Parent Names:

Ulfrik Göransson (Father): Getta enjoyed his father and if he had been given the chance he would have changed him into a vampire.

Bon’Ginnever (Mother): Getta doesn’t remember much about his mother beside the fact that she had blonde hair and an unusual eye color. Bon’Ginnever died from an infection. He was sure it was over the loss of Aleigha, his little sister. She was never the same after and death took her months later.

Emmalee (Step-Mother): Getta didn’t approve of his father remarrying. Since Emmalee was around his age, Getta tried his best to ignore her to keep from showing her any disrespect and disappointing his father.

Sibling Names:

Eirikur Ulfrikson (Brother): Eirikur was born several years after Getta. Getta doesn’t remember much about Eirikur as a child but he remembers his little brother all grown up and being a ladies man. Eirikus died mysteriously in his sleep. Getta is now sure he must have caught an STD or something. 

Aleigha Ulfrikdotter (Sister): Just like Eirikur, Aleigha was born several years after her brothers. Getta was nearing his late teens when she was born. Sadly, Aleigha was sold off to pay their debts and Getta still has no idea what faith laid out for her.

Bryleigh Ulfrikson (Half-Brother): Getta was out of the castle when Bryleigh was born. Getta never had the chance to meet Bryleigh. He only knew his name and the random updates his father would send him.

Children Names:

Ulfric Scorpiusson (Son): Ulfric was named after Getta’s father, following the old Nordic practice, before hereditary surnames were introduced. Ulfric grew to be a spitting image of Getta’s father with the same attitude to follow it. That’s probably why they get along so well. Getta turned Ulfric, on his request, into a vampire on his 20th birthday. He is still alive and married with his own seethe in Sweden.

Bjorn Scorpiusson (Son): Bjorn was named after Solveig’s father, following the old Nordic practice, before hereditary surnames were introduced. Getta doesn’t know where Bjon got it from but he is absolutely unpredictable. He was well on his way to become a shadow vampire when Getta stepped in and killed him. Bjon was always Solveig favorite and Getta still mourns the both of them.

Kjersti Getta née Scorpiusdotter (Daughter): Kjersti was named after Solveig’s mother, following the old Nordic practice, before hereditary surnames were introduced. Kjersti was unexpected but wanted. Getta made sure she didn’t follow the same fate as Aleigha and kept her close. She was the 3rd person Getta changed and he doesn’t regret it. She now holds rank in his seethe.

Romantic Connections:

Solveig Pelledotter (Wife): Getta wasn’t in love with Solveig but at the time it was his duty to marry and continue his bloodline. After marriage, they became close friends. If given the chance, Getta was sure they would have eventually fallen in love. Solveig had taken her own life after Getta was changed.

Platonic Connections:

Alva Ebba Getta nee Garbo (Daughter-In-Law): Alva married Getta’s son Ulfric over a thousand years ago. At first he did not approve of her but thought a wedding would be good for overall morale. Over time Getta learned to love her as one of his own. Getta especially likes it when she puts his son in his place.

Geralt Getta (Son-In-Law/Progeny): Geralt was an orphan on the streets Getta fed from. Getta adopted Geralt and he was Getta's first vampiric progeny. Getta sees him more like a brother and best friend than a son, especially after Geralt married his daughter, Kjersti. 

Winona Fili (Progeny): Getta had originally turned Winona into a vampire for his son Bjon. He should have known better because the two hated each other. Frankly, after the way his son reacted Getta knew Winona deserved better. Getta still cannot accept that Winona is gone and is trying his hardest not to fall into a depression. Losing Winona was worse than losing a limb or death itself. Getta still expects her to be there when he turns around or wherever he gets a brilliant idea.  

Aleksander Mazur (Progeny): Getta found Aleksander when Aleksander was at his lowest on the streets of London. Aleksander tried to rob Getta and failed. Instead of killing him or turning him to the authorities, Getta fed him, gave him fresh clothes and offered him a new life as a vampire. They have a well built relationship that is not exactly a father and son type but close enough. 

Raphael Caron (Progeny): Getta saved Raphael's life. Raphael was dying from Leukemia when Getta gave his parents the terms and conditions of vampirism. Their relationship is stronger than ever nearly two centuries later. Getta enjoys Raphael’s creative side and allows him to use him as a test subject.

Fiona ‘Fi’ Marz (Progeny): Getta does not like sharing the story of how he found Fi but she has been with him since she was a 6 years old human. Getta held out on changing her into a vampire until she was mature enough. After living and dealing with Fi for centuries, nearly a millennium, Getta has turned from an overbearing father to a cool understanding brother and to a best friend. Getta can switch to whichever role she needs from him at the time without making it awkward.

Dan Prior (Vampire Son-In-Law): Getta couldn’t hate Dan if he tried nor can he blame Dan for Winona’s death. Dan's first few years were tough on Getta, he was the new master of his seethe, lost his closest companion and progeny, and had a suicidal baby vampire to watch over. Getta feels like Dan and Fili are the only things he has left of Winona. He has been better about separating them from her but something in him always feels like it's snapping when he does.  

Richard Fili (Vampire Grandson): Fili was changed by Winona many years ago. Getta has always been accepting of Fili and even fatherly at times. Getta puts up with Fili’s bullshit, only getting pissed if Fili messes up big time, and he knows that is enough to make Fili grateful and undeniably loyal. Fili seems to be the only one that has taken notice of Getta keeping himself busy and staring off into space since Winona’s death; Fili is worried for him but Getta isn’t ready to talk yet.

Audrey Ann Wallace (Vampire Granddaughter): Audrey was turned into a vampire by Garelt when Kjersti started mourning the loss of ever being a mother. Audrey reminds him a lot of Kjersti and can be mistaken as their biological child.

Petra Chak (Best Friend): Petra and Getta have an unlikely friendship. She had originally come to Chicago to take over Getta’s seethe for her own master but somehow Getta had won her over. Over the years they formed an unbreakable bond and Getta trusts Petra with his life and the lives of their entire seethe. 

Sadie McCoy (Good Friend): Sadie randomly showed up one day… Or at least Getta finally noticed her and was too ashamed to ask anyone who she was or where she came from. Sadie hung out with Winona and by default hung out with Getta. It didn’t take long for him to grow fond of her and to constantly want her around. She became his muse and little soldier girl. She took Winona’s death as hard as Fili, Dan and Getta’s other progeny.  

Morana ‘Ana’ Vickors (Old Friend): Ana was a part of Getta’s seethe before he became the seethe master. She saw the destruction their old seethe master caused and quickly jumped on his support train when he took over. Getta considers her a trusted and loyal friend. Getta is also close to Ana’s husband and daughter. 

Sven (Old Friend): Getta met Sven a few times in Europe and again in the New World. Sven was always a loner and some considered him to be a feared shadow vampire. It took Getta a while but he convinced Sven to join the seethe he was apart nearly 300 years ago. Sven came and went as he pleased but Getta is happy to see that lately Sven has been making a permanent home for himself in Chicago. 

Chiara Ricci (Friend): Getta knew Chiara’s adopted vampiric parents. When he asked them to come teach for them, he was aware that they had changed a woman to be their child but never figured it would be someone with Chiara’s personality. She makes Getta laugh and can retell stories about himself better than he can. 

Hostile Connections:

Nick and Ray Hamelin (Hate): Getta doesn’t hate easily nor does he have a vindictive streak but the Hamelin brothers live to test his restraint. Vampires are not widely liked among the mortal supernaturals and Getta understands that. What Getta doesn’t understand is why the rats are constantly trying to enter the closed section of the Underground or why the rats cannot leave them in peace. After the poisonous gas accident Nick and Ray attacked the Underground killing multiple orphaned and neonate vampires. Getta was tempted to retaliate but put the entire seethe needs ahead of his own. He and Petra have tried to explain that the closed section of the Underground is semi poisonous but their pleads have gone unheard.

