What about motorcycles?
Ohohoh. You thought you were going to put me in a spot of bother right here, eh? You thought you'd find me completely clueless as to what to tell you, huh?? You thought, HUH???? Well, unlucky for you, I have TWO entire BOOKS about motorcycles.
So I can just open the first one to a random page and tell you something about a motorcycle. *eh-hem* Fun fact about motorcycle...
...tits!
Okay, that was the first time I ever opened that book and I don't think it's going to top that, so let's just move on to the next one.
Well, this looks significantly weirder. What the hell are those funky things meant to be?
Wait wait wait. Folding???? "Trunk Bike"???? What do you mean????
Well, they mean that you could pull up to your Honda City Turbo II, fold down handlebars and seat, chuck it in the back and go on your merry way!
It was full of clever touches like an integrated wire lock, side bumpers so you could lay it flat, and even an optional backpack that latched onto the bike through the internal holes!
Bafflingly enough, this was nowhere near as much of a hit as was expected, failing to even hit a third of its targets by the end of its production with around 53.000 ever being produced. But what success it lacked in showroom life blossomed after, with a dedicated community of fans that spawned, among many other things, this book.
So, indeed, fun fact about Motocompo...
...tits!
Yes, this is an artbook dedicated to a vanishingly rare Japan-only early-80s folding scooter featuring manga tits. This thing couldn't be more Japanese if they drew the Motocompo as a tempura.
Although I guess it can't hurt to try.
Trust me, y'all cannot conceive how fantastically weird this book is. The picture above is not even an outlier. That's just the level. There's shoes, mini mangas, personifications, and of course...
...tits!
"Oh wow -I hear you say- look at the crazy tires they drew on that one!" And well, you're not gonna believe this:
Oh and the owner of this one has some half dozen. One of them replaces the stock 2.5HP engine with a Kawasaki unit as powerful as my car.
Oh right, forgot to mention. The book has a section dedicated to some of the finest modified Motocompos in the whole of Japan.
Why are you even asking? Of course there's itashas.
I humbly beg you to notice the tread pattern on the tire - of course, the most popular among Motocompo enthusiasts.
And I know what y'all are gonna think - y'all are gonna think I want one of these mad little scooters badly. And well, that's not quite true. I want about 10% of one, an electric motor and some batteries, and otherwise I'm good ;)
'Til then, it lays dormant in a silent prayer that my mom keeps not wondering what's up with that huge box atop the shelf with giant kanji all over it. And that the mailman hates me less than I assume he does.
Anyway, figured I would leave you with a double spread from the book featuring two quotes that have me torn on which I should get tatted on my back.
EDIT: It seems this post is shadowbanned. I cannot fathom why.
Links in blue are posts of mine explaining the words in question - if you liked this post, you might like those!
#japan is weird#and also a JERK of a country#I had to buy the thing through a business that buys things on Japanese auction sites and then receives them and ships them to you#which only exists because they don't even allow you to use those sites at all if you're not Japanese#but anyways of COURSE i bought a set of those tires#also i guess nationality doxx#and yes that was genuinely the first page I ever opened that book to#honda ncz 50 motocompo#that's its legal name#honda city#itasha#japan

Roger Atkins - the founder of the consultancy, Electric Vehicles Outlook Ltd, and host of the Electric and Eclectic podcast - had spent the previous five years travelling the globe as something of an electric vehicle evangelist. His talk at the University of Bath back in 2020, by contrast, was titled:
Mass adoption of electric vehicles would be a big mistake.
"It went down badly," he admits to LinkedIn News Europe three years on. "Someone even accused me of taking money from oil companies." But Atkins, who still runs Electric Vehicles Outlook and hosts his podcast, stands by it.
If we really want to save the planet, the solution isn't manufacturing 70 million EVs, it is re-evaluating whether we need to drive altogether. "We cannot make 70m electric vehicles a year – each of them with a 60kw battery, with the current mining capability that exists on the planet. If we try to do that, we're going to have to dig up half of Indonesia and mine the ocean floor," he said.
EV batteries use substantial amounts of minerals including copper, cobalt, nickel, rare earth and lithium. Since 2015, EVs and battery storage have surpassed consumer electronics to become the largest consumer of lithium, making up 30% of demand. By 2040, the International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates that demand for lithium could be 13 times higher.
(...) Environmentalists warn of soil degradation and damage to local ecosystems, as well as water shortages: 2.2m litres of water is needed to produce one tonne of lithium. (...)
For Atkins, that means EVs cannot be the future of transport. Or at least, not the future of individual transport. Instead, the world needs to (...) ... yes, stop (people) driving their own cars.
