(warning long post is long) This is a very difficult post for me but I want to share some of the thoughts and feelings about alot of things and hard truths that I cannot express in words so well so drawing this picture helped me process them.  In general I do keep my opinion to myself as I for one do not like conflict.  That does not mean I am a pansy in anyway to not stand up for what I believe in. The over saturation of media is enough to make anyone depressed, worried, horrified, scared and just plain negative. 

I am a christian so I have a relationship with God and believe in the Bible.  I find the structured lifestyle and the knowledge of being created by a loving God makes me happy and brings me peace. Sadly due to sin the world has fallen from the peaceful and happy lives we were intended to have. I do believe that the battle we fight is not flesh and blood but spiritual battle of good and evil.  There truly are some awful, unfair and unjust things in this world. It’s hard to draw a line of when do you rely on God and when do you stand up and fight but with God’s guidance the grey areas become clear. I have been moved and inspired. I feel that no protest is greater than any other.  I do think that everyone has the right to human rights and needs. Where we are to look after all the animals and our planet. I can’t believe that we live in a world where your skin colour determines your lifestyle and how you are to be treated. I can’t believe that your gender can still keep you back from achieving your goals. I can’t believe alot of things.... but I understand that in the end times that things will be worse than the days of Noah. Those days had to be gosh darn awful if God had to reset the whole world with a great flood. There are so many signs that we are living in the last days. We need to wake up and have a long hard look at ourselves and see what are our priorities. 

Each fight that every person is fighting is needed. We need to protest! Now more than ever we need to seek knowledge and wisdom! We need to pray for discernment that we will have truth! We need God in our daily lives so that we will live happy lives. Being happy doesn’t mean easy lives please don’t mistake that, it just means that while you are fighting for what is right, that you will have peace knowing that you are fighting for those who cannot, those who cannot express themselves or defend themselves and peace that no matter what happens, God has got your back.  I pray for all the protesters that they will not succumb to violence, thieving and looting, harden hearts and that hate will dissolve from your soul.  Seeking wisdom from King Solomon in Proverbs has helped me find peace.  May we all remain seekers of the truth, always. #Black lives matter - World Wide #Yellow vests - France #save our farmers - South Africa #climate change - World wide #S.A.V.E stop animal violence everyday - World wide #Stop Violence - World Wide #Tagalog - Phillipines “fight” #Yellow umbrella - Hong Kong

Spring has sprung here at the Farm. We’ve had a hard winter not only because we didn’t have chicks and spring blossom to cheer us up but also because we were at risk of closing down completely. I’m thrilled to say thanks to the efforts of the public and grants from the council, WCVA and Coastal Housing that we are here. We have made some pragmatic changes to ensure that we can still be here supporting the health and wellbeing of people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, but we are STILL HERE! We have had to say goodbye to two fantastic members of staff who have overseen the growth and development of the Farm for many years. We thank them for their hard work and dedication and for making the Farm what it is today and we are sorry to see them go. We had a wonderful (if wet) campfire last week to say goodbye. We have reduced our opening times to reflect the lower staffing so now will be open on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10am-4pm where we will be helped by lots of volunteers to look after the grounds and animals. The café will be open on a Saturday where our talented children and young people (who are the volunteers Saturdays) will be serving simple meals and tea and cake to visitors. We also have our fantastic playschemes running during the Easter Holidays on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am -12pm. Please bring your little ones and join in the muddy fun! Our sheep will be returning shortly- we sent them away to lamb because the future was so uncertain here. We are hoping to borrow some pet lambs too. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page to find out when they are arriving and come down and help us feed them. New piglets will be arriving this afternoon and our birds have started going out into specially adapted pens after being inside completely since December due to avian flu restrictions. There are lots of changes and hard work ahead- but we are hopeful that we can make it work- we still believe the Farm is too good to lose. How can you not be hopeful and filled with the joys when the sun is shining, the volunteers are laughing and the birds are singing?

Spotlight:  Teena Borek!

I met Teena while volunteering at the Coconut Grove Art Festival at the Culinary Demonstration Tent last year and had the pleasure of working with her again this past weekend.  Fair Warning: You will hear me talk about this woman again in months to come because she is FANTASTIC! If everyone had a fraction of her passion, we could truly preserve our local farms and have a huge impact on food culture locally and across the nation.