→ History Scorpius Getta was born Göran-Skorpionen Ulfirkson. He changed his name to Scorpius Getta after he was changed into a vampire and a widower. He no longer wanted to associate with his human past and this was especially so after changing all of his biological children to vampires also. Getta travelled the world, finding those he bonded with or those he thought deserved another life and changing them. → The Present Getta plans on expanding the Undergrounds and opening an above ground full service Hotel made especially for vampires. The only thing holding him back are key features and trusted human or supernatural construction workers. The key features are shutters and windows that completely block out the sun which are currently out of reach. Getta has already begun employing witches and warlocks to help, and his dreams seem closer to reality. Getta plans on naming it Hotel Winona.

Fili is an old vampire that has seen and lived through many things. It plays a large role in his expansive personality. Fili is extremely sarcastic with dark outlooks on life and a strict ‘you only live once’ attitude. Despite being totally apathetic, Fili has a keen ability for reading people’s emotions; especially for someone who cannot express his own. Fili is very loyal and protective of those he considers family and friends. Out of his entire vampire family, Fili feels as though he is the most grounded and normal of them all. Whether it is with his dark logic or blunt words, Fili is finding it harder to make new friends and keep jobs without upsetting someone. This is also why Fili has been a trader, keeper, guardian, and instructor at Hema Academy but has always been kicked out of his positions.

Fili is a firm believer of being superior and loves to use his strengths against those who are inferior. He is always learning new things and keeping up to date with the world. He has 37 bachelor’s degrees, 22 master’s degrees, 9 Ph.D.’s and speaks over 50 languages. One of the only things that sets him apart from other vampires is his frugal ways. Fili, despite having one of the bigger rooms in the groundscraper, enjoys the bare minimum. Fili was not born to a rich family, Getta and Winona did try to spoil everyone they turned but Fili personally dislikes prissy rich people that are very arrogant and rude. He enjoys his sense of privacy and independence despite his inability to effectively function on his own; he needs companionship to keep from going depressed or suffering from pure boredom. Richard goes by his last name Fili. People who are not family think it is his legal first name.

Mrs. Cortilli (Mother): Fili only ever called his mother ma'am or mother and he does not remember much more about her. One day she did not come home from the market when Fili was around 17 years old. He continued on with his life in their cabin until the day he decided his life was not really a life worth living.

Nathan Cleirigh (Interest): Nathan and Fili went on a few dates.. In multiple different decades. Some would call what they have a on and off again relationship but Fili is unsure. Wanting something more out of life, he is ready to start over again with Nathan but is unsure of how the warlock will receive him this time around. Fili thinks Nathan may be the one but the warlock is avoiding him like a plague.

Platonic Connections:

Winona Fili (Maker/Sire): Winona and Richard met when Richard was around 34  years old, outside of Rome. He was preparing to take his own life; fatherless, motherless, wifeless, kidless and jobless. He had nothing to live for and Winona talked him down. She introduced him to the supernatural world and later on offered to change him. He accepted, took her last name and left his past life as Richard behind. Winona gave Fili everything he never knew he wanted. Her death was tragic and has brought back countless bad memories and worthlessness.

Scorpius Getta (Vampire Grandpa): Getta has always been accepting of Fili and even fatherly at times. Getta always brought a smile and sass into the room, lighting it up. Getta puts up with Fili’s bullshit, only getting pissed if Fili messes up big time, that is enough to make Fili grateful and undeniably loyal. Fili has noticed that the older gentleman has been keeping himself busy and staring off into space since Winona’s death; it is making Fili worry.

Raphael Caron (Vampire Uncle): Fili remembers how sickly Raphael once was and the pity that filled him for the young gentlemen. When Raphael had enough control over his thirst, Fili made sure to introduce him to everything he was unable to do as a sick human. Raphael is one of his few travelling companions.

Fiona ‘Fi’ Marz (Vampire Aunt): Fi and Fili have what some would call a strange relationship. They have both been around for a long time and agreed that being in each other’s presence for more than a certain amount of time is destructive for the both of them. He appreciates that they can be attached at the hip for weeks then the following smile at each other from across the hallway and keep it moving. These times dependency of each other varies from days, weeks, months and years.

Aleksander Mazur (Vampire Uncle): Fili is older than Aleksander and sees him more as a brother and good friend. They have fun and party a lot together. Fili has never pulled rank or age on Aleksander and never plans to in the future.

Dan Prior (Vampire Would-Be-Father): Winona and Dan were a surprise. Winona never showed interest in settling down romantically, especially for someone who was over a thousand years old. When Winona started showing an interest in Dan and brought him home, everyone knew he was special and that he must have been the one. Fili was starting to accept the fact that Dan would be younger than himself and be considered his father as his maker’s mate, when tragedy struck.

Hostile Connections:

Sadie McCoy (Annoyed): For the past hundred years, Sadie has made Fili’s life hell. Sadie is continuously tossing rules in Fili’s face that either were not around when he existed or he helped put in place. She is currently pushing for him to retire completely and it is taking all of Fili’s strength and respect to not kill her.

Petra Chek (One-Sided Dislike): Petra calls him a threat and is openly snippy with him. She believes that he is sometimes so self destructive that he becomes destructive to the seethe as a whole. When that happens Petra can no longer see him as a friend but a threat. Fili could not care any less and tosses back whatever energy she is showing him when they bump into each other; which is often.

Parent Names:

Gianna Ricci (Adopted Mother): Gianna lost her daughter when she was changed and it permanently plagued her with grief. When Angelo found Chiara, he thought it was the perfect solution to his mate’s never ending sadness. When she met Gianna it felt like something clicked, like she’d seen her somewhere before. Gianna fell over herself and was incredibly welcoming. Chiara settled in well with her new family and was given everything she needed to excel as a vampire and with her education. Gianna and Angelo moved to Chicago to help found the Hema Academy and took their fledgling daughter with them.

Angelo Ricci (Adopted Father): Angelo saw Chiara in a night market and nearly fell over. She was the spitting image of his mate’s deceased daughter whom she mourned constantly. He went up to Chiara and introduced himself. They met a couple more times before he explained his offer. An eternal life of luxury filled with world travels and education. All of which were far beyond anything Chiara would achieve on her own with 11 siblings. She accepted his offer and was changed as a present for his wife. He and Gianna welcomed her with open arms and went straight to work teaching her how to be a vampire as well as enriching the little education she already had. He and Gianna were asked by Scorpius Getta to become teachers at the newly founded Hema Academy and so they all packed up and moved to Chicago 87 years ago.

Unnamed Siblings (11 brothers and sisters): Chiara was the 3rd eldest of 12 children. She was a caretaker for many of her siblings but had no desire for it. She wished to see the world and become educated and resented having to take care of her siblings. Chiara rarely thinks of them and has forgotten their names.

Averill Sookram (Ex-boyfriend): Averill was definitely a part of her bad boy warlock phase that her parents disapproved of. He was always fascinating and had incredibly interesting stories. Despite breaking up, they still can talk as friends. 

Fiona ‘Fi’ Marz (Longtime Crush): If Fi was ever interested in her, Chiara would take her up in an instant. She doesn’t think they’d be a particularly good couple long term, but they would have fun. 

Audo Wilhelm (Ex-Boyfriend): Audo was the first person Chiara connected with in Chicago. They began talking when she found out his power and had long conversations about reincarnation, tarot, and being an oracle. It was a good 10 years before she spoke to him again after they broke up, but they're mostly ok now. 

Platonic Connections:

Scorpius Getta (Cool Uncle): Chiara heard lots of stories from her parents before she ever met Getta, which has taken away like 90% of his fear factor. Gianna has wild stories of their time spent together when they were younger.