Creating EVs instead of petrol vehicles is only replacing one bad habit with another, Atkins says. "Of course it is going to p*ss people off. Of course people like to drive. But we live on a resource constrained planet," he says. "We need a paradigm shift."
(Another english expert) pointed out that as many as 50% of car journeys were used to cover distances of under 5km and could be replaced by active transportation, such as e-scooters. (...)
via (1) Why EVs may not save the planet | LinkedIn
L'ipocrisia sta svanendo, non regge al vero fact check:
è sempre stato chiaro che le auto elettriche, e tutte le fnti Energetiche Rinnovabili, rischiano di fare più danni ambientali al Pianeta che dar benefici, senza citare l'evidente danno allo sviluppo economico;
è sempre stato altrettanto chiaro che, anche volendo, non è fisicamente possibile sostituire anche solo la metà del parco circolante con EVs (perché? Ma perché "le risorse del Pianeta sono limitate", qual contrappasso micidiale);

The EU gives final green light to removable batteries in mobile phones from 2027 on.
The regulation also establishes a calendar for the recycling of batteries from different devices
The European Council has given the green light last Monday to the new regulation[1] that will make it easier for consumers to change portable batteries in mobile phones and other electronic devices from 2027[2] on, for which date they must be easily removable by users. With this, the Twenty-seven support the provisional political agreement reached last December with the European Parliament on new rules for the design, production and waste management of all types of batteries sold in the EU. The regulation will be signed by the European Council and the European Parliament before it is published in the Official Gazette of the EU and enters into force 20 days later.
This standard aims to create a circular economy for batteries by addressing all stages of the life cycle of these products, from design to production and waste treatment. This initiative is of great importance, since the demand for batteries is expected to increase tenfold in 2030.
The regulation establishes that portable batteries incorporated into devices must be removable and replaceable by the end user by 2027 at the latest, allowing sufficient time for operators to adapt the design of their products to this requirement.
“Batteries are key to the decarbonisation process and the EU shift towards zero emission modes of transport. At the same time, end-of-life batteries contain many valuable resources[3] and we need to be able to reuse those critical raw materials instead of relying on third countries for supplies. The new standards will promote the competitiveness of the European industry and guarantee that the new batteries are sustainable and contribute to the ecological transition”, said Teresa Ribera, third vice president of the Spanish Government and minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, at the meeting of Ministers of Energy and Environment held in Valladolid.
The regulation will apply to all batteries, including all waste portable batteries; from electric vehicles; from industrial devices; permitting to start, light-up and ignite (SLI), mainly used for vehicles and machinery, and for light means of transportation, such as electric bicycles, electric mopeds and electric scooters.
Circular economy
The new rules aim to promote a circular economy by regulating batteries throughout their life cycle. Therefore, the regulation sets requirements for end of life, including targets and obligations for collection, as well as for material recovery and extended producer responsibility.
The regulation establishes targets for producers to collect portable battery waste (63% by the end of 2027 and 73% by the end of 2030), and introduces a specific collection target for used batteries for light means of transport (51 % by the end of 2028 and 61% by the end of 2031). In addition, there is a target for the recovery of lithium from used batteries (50% by the end of 2027 and 80% by the end of 2031). The latter can be modified by delegation of authority depending on the market and technological advances and the availability of lithium. It also includes mandatory minimum levels of recycled content for industrial batteries, SLI and electric vehicles (16% for cobalt, 85% for lead, 6% for lithium and 6% for nickel.
Finally, the regulation introduces labelling and information requirements, among other things, on battery components and recycled content, and an electronic 'passport' and QR code. In order to give Member States and economic players on the market enough time to prepare, the labelling requirements will have to be applicable from 2026 and the QR code from 2027.

Eco-Friendly Travel: How Yukie Motor’s Battery Scooters Make Commuting Greener
The green electric scooter represents a break in the world of green transport as people continue to seek eco-friendly solutions. Yukie Motor offers battery-powered scooters which are a smart, sustainable means of navigating urban areas while contributing to carbon emission reduction in the city. As such, scooters become efficient and helpful in saving fuel while furthering even the modern goals of reducing dependence on fossil fuels and commissioning renewable energy vehicles.
Carbon Emission Reduction
Globally, most conventional vehicles depend on fossil fuels and contribute enormously to air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, efforts toward sustainable living are hampered. However, electric scooters designed as such as those by Yukie Motor are ecologically friendly since they run on electricity and therefore do not emit any tailpipe emissions and also help reduce carbon emissions. Such battery-powered commuters are cleaner and greener means to conventional transportation, moving toward green transportation. Incorporating renewable energy-driven transport into a daily routine can significantly reduce the carbon footprint of the riders on each trip toward greener and more environment-friendly days.
