blewett had a perfect ninth. Royce Lewis and Max Kepler had two hits each. The Twins hit 3-for-7 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base. Byron Buxton left the game with a hip issue. Tomorrow, Seth Lugo faces Zebby Matthews in his Major League debut in Game 2.

How refreshing to see the economy doing so well. ** Some are upset that Biden launched strikes against Yeman without congressional approval. The Houthi’s have interrupted the supply chain route. ** And why do Trump and friends bitch about Biden at all? According to them, a President has total immunity so what is the problem?? Can’t he do anything he wants?  Why did we never have this problem before? Trump claims a President needs immunity but I don’t think it was a problem until now. ** Chris Christie is out .. It’s awards season!!!!!!!
The Golden Globes sure got some smack. Jo Koy was raked over the coals for his idea of hosting. He kept angrily making excuses and telling the crowd he didn’t write some of the jokes. What?? It is a tough gig and I can sympathize BUT I don’t think he said any terrible things but it was the way he said it. Everybody was talking about Taylor Swift but I didn’t see that she seemed angry, she often looks like that. I was taken aback by the Barbie thing. He was right, as Greta Gerwig pointed out that it was true that they made a movie about a doll with big boobs. I think it was the way he said it. He was so dismissive on a night that was sort of celebratory for women. To have a box office smash all around a woman theme was a breakthrough. He treated it like it could not compare to the ‘important’ movies. He made fun of their work instead of some of the actual celebrity eccentricities like a Gervais might do. I don’t know that it was the big deal the press made of it, just don’t ask him back. My best dressed were Issa Rae, Nicolas Cage, Rosamund Pike, Rachel Brosnahan, Brie Larson, Selena Gomez, Julia Garner, Andra Day, Taylor Swift, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Jim Gaffigan, Matt Rhys, Natasha Lyonne, Natalie Portman, Margot Robbie, Lenny Kravitz, Deacon Phillippe, Kristen Wiig, Meryl Streep, Jodie Foster and Emma Stone. The theme of the night seemed to be slicked back hair. Winners included Ricky Gervais, Davine Joy Randolph, Robert Downey Jr., Ali Wong, Lily Gladstone, Sarah Snook, Matt McFadden, Paul Giamatti and KIERAN CULKIN!! The whole audience stood when they called Culkin’s name which seemed to embarrass him but he so deserved it. There is always one older celeb who acts a bit strange, this year it was Kevin Costner who mumbled his banter and seemed to hate America Ferrera. They were an odd couple. A great couple was Martin Short and Meryl Streep who insist they are just good friends. They were so cute and I want them together in the worst way!! I was thrilled that the powers that be made this award show easy to watch. Award shows are very strict about keeping things on the network that broadcast the event. This show was on multiple sites. I always wonder about that because they don’t have enough ratings to be so selfish.
*****
The Critics Choice awards were hosted by Chelsea Handler who did a good job. To me, the best dressed were Jen Aniston, Carey Mulligan, Jodie Foster, Margot Robbie, Colman Domingo, Harvey Guillen, Chelsea Handler, Christina Ricci, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kieran Culkin, Alison Williams, Lenny Kravitz, Ali Wong, Mandy Moore, Rosamund Pike, Quinta Brunson, Bella Ramsey, Kaley Cuoco and Karen Pittman. I was so glad to see Ramon Rodriguez nominated!!!** Kieran Culkin won again!! Other winners include Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Ali Wong, Barbie, Oppenheimer, Succession and American Fiction. When Meryl Streep is nominated for tv, it reminds me of the Nascar Cup drivers that compete in the other races. She didn’t win anyway but it just doesn’t seem quite right.
*****
The 75th Emmys was hosted by Anthony Anderson and he did a good job too. His Mother was even better. TV theme songs were front and center. I think Mr. Anderson just really wanted to sing them!  My best dressed were Sheryl Lee Ralph, Rhea Seehorn (who I was really routing for but no win), Ken and Tran Jeong, Alan Ruck, Dominique Fishback, Taylor Tomlinson, Brian Cox, Ali Wong (she nailed it at every show), Niecy Nash, Joy Sunday, Sarah Snook, Briga Heelan, Katherine Hiegel, Jenna Ortega, Donald Glover, Giancarlo Esposito, Jessica Chastain, Mario Bello, Keiran and Jazz, Claire Danes and Riley Keough. Princess Poppy stood out for the Green Goblin look. I was most excited to see Holland Taylor, Marla Gibbs, the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel cast and Carol Burnett. Winners include Kieran again, Quinta Brunson, Niecy Nash-Betts, Sarah Snook, The Daily Show with Trever Noah and Succession. I laughed the most when the It’s Always Sunny cast came on. Give those funny humans some love academy!!!!** Seriously, I liked the winners in any Saul category that won but Better Call Saul was so overdue with 0 for 53. They did set a record though for the most nominated show that never won.** Kieran Culkin may be doing a comedy next. ** Listen to a drag queen.- RuPaul

People made much about Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie not getting noms for directing and acting respectively. Looks like it is time for a movie of the week about Elle King. Word is that she has had several drunken performances lately. It was the recent Dolly Parton tribute at the Opry that went awry. The age old question of how the public will react in the long run will have to play out. Will she stay a rebel and get thru? Will she have a reality show or do rehab? Will she want to do anything?