Raphael Caron (Good Friend): Raphael is one of the most fun members of the seethe. He has an incredibly fascinating mind, and the two can talk about any subject for hours. He created “blood pops” for her 100th birthday as a surprise present.

Aleksander Mazur (Friend): Aleksander is a good guy; she knows that she can be a lot, but he is always willing to listen. Aleksander was the first person to take her out and let her experience being a vampire in her own right, rather than as someone’s daughter.

Richard Fili (Friend): Fili is a party animal and has had a poor influence on Chiara. He invited Chiara out the first time, and made her feel safe enough to keep on going. On the rare occasion she has alone time with him, she sees the effect that so many years, especially alone, has had on him. The anger and pure exhaustion he has over being alive is strong under the party personality.

Dan Prior (Student): Despite being nearly 120, Dan is still in Chiara’s class. He wasted the first 20 years of his vampiric life crying over his dead lover that he became behind quickly. He has connected with Rachel though, and seems to be helping her push through.

Aisling Rois (Friend): Aisling and Chiara catch up when they have time. They often work opposite schedules which can make it difficult to see one another. Chiara jokes that Aisling always makes the best drinks. 

Morana ‘Ana’ Vickors (Fascinated): Ana is one of the older vampires in the seethe, that she thinks would tell her about her life. She’s been attempting to get to know her, but they don’t often have chances to speak.

Chen Ying Yue (Student): Chen is doing well with her studies. She’s very social and excels at bringing other student’s out of their shells. Despite being so young, Chen is working on her Master’s degree as well as her vampiric training. 

Farrokh Alvi (Friendly): Farrokh has lauded her with tales from when he and Petra belonged to their previous seethes and the daring escapades they went on. He’s a major reason for her mild fangirling over the older vampire woman. He also speaks Italian very fluently, which is a nice break from the general English spoken around the seethe. 

Rachel Sloane (Student): Chiara had a dream upbringing as a vampire and has always felt enraged when she hears the numerous stories of abuse and mistreatment of other young vampires. She has tried reaching out to Rachel in class, though the younger woman hasn’t responded much. 

Petra Chak (Inspiration): Chiara has always had an academic mind, and hadn’t considered any physical training for protection; she was a vampire now so surely it wouldn’t have been a problem. But then she saw Petra in action during one of her first nights in Chicago and was blown away. She has received some lessons after becoming an Underling, and wants to continue them. 

Lestat Marcoux (Friendly): Chiara was immediately interested when Lestat  mentioned that he did homebrewing, and asked if she could watch and learn what he was doing. The two began talking and spoke about his past in France which she also found fascinating. 

Hostile Connections:

Sadie McCoy (Uptight): For being not much older than Chiara, Sadie always acts uptight. They’ve gotten into a few spats and now she avoids Getta’s assistant.

Chai Gates (Frustration): Chiara struck up a conversation with Chai about mysticism and reincarnation in general. It turned into a pretty intense argument, that one or the other brings up each time they see each other. It’s fun at times to try and pull up evidence to convince Chai she’s right, but her derision over the idea wares on Chiara’s nerves. 

Pets:

Picco (Chihuahua): She asked her dad to name her puppy when she got him a few years back and he named him tiny. He was a rescue dog that she got after a bad break up.

As we discussed on Discord, due to inactivity, we have decided to end the Starter Prompt early. On Friday, February 19th at 9 am CST we will be ending the Starter Prompt and dropping threads. Tiggy Krieger: Tiggy was scouted out by a local seeker, Emmett Wilhelm, to join the Chicago supernatural population. She is a warlock with the power of disintegration and is now mentoring under Garrett Cleirigh.

Luke Corvinus: Luke’s pack was killed senselessly by hunters. He is a coywolf who came to Chicago in search of Anton and has joined the Nimble Clan. He is debating joining the local Wolf Clan but refuses to do so without Anton.

Dante Parisi: Dante is a grizzly bear and a member of Michael Johnansen’s old pack. Dante alone with 36 moose, 20 assorted bears, 8 mountain goats, multiple families of bison, reindeers, and rams moved to Chicago and joined Clan Heavy after they had trouble adjusting in Wyoming.

Natasha Mahoney: Natasha is a human shifter that moved to Chicago from Nashville. She moved along with her sister to be closer with her long-distance boyfriend, Sirius Cobic, and to work as a supernatural lawyer.

General Plot Updates

Clan Rat has found out about the Underground being truly poisoned and the Vampire Seethe Master is asking for retribution from the entire clan for the damage and heartache they’ve caused.

The local Human Shifters have confessed that a handful of human cops, detectives, judges, and internal affairs (law enforcement) know about the Supernatural. While the immortal three could care less, a majority of the Animal Shifter Council is furious and are in the works of planning a Council meeting to discuss possible consequences.

The Lasiter Mark has officially been added to the Codex. Updates on the main are soon to follow.

Gretchen Sims has finally officially taken the head position of Clan Hyena. Nada Rajui has returned to his position as 2nd and Liaison.

Scorpius Getta has told the supernatural community about plans for Hotel Winona and asked for Witches and Warlocks to lend a hand.

Garrett Cleirigh has campaigned for the open warlock seat on the council and has been granted the seat.

Starter Prompt Recap 

Below is a recap of what happened during the unfinished Starter Prompt.

Bess

Bess found out about vampires. Dan killed a Comic book store owner and Bess caught him in the act. Dan eventually convinced her to help him clean up the mess. He promised her they would see again before running from the freshly cleaned-up scene. 

Bess has possibly found out about magic users. She found Lyra on the scene of a deadly B&E (breaking and entering). Lyra followed a spirit that was begging for help when Bess showed up. Lyra explained to Bess that she thought she heard someone in the backroom calling out for help before eventually teleporting away. 

Bess found out about the supernatural. Inez was trying to cover up a hyena attack when Bess showed up on the scene. The owner of a Comic Book store was bitten and in the process of changing as Inez tried to come up with a cover story for Bess. During this Bess was attacked by a shifted hyena whom Inez shot dead as a result. Bess was bleeding from the head when Inez reported that there was an officer down and that they needed an ambulance. Inez stayed on the scene to explain things to the responding human shifter cop.

Ainsley 

Rhiannon found Ainsley as a fox and took her home to heal her. She believed her to be a real fox and was simply wanting to help out an injured animal. Ainsley shifted back to her human form once Rhiannon had her healed and Rhiannon offered her a change of clothes and a ride back to her home. 

Patch found a fox being attacked by a wild coyote and saved her. He brought her home and cared for her thinking she was a real fox. He eventually called on Judson to help him and it was an awkward moment when he found out his new pet, Maid Marian, was actually Ainsley from Clan Nimble. Judson volunteered to take Ainsley home as Patch wrapped his head around having bathe a grown woman in her shifted form. 

Peter saved Ainsley from a coyote attack. He caught the color of her white eyes earlier on and knew she was a nimble shifter. He talked her into shifting back to her human form but Ainsley soon passed out after. Giving her his jacket, Peter took her to the hospital and contacted Clan Nimble. He stayed long enough to give a police report and retell the story to Percy before leaving. 

Conrad

Lyra was found by Ben’s ghost and led to where Conrad was laying. She decided to help him out of the Underground, and this led to Conrad finding out that Lyra could speak and see Ben, who had died over a year ago. Lyra explained that her powers allowed her to see and speak with the spirits of the dead. 

Conrad was found unconscious and naked by Kris, who ran to Jaxson and Sam, who were visiting the Underground, for help. Jaxson took charge of the situation and ordered an evacuation of the Underground. Jaxson and Sam started to feel symptoms of whatever poison that was still lingering around Conrad as they carried him out of the Underground. Kris was waiting for them when they got out and drove them to one of the safehouses. 

