"Going feral" is an occurrence where the human part of a beast's brain is overwritten by animal instincts, usually due to extreme danger, fear, trauma, emotion, or pain. The beast may run away, or they may be dangerous and aggressive. A beast will almost always snap out of this state after a few minutes, but there have been stories of beasts remaining in an animal state of mind for months or even years until the human part of them slowly disappears forever.