Why was Kimmel interviewing Depend models and telling them, they would be humiliated the rest of their lives?” This product is crucial for a certain population of this world. The U-20 US Soccer team dominates Slovakia 2-0 to clinch Group B win at World Cup
Tumblr media
The U-20 US Soccer team dominates Slovakia 2-0 to clinch Group B win at World Cup The U-20 US Soccer team dominates Slovakia 2-0 to clinch Group B win at World Cup The Under-20 US Soccer team showed their dominance in their second game of the FIFA Under-20 World Cup as they defeated Slovakia 2-0 in Lublin, Poland on Monday. The United States will now advance to the knockout stage of the tournament as the group winner with a total of six points and no goals conceded. Goals by Soto and Weah The U.S started the game brightly with forward Sebastian Soto scoring the first goal of the game in the 18th minute from a corner kick. The Real Salt Lake academy player's goal was his second of the tournament. The Americans continued to press Slovakia and their persistence in attack paid off in the 53rd minute when Timothy Weah doubled the lead with a tap-in. The Paris Saint-Germain youngster was in the right position to send the ball into the back of the net, which made it impossible for Slovakia to bounce back in the game. The defense plays a crucial role The U.S defense was rock solid as they kept another clean sheet, their second consecutive of the tournament. Goalkeeper, Brady Scott, commanded the defense superbly, making key saves throughout the game to prevent any chance for Slovakia to score. With their defense working like a well-oiled machine, the team is set to face the teams from Group F in the knockout stage of the tournament. Next Fixture The U.S squad will face the second-placed team from Group F on June 4th, in the round of 16. The match will be held at the Stadion Miejski w Tychach in Tychy, Poland. With this comfortable win over Slovakia, the Americans will be confident heading into the next round of the tournament. Summary The U.S team is looking in great shape in the FIFA Under-20 World Cup, having won both of their Group B games. Sebastian Soto and Timothy Weah played a crucial role in securing a place in the knockout stages. The defense was also instrumental, keeping another clean sheet. The U.S will now wait to find out their opposition for the round of 16. #USASoccer #WorldCup2019 #U20Soccer #NEWS Read the full article

Sunrise Sunset Leak Summary
MY...GOD.
We open with Dadszlo wondering wtf is up with his surly teenager. He tries to tell Colin to pick up his toys etc and Colin sasses him and leaves his headphones on.
We see Dadszlo and Guillermom having tea discussing the puberty issue, and Nandor playing a book reader, barely partaking in whats going on. We see Laszlo having playdates for Colin and comforting him when a kid broke the rules...but hes like a full grown man acting like a kid lol. Guillermo tries to teach him how to play baseball to no avail.
Our opening credits are Dadszlo melancholy singing Sunrise Sunset while watching his angry teen son. We see a bunch of pics of him and baby Colin from the past year incl formal portrait shots and everything and my heart literally broke.
At the club nothing has gone well. They tried vampire rap battles but vampires are too volatile, improv group but vampires dont get improv ‘cuz its not funny’, bachelorette parties, horror house tours (with a human remarking the sire is just a cheap costume off amazon) and finally basically vampire chuck e cheese.
Back at home Nandor says they cant talk to Colin cuz they arent speaking the jive, the slang kids respond to. He goes to try this, finding Colin bashing in the basement (Laszlo calls it his healthy angry release) and he humors Nandor but makes the jerk off motion when he turns around to leave.
Back at the club PT Barnum is there and Nadja is like I am pretty sure hes dead. Guide is like nah hes a vampire...then its revealed they have the 2nd largest collection of human souls in the US (translator cut off at who has the 1st). The souls dissolve back into the bottles after 24hrs and the Guide has learned how to revive them for that time with witchcraft. So of course they decide to reviva Scott Joplin inventor of ragtime (who they fan girl over).
Back at home Colin is in trouble...he stole Sean’s car. And hes sassing his parents. Sean is trying to help and its just pure screaming. Sean says they should duke it out, Guillermo says fuck no thats the worst idea. Colin apologizes and says maybe he can help Sean drag his car out of the pound. As they leave his eyes glow and his parents realize yeah hes an energy vampire again and Laszlo will have to tell him.