Getta, Petra, and Sadie found Conrad unconscious and naked Underground. Getta ordered one of their magical healers to heal Conrad. They explained to Conrad what happened to him and the poisonous gas that plagues the Underground. Geta got in contact with the Human Shifter to escort Conrad out of the Underground, after having Conrad sign a waiver, acknowledging that he was not attacked by anyone Underground. 

Winnie found Conrad naked and unconscious in the Underground. She woke him up with her powers and after the two realized one another were Supernaturals he trusted her enough to get him out. Conrad shifted and Winnie carried him out in her pocket. He had her drop him off not far from a safe house. After she left he scurried in and passed out again.

Kudzai found Conrad naked and unconscious in the Underground. She teleported him to her home and began healing him. After he regained consciousness, Kudzai contacted Nick who came to pick him up. 

Monty 

Emmett got Monty to help with his search for a dangerous witch he was searching for. She was arrested and punished by the Council. Patch and Monty are tasked with coming up with a cover-up story for the Nimbles News report and their own police and autopsy reports. 

Duke was taken to Isaac. Monty did not believe that Duke had a twin brother that was the culprit. Isaac explained that Duke indeed had a twin brother and asked for the charges for the destruction of property to be dropped. 

Asa was taken to Clara. Clara’s reaction wasn’t the best, therefore, Monty didn’t stick around for long and made sure to erase all evidence. 

Ebony was taken to Alexus who happened to be with Grant at the moment. Monty told them of what happened that there will possibly be charges rung up against her if the animal shifter wanted.  

Kudzai 

Asa was injured due to Ebony but got away. He was found on the side of the road where he had fallen and was taken to the ER where Kudzai worked. She performed surgery on him and he is mending. 

Zack was injured in a clan dispute. Kudzai healed Zack’s minor injuries enough to wake him up and ask a few questions before preparing him for surgery. Zack asked for his wife, Sarah, to be called and waited for her to arrive before proceeding with the procedure. Zack had a bruised liver and had to have an exploratory laparoscopic procedure to examine the extent of the damage. Kudzai surgically and magically fixed Zack’s severe blood loss, a forming infection, and a slight problem forming in his bile ducts. The procedure was successful but Zack remained in the hospital under Kudzai care for a few days. Since Zack refused to age, Kudzai, with the help of Rhiannon had to slowly heal him and make it look like he was aging to trick the on-duty human nurses. 

Peter was injured in an attack by fellow wolves who were attempting to take his position. He allowed Kudzai to begin to heal him and asked that she contact Garrett Cleirigh. Who quickly teleported there and teleported Peter away. There was no discharge order and no patient, so Kudzai had to come up with a cover story, causing more tension between the two council members. 

Cassandra was unconscious when she arrived. Kudzai made quick work of healing her and contacted her emergency contact Helenus. Kudzai has asked that Cassandra return for a checkup since the reasoning behind her unconsciousness was inconclusive. 

Ebony 

Helo was setting up new surveillance for CAMO when Ebony came out in full gear and began running after him. He eventually played it off like he was human, and swore not to tell anyone she chased him if she let him go. He is unsure if she bought the ruse or not. Ebony doesn’t fully buy Helo’s story and plans on getting security surveillance up soon. She has also reached out to her neighbors about a suspicious kid around the neighborhood that she thinks might break in; knowing they will more than likely call the cops if he shows his face around there again.

Ebony has made it aware that she wants to take over the family and went on a hunt to prove her intentions. Sam saw Ebony prowling around the younger Jackal shifters she was watching and decided to lead her off of them. This led to a chase in the park where the two women fought. Sam was able to change into her rat form and slip away from the hunter. She sustained mild injuries but declined to admit how she got them to others in her pack out of embarrassment that a hunter got some hits in. Ebony is trying to figure out what kind of supernatural the girl was. One moment she was there and another moment she had vanished. She is hoping to trail the girl in the future and find out more. 

Ebony was chasing Asa on a hunch that he was an animal shifter. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it but she was guessing that he was something big and powerful by the way he moved through the trees. Ebony eventually caught up with Asa and held his attention with a crossbow pointed at his heart. She was able to do a brief interrogation before Asa attacked then gave her the slip. Asa made it to the ER with a crossbow injury and a few other cuts and bruises. 

Lyra

Neaera got a recording of Lyra performing a ritual in the woods. While Lyra was able to bind the spirit but she didn’t finish her ritual due. Neaera played dumb and ran from the scene. She replayed what she got to Ray and Louis. GOLD plans on returning to the scene of the ritual to see if they can gather more information and they also plan on putting an expert group on Lyra. 

Talia walked in on Lyra performing a ritual by chance. The disruption was enough for one of the spirits to escape. Talia and Lyra spent the entire night recapturing the escaped spirit. Lyra finished her ritual but it was under the close watch of Talia and Roman; whom Talia talked Lyra into calling.

Averill watched Lyra work from the darkness of the woods, randomly, but a scream from somewhere else distracted the both of them. They would later find out it was a scream from a hunter hunting down an animal shifter. Lyra had asked that Averill help her catch the elemental spirits that escaped during the short distraction for her ritual. The two formed a somewhat awkward bond while hunting down and summoning the last two spirits needed for the ritual. 

Ken 

Ken managed to get out of the Underground without too many consequences thanks to Arthur. He called Judson once out of the Underground and Judson teleported to his aid. Once Judson saw that it was Arthur that had helped Ken, Ken learned that Arthur was a good friend of Roman’s, who had made Ken’s work life a living nightmare. 

Isabetta was unaffected by Ken’s powers. She easily picked him out of the crowd as the possible culprit which Ken confessed to and had no power over what was happening. Offering to help him out and into a Lyft or Uber, Isabetta and Ken made their way out of the underground while avoiding people who were obviously affected by his power. Ken may have given Isabetta his number and address as a thank you gesture. He also offered to get her a wine bottle filled with the blood of an aged witch or warlock with the power of her choice. 

Rachel was working on her homework Underground when she noticed all of the non-vampires were acting strange. She was ready to bold, not wanting anyone to think she had anything to do with it when she nearly tripped over Ken. They met before and striking up a conversation wasn’t hard. Rachel found out that it was Ken causing all of the commotions and that his powers don't work on her. With the help of Fiona and Aleksander, Rachel was able to help Ken from the Underground and contact Simon who took Ken home. 

Skylar 

Skylar accidentally pulled water out of Kate’s water bottle. She witnessed the water act almost animatedly and when Skylar ran into the nearest store, Kate followed. There she was met with the sight of her long-term crush, Ryan Cleirigh. He sent Skylar away to Judson and then invited Kate up to his apartment to explain what she saw. 

Skylar lost control of her powers when she found out she was locked out of her apartment building. Minsky tried to help her calm down but Skylar’s magic had the best of her. She saw Minsky as a threat and the key her magic was forming eventually turned into a knife. Minsky managed to talk her down and Skylar apologized before making a run for Judson’s shop. She explained what happened to Judson, who gave her Minsky’s number, and Skylar personally called him to apologize again.

Fenrin saved Skylar from exposing herself when she accidentally used her magic in public. He triggered a fire hydrant to go off and made his escape with Skylar. Both had heard of each other from mutual contacts caused Skylar to be more relaxed than she would have with anyone else. Fenrin offered to buy her a coffee to calm her nerves as she waited for Audo, Ryan, or Judson to return home. Fenrin and Skylar talked about their shared powers and got to know each other. 

Kudzai witnessed Skylar’s accidental magic. Being older and a Council member, Kudzai was able to send a spell causing the water to evaporate. She and Skylar walked around the block before Kudzai offered to teleport inside of Skylar’s apartment. While they were walking, Kudzai was able to calm Skylar’s nerves and assure her that things like that happened all the time. Skylar has never thought about joining the medical field but they had exchanged numbers and Kudzai told Skylar to contact her if she ever wanted to talk about it.