Sustainable Commuting Options
Electric scooters are becoming a new viable alternative for city dwellers in substituting cars and public transport in traveling into the city. They can systematically move energies through congested streets with an effective design by reducing the density of traffic and reinforcing environmentally friendly systems of transport. The battery commuters have made avenues for users toward embracing environmentally friendly travel behaviors for a clean, environmentally friendly city and neighborhood.
Powered by Renewable Energy
Further invigorating, charging battery scooters at renewable sources like the sun or wind adds to its environmental advantage. Using clean energy, the rider keeps the vehicles carbon footprint-free, which is going to help drive a massive scale shift to renewable energy vehicles. Integrating sustainable energy into daily commutes has been critical to supporting that shift toward cleaner, greener transportation solutions, and each ride is part of a larger effort to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
Affordable Green Transportation
In addition to the tremendous benefits they impose on the environment, eco-friendly electrical scooters are, in turn, relatively very economical and thus preferred by most budget-conscious commuters. Since they have relatively fewer moving parts as compared to those of gas-powered vehicles, these scooters require very minimal maintenance and thus less costly repairs and replacement of parts. Unlike traditional vehicles that demand substantial fuel, maintenance, and repair costs, these scooters pose much lower running expenses. Electric scooters consume less energy, which eventually contributes to low charging costs, especially if charged from renewable energy sources.
Conclusion: A Step Toward Greener Cities
The Yukie Motor electric scooters are battery-operated and have proved a very practical and eco-friendly way to start one’s modern commute. Electric scooters happen to be the best investment toward saving personal carbon footprint and are great endorsers of green transportation initiatives, which in turn spur global efforts to combat climate change. The more people switch to eco-friendly electric scooters, the closer cities will get to their sustainability goals, ensuring a cleaner and greener environment for generations to come. By choosing Yukie Motor’s battery scooters, you’re not just investing in a mode of transport – you’re embracing a more sustainable, environmentally conscious way of living.

Maintaining Cost of an Electric Scooter in India
Electric scooters are rapidly gaining popularity as a cost-effective and eco-friendly mode of transportation in India. With rising fuel prices and increasing awareness of environmental conservation, the shift towards electric vehicles (EVs) is more prominent than ever. If you're considering buying an electric scooter or already own one, understanding its maintenance cost is crucial. Let's explore what makes electric scooters a budget-friendly choice and how you can keep them running efficiently without breaking the bank.
Why Electric Scooters Are Cost-Effective
Unlike traditional petrol-powered scooters, electric scooters have fewer moving parts, resulting in lower maintenance requirements. Additionally, they don't require regular oil changes or extensive engine servicing, significantly reducing recurring expenses. This makes them an attractive option for cost-conscious consumers.
Looking for a reliable EV showroom in Hosur? Visit Sri Sakthi Motors, your trusted dealer for electric scooters.
Key Maintenance Costs of Electric Scooters
1. Battery Maintenance and Replacement
The battery is the heart of an electric scooter. Proper care can ensure it lasts for years, but eventual replacement is inevitable. Lithium-ion batteries typically last 3-5 years and cost between ₹20,000-₹50,000, depending on the model. Regular charging using the manufacturer-recommended charger can prolong battery life.
2. Tire Replacement
Electric scooters, like any other vehicle, require tire replacements due to wear and tear. A pair of tires may cost around ₹2,000-₹4,000. Checking tire pressure regularly can help maintain optimal performance and extend their lifespan.
3. Brake System Maintenance
Most electric scooters come with regenerative braking systems, which reduce wear and tear on brake pads. However, brake pads still need occasional replacement, costing approximately ₹1,000-₹2,000.
4. Servicing and Software Updates
Periodic servicing ensures your electric scooter operates efficiently. Many manufacturers offer software updates to enhance performance or fix bugs. Servicing costs range from ₹500-₹1,500 per visit.
5. Charger Repairs or Replacement
Over time, the charger may require repairs or replacement. A new charger can cost between ₹3,000-₹6,000. To avoid issues, store the charger in a dry, safe place and handle it with care.
Tips to Minimize Maintenance Costs
Regular Cleaning: Clean your scooter to prevent dust and dirt from affecting its components.
Proper Charging Habits: Avoid overcharging the battery to maintain its health.
Timely Servicing: Schedule periodic check-ups at a trusted EV showroom in Hosur like Sri Sakthi Motors.
Driving Habits: Smooth acceleration and braking reduce wear and tear on the battery and tires.
Electric scooters offer significant savings compared to petrol vehicles, with lower running and maintenance costs. By following simple maintenance practices, you can ensure your electric scooter remains a reliable and economical mode of transport.
Ready to embrace the electric revolution? Explore the latest models at Sri Sakthi Motors, the leading EV showroom in Hosur. Experience the future of mobility today!