Back the club Scott is playing while the girls plan, they think about bringing back Diamond Jim Brady before concluding they could revive people from history and host it as a one off night. It...doesnt go great. Most of the people Nadja picked dont speak english and no one showed up anyway.
Back at home Laszlo tells Colin and Colin is like why didnt you tell me before? Laszlo’s explanation while saying how great he is is that he didnt want to limit Colin. Colin says god dammit and Laszlo winces. He starts saying God and Christ til Laszlo is writhing and runs from the room upset.
Meanwhile Guillermo is realizing since hes almost grown and Nandor made his bf run off with his clone hes basically an empty nester. Nothing ever gets better but it never changes. He’ll always have something to do but it’ll be like being a hamster in a wheel, you never get any farther along.
Guillermo checks in on Nandor after literally giving up on cleaning. Asks if hes okay cuz hes been kinda quiet lately. Nandor is still reading. He says yeah Im kinda glad for the loneliness, the quiet time after dealing with Mawra. And Guillermo is like so you just wanted the wedding and now your done you dont care if anything ever changes? Nandor is like I dont have time to look back lol. Years pass no biggy. Guillermo is like then what then? Nandor says well you’ve noticed I’ve gotten back to my reading. For how long? Oh 15-20 years we’ll see.
After Nadja’s second history night bombs (Guillermo listening 11 times made them .06 cents lol) She puts the wraiths on a bus for universal orlando for a ‘vacation’ (minions?) and then sets the club on fire...only to find out later that the actual club didnt burn cuz the blood sprinklers finally worked but her OFFICE WITH HER MONEY DID. She blames this on blood liquor.
Meanwhile Colin  got back to hammering and found a box. The box had a slide. The slide led to 4 spots on the wall that when hit reveal a hidden closet and archive. They of course end that on a fart noise. When we see him next hes full fledged adult baldy colin.
He acts like nothing is amiss and the whole fam is shocked. Nandor asks is that really him? Colin is like um yeah why? Laszlo asks does he remember speaking/singing in a childish voice at the wedding etc. He takes that to mean Sean’s pillow sale party and does the Jar Jar voice. Colin unaware of what the fuck has gone on says he’ll pay to restore the wall he busted out and anything else that needs done (they have over half a mil in the bank).
Colin brings in contractors and tells them what to do. He asks Laszlo what to do with the race car bed. Laszlo says it was yours dont u remember? Colin says no Ive never slept in a racecar bed in my life. Laszlo says dont u remember the last year? Me singing while looking at your baby pictures? How I raised you? Nope he just remembers his funny tummy at the birthday party and then now. Laszlo seems devastated but tries not to show it.
The ep ends with Guillermo taking his money duffel bag (he never revealed to Nadja) and offering it to Derrick to turn him into a vampire cuz if he doesnt change something nothing will. The way he talks (could be jammed with the translator) he seems to be acting like he will not come back cuz he tells the crew they can use his room for storage if they want to. He leaves at daylight so none of the vampires know. After asking Derrick it cuts the end. Finished with the entire group singing Sunrise Sunset over the credits.

surprise!
Tumblr media
A/N: I wrote this a long time ago and didn’t have the energy to write more of it, I think it kinda sucks but anyways…
I was rewatching the interview with that shirt that had everyone (including myself) go absolutely feral and Chris mentioned him and Scott love to rollerblade so here you go.
ALSO!! I am taking requests as of now so please ask me anything or request :) I still need to do a guideline for it but if y’all have any cute or fluffy ideas let me know:)
Word count: 814
pairing: chris evans x fem!reader, chris evans x reader (she/her pronouns/referral)
Warnings: swearing, surprise, fluff, implied smut if you squint but nothing explicit (still, MINORS DNI) mentions of being blindfolded
----
It was Chris’s 40th birthday and you had no idea what to do for him. Of course he loved nothing but spending time with you and doing a few other things but you had to make sure whatever you planned was special. You didn’t want to let him down with a lame ass get together with his friends and family, and though he would enjoy that too, it still wasn’t enough.
“Yeah are you kidding? I love rollerblading!” you heard him talking to the interviewer in the other room.
Your head peaked up from the couch you and Dodger were sitting on.
“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” you asked him, raising your eyebrow. He looked at you with confusion and tilted his head. “No no it’s not dog treats but you’ll get one for keeping this secret, buddy.”
---
“Put this on,” you instructed Chris in the car.
“A blind fold?  I didn’t know we were gonna get this kinky for my birthday,” he bit his lip, voice lowering.
“Oh get your head out of the gutter babe just put it on,” you laughed.
“Ok but if anything happens know that these windows aren’t tinted,” he sighed and leaned back.
You rolled your eyes and pulled out of the parking lot. Of course you made a few misleading turns and roundabouts so he wouldn’t have a clue where you were going and you got the occasional him grabbing the “Oh shit” handle.