Skylar’s magic had a mind of its own and unknowingly pulled coffee from two Starbucks cups Lyra was holding to form a key for her apartment. Lyra’s soothing and calming tone helped Skylar calm down enough to stop her oncoming panic attack. With instructions from Lyra, Skylar was able to place the coffee back into the coffee cups but insisted on buying Lyra new ones. 

Michael 

Asa heard about what was happening at the zoo and went to help Michael with crowd control. Michael and Asa lost sight of each other when the human shifters finally stepped in after someone tried to climb over a gated area. However, when Michael returned to the Hotel, and sought out Asa and thanked him for his help. 

Clara saw Michael’s speech and the outcome on social media. She went to help but somehow the two got into a heated dispute. A few choice words were said and Michael has been avoiding Clara like a plague. 

Hailey lost track of where she was and ended up in a rioting crowd that Michael was trying to talk the crowd down and keep the peace. Michael explained what was happening to her but was quickly pulled away from her by someone else. 

Ebony was tracking someone to the zoo when she ran into the big crowd. Michael tried to explain what was happening to her but she clearly wasn’t buying what he was selling. Michael doesn’t know she’s a hunter but wrote down his Twitter information on a flyer he gave her. He would like to continue to pick her brain but it is only if she follows him or reaches out to him.

→ His Personality Jia has somewhat of a bleeding heart, especially for young supernaturals. He always tries to extend a hand and take watch over them. Sometimes this works, other times it backfires. He makes his parties a safe space for all who attend, and believes he is bringing the supernatural community closer with them. Another reason he hosts these many soirees is because of his strong hatred of being alone. The silence becomes deafening at times, especially if one of his mentees or Garrett is not there. He has a strong streak for the dramatics inside, which is clearly evident when looking at his home and lifestyle. Decadence and a love for vibrant and rich colors fill his home and excess is often seen in his parties. This decadence is solely due to the illusions he can create.

In an effort to understand the people he meets, Jia loves long conversations. He likes diving deep with others, but refuses to open up about himself. This results in many casual friends, but none incredibly close. He can be a difficult person to deal with; often with very high highs and low lows. Garrett Cleirigh (Love): Garrett is simultaneously one of the best and worst people Jia has ever known. They fight and fall back in love with each other every time afterwards. He sees the good in him, when most others refuse to, and knows that he’s a good man Jia believes that he wants forever with Garrett, but refuses to admit that long term commitment is terrifying even to him

Platonic Connections:

Ronan Cleirigh (Former Mentor): Ronan was the first person who saw Jia’s potential. Jia had begun training under a witch in Saigon when he came across Ronan. He had a sense that Ronan was exactly what he needed. It took him months, but he eventually got Ronan to consider taking him in. His life truly started under his tutelage.

Judson Cleirigh (Old Friend): Judson and Jia have been friends for a long time. He deeply respects Judson and his drive and ambition to help cure the magical world.

Ryan Cleirigh (Mentee): Jia has known Ryan since he was born. He is a mini Judson, so when he begged to begin mentoring under him Jia was surprised. He was happy to, much to Judson’s dismay, and they began working on Ryan’s powers. Recently, Ryan has been pushing to work on his advanced levels, which Jia knows is a bad idea.

Nathan Cleirigh (Therapist): Jia has been going to Nathan for years, and makes very little progress due to his unwillingness to open up. He’s wondering if therapists can fire their patients and if so why Nathan hasn’t fired him yet.

Minsky Edison (Former Mentor): Jia briefly worked with Minsky while studying his advanced level powers. He had significant trouble with Psychosomatic Illusions and working about a decade with Minsky cleared it up.

Rhiannon Draga (Former Mentor): Jia worked briefly with Rhiannon while mastering charms. Her support helped push him to the very end, for which he is grateful.

Jace Cicero (Friend): Jace is a sad guy, and Jia wants to fix him and bring him out of his shell. In the centuries of knowing Jace, Jia has never seen him connect on a deeper level with anyone, and Jia thinks he could help.

Sid Velancia (Mentee): Jia was Sid’s first mentor. No one was scrambling to claim him, but Jia saw some potential. He did well with his beginning powers, and uncommonly, Sid chose to stay with Jia. He debated trying to find a new mentor but figured he wanted to learn charms anyway and was comfortable with Jia’s teaching style. Jia thinks he is doing very well with his training, and he is glad that he stayed.

Ken McStevens (Former Mentee):  Ken used to mentor under Jia until he tried to feed off of Ronan. Ronan had given Jia and Ken an ultimatum, Ken’s death or Ronan would take over as his mentor. The choice was obvious. Jia is still annoyed at the ultimatum, but knew better than to argue with Ronan. He’s doing well with his new mentor and Jia sees him for Charms lessons.

Belle Cunningham (New Friend): He only met Belle within the last few years when Sid brought her along to one of Jia’s parties. He immediately felt a kinship with her; whether it is their love for their mothers or having a dramatic partner. Belle is one of the first invites to his parties, and he’s considered offering a spot to her for her Advanced levels.

Flower Hanes (Friend): There is something so endearing about Flower. He loves that she stood up to the Wilhelms and is trying to go about her life in her own way. There is also something that reminds him of Garrett in her that he gravitates toward.

Scorpius Getta (Friend): Jia very quickly embraced the vampires and their establishments. He appreciates those who go outside of the box and can always find something to chat about with Getta.

Lawrence Cocci (Friend): Fire starters have a tendency to be destructive, even when their powers are blocked, as they are at one of Jia’s parties. He only recently began inviting Lawrence around, and so far he hasn’t disappointed.

Gretchen Sims (Life of the Party): Gretchen always brings hordes of people into his parties, crossing all species. He thinks that if she focused on her ability to bring people together, she could be a major player in unifying Chicago’s supernatural community.

Luke Bowick (Party Guest): Luke has that borderline crazy vibe, and Jia is frankly kind of into it. He and Gretchen always bring hordes of species to his party and have a way of getting those not a part of the immortal three comfortable.

Carter Bialar (Semi-Regular Partier): Carter Bialar has been showing up at his parties lately. It’s a shocking turn of pace, but one he hopes will lead to other animal shifters feeling more comfortable with him and his parties.

Duke Thornton (Friend): Jia has always preferred Duke to Aries. They befriended one another while Jia was still in his beginning levels and have maintained that friendship ever since. Jia likes Peter, but wonders what will happen once Duke gets his powers back.

Peter Knox (Friendly): Jia can’t help but see Peter as a bit of a tragic figure. He doesn’t know that there’s a timeline on him and Duke and it has endeared him to Jia. He really likes him and will occasionally swing by Anonymous to talk with him.

Sadie McCoy (Friend): Jia adores Sadie. She can be such a stick in the mud Underground, but as soon as she is released from those duties she is so fun. Jia doesn’t even care that she brings her weird scary vampire friend.

Sven (Unsure): He loves Sadie, but Sven never says anything to him at his parties, but he has yet to hurt anyone so he can keep coming.

West Freeman (Party Goer): West is a mess. A fun mess, but still a disaster. He knows that Roman supplies him and that he does potions while everyone is getting carried away. He is the only rat who does not seem to care about his surroundings.

Dakota English (Party Goer): Heaven help the DDs, especially when it is the intoxicated person’s partner. Dakota never seems to fully relax at the parties, and his guess is that it has to do with her boyfriend always over doing it. He feels for her and willingly ignores the snooping she tries to do.

Churchill Darling (Party Goer): Churchill is a frequent party goer, usually hanging around Patch. He’s able to charm the room easily and tends to play well with others.

Jev ‘Patch’ Cipriano (Party Goer): Patch and Judson are best friends, and he’s known Patch for centuries. He often swings by to see Ryan as well, and he has roped Jia into the plot to get Ryan a girlfriend.

Vincent Kane (Party Goer): Vincent never really seems like he enjoys coming to the party, but he is usually seen if Patch and Church are there.

Adelaide ‘Addie’ Blanchett (Party Goer): Addie and Monty are newer to the area, but of the few times they’ve talked to Jia, they seem sweet.

Montgomery ‘Monty’ Wilders (Party Goer): Ada and Monty are newer to the area, but of the few times they’ve talked to Jia, they seem sweet.

Raphael Caron (Party Goer): Raphael is another one of the vampires who come up from the Underground to party. He and Ryan are best friends, and Jia has occasionally gone to him to provide refreshments for the vampires at his party.

Winnie Zhao (Good Friend): Winnie is one of the first native chinese speakers that he met once joining up with the Cleirighs. He always finds her very sweet to talk to and wishes they saw one another more.

Cassandra Askeris (Friend): Jia and Cassandra have crossed paths several times over their lives due to mutual friends and in more recent decades have formed a friendship of their own.

Louis Martin-Rovet (Spy): Jia knows that Louis spies on them during the party, but has accepted it, and always makes sure there’s some illusion to pull his attention away from something big. Jia futilely believes that if they get to know witches and warlocks that they’d realize they aren’t the monstrous creatures they believe they are spying on.

Helo Adama (Accomplice): Helo often looks like he has never actually been to a party before. It is very much not his scene, but it’s cute that he tries. He doesn’t seem as dedicated to the snooping as some of the other rats.

Hanna Moore (Accomplice): She’s the nicest rat who attends and stays sober, and Jia wants her to come by herself for once. But her fiance seems sweet.

Talia Cleirigh (Friend): Jia has gone to Talia for help removing and altering dreams that he’s had, specifically about Garrett cheating on him. She hasn’t commented on the dreams she removed, which he is incredibly grateful for.

Hostile Connections:

Kaylor Cleirigh (Dislike): Despite the fact that Jia gets along with nearly every Cleirigh, Kaylor just hates him. He’s tried but knows it has something to do with his and Garrett’s on and off. Jia’s accepted it, and just stays out of her way when she comes to town.

Pets:

Meowses (Siamese/Familiar): Meowses was given to Jia as a birthday present by Judson. He’d mentioned getting a cat for nearly a decade, but wasn’t sure he’d pick out a cat he’d want forever. The Cleirighs got tired of hearing it and picked out a cat at random for him. It turned out to be his perfect match in cat form and they’ve been together for about two centuries.

→ His Personality Percy has very rarely failed in his life. This is not necessarily because of his skills or brains, but mainly his family’s money. He is a creative and often idealistic person, who is focused on pushing the envelope to see what else is out there. He is confident and charming, and has managed to make most things he creates work. One thing that isn’t working is his idea of a joint pack. It began in the 1930s as a way to bring people to Chicago and keep themselves above boat during the Depression. It worked for a while, but in the last 20 years has begun to spiral. Violence and hatred have gotten to a boiling point and the pressure only rises with new members moving in every month. He still thinks it is working and an idea worth fighting for, however even he is feeling the cracks. Percy has become an insomniac and his emotions are so high strung that his eyes frequently flip back and forth between white and his typical brown. He has taken to carrying sunglasses to hide his effect from those in and outside of his pack.

He has recently decided, under Liz’s recommendation, that he needs to destress his life. Percy gets self-confidence and pride from his work, so slowing down feels as though he is failing more. It has allowed him to attempt to fix his relationship with his wife. He is absent at best and neglectful at worst when it comes to Rose, and he realized he had started to become exactly like his father. There were special channels to broadcast supernatural news and it created the foundation for other supernaturals to create content and information for themselves. Creating an empire so expansive was not without cost. Percival II was rarely home and treated his wife and son as merely objects set out to impress. It left him with a constant need to prove to his father that he was just as clever as he was, even in death. Percy III created the first television station and has expanded into the internet and digital sphere as time has gone on.

Rose is smart and fierce, but didn’t fully know what she was getting into when marrying him. He needed someone to stand by his side and have no desire to get involved in his life. He’d provide for whatever she wanted as long as she’d keep everything in their marriage private and eventually have a kid with him. It’s been a decade since they’ve been married, and they’ve kept up their deal. She has her own bedroom and they only typically see each other over dinner. Rose hates him and he understands why. Recently, Percy has begun to think being open with his wife and mate may calm him down more. He wants to start a real relationship with Rose, and is attempting to show that to her. She is becoming more receptive though she doubts him.

Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Snow (Best Friend): Percy knows Liz better than anyone else. Liz is the only one who has truly seen him at his most vulnerable. They understand each other and the choices they make and support one another fully. It’s hard not to fall in love with someone who knows you well, and Percy was not immune to this. However, he knew it would never work. He found a dhole shifter who would agree to what he wanted from a marriage and tried to block out any thoughts of Liz, unsuccessfully. Simon Brodeur (Packmate): Percy has over 90,000 nimbles in his care and would be lying if he said he knew all of them by heart. However, Simon has recently popped up on his rader and Percy has been keeping a worrisome eye on him. Percy has never had a bad experience with Simon but when Simon’s mate was obviously killed by a hunter, Simon had blacked out causing a mess for Percy. Simon had gone into a frenzy and changed a few humans. Percy and Liz were able to cover it up and Simon was released punishment free but Percy is unsure what his next step should be and whether to go after the hunters who did this.

Austin Semler (Packmate): Percy is familiar with Austin work and the work of Austin parents. Percy knows potential when he sees it and Austin is bursting with potential but it is clear to Percy that Austin isn’t ready yet.

Isla Johns (Packmate): Isla acts as the speaker for the prey members of their clan and is also a member of the Triumvirate. Percy and Isla are nearly never on the same page making Liz their referee on larger impact topics. They can never have a strong relationship while he knows what she thinks of him and how he runs the clan. It would both him more, if he wasn’t as confident that Liz saw his vision and wanted it to succeed.

Anton Kowalski (Unsure): Anton has not been a part of his clan for long but Percy isn’t blind to how Anton avoids him in comparison to the way he flocks to everyone else. While Anton isn’t the first coywolf that Percy has met, he is one of the first shifters to transition into Chicago in decades from a single shift nimble pack; meaning their pack one had one type of nimble species. Petra Chak (Good Friend): Petra was the main model of a female vampire that Fiona saw growing up. She was strong and fierce, and once Fi was changed, Petra took over much of her teaching and pushed her to be as fierce and strong as she was.

Sadie McCoy (Unlikely Friendship): Fiona has gotten Sadie to let her hair down and relax. Their personalities crashed when Sadie was first introduced to the seethe and eventually became Getta’s secretary. After getting Sadie out and away. Fiona saw a different side of her away from work and being damn near perfect.

Minsky Edison (Husband/Separated): Kudzai was smitten when Minsky chose to pursue her romantically. She held out because of the notion that Neuromancers die randomly and the dark cloud of her past relationships. However, he eventually won her over and Kudzai finally found true love and settled down. When their son Jamie passed away, nearly 60 years ago, it put a strain on their relationship and they eventually separated. Since then Minsky and Kudzai have been off and on again; they are currently on again and planning to rekindle their marriage for good this time. Kudzai knows Minsky is it for her but needs to heal on her own.