“Are you actually trying to kill me? This isn’t Happy Death Day is it?”
“Oh shush and put these on too,” you instructed.
“Baby I can’t see what you’re holding up.”
“It’s just noise cancelling headphones, we have to walk somewhere first and I can’t have you guessing.”
He raised his eyebrows at you. “Where the hell did you bring me? Should I be scared for my life? Oh unless…”
“No no no it would never be that. Why do people always think it’s gonna be that,” shook your head and proceeded to put on the headphones.
“CAN YOU HEAR ME?” you shouted.
He just sat there, stone faced and like he didn’t have a care in the world. “I’m sorry for what I’m about to say next Chris I have to make sure these actually work.”
You let out a sigh. “The Patriots suck and will never win another Super a bowl without Brady.” No response. Perfect.
“Come on big boy I know you can’t hear me but you’re gonna have to trust me,” you said as you led him into the doorway, pass the arcade machines, and down to the rink.
“Holy shit, Y/N you really went all out,” Scott gasped when he saw what Chris had on. “I mean I really would’ve faked an actual kidnapping but this works too.”
“I didn’t want to give him an actual heart attack now that he’s an old man.”
Taking the headphones off you said, “Ok when I take the blind fold off you can open your eyes, ready?”
“Yup let’s do it,” he replied.
“SURPRISE!” everyone cheered.
“Oh my god,” he gasped, as he looked around the room to take it all in. “This is amazing holy shit. Thank you baby I love this so much.” He turned around to you and engulfed you in a hug.
“You’re welcome” you said into his neck smiling.
“How did you know? The arcade, the roller rink to rollerblade in, this is perfect!”
“I may have overheard you and Scott talking the other day,” you reply slyly, giving him a smile.
“Yeah it was all her, dude” Scott said walking over. “You’re a real lucky guy.”
“That I am.”
----
“WATCH OUT!” you screamed but it was too late. You body slammed into Chris who just so happened to be behind Scott who also happened to be behind one of their friends. They had all tried to make a conga line but your skates had other plans. You were never really good at any of this but Chris and Scott were like Gods out there.
Like dominos, each of you fell on top of each other and had the whole party collectively sucking in their breath with an “Oooof.”
“Are you guys ok?” you asked. “I’m so sorry I’m such a klutz with this shit.”
“As long as Grandpa didn’t break or strain anything I think we’re ok,” Scott laughed.
“Alright alright enough with the old man jokes,” Chris waved his hand while getting up.
“Aww sorry didn’t mean to hurt AARP’s newest member’s feelings,” you playfully frowned, skating away. But Chris had different plans as he quickly skated over to you, grabbing you from behind and whispered “Just wait till tonight sweetheart, I’ll show you what a real grandpa can do.”
A shiver went down your spine. “You still have anything to say, baby?” You gulped but didn’t let him see what it did to you. “Try me.”

Royals Beat Twins Late.
Royals 3 Twins 2 W-Chapman (1-0) L-Duran (0-1) SV-Barlow (4)
The Minnesota Twins have dominated the Royals with wins in the first five meetings. Today, the Royals had enough of it and fought back late in a Saturday matinee. Bailey Ober and Brad Keller threw up zeroes for the first three innings of play. The Twins got their offense going in the fourth as Byron Buxton led-off with a walk and Jose Miranda reached on an infield single. Ryan Jeffers walked to load up the bases and a wild pitch plated a run. The Royals responded in the fifth with an Edward Olivares lead-off double. Nicky Lopez singled him home to even the game at one apiece. Pitching dominated most of the day and the Twins jumped ahead in the seventh. Byron Buxton drilled a Taylor Clarke slider out to left for a solo homer and the Twins were back up by a run. The Twins bullpen was shaky in the eighth as Griffin Jax walked Bobby Witt Jr. to start the inning. He stole second base and Salvador Perez liend a run-scoring single to center to tie the game at two all. The Royals got back to work in the ninth when Jhoan Duran walked two batters. Nicky Lopez bunted the runners over and a wild pitch scored Edward Olivares to put Kansas City up 3-2. Scott Barlow got in and out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth and the Royals picked up their first win of the year against the Twins.
-Final Thoughts- Bailey Ober had a strong start with 5 2/3 solid innings. He gave up a run on four hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Caleb Thielbar got four big outs and Griffin Jax allowed a run in 2/3 of an inning. Jorge Lopez allowed the game-tying single to Salvador Perez. Jhoan Duran walked three in a outing where he didn’t have control. He only allowed a run in the ninth. Max Kepler, Carlos Correa, and Jorge Polanco had two hits each. The Twins hit 0-for-11 with runners in scoring position, which was their detriment. They left twelve men on base. Tomorrow, Brady Singer faces Sonny Gray in the series finale.