Sid Velanica (Great Something Grandson): Kudzai hated Sid when they first met. It took decades before she saw his talents and was able to detach him from his mark. Cassia Trelawny (Mentee): Kudzai had originally thought Cassia was from her family line. Cassia fought to prove that while she does not know her parents she was not from the Rinker lineage. → His Personality Percy has very rarely failed in his life. This is not necessarily because of his skills or brains, but mainly his family’s money. Rose McCormick (Wife): Percy is admittedly a horrible husband. He’d like to blame it on the way he was raised, but even he knows he could stop that cycle whenever he wants. Rose is smart and fierce, but didn’t fully know what she was getting into when marrying him. He needed someone to stand by his side and have no desire to get involved in his life. He’d provide for whatever she wanted as long as she’d keep everything in their marriage private and eventually have a kid with him. It’s been a decade since they’ve been married, and they’ve kept up their deal. She has her own bedroom and they only typically see each other over dinner. Rose hates him and he understands why. Recently, Percy has begun to think being open with his wife and mate may calm him down more. He wants to start a real relationship with Rose, and is attempting to show that to her. She is becoming more receptive though she doubts him.

Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Snow (Best Friend): Percy knows Liz better than anyone else. Liz is the only one who has truly seen him at his most vulnerable. Isla Johns (Packmate): Isla acts as the speaker for the prey members of their clan and is also a member of the Triumvirate. Percy and Isla are nearly never on the same page making Liz their referee on larger impact topics. → His Personality Conrad has always had a strong sense of right and wrong. As a result of all of this she is generally very good with people, being able to read them fairly easily and adjust accordingly.

Enrico Molza (Husband/deceased): It was an arranged marriage and not a happy one. Isabetta detested him from the moment they met and it only got worse from there. After just six months of marriage, with Isabetta still not pregnant, Enrico became violent. After becoming a vampire she ensured he’d never hurt anyone again.

Platonic Connections:

Scorpius Getta (Sire): Isabetta quite literally owes her life to Getta. They clicked the first time they met at a masked ball in Venice. Neither knew then that a week later she’d be one of his vampires after he saved her from dying rather more permanently. Even if he hadn’t turned her like that though, Isabetta knows she would be loyal to him, that she’d count him as a friend, not just a maker. She admires him for everything he’s done and is trying to do. It’s been just over 600 years since he turned her but she still enjoys his company and her loyalty has only grown stronger through the years. 

Chiara Ricci (Friend): Isabetta and Chiara met when the younger vampire started teaching at the Hema academy. They bonded over stories and they fact that Chiara’s ‘parents’ are from Italy like Isabetta. 

Farrokh Alvi (Friend): In Farrokh, Isabetta found someone who like her was well versed in the ‘chess games’ of life. She enjoys his company very much and they often have a game of actual chess on the go. 

Sadie McCoy (Friend): Isabetta appreciates how well Sadie runs things, and always likes to see women in positions of authority. She can’t remember how or even when they became friends but it seems to Isabetta they have been since Sadie joined the seethe. 

Morana “Ana” Vikors (Friendly): Those who have been in the seethe a long time are all aware of each other, as is the case for Ana and Isabetta. Isabetta also deeply respects Ana for her loyalty to Getta. 

Aleksander Mazur (Vampiric Brother): His protective streak reminds her a little of her younger brother. It was maybe part of what drew them together in the beginning but she now considers him to be just as much her brother as Luca was. 

Fiona ‘Fi’ Marz (Vampiric Sister): Fi and Isabetta share a common flirtatiousness, though Fi is much more blunt. This has on occasion caused ruffled feathers between them but it never lasts long. Fi has always been so much more loyal than Isabetta’s birth family and Isabetta has become loyal to her vampiric sister too. 

Raphael Caron (Vampiric Brother): Isabetta has always enjoyed Raphael’s company and was happy to welcome him into the family. 

Petra Chak (Acquaintance): Isabetta hasn’t always liked Petra, in fact she used to get rather annoyed by her. Over the years this has mellowed and whilst they’re not friends Isabetta doesn’t mind the older vampire. 

Aisling Rois (Friendly): Isabetta met the younger at a dance class, and then again at the bar Aisling works at. They always get along quite well whenever they see each other.

Richard Fili (Annoyance): Fili is only 42 years older than Isabetta but he has frequently treated her like a child. That, along with the assumptions he made about her early on because of the upbringing she’d had, has gotten under her skin and she only has to think about him to get annoyed.

→ History Isabetta was born in a prospering Venice, into a family who were as rich as they were ambitious. Her childhood was fairly typical for the time. She spent little time with her father and older brothers, only really seeing them at family dinners or in church. Most of her time was spent with nannies and tutors well out of the way of the grownups. She was instructed in etiquette, languages, music, art and dance - all things she fell in love with. She grew up loving her family too, wanting to be just like her older sister. Though the one she loved the most was her sweet younger brother, Luca. He was the closest in age to her and thus the one she spent the most time with growing up. They would spend hours watching the boats from a window in their families grand home, talking about what the future would be like. Neither could have predicted what it would be, at least not for Isabetta. 

Her older sister, Maddelena, had married long before Isabetta was of age. Her husband was rich, handsome and not much older than her. It was only natural that Isabetta believed it would be the same for her, no one had ever considered to tell her Maddelena had been extremely lucky. If her husband’s much older uncle had not passed on it would have been to him that Maddelena would have been married. Their family did not marry for love, they married for political and financial gain. 

Isabetta was so excited the day her mother told her that her marriage had been arranged. But as she walked down the aisle her heart sank. Her soon to be husband was rich and powerful yes, but he was also much, much older than Isabetta and was gruff with her from the start. 

Married life wasn’t much what she had thought it would be either. She only saw her husband at dinner and when he visited her bed. Outside of that he didn’t spend any time with her. As the months passed she took solace in her faith, in her rose garden and in the rare visits with her family. At first her brother tried to tell her he was probably just getting used to having a wife and her mother tried to convince her that was just the way things were done. After a few months though she accepted she wasn’t going to have the marriage she’d always imagined and she turned her attention to doing what she had been brought up to do - be a political advantage. She’d win people over at dinner parties, gather information at balls and make introductions at Mass. For a while this seemed to gain her husband's attention and he started spending a little more time with her. It didn’t last long. After six months of marriage Isabetta still wasn’t pregnant and her husband blamed her. She wondered if he might be right but when his anger turned physical Isabetta knew she didn’t deserve it. Any feelings close to love or respect she’d had for him soured to bitter resentment. She turned to her family for help, telling them what he was doing. Her father yelled at her to just suck it up and get on with it, her mother blamed her, her eldest brother ignored her. With her sister away in France it was only Luca who stood up for her. Over the next month he got into several very heated arguments with their father over it but in the end the families reputation and connections mattered more to the head of the family than she did. 

When the Carnival came around that year Isabetta used it as an opportunity to avoid her husband at every ball they went. It was easily done as his attention was soon distracted by other women. Whilst sneaking through the crowd away from him at one such ball the ribbon on the sleeve of her dress got caught on someone. He was kind about it and they got talking. Isabetta spent the rest of the night with the mystery man and his friends. It was a welcomed breath of fresh air compared to those she was normally in the company of. She found him to be fun and engaging company. At the next ball he found her again, though she wasn’t sure how. And again she was happy to spend the evening in his company rather than that of her own so called friends. It was the same again at the next event but little did she know someone had noticed. 

The next evening she came down to the dock of her house with a bright smile, happy at the thought of another evening with her new friends. This was when her husband confronted her. When he came down he took one look at her and told her she looked like a whore, that no wife of his was going out in that dress. It was a dress that was no more low cut than was the fashion at that time. With an unnecessarily firm grip on her arm he started to pull her back towards the house. Isabetta had had enough though. She tore her arm from his grip and told him to go to hell. Storming away from him into their small garden. He followed her yelling, accusing her of being unfaithful and saying her inability to get pregnant was a punishment from God for her sins. She retorted in kind, calling him irrelevant, a whore monger and saying that God was saving her from having to bear the child of such an ogre. It was an argument she was sure would have been overheard by many if it hadn’t been Carnival. The other side of their garden wall was a busy canal, with plenty of boats passing by, but as it was their shouting was drowned out by the sounds of an entire city celebrating. Maybe if they could have heard someone would have come to intervene. 

The argument turned violent, her remark about God saving her prompting him to slap her so hard his ring cut her. Her anger was already boiling over though and instead of just taking it she punched him square in his nose. She wasn’t sure if the resulting cracking sound was his nose or her hand but she didn’t care. Even if it was her hand the look of surprise on his face had been worth it. That look turned harder though and before her racing mind could realise what was happening he’d grabbed her by the back of the neck and plunged a dagger into her chest. Without a word he released her, letting her fall to the floor where he left her. She faintly heard him telling their servants waiting at the dock that she would not be joining him. Shock soon set in both physically and mentally. She’d never imagined he’d go to this extreme. As the warmth of her own blood pooled around her though her thoughts turned to anger. Not just towards her husband but towards the father who had sealed her fate the day he’d arranged this marriage. 

Isabetta isn’t sure how long she was left lying there, maybe minutes, maybe hours. All she knows is that her view of the stars was at some point replaced with an unfamiliar face. When he spoke though she instantly recognised his voice as that of her new friend. If she hadn’t been so cold and so tired she would have wept with relief. The rest of that night and the days following are even fuzzier. She recalls saying yes to something, to drinking something and then a darkness pressing in around her. 

When she awoke it was into a completely new life. Isabetta learnt that her new friend, and now sire, was one Scorpius Getta and that she was now a vampire. More than that, she was now part of Getta’s family. Before she could fully give herself to this though there was one thing she had to do. Under another starry sky Isabetta went to say goodbye to her husband. She was pleased to find how surprised he was to see her. This time she got the better of him. She left his body where he’d left her and his head on her father's desk. 

There is only one thing she misses from her old life and that is Luca. He was the only one that stuck by her and tried to fight for her. She knew from the start her new family would do that for her as he had, and that she would do it for them too. Over the following centuries she learnt to better control herself and everything that came with being a vampire. She’s never felt the desire to leave her new family and her loyalty has only grown stronger.  

→ The Present Isabetta is in full support of what Getta is doing with the seethe and the Underground. She admires his goals and knows they come from a good place. She also doesn’t mind that it means that Chicago will likely be home for most of her life. The friends she’s made here and the job she now does haven’t hurt in making it feel like home. She’s enjoying teaching architectural history, having been interested in that area of art for most of her long life. A quick witted and amiable vampire, Aisling can be someone that is easy to talk to. This makes her very good in both her jobs - bartender and runner for the Seethe. Her clients at the bar often use her as a sounding board, and when recruiting cattle Aisling makes sure to be as charming as she possibly can. She is very loyal to Getta both before and after his rise to Seethe Master. Aisling can be very vengeful when she believes she, or someone she cares about, has been wronged. The cruel and vicious nature that comes out in these cases is largely attributed to her own history. Having been abandoned by her maker, she uses that anger when confronted with things that remind her of it. She has been known to suffer from abandonment issues, usually presented in an overly aggressive manner. When in this state she has been known to either argue or self isolate. Aside from bartending, Anna and Aisling have become pretty close, Anna has started to talk about the loss of her parents and Michael taking her in as his own and Aisling has told Anna about what happened with Dante and how she came to be adopted by Ana and Lestat. 

Briar Larson (Good Friend): Nikita, Naomi, Briar, Aisling and Anna were randomly placed together for a round of laser tag one night Underground. They stuck with each other the entire night, hoping from activity to activity and eventually drinks. Briar and Aisling are able to spend more time together due to both of them living in the Underground, and Aisling enjoys going over to her store when she has time off to hang out. 

Naomi Goode (Good Friend): Nikita, Naomi, Briar, Aisling and Anna were randomly placed together for a round of laser tag one night Underground. They stuck with each other the entire night, hoping from activity to activity and eventually drinks. Aisling has figured out multiple recipes for non-alcoholic drinks for Naomi and she has made a habit of making more recipes.

→ Her Personality Sadie, like most others in the underground, doesn’t quite remember how she got to the Underground. She woke up in a hole in the ground as a new vampire and was quickly brought into the fray by Winona. This severe amnesia has formed much of the way Sadie acts and thinks in the Underground. Sadie holds a decent amount of shame and confusion over her change. It was a very odd situation to come from and she has taken to brushing off the question or being vague whenever someone asks. She has become quite a secretive person and is grateful that the vampires she is closest with have never asked much of her. In order to make up whatever inadequacies that she feels, Sadie finds herself most comfortable in organized leadership roles. Her day to day duties, when not acting as a guardian, are directing underlings, making sure that daily activities and chores get done, and that the machinations of Getta’s passion projects are running in top shape. It helps her feel like a strong and necessary part of the seethe, rather than a forgotten mystery. Her desire to have a smooth running seethe beneath her has created a perfectionism complex. Sadie will push and work until the point of exhaustion to ensure the seethe does not falter. She gets snippy and judgemental when she feels as though people are purposefully slowing her or the operation down.

Despite this, Sadie is also a rather sympathetic person. She had to learn to be patient with herself and her memory, especially in those beginning years where nothing made sense. Her patience is a courtesy that she now extends to others, and it has allowed her to connect and understand the feelings that other vampires may be going through. The largest testament to both of these things is her relationship with Dan. Had she not had her patience or sympathy, he’d have been long dead or at least far worse off.

Winona Fili (Beloved): Sadie woke up totally alone in the pits of the Underground. Everything was bizarre and strange, and she was stumbling through the halls when Winona found her. She was one of the most beautiful women Sadies had ever seen and there was something about her that Sadie immediately trusted. Despite having no answers for who she was or where she came from, Winona took her in and helped her put together what she could of her memory. Sadie became her right hand, and would have done anything to keep Winona safe. She had fallen in love with her, though she knew despite her sly secretive smiles and occasional praise that she did not reciprocate those feelings. Still Sadie stayed patiently by her side. Then Dan came into picture and Sadie felt crushed. He was a snobby human whom Winona became obsessed with. Things moved quickly and Sadie was shocked and furious that Dan was going to be her mate. She pulled away from Winona for the first time to avoid having to deal with the couple. She had only spoken to Winona once more before she was killed. Sadie was devastated. Angry at Dan, their seethe master, and herself for not being there to help her. Dan was worse off than she was, and Sadie realized the only way to make it up to Winona was to save him.

Sven (Interested): Sadie and Sven have been partners for awhile, but it took awhile for her to see him as anything more than the silent, macabre, killing machine that she was assigned to watch over. At some point that she can quite pin down, he’s become the person she jokes around and flirts with. She’s wondering when and if he’ll see it too.

Dan Prior (Friend): Dan is Sadie’s self-repentance to Winona. She struggled for decades to keep his sorry ass alive and moving forward and in that time she grew to like and enjoy their time together. She probably would have left, but Getta took over and made the Chicago Nest something to want to be a part of. Morana ‘Ana’ Vickors (Friendly): Sadie is most familiar with Ana through her work with Getta. Ana is one of the Elders in the Chicago Seethe, as well as her boss as a Guardian.

Helenus Askeris (Friendly): Helenus runs Sadie’s favorite book store. She likes to shop small and local for the seethes books whenever possible, and Helenus always has what she needs. She purchases books for both the academic and general libraries from him.

Harry Reeves (Friendly): Harry is the key to Hotel Winona becoming up and running. She is happy to see that he’s fitting in well, but is concerned with their little gas problem. She has looked into ventilation systems that may help him breathe if a gas pocket were to be exposed.

Raphael Caron (Annoyance): Raphael loves to experiment with food. Food that will often poison whoever eats it. Sadie got sick one too many times and now avoids him at all costs.
